Santae Artist Rates Exposed
This post was submitted by Anonymous. Thank you for the fantastic information:
Hello! just wanted to send in a message regarding artist pay. this post: https://www.tumblr.com/santaesecrets/761713354198908928/user-banned-after-acquiring-updated-artist-rates?source=share
Tumblr media
not sure why Sky left out the entire price range? she could just have been referring to the price of Items alone (minimals, food, books, items like that).
I'll start with this: Discussion of Wages is a Federally Protected right in the United States, where CJ and Santae Entertainment LLC is based, please look at this link here for your rights regarding Wage Discussion. https://www.nlrb.gov/about-nlrb/rights-we-protect/your-rights/your-rights-to-discuss-wages
Now that that's out of the way: That doesn't encompass the entire range of Artist pay.
Naturally, for starters, the price of items is not the price of NPC's, Pets, Graphic Art (avatars, icons, site header, etc), Map/Scenery Art.
but, most notable of all. It doesn't include the Human Avatar art (the clothing, companions and such drawn on the Human Avatars directly, this does not include the Item Art of the Human Avatar Items).
Items: Regular Items are 6 USD flat. There is no price range on visual complexity. Animated Items are 8 USD Basic Recolors (so, just using the fill tool to color layers that already exist, very easy) are 0.50 USD each Complex Recolors (adding new information to an existing item) are 2 USD
NPC art is 30 USD New Pet art is 30 USD Existing Pet Revamps (redrawing an old pet) is 20 USD Pet Basic Recolor is 2 USD "Elaborate Recolor(line edits)" is 3 to 5 USD Animated Forum Avatars - 4 USD Pixel Icons - 3 USD Animated Pixel Icon - 5 USD Pixel Icon Recolor - 0.50 USD Site Header - 6 USD Regular Site Banner/Graphic - 4 USD Animated Site Banner/Graphic - 6 USD Site Banner Recolor - 1 USD Social Media Graphic - 5 to 10 USD UI Page Design - 8 USD
Harvest Locations, 70 USD Explore Map - 100 USD Scenery - 30 to 50 USD Header Image - 80 USD Header Seasonal Alts - 25 USD
And, finally. Human Avatar Art (this is the art drawn directly on the human avatars), I'll type this out for those using a screenreader, but i did include the image we artists are given to reference, with some blurs and mosaic to the depicted items for NDA reasons:
Small Accessories (earrings/necklace), and Eyes: 2 to 4 USD Facial Features: 1 to 2 USD Hair: 5 to 8 USD Belts and Sashes, Shoes, Gauntlets, Leggings, Pants, Shorts, Small Wings, Small Head Wearables, Hair Accessories: 4 to 6 USD Shirts: 4 to 8 USD Large Acessories, Cloaks, Robes, Dresses: 6 to 8 USD Skins, and Large Wings: 8 to 12 USD Large Head Wearables: 8 to 10 USD Special Clothing and Armor: 12 to 15 USD Backgrounds: 30 USD Foreground: 6 to 8 USD Please keep in mind, the earlier mention of Animated items includes, hand drawn, frame by frame animation.
And, every single step of the process gets sent in for approval. Your sketch, your Lines, Color, and Shading If Artists were able to finish these items in less than an hour, the pricing still wouldn't be great, the Pet Site Community as a whole undervalues art. But, each item will take at least 1 day, if not longer to finish, requested to be drawn in batches of 5. Typically, you may see an artist finish 5 items a Week. If an Artist was to draw 5 shirts for the site, they will get, not including the Item Art, 20 dollars. As there has been times where the artist who draws the clothing on the Human Avatar doesn't end up drawing the Item. Please bear this in mind when you think about those 150 to 500 dollar price tags on the Kickstarter for designing items. 150 dollars for Hair, when the artist will get 5. 200 dollars for a single clothing item, when the range the artist will receive will be 2 to 8 USD. I emplore the staff to make the pay of all staff members 100 per cent transparent to the users, including Artist pay, Admin, Programmer, Mods, and etc. Real life money or SanCash.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
first & second art, third art, fourth art
I DO NOT HAVE A SOURCE FOR THIS ONE IF SOMEONE HAS IT PLEASE LINK ME IT. i've heard its on the devlog but i never found it oops. these were original arena slugcat designs!

Tumblr media Tumblr media
from here
the gang(tm) are from in-game. the green slugcat however was the original fourth arena slugcat!
Tumblr media
image posted by james on the rain world discord!
the next five slugcats are from survivor's intro cutscene. interesting note that monk was not added at this time! monk and hunter were added ~4 months after rain world released, so assumedly these cutscenes weren't made in mind with monk.
the remaining slugcats in the second row are all from basegame projections that you can find in your own files, with the path
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rain World\RainWorld_Data\StreamingAssets\projections
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and we all know where the downpour slugcats are from ;) these are all from ingame. the slugpups next to gourmand are colorpicked from gourmand's non-food quest ending art!
Tumblr media
the next few slugcats are from gourmand's ending, excluding gourmand themself, of course!
Tumblr media
the next three are judge and the two beta spearmasters!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i do not have a source from where judge is from - but the beta spearmasters were posted by faeling :]
the next slugcats are from gourmand's scrapped ending, which you can find on the wiki!
Tumblr media
the yellow and blue slugcats were two slugcats added in a projection with remix enabled. i didn't add the white slugcat from this one because... look do you see how many white slugcats there are already. also i forgot
Tumblr media
the rest are all from the coop thumbnail, wip coop thumbnail, devtools [surv, monk and hunter also feature and this is nightcat but i included it due to the color difference from in-game] and remix thumbnail [probably survivor, but again, color difference! even if its stylistic i still think its neat to include :]] and the coop manual!
Tumblr media
you can find the wip coop thumbnail on the wiki!
you. Could argue the white and yellow ones from the manual are surv and monk, But ! color difference. also the yellow pup that looks like monk actually matches perfectly with the yellow slugcat pup from alpha

Hi. I definitely felt refreshed reading your hard stance and information on ai in your pinned, but irrelevant to that, I only found your blog today and I feel like I missed something with AI and whumptober. Can I learn about that? I hope my language makes sense.
In the late summer of 2023, an anonymous user asked the Whumptober blog if AI-generated content would be allowed for the event. This anon did not come from any of us, nor do we know who originally send this ask, but one of us did see Whumptober's response which kickstarted this entire thing.
Whumptober responded that they would not be disallowing AI because they "do not want to police how other people create things" and "didn't want to exclude anybody" but that they would "discourage" AI-generated content "because it feels like cheating" (all direct quotes).
Myself, the other mods, and several more people, were very disappointed in this stance. several of us started replying to the post and got into a back-and-forth with the Whumptober mods about why AI-generated content is harmful and bad. These posts and replies have since been mostly deleted by the Whumptober blog, nor do we want to rehash the entire thing, but some of the stances that Whumptober took that really rubbed us wrong were (again with direct quotes):
"AI-generated content is not art theft". When pointed out that these sorts of applications very much scrape content without consent, Whumptober claimed that it's the AI that steals then, not the person who uses the AI. They also claimed that since the AI already scraped the content, you "might as well use it", that defending against AI scraping is "going down on an already burning hill" and that "if you don't want your content scraped/stolen, just don't post it online". We found these very concerning statements from an event made by and for creators.
"AI-generated content is a fandom issue and nobody in the real world is harmed by it". This is, obviously, factually incorrect. When we pointed out real creators in many creative industries are being hit hard because of AI-generation, they said "that's capitalism's fault, not AI-generation" (???) and they also told us to "touch grass".
"These sort of AIs are an accessibility tool for the disabled, so disliking them is ableism". Again, this is incorrect. They tried to liken it to predictive text or spell check. We pointed out that there's a vast difference between those machine learning tools and actually generative AI that subsides on scraped content. We said disabled people (many of whom were involved in the back-and-forth) are sick of being used as a strawman by tech bros. They then said "real disabled people probably feel differently" which was a slap in the face, and honestly the thing that still is the most horrible to me about this whole thing.
This is the point where Whumptober started to block a bunch of us and delete asks/replies. They made a post that falsely made it seem like we were harassing and bullying them for saying that they "couldn't check every single entry for AI-generated content". We pointed out multiple times that we absolutely did not expect them to, since we're very aware that with the size of the Whumptober event, it would be impossible. We'd just like them to say 'AI-generated content is not allowed and it's art theft' but apparently they didn't want to.
After this one of the mods DMed me and asked me to send them some resources on why AI-generated content and scraping AI is bad, so they could educate themselves. We spent several minutes collecting sources (some linked in our pinned). They said the Whumptober mods would read them, and then come to a standpoint. But then within less than a minute of us sending the links, they deleted the remaining posts involved in the debate, and just told us they were sticking to their standpoint that "We will not police how people create things, we'll just discourage people by not reblogging it". They also added to their pinned that they won't ever respond to any asks about AI-generated content again. So that was that.
Somewhere during the argument, the Whumptober mods told us that if we disliked their stance so much, we should just make our own event. So we did.
(Edit to add: regardless on if whumptober does change their policy, we never received any sort of acknowledgement or apology of the above and we will keep running this event for whoever wants to.)

Two player world building games?
THEME: Two-Player Worldbuilders
Hello there! Almost everything I found for this request required a deck of cards of some kind, so I hope you like card games!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Strata, by Vincenzo Ferriero.
A Mythopoeia Micro-RPG
Welcome fine archaeologist to your new digging ground! Strata is a tabletop role-playing game where you dig to uncover the history hidden under the many layers of rock that have formed over the millennia. Hope you brought along your Equipment!
A fairly simple one-page game, Strata mostly consists of rolling for random discoveries as you dig through each layer of rock. You’re also responsible for naming each age, usually after something you discover there. While this game looks like it could be played solo, with two people you’d be able to bounce ideas off of each-other as to what each discovery means about the age you’re digging through.
HOME, by Deep Dark Games.
HOME is a roleplaying and mapmaking game for 1 to 4 players.
You are a Mech pilot who must protect their home from Kaiju. Explore and map an alien realm as you search for the source of the Kaiju. Prepare for battle by gearing up, building bases, and uniting the world against the terrifying monster. And when the moment of truth arrives, clash against increasingly dangerous Kaiju that will destroy your home if you fail.
Important relationships keep you going in your darkest hour, veteran pilots make sacrifices for the greater good, and you must decide whether to protect important military locations or cherished cities.
This game is much more focused on action, moving your characters through a battlefield using d6’s to determine what boons and banes will help or hinder you in your battle across an alien space. While you’re going to be spending a considerable amount of time in battle, the game’s map is meant to be added to and elaborated upon as you play.
The link above is for the Kickstarter page, but the Quickstart is available now on Itch if you’re interested.
The Whimsy Collectors, by Stori_Lundi.
The Whimsy Collectors is a cooperative game for two people about exploring a fantastical universe together, finding unique items, and selling them to their special customers. You'll need a tarot deck, 2 tokens, and 2d6.
Using a tarot deck, this game uses the cards as locations where your characters can search for items and add them to their bag. You’ll also use the cards to represent customers and their wants; but be careful, your characters can only carry so much. As a result you’ll have to manage your resources carefully. You’ll tally up points according to how well your finds are suited to your customers.
The game comes with a chart to help you determine what members of the Major Arcana are like as customers, as well as a worksheet where you can record what you find where. The game also comes with two pre-generated characters with special abilities, which you can use to move strategically across the map. If you like a game that the two of you can huddle over while drawing cards, this might be your game.
This Old House, by CarrionComfort.
This Old House is a GMless game for 1 to 4 players that uses the act of building a House of Cards to tell the story of just that, a house. You will use a standard deck of playing cards, a 4-sided die, and prompts to tell the story of a home, the family and things that inhabit it, and the land it sits on.
These stories will be crafted by you, even with some friends, as a way for you to create land, give it life, and then tell the full history of a single home. From the first piece of lumber laid, through its first family celebrating new life, mourning death, and dealing with heartbreak. Then that story ends with the house being consumed by fire, lost in foreclosure, or just left vacant depending on whether the House of Cards tumbles or if a Joker is pulled.
This game looks like a good option for games that zoom in on the personal and intimate. You will focus on a house throughout its life, using playing cards as a construction material as well as a game oracle. If you want a game with an unexpected ending, this might be the game for you.
The Ground Itself, by Everest Pipkin.
The Ground Itself is a one-session storytelling game for 2-5 players, played with household materials (a coin, a six-sided die, and a deck of cards).
Focusing on place- one specific place, chosen by the group - The Ground Itself unfolds over radically disparate time periods that may range from 4 days to 18,000 years. By casting wildly into time, it considers how places both change and remember themselves. Fundamentally, The Ground Itself is about the echoes and traces we leave for others after we are gone.
This game is a reflection on a place that 2 or more people create together, using playing cards to generate questions about the location. Time may pass by as days, years, or even millennia. Players can choose when to zoom in onto what the game describes as a “focused situation”, allowing them to add an omen, a party, or some other narrative element to the story.
The game is meant to be played in a single session, so at the end you should find yourself with a location that bears the meaning of a number of events. The designer has also added a number of ways to change the game, such as using tarot cards instead of playing cards, playing places that have no inhabitants, or changing how much time passes in between each round of play.
A Traveller in the City, by Palleon Press.
A Traveller in the City is a collaborative map-drawing game in which you (& any friends you bring along) visit a CITY from your own imagination, drawing it out step-by-step! All you need is a deck of standard playing cards, a single six-sided die, & some stuff to draw with.
Work together to guide the solitary TRAVELLER thru their stroll. Picture the sights they see, the people they meet. Gradually, sketch a map– not of the place itself, but of your own memory of it. For you are not its creator, nor any kind of expert. You are a visitor. How well will you know this place, when it’s already time to leave?
This is based on the Carta system, which involves using a series of cards to represent a map that your character will explore. In this game, both players will control the same traveller, and draw on a grid to represent what this traveller discovers while exploring the city.
The game itself is rather small, and can be printed as a pocket zine for easy of transport - great for just carrying in a pocket for a spur-of-the-moment game.
Aurora, by World Champ Game Co.
Aurora is a tabletop roleplaying game for 2-6 players. This game is deliberately designed to be played comfortably while practicing social distancing or together around a communal table when the necessity for distancing has ceased. Aurora uses 3 phases or modes of play, each of which can be used or removed from the entirety of the game, depending on how the group wants to play. In the first phase, players mail blank cards to another, which will be turned into a custom deck using the zip codes and other numbers. I can see using 5d10 as another way to generate random numbers to help create your custom cards.
In the second phase, city creation begins. Regardless of the setting you decide to create, the city is going to be torn between a Darkness and a Light. Your cards will help determine both of these, as well as the map of the city and the people who live there. If you don’t use the first phase, a deck of tarot cards might work as a good substitute for the oracle.
The final phase uses the map and the cards to generate a story inside the city that you’ve just created. Each player may be responsible for their own character, or they might take ownership of a faction or a number of characters - which might be a good option if there’s just two of you.
If what you want is a lot of room for creativity, this might be for you.

The "Rusty Quill Article" from the perspective of a journalism student.
So there has been a lot of stuff going around about an article made by someone that lays out some possible/probable/whatever misconduct. And there are some ways that people have been discussing it that I want to weigh in.
My Credentials: I'm in my senior year as a Journalism and Media Production major (I won't say which university because this is the internet). I've taken a lot of courses about journalism, including its ethics and writing conventions.
The Writer
"Who's Afraid of Alex J. Newall?" was written by Newt Schottelkotte on Medium and edited by Tal Minear and Wil Williams. The article extensively details possible misconduct
Possible bias: Upon publishing the article, Schottelkotte made no note of being the Director of Marketing at the podcast network Fables & Folly. When this was pointed out online, Schottelkotte added an editor's note to the bottom of the article that reads
Newt Schottelkotte is currently the Marketing Director for Fable & Folly Network, but has worked as an independent creator and journalist for longer. This information was not disclosed; a disclosure has been added.
So what gives? That's pretty biased, right? Surely F&F stands to gain a lot if Rusty Quill were to shut down or lose public favor, and the author hid that fact. I, however, would take that with a heavy grain of salt. As noted Schottelkotte has worked independently in podcasting since 2016 and got their position at F&F this year. Furthermore, they've actually worked for a lot of podcast networks, also available in that link, and the emphasis on F&F made by some people may be a bit overzealous. Yes, F&F could stand to gain from RQ experiencing troubles (though more of the nebulous way that a lot of podcast networks would), but Schottelkotte overall is an independent contractor and that's probably the reason they didn't mention it in the article originally. Minear and Williams are unaffiliated with F&F.
Something else about journalistic bias: No article is ever truly unbiased. There is no way for it to be. There are some cases where bias is so blatant that the person shouldn't be put on the story, but most of the time the best people are able to do is manage their bias.
The Purpose
Some people have disparaged the article for trying to "cancel" RQ. To this I would merely like to point out that the article is not addressed to podcast consumers, but to podcast creators.
Tumblr media
They do address the possible consumers later towards the end, where they attempt to dissuade people from harassing former/current employees and projects
Tumblr media
In the final section, they do ask readers to think about supporting The Magnus Protocol Kickstarter with the clear bent of "Supporting the Kickstarter could mean that you're supporting abusive industry practices." There is clearly some biased language here, and a call to action such as this could definitely be considered "iffy" journalism, so take that as you will.
The Sources
Oooooooooh the sources. Schottelkotte's article uses a few external sources, and then a number of anonymous sources that are ex-employees of RQ or people who were offered a position there. All interviewees are anonymous, and people have raised some eyebrows at this.
In journalism you are generally supposed to avoid confidential sources. They cause an obvious verification issue. If people don't know who your sources are, how do they know that you're not just making everything up?
That being said. The audio drama podcast industry is rather small. RQ itself is somewhat of a household name, and is even more of a juggernaut in a place like Britain. I can absolutely understand why these people would feel nervous about speaking publicly for fear of being blacklisted due to being considered "hard to work with" or "disloyal" or fear of backlash from RQ themselves. Take these sources with a grain of salt, but also understand that there are reasonable grounds for these sources being confidential.
Conclusion
I encourage people to go read the article, hence why I linked it at the beginning. Something that I would ask for people who point out the issues with sources is to demand accountability from RQ. Demand that they respond (As Schottelkotte asked them to do at least once, possibly several times. It's a bit unclear in the article). Look at the facts that we do know and ask yourself that even if they don't directly verify claims do they at least line up with them? Journalism is meant to inform, but there can also be more beyond a dichotomy "this article is can be trusted" vs. "this article cannot be trusted." Use this as an opportunity to ask questions.

By any chance, could you list like all the things we know about Joseph and Jack? Because some people might be new to the fandom and not know much about it.. if you did this before then could we get the source for it?
Btw love your works :D
Thank you so much! You're so sweet. 💗
Well, while I haven't considered making a fandom primer before... I did make a timeline of what we know about Joseph so far in this post over here. I even translated it into Spanish upon request here.
Oh, something that came out since I made that post is this image from the kickstarter that shows us Joseph's whole body, including his stylish rose-printed boots. Also, the lovely creator of the game shared development sprites in this post that tease at certain plot elements in the upcoming game. As well as this suspiciously familiar lad on Jack's birthday.
As for Jack, I didn't consolidate everything in one place, but I have discussed various topics about him that might be more pertinent. His limitations, for example, are an important part of his character. Consent is a big part of the game and his character.
A lot of what I've discussed are theories, such as how Jack got stuck in the tape, but I do show relevant pieces of artwork and link to the official twitter and tumblr that give teasers. One important piece of info from the tumblr is that Jack can touch/interact with things the more attached he is to his sunshine. The asks from the official tumblr have some juicy lore bits. I've also made transcripts for some of the audio dramas in this tag.
I'm honestly not sure what else should go into a introduction to the fandom for newcomers, besides suggesting they try out the demo and check out official sources. Sadly, I'm not a part of Snaccpop Studios (though I'd love to be hired on as a writer), so I don't count as an official source. Most of what I have to offer with my headcanon rambles are theories and possibilities after all. Plus I'm always adding more thoughts as more teasers slowly trickle out and I get new perspectives from other members of this lovely fandom.
Maybe I should give it some thought how to go about an introduction primer for new fans, but I don't want to give the false impression that I'm an official source for information. I'm just an enthusiastic fan who is trying to sleuth out what's going on and play around with the concepts.
I'd say start from the demo, then go to the official pages for more information. The official toyhou.se page has profiles for the love interests plus the boss, and you can check out other important SnaccPop Studio links here. I hope this helps!

Grimdark & Dangerous!
I’ve done it. Grimdark & Dangerous is available for purchase as of right now. Follow this link and it will take you to DMsGuild where it is currently hosted and ready to go.
Have you ever wanted to implement classes that increase risks for your characters or make playing the game just a bit harder without resorting to “realism” rules?
Perhaps you want more spells? Lots more spells. A grand total of 59 new spells?!
What about class options? How about a whole 5 new class options?
Did you like the rune scribe prestige class but don’t want to have to worry about prestige class rules? Because, let’s be real, prestige class rules are weird and the rune scribe class does not play nicely with the rest of the rules.
Maybe you’re the kind of player that wants magic items out the wazoo. Just, all the items. You need more. But 54 more new items? How about an entire new class of magic item? How about weapons that let you adjust how they behave in combat? How about magic weapons specifically geared towards enhancing different kinds of spell casting styles?
How about blood magic? You like blood hunter? What if there was a class option that was like that, but for magic and spells?
Do you like to harvest big monsters for crafting materials? What if you could do that but turn those crafting materials into new limbs and natural weapons you could use?
Or maybe, you want to make just... the most neurotic character ever? The kind that is so broken everyone else wonders how they even function, but they have become able to turn their immense suffering into personally meaningful and dramatic growth and power?
This is the kind of thing packed tightly into Grimdark & Dangerous. This book is comparable in size and scope to Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything and is almost 100% in-game content.
The current price for the book is $19.99. Consider this a sale for the holidays. When 2023 rolls around the price will likely go up to $25 to help offset the cost of making the book. $19.99 is less than half of what it costs to buy a WotC expansion book, and Grimdark & Dangerous has just as much if not more content than many of the WotC expansion books.
On top of all of that, there actually is more. Upon meeting certain sales milestones for Grimdark & Dangerous, I will be doing the following:
100 copies - I will release “Pay What You Want” edition(s) of the entirety of Grimdark & Dangerous’ chapters.
500 copies - Grimdark Bestiary (which was partially completed early in the development process for Grimdark & Dangerous, but cut due to time constraints) will be added on to all future and past purchases of the book
1001 copies - Platinum best seller - I will release all of Grimdark & Dangerous as a physical print edition
2000 copies (I do not expect this to happen, but I would love it to) - I will organize a new project called "Harbinger" on Kickstarter. It will not be a d&d 5e project, but rather a new open source ttrpg that would help people transition from 5e to other systems and settings.
I have put months of full-time effort into this project, and it has been mostly a labor of love for a game and community that has helped me so much. But to be able to actually present a book like this and share it with that game and community is just a whole other level of satisfaction. I’m incredibly grateful for all the love and support over the past few months as I’ve teased ad talked about this project. I hope ya’ll find as much enjoyment from using the content as I did from making and testing it.

Blog Meta vs Tumblr Meta
When I started this tumblr, I wanted to post about game development and game design. I followed other game developers, and I posted about game design, WiP screenshots and art assets, and links to finished games. Later I started an aesthetic sideblog (reblub.tumblr.com), and posted some programming tutorials to this tumblr. Programming is not really something that interests followers who want to know when I have released a new game, or who want to reblog WiP pixel art. Then I stopped worrying and broadened the range of topics on this main blog to opinions on computer literacy, teaching programming, and contributing open source. It's my blog and you can't stop me. I might post some cooking recipes. Maybe it even helps promote my games.
If I wanted to go all-out on promoting my games, I would post a lot more visually interesting WiP stuff, and game design ideas that are directly related to games I am promoting, broken down so players who don't design their own games understand them. I would have to manually cross-post everything on mastodon, twitter, instagram, tiktok, and so on.
If I wanted to go all-out about programming tutorials, I should probably host them somewhere else. The NPF tumblr post editor does not do code blocks, or maths. I could make a series of hyperlinked pages and host them on my own domain, or I could record some screencasts and sell a course, but not on tumblr.
I don't want to do either of those anyway. I want to keep this tumblr relatively noise-free, I don't want to be my own full time social media manager posting gifs every day, and I don't want to sell webinars or online courses. I just want to keep making games, occasionally.
When tumblr enabled ads on blogs, and not just on the dashboard, I noted the lack of kickbacks for blog posters.
When Posts+ was announced, I thought about posting more gamedev tutorials. There is probably a small audience out there who would want to learn GameDev from me, but they might not be enough people to make it financially viable, and they are probably not willing and able to pay me enough. The people who are on tumblr already don't want to buy gamedev tutorial content, and when they do, they don't want to do so on tumblr.
With every new tumblr feature, I noted that it doesn't really help me write one or two posts a month. It doesn't help me publish or monetise the kind of content I want to write. The tip jar is more compatible with the way content spreads through tumblr than posts+, but it's not what I need.
The only way I can monetise a gamedev tumblr is by posting viral gifs of my game, and directing them to other platforms:
getting people to wishlist the game on Steam
promoting my itch.io page
promoting a Patreon
promoting a podcast
promoting a KickStarter
selling branded t-shirts
funnelling them into my Discord
There is no good way to monetise devlog content, game development tutorials, or long-form blog posts on tumblr.
This feels mildly concerning, but maybe it's okay. I know that many game developers started a Patreon for their podcast, a YouTube channel, a twitch stream, or a TikTok, only for that to become a larger source of revenue than their game sales. As they work on their next title, and try to drum up hype for Steam wish lists, cross-promote other games, appear on podcasts, the sales from their last game dwindle, and the revenue from YouTube ads and twitch donations grows. They are basically professional YouTubers at that point, or professional programming coaches, but without the actual game in the end, it doesn't work.
On the other hand, tumblr can still monetise me. I could decide to blaze some pretty screenshots, some .gifs, and gain followers and wishlists.
I don't know where this leaves artists on tumblr though. Tumblr is full of pixel artists who take commissions. Tumblr is full of old school oil on canvas artists. Their interests aren't aligned with the platform. Tumblr doesn't earn anything when they do commissions, and the artists don't earn anything when ads are shown on the dash next to their reblogged original content.
With all this in mind, tumblr live makes some sense.
In the mean time, I'll have a look at cohost, and I might re-work some of my drafts that require elaborate formatting into a longer-lived web site. And maybe I'll write some games!

============= Synopsis
A collection of anecdotes about a troubled Kickstarter production
============= Other Info
All or Nothing (1973) is a Dendry* short game, submitted to the Goncharov Game Jam**. * **Autumn was also the organiser of this jam.
Status: Completed Genre: Unreality, Goncharov, Slice-of-Life, Meta
CW: / Note: cheating, mention of violence/death
============= Playthrough
First Played: December 2022 Last Played: 3-Jun-2023 Playtime: around 20mins Rating: 4 /5 Thoughts: Give your All and get Nothing...
============= Review
Adding to the Goncharov craze of November 2022, All or Nothing (1973) takes on a meta commentary approach on internet trends, the cashing out on said trends*, and artistic creation. Set during an undefined present, we discover through snippets a group of four adults are putting together a trailer for a Kickstarter project to create a Goncharov movie, competing with other crowd-sourced project on the same idea. *which, lol, considering the jam
Spoilers ahead. It is recommended to play the game first. The review is based on my understanding/reading of the story.
The game starts as a rendition of a scene for a Goncharov movie*, being shot, formatted like a script and with a dark edited picture. You get to choose some options about where the scene goes until one of the characters yells CUT, following one of the actors fumbling his lines. The scene moves to real life (change in background and font), as the crew bickers about the production. The game will continue flipping between the dark setting while the scenes are shot and the brighter background of real life, announcing the transitions**. *which is not a real thing, just to be clear... **until... movie and reality are but one.
We are introduced to a four-member crew shooting materials for a Kickstarter campaign: Arash - playing Goncharov - the director of this whole enterprise and maybe a bit too obsessed with the project, Vivian - playing Katya - the scriptwriter who is disillusioned with making it in the industry, Tony - playing Andrey - looking for a paycheck, and Sofia - playing Sofia* - also here mainly for a paycheck**.*This made me laugh so hard. **I think? It's not as explicit as Tony. Maybe some connection or support?
Like most of Autumn's games, All or Nothing (1973) takes a storylet approach to the storytelling of the downtime of the crew (about 2-3 scenes). You can follow two groups: Arash/Goncharov and Tody/Andrey, or Vivian/Katya and Sofia/Sofia. Each will discuss their view on the production, their worries and dreams, and what is happening in their lives.
Arash's method acting is worrying some of them or getting on their nerves, but he only cares about making art and be remembered* *this is an interesting conversation between Tony and Arash on the subject, where fame doesn't seem to interest Arash if behind it there is no creative output to show for...
Vivian is starting to resent telling Arash (her boyfriend) about the meme and letting him string her along the production, while she questions whether she still want to even pursue this.
Sofia lives in a shitty studio with a baby, Tony looks to get paid* (and maybe more?). *Unlike the other three characters, it didn't feel like there was much to Tony. Maybe being paired with Arash made him more of a background character...
By the second storylet, lines between the characters in the real world and in scenes start to blur. Vivian and Sofia comment on events being similar to struggles the Goncharov characters suffer through, while Arash and Tony lean more and more into the method acting (with Arash being much more into it). Like their movie counterpart (according to lore), both couple have the option of potentially leaning into the sexual tension in the air (with Vivian/Arash cheating on the other*). *Funny thing, in the lore it is unclear whether either party knows about the cheating, condones it, or resents the other for it. Still they don't see each other separating because of it.
The line fully disappears when the real world characters embodies their scene counterparts so much during the height of filming, that neither Arash, Vivian, nor Tony realise Sofia's cries to stop the scene (even her holding her child do not phase them). At this point, the background does not even return to "real-life" mode. While Tony and Vivian do manage to come back to their senses, Arash still stays in character, ending the game with I am Goncharov...
I really enjoyed figuring out that the characters' lives mirrors the ones they portrayed (though the exact lore is unclear one the specifics), with Vivian and Arash being a couple and playing Katya and Goncharov who are canonically together, Katya's dalliance with Sofia, Goncharov and Andrey contrasting identities (light/dark, naive/serious, free/taken...)... as well as trying to find the Goncharov themes (the clock, the gun, the boat...).
A final note: the game references two works: All or Nothing (which is incidentally the name of the game, paired with the fictional release year of Goncharov) and Miss Officer and Mr Truffles, two crowdfunding campaigns which started from a meme post on Tumblr making the rounds on the website. Neither managed to deliver an end product (the second never reached its goal). A bit of a wink to A Paradox between worlds there... Is it also foreshadowing the future of this project?

Travis Kelce reveals the moment he fell for Taylor Swift: 'That's my lady'
Tumblr media
He was enchanted to meet her. Travis Kelce didn’t hold back gushing over his girlfriend Taylor Swift, revealing the exact moment he fell head over heels for her. During an appearance on the “Bussin’ With The Boys podcast,” released Tuesday, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 34, was quizzed on his romance with the 14-time Grammy winner. Travis Kelce has revealed the exact moment he fell for Taylor Swift. Bussin' With The Boys The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 34, was quizzed on his romance with the 14-time Grammy winner. GC Images When asked what it’s like to date the biggest pop star on the planet, the 3-time Super Bowl champ didn’t mince words. “You want to keep things private, but at the same time, I’m not here to hide anything,” he told co-hosts Will Compton and Taylor Lewan. “That’s my girl. That’s my lady. I’m proud of that.” “I’m not sitting here trying to juggle like, ‘How can I keep this under wraps?’ You just don’t want to let everyone into your personal life and be able to comment on it, knowing that everything she does is getting a headline.” And despite being a global phenomenon, the “Cruel Summer” hitmaker’s ability to stay grounded is what made Kelce fall for her. “That’s my girl. That’s my lady. I’m proud of that,” the 3-time Super Bowl champ said. AP “She’s very self-aware,” he shared. “She understands situations like that and I think that’s why I really started to fall for her, how genuine she is just around friends and family.” “It can get crazy for somebody with that much attention and she keeps it so chill and so cool and I can admire it for sure,” he added. After the duo first kickstarted their romance last summer, Swift made headlines by attending a Chiefs game in September. The pair kickstarted their romance last summer. Getty Images During her football debut, the “Fornight” singer, 34, was decked out in red and was seen chatting and laughing with Kelce’s mom, Donna, in the team’s VIP suite. Kelce revealed that despite him offering to sort out a private entrance free of paparazzi for her, Swift wanted to live out the experience in full. “She just walked right through the front door,” he recalled. “There was no talking to security, making sure that she gets to her . She’s just like, ‘I just wanna be around the family and friends and experience this with everybody.'” The “Cruel Summer” hitmaker’s ability to stay grounded is what made Kelce fall for her. AP “She’s in the madness. She wants to be a part of it. She wants to support me and do things like that,” he said. “She really won me over.” “And I think that’s why I really started to really fall for her. Just how genuine she is around friends and family,” he added. When asked to name the most surprising thing about dating the “Wildest Dreams” hitmaker, Kelce detailed the press attention surrounding the pair. “ has been the craziest thing. Definitely the pulling up to the house, the just random, I don’t know,” he said. “She’s very self-aware. She understands situations like that and I think that’s why I really started to fall for her,” Kelce said. GC Images “It’s a different demographic than the NFL, so it’s been cool to dabble in that and see her following and everything. It’s been fun because a lot more kids are into the game and the Chiefs fans have turned into a lot of her fans. And her fans have turned into Chiefs fans, so I’ve had fun with every aspect of it.” “But when you’re at home, you want privacy, and you don’t always get that,” he added. The Ultimate Keto Meal Plan.
Introduction:
The Keto diet has surged in popularity due to its promising effects on weight loss and overall health. Understanding the intricacies of this low-carb, high-fat diet is crucial for success. Equally important is crafting a well-structured meal plan to support your keto journey.
Understanding Macronutrient Ratios:
Fat, protein, and carbohydrates are the three macronutrients that form the foundation of any diet. However, on Keto, the ratios are distinct, with an emphasis on high fat intake, moderate protein consumption, and minimal carbohydrates.
Protein:
While protein plays a crucial role in muscle repair and overall body function, excessive consumption can hinder ketosis. Opt for high-quality proteins like grass-fed beef, free-range poultry, and fatty fish to maintain a balanced keto plate.
Carbohydrates:
The primary focus of the Keto diet is reducing carbohydrate intake to induce ketosis. Low-carb vegetables such as leafy greens, broccoli, and cauliflower are excellent choices for providing essential nutrients without disrupting ketosis.
Building a Balanced Keto Plate:
Crafting a balanced keto plate involves strategic selection of foods rich in healthy fats, high-quality proteins, and low-carb vegetables. This ensures satiety, stable energy levels, and optimal nutrition.
Healthy Fats:
Incorporate sources of healthy fats into every meal, such as cooking with coconut oil, adding avocado to salads, and drizzling olive oil over vegetables. These fats not only enhance flavor but also support ketosis and overall health.
High-Quality Proteins:
Choose protein sources that are minimally processed and free from additives. Grass-fed beef, organic poultry, and wild-caught fish are ideal options for meeting protein needs while adhering to Keto principles.
Low-Carb Vegetables:
Fill your plate with non-starchy vegetables that are low in carbohydrates and high in fiber. Leafy greens, cruciferous vegetables, and zucchini are versatile options that provide essential vitamins and minerals without spiking blood sugar levels.
Crafting Breakfast Options:
Breakfast sets the tone for the day and is a crucial opportunity to kickstart ketosis. for satisfying breakfast options that are low in carbohydrates and high in healthy fats and proteins.

Keto Smoothies:
Blend together coconut milk, spinach, avocado, and a scoop of protein powder for a refreshing and nutritious keto smoothie. Customize your smoothie with additional ingredients such as chia seeds, almond butter, or unsweetened cocoa powder for added flavor and nutrients.
Coconut Flour Pancakes:
Indulge in keto-friendly pancakes made with coconut flour, eggs, and unsweetened almond milk. Top with a dollop of whipped cream and fresh berries for a satisfying breakfast that feels like a treat without derailing your ketosis.
Lunch Ideas for Sustained Energy:
Midday meals should be nourishing and satisfying to keep energy levels stable throughout the afternoon. Opt for protein-rich salads, vegetable-based dishes, and wraps made with low-carb alternatives.
Eggs and Avocado:
Toss together grilled chicken breast, romaine lettuce, Parmesan cheese, and Caesar dressing made with olive oil and anchovies for a classic keto-friendly salad. Add bacon bits and avocado for extra flavor and satiety.
Tumblr media
Dinner Delights for Keto Success:
Dinner is an opportunity to get creative with keto-friendly recipes that satisfy cravings and support your health goals. From seafood to stir-fries, there are endless possibilities for delicious and nutritious dinners on Keto..
Beef Stir-Fry with Broccoli:
Stir-fry thinly sliced beef with broccoli florets, bell peppers, and onions in a savory sauce made with soy sauce, ginger, and garlic. Serve over cauliflower rice for a hearty and satisfying keto dinner that's bursting with flavor.
Snacks to Keep Hunger at Bay:
Snacking can be a helpful tool for managing hunger between meals and preventing overeating. Choose snacks that are high in fat and protein and low in carbohydrates to stay satisfied and support ketosis.
Celery Sticks with Almond Butter:
Spread almond butter onto celery sticks for a crunchy and satisfying keto-friendly snack. The combination of protein, fat, and fiber makes this snack ideal for curbing cravings and providing sustained energy.
affiliate disclaimer: this article contain links if you click on the link and purchase that product I will receive small commission from product owner this is no cost to you.
Keto-Friendly Protein Bars:
Choose keto-friendly protein bars made with high-quality ingredients such as nuts, seeds, and collagen for a convenient and nutritious snack on the go. Look for bars with minimal added sugars and carbohydrates to support ketosis.
Hydration and Keto-Friendly Beverages:
Proper hydration is essential for overall health and well-being, especially on Keto. In addition to water, there are several keto-friendly beverages that can support hydration and enhance your keto experience.
Importance of Water Intake:
Water is essential for supporting digestion, regulating body temperature, and flushing out toxins, making it crucial for overall health on Keto. Aim to drink at least eight glasses of water per day, and more if you're active or live in a hot climate.
Tumblr media
Herbal Teas and Infusions:
Sip on herbal teas such as peppermint, chamomile, or ginger tea throughout the day for added hydration and flavor. Herbal teas are naturally free from carbohydrates and can be enjoyed hot or cold for a refreshing beverage option.
Sparkling Water with Lemon:
Add a squeeze of lemon to sparkling water for a refreshing and hydrating alternative to sugary sodas and juices. The natural acidity of lemon helps promote digestion and detoxification while adding a burst of flavor to your drink.
Preparing for Success: Meal Prep Tips::
Meal prep is a key component of success on Keto, helping you stay on track with your goals and avoid unhealthy food choices when you're short on time or energy. Use these meal prep tips to streamline your keto meal planning and preparation.
Batch Cooking:
Spend a few hours each week batch cooking keto-friendly staples such as grilled chicken, roasted vegetables, and hard-boiled eggs. Store individual portions in containers for easy grab-and-go meals throughout the week.
Portion Control:
Use measuring cups, food scales, and portion control containers to accurately portion out your meals and snacks according to your keto macros. This helps prevent overeating and ensures you're getting the right balance of nutrients to support ketosis.
Utilizing Keto-Friendly Ingredients:
Stock your kitchen with keto-friendly ingredients such as coconut oil, almond flour, and sugar-free sweeteners to make meal prep easier and more enjoyable. Experiment with new recipes and flavors to keep your keto meals exciting and satisfying.

Overcoming Keto Challenges:
While the Keto diet offers many benefits, it's not without its challenges. From keto flu to social situations, here are some common obstacles you may encounter on your keto journey and how to overcome them.
Keto Flu:
During the initial transition to ketosis, some people experience symptoms known as the keto flu, including fatigue, headaches, and irritability. Stay hydrated, replenish electrolytes with salt and potassium, and be patient as your body adjusts to burning fat for fuel.
Tumblr media
Staying Consistent:
Consistency is key to success on Keto, but it's normal to experience setbacks and fluctuations along the way. Stay focused on your long-term goals, celebrate your progress, and don't be too hard on yourself if you slip up occasionally. Remember, every small step forward is a victory worth celebrating.
Tracking Progress and Adjustments:
Tracking your progress and making adjustments as needed are essential for long-term success on Keto. Keep a food diary, monitor your macros, and pay attention to how your body responds to different foods and eating patterns.
Keeping a Food Diary:
Record your daily food intake, including portion sizes and macronutrient breakdowns, in a food diary or mobile app to track your progress and identify areas for improvement. This can help you stay accountable and make informed decisions about your diet and lifestyle.
Adjusting Macros as Needed
As your body adapts to ketosis and your weight loss goals evolve, you may need to adjust your macros accordingly. Experiment with different ratios of fat, protein, and carbohydrates to find what works best for you and supports your health and fitness goals.
Celebrating Non-Scale Victories:
In addition to tracking your weight and body measurements, celebrate non-scale victories such as increased energy, improved mood, and better sleep quality. These small wins are just as important as reaching your weight loss goals and can help keep you motivated and focused on your journey.
Conclusion:
Crafting the ultimate keto meal plan requires careful consideration of macronutrient ratios, food choices, and meal prep strategies. By prioritizing healthy fats, high-quality proteins, and low-carb vegetables, you can create delicious and nutritious meals that support ketosis and promote overall health and well-being. With consistency, patience, and a willingness to adapt, you can achieve your keto goals and enjoy the many benefits of this transformative diet.

For physical products, Amazon and Flipkart can be great for the starter; you can always sell them on your website or through landing pages. - Freelance platforms like Fiverr and Freelancer can be great starting points for services. But I encourage most to create an agency and use the drop-service model to fulfill services because It's beginner-friendly.
The Power of Email Marketing
After setting up your shop, the most important thing you'll need is email marketing software to collect and nurture customers with emails. For that, you can start with GetResponse or AWeber, which are free to start if you're short on cash. These platforms come with built-in landing pages and funnel builders. So you can sign up and start using the demo templates.
Payment Providers
After everything is set up, you'll need a payment provider if you're selling the products and services on your website instead of using other third-party platforms. The best ones out there are: - Stripe. - PayPal. - Payoneer. - Wise. - RayzorPay (For India).
Generating Traffic: The Lifeblood of Your Business
Everything I've mentioned above is crucial for your online business, but the most important one is traffic generation, and it's the hardest to achieve. Without traffic (People visiting your store), you won't get any sales. So, you need to generate eyeballs for your offer through paid ads or organic methods using social media and SEO. - For faster results, you can use paid ads from Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Google Ads, and Native ads. But beware that it might drain your money quickly if you don't know about running ads. - So, I prefer the organic method. The organic method usually involves using social media and SEO-optimized blog posts to attract eyeballs to your business. It takes time but pays off in the long run.
Running the Numbers: Optimization is Key
Finally, Test, tweak, and optimize your strategies based on what works for your business. Always be open to learning. Ask questions, take new courses (Complete them), and find mentors if necessary. There are many more variables to starting an online business. But this is the most common concept of almost every online business. I hope you like the blog post. Flipper Zero: il Tamagotchi degli hacker
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
