What the hell is the bedman
So I'm gonna need to remember everything I learned about Guilty Gear Lore that I binged learning over the course of three days a year ago (and considering GG lore, thats rough and I absolutely had to look it up to make sure I got it right) but here's the gist
Bedman and his sister (named Delilah) have a condition that they are so galaxy-brained that if they aren't in an induced coma, then they will die. To mitigate this problem, he exclusively sleeptalks, and his brain controls a mech that is also his bed. He is voiced by Yuri Lowenthal and I love him.
So Bedman teams up with the evil clown pope (not a joke) to become god so that he can create a world where he and his sister can be awake (remembering the name of everyone he killed so he can bring them back when he gets god powers). After having to wake up during an especially rough battle, evil clown pope revealed she is, surprise, evil, and Bedman fucking dies. Apparently it's revealed that his soul was put into his bed, and now it would appear that the bed, now possessed with his soul, is continuing its life (although now kinda fucked up apparently) to protect his sister.
I would like to fully confirm that I would die for these two and I still cannot fucking believe that they're in Strive holy shit holy shit

Warning! I will be blogging about my first Tales of Abyss playthrough here. If you don't want to see it or be flooded or smth, blacklist "sevi plays tales of the abyss"
@magicmetslogic get tagged!
Soooo started Tales of the Abyss now! (I kept thinking it's called Tales of Abyss, without the "the", RIP me) Must say, this immediately felt incredibly different of a premise to Vesperia (the only Tales I have finished til now) and Zestiria (which I... maybe barely passed the prologue, lol). I think a lot of that is because of Luke and his situation. Getting into that later on.
But! Let's start from the top.
Absolutely gorgeous opening for one, really loved it. I probably got spoilered without realizing it, but with no context, that's not terrible. I remain blissfully unaware!
It immediately felt a bit faster paced story-wise. A bit more emotionally taxing on the protagonist, too. To start, I open the game and get immediately met with red-headed, hot-headed Luke (who is fittingly spoken by Yuri Lowenthal, who voiced Tidus in FFX) and Ithink he's an upbeat headstrong guy - which he is but -
I barely leave his room to get thrown a skit immediately:
I hit the mental breaks when I read that because what. What. You just kept your kid inside like a pet or something?
I mean, in Vesperia, Estelle had a sheltered upbringing as well, and was certainly a bit on the naive side, but she at least was acutely aware of the world outside of the walls of her prison. Luke is not even given that, which you realize approximately two minutes into the game since his only contact to the outside world seems to be his swordfight trainer Van. I am absolutely flabbergasted. This is damaging to a kid!
(And no, this is no normal response to your kid getting kidnapped. Protecting him is one thing. Putting him on house arrest a whole other. I suspect it's not just a security thing but there is more going on here.)
And then next mental break: What the hell is Flynn Scifo doing here?
I'm joking, I'm joking. And yes I have been informed that technically, Flynn is a copy of Guy since Vespy came out later. But still. With my minimum knowledge of Tales, forgive me for immediately drawing connection to Versperia at every turn. And the likeness is startling! XD He seems to be a good guy that Guy (pft) so for now, I like the boy.
(Stop climbing outta windows like a thief though!)
Ah. Really glad I decided to explore the rooms a little. This is...
Well. I assume this was meant to be one of those anime-typical jokes of "haha, he's afraid of this or that" but... call me old-fashioned or a snowflake or whatever the correct term is but I don't think this is very funny. These two quite literally have him cornered, and he looks outright terrified of them. And instead of backing off - or Luke rescuing him - we just have to leave again? Uff. Don't like.
Never quite liked making fun of things others are afraid of, not even if it seems silly from outside.
... Oh wow. Luke is even more sheltered than I thought. This seems to be general, public knowledge, and he got nothing? Does he not get any kind of schooling while on house arrest?
From their reactions, this is not something he is supposed to know but forgot, but more like, nobody even told him. That's... okay. I seriously question his parents right now as well as Van for not teaching him even basics of the outside world.
(On the other hand, in a sense of dumbing it all down for a new player, this is quite genius. Given that Luke needs to be explained everything, so does the player learn at the same time. but still. Questionable decisions all around.)
Utterly. Questionable. Decisions.
Yes I'm already going full on protective mama bear mode on Luke. Give me a caged, sad kid who tries to put on a loud and confident facade and I immediately go "mine" XD
And now, for that faster pacing...
Ma'am I JUST finished the tutorial would you please refrain from killing me til I got to practice some more!

RWBY volume 3 episode 4, RWDE/Critical opinions imbound
.God I wish I gave a shit about 90% of these matches, or team CFVY for that matter
.So Coco is famous enough to have fans and maybe her own merch(?)
.God Mercury is such a cool fighter, but they don't let him do like... anything past this volume (I get Yuri Lowenthal is expensive but still)
."I'm the one" Starts off kinda bad at but it Cassy gets into much more of her groove at the end.
.I forgot how generic Coco looks without her sunglasses, same face syndrome strikes again
.Also forgot how OP Emerald is jesus
.Velvet saying Coco's name reminds me how much I'd ship those two if I didn't hate Coco
.Winter leaving as soon as she's introduced and then not showing up for like 4 years outside of one short is kinda funny
.Winter really acting like she didn't berate and hit Weiss in public earlier, I don't blame Winter's fans from ignoring that scene because she never really acts like that again
.Winter saying the Schnee's have been summoning for "generations" makes me think that it's been around longer then Nickolas, that has some interesting implications
.Yay, I love when characters explain shit to people who already know that thing!/S
.Is the ninja game announcer a white guy doing a asian voice? because it sounds like it is
.Using scrolls as controller sounds god awful, Touch screens are only good for a small amount of games IMO
.Qrow mentions Huntsmen being hired for sketchy reasons which made me remember that Hunters are basically free agents with superpowers who take a lot a effort to take down, I'm half surprised that remnant hasn't devolved into a The Boys style hellscape
.Yes Qrow, it is totally normal to talk about the skirt length of an in-keeper you saw to your teenage nieces when one of them is a minor... I like Qrow and most other things about this scene but this is weird
.Shout out to Qrow in this scene for being one of the few people to point out a flaw in team RWBY's approach and not get demonized for it
.First time we really see team STRQ, Summer hiding behind her cloak led to a lot of fan theories
..... So everyone on team STRQ laid absolute pipe right?
.Qrow telling them to "never stop moving forward" is probably the best time the show used that Monty quote, even is it's paraphrased.
.The way Winter talks about Weiss needing to "Look back on past foes" and such made me realize how similar that is to how Sliver eyes requiring it's users to look through their memories and trauma to activate them
.Winter stop hitting your sister, you've literally done it more then Jacques ever did, he only did that once.... He's still worse though
.I just noticed that Winter has a slightly different skin tone then Weiss (at least in poser) and I think it's a little bit closer to Ironwood's then it is to Jacques's, just saying
.That last advice Winter gave was good, I'll give her that
.Yeah fuck Jacques, lyrics to mirror mirror part 2 make me wish they had dropped the "princess" angle with her designs post volume 4.
#rwby#rwde#rwby rewatch#wish I talked more about the music in the first two volumes#also sorry at how inconsistent these have been I've had stuff to do

WASSSSS GOOD WEB HEADS!? Check out my little non-spoiler review of Spider-Man 2 below!
I’m gonna dump a whole bunch of photos from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2🕸️🕷️ I 100% completed the story and am just truly enjoying this game, it’s everything I’ve ever wanted in a Spider-Man game. The emotions, the power, the action and most of all the performances, especially from Yuri Lowenthal.
This has to be the best voice over performance I’ve ever seen for Peter Parker, and Nadji Jeter truly delivers a fantastic performance as Miles. He and Shameik Moore have brought so much to the voice of Miles this year and I love it.
And MAAAAAN. Tony Todd as Venom is absolutely frightening and badass all at the same time. Every moment Venom is on screen he just captivates the whole show. I’m so glad I avoided seeing any spoilers regarding his scenes because it’s the best iteration of Venom in my opinion.
I’m going to avoid posting certain photos with some suits until next week at least since there are people still playing. Any spoilers in the comments will get blocked, so please be courteous, and I hope you’ll enjoy more photos from me. And thank you Insomniac Games for this beautiful gem! Be greater Web Heads!🤟🏾🕷️🕸️❤️

I just did the Coney Island thing in Spider-Man 2 and holy fuck who's in charge of blocking during scenes in Insomniac? Cause what a fucking genius. No spoilers. But pay attention to the crucial difference between scenes from the first game and now. When you talk to someone you can't see Pete's face!!! It's such a genius move. It lets you project on to him and in the case of webheads, true believers and spider-fans it's absolutely fucking potent because of the love we have for Pete and the sincerity that Yuri Lowenthal brungs to the role.
Also dumbasses will claim the face model changing doesn't change anything. But it so fucking does!!! Not on our end much as the writers end. Because though he was supposed to be around 24 in Spider-Man 1, the writing, face model, and Yuri Lowenthal's voice acting betrayed a much older and more world weary Spider-Man. And because the story this time was focusing on a different role. Rather than one of independence and mentoring, one of hope and comradarie, the face had to change as the tone of the writing and voice acting also changed. The faces changing was a good thing.

Just some random and incoherent thoughts on some of Curt's storyline and characterization in Insomniac Spider-Man 2 that I definitely want to elaborate on later when it's more acceptable to discuss spoilers in posts proper bc omg I love this version of him so much, he's perfect!!, anyway, SPOILERS for both him specifically and the general plot -
I absolutely love the progression, re: how aggressive Peter is in the black suit from the first to last Lizard boss fight, just him going from his usual compassion in trying to reach out to Curt and reminding him that he's a good man and to remember his family and trying not to hurt him too badly in the first fight to saying all those awful things about how it's no surprise his family left him bc he's weak and an awful person and threatening to beat the shit out of him in the last fight, just great narrative progression and storytelling.
'Don't let your son grow up without his dad' and 'I saved you before, I'll save you again', Yuri Lowenthal's delivery is so good for those lines omg 🥺
All of the stuff with Billy is still killing me, like, the way Curt hasn't touched any of his toys and his bedroom even though it's been years and he wouldn't be a toddler anymore even if they did see each other again, and the password to his lab being Billy's favourite song as a baby! The keypad is even set up like a music and counting game for a toddler!! Aaaaah!! 😭
The last thing he says to Mary Jane when he starts transforming being, 'I'm sorry' after she tried so hard to save him, even though it's not his fault and he did nothing wrong iejfkdjjdu
Curt asking Peter how he's feeling after getting the symbiote off and reassuring him it's not his fault when Peter says he feels ashamed about what he did, like, he gets it even though he probably wouldn't extend that same grace to himself 😔

HUNTSVILLE COMIC CON
Saturday night we drove 3 1/2 hours to Huntsville, Alabama to go to the Huntsville Comic & Pop Culture Convention, where they were having a Naruto Reunion!
We got to the hotel around 8:30pm , and honestly the bed was horrible, but Sunday was worth the wait! We woke up, got ready, and left for the con, I was dressed as a Naruto of course!
We got there and went straight to the voice actors! I met Christina Vee, who voices Ladybug from The Miraculous Ladybug and Cat Noir, and Killua from HxH. Unfortunately she was extremely rude, but I got a photo with her and wouldn't change it for a thing!
After her we met the Bryce Papenbrook who voices Meliodas and Zeldris in Seven Deadly Sins, Rin Okumura in Blue Exorcist, Inosuke in Demon Slayer, Kirito in Sword Art Online, Eren Yeager in Attack On Titan, Cat Noir in The Miraculous Ladybug and Cat Noir, and honestly so many more. But he was truly one of a kind! Such a great dude, and you could tell he loves his job! Did the you traitor line from AOT on video for us, and was truly awesome!
After that we met Brian Donovan who voices Rock Lee in Naruto! We met him last year, and he instantly remembered us! He got to meet our son and absolutely loved him, and signed a photo for him for free! Always such a pleasure seeing him!
Next we meet Tom Gibis , Shikamaru Nara from Naruto, the guy was just fantastic, and was definitely not a drag meeting him! He signed my Naruto hoodie, and we had a long talk about the show and his thoughts on Shikamarus growth! Have us free stickers as well ! Such an awesome man!
The last person we met was Yuri Lowenthal , Sasuke Uchiha, he was a great dude as well! So easy to talk to! Super kind , and truly a great way to end the con! Wish I got his signature for the hoodie, but maybe next time!

Games I Played in 2022 (reviews)
In 2022 I moved 18 hours away to a totally different state to live with some friends, and leaving everything behind has left me feeling very displaced. One of the ways I’ve been managing my feelings has been through video games. I played a lot of games this year - or rather, I played a few games a LOT this year - and I wanna talk about them. I’ll only be talking about games I played for the first time, though. I don’t feel like talking about games I’ve played before.
Bugsnax
We are whatever we eat
Not long after I released my album in 2021, one of my now-housemates told me it sounded a lot like it would fit in with the Bugsnax soundtrack. This felt almost insulting to me because I hadn’t played, or heard much about Bugsnax, but it looked and sounded to me like a stupid and condescending comparison. But a couple of weeks after I arrived in Queensland, he got me to sit down and play the game.
The main menu theme ended up being my top song on Spotify this year.
In Bugsnax, you play as an unnamed journalist who travels to Snaktooth Island in search of answers as to what Bugsnax are, how they function, and what happened to Elizabert Megafig, the researcher who recently disappeared under mysterious circumstances. You’ll meet twelve other Grumpuses on the island, develop friendships with them, and help them with personal missions to convince them to return to their town, Snaxburg. This often involves catching Bugsnax and feeding them to the Grumpuses, which in turn transforms a piece of their body to resemble the Snak they just ate.
A good metric for gameplay comparison is this year’s most “innovative” instalment to the Pokemon franchise, Pokemon Legends Arceus. One of the main draws of Legends Arceus is that to catch a Pokemon, instead of dealing with a long ass battle, you can just throw a Pokeball at a Pokemon, and catch it in a fraction of the time. The problem with this is there are 242 Pokemon in the game, and the absolute MOST interesting thing you can do to catch a Pokemon is to throw a berry near it to trick it into turning away from you, so you can hit the back of its head with the Pokeball to increase catch rates.
In Bugsnax, there are 100 Bugsnax and dozens of ways to catch them, and they’re ALL incredibly fun and satisfying. Lure them into your Snaktrap with their favourite sauces. Flush them out of their hidey-holes with your Strabby in a ball. Trick them into running into each other, and catch them with a net while they’re disoriented. Sometimes they’re on fire, so you and your tools can’t touch them. Sometimes they’re aggressive, so they’ll just bash you and your tools away when you get near. It’s always fun to catch a Bugsnak, and sometimes they’re a really intriguing puzzle to solve.
One fun surprise was how well-written the characters are. Each character feels like a person, and they’re all COMPLETELY different people, with really interesting relationships to each other, so no one feels repetitive. You’ve got Filbo, the mayor of Snaxburg who’s not taken seriously or respected at all by his peers, who lacks confidence but is always there and willing to help you, his only friend. You’ve got Wiggle, an award-winning “banjo-pop” star who’s trying desperately to find her spark again, and thinks Bugsnax may be the answer. You’ve got Snorpy, an anxiety-ridden conspiracy theorist who loves inventing things and is totally in love with his best friend Chandlo, a gym-bro fitness buff (voiced by Yuri Lowenthal!) who’s big on philosophy and maintaining one’s mental strength/wellbeing as well.
My point here is that there is a lot of diversity in the types of characters you’ll meet in Bugsnax, and you’ll never be bored with the conversation.
Returning to the soundtrack (by Seth Parker) for a minute, it really is fantastic. There were a few tracks that admittedly took longer than others to grow on me because they were kinda pitchy (namely Those Darn Bungers, but I’ve come to absolutely ADORE that track), but now that I’ve grown to understand it all, I really wouldn’t change a thing. It’s so fun to listen to, both inside and outside the context of the game, and a large amount of it holds a healthy amount of emotional charge.
All in all, I love Bugsnax. I didn’t even talk about things like the controls (excellent), the art style (excellent), the story (excellent), or the Snak designs (excellent), but I’d love to do a YouTube video about this game someday, so I’ll get further into detail then. But for now, if I had to describe Bugsnax with just one word, it’d be “charming”. If you’re a fan of Pokemon Legends Arceus, PLEASE play Bugsnax too, you’ll see what I mean when I say it wipes the floor with Legends Arceus.
Fav tracks (THE WHOLE FUCKING ALBUM ((except maybe Charwee’s Day Out))): Sunrise Over Snaktooth Island, Welcome to Snaxburg, You’re The Journalist!

Donut County
Why should I apologise for delivering this pathetic, vegetable-eating coyote a donut?
In 2017, I got a lot of ads for free mobile games where you play as a hole in the ground that expands as you consume objects of increasing size. In 2018, Donut County came out; a game where you play as a hole in the ground that expands as you consume objects of increasing size. Over the years I’ve seen a lot of YouTubers say they thoroughly enjoyed Donut County, but I was always scared away by its price tag. After all, why should I pay $30 for a game that’s identical to all those free mobile games I kept getting ads for?
But then one day as I was listening to my Discover Weekly playlist on Spotify, one song came on that had me thinking “oh shit this one’s a banger”. I checked what it was and it was Garbage Day, from the Donut County soundtrack. I decided ok, I’ll get the game someday, and a few months later I got bored and said fuck it.
Turns out it’s a short game, so I was able to beat it in a 3-hour sitting, but damn did I have fun. The gameplay is very simple - you move the hole around and make stuff fall in it - but it’s tight. The gameplay is tight. Not the hole. The hole is very expansive.
The story goes as follows: Everyone in Donut County is already in the hole, and each level is a flashback that tells the story of how each character ended up in the hole. At about the game’s halfway point though, a loose end gives everyone a glimmer of hope that they may somehow be able to get out of the hole.
The gameplay takes the story as an opportunity to explore new ways you can make the hole interact with the world. You can solve puzzles involving which objects you swallow in what order, ejecting certain objects to knock things down from high places, and more. It takes the simple mechanic and plays with it in some really fun and interesting ways.
MUSIC: Daniel Koester has a very particular style that I haven’t heard in video games before. It’s like lo-fi, but Daniel focuses a lot more on percussion than most lo-fi artists I’ve heard. A lot of clicks and snaps and other fun sounds make the soundtrack particularly unique, but it never disturbs the fun and casual vibe which is rounded off by lighthearted guitar. Hell yeah, I’d listen to this soundtrack for any reason.
As far as $30 mobile games go, I definitely like Donut County the most.
Fav tracks: Garbage Day, Slackers, Honey.

Fatum Betula
Long ago I was gifted immortality. At first I was relieved. But 50 years into my new situation… I began to rot.
I really can’t describe Fatum Betula as anything other than a surreal masterpiece. It’s a walking simulator in which you search for liquids to feed the fountain of life, but there really does seem to be a much deeper meaning to it. For each liquid you feed the fountain, there’s a different ending to be found. This makes it a really fun puzzle to try and find/create new liquids in search of all 10 endings, interacting with the characters you meet and the world in really interesting ways.
The music is generally ambient and incredibly peaceful to listen to. If I could stream it anywhere other than YouTube, I’d sleep to it. It’s got this sense of melancholia about it that invokes this feeling of reflection as it draws you further into the world.
The graphics are that of a PS1 game, which really adds to the charm of the game alongside the dialogue and aforementioned soundtrack. It’s peaceful, melancholy, and invokes feelings of longing for a time and place you’ve never even been.
There’s also a healthy amount of comedy in it, though. From the old diver’s love for the ocean, to the literal angel that tells you something horrible about your future, to the Skeleton Ending, to the bizarre messages you read on the TV. This game has a great way of sweeping the rug from beneath your feet with an unexpected laugh.
Fav tracks: Cherry Daydream, Red Memories, Drifting
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Metroid Dread
You are faced with overwhelming power. Accept your helplessness.
Metroid Dread is the only Metroid game I’ve played, but I appreciated that it’s incredibly friendly to new audiences. I tried to play Metroid 4 on the SNES Emulator for the Switch, but I didn’t get far.
The story is simple but effective, and Samus’ abilities start from scratch which gives you plenty of time to acclimate to them as you rediscover what Samus can do. The maps are diverse, and there’s an abundance of exploration to do in each area, but none of the areas get stale because each new ability you find (which is a lot btw) unlocks a new area to explore.
I feel like I’m sounding like a broken record here, but the ambient soundtrack does a fantastic job of setting the mood, but that extends to the sound design too. In particular, the E.M.M.I.s are absolutely fucking terrifying. You know all those memes about how the pitter-patter of the piano at the start of the Guardian theme in Breath of the Wild is supposed to be the “sound that gives everyone a heart attack”? I never got that. I get that chill from the beeping of the E.M.M.I.s though. Those guys are so much scarier than Guardians, especially when they’re chasing you. Those motherfuckers are a well-designed enemy. Hell yeah.
What I really want to talk about, though, is how my dumbfuck friend ruined my night a few weeks ago while I was in the middle of my second playthrough. I was on the phone with him and I don’t remember exactly what led to this topic - I think we were recounting legendary Reddit moments (“I Also Choose This Guy’s Dead Wife”, “You Like That You Fucking R****d”, etc.), but he referenced a “Redditor who’s in love with his imaginary cockroach girlfriend”.
I, not having heard about this, immediately asked him what the fuck he was talking about, because it sounded like he was pranking me. He proceeds to find - and read out loud to me - this series of Reddit posts from some guy who watched too many Cronenberg movies, and created an imaginary girlfriend named Ogtha, who was a giant cockroach, but with a human vagina. Fucking… Ogtha. What kind of name is that?? It’s incredible how bad this story gets, though. A cockroach tulpa gf wasn’t bad enough, this dude managed to fuck his entire life up THREE DIFFERENT TIMES, YEARS APART because of this delusion.
I really recommend reading the entire story yourself. It’s horrible, and you’ll be outraged multiple times, each time worse than before. I bring this up because now Ogtha the Cockroach is now permanently intertwined with my memories of Metroid Dread. Her name is Ogtha. Why is her name Ogtha? I hate everything about this story.
Metroid Dread is a great game, though.
Fav tracks: Ataria II, Ferenia, Burenia I.
How about Todd Habberkorn? (I hope I wrote his surname correctly XD) And Happy New Year!
It's just one B, but it's such a unique last name and I'm absolutely sure I've misspelled it a few times too XD But also Happy New Year to you too!
So Todd Haberkorn plays M!Morgan, Joshua, and Siegbert. He's also famously known for playing Ling in FMA:B and Natsu from FairyTail and Death the Kid (lots of well known roles), and other roles that are my favorite of his are Sho Minazuki from Persona Ultimax, and one of the twins from Ouran High School whose name escapes me right now.
Ok, performance-wise, I'm gonna get this out of the way. When Todd was first brought into FEH to play M!Morgan and Joshua... it was bad. BUT I DON'T BLAME HIM BECAUSE WHOEVER WAS DOING THE VOICE DIRECTING AT THE TIME WAS FUCKING IT UP FOR A LOT OF ACTORS. Like I mentioned before, Bryce Papenbrook, Antony Del Rio, and Greg Chun (yes I know I said Greg Chun has issues with his own acting, but in part I DO blame a good chunk of it on whoever was voice directing him, too) all are actors who actually have a history of being great fucking actors. But his M!Morgan and Joshua were so flat, especially M!Morgan, my baby boy! And I'm not saying any of this to be mean, I LOVE Todd Haberkorn! I met him at a con in 2018 and I got his signature, which is still hanging up in my room (Along with Johnny Yong Bosch's signature). But damn if he wasn't screwed over by the voice director when he first came to FEH. However, it DID get better when he became the new voice for Siegbert. Even though I mentioned before that I'm more partial to David Stanbra's Siegbert (and we already went into a spiel about Stanbra on Xander Mobus's critique so I'm not doing that again, lol), Todd was a great pick as a replacement and his voice started emoting more, giving Siegbert that mild and slightly insecure tone. And finally, FINALLY, when we got the fallen Morgans and summer Joshua, we got to hear great performances for those characters! Oh and don't even get me STARTED on Ascended Joshua, that performance makes me blush. So overall, his performance is great, he just got screwed over in the beginning with that awful voice direction. Wait until we get Metody, then we'll REALLY get a great performance from him.
I think he fits all his characters perfectly, Todd has a very distinct voice that works in his favor for playing younger characters, just like Yuri Lowenthal.
Now range... again, I HATE to be so mean to Todd, but just because I love him doesn't mean I should be biased or overlook honest critique. Todd's range IS very limited, due to his distinct voice. Even though it's a perfect voice for voice-acting and his emotional performance is fantastic, his voice isn't exactly a great voice for range. Does he make up for it with inflection and emotion? Hell yeah, and that's what sets him apart from other VAs who might struggle with range. Although, even though I'm not super familiar with it, I heard he played some older character in Drakengard 3 (hope I spelled that right myself) which surprised the heck out of me when I looked it up.
All in all, Todd is a good comfortable 8/10. I adore his work and I hate that he got screwed over by the bad voice directing when I KNOW his voice acting is top-quality.
#Fire Emblem Heroes#FEH#ask game#Todd Haberkorn#My signature I have from him is a drawing I made (really crappy mind you; it was when I was still trying to get the hang of drawing)#Of Ling holding a room service bill referencing that one scene in FMA:B where he asks Ed to pay the room service bill#I don't care much for a lot of English dubs in anime these days but I will always love Todd's dub roles
orphaned young and raised by his aunt may & uncle ben in queens, peter parker was never popular. he was a genius, and shy, and a bit of an asshole, focused on keeping his head down and just getting out. and then at fifteen, he was bitten by a radioactive spider, and everything changed. with newfound powers, he could have stopped a robber from killing his uncle ben, but he didn’t, and he resolved to never let anyone get hurt on his watch ever again, no matter what it took. he became spider-man, a hero, a vigilante, a man cut in two--amazing in the mask, an absolute train wreck out of it. when gwen stacy, his first love, died because of him, he doubled down. after a long road of stops and starts, he finally finished college, took a pause from grad school, and is now back at the daily bugle working as a freelance photographer. it barely pays the bills, he’s exhausted all the time (what else is new), he’s kind of bad at it, and it’s soul-sucking, but he’s got a double life to maintain.
(there’s a lot of fanart of him with a very specific freckle pattern and i think it’s cute i’m keeping it). surprisingly very buff under all that flannel.
tattoos: none
voice / accent: american; a bit raspy, a bit of an old-school new york accent (comes out stronger when he’s stressed or in the suit; he’s genuinely not sure if this is subconscious or a disguise choice) – i use yuri lowenthal in the games as a voice claim <3
clothing style: lol. baggy sweatshirts, worn-in flannels, graphic t-shirts, battered converse. sometimes inexplicably a lot of black turtlenecks. right at that intersection between respectably disheveled nerd and skater boy grunge. he wears his suit underneath his everyday clothes most of the time. usual expression: intense concentration; confused; a little angry and stand-offish
character’s soft spot: children, i guess
habits: u know that thing of just being really fidgety all the time & drumming your fingers on every available surface & jittering your leg up and down? yeah that
PAST
hometown: forest hills, queens, new york, usa
childhood: pete’s mother, mary, died when he was young, and he was raised by his uncle ben and aunt may (he never knew his father). he got his powers at 15; ben died when he was 15; the two things are related; it’s a sore spot. it’s been him and may since. (and, apparently, his father, tony stark, trying to get in the picture)
dream job: fully-funded scientist/researcher (maybe a professor? maybe working at/running his own tech company? maybe winning some awards? who knows!)
education: graduated midtown high at the top of his class; ba & biochemical engineering from empire state university; started a phd, but intermitted.
FAMILY
mother: mary fitzpatrick parker (deceased)
father: richard parker (deceased)
relationship: mary & richard died before peter was old enough to really remember them--were they scientists? spies? all he knows for sure is that he was loved.
uncle: ben parker (deceased)
relationship: pete considers ben his real father/figure. the man raised him, despite never wanting children of his own. they were very very close, even if ben could get a bit gruff and standoffish and didn’t entirely understand his booksmart genius little nephew (and pete could get angry and hole himself up in his room with books for days at a time). peter can’t forgive himself for letting ben die. everything he does is in his memory.
aunt: may parker
relationship: pete considers may his mother; they’re extremely close, and he tries to have dinner with her at least once a week, if he remembers. or makes time. he’s very protective of her, and she’s very protective of him, and they support each other in everything–it’s just the two of them, it has to be.
PRESENT
current location: manhattan, new york
currently living with: n/a (pete lives in a tiny shoebox studio apartment by himself and with a rotating number of good old fashioned new york city roaches and rats. it’s a mess.)
pets: n/a
occupation: science teacher at midtown high
religion: jewish, somewhere in the mostly secular reform/reconstructionist vein (had a bar mitzvah, celebrates the major holidays, not much else)
political affiliation: peter parker voted for bernie sanders change my mind (democrat, views voting as a flawed by necessary responsibility bc he unfortunately cannot punch his way into systemic change) (spider-man has been anti-cop, pro-prison abolition, pro-union, and pretty active with civil rights movements since the late 1960s we’re proud of him)
HEALTH
physical ailments: genetically mutated spider dna? bad back? one time he gave himself a stress ulcer love that for him; weirdly predisposed to colds
neurological conditions: all undiagnosed bc this bitch won’t see a therapist but! anxiety, depression, ptsd, likely adhd
allergies: none that he knows of
sleeping habits: hahahahahahahaha
eating habits: his metabolism is absurdly fast, his exercise regimen out of control, and his wallet can’t keep up. he doesn’t have the time, resources, energy, or skills to cook for himself often (though he can do an ok stir fry), so he mostly gets by on inexpensive takeout and frozen meals. he’s particularly fond of pizza and thai food
exercise habits: mostly just patrol/spider-man duties/swinging around the city with nothing but his upper body and core strength; he’ll sometimes work out to stay in shape and burn energy
emotional stability: no.
sociability: he has friends, but he’s always considered himself a loner. he’s better at making plans than keeping them, and has an advanced degree in self-sabotaging his relationships. he’s good for a movie night (if he bothers to show up or doesn’t jump out the window halfway through), but if he starts to feel threatened, the walls go up, and the bridges get burned
body temperature: slightly warmer than average
addictions: arguably, being spider-man
drug use: not really?
alcohol use: nothing extensive; a little socially, but very rarely, and particularly won’t drink around harry. needs to stay alert to be spidey at a moment’s notice. he’s been known to literally order milk at a bar. i hate him.
FAVORITES:
weather: the way i’m tempted to say broody and rainy. no. like a nice crisp autumn day with a little bit of a breeze and a nice amount of sun and pretty leaves
color: red
music: alt- and indie-rock, mostly; he also listened to a lot of 70s and 80s music with ben and still enjoys it
movies: schlocky sci-fi and fantasy (he’s big fan of zombieland, star wars, and lotr)
sport: baseball
beverage: cheap black burnt coffee
food: aunt may’s wheat cakes <3 and a good bagel with schmear
animal: he is…. not actually….. really much of an animal person….. but he will cross the street to pet a good dog and enjoys other people’s cats
EXTRA
what’s in his edc (everyday carry): inside the same battered and lovingly patched-up navy jansport he’s had since his senior year of college: headphones (tangled), cell phone (broken), laptop (cracked), chargers, pack of gum (half-empty), clif bar, spare web cartridges, lab notebook, cheap ball point pen, old pencils, wallet (empty), metrocard, change of clothes, water bottle (half-empty, crumpled, disposable, lukewarm), house keys & carabiner
mbti: infp
enneagram: type 5, the investigator
🐠 Anon
Good thing, no work today, bad think, they kicked me out to go to the shop for ingredients for cooking
Also it's been snowing again for almost all day today
Now skipping over the fact that I hate winter
Faceless Ayato better un-shadowbans you or it's going to be hunting season for him as a prey lol
If I punch faceless Ayato in the void of his face, does my hand vanishes inside? Or I hit something?? Does he has nerves there???
Also about Diluc/Dainsleif working better for creepypastas
1. I'm pretty sure that in 2020 I saw some creepypasta about dainsleif
2. I have sketch somewhere of Childe as Jeff (friend's dare for me on their birthday lmao)
Also, does anybody remember when Albedo was trending because of that glitch where his whole body, clothes etc were black/void except for his face? Like just face, not including eyes that were also black??
Was scared for a moment thinking you got fired or something– I remember romanticizing snow as a kid and wanting to experience it but now that I'm technically an adult this sounds painful cuz I'm incredibly lazy lol–
... bro you raise some good fricking questions.
Yandere Faceless!Ayato with a void for a face. I want that. I want that so bad.
Imagine trying to squirm from his grip by elbowing his face and you feel N O T H I N G. Just the void. And imagine if he gets pissed and you start seeing his floating eyes visibly twitch and you feel his chest rumble for what you couldn't distinguish between amused laughter... Or pure anger.
Me rambling about dain & diluc don't mind this lol:
------
Okay suddenly got the motivation to explain back lol
Why creepypasta!Dainsleif works:
I remember seeing some posts about how Dain always looks at the camera when you're taking photos... Which, I don't think is necessarily true, but his eye design makes it seem like that
Look at him. Look at this jerk and his chilling stare in my low graphics android screenshot lmao
The bastard just have that "I'm always watching" vibes. Why would he be the protag on my SAGAU au? (Because you're a Dainsleif simp in need of content ansy that's why–) It's because out of all the characters, Dainsleif's probably the most likely candidate of being self-aware. (That, and you're a simp ansytea–)
Dainsleif has such an ominous title too, being the Bough Keeper or iirc something along the lines of "the one who picks up branches" in CN makes him sound so ominous. He probably collects the "branches"/memories of the Leylines. Who knows. Maybe he found a way to connect to your world.
And. Just. This line:
"I know all that I need to know."
It's so ominous. It's short but I absolutely fricking love the way Yuri Lowenthal said it.
He'd make a good genshin!Lost Silver I swear it. He'd pass the assignment. Him and his weird zalgo looking "element" lmao.
Why creepypasta Diluc works. And it's definitely not biased:
Based on personal experience lmao–
I'm not joking. 99% of this is based on personal experience. Why do I have C2 Diluc in my main and C0 in my second (which i only use to pull when there's freemogems)
My first Diluc came home on standard at 77th pull. I remember this well, thinking wow that's lucky!!! I got my older sibling's favorite!!! As a AR49 Kaeya main before, I wasn't too thrilled since I believed in Kaeya supremacy. Diluc's alright, no real malice against him!!!
Okay second account time let's test our luc– Oh, it's Diluc. Guess I finally have a proper dps in that account and not Kokomi!!! (that's a lie I still use Kokomi as a DPS.)
Alright, back to main! I'm gonna do a 10 pull in the standard again and I'm chanting "C4 KAEYA C4 KAEYA C4 KAEYA" with my eyes closed and oh I got C1 Qiqi! Love my lil zombie dps but wrong cryo sword character but– C1 DILUC WTF OH NO WRONG BROTHER WRONG BROTHER–
But it's fine! It's great– I've never gotten lucky in the standard! I always reach hard pity so having a double 5 star is so "w o w"!!!
Okay cool it's been weeks since then, let's try our luck in Nahida's banner!!! We've been saving up for her since Cyno!!! It'll be fine!!!
...
... You... You can fill in the blanks–
Okay but in a less personal answer: diluc makes a good fricking creepypasta if you think about his feral phase. Like, the phase where he was absolutely phckass mad and killed fatui members without a vision.
You imagining him in that phase? Good.
Now imagine him phcking g l i t c h i n g. Imagine him in anguish, complaining that the codes are cruel to him. Diluc doesn't seem to care that Venti is his archon– what more for his creators?
#ansytea-talks#🐠 anon#faceless ayato#yandere faceless ayato#that yan faceless tag is cursed considering my shadowban but I'll still use it cuz lmao#dainsimping hours#okay maybe i shouldnt write that AFTER faceless ayato lmao#i dont hate diluc i swear i fricking love the guy i wrote like an 8 chapter enemies to lovers fic aND I CANT FIND IT ANYMORE
Uhm hi!
How are you? I have two questions if your don’t mind and have time to answer them:
1. the letter Sakura gets from Sasukes Hawke many people say it’s for naruto since it’s his weeding. But also some say it’s for Sakura since it’s her birthday. I’ll think it’s for her. He could order the hawke to give it naruto? Also why would be blush if he just send a letter for his friend?
2. sasuke voiceactor made a 15 min video how „sasuke“ explain his feelings for Sakura and he stated that sasuke always loved her but couldn’t grasped that feeling because it has the potential to hurt him. Do you think that’s really a possibility? Or just for us sasusaku fans?
Thank you 🙏 and I hope my English was ok
The letter that Sakura gets from Sasuke was almost certainly meant for Naruto. I say this for a few reasons.
Firstly, the show made absolutely no indication whatsoever that it was Sakura’s birthday, so for Sasuke to have sent her a congratulations letter for that purpose wouldn’t have made any sense.
Secondly, for him to have just ignored his best friend getting married and send a letter to Sakura without even mentioning anything for Naruto would have been very disrespectful.
Thirdly, who says “congratulations” for someone's birthday anyway? You say “happy birthday”, not “congratulations”. People saying congratulations is to acknowledge and celebrate an achievement (like getting married), but someone’s birthday is not an achievement; It’s a natural and recurring event.
Regarding Sakura blushing, I was told a while ago that in Japan, couples traditionally send their wedding congratulations together, so Sasuke sending his wedding congratulations for Naruto to Sakura, gave the slight implication that they were a couple, giving Naruto their wedding congratulations together, and that explains Sakura's blush in the anime while she was reading the note.
And as for Yuri Lowenthal's Sasuke ASMR video, it was just a bit of SS fan service that he posted on Sasuke's birthday. It doesn't have any bearing or relevance to any canon material at all.
omg so glad you thought the same about twv!! I just finished and so many different parts of the last episode made me so mad, idk if they're trying for a season 6 (even after saying this is the finale) but I'm not going to listen anymore. if you have recs for similar podcasts i would rly love them
lol I’m glad some people enjoyed my incandescent rage. Like. Woof.
I’m so sorry you had to sit through that finale. And baiting a new show just. Doesn’t do anything for me. There are so many ways TWV fell short and didn’t follow through that there is absolutely no way that I believe another show by the same writers will do any better. So handshake through the screen, Anon; I am sharing and understanding your problem.
As for recommendations, I like horror podcasts, but I usually like cosmic horror and folk horror bestwhich is a slightly different flavor of horror usually? Also a lot of the horror that I like is in book form. But for podcast recs, You’ve probably heard all of the ones I like, but here are some ones that I did enjoy:
-The Silt Verses: folk horror. Only one season is currently out. You get a lot of religious trauma, evil capitalism, and mythology somewhere in between nielman and Old Gods of Appalachia. A lot of old gods and their religions have been banned by the government. Two disciples of one of these illegal gods, a river god, are traveling the river looking for evidence of their god’s miracles and existence. The god itself, like All of the gods in this world, is horrifying and requires human sacrifice, the two disciples are both serial killers; and the state-sanctioned gods and the police sent after these disciples are Even Worse.
-The Magnus Archives: Cosmic horror/horror tragedy. Everyone and their dog seems to have listened to this but yeah. I’ve listened to it at least 3 times through. Very very good at not answering every possible question but knowing what questions need answering and answering those. Favorite. Also, I enjoy that it is and was always intended to be a horror tragedy, but that one character became So Powerful in personality and beliefs that they changed the way the author wrote the end. And capitalism is evil.
-Old Gods of Appalachia: LOVE this one. Cosmic horror/folk horror anthology. Capitalism is Definitely Evil. Really, really good understanding of the people and culture it draws from—which makes it feel kind of like home. Lots of angry and powerful women, lots of nuance, fantastic environment, Yuri Lowenthal was there?
-Alice Isn’t Dead: Surreal horror/cosmic horror. Creepy Americana. A woman thinks her wife is dead and then starts to see her in the background on the news, and then becomes a truck driver for the company the wife worked for in order to search for her. A complete story with a beginning, middle, and end. Good at knowing which questions to answer. Capitalism is evil. Human beings are hard.
-Hello From the Hallowoods: This show is so /comforting/ despite the horrible things that happen in it that it’s almost strange to call it horror. But it still is. It’s just a very kind horror podcast. This is fantasy horror and cosmic horror. The world changed and began to end when a cosmic horror-type god (an Indescribable) who was then killed, introduced a black rain and black water that killed a lot of life and has altered the rest. The dead rarely stay dead; but they come back changed. There are Monsters in the poisoned world. And a lot of the monsters are just people. A lot of the human people are monsters in disguise. The generation that saw the black rain start is in late middle-age and the children were born into this world. There’s a Huge cast, pretty much every character is queer, pretty much every character is nuanced, and there’s So Much Religious Trauma. Also, capitalism is evil; most of North America (at LEAST) was run by a company whose goal is to have all humans become their ‘customers’ whose bodies are protected while their minds exist in a sort of shared-dream world that was heavily marketed even before the world ended. There’s a huge rotating cast (including undead romance, undead robots, demons trying to defect from Hell, a girl trying to rescue her disappeared girlfriend and her kidnapped-by-capitalism mom, an invisible man, a forest-based commune under attack by evolving frogs, and a sentient car). Everything is narrated by an Extremely Invested and extremely comforting Indescribable whose domain is Watching Everything.
-Welcome to Nightvale. Guys, the show has run longer than it should have. It ran into problems when it started to try to answer some of its many long-running questions that shouldn’t have been answered; and the answers were so much less compelling than the questions. It sort of ossified eventually. BUT. The first several years of this show? Were amazing. This is the Foundation of modern narrative podcasts, and the father of queer podcasts. It’s the reason this medium is so much more diverse than others. This is surreal horror/horror comedy. And the first several years give you an Incredible Environment, occasional real fear, and /The/ Narrator (you don’t GET Jon Sims or Nikigkik or even Doug Eiffel without Cecil Palmer! You just Don’t). I think everyone should listen to this show, at least all of the way through the Strex Corp arc. Capitalism is evil, community is everything.
Honorable Mentions go to:
-I am In Eskew: surreal horror/cosmic horror. Sometimes a person just ends up in this incredibly fucked-up city. This isn’t my favorite kind of horror. But. It was well-written, is a complete story, and it was interesting. It raised some questions that I thought were left too open-ended. But the main character’s arc was told so thoroughly and completely, that I’ll forgive it. The confusing and unfinished vibes are confused and unfinished and bigger-than-the-story like Neverwhere*. If Neverwhere was surreal horror about an environment/city/genius locus that wants to just completely break your mind. Capitalism is still evil.
-Wolf 359: Sci-fi horror/thriller. Starts off as an episodic sci-fi comedy with off notes. Becomes a horror-thriller. Not my favorite brand of horror; some of the plot gets a little convoluted for me; but I did really like the character work. Capitalism is still evil.
*Neverwhere is one of my favorite books ever though. So the vibe isn’t what I didn’t love. It’s just the genre
Anon, again, I’m very sorry; and I hope you find something much better to listen to next.
If anyone else has recs for Anon, please chime in!
