Like, it’s me. I’m the one who had an abortion for “selfish” reasons. I’m the one anti-choice women can point to and be like, how horrible that these women kill their babies for their own convenience! They mean me when they want women forced to give birth to children they don’t want. If they had their way, I’d have a 12 yr old right now and be stuck in contact with my ex. I still don’t want those women to be pregnant when they don’t want to be. Like, this isn’t fucking hard.

Oh, and to add to the point about men being most of the ones who make these laws, yet the desired punishment for anti-choice views being female-specific, this is once again the first and fourth rules of misogyny in action:
1) Women are responsible for what men do
4) Women’s words are violence; therefore violence against women is justified
You know what I actually hope for as punishment for the majority male anti-choicers (and by that I am absolutely including men who wish forced birth on anti-choice women) besides death or castration? I hope if they ever impregnate a woman, she chooses to do exactly what he doesn’t want. He wants her to keep it, he’s all excited to be a dad? I hope she chooses to abort and then ghosts him/divorces him. He wants her to abort because having a kid would be inconvenient for him? I hope she chooses to keep it and then breaks up with/divorces him and that he gets zero custody but still has to pay child support.
And you know what? I actually hope similar for anti-choice women: I hope if her daughter ever gets pregnant and she really wants a grandchild that the daughter chooses to abort and then goes no-contact with her toxic mother. I hope if she wants her daughter to abort for the family’s reputation that the daughter chooses to keep it and then goes no-contact with her toxic mother.
I hope most of all, of course, that no woman is ever pregnant when she doesn’t want to be, but that unfortunately isn’t the reality, and I can’t see a better living punishment for anti-choice people than for the women in their lives to make the choices they don’t want them to, only if that’s what they want, of course, but I can hope.
“i hope someone in this prominent pro-lifer’s inner circle gets pregnant when she doesn’t want to be and has to get an abortion, i bet the pro-lifer will change their tune”
weird thing to want given that a lot of pro-lifers won’t change their mind, no exceptions

Yesterday, Palestinian and solidarity organizers disrupted a Biden campaign event 14 times during his speech on the protection of women's rights. These activists called out hypocrisy because Biden and his administration are actively causing a reproductive care catastrophe in Gaza.
50,000 pregnant women do not have access to healthcare in Gaza, and C-sections are being performed without anesthesia. Women and children in Gaza are being killed by U.S.-made and supplied bombs.
described by @winged-wolf-s-collection-of-arts
[ID: Transcription of what the protesters are saying, while security personnel try to get them out:
Israel kills two mothers every hour in Gaza. Ceasefire now! End the genocide! Ceasefire!
Women in Gaza are being murdered. Killing people in Gaza is a war crime. You are a war criminal.
Stop funding genocide! Ceasefire now!
50,000 pregnant women don't have healthcare. Their blood is on your hands. Ceasefire!
Ceasefire now! Stop funding genocide! Gaza is a reproductive issue.
Free, free Palestine!
The end of the video shows article headlines with photos of the protesters or of Joe Biden, from various news organizations:

fixations on nuance and fixations on hypocrisy both feel like the same impulse to me. like an obsession with detail for the sake of detail, both coming from a place that views all political discourse as simply a battle over information and facts. it confuses on the one hand that dogmatic “un-nuanced” positions (“decolonization is a violent and morally necessary process”) can actually be highly adaptable to a range of political contexts, not in spite of local variation in details but because of it, and on the other, misunderstands that the rhetoric of one’s political enemies is meant to articulate a particular vision of power, not factual truths about the world, which only seems contradictory (“conservatives hate abortion but love the death penalty!”) if one takes all rhetoric at its most literal face value

Tumblr media
The party at the Stark mansion was a success as always. The cream of society was made up of businesspeople and new candidates for a seat in the American Congress. Dresses and hats fluttered in the cool spring breeze. You devoured a bowl of sugared blackberries, leaning against the bar counter, while watching your parents talk with friends animatedly about some topic involving economics and money. For God! You were so bored not even one of your friends decided to join you in this den of ostentation and hypocrisy.
And nothing, no matter how exciting it was to be in a superhero's house, could appease the enormous boredom that consumed his insides. Not even alcohol could keep you company at this point, your father would die before allowing a drop of alcohol to wet his tongue, so you were left with sugary blackberries that proved to be a good aphrodisiac on a hot afternoon.
You swallowed the last blackberry and left the empty bowl on the counter. He walked to his mother and whispered ‘’I’m going for a walk’’ in her ear and left the room before his mother could retort. You easily dodged the hundreds of guests and headed to the farthest drinks tent where an efficient bartender was juggling. The tent was outside, near a clump of trees, away from the watchful eyes of his parents.
“A blackberry margarita, please.” You asked, leaning slightly over the ivory surface.
"Identity." He asked.
“I didn’t bring it, but I guarantee that I’m of legal age.” You smiled as convincingly as you could, but he didn't seem inclined to help you. You rolled your eyes. “I’ll give you 100 bucks for the drinks.”
The bartender looked at You in disbelief. You felt internally angry; The childish features still hadn't left his face like the cute cheeks and plump lips, and that always got him into trouble.
“Not happening, girl.”
"Please! This party is a big mess, if you know what I mean. I need to stuff my face or I’m going to go crazy.”
Again he looked at her in disbelief. He was probably one of those people who only saw parts published in gossip magazines about young heirs who got into trouble.
"It went badly."
You sighed. Your father didn't even let you bring your cell phone. It was not polite, in his opinion, for a rich girl to interrupt an important conversation because of a message.
“A straight whiskey, please.” The deep voice next to him. “And a blackberry margarita.”
Without having to present ID or leave a tip to guarantee efficient service, the man, the damn Captain America, got both orders at incredible speed. The only thing You could think about was how tall and handsome he was.
"Here." He handed her the drink. “I got the impression that you forgot your identity and are being massacred by the damn bureaucracy.”
You smiled; by the drink and the wording so changing coming from a man considered by many to be an American God.
“Thank you, Captain.” You said as you took a sip of your drink.
“Steve. Just Steve.” He said taking a generous sip of his own drink. “I hope he really is of age. I don’t want to get in trouble.”
"Right. Steve. Just Steve.” You repeated with a mischievous smile. “I promise I will show you my ID as soon as possible.”
“What’s your name, pretty girl?”
You found yourself smiling and blushing at such a flippant compliment coming from such a divine man. You told him your name.
“A beautiful and delicate name. It suits you." He took another generous sip of his Whiskey and you took advantage and drank some more of your drink. It was sweet and went down as light as water.
“How can I thank you for the drink?” You asked.
"Talk to me."
You drank more of your blackberry margarita.
"About what?"
"Anything. Just… entertain me at this boring party.”
“Anything…” You took another sip. “As long as we can help ourselves to one more of these.” You got ready for your now empty glass.
“I wouldn’t have it any other way.” Steve said, finishing the whiskey with a hint of a smile on his lips.
At some point, between conversations and glasses of margarita, Steve convinced you to show him every corner of the mansion. You accepted, looking excited about taking a tour with such a handsome man by your side. You and Steve left the tent, avoiding curious glances and boring conversations. He showed you the room where the Avengers met, the works of art that Tony insisted on buying, the training room and finally a long corridor with similar doors. He opened one of them and you entered a large room without windows, with a large sofa in the center, a minibar, a large TV that took up the entire wall and a strange device that you thought was a stereo.
It was large, clean and richly decorated. It felt like a sanctuary for leisure time. Steve pointed to the sofa and you sat down, he went to the minibar and returned with a bottle of reddish liquid. He sat down next to her.
“Do you want to drink more”? He reached out his hand, wrapping his long fingers around the bottleneck. He extended this to You as if it were not a trap that You were about to willingly fall into. “It’s a liqueur made with blackberries. I got it from a senator at a party at the White House. I noticed how much You like the fruit and I would like You to try it.”
You had already had too much to drink. There were glasses and more glasses of margaritas, and you already felt your body a little soft, but you couldn't refuse the proposal of a man as beautiful as that. The man who sacrificed a lot for this nation. It's just a drink, You thought. Getting drunk next to Captain America, who is a hero, is a much better idea than getting drunk alone in a mansion. And you loved blackberries.
"Yes please." You mumbled, and Steve looked so proud of your response. He poured you a generous dose of drink. You drank. It was strong and very concentrated, very different from your sweet and light margherita. You didn't care you just drank more while Steve looked at You with a big smile. Beautiful. It was a beautiful smile.
One drink turned into two, then three and four.
“You’re blushing.” He smiled, he said drinking some of the liquor. “Your first kiss wasn’t that bad.”
You didn't notice. But You started sharing very personal things with Steve; You told him how your first kiss, as a child, was a disaster with a classmate you liked. You said how it was drooling and clumsy.
"It was horrible". You made a cart.” I did it because my friends wanted it. I should have waited longer.”
You don't feel it, but your knees spread of their own accord as a warm hand, not yours, lifts your dress a little and exposes the inside of your thigh and begins to massage in gentle circles as you finish another glass, laughing hard. , the heat growing whenever he got closer.
“A girl as beautiful as you should have someone.” He says in a reprimanding tone. He was close, very close. You drank more.
“No” You laugh, louder than usual, You feel so good, so light. But you feel a wave of disappointment wash over your body when you remember that you had no one. She couldn't even remember the last time she was touched or praised by the opposite sex.
“With such a beautiful face like that, it’s hard to believe.” He smiled. “Such a beautiful body and...”
He pauses.
“And…” You encourage him to continue.
“With breasts as beautiful as yours, I’m sure everyone…” He stops, looking embarrassed, his hand on your thigh about a little more. "Forgive me. This is inappropriate.
"No." You say quickly, urgently, although more slurred than usual.” I don't mind. You can praise them.”
"No?" He asks, his voice perfectly steady, with fake surprise behind it. Had you and he already had so much to drink because he didn't seem any different? “Would you mind showing them? I would love to see."
You shake your head and mumble no. With one hand, the other held the glass of drink, You released the bows on your dress that held your breasts, You didn't wear a bra, you didn't need them to make your breasts look beautiful, something you were secretly proud of. Her breasts bounce out towards him.
Steve reaches out his hand and gives it a nice squeeze. You let out a small moan at the intimate touch.
“I want to suck your six.” He blurts out.
His smile disappears, mostly in shock at such a bold revelation. But a part, a big part, of you feels flattered that Captain America wants to play with your breasts and all you wanted at that moment was for him to touch you.
"All good." You mumble in a slurred, broken voice.
Steve pushes your body until his head is between your breasts. You feel him take a deep breath, smelling you, his right hand grabs one of your breasts. He tilts his head and wraps his lips around your closest nipple.
The sensation is strange, it tickles, cold, but it warms up quickly. You had never felt someone do it like this before, it was much more like a brief lick or a clumsy and seductive suck like many boys did. But with Steve it was different. He was grasping as if trying to extract fluid that will never come out. He moans lewdly. You drop the glass and place your hand under his blonde locks, pressing his head against your breasts.
“Steve.” You let out a moan as he takes a long nip before releasing your breasts in a wet pop.
“Where is your glass?” He asks.
You don't respond, because you're too oblivious to pay attention to his words. His body was hot, his vision blurred and his nipples hard and sensitive. You were oblivious when you felt Steve put a full glass in your hands, he mumbled a drink and you obeyed, wanting to leave him satisfied.
You drank more. Maybe four or five or six more glasses. You do not remember. The last one ended up kind of spilled because you couldn't hold it while Steve helped you take off his dress. You feel his head being placed on a soft pillow or perhaps a cushion, You couldn't tell; his vision was blurred and his senses were weak. Warm hands slide down your legs to your panties and gently remove them. Your blurred vision is bathed in the sight of Steve shirtless on top of you. Beautiful. He was so beautiful.
You're moaning and shaking with nervousness, or at least you would be if his grip wasn't holding you in place. Her pussy burned with heat and desire, it was like rough sandpaper that moved in and out, swinging a seesaw from hell.
“It hurts.” You mutter. You were a mess and you know it, the words come out slow and slurred. Humiliation rises deeper than pleasure can reach, and disgust crawls over your skin with a sheen of sweat. He had touched her before. Stimulating your clit until you came on his long fingers, but it wasn't enough, it never would be. He was big and thick, with powerful hips that caused her great pain with each thrust.
You weren’t expecting it when he tilted his hips just to rub the fat head of his cock against your aching pussy. You moan at the small shock waves caused by the brief contact with your clit, but he smothers your moans with a wet, hot kiss, taking away your oxygen. He shoved his cock back inside her ripped hole.
He moaned against You, his mouth open panting, as if he was feeling something that You didn't. The intrusion not only stretches, but burns and hurts. Dry fiction mixes with rough movement. The tears flow, You feel the wet trail they leave on your cheeks. The disorientation left You dizzy and contained, a prisoner of your own body, but that didn't stop Him from exerting his strength against You. He was heavy. Upon noticing your whimpering, the hand that was on your hips goes up to cover your mouth, spreading tears and saliva everywhere.
“It’s okay, my love.” He said between moans. “You are so beautiful and as sweet as berries.”
The blackberries. The damn blackberries were the ones who brought her here. Steve gives another powerful thrust, preventing any further thought. You scream into his hand. He begins to fuck with desire, with strong thrusts, riding his own release. You moan, writhe, scream when a sensation begins to blossom at the tip of your toes that rises to your abdomen causing your muscles to contract slightly and then relax. Steve doesn't stay far behind, he pulls out of your pussy and with one last thrust spills all of his semen inside of you.
You are sleeping too deeply to understand, but not too deeply not to hear. You hear some loud footsteps, a door closes, before you feel someone approaching.
"Mommy." You speak as you sit up, try to open your eyes, your mind is still spinning. A great light hits your eyes and you close them quickly. Little by little you open your eyes slowly until you get used to it.
You wish your mother had killed the man who enchanted you with smiles and drinks so that you would give yourself to him, you may fear that strange conversation and the lectures, but you longed for your mother's safety and her lap. But it wasn't his mother who was sitting next to him. It was him.
“It’s okay, sweetheart.” He says as he brushes the strands of hair out of your face. “Your parents are a little upset now, but they will get over it little by little, you'll see. They will be happy for their little daughter who has won over the national hero and is about to walk down the aisle.”
"What are you talking about?" You say roughly, trying to get up, but the quick action made your body weaken. Steve picks you up and sits back down on the couch.
“I will take care and spoil you a lot, my love. You will see. I will fill you with gifts and love. We're gonna have a lot of fun." Steve says with a scary look on his face.
"You are crazy." You say in tears. “My parents will...”
"Do not worry about a thing." He pulls away and stands up, walking over to the minibar counter where a red bowl awaits him. He pities her and returns to You. “I'm already taking care of everything. All You need to do now is eat.”
Fear flooded your body You had already trusted that man and look what happened, but You had already seen too many documentaries and police series to know how much this type of person hated being contradicted. Maybe being his sweet, obedient girl would provide you with some benefit. With your body shaking, you stretched to see the contents of that bowl. A sound of disgust escaped his mouth when he realized they were blackberries.

I agree so much with your analysis of the of the moon tea scene but it also hit me that in this episode we see the Blackwood Lord bring up that he tried to win Rhaenyra’s hand. It’s a reminder that Rhaenyra had the choice and the privilege to choose her spouse, of course she lost that privilege but she did get to choose her children’s fathers. Alicent didn’t and her husband didn’t love hers.
Not that I think Alicent wants to be a mother again at this point in her life. She is a grandmother now (and Jaehaera has become her responsibility as well) and she is practically still raising her adult children and desperately wants her sons them to become self sufficient and less in need of guidance. But I think the pregnancy has again reminded her of a life she was never allowed to have because her life was already chosen for her by her father and Viserys at 14.
She doesn’t really want the child that would come from it but this is first child that wasn’t forced on her. She was a willing participant this time and this child was made out of big, emotions that are new to Alicent like love, lust, freedom, recklessness, indulgence and selfishness. In an another life that she was as never allowed, the child would’ve been born to a man who would be a great father- he has been a better father to her children than their own father.
Ultimately though, she is finally in control of her womb and drinks the tea. Which like choosing a partner this time and consenting to sex, enjoying it, being in control- this is another freedom she never had before. However, I think there is also a side of it that is still duty and sacrifice too though. Alicent is always going to do what she has to do with a stiff upper lip. She’s not Rhaenyra and knows how it would be detrimental to Aegon’s reign and Aegon’s cause for war. It would be the ultimate hypocrisy and an embarrassment to herself and her family. So she does her duty and she makes the only sound choice to be made.
I’m reminded of the line she’s going to say this season about how she always did what was expected of her and how she tried to live by the Seven’s examples and it all still amounts to nothing.
It’s not lost on me that in this episode she aborts the last child to ever take root in her womb. Then she uses the first child to ever grow in her womb as a conduit for all of her anger and negative emotions. She tells him that he has no idea of all the sacrifices she made in her life for him but like herself, he never chose any of this. Otto chose her life and in turn she chose Aegon’s.
So she blows up on Aegon, then he impulsively goes off to war on a dragon to prove himself worthy to her and worthy of his name and title. He’s then gravely injured by the hands of her other son and is on the brink of death. So it’s like once again the life of duty, sacrifice and rationality amounts to nothing. She did not successfully put her son on the iron throne and even after sacrificing so much of herself to protect him, he might still die.
Hi anon 💚
That is an interesting observation! Alicent never had any authority over her body, and she claimed this authority by choosing to sleep with Criston and also consciously choosing to abort his child. Perhaps she thought that had the circumstances been different, she might have wanted to have this child which wasn't conceived as a result of rape. Alicent understands that aborting the child proves to be yet another duty to herself and another sacrifice for the rest of her children.
It is interesting that Alicent can finally be in control of her own narrative, but at the same time, she is still confined within her roles and expectations. Her choice to drink the moon tea is self-liberating from one hand but restrictive from the other, because she knows she has no other option. She has tried hard to grasp and taste freedom, and yet she is still not entirely free. Because even if she wanted to keep the child, that would be denied. So again, she tries hard to gain some agency and control over her body but, ultimately, this is limited to what social conventions and expectations demand of her.
This is why I liked the framing in the last shot of the moon tea scene as the camera zooms out and shows Alicent already suffering her abortion pains, defined by the pillars and the furniture in her room that becomes her prison. No matter how hard she tries to escape, no matter what she does, she is still bound. It is so tragic to think about.
Your points about how she uses Aegon as a conduit for all her anger for what she had to go through minutes before but also what she went through her whole life make total sense. Aegon has become the representation of all her troubles and the manifestation of her trauma. She lashes out at him because she could never lash out at Otto or Viserys, and in her mind, Aegon becomes synonymous with the person "who started it all."
So Aegon takes the blame for being the reason she is still there, in the castle, confined by others' expectations, forced to dote on duty and sacrifice, forced to give birth to more children. He takes the blame for all of his father's and grandfather's sins, and in his face, she sees her pain but also her strength, perseverance, and self-claimed power, since he is the reason she has become the person she is. She would never change him for the world, because that would deny and negate all she ever lived for. The possibility that he might die and with him, part of her own sense of self-worth, must be harrowing for Alicent.
I can't wait to see more of them next episode. The dynamic they have is one of the best, if not the best, in the entire show.

Hi, I don’t know if you talk about these things but do you have any thoughts on the statement Vivianne Miedema made in an article about the 2034 World Cup being held in Saudi Arabia. I’d like to hear your thoughts if you have any. I have my opinions about it and she is being blasted online, do you think it’s fair/justified or not?
hello, anon! well, i am going to continue the blasting of miedema. and not only have i discussed this blatant hypocrisy before (you can read my prior posts on the topic here), but i have a lot of thoughts on this 'new' world cup controversy too. we saw the petition against saudi aramco being a sponsor and now viv miedema posted a new column in which she expressed the following:
Tumblr media
meanwhile:
Tumblr media
am i extremely disappointed with the women's football community including the media for turning a blind eye to the plight of arab and muslim women? hell yeah. and sorry to be cynical, but i don't even think miedema actually cares about the the women living in these countries but only the fact of how she might be personally affected by traveling to saudi.
my thoughts:
the selective outrage is infuriating. we are open about criticising saudi arabia but where is the criticism of israel or the united states which is hosting the 2026 world cup? 🤔
if we all of a sudden care about women's rights, would it shock you to learn that saudi arabia has less strict abortion laws than the states of texas and florida in the united states? or that america is actively rolling back trans and lgbt rights? where's the petition about moving the world cup from there?
the us has also killed hundreds of thousands of civilians over the past decade, including athletes and footballers. they are funding israel's genocide but america gets a pass?
israel is still a member of uefa and still gets to participate in tournaments, but it can maim and kill female footballers without impunity? oh it's because they are arab, so who cares 🙄
the whole situation is comical to me. we want to punish selective countries for their human rights violations. but i have been to saudi arabia a few times and have personally witnessed the progress in women's rights from when i was a child to now, and it's night and day. so we are okay punishing that, but countries like usa and Israel are going backwards and thats' okay?
as for miedema and others, who signs their paychecks? do the gulf countries not do the same things that you are protesting? and are footballers not traveling to dubai on the regular? 😵‍💫
tl;dr, save me your hypocritical bullshit. if you care about women's rights in these countries, then actually do something. heck even alexia and ana ecube went to saudi arabia and physically worked with children and women there.
your empty words are meaningless 😤

Space Babies! Weird episode, but it had a charm. I had already prepared myself for the fact that RTD's era was notoriously camp and weird, and that I would for the first time be experiencing new episodes by him as an adult rather than as a 9-13 year-old, so it's not news to me that there would be some campy nonsense with a deeper message, and that this might be more jarring than I'm used to. The deeper themes were really thrown out (refugees, anti-abortion hypocrisy, genocide, capitalism) without being dwelt on, but that's not necessarily a problem.
The babies themselves were... a little unnerving? The mouth movements were quite uncanny, along with their voices and the general "I love you, Ruby!" of it all. I've just now made the connection that the latter puts me in mind of adverts for baby dolls.
The gunky snot monster felt very early 2000s British children's TV. If you weren't there for that, just know there was so much slime; think Slitheen exploding. I am very glad it got rescued. Nice message with the Doctor not usually running from things just because they look scary and, even though this is a creature specifically manufactured to be scary, it still deserves a shot at life.
It feels like a strange story to start with because I suspect it'll have mixed reviews. I would think you'd want a slightly more solid episode to draw people in with. Anyway, there was still a lot of thought put into making this a proper jumping off point with all its Doctor Who 101 stuff. Funny for a long-time viewer hearing it all rattled off in record time, but important to establish for new people, and I do think it's important for the show to remain accessible to people who haven't been obsessing over it for twenty years or more.
As a jumping off point, it very specifically reminded me of The End of the World. There's the big observation deck on a space station where the new companion, in her second episode and first off-world adventure, gets her phone updated so she can call her mum, in particular. The parallels to Rose are interesting, especially with the lecture the Doctor gives Ruby about how they can't travel back to meet her missing parent(s).
Speaking of that, there's some intrigue there with the snow appearing and the memory changing. I didn't like the Doctor doing a DNA scan of Ruby without her knowledge. It feels very 11th Doctor, especially when he literally scanned Amy and withheld medical information, but also the way he treated all his female companions as mystery boxes to solve without telling them. I guess we'll see what that's all about at a later point.
I'm still not completely sold on Millie Gibson, but Ncuti Gatwa is wonderful, and I do really appreciate their chemistry.
Small things:
Jocelyn was a good character, and the Nan-E filter made me laugh several times.
That place name before the Doctor turned the translation circuits off was absolutely not in English. Slightly weird way to phrase that line if it's going to be called Pacifico del Rio.
This is a very early point in the series for Ruby to get a TARDIS key! We're really speedrunning the usual steps here.

Wow your Orym tags really are an eye-opener. You are totally right and now I understand the bitterness about this character a little better. I've seen a lot of "...but C3 is supposed to be this and that" takes and I guess a lot of people think they are owed a certain storyline?
Yeah. People feeling as though they're owed a certain storyline is not new nor exclusive to Critical Role; it's been pretty common in fandom for years (see this excellent post that I still think about). But the particular blame being placed on Orym is a fun new twist on this theme.
I'm sure there's people who hate Orym for other reasons; shipping wank is another very common form of entitlement to a particular storyline. I must admit when it comes to Twitter I think some people just yell random lies out into the void to hear their own voice because there is no underlying logic to any of it. But I do think a large number of people who have been blaming Orym for everything for what is now the majority of the campaign are doing so because he has consistetly refused to entertain the idea that Ludinus makes any valid points from the start, and the narrative has pretty much only rewarded him for that.
A lot of people really thought that Campaign 3 "all bets are off" didn't mean like, messing with the narrative structure (they hate when that happens by the way. they acted like Downfall and the Solstice Split and the fact that this has been a very plot-driven campaign rather than one about character backstory are all fucking violations of the Geneva convention the way they carried on, and I say this as a person who can complain) but rather that Critical Role, a D&D-based fantasy, would shed those pesky two previous campaigns of canon (unless of course earlier canon helps them make a point. I truly cannot believe someone made like 5 alts and harassed me and all my mutuals for an entire evening over hypocrisy for...liking one ship more than another when these idiots exist) in order to become some kind of deeply pathetic "French Revolution Except Instead Of Kings It's Gods" historical re-enactment.
We're at the point where like, nothing has validated them and everything they've claimed the gods have done, Ludinus or the Weave Mind have done like, tenfold. As mentioned, the people who were like "oh my god STOP SAYING HUBRIS anyway obviously Bells Hells would NEVER see the gods as relatable" just watched Laudna and Imogen be like "wow, they're flawed and conflicted and a fucked up family just like us." I shit you not, I saw someone criticize FCG's relationship with the Changebringer because "he had to work for it" as if that's not like...how literally all relationships work if you're not an utter black hole of entitled self-absorption. The Kreviris Imperium wants to straight up colonize all of Exandria but they turn a blind eye. There's someone out there talking about putting Rashinna's head on a pike for being willing to endanger the poor Ruidusborn children that...Liliana (probably to some extent coerced by Ludinus to be fair) could have left alone to live out their lives on Exandria. People genuinely channel some anti-abortion "but What About The Disabled Children? Shouldn't Pregnant People Be Forced To Carry And Parent Them" style arguments at Alma's "hey, we have people delay birth for like half an hour so their children don't have The Psychic Migraine Disorder That Made Imogen Possibly Suicidal". The arguments have devolved into "well, canon isn't real" and "but the status quo" as if there aren't ALIENS FROM SPACE SPEAKING AT THE DRAGON VATICAN. How STUPID do you have to be to think that wouldn't change the entire world. Or, to get back to this ask, how desperate are you to maintain the illusion that you are going to get a wish-fulfillment campaign that never once existed? So yeah. They blame Orym because otherwise they have to blame literally the entire cast, and themselves.

Elon and Trump attack social service organizations--how you can help (and why you should)
Between them, the Lutherans and the Catholics have the two largest private social service networks in the country. Now, you may say, "but Christian charity is bad!" But Lutherans don't discriminate. The largest Lutheran denomination (the ELCA) is also the most liberal, with LGBTQ+ pastors and a public social statement that abortion should be legal. Lutheran social services have a long, proven track record of doing good without discrimination and without requiring any religious component--LSS organizations will serve anyone of any religion (or none) the same as they would serve Christians, and they do not use religion as a p. Which is why some of their funding comes from the government!
The government funds private charities in two ways. Most commonly (but usually in fairly small ways) they have grants, which are competitive and hard to get. They also sometimes subcontract with charity/social service organizations when those organizations a) comply with Federal regulations (such as nondiscrimination), and b) have a proven track record of effectiveness and efficiency. Those contracts are harder to get. LSS and Catholic charities have a lot of them.
For example, the US government has a fund for refugee resettlement. This has long been a thing with bipartisan support, for both ethical and practical reasons. Global Refuge, the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee service, has been helping refugees and immigrants from all over the globe for 90 years, everything from supporting refugees in camps, helping them go home and start over when that is possible, and helping them find new homes and establish new lives when it is not. In the US, they support refugees with housing assistance, language classes, job finding, teaching them how to handle American life, etc., etc. (All without putting religious pressure on their clients.) They do an excellent job, and because of that, they get federal money, in addition to the charitable donations and financial support from Lutheran churches.
For another example, in my own community, our local LSS organization provides child and family welfare services--they don't place kids in homes, but they help with family reunification and doing the leg work to see that the kids stay connected to their families and communities if it is at all possible, instead of just getting lost in the system and forgotten about. Sometimes this means helping the parents fix whatever they need to to get their kids back. Sometimes this means helping the kids stay connected to grandparents, aunts and uncles, or siblings. They also provide low-cost and free therapy on a sliding scale (not religion-based therapy, but regular therapy).
LSS organizations throughout the country also do disaster relief (usually arriving before other charities like the Red Cross, and staying longer to make sure everything is still being taken care of after the news cameras leave). They do food pantry and hunger work. They do housing assistance. They do addiction support and counseling. Basically, any need you can think of, there's a Lutheran Social Service organization working on it somewhere.
Lutheran social services does a lot of good work.
Elon Musk just went on Twitter claiming that they're money laundering and it's a scam to steal billions of government dollars.
Besides the hypocrisy here, it's a blatant attempt to justify shutting down funding for social services in general. Because if they defund LSS and Catholic Charities, they're not going to take the money and fund government alternatives, they're just going to shut the programs down. LSS and Catholic charities receive private donor support, so they would still exist, but in a much smaller fashion. As leaky as the social safety net is, this would make it exponentially worse. And we can talk about "should the government be subcontracting these services or should it handle such things directly?" but the choice at the moment is not between the current model and the government doing it, the choice is between the current model and it not happening.
And the thing is, especially if you live in a red state, you can do something about this. You can call your congresspeople to complain, and they will probably be in favor of the very thing Trump is attacking. Look up to see if any of those organizations operate in your district. (You can get a PDF of what they have in your state here.) Call your rep to ask "Why is Elon Musk attacking [local Lutheran nonprofit]? He says he's stopping their payments - how are you going to prevent that? We need [whatever service they provide]!" (You can google "lutheran social service + area" and it will probably give you the names of the organization(s) operating in your area.) If nothing else, you can complain about him attacking "good Christian people trying to help and do good in the world" and ask your congress person why they support someone who attacks Christians. (Republicans are going to hate being on the other end of this one.)

The Great Disconnect: Why Pro-Lifers See Pro-Choicers as Literal Monsters
Tumblr media
When You Think You’re Fighting for ‘Rights’ But They See You as the Devil in Yoga Pants
There’s no middle ground in the abortion debate—just two groups staring at each other across the moral apocalypse, each convinced the other is batshit crazy. But here’s where it gets real interesting:
Pro-lifers don’t just disagree with pro-choicers. They don’t just think they’re misguided.
No, no, no—they see them as full-blown, selfish, soulless, degenerate female monsters.
And honestly? From their point of view, it makes sense.
Let’s step inside the mind of a pro-lifer for a second. Not to agree, but to understand why they see pro-choicers the same way you’d look at a dude kicking a puppy for fun.
1. The “Kill a Baby, Call It Self-Care” Mentality
Imagine you’re a pro-lifer. You believe life begins at conception, that every fetus has a soul, and that killing it is no different than drowning a toddler in a bathtub.
Now, imagine scrolling Twitter and seeing a chick with blue hair posting:
💅 "Got my nails done, had my latte, and aborted that clump of cells! Self-care, ladies!"
To a pro-lifer, this is a horror movie. It’s like watching someone casually update their Instagram story:
📸 "Just poisoned Grandma for her inheritance! #Blessed"
In their minds, you’re not just wrong—you’re a literal death cult member bragging about body count like you’re collecting Pokémon.
2. The “Shout Your Abortion” PR Disaster
Now let’s get into the really unhinged part.
The Shout Your Abortion movement told women to be loud and proud about their terminations. From a pro-life perspective, this is like watching someone remix genocide into a TED Talk.
Think about it: If you truly believe abortion is murder, then a woman gleefully “shouting her abortion” is no different than a dude wearing a “Shout Your School Shooting” T-shirt.
This isn’t debate to them. This isn’t politics. This is straight-up serial killer energy being marketed as feminism.
3. “B-but What About the Men?!”
Oh, but it gets worse. Because pro-lifers don’t just see women celebrating abortion—they see them acting like it’s some kind of empowering flex.
Picture this:
A guy gets a girl pregnant. He says, "Nah, I don’t wanna be a dad," and ghosts her. Society calls him a deadbeat loser.
A girl gets pregnant. She says, "Nah, I don’t wanna be a mom," and gets an abortion. Society calls her brave.
To pro-lifers, this isn’t equality. It’s feminist hypocrisy on crack. You wanna be equal to men? Cool. That means taking responsibility like them too.
But instead, they see modern women happily skipping down the "Do Whatever the Fuck I Want" road while men are expected to shut up and pay up.
4. Abortion as “Plan C” (After Bad Decisions and Birth Control Fails)
Then there’s the fact that abortion has become the backup plan to the backup plan.
Plan A: Don’t sleep with dudes you don’t trust.
Plan B: Use protection.
Plan C: Fuck it, let’s just get an abortion!
To pro-lifers, abortion isn’t some tragic, rare necessity. It’s a get-out-of-jail-free card for women who made reckless decisions and don’t feel like dealing with the consequences.
Imagine watching someone speed drunk through a school zone, hit a kid, then casually sue the school for “not having a better fence.”
That’s how pro-lifers see pro-choicers. Not as people making difficult choices, but as reckless degenerates shamelessly sidestepping responsibility.
5. "If You Wouldn’t Kill a Puppy..."
And then there’s the biggest, most frustrating argument pro-lifers have against pro-choicers:
🐶 "If we put a puppy in your womb instead of a fetus, you’d be pro-life instantly."
The same people screaming "Free Palestine!" and crying over factory farming will swipe left on their own flesh and blood like it’s a bad Tinder match.
Tell a pro-choicer they should feel bad for terminating a pregnancy, and they’ll say "My body, my choice!"
But tell them "Hey, maybe let’s not mass-exterminate baby seals," and suddenly they’re gluing themselves to the freeway in protest.
To pro-lifers, this double standard is pure insanity.
You wouldn’t microwave a kitten, but you’ll crush a fetus for being inconvenient? Yeah, okay, lady.
Final Thoughts: Monsters vs. Monsters
The real disconnect here is that pro-choicers see abortion as personal autonomy, while pro-lifers see it as a straight-up war crime.
And once you see someone as a baby-killing, morality-free gremlin who laughs in the face of what you consider sacred?
There’s no conversation left to have.
So while pro-choicers are out here chanting "My body, my choice!"
Pro-lifers are looking at them like, "Nah, bitch, you're a walking horror movie."
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why the divide isn’t closing anytime soon.

I have to laugh in contempt at people calling anti-choice women hypocritical for having abortions when they call themselves pro-choice and...wish for anti-choice women to be forced to give birth. Like...you’re the same. You’re exactly like them. No! you cry, they DESERVE it! It’s different! That’s what they fucking think about other women, you dumb shit. Some of you call yourself pro-choice because it’s the cool lefty thing to do, but you aren’t actually. It’s all performative. When I say I’m pro-choice when it comes to abortion rights, I fucking mean it. Even for women I would otherwise like to strangle. I will NEVER. EVER. wish forced birth or rape on any woman. Especially not over fucking words, holy shit.

So there goes another youtuber that I am no longer going to be subscribed to.
I'm sorry but if you are going to about the student protests and say nothing about the rampant and widespread antisemitism that is a part of said protests then you are not serious.
If you are going to be talking about Israel and it's actions and your only source is Al Jazeera then you are not serious.
And if your final conclusion is that both USA political parties are the same, both presidential nominees are the same and so you won't be voting then you are not serious.
When you have a platform the things you say and do have consequences. Advocating to not vote or even just rationalizing why you won't vote is dangerous even at the best of times when the GOP is one of the two parties in this country. But this is not the best of times and so it is beyond dangerous to doing that.
Especially when Trump is one of the nominees and he is some one who has no interest in rules, checks and balances, or really anything other then total unlimited power.
The reality is that by not voting millions of Americans rights and lives are risk. Access to abortion, civil liberties, any notion of curtailing police brutality, queer rights, same sex marriage, trans rights, and so much more the I can list.
That is what is being endangered because you refuse to vote, something which already is a privilege.
Because lets not forget that 1) many people all over the world do not have the this right or in many countries like Russia for example they may call it voting, but it is not really voting when the winner is already decided beforehand
2) there are people in the USA who can not vote like for example undocumented people, do you think that not voting will protect them and their rights.
Frankly the whole not voting thing sits on foundation made of hypocrisy which is about a useful as building a house on quicksand.
I'm so sick and tired and also disgusted by leftists refusal to condemn antisemitism, to actual educated themselves on both antisemitism and Israel, Palestine, and the history. As well this whole refusal to vote thing.
I'm also so disgusted and really tired of bullshit hypocrisy when it comes to antisemitism. The way that leftists will not examine their own biases, systemic and endemic antisemitism, just how far back antisemitism goes and just how many things have roots in antisemitism, and more.
If you would like you watch the video for yourself you can do so here.

Kamala Harris promises to carve out exception to filibuster to codify Roe v. Wade
In a significant policy announcement (and departure from Joe Biden’s policy), Kamala Harris promised to support an exception to the Senate filibuster to allow passage of a bill codifying the protections for reproductive rights previously recognized in Roe v. Wade. See Politico, Kamala Harris backs ending filibuster for abortion rights legislation. [Note to experts on the filibuster: I am using the term in the popular sense, to describe a cloture vote.]
There is a great deal of confusion surrounding the filibuster and what it means to create an exception to the Senate rule. Indeed, the Politico headline, above, misstates what Kamala Harris proposed. She did not propose to “end” the filibuster for abortion rights legislation, but merely to create an exception in a rule that is riddled with exceptions.
Before discussing the hypocrisy that surrounds the opposition to creating an exception to the filibuster, let’s skip to the most important part first: Despite popular belief to the contrary, it is possible to create an exception the filibuster with only 51 votes in the Senate. The complicated procedure is known as the “nuclear option,” but has been used in the recent past. Mitch McConnell created an exception to the filibuster for Supreme Court nominations when he wanted to jam Trump's reactionary justices through the Senate nomination process.
So, the important point is that Kamala Harris can restore the protections of Roe v. Wade with a 50-member Democratic caucus (which would include independents who caucus with Democrats). But for safety’s sake, Democrats should aim for 52 or 53 votes to pass the protections of Roe v. Wade as federal legislation. We must therefore focus our efforts on defending every seat (Senators Tester (MT) and Brown (OH)) and capturing new seats (Colin Allred (TX) and Debbie Mucarsel-Powell (FL)).
Let’s get some common misconceptions out of the way. See, the excellent article by The Brennan Center, The Case Against the Filibuster | Brennan Center for Justice (October 30, 2020).
The filibuster rule is NOT in the Constitution. Indeed, there is a strong argument that it is unconstitutional.
The Senate filibuster rule did not exist for the first 129 years after the Constitution was ratified. Even then, it was used for the first several decades of its existence to speed the passage of legislation, not to block it.
The filibuster does not “protect the rights of the minority.” To the contrary, the Constitution presumes that action by the Senate requires only a simple majority, with exceptions for super-majorities for treaties, convictions after impeachment, and overriding vetoes by the President The filibuster denies the rights of the majority expressly recognized by the Constitution.
The Senate is designed to be an anti-democratic institution by giving disproportionate representation to small states. Layering on an additional undemocratic feature (the filibuster) grants extreme power over all legislation to 20% of the population. The filibuster thus does violence to the vision of the Framers of the Constitution.
Exceptions to the filibuster were recently created in 2013 and 2017 to allow federal judicial nominations, including Supreme Court justices, to be enacted by a simple majority. Budget bills are not subject to the filibuster.
Since 1960, the increasing use of the filibuster has drastically reduced the productivity of the Senate. See the report by The Brennan Center.
In short, the filibuster is an antidemocratic, unconstitutional, productivity-killing tool that has been used to suppress voting rights and deny protection of rights to American citizens in the minority by exalting the partisan interests of the political party in the minority in the Senate—which was never the intention of the Framers.
Kamala Harris’s proposal to create an exception to the filibuster is a major policy announcement that will help move women closer to their rightful status as equal citizens under the Constitution. That should have been the headline story today. But unbelievably, the NYTimes ran with this headline: Manchin Won’t Endorse Harris After Her Call to End Filibuster Over Abortion Rights.
What?! The Times subordinates the major policy announcement that will promote the equality of all women to the political story of a has-been Senator who won’t be around to vote on Kamala Harris’s proposal on the filibuster. Shameful and disgraceful journalism at its worst! You really must make an effort to be that bad. The Times doesn’t care about women’s equality but is hot and bothered about what Joe Manchin is thinking. Did I say shameful and disgraceful? Unbelievable!
And for everyone who will write to me to say that the reporters don’t write the headlines, the Times editors and publishers are responsible for the headline writers. Apparently, the editors and publishers want trashy, clickbait headlines. Did I say shameful and disgraceful?
Trump has crossed another line
Trump gave a speech on Monday that broke a new barrier: He blew past racist, antisemitic, and misogynistic barriers to plumb the depths of “creepiness.” In addressing the issue of reproductive rights, Trump appeared to be trying to “hypnotize” women by telling them that everything was fine, that their eyelids were growing heavy, and that they will cluck like chickens when he is elected. (For those who missed my tone, that last sentence used the literary device of sarcasm.)
See Talking Points Memo, Behold Trump’s New Creeptastic Quotes On Abortion. See also Aaron Rupar, Public Notice, Trump's pitch to women is getting weirder and weirder.
As noted in TPM and Public Notice, Trump said the following in an effort to convince women that he isn’t responsible for denying them reproductive freedom:
“I always thought women liked me. But the fake news keeps saying women don’t like me.” “You will no longer be abandoned, lonely, or scared.” “You will no longer be in danger.” “You will be protected, and I will be your protector.” “Women will be happy, healthy, confident and free.” “You will no longer be thinking about abortion.”
Trump's comments are patronizing, offensive, weird, and creepy. When added to the comments of JD Vance and GOP candidate for the Senate Bernie Moreno (that women over 50 shouldn’t care about reproductive rights), it is incontestable that the GOP platform is anti-woman. But that fact has been clear for some time.

Made the decision to watch the presidential debate tonight. Making a live list of some of my takeaways
Trump is a good speaker but damn he's spouting a lot of bullshit
Biden is doing good staying on topic (for the most part) and telling the relative truth but this man can barely public speak it's a little hard to watch (give him some water please)
Trump supports giving Roe v Wade to the states and on allowing abortions in the event of rape or health concern for the mother (but still defends getting rid of RvW in favor of getting it to the states); Biden wants to ensure abortion rights for everyone regardless
Trump is so focused on bashing Biden and fearmongering that he's avoiding answering the debate questions
Trump is very anti-Palestine, Biden is in favor of supporting Israel and trying to establish peace in the Middle East (unclear if he would support the Palestinian state as an existing country)
Damn ok Trump is still avoiding the debate questions this is getting hard to watch
January 6th oo boi I need alcohol for this
Gonna have to fact check so much of Trumps BS after this can't wait to read the news tomorrow
CONVICTED FELON MENTION BY BIDEN
CONVICTED FELON MENTION OF THE MODERATOR
And also convicted felon mention of Hunter Biden yep knew that would come up
Trump says the system is rigged and he did nothing wrong regarding his conviction yet also says the system was right with convicting Hunter Biden.....the hypocrisy I swear
There's gonna be so many memes after this debate I can't wait
Annnnd Trump avoiding the topic again claiming the Charlottesville story is faked (again can't wait for the fact check to come out after this)
Oh good a break good thing they did I think I'm getting a migraine
Weird they're running political ads during the debate feel like I should just be watching my silly local car commercials
And ANOTHER instance of Trump avoiding the debate question to rebute Biden like dude just stay on topic god damn
Alright I'm caving it's alcohol time
Finally getting to the question yayyyyyy
Yes Joe call him outtt
I should just have the dictionary definition of Fearmongering printed out or at least displayed on the screen every time ole Donny opens his mouth
Biden wants the wealthy to pay their damn taxes
Do Americans have better healthcare coverage right now??? I mean the whole system is just a mess Idk if you can claim that right now Joe
(Side note pleaseee let them talk about student debt)
I should do a shot every time Trump avoids the question and starts his statement by bashing his opponent
I stopped watching the Shibuya Incident arc of JJK to turn on this debate and somehow this is more upsetting
"We have the finest military in the world" ok Biden weird flex but ok
I thought this question was about childcare why are we talking about the military
I'm not going into work tomorrow maybe I should switch from a seltzer to wine. Or rum. Or straight vodka. Unlike American politics I have options
TRUMP AVOIDED THE QUESTION AGAIN SHOT TIME
You went from addiction to immigration again Don I'll send ya some neuroscience papers to read educate yourself before you speak
Spilling tea on both candidates now
Yes Biden you are old try and assuage the concerns you're going to keel over in office instead of talking about computer chip jobs
Yes Trump you are old thank you at least for answering a question for once this debate (but laughing at how he's talking about golf that's not as big a flex as you think)
"I'm happy to play golf if you can carry your own bag" Is Joe Biden trying to settle this debate on the golf course? Is this a high school sports movie?????
I thought these mics were supposed to be muted why are they all talking over each other I thought we could avoid this
Classic politics can't answer a yes or no question
Yes Joe drag himmmm there was no evidence the election was faked
Another break???? Alrighty
Closing statements??? It's almost over????
Biden: tax the rich if you make over 400k to solve inflation and debt and social security, Trump wants to tax you more, handle lead pipes and health issues and lower inflation
Trump: bashes Biden and blames him for all the conflict in Ukraine, Palestine, and USA; more military, more tax cuts, claiming he helped make more jobs or his policys made the jobs in Bidens administration, pro-veteran
Debate analysis time? I thought we were done
Ok I'm going to cut my notes here. My thoughts overall: thought Biden had good points but I'm not super convinced of his mental state for another 4 years. Hopefully he surrounds himself with competent people who can help him get work done. Thought Trump was a good speaker but that's terrifying, considering most of what he was saying was incorrect or avoidant of the question being asked. Wish the moderators had questions about student debt and made the candidates address the questions instead of just the repetitive asking. I did like the choice to have no audience and mics that silenced between candidates (surprised that hasn't been a thing longer)
Anyways form your own opinions, but please go vote and make your voice heard. Have a good night yall
Edit: caught a little of the analysis and thought this quote was darkly hilarious and perfectly summizes American politics right now:
"The most meaningful exchange between the candidates was about their golf swing"

John Hagee
Tumblr media
Physique: Rotund/Heavyset, but with an ass that's a shrine to sin. Height: 5'6", but who cares when you're eyeing up the real estate behind.
John Charles Hagee (born April 12, 1940) is the quintessential American pastor and televangelist, having founded John Hagee Ministries and serving as the senior pastor of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas. He's also the founder of Christians United for Israel, but let's be honest, it's his other controversies that make him a household name – from his comments on Catholics, Jews, Islam, homosexuality, to even Hurricane Katrina.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You've got to love/hate televangelists. They're often charlatans, adulterers, thieves, and fake prophets, but damn if they don't look good doing it. Hagee, with his short, chubby frame, silver hair, and that suit that hugs him in all the right places, he's like a walking, talking temptation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, the hypocrisy - married to a younger woman after an adulterous affair from his own congregation, which is rich considering his quote, "Christians don’t steal or lie, they don’t get divorced or have abortions." He's got five kids in total, three with his current wife, and thirteen grandkids. His son, Matthew, not only following in his father's footsteps but also inherited that divine ass.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And let's not forget, Hagee's wealth - $5 million in net worth, all while condemning worldly possessions.
I should hate him for everything he stands for, but that ass? It's like a divine call to sin. The thought of him, all righteous indignation, while I'm fantasizing about bending him over his own pulpit, it's the ultimate act of defiance. Imagine the outrage, the scandal, if he knew someone wanted to fuck him in every way that would make his congregation faint.
Tumblr media
Picture him, in that tight suit, turning around to reveal what's been the subject of many a forbidden thought, all while preaching about purity. The hypocrisy, the scandal, the sheer audacity of it all - it's enough to make you want to commit every sin in the book.
