Listen. I like the demiurge precisely BECAUSE of the Gnostic lore surrounding him. The Christian God’s never gone through hardships. He got crucified once but that’s nothing compared to what the demiurge went through. It’s like comparing Odin sacrificing himself to himself to Loki sacrificing himself for future of the whole world. So anyways, the Demiurge went through hardship and suffering. His mom didn’t love him no one loved him he was locked away as a literal baby he grew up in isolation and abuse and without love and kindness and comfort and the leader of the land sought to destroy him since he was a baby. The leader of the land hated him because he posed a threat to his power. That is some horrific shit to have to go through. And it was precisely because of this hardship and suffering, and because of the love and the longing and the beauty he inherently had in his heart that he created a world so beautiful, so amazing, so sacred. And he created us to experience the beauty of the world and the beauty of each other and the beauty of love. In anti Gnosticism God literally IS the outcast, God literally IS the stranger, God literally IS the powerless, God literally IS the child. And I love that. I love that so much. I can think of no better person to create the universe than an abused child. Of course I’m still Lokean and I’m still going to be Lokean forever because it’s fucking awesome and I love monistic polytheism/polytheistic monism and I love the complete lack of rules in the religion. But I am very very inspired by the demiurge and I love him and I specifically love the version of him that was made by the gnostics.

Listen I love agathario as much as the next gay but it’s simply incorrect to say ‘this show was supposed to be about agathario why is there so much focus on billy :((’

The show was never marketed that way — all the trailers very much focus on Agatha and Billy. Also, the way shows/movies handle press tells you everything. Kathryn Hahn and Joe Locke have been doing the most press and are paired together for junkets — they are the main characters of the show. Aubrey Plaza and Patti Lupone have also been doing a fair amount of press (though less than Kathryn and Joe) and they are paired together for junkets — they’re the most famous (aka highest billed) SECONDARY characters. Sasheer Zamata, Debra Jo Rupp, and Ali Ahn have done almost no individual press and were paired together for junkets — they are the rest of the secondary cast.

I also want more development for Agathario, but we’ve gotta stop assuming that just because a storyline or character is introduced early on it means that the show is going to center around that story or character. It’s just bad media consumption.

The show is very clearly about Agatha and Billy, their relationship, and their respective journeys of self-actualization (which are obviously set up to mirror each other). Agathario is at best a B plot.

I feel like I’m trying to reinvent the wheel here because I’m trying to make a new version of Billy’s TCC (The Children’s Crusade) costume because it’s just that good of a costume that really lends a element of androgyny I kinda want my AU Billy to have (gender is soup and we’re all here for fun and vibes) plus the fact he is a legacy character for a female character I kinda wanna lean into that (can’t do the crown anymore though THANKS MCU/neg *sobs*)

Ngl I just want Billy Kaplan-Altman to radiate pretty boy energy…like he’s the most stunning motherfucker alive and he knows it…

Jumping on the bandwagon of ‘something was different about that last trial’ — in all the other trials all the witches kept their necklaces/gems/brooches (they even pointed it out in the first trial, with Alice freaking out about it being gone before realizing it traveled with them despite the costume change, and Agatha sighing in relief when she finds the locket attached to her lapel)

In the episode 5 trial, though, none of them have their necklaces. Paired with the aspect ratio not changing as others have pointed out, I think it was a deliberate choice to make the trial look Off. I don’t know if it means it was Billy’s illusion, or something the Salem seven did, or whatever other theories are going around. It is notable, though.
