okay so. number one she is so fucked in the head. her parents got killed like months before meeting light and then she got mugged by a stalker so i think it’s safe to say that misa did not become crazy attatched to light for no reason. she was vulnerable at that moment and might not have gone to the same depths if shed met light a year later.

number two her core motivation is to be loved and light promises that to her + the internalized misogyny is strong with this one.

^ like look at this shit. also i think misa is on some level aware that light doesnt really love her see panel on the left below this. face of denial. but she just treats that and any other problems in the relationship like its her fault and that she needs to win him over

number three the whole “annoying dumb cute girl” persona is not what she’s actually like and she’s aware of this. this isnt that hard to figure out she’s a model and an actor and so obviously she plays up aspects of her personality

also something interesting is that near the end of the series she is separated from light most of the time and she becomes more silly i.e. she’s happier without him. she really doesnt actually like light as a person she just likes having the idea of a husband.

a lot of people seem to think shes just this really badly written character with no depth just because she was written by a misogynist and that leads to no one treating her like an actual character which ironically perpetuates the misogyny etc. also i havent been super into dn as of late so this analysis my be inaccurate. thanks for letting me ramble about misa lol

Had to go back and watch a lot of death footage for this - some interesting things I noticed: Cleo died with her back to the person killing her in every life except limited life. Another interesting thing about limited life: nobody got time or credit for killing Cleo. From grians perspective it looks like he could have done it, but I'm pretty sure it was pearl because in Cleo's footage it looks like she died before the arrow reached her, so pretty confident it was pearl with the axe. A sad thing I noticed: since the triple g alliance, Scott has killed Pearl and Pearl has killed Cleo.
