Hello, just a twst fan passing by
I just purchased the the recent episodes of Episode of Scarabia, and thought it would be nice to share info about the details of MangaUP!
So MangaUP! is made by Square Enix, and it provides their manga. The point of this website/app is that it provides people the chance to read mangas for free. Well, only some of the chapters are fully free, and you will need points to read the rest of them. However, there are still free points you can use
For what I've found, the points that can be used for reading a manga chapter are like this
MP: Free points that can be used. Charged twice a day, at 8am and 8pm. It seems 120mp is charged every time. This can be used to read any manga chapter, excluding preview and premiere ones. There is 72 hour limit for reading the purchased chapter
MP+: Points that can be earned through special event, or quests. There are quests that you can earn them, such as logging in, or reading specific mangas(It seems those are fully free). This can be used when there is no MP, or in preview chapters, which are ones that can't be purchased by MP. There is 72 hour limit for reading the purchased chapter
Coin: Points that can only be earned through purchasing. 1 coin costs 1 yen, and the minimum that can be paid is 160 coins. This can be used on any manga chapter, including preview and premiere. There is no time limit when you use coins
You may notice there is "premium"(プレミアム) on the new chapters for MangaUP! This is one of the systems of MangaUP! There is preview and premium, which you can't use MP. Preview uses MP+ and coins, and premium use coins only
Eventually, they become more available as time passes by. For example, part 1 of chapter 5 will change from premium to preview at July 16th. Even for preview chapters, when time passes by, you can use MP on them
So currently, the new chapter for Episode and Scarabia can only be viewed through puchasing. However, starting from July 16th, they will gradually become available to readers. It's unknown when MPs can be used, but I assume it will be about August at that time
About using points, it seems they can only be used through the app, not the website. The app is only available on Japan stores. Transactions are made through the payment methods of Google Play or Appstore, and likely for people outside Japan(like me lol) the only method is credit cards with VISA, Mastercard, American Express, or so. There is also MangaUP! global service, but this one does not have twst mangas
On MangaUP!, there are also the rest of the manga series, such as Episode of Heartslabyul, Episode of Scarabia, and Episode of Octavinelle. Episode of Heartslabyul has all chapter, but has chapter 13 to chapter 21 in premium. It is not specified when they will become preview. For other ones, they are slowly being updated
I also noticed that Episode of Scarabia is labled as "MangaUP! original". So I guess Episode of Scarabia will continue being updated on MangaUP!, and volume 2 would come afterwards. It's unique how they chose this instead of updating on GFantasy. Though considering how a single book of GFantasy costs, this way is actually cheaper?
By the way, the new chapters were fun to read. I can't post the pages, but here were the parts I loved
-Jamil's whole act of being innocent
-Kalim having an evil grin(just like that one from the magical archieve)
-Scarabia student B being cute
-Yuuna and Grim on the magic carpet, going through the Magic Shift goal from Savanaclaw
-Yuuna and Grim hugging each other as Scarabia students chased after them
-Tweels being menacing as always
-Azul's greedy smile and Yuuna and Grim not amused by it
I guess this is all I can say. Hope this was helpful information
I'm confused, are there new chapters of the Scarabia manga out? On the Japanese manga up website it looks like there are new chapters of the manga, but while I can't read it, I don't see anyone commenting on it, I don't see any Japanese people talking about new chapters, as if no one knew about it, that they just put it on the website? Does this mean that the Scarabia manga will be an online manga?
Tumblr media
Yes, there are technically new chapters (5 and 6) of the Episode of Scarabia manga out. It seems to leave off on Yuuna and Grim crashing into Octavinelle and soliciting them for help.
Typically, new chapters of the Twst manga are published in issues of GFantasy, which releases on the 17/18th each month. This was true for Heartslabyul, Savanaclaw, and Octavinelle. However, Scarabia’s publication did NOT do this; previously, it dropped an entire manga volume (chapters 1-4) at once. Both preorders for a physical volume and a digital volume opened up at this time. It looks like Scarabia might be going at a different pace and/or publication route than the other dorms thus far…?
You probably do not see comments on MangaUP! because people seem to be used to getting their updates from GFantasy and not MangaUP!; maybe people just weren’t aware of the updates being elsewhere.
Additionally, the updates appear to have gone live late at night + early in the morning in Japan. Because the JP demographic is predominantly older working women, they would most likely be sleeping at the time (like, it’s currently ~5:45 am in JST) and would not have time to read + comment until their morning commute or after work.
It also looks like you need to pay a premium currency to read the latest chapters so there’s a paywall in place. Maybe people are waiting for the price to go down first or have cheaper ways to view the chapters. (I believe GFantasy works on a subscription model so it could theoretically be cheaper than paying per chapter.)
Tumblr media
The Episode of Scarabia is NOT going to be exclusively online. Let’s not jump to conclusions here. They printed a physical volume 1 for the first 1-4 chapters (and also offered a digital version), and there is NO reason why they wouldn’t print the rest of the volumes eventually.
I’m not sure why MangaUP! seems to have gotten early access to the next few chapters though?? It seems to be a website affiliated with Square Enix and I’m not sure how the manga publication + other business stuff between them and the Twst manga adaptations work. I wouldn’t recommend using it though; at a quick glance, they seem to split up whole chapters into multiple installments in order to get you to pay multiple times to read them.

Have you read the Once Upon a Twist fairytale retellings? Any opinion on them?
the answer to this is actually embarrassing for me. so basically i kinda speed-ran reading every piece of Ever After High supplementary media all in one go in just a single day (or two i don’t exactly remember how long it took) which started with knocking out the diaries, followed by the shanon hale books including the secret diaries, then those school novels (i don’t remember what the official category they fall into is), then the junior novelizations of the specials, and finally i got to the once upon a twist books and by then i think i was probably burnt out and mostly just skim reading them. but i remember that faybelle was behind that shit like that’s a key detail in my brain. actually the books kinda hammer home my point about faybelle being one of the main girls because she did too much 😭😭 nah but yeah i plan to reread them in the future.
i find the concept to be neat and a fun little side-quest adventure for the characters. just fun filler stuff to mess around with.

You head back to your bedroom… which is where you find Mingyu flipping through the most recent book you’ve been reading.
Your heart lurches into your throat, body freezing in the doorway.
“I didn’t know you read this sort of thing,” Mingyu muses, looking up at you.
“What?” you squeak.
“Erotica,” he responds casually. “This seems interesting though.”
You slowly approach the bed, joining Mingyu under the covers while he reaches to put your book back on your nightstand.
“Uh…” you don’t even know what to say. “I didn’t mean for you to see that.”
Mingyu laughs, pulling you close to his chest. “Why not? It’s not like I’m judging you.”
“You’re not?”
“Nope. Why would I? I think I read somewhere that men like visual porn and women lean towards the written stuff, nothing to be ashamed of.”
He really is the perfect man.
“Plus, I keep seeing shit on tiktok about booktok girls needing their bikertok boy, I don’t mind filling that role for you.” Another nonchalant comment that makes your heart do somersaults. “Although… aren’t all of you booktok girls into masked men and threesomes and shit?”

Ko-Fi Memberships, Shop, is now Open! Help Fund my Dreams and make them Reality
Tumblr media
For those who don't want a long read: I am finally opening up monthly Memberships on my Ko-Fi, as well as offering up high-resolution prints of some of my art for download! My goals in 2025 are to work on not one, but TWO new children's books, one fully written and illustrated by yours truly. Join today and get news on my book updates and any other original work I may be working on.
Become a Member Here || Shop Here
I plan on providing monthly updates for members, and it's all available in a single, comprehensive tier: the $3 Noodle Tier. The Noodle Tier currently gives access to updates and to my discord with a special role. Nothing fancy, just the privilege of watching my work come to life.
Tumblr media
It's a very small price monthly to simply help keep me above water in these trying times. And that includes NO AI: All made by me, with words by people, and drawings from life.
Thank you everyone who supports, and has followed me for so long on this journey!
Tumblr media
Now for the long part lol
I don't talk about this a lot, but for many years, I have feared (rejected) the idea of a Patreon. Mostly because, I would see what artists were doing, fulfilling orders and burning themselves out on a monthly basis. I never saw what I was doing as worth that. I never believed I would be able to keep promises, and I don't like making promises I can't keep.
But over the years, my tune has been changing. I have realized I can simply ask for support, and in doing so, that support can help me do what I want to do, as opposed to what I think I need to be doing, and in turn, be able to produce more. I also have been changing my tune because after so long, I have finally realized: I cannot make what I want to make, alone.
May is my birthday month, and what I would really like for my birthday more than anything, is a little more financial security to help my pursue the things I would love to do with my life and my time. I chose Ko-fi because I trust it more than I do Patreon, and it gives me far more freedom and flexibility with how I can approach my customers.
What is the first thing I would like to share with my members? Information on what I want to do most right now: Starting on not one, but TWO children's books -- one centered on a very special borzoi named Jack and his story, and one based on my own two dogs, Strudel and Zill. This support will also help fund any other smaller projects I would like to work on, including paintings, prints, editing, learning Blender, and more.
For now, the tiers will unlock sketches and works in progress on pages as they are illustrated and painted. Some of the final images will be available for preview there, but not all of them, for the sake of the book. As work progresses, you'll learn firsthand on any ideas for kickstarters or crowdfunding campaigns, to make one or both of these books happen.
Once again, thank you to everyone always for your support! Whether it is through commissions, monthly subscriptions, my twitch subs, or just general moral support of being there for me, I can't thank you enough. This sort of support is very difficult for me to do, I never have felt like I had enough to give. But finally, I have a goal and a direction I want to move. Thank you to everyone who is helping me move that way, and making my longtime dreams, a reality.
Until next time! I will see you then. Please feel free to share!

A message to all the assorted unscrupulous undead: Beware the Ides of March.
To everyone else: Grab your kukri blades, your bowie knives, your stakes, your bone saws, and whatever else you have on hand to appropriately accessorize with your new copy of The Vampyres.
The book is out! Loose! Running rampant and bloodstained through the terrains of eBook and paperback alike!
My beautiful little baby, toddling into the literary world to deliver havoc unto the dastardly bastards of the revenant realm. I’m so proud. (And so happy to feel the stress headache finally start to crack.)
Now that The Vampyres is out in the open, a brief FAQ under the cut:
Where can I get the eBook?
Check out the Universal Book Link (UBL) here:
It’ll show you all the places you can grab a virtual vampyre by the throat.
Where can I get the paperback?
For folks in ‘murrica, I’d say hit up Bookshop.org to go and grab it from your physical store of choice:
You can also just search The Vampyres C.R. Kane and see the waterfall of options. Not sure of the exact timeline, but it should be more widely available in the coming weeks. At least hereabouts:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pictured: Places to potentially purchase a paperback.
Can I get it at my library?
If you ask for it, yes! You’ll need the ISBNs when filling out your library’s request form, so:
eBook ISBN: 9798218374594
Paperback ISBN: 9798218374587
What’s the status on that paperback cover business?
Current status is still ???
At least in the sense that I’m not sure what version of the book cover you might get at the moment. Original matte? Temporary glossy? Updated matte that’s here to stay? No idea at the moment. My self-publishing page shows the update’s confirmed, but the online stores are still using the first version as the preview image and I’m not sure when that gets swapped out. At least the books are all print-on-demand, so whatever you order, just know it’s not coming from some thrown-away backup heap. It’s fresh from the book oven press.
Anything else I need to know?
First, reviews are extremely welcome! I am running on negative budget when it comes to waving my little flag to announce that I Made a Scary Vampire Book, so I’m really relying on word-of-mouth if I want it to actually get its head above water. Leaving stars and comments wherever you can, be it in the online stores, the Goodreadses or Smashwordses or whatever else, would be a big help.
(Really though, I can and will dissolve into a puddle of relieved ego if I see so much as one (1) Nice Comment on Tumblr, my cesspool of choice.*)
*This is not hyperbole. I can count on one hand how many PROMOTION © ™ posts I’ve made on Twitter and have fingers left over. This novella is tailored to my fellow fiendish bookworms on here.
Second, to those coming by this stuff for the first time and don’t know what all this hoopla is about, a preview of my novella, The Vampyres, is available on my website. Give it a gander if you want to see under-appreciated classic supernatural bogeymen dropped into their own horror story.
Thirdly, lastly, vitally: thank you.
The Vampyres is a beautiful accident that came together out of an itch to rattle something out just for myself; a break from a bloated piece that had turned into a chore which burned me out and threw away the fun of scribbling. A lightweight read that saved me from being crushed by a cinderblock.
By the same token, the people on here have shouldered me up and out of the creative pit of thinking ‘This is all for nothing.’ For all that I talk of how much I’m powered by spite and the desire to Read a Specific Thing only to realize I Have to Write That Thing First, I’d be a liar if I said the kindness and excitement of the folks who’ve been reading my nonsense for (holy hell) TWO YEARS in the wake of the first big Dracula Daily surge didn’t have a major role in getting this thing done.
I did make The Vampyres for me. But it’s for you guys too. For everyone who saw one of my rambles or little fictions and spoke up to say, I love this! I was thinking this! I wanted this! Finally, finally!
When you crack open the cover for the first time, on a screen or in your hands, I want you to know I’m thinking Thank You at you. I hope you enjoy all the horrors inside.
Postscript:
If you want more info on other stuff I'm tinkering with, check out my website here:

Bucky Barnes Disabled History Reading List
Hey, y'all. I'm nervous about posting this, but it's part of my Captain America-centered history book reading lists! This topic was chosen from a poll of different history topics, and it won the vote to be posted first. If this subject doesn't interest you, my next list is LGBT+ history from the 1930s to the 1950s. I'm a historian by trade, but I work with the public to try to make history less intimidating. I worked VERY hard on this list so if you would be willing to "like", reblog or even comment, it would mean so much to me. I have 50+ books that I've read at least some of and reviewed. Note: These books all contain adult content and are graphic in nature. I put warnings where I could, but I have not been able to read all the books, so I can't give full warnings. Please be aware that some books are older and may contain language we wouldn't use today. Finally, I have tried to include library /archive links where I could, but not all of the ones I posted are accessible to everyone. I recommend Google Books for previews. I hope the pics are big enough, but I'll leave an Amazon link in case they aren't. Let's get started!

Amazon description. Archive source - limited availability.
I read this book years ago. Funny enough, one of the tuberculosis books I needed for my thesis was written by Katherine Ott. She’s a respected history of medicine historian. I found her writing to be pretty approachable and unflinching. (At least, in regards to the TB book I read.) However, some of her writing in the introduction is a bit dry and I admit I zoned out once or twice. But, this is a collection of essays and it’s not just her writing. The book is about more than WWII veterans, it’s also about breast prosthetics, eye prosthetics, facial prosthetics, hip prosthetics and numerous other subjects. The first chapter is about WWII veterans and the most pertinent to Bucky, but there is still value in the other chapters.  The chapter by David Serlin about WW2 vets is a LOT easier to read, imo. Serlin talks about masculinity and self worth and I think that works bang on with Bucky because Bucky was already dealing with his sense of masculinity and self worth before he fell off the train. I have a lot to say about this chapter if anyone ever wants my analysis. I’m flipping through the pages of the book to see how it holds up and I would still recommend it.

I read this book pretty recently. This book and A Queer History of the United States are both on these lists because A. They’re easy to read. B. They give a broad history of difficult topics. The book deals with physical and intellectual disabilities, with a few psychiatric disorders analyzed, too. It takes race, religion, and culture into account, so the stories are very diverse. However, the writing is very blunt, but it’s not for shock factor. It’s to gain an understanding of the writing of that time. Some of the content is a little hard to read in terms of the subject, so beware. Everyone from amputees to polio survivors to M.S. sufferers to blind and deaf people, and more, is included. This would actually work well with a pre-serum Steve's history.

I actually just finished this book a few weeks ago. As the description shows, it’s a really good post-WWII book about veterans coming home from the war, the chaos, and the PTSD that was never addressed. Such a good book about something that we haven’t really studied. The book follows three men - one who survived a POW camp, one who worked in the UK airfields, and one who became a double amputee after both of his legs were amputated. Highly recommend if you’re curious how Steve - but especially Bucky - could have been like after the war ended. However, content warning for domestic abuse and alcoholism. Yes, they’re uncomfortable subjects, but it’s crucial to realize that it CAN be a big part of soldiers coming home from war, whether 200 years ago, 100 years ago, or today. Sadly, I believe there is a chance that Bucky would have suffered from alcoholism if he didn’t have a strong enough support system. I’m basing this on his unkempt appearance and drinking alone in The First Avenger. Honestly, who could blame him? He was a POW and experimented on for months, and he felt like he was being replaced. I also read about challenges like there not even being enough clothes for veterans to buy once they returned home! This was a great book. It reads like a story. Btw, upon searching for this book on archive.org, I found TONS more books about ptsd and WWII, but this list is already long enough.
4.
Tumblr media
Amazon listing. Archive source not available. JSTOR requires account/subscription, but has it. The introduction for this book was really dry, and I was about to write it off, but then I started to read the first chapters, which were way more interesting than I thought! The book is very new and hasn’t been uploaded to archives or libraries yet. However, Google Books has a very lengthy preview of the first chapters. Again, subjects of masculinity and being a burden on society are two key themes, but each book on the list has tackled the subject differently. I was only able to read the first two chapters, which focused on early in the Selective Service, which Steve and Bucky would have both been put through. This is interesting because I believe Bucky would have had to lie to pass because he may have had some reservations about joining the military, BUT, I may be thinking too much of fanon Bucky. Steve …would have been a very interesting subject for screening. Lol This book can also be found on JSTOR, but you need to have an account or be connected to a school or library. I like what I’ve read and I’ll see if I can sail the seven seas to find the whole book. I really like it.
5.
Tumblr media
Amazon link. Archive source.
I’m actually reading this book now. While World War I is the focus of the book, the book covers everything from the Civil War to WWI, to WWII, Vietnam, and today. I think it’s important to see how developments happen in succession. The WWI veterans are interesting because Bucky and Steve would have grown up around a lot of them, and their perspectives would have been interesting. WWII veterans are obviously related, but I think the sections about veterans today are fascinating. This would be a good book to help with a Modern AU Bucky. The book isn’t too intimidating, and acronyms and names aren’t too overwhelming, either. He’s a pretty straightforward writer who is disabled himself. He is very respectful of the subject, and I can tell how much he cares about the subject. Being a burden on society was a huge focus as well as masculinity, but the “burden” aspect was more present, from what I could tell. Again, as with the other books, there are graphic sections. I really like the way he writes, and I’m definitely interested in reading the rest of the book.
6.
Tumblr media
Amazon source. Archive source - JSTOR requires account.
This book is a bit older and rather dry BUT it is a collection of historians writing about different subjects, so if you dislike one writer, you may prefer another. This is considered a foundational text in the history of disabled veterans. He claims to be the first historian to write about disabled veterans, but I disagree with him because there have been books for decades about veterans with PTSD, for example. As with the rest of the collection of essays, they are divided up by different subjects so you can pick and choose what you want to read. I have the book, but I haven’t read much of it. I reviewed it a bit before writing this and I have meh feelings on it. I would have to read more of it to give a fair review.
7.
Tumblr media
Amazon link. Archive - limited availability.
I actually really like this historian. He wrote the chapter about WWII amputees in the first book, and here, he has expanded upon that subject as well as others like transgender surgery, hormone therapy, and cosmetic surgery. He definitely talks about LGBT+ history and was one of the few historians who wrote about People of Color. He’s queer himself so that was a nice surprise. Be aware that this is an older book, and some of the terms he uses are no longer politically correct. However, I personally think it was the language of the time rather than any malice. (Meaning, He NEVER used any slurs, but most people prefer the term transgender rather than transsexual, for example. Although that may be a preference, I was told it was offensive to use the word transsexual)
His writing is easy to follow in my opinion and doesn’t tie the reader down with a billion names and acronyms. I wasn’t able to read much of the book, just what GoogleBooks was able to give me as a preview. I wish I could say more about the book. I like how he included masculinity in what I read, but I wasn’t able to read more. I’d recommend it if you can find it. That's the list! Let me know if you have any questions. DEFINITELY let me know if you plan to read any of these!

Out Now: Dam Breakers
Hello everyone! I'm extremely excited (and, quite frankly, more than a bit nervous) to announce that I finished my fantasy romance novel Dam Breakers!
For the very TLDR-version: It is available here! Be sure to read the disclaimer below, though.
First of all, thank you! Everyone who reads my stories or likes them shows me that there is at least some interest in my mediocre writing. And even though the novel is not exactly like my stories here (more to that later), it gives me hope that you and other people might like it.
Now, for the actual novel!
Tumblr media
Dam Breakers is the tale of Jared, a rather normal modern day college student, and Aleron, an apprentice mage living in a secluded tower with his teacher. One fateful day, they meet and are drawn into a maelstrom of magic, change and love - and dark secrets threatening to destroy everything they loved.
With over 120000 words, this is not only my longest story yet, but also my most carefully crafted one. I will attach an image of my Obsidian graph for the story at the end of the post.
Disclaimer:
As I have mentioned, it is a bit different from the stories I usually post here. First and foremost, it's a lot tamer. This novel isn't meant as a porn piece, but as an intriguing fantasy and romance tale. While there is love, desire and sex, of course, it's way more sparse and less explicit than, for example Closer Than Flesh.
It also features transformation themes, and the concept of change is one of the main focus points of the book, but, again, don't expect 500 pages full of transforming bodies because of it :)
And, finally, for a multitude of reasons, it does not contain AI generated images. I wouldn't be able to generate any that do the story justice, anyway.
Now that you know what not to expect, here are some things you MAY expect:
Transformation. Both in the sense of bodily changes but intriguing character development as well.
Gay Love. This is a story about two men from different worlds falling in love with each other, and their stony road to being together.
Magic. It's a fantasy story, and a truly enchanting one at that, with a fresh concept of magic and change.
Story. Last, but certainly not least, it's a good and interesting read, at least according to my opinion. Since I might be a bit biased here, let me tell you that my beta readers agree.
If you still want to read it (and I hope you do!), then you can grab your copy here:
If you are not in the US, you can just replace the .com with, for example, .co.uk to go to your local Amazon marketplace
I have not forgotten, of course, that I promised a special condition for you folks at Tumblr. Since Amazon makes it a bit difficult to actually implement that, I plan to offer a time limited discount or giveaway in a few weeks. I'll announce the exact time here on my blog beforehand.
If you really want to support me, it would mean a lot to me if you could leave a review on Amazon. That influences the algorithm a lot and helps the book get visibility, which is incredibly important . So, please, if you like the book, leave a review.
Teaser / Preview (mild spoilers)
And here is a short look into the book, from chapter 4. It contains some mild spoilers, but nothing too important. I also added an AI image, which is not in the book (see above).
[...]
Even though the weather was unstable, Jared enjoyed the journey through the vibrant spring land. It was a closeness to nature he had never experienced. Even back home with his parents, in rural Texas, the land had seemed different. Back there, the wilderness had been tamed decades if not centuries ago. There was no wonder, no adventure. Here, there were hills and forests, rivers and bogs, and who knew what else. It was as if Jared was seeing the world for the first time. Not to mention the smell. Jared could not remember a time when he had smelled the spring air like this.
In addition to the landscape, Jared's traveling companion also played a big part. Aleron was an intelligent and witty conversationalist, and Jared learned a lot about his new friend. They spoke of everything under the sun, and Jared told stories of his home, of modern inventions and the differences between this world and his. Even though Aleron was fascinated by his tales, he was also clearly skeptical about some of them, especially when it came to the more complex topics. That was only fair, though, as Jared himself had a hard time believing the fantastic stories of this world, even after having experienced some with his own eyes. Dragons, for example. It didn't matter how often Aleron recited what little information he had about those magnificent beasts, something in Jared resisted fully believing in them. He hoped that he would be able to see one of them for real - although Aleron repeatedly stressed how dangerous they were - in order to be able to fully believe in them.
While Aleron's world was certainly magical, it wasn't all like in the Lord of the Rings. There were, for example, no other humanoid races, as Jared learned. No elves, dwarves or orcs, at least to Aleron's knowledge, which, to be fair, mainly included the Kingdom of Myrthien. Although the Whispering Woods were not technically a part of Myrthien, and were generally considered wilderness, it was clear that they were no part of another nation either. The closest neighboring country to the Whispering Woods would either be the Golden Isles beyond the coast south of Eldoria or the Verdant Lands to the west. According to Aleron, the Verdant Lands couldn't really be considered a nation, too. It was more of a loose confederation of tribal communities, living in the characteristic dense forests of that region.
As Helena had promised, Luminara wasn't difficult to find. The capital of Myrthien was well known and if there was a sign post somewhere, it was sure to point to Luminara.
There was no shortage of smaller and bigger settlements, and about every third or fourth night they were able to sleep in beds. During the other nights, they made camp a bit off the road in order not to attract too much attention. It was one of those nights, about two weeks after they had left Eldoria, that Jared woke up in the middle of the night. Aleron, who was sleeping next to him, was moving in his sleep and occasionally made a sound, which had caused Flicker to gain a bit of distance to the sleeping man.
It was clear to Jared that his friend was dreaming, and he briefly considered waking him up from his nightmare. However, judging by the sounds, Jared began to suspect that Aleron was not having a nightmare but quite the opposite, although the dream seemed to be just as intense.
Quietly, he left the tent, careful not to wake the sleeping mage. Outside, he was greeted by the stars and a clear sky with an almost full moon. The campfire was almost dead, just a few embers and ashes were left. It was a quiet, peaceful night, and Jared decided to go to the nearby lake to drink. Aleron had never once shown a single sign of sexuality before, except for demonstrating a certain uneasiness around nudity and related topics. He never had commented on any woman - or man - in a suggestive way, so Jared had been half- convinced that this whole topic didn't have any relevance to the mage at all.
Of course, for his own reasons, Jared had avoided the subject as well, so, perhaps Aleron thought the same about him. Jared didn't mind that. As magical as this world was, he had yet to encounter a single sign of same-sex attraction. Perhaps this wasn't a thing here, biologically, or perhaps it was socially frowned upon, like in his world's medieval ages - or rural Texas, present day. In any case, there was absolutely no reason to bring that topic up, so he didn't. Not bringing up his sexuality was a sport he was very experienced in for 9 years straight now, after all.
As Jared neared the lake, he was feeling weird and tingly all over. It was not entirely unpleasant, but it stirred a vague memory in Jared. He had felt this feeling once before, but he couldn't quite recall when.
When he bent down to scoop some water into his hand, he stopped before his fingers touched the surface of the lake. The moon was bright, and Jared could see his reflection in the mirror-smooth water quite well. The only problem was that it was not him who was looking back at him.
Of course, there was a strong resemblance, but the details weren't right. His face looked somewhat stronger, his jawline a bit squarer. His hair a bit lighter and styled like the day he first stepped out of the mirror. On his chin, there was a short well-groomed beard even though he had shaved just last morning. It wasn't just his face, though. As he looked down on himself, he looked fitter than he should, as if he was visiting a gym regularly. In fact, the definition of muscle on his torso increased further, just as he was watching. Suddenly, the wonder was replaced by fear. He had felt that way before, and now he remembered when. It had been during his first visit to Aleron's world, when his body was 'destabilizing' as Aleron had put it. Given, the feeling had been stronger then, but it was definitely the same. And now, his body was changing again, and he was weeks of travel from the magic mirror.
Tumblr media
Half-panicking, he sprinted back to the tent, not caring about being quiet anymore. Perhaps Aleron knew what to do! He ducked into the entrance and called out to the mage.
"Aleron, wake up!"
Almost immediately, the apprentice jolted awake. "Jared? What is wrong?"
"I... don't know, it's me. Look at me!"
After a few words of encouragement, Flicker began burning brighter, allowing them to see in the tent as well. Aleron looked at the half-naked Jared critically for a few moments before asking: "Okay... what am I looking for?"
"Can't you see? I'm..." However, as Jared looked down on himself, everything was fine again. He was looking at his plain old self, just as he should look like. The tingling feeling was gone, too.
"Oh." Jared felt incredibly stupid all of a sudden. "I... must have been imagining things."
[...]
If you liked the teaser, be sure to give the whole thing a read :)
Let me close with another whole-hearted Thank You for your continued interest!
Stay awesome!
And here, as promised, a peek at the creative complexity of the story:

Happy Secret Samol @humanmorph !!! Yo ho ho a pirates life for you!
Id in alt text and also below the cut for legibility
Image one: An Alise Breka book cover. The illustration (meant to resemble an oil painting) features Leap and Figure A back to back, Figure A closer to the camera and Leap behind them. Leap is in a tie dye hoodie, Figure A has a dramatic collar welded to their round torso. Each are holding a sword and fending off attacks on all sides. Laser beams zip across the screen. The title of the book is “High Seas and Distant Stars” and is written on a yellow band across the top of the page. There is a simplified drawing of palisade as a logo for Palisade Publishing. There is a barcode across the bottom left.
Image two and three: Mockup of the inside of the book. Text reads:
The pirate captain, devastatingly handsome — or devastating and handsome, if you put the question to the unlucky sailors across many planet’s seas — lounged about the deck of the ship. A foul wind had blown through the port in the night, and showed no signs of letting up anytime soon. Disadvantageous, and perhaps more terribly, incredibly dull. Exeter Leap had faced down gods and kings and only laughed in their faces; to be trapped here by a measly turn in the weather made his plating itch.
They’d been here a week already, despite no small effort to leave. Unloading, his first mate insisted, takes time if they want it done properly. Leap had insisted he’d never done anything properly in his life and didn’t plan on starting now, but Figure A had tilted their head in that way they had and explained that properly meant more money, which, he supposed, was hard to argue with. Especially considering their other delay. The Bluebird had taken substantial cannon fire in their last battle, and was desperately in need of repairs, as well as the more tedious maintenance work that went into keeping a ship of its size and purpose in fit fighting shape.
So the minutes ticked into hours ticked into days, and here they are, still.
“I’m not a man meant to stay still,” he complains, staring out over the roiling waves.
”Still: up to and including the present or the time mentioned, or still: not moving or making a sound?”
Leap jumps, but only slightly. A pirate can never be too surprised, but he hadn’t realized he had company, lost in thoughts as turbulent as the sea. The familiar red and gold form of his friend leaning next to him is a welcome sight. “Oh- Uh. Both. Either. Not still here, or still physically.”
Figure A nods in easy understanding. They’re better at patience, at being in one place, but Leap thinks they have something restless about them, too. They lean forward as if they have something more to say but then-! A shout! The familiar blistering heat of a laser beam sipping past inches from his face! A scorch mark across metal! Leaps springs into action as

Opening Writing Commissions
Hi!! Finally decided to start using a hobby that I've loved doing to give myself a few extra things to do on the side, whilst earning a few bucks too! Personally, I really like writing Yuri and romance in general but I don't find myself limited to that genre, dabbling a lot in horror and adventure before.
What's off Limits? Underage, NonCon, Necro, Incest, Sexualized Gore.
What's on Limits? Anything, even explicit, apart from those things and a few things listed below. If you're unsure about some stuff, just ask me, cause there might be things I'm uncomfy with that I forgot to put in there.
What franchises can I request? Anything! As long as you give me some time to take in the character and their worlds whilst asking you a few questions on the side. The franchises I am already deeply familiar with are: Games: Deepwoken, Phighting, All Project Moon Media, FNAF (but not the books), Ultrakill, UT/DR, Omori (Off Limits for Explicit), TBoI (Off Limits for Explicit), Team Fortress 2, Celeste, Hollow Knight, Rain World, Signalis, Hades, Awaria, Helltaker, Phoenotopia, Postknight, Genshin (though I stopped playing after Fontaine) Shows: Arcane, Adventure Time, Gravity Falls (Off Limits for Explicit), Chainsaw Man, Frieren, DunMeshi, DanDaDan, Mob Psycho (Off Limits for Explicit), Evangelion, RWBY My Portfolio (for now): https://archiveofourown.org/users/RenewedSanguineFaith/works Though, keep in mind that this is mostly a lot of old stuff, because more of the recent stuff I've done, are things I'd like to keep private. I'd also like to hope that the previews I give during writing will represent my current and proper writing style. What's your rates? Generally 1 USD every 150 words, with an upfront, unchanging 5 dollars if your request is explicit (this isn't 5 dollars per 150, just 5 dollars on top if it's a smut fic). So you're looking at about 10 USD for a 1500 word 5 page, 11 size Merriweather font, short lil fic, and another 10 USD for each chapter of similar size beyond that, priced accordingly if word counts differ, of course.
There's also always the negotiation of prices available at the first communication up to the midpoint preview for the fic, so we can always insure that you have a fair price for what you're getting for it That's It? That's everything! If you're seeing this after I talked to you about it on some other platform, then let's get to negotiations so I can send you my paypal and stuff! If you're someone who found this post through tags and are interested, first of all thanking for reading all of that, secondly you're free to DM me here on Tumblr (sorry if im ever late, i might be busy so sorry @_@) for any talks with me being free on Discord and Bluesky as well if you'd like to request to talk there instead. Toodles!

His Sacred Incantations NOW IN AUDIOBOOK FORM!
(Y'all I basically had to fistfight Adobe Premiere in an alley to get that preview made, please clap.)
Yes, Tumblr! It's happening! It has happened! The His Sacred Incantations audiobook is finally available, and you're hearing about it now! Fifteen hours of femdom fantasy adventure coming straight to your earholes! Bondage! Pegging! A really cool fight with a necromancer! At least one dragon! This story has everything, and now you can listen to it!
I am so, so delighted that Martin Martinez was willing to come back for the second book to complete Lucían and Glory's story. When I'm reviewing the audiobooks I no longer hear a narrator doing a voice, I just hear Lucían and Glory's voices, which is an incredible testament to Martin's performance. He had a fantastic time reading this (which I know for a fact because he reached out to me to say these were his favorite books he's never narrated) and that comes across in the audio.
Some narrators might be intimidated by a book that's 25% sex scene by volume (I did the math once) but not Martin! He put his whole ass and libido into reading the kink scenes, and then Antoine Bandele of AB Book Services took his raw reading and added musical stings and special effects that really elevate the entire auditory experience. It's truly everything I could possibly have wanted from an audiobook.
Also! In celebration of the book being available, I'm putting the His Secret Illuminations audiobook on sale on my website for 50% off! Grab both at a savings, and settle in for thirty whole hours of Martin's wonderful voice and my wild story.
Where can I buy it?
Right now? Just on my website! It's been submitted to Audible and also for wider distribution through Author's Republic, but those take time to percolate through the system and my website is almost immediate!
As with the His Secret Illuminations audiobook, I had to break it into five parts in order to get around the file size limit. Everything I sell through my website is DRM free, and I get the entire cover price instead of only 25-50%. It's the best way to directly support me, and once you have it, you own the files and no one can take them away from you.
More retailers will be coming soon, but as Patrons you get the direct link and the first announcement!
How can I help out?
Spread the word about the audio book! Y'all have the sneak peek, but I'll be sharing this on social media in the next couple of days. Like, reskeet, reblog, reshare, leave good reviews of the audio book where appropriate--all of that is a huge help to me, someone who is her own marketing department. Also, as mentioned in a previous update, I just left my day job, so writing is now my only income. Word of mouth has been my most valuable tool, so I want to thank every one of you who has ever recommended my books to a friend! You're helping keep weird art alive!
Grab the recording, and settle in for a horny weekend, Patrons!

Hi, I was reading the Violet Core Backer Preview and was kind of curious about something that stood out to me. Throughout the text you talk about the importance of gender expression in play and in the setting of the game as written. These two paragraphs from the "Gender Expression and Sexuality in the Reach" section caught my attention:
In The Reach more than any other faction there can still be problems with generational gaps. Currently they are largely patriarchal and authority figures and the older generation may not necessarily fully understand or support of what they perceive as newer or uncommon gender expressions and may have more rigid expectations of the Pilots. These expressions are not seen as a problem as long as these individuals are not being 'disruptive'.
...
The Cosmic Embrace is the most clearly diverse faction and have a higher number of non-binary people and trans men compared to the other factions. They have a culture that mixes an ethos of kindness with 'I have this brick I painted pride colours' rebellion.
When the text states that the Reach is "largely patriarchal" and allow "uncommon gender expressions" as long as they are not "disruptive" who is meant to be considered disruptive in this system? Why is the presence of trans men and nonbinary people specifically the marker of the the Embrace being the "most clearly diverse?"
I understand that the game is a work in progress, but what is the absence of trans women from this section, and the lack of mention of trans women or transfemininty anywhere in the 63 pages of text, meant to imply about the world of the Violet Core and the place of transfemininty in it? Is this intentional or oversight?
Thanks.
Heya, thanks for the questions!
Trans women are women and trans lesbians are lesbians. I guess the game doesn't state it super directly, which is kinda a surprise to myself, but the assumption of myself and the game is that over half the players and characters of the game are gunna be lesbian trans women. It's the first options listed on all the character sheets and the game talks about different transition options and their availability in that same section you described :3 I'll copy and paste it here for convenience: “When it comes to gender identity and expression it's not uncommon for children to not be assigned a gender at birth, allowing that individual to discover and express themselves in their own time. They/Them pronouns are very commonly used by the most recent couple of generations. On occasion there can be problems with medicine shortages including HRT treatments, especially within the HomeBound. However most trans folk living in the reach have access to life-saving genetherapy treatment, a one-off medical procedure that has permanent ongoing benefits and is generally regarded as much safer and more effective than older style HRT.
Transitional Genetherapy is the most widely used method of what you could call 'stage 1' medical transition. There are also advanced methods of full medical transition available especially in The Reach and Cosmic Embrace factions. Additionally a ReBuilt individual has the option to customize her body in a way that suits her gender identity with a wide variety of ways and styles.” Having said that, it would be pretty easy for me to make that a touch clearer in the book if that didn't come through implicitly.
The three factions in Violet Core are messy. None of them are exactly 'in the right' and they all have different problems, with some being more obvious than others.
The Reach is clearly the faction with the most obvious problems.
Unless they adapt, they usually default to serve the antagonistic role of 'the System' or 'Status Quo' in a given game. They have a very rigid way of doing things, with a horrible familiar mix of hierarchy and bureaucracy. They like their boxes to be ticked nice and clean and aren't a fan of making new boxes on their reports. A trans girl who has transitioned within the Reach will probably have the sort of awful 'jumping through endless hoops' experience that a lot of girls do now, and a non-binary Pilot with pronouns other than 'they/them' are likely going to have a trickier time getting by than other Pilots might. As a player, Pilots of the Reach often rebel against them, steal their stuff and jet off with a big middle finger. I've seen it happen a bunch of times and it's always been cathartic.
Cosmic Embrace on the other hand is much more supportive and easily takes in all kinds. They are much more free spirited in general. Their imperfection comes from a combination of lack of resources and being cult-like in their devotion to the Deva (their appointed authority figure) and their mission. They are like the punk-squat of the setting that has a core that could turn benevolent or rotten just as easily depending on what stresses are put upon them in a given game.
In contrast, the Homebound are more militant and direct but are often short sighted. While the younger generations of Homebound are more intersectional, I tend to play their older authority figures as inclusive but in the way an aunt might say something like 'I don't care if you are a boy or a girl or purple, I love you all the same' ...which, I mean they are trying but they don't really get it. Think of them as a little bit like late second-wave feminism or the Riot Grrrl movement, they attempted to make a cool space for women, but it's flawed and needs to adapt and change.
Each of the factions are designed to give different types of hurdles for players to struggle against and overcome.

I've come to ask about the best website to read John or Henry Laurens letters! I've started John's biography and I wanted to extend it a little bit with the letters. (I'm in the Generva period of his life and I know most of the letters John had written by himself are missing, but it would be good to read his father's letters to him from that period!) And for me one of the most interesting parts of his life is John's visit to Paris and also his childhood. If you know, can you tell me where to look for more information on those topics? I would be very grateful! I love your research posts! And I absolutely adore the fact you are from Europe (If I'm not wrong) interested in Laurens and amrev! I'm from Poland and I absolutely adore those American history figures too ! Have a nice day!  Thanks if you find time to answer! <3
Witam, przyjacielu!
As you say, many of the letters from the period you're interested in are lost, and there is little information about John's childhood beyond what is scattered in mentions throughout Henry's letters. But the volume picks up once the Laurenses travel to England in 1771!
There are two main sources that I use for letters by both John and Henry from your selected time period (which is also my favourite time to read about!)
The first is the digital repositories of the University of South Carolina Libraries, which holds (as far as I'm aware) the biggest collection of John's letters. This is where you will find much of his earliest writing, including lots of interesting letters to his uncle James. The search tool takes some getting used to, and the downside is that many of the letters have not been transcribed – so you need to be comfortable reading 18th century cursive.
The second source – the published volumes of The Papers of Henry Laurens – is a bit harder to track down. I've managed to buy physical copies of the volumes I'm most interested in, and a few of them are available on Google Books (with a limited preview). These are the ones most relevant to you:
Volume 7 (1 Aug 1769 - 9 Oct 1771)
Volume 8 (10 Oct 1771 - 19 Apr 1773)
Volume 9 (19 Apr 1773 - 12 Dec 1774)
Volume 11 (5 Jan 1776 - 1 Nov 1777)
(I haven't managed to find a digital version of Vol 10, alas.)
If you have access to a good academic library, it's possible that they will have copies, or will be able to get them for you through interlibrary loan.
Beyond these, there are single letters scattered around here and there, and once you get into John's military and diplomatic service, much of his writing is included in the Library of Congress archives. (Good luck.) JSTOR has published versions of some of their letter exchanges too, just search for their names.
Of course, the other person to consult is our esteemed @john-laurens, who has compiled tons of handy resources like a list of where to find all the Laurens-Kinloch letters. These aren't always easy to find thanks to Tumblr search, but I'm sure they'd be happy to point you to the relevant posts!
I'd be delighted to share any specific resources or thoughts if you have questions that come up during your reading, so feel free to ask!

"Nimona" fandom informational rundown
New to the fandom and a bit confused about things? Hopefully this will help!
Tumblr media
Nimona was a webcomic by Nate Diana Stevenson/ND Stevenson that was first shown on tumblr on December 14, 2011, and Nate later launched it as an official webcomic on its own website on June 19, 2012. It was contracted for publication post-completion as a graphic novel sometime before November 1, 2012. The webcomic finished online publication on September 30, 2014. Shortly afterward, most of the webcomic was taken down as part of the contractual agreement for publication as a physical graphic novel, leaving only a short bit of the opening as a preview. The website for the webcomic later went down entirely, and is no longer accessible.
The comic was published in entirety as a single graphic novel on May 12, 2015. The movie adaptation rights were sold to Fox in 2015, as well, and the project was given to Blue Sky Studios. The comic was later adapted into a full cast audiobook on October 4, 2016. The graphic novel is available for purchase in paperback, hardcover, and as an ebook, and the audiobook is also available for purchase. (The link has international seller links). The graphic novel has been translated into 16 languages. It is also available in a special edition English hardcover via Illumicrate. They only ship from the UK, but ship internationally, and you don't need a subscription to buy the book. As the standard graphic novel and audiobook are ~7+ years old now, if you have a local library, you can see if either of them are available that way.
Disney bought 20th Century Fox Animation (later 20th Century Animation, the purchase completed in 2019), but later shut down Blue Sky Studios in 2021, cancelling the still-in-production movie. Crew worked on shopping the movie around for a new home after talks with Disney. The movie was later picked up and completed by Annapurna, DNEG, and Netflix, premiered June 14, 2023 in France, showed in select theaters starting principally on June 23, 2023, and released to general audiences on Netflix for streaming on June 30, 2023. I have more info on this here.
Tumblr media
In English, Nimona is voiced by Chloë Grace Moretz, Ballister Boldheart is voiced by Riz Ahmed, and Ambrosius Goldenloin is voiced by Eugene Lee Yang.
If you're looking for official merch, the movie soundtrack is up on multiple platforms, including YouTube, iOS, Spotify, and Amazon, and a vinyl version of the soundtrack was sold by iam8bit. There is an official humanoid Nimona plushie, a whale Nimona plushie, and a shark Nimona plushie, available via Gee and Hot Topic, as well as a variety of official shirts available via Hot Topic and Amazon (just search Brand: Nimona). Nate also still sells "Nimona" comic art on his INPRNT store.
Netflix released a free-to-read digital-only multimedia 358-page artbook for the movie (but took it down in March 2024). (It's also been released at least for crew/friends of crew(?) in physical release, so maybe it'll get mass release as a hardcover). Outside of this, a lot of the crew for the movie from both Blue Sky and DNEG have been releasing a ton of concept art and development stuff, and the cast and crew have been doing a lot of promotional interviews and videos going back through like April 2023, so there's a lot of material to look through on YouTube, tiktok, tumblr, twitter, Instagram, Facebook/Meta, and Vimeo, as well as various news and media sites. Nate is active on tumblr, his personal blog, twitter, and Instagram. Annapurna, DNEG, and Netflix also have multiple accounts on many platforms, including their own websites, YouTube, Facebook/Meta, and Twitter, and have been sharing clips and behind the scenes stuff.
Nimona actually has been added to a video game: Nimona was included as an event companion in SharkBite 2, a Roblox game.
If you're looking for fanworks, the fandom is active on most platforms, and has been ever since Nate started posting early art of the characters. Nate's talked at length in multiple places about how big the fandom was during the webcomic's publication. Mostly back then folks were very active in the Disqus comments on pages, which are a bit harder to find these days. There's a lot of the older comic fanart still circulating in different places (particularly tumblr, where the fandom was most active), some of which Nate reblogged. There is crossover between the comic and movie fandoms, as many fans of the comic love the movie and vice versa, and both fandoms are quite active. There is at least one active subreddit and fanwiki (and many others on assorted fantasy, comic, movie, and non-English language sites), as well as TV Tropes pages for both the comic and movie adaptation and a number of Discord servers.
For fanfiction, there are a ton of fics on Archive of Our Own in the comic tag and in the movie adaptation tag. There are also a number of fics on tumblr, some fics on fanfiction.net, and some on Wattpad. There are fanvids on tiktok, Instagram, and YouTube. There is fanart on tumblr, twitter, deviantart, instagram, and pixiv. There are cosplayers, meta analysts, roleplayers, music makers, and many other fanworkers

do you have a guide as to the extra materials for The Dragon Prince? i keep seeing stuff about comics or books but idk where to start
Not on hand but I can make one here! :D
There are two, soon to be three, canon graphic novels.
Through the Moon takes place between seasons 3 and 4, like a little season 3.5 It isn't Necessary to read it before watching S4 but the story is cool and the extra information is neat. It feels like we might get more info regarding what happened to Rayla while she was gone later in the show
Bloodmoon Huntress takes place when Rayla is a child around when her parents leave. Lots of Runaan and Ethari, also introduces Kim'dael who will be in S5. Again, not Required reading but a fun extra story.
Puzzle House is coming out August 1st and is about Claudia and Soren as children, and we also get a look at younger Viren and other people. Harrow's father, King Atticus is still king in this one so interesting Katolis lore, SUPER hyped for when we get to read all of this one. The Scholastic link has a 15 pages preview if you wanna take a peek.
There are novelizations for Dragon Prince Season 1 and Season 2, they add a bit of introspection and small extra details. Viren in particular gets more of his internal thought processes laid out and for me it just Confirmed a lot of things. Season 3's novelization is coming out April 2nd, 2024. I'm sure all 7 seasons will eventually have novelizations.
Tales of Xadia is the ttrpg book and it's gorgeous and is probably the most lore heavy supplemental material as far as world building goes. The system also looks fun! The website has a character builder too for OC making. As a writer, it's been a great help as far as seeing some aspects of the world laid out. The system looks fun and there are videos of some of the cortex(?) team playing ToX official tales/campaigns but I haven't watched them yet. The campaigns are also available to look at online too.
I think that ToX is getting an expansion at some point since the base game doesn't touch much on Ocean or Star magic, I imagine due to spoilers for the seasons we're coming up on.
There's also a tabletop game called Battlecharged which I haven't personally played and I don't think it Adds lore but I've heard it's fun.
Also, it will likely be a long time before we see it, but there's a video game in the works as well that's in alpha testing right now called Project Arcanum. Wonderstorm is pretty busy!
BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE
The Free Stuff:
Reflections are official short stories hosted on TDP's website and all of them are excellent and provide little extra scenes. Some of them are quite impactful, and the ones in this second batch are promising an absolutely wild S5. The first batch was released pre S4 and the second batch is being released now pre S5 as we count down to the new season. They aren't Required reading since the most key information from them will be in the show (going by the S4 ones) but I highly HIGHLY rec reading them all. Banger after banger. As of posting this there may be one more coming.
There's also little 4 panel comics called Everyday Xadia that have been also released during countdown mode and they're just fun/cute. Volume One and Volume 2 (still coming out). Sometimes when people say comics they might mean these, or the graphic novels lol.
Thank you for the ask, I'm always happy to share the TDP love and I hope this was helpful to you and anyone else who'd like a ref!

Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Disclaimer: This is not my work. I am in no way affiliated with the artist. I just want to show off artists that I think need more attention. I also don't have anyone I can talk to about the rabbit hole I've gone down that is Good Omens doujins. I will supply links to their social media and where you can find the publications (If available))
Phew there's so much to take pictures of... I even found out that there's Helluva Boss doujins! Maybe I should post some of those too... The issue, though, is the majority of them are R-18. Like... Obviously so. Would that even fly on Tumblr? Hm... Well, now for something completely different!
This is After The Happy Ending by Tsukiko
So Aziraphale and Crowley have officially decided to become a couple! Yay! They have their own home and are living together in domestic bliss! Yay! But... How exactly do you... couple? The two try to figure out how to express their love to each other in the most wholesome way possible.
You read that right, this is not an R-18 book! There is some heated kissing about half way through the book, but a good portion of it is them trying to figure out what kissing and touching is to them. If you've seen that meme of two people trying to kiss with the text 'expected a kiss with tongue'? Ya that's this book!
As I mentioned previously, Tsukiko's art style is very shojo-esque and you can kinda see the evolution of their style when you compare the two books. It's kinda interesting I've never seen this in the books I've collected. Still, it fits the story they're telling. On their Twitter they expressed concern that their style wouldn't fit a more 'serious' tone in comparison to Happily Ever After, but I think they succeeded! Besides, they haven't foregone the comedy. But it is definitely more focused on the two being very ace...
The book is the same size and style as their previous book, so the two look very nice side by side on the shelf. Tsukiko has a way with color too! I don't think I ever pointed that out, but especially here and their next book? It's so pastel and cute and it gives me diabetes!!!
Good news is that this book is still available on their Booth! (Link is above). You do not need any prior knowledge of Happily Ever After to read this. Sure it's a nice through line, but it doesn't make any reference to the previous book! Definitely look it up! They deserve more eyes on their work :3 Also, their most recent book Planet Picnic is up for sale! I'm waiting for my order to ship but from the previews, it's a comedic book of the two exploring space! Also, they are selling a keychain that is super cute and shiny!!
