Yume is so done with pica! She doesn't feel like eating anything but wax and dry pasta, she doesnt want "real food". Everyone around her thinks shes weird for it. She can tell they see Yume as childish or stupid. She hates how it scares other people away. Yume just want to be able to act like a normal person. It's harming her health too. But she can't stop. Real food isn't a good enough alternative.
-Yume
Hi Yume! I'm sorry to hear you're struggling with this, and that you're not getting more helpful support. I know that it can be tempting to wish you could do things the normal way, but it's okay to do things in a not-normal way if that's what helps you function.
For example, I am wondering if you might try experimenting with different cereals/granola textures? You could put them on a plate and pick at them to replicate the sense of eating something crunchy without having to eat non-food items. Same thing with breads: could you toast them enough to make them crunchy, then pick at them?
For your micronutrients, might you be able to blend fruits into smoothies? This also might take some experimenting, but you might find it easier to drink your nutrients rather than eating them.
Stim toys like chewies for neurodivergent people might help you safely get your "bite needs" filled when you're struck by the urge to put non-food items in your mouth.
And finally, have you been able to get to the doctor? Most research seems to indicate that some degree of vitamin/mineral deficiency is the root cause of PICA. It would probably be helpful for you to identify what you're missing and take vitamins/supplements to help you stay healthy. If you're not getting nutrients, your PICA is likely to get worse. An experienced doctor might be able to help guide you through a treatment plan as well.
I'm sorry, I don't know very much about PICA so I don't know what else I can do to help, but I can tell you that finding a way to function that works for you is much better than trying too hard to do everything the "normal" way.

Perfume, fleece & pigment <3
Ask game
I am super sorry for responding to this so late, at first I though tumblr ate the ask cause for some reason it’s been doing th at lately but it was in my drafts so here we go! Sorry this is so long but I wanted to share some pics of my dogs! @homicidal-slvt
Perfume- favorite scent?
So I love the smell of coffee but my favorite candle is Better Homes & Garden Warm Leather & Amber. I’m not sure why but I absolutely love the way it smells and every time I go to Walmart I stop to smell it!
Fleece- have any pets?
I’ve talked about this a little before but I have four dogs! (A lot I know lol they drive me crazy but I love them dearly) 3 German Shepherd mixes (1 girl 2 boys) and a beagle chihuahua mix (a boy)
This is Diamond (or Sweet Sweet), she’s the mom of our other two german shepherds and her favorite things are laying out in the sun and crying for attention all the time 😂
Then this is Titan, yes his name matches how big of a dog he is. Sometimes I call him a “tank of a dog” or a “behemoth of a dog” but he loves playing and he can talk to you. For example he can tell you he’s really hungry, tell you he loves you, that he’s thirsty, and he has recently started asking us to not leave when we’re about to leave for work 😅
Then there’s Chewie (technically my dog but he loves my dad a lot for some reason 🙄 he’s a ball of energy and likes to bite my arm like it’s a chew toy if he gets to excited 💀 oh and his favorite snack are Qtips and loaves of bread 😭 the amount of time I’ve had to dig around in his mouth for a Qtips is ridiculous *sigh*
(he loves to sleep too)
The there’s the small little demon dog Boogie (technically his name is Max but we hardly call him that) and he loves to try and act like he’s the biggest dog lol him and Chewie have a love hate relationship cause one minute they’re laying with each other then the next it’s like their arguing over who gets to lay with me 😂
Oh and he loves to claw the shit out of you 💀
Pigment- what color is your hair naturally? if you could dye it any color which one would you choose?
So I have naturally brown hair, it’s pretty dark but I do have red tones in it when I’m in the sun which I adore! Fun fact about me, I’ve never dyed my hair. I’ve wanted to and at one point I was actually going to get some like bronze or some type of red highlights but this was when I was like 12 so I don’t really remember but I have always loved the idea of doing some sort of dark purple! Most likely not all of my hair but like the lower half of it like a temporary dye or something? Tbh I haven’t put to much thought into it but yeah 🫠
#I truly love my dogs but they can take so much work#let’s just say my next pet is going to be a cat 🙃#anyways#random0lover rambling ♡#random0lover things about me#❁ mutuals ❁#homicidal-slvt#ask game#perfume#fleece#pigment#dash games#get to know the blogger#get to know me

*Chucks a heavy-duty chewy necklace to Cole. The chewy part looks like a chocolate donut* You look like you need this bud.
“Ooh, I remember that! I forgot you had one.”
“Yeah, because I hid them and kept losing them.”
“-Because you were scared we’d make fun of you for it.” She smugly grinned.
“Shhh.”
“You’re shushing means I’m right.”
“sSSSHH” He smushed her face with his paw to shove her back, nibbling on the chewy.
“C’mon, I always thought it was cute.”
“It’s not supposed to be cute, I only did it when I was stressed...” he grumbled.
She shrugged. “I don’t mean there was anything wrong with it, it’s one of the things that made you you. Now it’s extra cute though, like a kitten biting on a toy.”
“Whahshs, I am not cute! I’m very terrifying and dangerous.”
“Ah, yes. I’m scared you might suffocate me with your fluff.”

I didn't even know mango was autistic omg!! Can you go more in depth about all that stuff? :O
Absolutely!
Mango is autistic! While it is hard to pick up on that she does have some qualities that are common with other autistic individuals.
For starters, she has special interests. She focuses a lot on botany and construction because those are things she finds genuinely fascinating. Botany because she is plant and plant is she, and construction because it's a field of work typically for strong individuals, such as herself.
She has some sensitivity to certain senses, particularly taste, touch, and sight. Things have to taste exactly the same [ex. chocolate that is labeled as normal chocolate always tastes like chocolate and not like coffee] , they have to feel correct [ex. crackers need to be crunchy and not chewy], and things cannot be too bright or too dark [ex. she does not drive at night bc people's lights tend to be too bright for her. She does not take Mod camping in the woods because it is too dark for her to see anything]
sometimes she has some sensitivity to certain sounds like high pitched tones that increase in pitch. She also has some issues with loud banging sounds which, admittedly interferes with her interest in construction, but with the proper accommodations she is able to enjoy her job.
When she was younger she did have "tantrums" which were just bouts of overstimulation and tended to do things like hit/punch where her ears would be and scream very loud. She has grown out of that for the most part but she does have to be careful about being in public settings, otherwise she will hide out and punch at her "ears". That does not happen often but it still happens.
Mango does stim, but some of them are considered harmful. Her non harmful stims include clapping, chewing on something [admin usually brings a bag of chewy stim toys everywhere they go], or just kind of stomping on the ground. Harmful stims include biting/chewing on her hands [this causing minor "bleeding" and tends to leave scarring on her hands and fingers], grinding her teeth, and depending on the environment, she will punch walls. If there is not a wall, she just hits whatever is nearest which tends to be things like toolboxes or bed frames, just anything except people.
She's does miss out on certain jokes, some regular phrases, things like that. Everyone does that but from what I've noticed being autistic and talking to other people like me, it seems to be a common thing amongst autistic individuals.
Now a lot of people will see mango being autistic and think "but she doesn't act/look autistic" and well. theres no exact way to look or act when you have autism it's not a body modification. She is still. Somewhat human [keep in mind: genetically modified mango] and thus acts and looks as such.
She is still capable of things like being a wife and mother, having a job, and many other things. She is not the only autistic character in this story [see the list at the end of this post]. I understand there seems to be a big thing with taking nonhuman characters and making them neurodivergent but I am not exclusively making all of my non humans autistic. It is 1 of 4 non humans plus 7 regular human characters.
That being said, this should not at all alter how you view mango. This should not cause her to be treated like a helpless child or cause her to be treated like she needs to be cured. She is an adult and nothing is wrong with her. I expect her to continue being treated as such.

19 Years Later
Inspired by the epilogue of Harry Potter
No matter how many years had passed, it was strange to see the isolated planet of Ahch-To crowded with so many ships and people. The Lanai did their best to round up the anxious children, many of which were playing with practice sabers or trying to catch a glimpse of the thala-sirens lounging among the jagged cliffs. Some chased after porgs or skipped along the rocky paths. The padawans were more disciplined, chatting in small groups or staying close to their parents.
For Rey Solo, she was caught up in the memories, watching it all with a quiet sense of contentment. The once ruined huts and structures had been rebuilt, made of dilapidated stone and rock. There were even temples now, classrooms for the younglings and padawans, and landing pads made of grey slab had been built offshore to accommodate the incoming ships.
Some of the Masters had made an appearance, floating among the grassy hills and rock-like structures, their pearly glow frightening some of the younger children. Lando Calrissian was among them, grinning wickedly as he always did on this day. He enjoyed watching the disbelieving students as they came to realize that many of their Masters were, in fact, Force ghosts. Luke Skywalker would be among them, but of course he always made his grand entrance at the opening ceremony.
“Oh!”
Rey was pitched forward as Leia bumped into her, the young girl’s knapsack bouncing on her back as she rushed past.
“Leia, don’t wander off too far!” Rey called after her. This was her third year, and she was finally of age to select her Kyber crystal. It was all she talked about these last few months.
Not far behind came the endless arguing that had not stopped since they left Takodana.
“They don’t really eat people,” Anakin said, sounding less confident than his words implied. “That’s just a stupid rumor.”
“Yes, they do,” his twin sister insisted. “And they’re going to eat you if you don’t—”
“Hanna,” Rey warned.
“They won’t eat me, of course,” Hanna went on, tucking back a strand of wavy black hair that never quite managed to stay confined to her braid. “They only eat darksiders.”
“I won’t be a darksider!” Anakin argued, his dark eyes flaring, his cheeks flushing. “Maybe you will be!”
“Maybe you’ll be neither,” she said with a smirk.
“Hanna, that’s enough,” came Ben’s deep voice as he finally emerged. He was wearing his formal Senator robes, which looked out of place among all the green and sunshine.
“What?” Hanna asked innocently. “I’m only repeating what Master Luke said.”
“He didn’t say that. He—” Ben paused, seeming to think it over and coming to the same conclusion as Rey.
“He probably did,” she muttered, shaking her head. She turned to the twins. “Thala-sirens are harmless. Now, grab your bags and we’ll find Uncle Finn and Aunt Rose.”
After the opening ceremony and welcoming feast—which parents were encouraged to attend—they would travel to Naboo, the new seat for the Galactic Senate. Ben was a Senator, and they—along with the kids—often traveled between Takodana and Naboo, where they kept an apartment. Rey, having no desire for politics, ran her own mechanic shop right out of their home on Takodana. It was a castle, after all, and she preferred the smell of oil and rust to the cantina that Maz had established. Maz spent most of her time traveling the galaxy with Chewie. After the war, she had practically forced Ben into restoring the castle to it’s former glory.
“You destroyed it, least you can do is fix it,” she had said. But when they finished, more than a year later, Maz hadn’t moved back in. She only waived them off and said, “Take it, it’s yours. I have no need for it. But the statue stays.”
It didn’t take long to find their friends. Finn was crouched down before his daughter, triple checking her bags and sprouting more advice that Rey was sure Paige did not ask for.
“Stay away from the cliffs. Storms bring in strong currents. Don’t go near the nexus, you know it’s forbidden until seventh year. And don’t listen to Lando, the porgs aren’t venomous. But if they do bite you, just—” His gaze whipped up to Rose, who was watching it all in amusement. “Did you pack enough bandages? What if she—"
“It’s school, not the military, dad,” Paige grumbled.
“I just want you to be prepared,” Finn insisted, reaching out to pat her impossibly curly black hair.
“I think you’re prepared enough for all of us,” Rose teased. She waved when she spotted Rey, Ben, and the twins approaching. Finn followed her gaze; then he bounced up, grinning wide.
“Uncle Finn!” the twins chorused, running forward and half tackling him with a hug.
“Hey! Look at you two. Wow, how tall you’ve grown, Anakin. And Hanna, is that…a blaster?” He looked at Rey with mild alarm.
“Yeah! Want to see how good I am?”
“No, no,” Finn said quickly, throwing up his hands. “Let’s keep that holstered before…anyone…” He was glancing nervously around now. “…sees…a child with a blaster…”
Rey shook her head, a smile tugging at her mouth, and pulled him into a hug as the twins went to Rose and Paige.
“Giving the eleven-year-old a blaster now?” he muttered so only she could hear.
“They should know how to use them properly,” said Rey. Then she amended, “I caught the kids playing with them as toys and figured it was better to instruct properly. Don’t worry, she’s not allowed to keep it here.”
Finn’s body rumbled as he laughed. “It’s been too long.”
“It has,” she agreed, pulling back. “How’s Poe? I missed him at our last trip to Naboo.”
“Ah, the General is always busy.” Finn still gave his friend a hard time about the title, especially when he had to use it in public. His expression faltered slightly as he looked past Rey to Ben, who had approached with quiet stealth.
“Solo,” Finn greeted a little formally. It took him almost a year to break the habit of calling him Ren.
Ben inclined his head. “Soldier.”
Finn coughed and rubbed at the back of his neck. “Commander, actually.”
“I fail to notice the difference under Dameron’s command.”
Finn muttered something under his breath, but a reluctant grin tugged at his lips.
Rey and Rose exchanged a look, rolling their eyes. Despite the fact that Ben had worked with the Resistance to defeat Palpatine all those years ago, a bit of tension still remained between the two of them. Rey didn’t know if it would ever truly fade, but they were civil and on occasion, even friendly.
Rose on the other hand was more forgiving, and now she offered Ben a warm smile. “Good to see you, Ben.”
His lips parted slightly—not a smile, but a friendly enough gesture. His smiles were rare, reserved only for his family. “You as well,” he said.
“Mother, I want to find Grandpa Han” said Hanna, tugging on Rey’s arm, a slight whine to her voice.
“Me too,” Anakin chimed in.
“Can I go, too?” Paige asked Rose.
“We need to get you all settled first,” Rey said. “And we need to find your sister…”
Her voice trailed off as she searched for Leia. The girl was a curious thing, disappearing all over the castle when she was a child. She was probably looking for Han, too.
Rey wasn’t sure if it was because of the sacred grounds, or some other unexplained thread of fate, but the Force ghosts could manifest permanently on this island. They could manifest anywhere, if they wanted, but it was more difficult. Here, they were free.
Han refused to call himself a Master, and spent most of his time telling the students stories. But occasionally he would teach them about mechanics and piloting, insisting even Force wielders should learn the basics. Leia on the other hand did insist the students call her General or Master, to both Luke and Han’s amusement.
Rey felt a surge of relief when her eldest finally appeared, panting, as though she had just climbed the steep stairs to the monastery at the top of the island. Her brown hair was straight like Rey’s, her bangs messy and ribbon half undone, as though she had rolled out of bed and done very little to tame her hair. Which was usually the case. She looked sweaty and her ivory robes were already spotted with dirt and earth.
“Where have you been?” Rey demanded. “I told you not to wander off.”
“Everywhere,” Leia answered breathlessly. When she finally caught her breath, she straightened a bit, her eyes widening with some newfound enlightenment. “I’ll say this, though. I’m never drinking that green milk again.”
They all laughed, and Ben finally smiled.
- - -
Once the students were all settled into their lodgings, it was time to head to the Great Temple. Each new student would be called forward and tested, like they were when they first showed signs of being Force-sensitive. But this testing was necessary before entering secondary school here on Ahch-To, to reveal which side of the Force they leaned closer to, if either.
It was still a concept that was met with some reluctance. After Palpatine’s fall, more and more children and even teenagers seemed to become Force-sensitive. Old ties to both the Empire and the Republic, to the First Order and the Resistance, created a rift. This sense of division had been long engraved, a strong reason why peace could never be established for long.
When Rey and Ben had come together to defeat Palpatine and his army, they had done so by uniting factions of the First Order and the Resistance, by embracing the light and the dark side. By achieving balance.
Soon after, both Rey and Ben felt a call to Ahch-To. When they arrived, they found not just Luke, but other former Masters: the great Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Anakin Skywalker. Among them an idea bloomed, of restoring not the old Jedi Order, but a new order: the Order of the Force.
But it started with an academy, of training, when they became of age. On Ahch-To, Masters—both living and gone—taught light and dark histories and theories. Luke had been right, in a way. It was time for the way of the Jedi to die—not die entirely, but to change and grow.
The Force was the Force, the light and the dark and everything in between.
As they approached the temple, Leia scrambled inside to find her friends, Hanna trailing after her. But Anakin hesitated outside the entrance. Two girls and their parents moved past, trying not to stare. Rey was used to the staring, to the attention of being a war hero.
Frowning, she pulled her son aside, but before she could ask him what was the matter, he blurted, “What if I’m a darksider?”
Rey and Ben shared a glance. Their bond allowed them to communicate telepathically, but they didn’t need to in this moment. Ben crouched down, his huge frame nearly swallowing up Anakin.
“Leia was named after your grandmother,” he said quietly. “And Hanna, after your grandfather. But you…Anakin Ren Solo. You were named for two people. Both of which were powerful in the light side of the Force, and the dark side. They made some mistakes and bad choices, but even when they drifted too far into the dark side, they still found their way back to the light. They found their way home.” His eyes flicked up, meeting Rey’s, and her expression softened. “They are a testament that should you ever fall, no matter how far, you can still rise.”
“But what if—what if I’m neither?”
“Then you will be like me.”
Anakin’s eyes went wide. “What do you mean? No one is more powerful in the Force than you, Dad.” He winced and shot an apologetic look at Rey, whose brows had raised slightly. “Except you, Mom. And High Master Skywalker. Does he count?”
Rey laughed, and Ben smiled a bit. “For many years I was conflicted, torn between the light and the dark,” he said. “I had to learn to find the balance. And maybe someday you’ll learn the same.”
The children knew some of Ben’s past as Kylo Ren, as Rey and Ben knew they could not hide it. He had dedicated the past nineteen years to restoring the galaxy, but some would never forgive him for the role he played among the First Order. And they did not want to lie or bury the past by denying it. But the children knew even less of his involvement with the First Order and the tragic upbringing that tore him apart for so long. Someday, when they were older, he would tell them all of it.
Even with Ben’s admission, Anakin was still insistent. “But if I do lean to the dark side—”
“—then it only shows how passionate you are, Anakin,” Rey said gently, crouching down next to Ben. She reached out and brushed a strand of unruly black hair from Anakin’s eyes. When he made a face at her words, she added, “Passion comes from the heart. It’s part of what makes you human. And we will love and accept you no matter what side, if either, you lean toward.”
“Every student is different,” Ben added. “It’s only an evaluation to help the Masters find the best approach to their teachings. You, and only you, get to choose which path you walk. And you will never walk it alone, son. We promise you that.”
Anakin nodded, finally reassured. He took a deep breath and straightened, then marched into the temple with his chin high.
Rey and Ben stood, and caught Leia’s—Grandmother Leia’s—eye across the temple. She was the most regal of Force ghosts, elegant and noble, and her eyes shone with pride. Then she turned away, greeting a group of students who were demanding her attention.
“He’ll be all right,” Ben murmured, wrapping an arm around Rey.
She thought of Leia, Han, and Luke. She thought of Lando, of Obi-Wan, of Yoda. Of Finn and Rose and Paige. And she thought of herself and Ben, all looking after their family. They would never know the loneliness that Rey and Ben had. Never know what it felt like to be unloved or abandoned, to feel isolated and alone. They would never allow it.
“I know he will,” she said. “They all will.”
She glanced up, and when Ben felt her gaze, he looked down at her. His expression softened, as it only did for her and their children.
“Come on,” she said, “let’s go see what theatrical entrance Luke has in store this time.”
Ben groaned, but allowed her to tug him inside. “I refuse to applaud such dramatics.”
“Of course, you wouldn’t know anything about dramatics, Ben.” They found two empty seats in the back, next to a couple of Twi’lek’s that greeted them warmly.
His mouth twisted. “I would hardly call—”
“Shh, it’s about to begin,” she interrupted as the candles dimmed and the Force ghosts took their places at the front of the temple.
Ben sighed and took her hand in his own. Rey squeezed it, remembering the first time she had touched his hand across the stars on this very island. She felt him looking at her, and when she peered at him, she knew he was remembering the same thing.
So Rey smiled, and Ben smiled back.
All was well in the galaxy, and for the Solo’s, who finally had all they had been searching for.
Connection. Compassion. Family. Love. Acceptance. Belonging.
They would hang on, and never let it go.

Mercs with a girlfriend whos autistic and has body stims, and is insecure about it? Specifically rocking and chewing? Maybe include them catching her rocking while she was alone or seeing maybe one two many chewed up bottle caps or plastics in the trash? As you can tell im self indulgent and I like comfort
Ayy there ain’t nothing wrong with being self indulgent, self indulgence is why I created this blog. And hey, who doesn’t like comfort? Being comforted is like the 2nd best feeling in the world.
Scout- He doesn’t know why he looked. Something in his gut told him...but that doesn’t make any sense to him. Why would a gut feeling tell you to look in a trash bin and pick up a green bottle cap. It looked chewed to all hell. Teeth marks littered the small piece of plastic. Another one was pulled out at random. A yellow cap with the same marks. Rooting the trash revealed more and more chewed up caps. He wasn’t confused or upset. He was more...curious than anything. He decided that the best way to sate this curiosity was to talk to her directly. He tells her that he found the bottle caps and he of course panics when she looks just as panicked as him.
“No no i-it’s okay! I chew on my pencils sometimes! And-And I chew on my fingernails! Look look, see? You don’t have to feel b-bad...”
The bandages are peeled off his hands to reveal red nail bitten fingers. He tries to joke that at least chewing on caps doesn’t lead to an infection...he hopes anyway. He doesn’t want you to feel ashamed about the way she is. If he mocked her for chewing on plastic, he might as well wear a sign that says “BIG FREAKING HYPOCRITE”. He always makes sure to remind her she has nothing to hide from him.
Soldier- He’s caught her a couple of times. He’s seen her rocking in their bedroom and sometimes the rec room. She always seemed to do it alone though. Soldier was never known for his wits or intelligence. No, this man is famous in the team for jumping to conclusions. Once he saw you rock again, he thought back to his time with Merasmus. The wizard sometimes rocked in a similar manner...was his girlfriend a wizard too? Was this some sort of summoning ritual? But what would she be summoning? Aha! A warm blooded American like her (he thinks this even if she’s not American) must be summoning the spirit of George Washington! The next time he catches sight of her rocking, he busts right in and take a seat next to her. Not noticing the panicked look on your face, he copies your rocking movement. She asks him what he’s doing. He, of course, tells her that he’s helping her summon the ghost of George Washington. She then has to explain to him what stimming is.
“Oh. This is...stimming. Can we still try to summon George Washington?”
She tells him that they can try and he is beyond excited to see George again. Her rocking doesn’t bother him, it never bothered him to begin with. To him, it’s just something she does. Nothing to feel bad about. Though he promises to beat the crap out of this “Insecurity” she keeps talking about. She has nothing to worry about when around her Soldier (though she still worries he somehow summoned Washington without her knowing).
Pyro- At first, they didn’t think much of it. So she liked to chew on bottle caps, that wasn’t a big deal at all. They remember all sorts of weird things they used to chew on as a kid. Rubber, hair, plastic, nails, etc. You name it, they chewed on it. They’re about to move past it when they realize something else. All that chewing eventually lead them to chewing on more meaty parts of their body, like their arms and hands. What if...what if she was doing that too? The thought of their girlfriend harming herself brought tears to their eyes. His girlfriend was in for quite a shock when Pyro burst through their door, sobbing loudly behind their mask. They gesture for her to hold her arms out and she obliges. They check her arms and let out an audible sigh of relief when her arms looked to be bite free. His girlfriend asks him what all this was about. Pyro pulled out one of her chewed up caps, though they quickly put it away when they saw the look of shame and embarrassment. They explained (or mumbled rather) that they used to do the same thing, so they understand why she would feel embarrassed and insecure. Pyro reassures her as long as she’s not hurting herself, she’s perfectly fine. They even collect clean bottle caps and give it to her as a little gift.
Demo- He sees her doing it. It’s stimming, right? He sure hope it is, he remembers some of the kids from his orphanage were autistic too. He was even friends with a few of them. They used to do the same thing, rocking and such. He used to laugh about it, it was a little funny to watch honestly, but he quickly realized his mistake when they made an even bigger effort to hide from him. He admits he could be a shitty little kid sometimes. So it’s not surprising that he feels like that guilty little kid again. Why does she feel insecure about it? Did somebody say something? He just sighs and takes a sip of scrumpy. He can’t have his fav lass feeling so down around him or anyone. So he walks into the room, right when she was in the middle of rocking, and takes a seat next to her. He sighs and slowly grabs her hand, squeezing gently
“Aye lass...ya know I love ya, right? Nothing ya do is ever gonna change that.”
He’s not going to make her stop. It helps her with her emotions, right? So why make her stop doing something that’s beneficial to her? Plus, just like when he was a kid, it’s going to make him chuckle sometimes. He’s obviously not going to say it aloud but it’s funny to watch. But also calming in a way. Just watching you rock puts him in a state of tranquility.
Heavy- He keeps finding soda caps in the trash. They always appear to be chewed on? He’s confused to say the least. Is somebody so hungry that they resort to eating plastic? Why though...there’s plenty of food on the base. He considers leaving out sandviches for this mysterious chewing person. He’ll do that later. Maybe his girlfriend might know something. He presents her with a few chewed up caps and asks her if she knows something. The look on her face simultaneously breaks his heart and strikes fear in it. Oh no he made a mistake, here here, just take $7000, go shopping, please don’t be sad. He’s gonna go to Medic and ask him about it. He’s gonna feel like a big insensitive idiot when the doctor explains to him that she’s simply stimming. Oh, that makes sense. He’s gonna bashfully approach her and apologize for making her feel a certain way.
“Am sorry for embarrassing you. Heavy did not understand. This...stimming...is fine. You are fine.”
He wish he could say more but his English is still in need of work. He just wants you to be comfortable and happy. If that means chewing on bottle caps, go right ahead. Heavy does not judge. He may even give her some bottle caps if she wants some. Anything for his beloved.
Engineer- Dad mode activated. Is she okay? Is something wrong? Seeing her rocking alone is immediately gonna worry him. He has a vague idea of stimming and autism since a few of his classmates and cousins were autistic. Though he only really saw them do it when they were overwhelmed and that worried him. She’s overwhelmed, isn’t she? Well that won’t do at all. Cue the montage. This man is gonna do everything in his power to make you comfortable. Dim the lights, quietly berate the team for making too much noise, make the team dinners into something you like all the time. Engie is nice and all but everyone (gf) can see something is bothering him. His gf is probably gonna have to confront him. He’s gonna look embarrassed and try to make it seem like something isn’t wrong. But, being the honest good boi he is, he’s gonna crack and admit the truth.
“I see you rocking sometimes. I know you’re different and all but are you okay? I just want you to feel at home in the base here, honey bee.
That’s when she’s gonna have to explain to him how stimming works. Yes, she does it do because she’s overwhelmed, but she also does it when she’s feeling a strong emotion. It’s calming for her. Engie is gonna be both relieved and happy when he hears that it’s a calming mechanism for her. But he’s gonna be worried again when she admits that she’s insecure about it. Insecure? Why should she feel bad about something that makes her feel better? Either way, he doesn’t want his love to feel bad anyway. So she’s gonna have to deal with his constant reminders that he loves her and his constant feats to make her comfortable in the presences of the public and himself.
Medic- Oh, she’s stimming. He isn’t surprised considering she’s autistic. He already kinda knew she was autistic after the first few days of knowing her. He is a doctor, after all. A crazed one but not a dumb one. So he’s okay with her chewing. But he’s really not okay with her chewing on bottle caps of all things! Gott, doesn’t she know how dirty these cheap factory made caps are?! Think of all the germs!! Their wearing down her precious teeth!!! Ahem, as a semi professional doctor, he doesn’t scream these complaints at her. Rather, he tells her out of nowhere while he’s working that he knows about her cap chewing.
“Those caps of yours carry so many germs, mäuschen, you don’t vant a dirty mouth, do you? Not to mention that they wear down you’re lovely teeth.”
He says it so calmly and offhandedly that it’s easy to assume that he doesn’t care that much or he’s insulting you. Quite the contrary, he cares very much about matters that concern your health. He doesn’t mean to sound mean. Plus, he does show he cares when he gets you a couple of chewy toys or items, ones that won’t wear down your teeth. Wait you’re insecure about your stimming? Now you’re just being irrational. It’s completely natural for someone like her. How can he shame you for stimming, he would have to admit he has failed as a doctor and boyfriend if he did such a thing. He encourages you to stim with the items he bought you.
Sniper- Growing up in the middle of nowhere with two parents and spending most of his life in near isolation, he’s not gonna know much about autism. Least of all what stimming is. So he’s not gonna judge her for her behavior or mannerisms. That’s just how some people are, can’t really do much when it comes to how people’s minds work. He’s caught her rocking sometimes. Though he only sees her doing when she thought he was asleep or in the other room. Ah, he figures that it’s something she likes to do in her private time. Perfectly understandable. So he just pretends he doesn’t see anything and just moves on with life. Though there comes the day when he accidentally walks in on her rocking. They both freeze and just stare at each other. The look on her face reminds her of his own face when’s been caught pissing in jars or baby talking a cute stray. Shame and embarrassment. He closes the door and just isolates himself. He embarrassed her. He loathes embarrassment and he just hates himself for just making her feel that way. After returning from his self banishment, he’s gonna immediately apologize.
“Mmm sorry...didn’t mean to barge in on your personal space, roo. Wasn’t thinking straight...”
Whether or not she tell him what stimming is, he’s gonna respect her privacy. He’ll leave the room if she starts stimming or stay out if she is stimming. It’ll always be “her” private activity so he’s not gonna invade her privacy. He’ll gladly stay if she says it’s okay for him to stay with her. He knows that she’s insecure about it and he understands completely, he’s one of the most insecure people on the team. To combat her insecurity, he’ll chase everyone out of the room if she needs to stim or remind her that you just do you.
Spy- He’s not gonna actively root through some trash Scout but he does notice some chewed up caps. He’ll raise an eyebrow. Well, sees like someone on the team has a bit of a chewing problem. He’s willing to bet that it’s either Scout or Pyro. Being the nosy bitch he is, he’s gonna pay extra close attention to his team. His girlfriend isn’t safe from his snooping either. He quickly learns it’s her when he’s cloaked and he catches her chewing on some bottle caps in the (supposed) privacy of her room. He watches her for a bit before slinking out the room. He doesn’t tell. Of course he doesn’t. But he does want to talk to her. He’s just not sure what to say. He’s not bothered by her chewing, it’s just another special little quirk of hers. He’s mostly worried that confronting her about it will lead to her getting emotional and he’s just not ready to handle that. But he sometimes say things that hints that he knows about her stimming.“Mon amour, do you want me to buy you something from the grocery store? Some water bottles, perhaps? Or some sweets, maybe?”She shouldn’t be too surprised when she sees that some brand new chewy items have been left in her room. If she doesn’t use the items as left, then she’s gonna find a stack of bottle caps. The caps look and smell cleaned? It’s obvious who's leaving these gifts around. To help with her insecurity, she’s gonna be receiving a lot more soft kisses that seem to last longer than usual. Still insecure? He must buy more of what she wants and needs.
Miss Pauling- She’s rarely home long enough to catch her stimming. She usually comes in, gives her a quick kiss, drinks some coffee, and is out to work again. So her girlfriend can stim all she wants in the safety and privacy of her home. Pauling is well aware of stimming so she already knows her girlfriend stims. But she does find it a little odd that she never sees her stimming in front of her. But she doesn’t dwell on that thought too long since she needs to focus on the work at hand. She only catches her gf in the act when she finally gets her yearly day off. She stumbles into the house in the dead of night, ready to crash and enjoy the day sleeping and cuddling her girl. She walks into the room and sees her rocking. At any other time, she would sit and talk with her. But now? She was already half asleep and didn’t fully comprehend the gravity of the situation or how embarrassed her girlfriend looked. She just sleepily mumbled.“Sorry babe, did I interrupt...I’m so tired. Come lay with me please...I wanna lay in those soft arms forever...”She’s gonna hit the bed and pass right out, whether or not she was in her girlfriend’s arms. She only realizes everything in the morning. She’s kinda embarrassed about how she acted. But at least she got to see you stim! But she looked embarrassed...was that why she did it alone. Then she feels shitty for interrupting. She doesn’t feel the need to talk with her about it. She just lays with her on the couch all day and watches whatever she likes. She’s a lot more affectionate with her that, but only if her girlfriend is okay with it. When she’s busy at work, she’ll make sure to leave little cheesy love notes everywhere. And her short breaks are spent in her girlfriend’s arms. She loves her for who she is.

I know I said I’d do this I think yesterday but it just did not happen
SO I’m super excited because my @stimtastic order is here, and I’ve had a couple of days to use my new (and first, both buying stim toys, specifically for stimming at least, and my first time buying from stimtastic) toys. first I have to say, stimtastic is a fantastic company, they have great items, they’re quite reasonably priced, and my order arrived very quickly. I am forever grateful 💕
Now onto the toys! From left to right:
1. Chewable Blossom Pendant Necklace in Peach, $4.50 - this was the toy I was most excited about, and it turns out my excitement was appropriate; I can’t keep this thing out of my mouth. it’s perfect for just wearing around the house to chew while doing mundane things like cleaning, and also to de-stress after an overwhelming day. it keeps my mouth busy so I’m not biting on myself. I had trouble with it messing with my gag reflex at first for some reason (even though it was nowhere beyond my front teeth) but it’s perfectly fine now. one of the main reasons I bought it was for hands-free stimming while driving, especially in stressful situations such as road work, unfamiliar places, long drives, and highways. I got the chance to test it in that environment while driving around Reno and on the Reno freeway, including the spaghetti bowl, and I’m happy to report it works quite well for that purpose. I also would like to take it with me to classes next fall, but I am admittedly self conscious about this particular stim in public, so we’ll see how it goes and how other people react at that time. even if I don’t wear it in class, it’ll be great for driving on the highway to get to the campus.
2. Silicone Brush in Bright Pink, $1.75 - I. Love. This. Toy. like seriously, I never want it out of my hands. I always like feeling silicone pads/brushes in stores, but I wasn’t aware I would love it this much. I also love the noise that running my fingers over the bristles makes. I use it all the time at home, just laying around the house or to help come down from sensory-intense or overwhelming experience. I had initially been planning on using this in classes next semester, but for one, it’s a bit bigger than I anticipated, and also, I’m afraid the noise it makes might be too distracting for others. chilling between classes though? hell yeah!
3. Silicone Straw in Pink, $1.25 - I do just wanna start this off by saying I haven’t used this much yet. that said, as someone who loves chewing on straws, I have tested it’s chewing capabilities and this straw is like... straw-chewing heaven. it is on the short side, though, so be warned, it probably will be too short to use in most cups from fast food places/other outside eateries and things like reusable water bottles (in 16oz disposable bottles, it’s just the right length to keep in the bottle with the lid on, tho!) it’s fine in most drinking glasses and mugs. I love the carrying case and travel cleaning brush as well- it even has a little loop that you could use to attach to a bag strap or keychain or something. it also at the very least makes me feel better about my plastic output, even if in all reality it has next to no environmental effect, I like trying to help the planet, and if you aren’t inhibited in not wanting to use/being unable to use for any reason (and any reason is valid! my goal here is NOT to shame people who use plastic straws, especially since I often use them myself), this is a low-price but high quality (and chewy!) option for switching to reusable straws.
4. Pearlescent Glitter Water Wiggler in Pink, $2.00 - first of all, I just want to say I love that the name sort of rhymes. moreover, I was actually surprised by how much I ended up liking this toy. obviously I thought I would like it before buying, given that I did, in fact, buy, but it was even better than I thought it would be. my favorite way to stim with this toy is visually, by either shaking it or turning it over. the glittery swirls are super pretty and very calming- it’s the perfect way to relax or come down after a long day or stressful event. it is, however, also good for squishing (careful though, it’s liable to slip out of your hands lol) and I guess you could call it pressure stimming kind of? like tilting it side to side and feeling the weight shift. I absolutely recommend trying that. (just a quick note, according to stimtastic’s website, this product is only available until the Fall, so if you want one, get it now!)
5. Stretchy Squishy Paw Print, $1.00 - just a quick heads up before I give my review type thing, this toy is definitely on the sticky side, and is even almost, like, gooey, so if that’s not a good texture for you, I don’t really recommend it. for me, however, it’s fine, because I don’t mind that texture. it’s very very squishy, so one of the things I like to do is squish it in my fist. it also obviously has the pads texture of the paw print, but also a smooth side if you like the smoothness. I like running my thumb over the textures parts of the paw as I squish it. it’s also definitely stretchy, but I’m paranoid about stretching it too far and breaking it lmao so I don’t stretch it that much. it is on the small side, probably about an inch, inch and a half across on all sides, which for me is a plus, because it makes it very easy to take places and just have it in my hand, and also is good for more discreet stimming if you want/need that. it will definitely be going to classes with me. it’s also of course very cute.
6. Mermaid Sequin Stim Toy Bag in Pink/Silver, $3.00 - okay, I’ll be the first to admit, I’m OBSESSED with mermaid/reversible sequins (hello all the people in stores looking at me weirdly for standing and petting whatever has them on it), so when I saw this bag while looking for a bag to keep my stim toys in on-the-go, I was in love. the feeling of running my hands over and flipping the sequins, the noise of that and also just running my fingers one way over the sequins, and watching the light refract off of the sequins when tilting the bag is just perfection. it’s not huge, but I did manage to get all of the objects shown here inside with the zipper all the way closed. the zipper also goes around two of the sides, so you can just unzip the short side to put something smaller in, or you can unzip it all the way around the short and long side to put something larger (like the silicone brush in my case) in with ease.
All in all, a very pleasing purchase, and I will definitely be buying again (next on my list is the plush unicorn squishy in pink, the owl chewy in pink, and the infinite rings fidget in rose, but those will have to wait until after I pay for my summer class lol). I also told my mom, who is a special ed teacher, about them, and she’s thinking about buying her students some stim toys from them for next year.

A VOLUNTEER WRITES:Are you ready to beam up the silliest, friendliest, most playful pet at the Care Center? Then allow me to introduce myself, I am Spock and if you're a person (or dog) who loves rough'n'tumble play and tossing toys around then the only logical thing to do is take me home. I'm just as friendly as I look and twice as fun and my favorite things in the world (so far) are chewy toys and treats. Ask nicely and I'll even sit and wait for you to give them to me. We should take a toy on our walk as well, just in case a munchy mood strikes while we're outside--I wouldn't want to have to use the leash! Playgroup is my zoomie time and I play pretty hard so I'm hoping any four-legged members of my new family crew enjoys running and jumping as much as I do. Anyway, enough about me, let's talk about you and how much more fun your life would be with a little Spock in it. Everyone deserves a best friend and I could be yours! Welcome me home and we'll live long and prosper together, I promise. However, he is a young, enthusiastic, social dog who will need daily mental and physical activity to keep him engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in additional to physical exercise, to positively direct his energy and enthusiasm. BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION: EXPERIENCE (suitable for an adopter with some previous dog experience, especially with the behaviors outlined below) Recommendations: No young children (under 5) Recommendations comments: No young children: Due to the mouthing and high level of leash biting seen at the care center, we recommend a home without young children. Potential challenges: Mouthiness/poor bite inhibition Leash-biting Potential challenges comments: Mouthiness/poor bite inhibition: Spock has shown some mouthiness in the care center. Little pressure is applied, but this is a behavior that should be extinguished through training alternate behaviors and lack of reward (ex. walking away whenever Spock's teeth make contact with skin). Leash-biting: Spock is quick to grab the leash in his mouth. We recommend walking him with a toy to dissuade him from grabbing the leash. Positive reinforcement, force-free training is advised to teach him to focus on you rather than grabbing the leash. TLJ Review Part Three: Reylo
Well, my Reylos and other Star Wars people-I-amuse-in-some-way, taking my sweet time just like the holidays, I guess it might be a good idea to finish my TLJ review before the Blu-ray/DVD release tomorrow…hmm? (I still want a VHS copy.)
Been busy getting born Bob Dylan-style. And not feeling particularly Star Warsy (as a sensitive person I can feel negativity and Kylo-style I just wanna let it all die.)
And, also, I was waiting on the TLJ Novelization, which IMO was vague and silly.
(I knew it wasn’t going to be Nights In White Reylo Satin…
youtube
But I didn’t know Kylo was Napoleon Dynamite who catches lightsaber pies,
Rose is Jane Brady, jealous of Marcia “Rey,” who kisses ex-stormtroopers just to try it like the Katy Perry song,
and Leia really, really believes Luke could have a Jedi ship army…cause now this strong heroine “needs” rescuing after all this time.)
BUT let’s go back to the movie. Let’s time-travel all the way back to December 14th, 2017:
when I had emotionally prepared myself for nothing Reylo to happen. Great Expectations leads to suffering in the butchered words of Yoda.
I felt very minimalist about it. I told myself I’d be happy if Rey and Ren (cause I didn’t know calling him Kylo was a thing, no one called him just “Kylo” in TFA) had more scenes together. I’d be happy if, perhaps, they had another good fight. Or, if Kylo Ren gave Rey a good, bad puppy stare. That was the least I wanted. I was prepared to go home happy with just that in my Star Wars basket.
Rey and Ren would have to be friends, I thought. I told myself, if Reylo is ever going to happen, they have to momentarily be on the same side, or with the same goal.
However, I reasoned, throwing out every Reylo theory, that most people wanted a showdown involving Luke, Rey, and Kylo. So, I figured to keep the movie good and tense, they’d delay Rey and Kylo being in the same scene until the black moment. I thought, I’d be biting my nails and about to vomit wondering if Luke was still Rey’s dad, while Kylo pouted about not being Rey’s teacher and possibly offered her another opportunity to be schooled while explaining the connection between them…
I told myself I enjoyed being this hyper-character-form-of-myself TheBigReyloTheory, and toy photography, and fanfics, and meeting and sharing with other fans, while it lasted. For me, it was more about a distraction and having fun, looking through a glass darkly, than being absolutely right. Which is starting to sound like Joseph Campbell’s “The Fan’s Journey”*, not to be confused by “The Fan With A Thousand Faces”* (*not real books…I think).
But, the moment Luke tossed the lightsaber away, I had a strong hunch: something Reylo-y will happen.
I knew if Luke wouldn’t willingly teach and tell Rey everything she wanted to hear, there’d be something she’d seek from Kylo Ren. However, there again, I didn’t think this something would materialize until the worst possible moment.
Then suddenly, in the words of the Star-Wars-bubba randomly seated next to me, who was dipping into his TLJ collectible cup, “Something weird happened.”
Weird, indeed, bubba.
Kylo Ren and Rey sharing some sort of Force power? A connection across the stars?
REYLO HAPPENED.
They went from “Hiss boo!” (You’re-a-monster-yes-i-am. Perfect exchange, btw.)
To Rey letting Kylo measure her for a pair of gloves. Her hands were probably cold in the cave. And you see, Kylo has a member-discount at Gloves R Us. (Hand touch scene: OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG, btw.)
How quickly this friendly-ship developed shocked me. In a good way. I really didn’t expect we’d be getting a “willing” touch, a will-they-won’t-they-kiss moment, or a proposal.
I was on a rollercoaster of emotions.
As a romance reader, anytime the heroine sees the guy shirtless, even in a sweet/clean romance, it usually means there’s gonna be more between them. Even though I totally hope Kylo becomes more self-confident and losses the sauna belt.
No, Rey, he doesn’t have a cowl to put on. That would take the whole ForceTime session. Have you ever looked up the 501 Kylo Ren Costume Reference?? The man wears a TON of clothes before you even get to cowl! (Is he afraid he’s going to get sucked out into space, like Leia, and freeze?)(I missed out of the whole Reylo sex scene debate, but I gotta say, it would have to be Rey doing a bodice ripper on Kylo to get through all those layers, and that’s all I’m gonna say).
The infinite scene in the Force cave was certainly freaky upon first viewing. It gave off an eerie, rhythmic, dance vibe. There was a strange second were I couldn’t figure out why Star Wars was suddenly being narrated. I was panicking there’d been a huge time jump. And then I also was panicking that the people in The Mirror of Erised were going to be Han and Leia, and I’d have to hurl. I knew this was Reylo or bust.
Never, never, never guessed Rey would be mailing herself to Kylo. Or that Chewie would be helping her accomplish this task. Wonder how many Porg stamps that took? Yeah, yeah stormtroopers cuff her. But notice how they’re alone in the elevator? (And I’m burning the Naan bread trying to find the scene online…I hope that’s not a euphemism.)
When Rey says she’ll help him…Just, wow. I’m on the edge of my seat. It’s almost like she’s saying she’ll be his “help” mate. After seeing the movie three or four times, it was fun to watch the people in front of me lean on the edge of their seat, too. Rey truly goes after what she wants!
I’ll be honest, I thought we might have been getting a lead-up to a Kenobi lineage or Snoke-relation when Kylo says he knows who her parents are…the line in the elevator just felt so heavy especially approaching a “royal” throne room. Almost like he’s going to tell Snoke.
But I’m not disappointed in Rey’s backstory. I was pretty much cool with any Rey parentage (other than Luke or Han and Leia), so long as some more Reylo could happen.
And, once Snoke made it, kill-the-girl or else, I knew this was it. This was a turning point. I still can’t believe it happened the way it did. It’s probably one of my top movie suspense moments ever. OMG. What is he going to do? OMG. Will that work? OMG. It did!
Victory, plain and simple!
For a moment, everything is right and “going” the “way” I wanted it to go. It was an epic, courageous feeling! A thrill!
And I didn’t think they could top the Starkiller Base fight, hahaha...
Then, of course, the pendulum has to swing the other way.
And, I’m going to do a pure speculation post, so I’m just going to say: most heartbreakingly, interesting proposal ever.
And custody battles over lightsabers are tough.
But, yeah, Reylo happened. And I’m content.

How to stop your puppy mouthing. This can lead to a serious problem when not stopped at an early age from your dog.
When does a Puppy start mouthing? What is mouthing?
Mouthing is when a dog routinely grabs people using their mouth without causing an injury. That happens mainly during play, exercise or whenever they are excited. For puppies under 5 month of age, it is still ok as a puppy explores things with there mouth. But if the dog is older like 8 months or older than it becomes later on a serious problem. Older dogs when they play they should have learned the rules, even when they are overexcited. Older dogs should not play-bite anymore. The best way to train a puppy stop mouthing is through dog training from an early age on.
Nipping, Biting and Mouthing Have you ever been nipped by a young dog or a puppy? It might be your own dog or the dog of a friend. If so you know that it feels like a knife or an ice pick, in short, it hurts. It becomes hard to stop dog nipping and dog biting when you have an adult dog. ( most puppies who have not been trained from a young age on will nip and bite as an adult dog) If your Dog is nibbling or biting other people in the butt when getting up, it is not a nice feeling for the person being nipped. You also feel embarrassed, and all you can say is sorry and you hope your friend is still a friend and understands it even with a bruised butt. You feel pretty bad, and over time people avoid coming to your home. The best way to train a puppy stop mouthing is with passion and love. A dog should never make you feel uncomfortable when you are around your friends and neighbours. You are in charge, not your dog. Socializing a dog from a young age on is essential. Every young puppy needs dog training from an early age. Dog Training should be done either from a certified trainer or from yourself. Letting a puppy grow up without proper training is irresponsible and it is an invitation to problems with an adult dog.
Educate yourself about the Breed of the dog you are getting. Does it suit you and the environment you live in?
Depending on the breed of the dog the nipping can be quite painful, and it is definitely not fun being nipped in the bud, hand or fingers from any dog. Puppies do instinctively nip and bite when playing alongside their siblings. That is a way of communicating with the siblings and the environment around them. If uncontrolled by his less close family and “pack” members, a young dog would, in a second, be taught by his mother and siblings to manage his chewing. It has less impact on their skin and fur. Unfortunately, for us humans, we aren't so lucky, yes, it hurts when a puppy, young dog or an adult dog is nipping or is biting you, and it can definitely pierce some of your skin. The majority of puppies are separated from their mothers and family prior to the time when they've had an opportunity to take this skill on board and understanding it remains “unlearned”. Get some information on the puppy or dog you want to bring into your home. Things that are important to know. Educate yourself on the breed of the dog. Puppyhood Socializing my puppy how vital is it! How to train my puppy to stop nipping and biting
Why do puppies bite and nip? You can be sure that every adult dog who mouth people has never been trained or learned from the pet owner during their puppy and young adulthood that nipping and biting are not acceptable. They probably never learned how to be gentle and to chew toys instead. You might appreciate that your dog is not gnawing on or chewing your leg, hand or finger maliciously. Chewing, gumming and mouthing are ordinary activities for puppies and young adolescent dogs. It is normal, and if they had stayed long enough with their siblings and mother, they would be taught this in their early puppyhood. It remains unlearned. Many pet parents don't enjoy a dog that bites, chews and mouth their clothing, limbs or hands during play and interaction.
So, what to do?
First, you need to let your puppy have fun and let it mix with a group of other dogs. Note that it is an important step to let your puppy mix from an early age on with other dogs. Don’t make a mistake and let him grow up isolated and protected, you don't do your puppy favour. It might not be visible when he is younger, but when your puppy grows into adulthood, it becomes a behaviour problem. Puppies are as active they jump, they run like crazy they fall and they need to have fun. Here comes the learning part of your little fur ball of fun, when it becomes a bit too boisterous when he is together with other dogs, the pack members speak to the other dogs and will immediately address his improper and unnecessary behaviour. As necessary as it goes, this socialisation along with different dogs is the most straightforward hands on the way for your puppy to discover and manage his temptation to nip or to the bit.
Socializing is an important tool for your puppy to learn.
Socializing has additional benefits that allow your pup to socialise in a way where he discovers not to be nervous or develop any fear of strange dogs. He will get rid of his surplus energy and vitality. You will have a calmer puppy and young dog when he grows up. It makes him more peaceful when amongst other members of the household. It is proven that when puppies do not socialise with other dogs, they will be overactive, wild and destructive in demonstrating a range of different and difficult behavioural patterns. ( they can't get rid of their energy it is essential and necessary that a puppy can release its energy) Dogs without any canine social skills generally tend to react unnecessarily nervous and aggressive to new situations. Socializing with other people and smaller kids Socializing also means to other people. It is essential to introduce a young dog to other dogs, but it is also important to let him socialise with other people. (Particular if you have younger members of your household ) It is important for a puppy being around younger children is also essential for growing up, and it helps the development of puppy adulthood. Younger children are closer to weight and size to a dog, it possesses that selfsame puppy-like vitality what can be interpreted as the belligerent in a puppy.
How to train my puppy to stop nipping and biting.
1. When your puppy is relatively youthful ( less than 4 months) this is a sensitive period for your puppy to continue interacting with the family in an appropriate way, where both neither your young ones or the puppy becomes overly excited. Depend on your puppies breed that can be a significant aspect to look out for. ( quarrelsome dogs) 2. Another way to train your puppy or young dog to stop nipping and biting is elicit its confidence and esteem. It involves subsequent training and becomes more natural when the efforts of your training become permanently notable. It will help you in the long run as you are able to strive and manage, then rectify difficult or unmanageable behaviour.
How can you garner your puppy esteem?
3. You have to treat your puppy with the same level of respect and consideration that you expect from your puppy. "This is important. " Whenever you play or train your puppy, please try to handle it with consideration. What that means is no hitting, no slapping, no screaming even in situations where you feel like losing your passion. The key to successful training is calm energy. Your dog will sense how you feel and will act accordingly. 4.In a situation where you deal with severe improper behaviour stay cool and calm if you want your puppy to learn the things that make your life and his life easier and more comfortable. 5. Physical discipline and or abuse will ruin the confidence and admiration of your puppy. You will make your puppy scared and frighten and he will act nervously when you are around. You will only achieve the opposite. Your training will counteract with your effort what you are trying to achieve. It will not stop your puppy from nipping and biting. In all likelihood, it will do nothing more than flummox him.
6. Giving treats and an abundance of compliments together with the positive support you will be able to train your puppy infinitely more quickly, faster and far more efficiently. Your puppy will learn and understand that it can have fun without nipping and biting. Your puppy will learn to play with you in a gentle way. 7. Use chewy toys and give your puppy the toys instead of your toes or fingers. Have plenty of them at home. You will need them. Chewy toys are the same important for a puppy as they are for a baby when teething. A puppy discovers during growing up time a lot of things, and if you do not want your favourite things chewed or bitten through and through give your puppy alternatives to chew. An old shoe of yours is a good idea to give him for chewing and destroying the best with laces. I remember my dogs chewed all the old shoes I wanted to throw, and I have to say it kept them quite busy. It helped them when they started to nip and bite as an alternative. As the old shoes been there favourite chew toys. They still are. A Young dogs that bites and nips will mature into a grown dog that will continue to nip and bite unless you instruct it otherwise. It is not fun having a dog who bites and nips. Playing with the dog is then not fun. As he will have the control and he will sense your fear of being bitten or nipped. Over time this antagonistic and aggressive behavioural pattern can and will definitely become worse and less manageable. Eliminating the nipping and biting in a puppy from an early age on is really important. Interacting with your dog should be a joy for both of you. I have a Rottweiler dog her name is Bonnie and she is such a gentle dog. I am very proud of her. We trained her since she was a young dog as we got him from a friend when Bonny was 8 months old. ( She had a nipping habit when she first came to us) There are professional dog trainers around look in your local newspaper or search the internet for professional trainers with CPDT certification if you are not able to train your puppy for whatever reason. The best way to train a puppy stop mouthing is from a young age on. Puppy training is fun and it forms a bond between you and your puppy. Remember what you miss now will reflect in your puppy growing up. Training and socialising is an essential part of the life of a dog growing up. Do you have experience with a dog mouthing or nipping? How did you solve it please advise us here with your solutions? Did you do the dog training yourself share your tips with us Thank you for stopping by. All yours Melanie

Please welcome our fabulous new mods CD, Rainbow and Luna, who’ll be helping out with posts, describing, tagging, finding awesome things, all despite the difficulties of working with Tumblr! They’ve already in a day gotten more posts described and tagged than I could ever on my own, and you’ll be seeing their work around here as of tomorrow!

I’m 18, American, gray aroace, nonbinary, and autistic. I’m currently in college. I like video games [mostly The Sims 4, Minecraft, and Pokemon, but other things take up my time sometimes] and reading, when I remember to buy books to read.
Preferred Stims: Fidgets and chews, though I don’t have near as many chewables as I do fidget toys. I’ve also really started liking textured things lately.
Least-Preferred Stims: Chewables that are really hard to chew with back teeth.
Favorite Stim Toys: Currently, it’s the Tangle Jr Fuzzy, dulcimer pendant necklace, and these little silicon scrubbers.

Preferred Stims: My hands are always moving and I touch everything. My most used stim toys are the kind that sit on my desk or in my bag and end up in my hand without my having thought about it.

The 10 Best Indestructible Squeaky Dog Toys for Chewers
https://www.centralparkpaws.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Ginger-2-225x300.jpg
It has been many years since I last had to think about toys for aggressive chewers.
Calvin is older now and doesn’t destroy toys like he once did. But now, with a new puppy in the house, it’s like living with a tornado of destruction.
Though she is just shy of 5 months old, she is teething, and as a result, she is continually chewing, and the majority of the toys we now have were not purchased with an aggressive chewer in mind.
So I needed to jump online and see what I could find.
Though we have a lot of teething toys that can be filled with soft food and put in the freezer, I had been hoping to find other fun toys for her to play with, since after awhile the same few toys tend to get boring.
I started looking for toys with a squeaker that could withstand her attention and the playstyle of the other dogs.
It’s funny how a new puppy will get older dogs playing with toys again.
Why Buy Indestructible Squeaky Toys?
There are a few reasons I want super durable toys and why you may want them, too.
First, Mirabelle still hasn’t learned everything she encounters should not be eaten, so my number one concern is safety[1].
Second, I don’t want to have to keep replacing toys. The reality is, it gets pretty darn expensive buying new toys every week.
Finally, I feel like I am constantly cleaning with four dogs, so adding shredded toys to my cleaning list isn’t something I am looking to do.
Though Mirabelle is still on the small side now, we expect that she will be at least forty pounds full grown, meaning her bite power and teeth will only increase.
Plus, puppies can teethe for quite some time, so I expect we will be dealing with this issue for another month.
And even after she grows out of the chewing on everything phase, I imagine she will still want to play with or chew on toys.
What I found during my research was pretty much what I expected, there are a lot of durable toys, but there’s always a dog out there that manages to get a corner or piece off even the toughest of toys.
When Daisy was a puppy, she chewed a KONG apart, so I know it can happen. The good news is that there are several different choices and functions.
Also, giving your dog appropriate chew toys can cut off more destructive behavior[2]!
Does your dog chew on their bed, too? Check out our list of the best indestructible dog beds!

Tuffy toys are made with four layers of durable material.
The edges of the toy are reinforced protective webbing and then held in place with seven rows of stitching.
Plus, there isn’t any stuffing. What gives these toys its mildly squishy feel are the multiple layers of fabric.
And the squeakers have extra protection since they are tucked into a safety pocket.
We have the Tug O War one, and Ginger loves it. Plus, it is tough enough to stand up to Calvin’s chewing.
I didn’t rate the tug toy as the best since it is pretty big, and would not be the right choice for smaller dogs.
What I Liked
Available in multiple sizes and styles
No fill
Floats, making it a great water toy
What I Didn’t Like
The scalloped edges make it easier for dogs to chew on and possibly wear the material down.

Best Value for the Money
Gnawsome Medium Squeaker Ball
Click the image for more info
Why It’s the Best Choice
The Gnawsome squeaker ball has soft spikes to massage your dog’s gums and makes it easier for dogs to grab.
The ball is made from food-grade, BPA-free, thermo-plasticized rubber.
The squeaker is hidden inside, making it more challenging for your dog to work at getting it out.
And though the ball is very durable, it does float. Plus, since its lightweight and comes in bright colors, it’s one of the few toys that won’t easily get lost in the snow.
What I Liked
Comes in thee sizes from 2.5-inches up to 4.5-inches
Economical

What I Didn’t Like
The squeaker may not be as durable as the rest of the toy

Best Tough Chew Toy on the Market
PetSafe Squeak and Treat

Why It’s the Best Choice
The Petsafe Squeak and Treat Ninja Star is an extremely durable toy made from heavy-duty non-toxic rubber.
The ninja star is both a squeaky toy and a treat dispenser.
So, it will both physically tire your dog out during play and help stimulate your dog mentally, making it the ultimate fun toy.
Though the ninja star is strong, it isn’t going to damage your dog’s teeth if they chew on it since it is made from rubber and not hard plastic.
What I Liked
Comes in three sizes
Easy for dogs to pick up
Dispenses kibble making it a good
What I Didn’t Like

Best Indestructible Squeaky Toy for Small Dogs
goDog Dragon
Click the image for more info
Why It’s the Best Choice
I love goDog toys. They are soft and lightweight yet pretty durable for small dogs.
The exterior is super soft, and it doesn’t have any plastic eyes or nose, plus it has minimal stuffing making it a safer toy to be flung around the house.
Plus, the interior is made with Chew Guard Technology[3], which is a very durable liner, and the seams are double-stitched, reinforcing the overall strength of the toy.
Unfortunately, it didn’t hold up against Calvin, who later ripped it open, but he’s not a small dog, and he has chewed up firehose tots.
What I Liked
The softness
It’s lightweight so when Mira tosses it around it doesn’t break anything
Comes in two sizes
What I Didn’t Like
Even the large size isn’t suitable for large breeds; the large is more for medium-sized dogs.

Toughest Squeaky Toy for Large Dogs
Nerf Dog Checker Ball
Click the image for more info
Why It’s the Best Choice
Based on most of the reviews this ball is pretty indestructible, one review mentioned it holds up against her Boxer-Pittbull mix, which I imagine has some serious chew power.
The Nerf Dog Checker Ball is made to be strong enough to endure aggressive chewers.
This Nerf ball is made of BPA-free non-toxic rubber, which is both safe and bite resistant.
The outside of the ball is specially designed with a checkered texture to make picking the ball up easy for both humans and dogs.

Why It’s the Best Choice
The KONG brand has a reliable reputation for making durable toys.
KONG is often the first brand that comes to mind when someone mentions an aggressive chewer.
Thankfully, KONG has expanded its line from its classic treat-dispensing toy to now include other toys such as balls and squeaky toys.
The Air KONG squeaker ball is lightweight enough to play safest inside the house, yet durable enough; you won’t be replacing it anytime soon.
Plus, it’s the same size as a tennis ball, which is a manageable size for most dogs. Larger and smaller versions are available, too.

Why It’s the Best Choice
This dual function toy will help you in keeping your dog’s teeth clean.
The squeaker makes it an attractive toy without having to add food to make the dental toy more appealing. Some dogs may prefer it over solid dental treats like Greenies.
Plus, if your dog won’t let you brush their teeth with toothpaste, you can always add it to the toy to maximize its dental benefits.
Based on several of the reviews, the Pamlulu has held up well even with large breed dogs, such as Great Danes and Boxers.

Best Indestructible Squeaky Toy for Pit Bulls
M.C. Works Pineapple XLarge
Click the image for more info
Why It’s the Best Choice
Pitbulls often get the short end of the stick when it comes to toys since they can easily chew apart the average squeaky toy.
However, every once in a while, a company comes out with a toy that can often withstand the aggressive chewing of large breed dogs.
M.C. Works Pineapple is well designed to hold up against the jaw power of a Pitbull.
It is made from a strong bite resistant, non-toxic industrial-strength rubber. As a bonus, this toy can also be used as a treat-dispenser.
What I Liked
Textured outside can aid in dental care
Multi-functional
Comes in different sizes
What I Didn’t Like

What to Consider When Choosing a Tough Toy
When choosing a durable toy with a squeaker, there are a few things to consider:
Your dog’s interests
Single or multi-functional
Its ability to float
How the toy is made
When I am considering different toys and their overall durability, I think about the various features or areas that may easily be chewed off.
For example, does it have arms and legs that will likely be amputated in play, or does the shape of the toy discourage chewing?
For example, the goDog Dragon is fine now, but when Mirabelle gets older, I have no doubt the wings will be the first to go.
So instead, as she gets older, I will replace the goDog with sturdier toys such as Tuffy.
Another factor I take into account is the weight of the toy.
We allow our dogs to play indoors and will throw a ball for them from time to time.
However, I prefer to use lighter weight toys for indoor fetch that will likely do less damage, such as the Gnawsome Squeaker ball.
Sturdier toys like the pineapple are suitable for outdoor play since toys made of hard rubber can take the different weather conditions and often wash-up well in the dishwasher.
Finally, when I am choosing fabric or plush toys, I prefer to choose toys with multiple layers of material, little to no fill, and reinforced seams, such as Charming Pet, Tuffy, and goDog.
Conclusion
We all want to keep our fur babies safe, and one the ways we can ensure we do this is by making sure the toys we choose for them are both entertaining yet also up to the task of being resistant to your dog’s chewing.
It’s hard to make just one recommendation.
Dogs have various interests, such as tug, fetch, or maybe they just like to play by themselves.
Mira loves playing ball, so I would recommend Gnawsome squeaker ball for other dogs who enjoy playing fetch. But Mira also loves her goDog dragon when she’s tired and just wants to chew on a toy before falling asleep.
My older dogs, especially Ginger, enjoy playing tug, so I recommend the Tuffy Tug O War as an indestructible toy.
And for dogs like Calvin, who loves the challenge of finding and destroying the squeaker, I would choose the M.C. Works Pineapple.
Overall, there are several great durable dog toys on the market.
Still, the reality is if you have a hard-core chewer, you must monitor them with new toys until you are confident they won’t chew the toy apart and possibly eat the small pieces.
Finally, keep in mind that squeaky toys and chew toys are two completely different categories.
If your dog loves to chew, then choose a chew toy made to be chewed on for long periods.
Except for the dental and treat dispensing toys, most squeaker toys are supposed to be more interactive than a chew toy.

Working Day in the Life: 21 Months Old
Hi friends! It has been ages since I did a day in the life post – especially a day in the life post on one of my work days vs. mom life days!
We have childcare twice a week – on Mondays from 10 to 4 and Wednesdays from 10 to 6. I can get a little work done on my mom days during naptime as well, but Mondays and Wednesdays are my days to get more focused work done, to take AnneTheRD nutrition client meetings or calls, and occasionally to go to appointments or attend to other stuff that’s not toddler-friendly. :)
So – here’s what I was up to this week on Wednesday!
6:15 a.m. – I always seem to wake up right around this time which is annoying if Riese isn’t up yet and if I’m not trying to do an early workout! I usually do early morning workouts (6 or 6:30 a.m.) 2 or 3 days a week, but this is not one of those days, so I try to fall back asleep.
6:45 a.m. – No dice, can’t fall back asleep, and I hear Riese waking up anyway. Matt is in the shower so I get myself up and going and head in to get her up, change her diaper, etc.
7:15 a.m. – Come downstairs and start breakfast! This basically entails Riese flipping out and refusing to be put down, so I do everything one handed. Usually I’ll get her started in her high chair with some fruit before I give her the rest of her breakfast, especially if I need two hands to make whatever else I’m making!
I have some leftover Veggie Egg Casserole and some fruit and muesli, plus yogurt that Riese feeds to me. ;) Sidenote – Riese LOVES banana and I’ve been giving it to her with a little nut butter on each bite – helps keep her full longer than just the banana alone… especially if it’s a day where she only wants to eat the banana and nothing else.
We say bye to Matt at 7:20 – he has an early meeting to get to.
7:45 – 9:20 a.m. Bumble around the house cleaning up from breakfast, playing with the dog and cat and various toys, feeding the dog and cat, and getting myself and Riese ready for the day.
I love that our sitter doesn’t come until 10 a.m. – our previous nanny used to arrive at 8 a.m., and while the extra hands were helpful, I love our new routine and am grateful to get to spend morning time with Riese every day of the week now. :)
9:25 a.m. – We finally make it out the door! Every weekday morning Riese and I take the dog for a walk or a jog. I’m always proud when we finally get out the door because it’s so many logistics… getting dressed and ready for me and Riese, getting the (outrageously excited and jumping all over us) dog ready and waiting by the door with her leash, collar, poop bags, etc., getting a snack for Riese ready and both of our water bottles ready, grabbing (/trying to find) my phone and hat, getting Riese in the stroller while the dog waits inside, THEN bringing the dog out and attaching her leash to the stroller, then putting sunscreen on both of us… OMG so much. Ha. I can only imagine this with more than 1 child… (not pregnant, just a comment)!
Sidenote – thank you for all your helpful comments on Monday’s blog post about bribery and strong toddler opinions… I’ve been reframing things with the morning stroller and now instead of “please just get in the stroller and I will give you a snack” – I’ve been talking it up and saying “Let’s get dressed, and then you can enjoy your snack in the stroller when we walk the dog.” Same outcome, but framed more positively for both of us. :)
(Another sidenote – if you also have a very strong willed child, check out this article that a blog reader shared – I found it helpful! Peaceful Parenting Your Strong-Willed Child)
9:30 – 10 a.m. – Stroller run with Riese and the dog! It’s pretty hot out already but I was craving a workout and our dog is always super happy if we run vs. walk. ;)
We probably cover about 1.5 to 2 miles, which is about my max when the stroller is in the mix. That ish is hard!
10 a.m. – Arrive back home just as the sitter arrives – perfect timing! I always try to time it like this so that Riese is still in the stroller and I can quickly show our nanny the food situation for Riese for the day and then send them right off to the playground, vs. Riese coming inside first, clinging to my legs and crying, etc.
She’s still sad when I say bye, but if she’s still in the stroller at least it’s easy to quickly get her distracted and off to their adventure.
10:10 a.m. – Hop in the shower and get ready for the day.
10:40 a.m. – Head out the door with my work stuff in tow. #WetHairDontCare
I take a bit of a roundabout route to avoid going by the playground or down the street where Riese and our sitter could be walking around… if Riese sees me she’ll get really sad all over again (and so will I)!
I also eat a snack while I’m walking – a peanut butter oatmeal ball from Stomping Ground in Del Ray + an Oatmeal Banana Coconut Cookie (
I packed two of each so I save the other two for the afternoon!
10:50 a.m. – Grab a quick iced latte because I realize I forgot to have coffee this morning and I’m dragging.
11 a.m. – Tour a co-working space in Del Ray! I mentioned last week that I tried one out in Old Town, Alexandria that I really liked, but I discovered there’s one walking distance to our house so I wanted to give it a shot too because not having to drive (and deal with expensive/annoying Old Town parking) would be ideal.
11:05 a.m. – It’s a small space so it was a quick tour! They let me stay and work for the day to test it out, which is what I was hoping, so I set up shop and get going. It’s SUPER quiet (only one other person around) which I actually don’t love because I’d rather have more life/action going on, but the convenience may mean I go with this place over the Old Town one even though I liked the more lively vibe better in Old Town… we’ll see.
My blog post for the day (my Watermelon Mojito Sorbet) is already live (I wrote it and pre-published it on Monday so it would appear on Wednesday morning – I usually do this nowadays since I’m not actively online as early as I used to be), so I spend some time sharing it around on social media, sending the links to the client, and then catching up on emails and blog comments.
12:40 p.m. – Break for lunch! I walk over to Stomping Ground and order their beet salad with roasted chicken added.
It’s really delicious!
While I eat, I listen to an episode of Janet Lansbury’s parenting podcast “Unruffled” that a bunch of you recommended to me in the comments section of Monday’s post. I love that the episodes are mostly only about 20 minutes – perfect!
I listen to the January 22 episode about how to set limits with children (even those as young as Riese). It’s really interesting and helpful! I also got her book (“No Bad Kids: Toddler Discipline Without Shame“). Matt downloaded it on Audible and is going to listen to it in the car on his commute so we are on the same page.
1 p.m. – Take a quick walk around the block (technology free) to reset and get some fresh air.
1:15 p.m. – Back to my desk!
I spend the rest of the afternoon catching up on emails, working ahead on some blog stuff (like starting this post, and another recipe post that’s in the works), and working on some blog redesign to-do items (reviewing old recipe blog posts to see which ones I want to keep/feature – they sent me a massive spreadsheet of links to go through, oof).
At some point I get tired of sitting and set up this makeshift standing desk using a filing cabinet. ;)
Around 4, I eat the rest of my snack from the morning. I probably should have brought something savory and crunchy with me as well because I’m still a little hungry and craving something not sweet or chewy, but oh well!
5 p.m. – AnneTheRD nutrition client call.
5:30 p.m. – Send my client a follow up email, wrap up a few other loose end emails, and pack up and head out the door.
5:55 p.m. – Arrive home – yay! It’s always so fun to come home to Riese – she gets SO excited and runs towards me. It’s the best. :)
6 p.m. – Say farewell to our sitter and go upstairs to play with Riese.
6:45 p.m. – Riese starts getting a little manic (throwing heavy wood toys down the stairs, and when I ask her to please keep the toys upstairs with us, she instead starts throwing them at me… ahh, toddlers) so I decide it’s time to get her ready for bed. Usually Matt gets home between 6:30 and 7 but he texted that it would be a late one, so I know I’m not trying to keep Riese up to see him!
7:15 p.m. – Finally get Riese wrangled into her jammies, drinking some milk, and reading a book/singing with me to try to calmmmm things down a bit before bed.
7:30 p.m. – Lights out for Riese. Night, night!
I come downstairs and snack on some crackers and guac while trying to decide if I feel up for making an elaborate dinner. ;)
I eventually decide to throw together a simple rice, beans, and fish situation.
I pan sear some fish rubbed with a little Mexican-themed seasoning…
And then serve it with 90 second brown rice, microwave string beans, and some canned black beans. Easy and fast! Enjoyed with a magazine. :)
8:30 p.m. – Clean up the kitchen, tidy up downstairs, and then sort through some mail and packages.
My new purse came – cute, right? Less than $20 on Amazon and comes in a ton of color options, too! I needed a new everyday purse that would match everything – I had two I alternated between but both were basically falling apart after many years of use. I was nerdy excited to put all my stuff away in this. I like the size – not too big, but big enough to fit a water bottle, phone, wallet, etc.
9 p.m. – Head upstairs and get ready for bed.
9:15 p.m. – In bed! Getting in bed early to read is my fave. I start reading the “No Bad Kids” book – interesting, although I wish she went into a little more detail about how to carry out her advice…
9:30 p.m. – Matt is home! Wow, that was a late one. Poor guy! We catch up on our days and relax.
10 p.m. – Lights out! I’m wiped and I have my alarm set for 5:33 am (yes, those 3 minutes matter) to hit a yoga class – oof!

Feel free to play along in the comments – what’s a typical day in the life like for you?
In other news, I’m off to Monterey, California tomorrow! I’m attending a press trip that takes place Monday to Thursday, but decided to head out early to see my friend Lauren from grad school. I’m excited! I’ll pop back in on Monday with some travel adventures, so stay tuned – or see what I’m up to on Instagram in the meantime. :)

Working Day in the Life: 21 Months Old
Working Day in the Life: 21 Months Old:
