Day 12
Hello all who have followed along so far or may be new! I’m posting from my laptop today, not my phone, so hopefully everything still comes through okay. I wrote this in Word and then had to copy and past for the bullet points as I’ve never used the laptop before.
Imagine how the ghost crew and others would react to you remembering something little about them.
Price
Price fixes you with a puzzled look as you set his coffee down in front of him already made. He can’t recall telling you how to make it, as usually he just had it brought to him black and he’d fix it himself.
“How did you know how I take my coffee?”
“I’ve watched you make it almost every morning sir, I tend to pick up on patterns.” You smile, laughing slightly as you leave his office.
He grins to himself, blaming the warmth he feels on the drink in his hands.
Ghost
Ghost watches warily as you slide a mug across the table to him. You raise an eyebrow in response, taking a sip of your drink.
“What’s wrong Lt?” You ask.
“What is that?” He grumbles, eyes flicking from the mug to you.
“Tea? I know you prefer it to coffee.”
“Most people don’t make it how I drink it.”
“And I’ve watched you make it most every morning Lt, I learn fast.” You turn your eyes to the newspaper splayed out on the table, picking it up.
Ghost takes a drink, pleasantly surprised that indeed, you had made his drink the way he prefers.
Soap
Soap didn’t initially notice you setting a plate in front of him as you sat down across from him, engrossed in a conversation about sparring later that afternoon with Gaz. After a few moments he feels a nudge on his elbow, looking down to see a sandwich on a plate.
“What’s this?” He asks, cocking his head at you.
“Food. I haven’t seen you eat this morning, and if you’re sparring with Gaz here later, you should probably eat something.”
“Watchin’ me are you?” He jokes, picking up the sandwich and taking a bite as he turns back to Gaz. He freezes for a moment, whipping his head over to look at you. You snort a laugh, watching recognition flash across his features.
“How did you-“
“You eat the same one every time you get the chance Soap.”
Gaz
Gaz didn’t think people paid too much attention to him, so when you presented him with a bag of sweets, he was shocked.
“How did you know I liked these?”
“You constantly have them on you Gaz, I don’t think I’ve seen you go more than a few days without some other than long field missions.” You laughed, patting his shoulder and moving on with your tasks.
The smile that crept onto his face was unshakeable for the rest of the day.
Alejandro
Alejandro didn’t realize his homesickness was evident to the others until you had sat yourself across from him with a white bakery box.
“Hey, what was that pastry you and Rudy had mentioned you liked? Has cinnamon and sugar but it’s not a churro?”
“I think you’re thinking of sopaipillas, why?”
“I think that’s what I found?” You say, flipping the lid open and spinning it to face him. He grinned in response, looking up to you.
“Where did you get these?”
“Little hole in the wall bakery I saw, I’m not sure they’re the same as what you’d get at home, but I figured it was worth a shot.”
“Thank you, really. Here, take one.”
Rudy
Rudy was a bit different in terms of remembering things. He didn’t recall telling anyone what drinks he prefers, but when you came back to base after a quick trip out for supplies with Soap, he did a double take when he saw his favorite waiting on his cot. He figured out pretty quickly it wasn’t Soap and smiled a bit as he went about his duties.
When passing you in the halls between meetings with Alejandro and Price, he smiles and nods.
“Thanks for keeping me in mind.” He murmurs, and then he’s gone again.
König
König is a very private person, similar to Ghost. However, a minor detail he didn’t guard closely was what kind of cookies he’d usually pick up whenever he had the chance.
You picked up the trend after a few times, and when you were out and about at one point, you snagged a pack while he stuck in a meeting.
You had slipped it to him as you passed him in the halls, looking over your shoulder and catching him staring at the package you’d given him. He looked up and nodded, waving as the door closed behind you.
