Takayama, Japan. Amazing day out in this historic city. What was described online as a quaint day trip is actually an overnight excursion. Glad I was able to make it to the Hida Folk Village. It’s a collection of historic buildings from the surrounding areas and described the daily life of farmers in Gifu province. So I boarded a train to a city I didn’t know much about. I got a castle, a garden, and a samurai village! Kanazawa is one of the cities that wasn’t bombed in WW2. Day biking in Naoshima Island. Not everything I expected but the surprises that awaited me in the Chichu Museum of art was amazing.
