i’ve been thinking about the transfem! abbacchio headcanon and while i do not think it necessary to have in-source backup for a headcanon, i think the narrative reading of abbacchio as transfeminine could flesh out the character further

i think the reading of abbacchio particularly as transfeminine and nonbinary is interesting if you look at societal institutions that they upheld as a cop as allegorical for masculinity itself, so when she eventually cannot measure up to those impossible standards and can no longer put up a front about it, the realization she is made to face means they have to come to terms with existing outside of that system. by existing outside of said systems/institutions, though also existing within a marginal, liminal space, she presents herself more femininely and also more honestly - no longer forcing herself into a mold of what is expected of them by others or themself, almost an antithesis to how she presented before.

i rewatched the entirety of part five in the span it took to make this. Details about the lore and characters below the cut ^_^

Ok. I will be separating this based on character… in an attempt to be more organized. Included will also be my friend’s description that she gave for each character upon seeing the drawing.

Giorno Giovanna — Race, half vampire. Stand name, Gaia. Unfortunately lost his silly victory rolls, which have been replaced with donut shaped curls. Has a dream of usurping the Crimson King and ending his oppressive reign.

Friend’s Description: “‘pink is still manly for this era guys trust’”

Trish Una — Race, human(?). Stand name, Spice. I like to think she tries to maintain an air of elegance and superiority, but she’s just a kid who doesn’t particularly want to be in the situation she’s in. The princess of an underground kingdom? No way. She just wants to be Trish.

Friend’s Description: “Noblelady”

Guido Mista — Race, human. Stand name, Coitus Cluster (good god the creative juices are NOT flowing). Best archer, like, ever. Probably enjoys animal furs but is too broke to get any. Stinky loser.

He hides in the body of a halfling named Vinegar Doppio… though they are two completely separate entities.

- Fugo seems to always be slightly confused by your love and affection towards him. He knows all of his flaws and all of the things he should but cannot change about himself so why love him? Are you sure about that?

- At the initial phase of the relationship, he still is a bit reluctant to your affection, mainly because of his past. He needs time, to be understood, and you to let him take the lead with the pace of the relationship. If you accept this, he again considers himself too lucky.

- Fugo's love language is acts of service and words of affirmation, the latter comes in time. He is there anytime you need anything and loves doing things for you. He will also like to compliment you from time to time, but he won't be overwhelming.

- He is not opposed to pda but only if it's not too much or too obvious. It's tricky. He enjoys holding your hand, and caressing your back, but kissing? That might be too much for him in public.

- Something unexpected is that he gets clumsy because of you. Everyone notices how he starts stumbling or dropping things by accident and they start teasing him about genuinely "falling" in love.

- There's a big inner battle in him when trying to decide if he should tell you that he thinks of leaving the team. It's tearing him apart because he knows that if he leaves the team behind, he leaves you behind.

- Fugo is definitely the type to sit next to the bathtub as you take a bath and read something to you so you can relax more. His voice is calm and before turning the page, he steals a glance at you with loving eyes.

- From a young age, Fugo was a studious person and old habits die hard, and now his favorite subject is you. He likes to observe you when you're not paying attention to him. When you read, he's next to you, reading something as well. However, if you pay close attention you'll notice how he just won't turn the page in a few good minutes. You can tell he's distracted but can you tell why?

- When he snaps out of that trance, he just clears his throat and asks you about what you're reading. As you explain, he inches closer with a look in his eyes that tells you that he wants something right then and there, nodding and listening to you. His intentions are clear when he gets close enough to straddle you and take the book from your hands to put it away.

- With you, Fugo is surprised to discover how useful intimacy is when it comes to daily self-control. As you two get more intimate, his anger fits diminishes in frequency. It's like a balance.

- As mentioned before, Fugo needs to feel like he is taking the lead to feel comfortable with everything that's going on and that goes into the bedroom as well. He is very careful soft dom in bed. Him being the one to take care of you and decide the next move puts him at ease immensely but it also gives him confidence.

He feels more connected to the group through you. It's like you took him by the hand and brought him closer to the others. He will be forever grateful for that.

- Kakyoin is introverted by nature and has a complex personality so there are some aspects that you need to know in the initial phase of the relationship. He might act differently than how he truly wants to act just to make sure nothing bothers you. If you encourage him, he'll slowly show his true beautiful colors until he becomes totally comfortable with just being himself around you.

- As he opens up in the relationship, you discover a new side of him, one that's more playful and bold. This is when you understand that besides acts of service as his love language, there is also physical touch as a way to express his strong emotions.

- Because you're so perfect in his eyes, Kakyoin wants to impress you but has no idea how. He makes the greatest mistake to ask the group for advice. However, he's smart enough not to follow their suggestions. So he feels defeated. He doesn't know that it's the little things he does that impress you. Little things such as: always opening the door for you, placing his hand on your lower back protectively, making sure you're hydrated, lending you his jacket if you're cold, telling you how beautiful you look when he wakes up next to you, and so on.

- His favorite gesture to remind you that he's there for you is to put a strand of hair between your ear and kiss your cheek.

- Kakyoin will notice a change in your mood immediately, you won't be able to hide it from him. He asks what you need, to be heard, to be distracted, or to get an opinion. He goes a long way to make sure you're alright, you're too precious to him.

- Call him your cherry boy and he's putty in your hands, blushing and looking at you with big eyes. If you play with his curl too, he's done.

- Wants to present you to his parents one day. He is just so happy he's not alone anymore and wants to share it with his dear ones. And let me tell you, his parents will adore you.

- Kakyoin often thinks of ways to spoil you and show his appreciation to you in different and authentic ways. He saves some money and takes you to a date at your favorite library and tells you to choose any book you want without a care.

- You're art to him, his muse, and that's why his sketchbook is filled with you. His favorite scene? When you're curled up in an armchair, lost in a book. However, there might be other sketches that are a little bit suggestive and maybe explicit. He usually tries to draw them from memory and as he replays the intimate scenes in his mind, he feels overwhelmed and hot under his clothes.

- Kakyoin is a total switch in bed but might be leaning more toward being submissive. Again, you can overwhelm him very easily, use it wisely. He gets dominant only if you tease him too much and wants to get revenge.

- He's a big experimentalist, wanting to try everything once with you. The result of this is that he will develop many kinks. I feel like one of his favorites is Shibari, done on you. Giorno, with his usual calm demeanor, raises an eyebrow. He’s used to chaos, but he’s definitely not used to tipsy confessions. “A sunflower?” he repeats, amused. He places you gently on a couch, listening to you ramble about his beauty and leadership. He doesn’t say much, but there’s a faint smile on his face. Later, he softly says, “Let’s talk about this when you’re feeling better. But… thank you.”

Post-Confession: He’ll probably bring it up again when you’re sober, teasing you just a little to see if you really meant what you said.

Bruno Bucciarati

You’re all having drinks after a successful mission, and suddenly you blurt out, “Bruno, I love the way you… zip things. So smooth!” Everyone goes silent. Bruno looks at you with a warm smile, trying not to laugh. “Well, I’m glad you appreciate my… zippers.” He pats your head, guiding you to sit back down before you get any more wild ideas. He’s incredibly gentle and would just let you keep talking while making sure you don’t hurt yourself or embarrass yourself too much.

Post-Confession: The next day, he’d check in with you, “So… about those zippers? Or was there something else you wanted to tell me?” with a playful grin.

Leone Abbacchio

Abbacchio is sitting in the corner with his usual glass of wine, and you stumble up to him, pointing at him accusingly, “Why’re you so… grumpy all the time? I like it! He tries to brush it off like it’s no big deal, but you can tell he’s secretly enjoying the attention. He’s a little softer with you after that, making sure you get some water before you pass out.

Post-Confession: He might act like it never happened, but you’ll notice he’s less harsh on you moving forward—maybe a bit more protective.

Guido Mista

You’re both laughing and joking around when, in the middle of your giggles, you grab his arm and say, “Mista… you’re like… my favorite bullet. I love you!” Mista nearly chokes on his drink, his face going bright red. “H-Huh?! Your favorite bullet?!” He’s totally flustered and doesn’t know what to say at first, but he quickly snaps back into his usual self. “Well, guess that makes me lucky number 7, huh?” He leans into the joke to hide how nervous he is, but he’s secretly thrilled you confessed.

Post-Confession: He’s going to tease you endlessly about this, asking you which bullet you love the most. But he’ll also get a bit more flirtatious, dropping hints that he feels the same.

Narancia Ghirga

Narancia’s just dancing around, being his usual hyper self, when you grab him by the shoulders and shout, “You’re the coolest, Narancia! I love you!” He freezes, eyes wide in shock, before bursting into a huge, goofy grin. “You love me?!” He’s so excited that he doesn’t even process that you’re drunk. He picks you up and spins you around in a fit of joy, totally oblivious to the awkwardness. He’s like, “I love you too!” without thinking twice about it.

Post-Confession: Narancia’s going to remember this for sure, and he’s going to tell everyone about it, probably much to your embarrassment later. But he’ll also be extra sweet with you from now on, even more protective than usual.

Pannacotta Fugo

You stumble up to him, poking his chest. “You’re so… smart and stuff. But you gotta… chill out. I love you, but like… chill.” You slur, swaying a bit. Fugo goes completely red, his mind racing a mile a minute. He’s not great with emotions on a good day, so this is throwing him for a loop. “You’re… you’re drunk,” he stammers, trying to keep his cool. He’ll likely try to steer you toward bed and get you some water, all while avoiding eye contact. Inside, he’s panicking, unsure if he should bring it up later or just pretend it never happened.

Post-Confession: He’ll be super awkward around you for a while, but he’ll also be much more conscious of your feelings, acting softer and more considerate toward you. He might even confess his own feelings down the line.

Trish Una

You approach Trish, swaying a little, and tell her, “You’re so strong and amazing�� I think I might love you…” Trish would blink in surprise, not really used to someone confessing to her in such a straightforward way—especially not while they’re drunk. She’d laugh it off, patting your shoulder, “You’ve had too much to drink. But thanks, I guess?” She wouldn’t take it seriously at first, but she’d appreciate the compliment.

It's okay, he can understand that you need some time to adjust to your new life..

Leone is a more reticent person. He probably wouldn't tell you about his stand's ability just to have a trick up his sleeve. So when he starts to notice that your behavior suddenly changed - maybe you become too obedient after throwing tantrums almost every day or stop threatening him to run away and call the police - he would immediately understand you find a way to actually escape him.

He can be pretty sadistic and has already punished you many times but now it's time to actually teach you a lesson and fuck not with your body but with your brain. All he needs to do is just use his stand to imitate his appearance to make sure you understand that you're ALWAYS watched. Would love to see the terror on your face when you got scared by seeing him in the living room - didn't he just walk away to the kitchen?! How can he be so fast? Is he actually just teleporting everywhere you go?

The satisfied smirk on his face just makes it all worse. What's wrong, did Leona actually break your spirit that fast? Well, although it was sometimes quite amusing to see your attempts to fight back, it can be tiring and annoying. Leona's more a fan of you being quiet and obedient, too scared to say something when he pressed you against the wall again with his hands already under your shirt.

Fugo

ohh the emotional swings from Fugo. He actually wants to be soft with you and pamper you like a porcelain doll, yet your whines about wanting to go home and these stupid attempts to run away are driving him insane. It's a miracle he still didn't kill you, you know? Both with his stand and his bare hands.

He's kissing bruises on your body with the most gentle apologizing whisper in one second, then making new ones the next. Most of the time it's just him himself, but sometimes, especially when he coughs you in the middle of another try to escape, wouldn't mind using his stand. More exactly would be too overwhelmed with rage to notice he used Purple Haze, but would quickly calm himself down TO NOT actually release some deadly virus.

So, as Fugo can't physically use his stand to stop you, he would just threaten you with it. He's smart enough to find good words to make guilt stuck in the back of your mind. YOU'RE the ungrateful brat here, throwing away all the hard work he did just for you. He's literally trying his best to be the ideal boyfriend, but instead of supporting him you just keep pushing him away, driving him insane! Sorry but he's loving you too much, so maybe he should actually use his ability and let you both die in embrace of each other and have a fresh state in another life?

And despite it all sounds ridiculous, the mad expression on his face makes you think that even if this man's bluffing there's still too much compulsivity in him that can make these threats become true.

Giorno

Giorno is a straight up gaslighter tbh.

If he noticed you from behind then wouldn't even bother to notify you that you're caught in the act. All he will do is turn a doorknob into something you are afraid of - snakes, for example. Or maybe the window frame will suddenly become vines that will wrap around your wrist the second you climb up on the windowsill. And even if you would be brave enough to point it out he would just act like he didn't do anything.

If he walks in and faces you in the middle of breaking the lock, he's still pretty chill. Giorno doesn't care that you have a screwdriver in your hand, he will just softly talk with you and ask what are you doing here while slowly dragging you away from the door. There's a cake he bought to enjoy together after dinner and some free time from his work that he wants to spend with you on his laps.

Yet if you proceed to fight back then this is the time when he would use his stand to punch you. Not too strong, just enough to use his ability to literally 'push' your mind away from the body. And while you're standing here, full of sudden energy and power, you're still unable to do anything, only able to watch as Giorno carefully carries your body back to the bedroom while talking about having some nice cuddle session with you.

And by the time you will come to your senses, you will be already trapped in his grasp, feeling smooth kisses down your neck.

“Pesci Pesci Pesci baby please—it’s not what you think.” You were quick to do damage control.

“Is it because I’m not as attractive as Bucciarati and his goons???” He sniffled.

“Noooooooo Pesci they’re just my friends! You’re my one and only baby boy!” You said squeezing him hard. “I get to see you every day! I just hang out with them and get drunk like you do with the boys!”

“So it’s like your guy time?” He asked.

“Yeah!” You said excitedly. “That’s exactly what it is! Instead of drinking beer and watching football we just drink wine and gossip, do each others nails… fix each other hair… you know, feminine stuff!” You explained.

“Oh so you just need some friends for feminine time? Well I guess that’s ok… I really wish it wasn’t Bucciarati and his crew but it’s not like you can find some non mafiosos to hang out with.” He said feeling a little hesitant.

“Don’t worry, I’ll always have time for you Pesci! They’re my friends but the squad is my family! …my very fucked up dysfunctional family!”you said hugging him.

This helps him calm down. Everyone needs guy/girl time regardless of gender. Just make sure you go fishing with him every Sunday!

Prosciutto

“Don’t speak. The next time I’m talking to you is on Dr. Phil.” He put his hand near your face as he turned his back to you and walked off. He needed a smoke break after dealing with the fact you were hanging around Bucciarati.

He’s so disappointed in you. 😔 how dare you hang out with Bucciarati and his bootlickers. He’s giving you the silent treatment but it’s not going to last long.

Random fall/halloween headcanons for them

Giorno: goes trick or treating. Like yeah he is 15 but free chocolate is free chocolate. Is dreading the day that he gets turned down for being too old. Turned a bunch of socks into black widow spiders and released them in the house because he thought it would be fun to scare the others. Gold experience took away their venom because his stand can do that I think.

Bruno: opened the fridge one day to find that it was completely full of apples and apple things like cider and pastries. Then he dramatically flopped down on the ground and stayed there all day and the others would ask him if he was ok and he would just lay there. He likes to zip off his head and limbs to scare people on Halloween.

Abbacchio: he is kind of a grump, but he loves Halloween. Like he won’t go to Halloween parties or put out candy for kids (because they are annoying), but Halloween gives him an excuse to do even more dramatic eyeliner than his usual so he likes it. It also fits his look very well so. And he loves colder weather because he likes to dress warmer and drink hot drinks. Suspects giorno is behind all of the spiders, has been bit by them all and was expecting his death but it hasn’t happened yet so that’s why he is suspicious.

Mista: gets pumped up about watching scary movies but later he ends up begging the others to let him sleep in their room for the night because he is scared. Happens every night for the whole Halloween season. Plays spooky scary skeletons non stop and the pistols go WILD over that song.

Narancia: goes trick or treating and spends a lot of time thinking about how people treated him poorly when he asked for food on the streets, but now that it’s a silly holiday and he doesn’t look poor he gets free Twizzlers and all that. The fuck. And then he eats all of his candy in one sitting. He watches scary movies with Mista and is super brave and tough and definitely isn’t shaking the whole night while trying to fall asleep. He would never do that.

Fugo: refuses to watch scary movies with the others because jump scares make him angry. And what could be scarier than his soul anyways … excited to finally be able to drink warm things without overheating. Carves a pumpkin and it turns out awful and then he throws it and there are pumpkin seeds all over Bruno’s kitchen again.

Trish: likes to paint pumpkins pink. Did a corn maze once and hated the experience. Always has the cutest costume that she makes herself. Goes trick or treating with giorno and narancia and everyone gives her extra candy because she is the best!

Abbacchio

Leone is very grateful. He may not show it the best but you’re a very important person in his life, a glimpse of normalcy in this crazy place Bucciarati’s gang become. He doesn’t question your decision to stay with him until the very last second of your illegal meeting. He then nervously whispers a short are you sure? as he hugs you, and after your affirmation, Abba doesn’t need any more words.

Bruno

Bruno is really happy, but the fact that he will be able to see you is not the main factor. He feels joy because you decided to choose for yourself, to screw your parents’ commands, and to do what you feel your heart wants to do. He fully supports your decision, even though he understands where your parents come from. After all, their kid dates someone from the mafia. But it’s your life, not theirs, plus he really loves you, so he doesn’t even think about questioning it.

Fugo

Heck yeah! Screw your parents! For the past week he has been angrier than usual, not being able to see you, waiting for a word from you after your parents locked you up in the house. It was ridiculous! All these pent up emotions makes him tear up a bit. Not a lot, and when he notices that you see the difference in how glossy his eyes become, he hugs you tightly, nose buried in the crook of your neck. You’re his oasis, and he has to calm himself now that you are right by him, not going anywhere.

Giorno

I’m not sure why but I feel like Giorno would be the only one to question your decision from the start. I mean, yeah, he loves you, he wants to be with you, but because of this, he agrees with your parents. Someone like you shouldn’t be connected in any way with the mafia, in particular be in a relationship with the head of it. He wants everything and more for you, and when you tell him that you’ve made up your mind, and he hears the confidence, the firmness your voice holds, he shuts completely up, a voice that acts against his common sense, celebrating that he isn’t losing you. 

Mista

Of course he celebrates! Picks you up, twirls around and peppers whole face in kisses. He doesn’t like your parents just like he doesn’t like stupid people that they definitely are. Who do they think they are to tell you who to date or not??? Mista even suggests that you move in with him, because this way you wouldn’t have to worry about sneaking out. He pouts a bit when you decline, and even tries to jokingly bribe you with marriage, but he knows when to stop. He's just happy that you’re choosing to stay with him.

Narancia

He feels that you’re pranking him. And after you try to reassure him that no, it is not a stupid joke, he thinks that it’s a trap that your parents set for him. Only after five minutes or so, he believes you. And when he does, oh boi, the scream he scrumpts. SCREW YOUR PARENTS! Hell yeah! He even suggests that he can pay them a little visit, and you need to calm him down if you don’t want to become parentless.

playing fortnite like a cringe loser and i had an idea *throws this at you*

bucci's gang playing fortnite woo!!!!!!

giorno - he doesn't play very often. he only plays when the others ask (beg) him to. he spends most of the game hiding inside of gas stations or other buildings, clipping people with shotguns when they enter his territory. somehow makes it to the last 10 very often.

narancia - he's kinda cracked actually. he plays fast. like, he drops at medallion locations and collects all of them as quickly as he can. he uses smgs most of the time. LOVESSSSS the cars. bro will put on the vengabus and chase people around while cackling like a maniac.

mista - he plays to KILL. he's a gunman, so he's like, inherently really good at fortnite. he NEVER carries heals and it usually bites him in the ass 💀💀 mista pretty much only uses snipers and pistols because "it feels more real". he also strictly uses the peter griffin skin and ALWAYS makes it to the final 5.

fugo - he gets pissed off so easily (when doesn't he). he forces narancia to duo with him because again, narancia's cracked!!!! except he definitely prefers to take his time. he likes to hide in trees and snipe people. he's also really good at pickaxing people to death. immediately hits the default dance afterwards because it makes him feel eviller.

trish - she doesn't play often, but when she does, she kinda carries. she likes to run trios with mista and giorno. loves her pistols dearly. have you ever seen those clips of moist critikal hitting absolutely insane clips with pistols?? THAT'S TRISH. she goes fucking BATSHIT. it makes her proud :')

bruno - he prefers to watch, but he will play every now and then to humor his team. his play style is like a mixture of giorno and fugo's. he doesn't push when he sees gunfire, he hangs back and waits in the wings for the perfect opportunity to snipe people to death. he usually makes it pretty far but he doesn't get butthurt about losing. unless he has a crown.

abbacchio - he thinks fortnite is childish. that being said, he likes watching. especially when giorno gets his ass kicked. he's very much a backseat gamer. mista's snapped at him so many times to just play the game and everynow and then, he caves. little does anyone know, abbacchio practices in his free time and he kinda clears!! all that matters is that he's better than giorno.

💔💔💔Bucci Gang Dealing With a Breakup 💔💔💔

Because I love making characters who experience pain experience even more pain (◣ _ ◢)

Giorno The calm and collected blonde who had just begun to grow comfortable in letting his emotions out on display for you begins to regress back to keeping it all to himself. He doesn’t cry, he’s learned crying does nothing to fix the situation just as it didn’t fix the neglect of his mother. However, his inner turmoil prompts him to have other out of control reactions. He’s shaking more than usual, his concentration is completely off, his isolation is even more apparent even on days where it seems things are going to be okay. The others make attempts to dissuade Giorno out of these harmful habits but to no merit, it is best to let him decide when he is ready to talk about this. The thing with Giorno however is that he will also conclude there is no need to talk about it. He hurt you and you decided to move on. It was only logical, despite how detrimental of a loss it was to him. On rare occasions, he would sit in his room, spacing out and thinking about you in every little detail, all of the observations he had made of you. It would be weeks until he would finally shed a small tear, realizing how complacent he had been in just letting you go. He was ruthless and forthcoming in other matters but he felt great shame for not showing the same degree of importance to you and the relationship.

Bucciarati

Similarly, he tries not to personalize this too much as he understands the nature of the game. He is a capo after all, of course he wouldn’t be able to freely make time for you as much as he would like. However unlike Giorno, he is more quickly to fold over and realize the emotional mess he has become. His drinking is usually always under control, but now the others have pointed out how much he drinks, downing a whole bottle of wine in a sitting. He is always able to focus on things on a rational level not letting his emotions influence him too much, but he finds his hand shaking as he holds his phone, fighting himself to not call or message you out of desperation and a need to know that you are doing fine. He also feels great shame for letting it all go too easily and for just accepting it without much of a fight.

He is able to keep appearances with the others for the most part but there are subtle changes that everyone sees but no one wants to bring up. This is Bruno after all, he will always just put their needs over his own despite their protests. He misses you, he blames himself for absolutely everything. It will take him a very long time to be able to move on. He might check in on you just to ensure your safety but is always dying on the inside if he were to ever find out you moved on with someone who could provide you with something he never could. 

Fugo

Things end in a very chaotic way and immediately triggers his black and white perceptions of things. This was your fault, you weren’t being reasonable enough to understand the type of person he is. If it was his out of control anger that pushed you away from him then so be it, he obviously is in no position to make improvements on himself. Nothing much changes from his usual self other than he becomes even more snappy and becomes a bit too physically aggressive with potential enemies. He’s brought in by the older gang members about his need to cool off and even take some time to himself but he always refuses. If he were to take time off for himself it would only lead to worse things because the only thing that would cloud his thoughts would be you. You deserved better, you didn’t deserve the ticking time bomb that he was. He finally accepts how he had a large part to play because he was still that immature, defensive child even with someone as caring and as understanding as you. He decides it's best to just let you go for someone much more suited for you. He finds himself returning to playing the piano after years of letting it collect dust, preferring there to be some noise than the echoing silence of not having you there. 

Narancia

It’s hard for him to fully process and understand what it all means, or more importantly, hard for him to fully accept that your presence just wouldn’t be there anymore. The first couple of days he acts as if nothing had happened. The denial runs deep and he continues to be his old cheery self, joking with the others and looking at life through a bright lens because you’d come back after all, right? The weeks go on and it becomes more of a reality that this is how things will be from now on. He becomes more quiet, a bit more withdrawn and his zest is seemingly shot down for a lot of things.

Panic sets in and he finds himself hyperventilating more frequently, the others pointing this out of concern for him. The abandonment comes in in full fruition, having flashbacks of when he lost his mother and how his father couldn’t care less. Yes he still had the others but without you it felt entirely incomplete, there was always that caring and comforting presence of yours and it’s actually gone because of his own incompetence.  It’s only when he cries it out with Fugo when he realizes that you are gone for good this time, unable to rationalize or control his intense emotions about everything. 

Mista

Surprisingly, he is used to the nature of relationships, both long term and short term. This isn’t to say it doesn’t hurt him nor does he have to take some time to come to terms with what’s happened, but that’s just how life works after all. No need to dwell on it and no need to stop living just because you’re not in the picture anymore. And for a while, things seem to be going well for him! That is until he sees old pictures of you on his phone that he hasn’t bothered to delete. Or when he orders a dessert and realizes you aren’t there to share it with him. Or simply realizing how much he actually missed a lot of these small details of you, such as your scent, how your eyes looked in the sun, how your voice sounded when you called his first name. 

He smiles through the pain, and the others can see that it is a forced smile for the most part. He catches himself looking through old text convos in the middle of the night, berating himself for becoming so attached and in trying to figure out where he messed up. He repeatedly tries to find some sort of logical explanation through his own world, any pattern of fours or perhaps he hasn’t been praying as often as he needs to and this is divine punishment. He’s only open about it with some members of the gang, but soon lets the feeling come and go despite how hard it is to realize that this was one of those relationships he wanted for the long term.

Abbacchio

Everyone can see the growing storm cloud over his head as his demeanor becomes even more guarded, more gloomy and more rigid. He doesn’t talk to anyone, disappearing for a while and giving the reason that there are personal things he needs to take care of. Drinking is the easy part of it and he knows it’s not the solution, but the self destructive thoughts is what kills him on the inside. It’s not even a, we had a miscommunication type of situation, he begins to genuinely believe there is just something seriously wrong with him and that he will be incapable of forming healthy relationships from here on out. Or simply refusing to have something intimate with anyone that isn’t you. 

Bucciarati is the only one that catches him on his downward spiral and strenuously snaps him back into reality. He sobers up for the most part but refuses to want to know anything about what happened with you or where you are now. He rationalizes better with himself and returns to his usual routine, no questions asked. Unsurprisingly during the harder days, or when there is a reminder of you, he will use his stand to replay every single moment of enjoyment he had with you until he is to the point of exhaustion. 

Trish

Almost goes through the entire stages of denial in the span of a week once it’s set in stone that things are over. There is poison in her voice and how all of this is your fault and how she never wishes to ever see you again. She regresses back into that scared teenager, afraid of what will happen to her and with no indication of who to actually trust. She trusted you, and you did too and it takes a day for her to fully come to terms that it was also her doing to have pushed you away. She finds herself lost in thought of you, spacing out in risky situations and often enough to have the others bring her attention back to earth frequently.

In the final stages she cries her heart out, her eyes permanently puffy and swollen and her voice unrecognizable as he quarantines herself in her room. She’s still holding anger towards you but now mostly towards herself. She impulsively destroys every picture she took of you only to find herself taping them all back together after the matter. She becomes more in control of herself once the adrenaline runs out, and although it still hurts, she convinces herself of worse circumstances she has been able to overcome.
