Honestly for all the "am I pushing this too far? should I pull back?" moments I have working on Thralls' outline, I am often reminded that this is actually a pretty charitable interpretation of what may have happened between OoT and TP....

I can't help but feel sorry for BoTW Link, if only for one reason:
While green is the traditional color of the Hero, blue has always been more personal for any given Link. Blue lobster tunic. Blue Zora tunic/armor serving as an engagement gift. Blue scarf on top of the green garb — in an army, flailing your clothes like this is rather bold. Blue dress of the funny girl at Koholint and of beloved sister. Blue glow of the fairy that has finally become your guardian.
How tragic it is then, that this was the chosen color of the Champions' uniform. Stripped of privacy, now it's another reminder about the duty that lays on Link's shoulders — and it's not like green is absolved of that role either, with the Set of the Wild and all.
In that regard, OoT Link being raised among green-clad Kokiri, but having the heroic context of the color outweight association with home is just as sad.

So... I still haven't forgotten the ZToT AU I created, but I have a lot of wips in progress and I don't know which one to finish first so I'm drawing everything at once... Grhatgah ! ฅ(>ω<ฅ)
I'm currently doing the line art on a tablet, but it's still messy so... Here is the sketch of Soldier/Captain Construct! Moon (Don't mind to the fact that he's supposed to be holding a zonaite sword in his hand, but it's floating mysteriously beside him.) (=• ▽ •= ;)

A mod for Hyrule Warriors DE that makes allied captains just marginally more durable than wet tissue paper would be great, actually

This is the tunic that formally marks Link as a Champion of the Hyrulean royal family, now with added improvements well-suited for travel. When Zelda saw the wear and tear of Link’s old tunic, she ordered a new version enhanced with protective armor.
Designer’s Note: In Breath of the Wild, it was established that Zelda sewed the royal blue fabric worn by the Champions herself, imbuing this clothing with her prayers for their protection. This new version of the Champion’s Tunic similarly contains Zelda’s wishes; but, for good measure, she also ordered it to be fortified for Link’s protection. We wanted this design to convey the idea of Zelda commissioning master craftsmen to adapt facets of the armor worn by Hylian soldiers into the sort of high-quality equipment that would represent Hyrule’s technological recovery.

Alternate "Warriors meets the chain" take.
Captain Link stared silently at the destruction, then at the three young men being held at sword point by his soldiers. He studied who appeared to be the eldest, with the odd marks on his face and towering over the other two boys. One of the boys looked like he was about to spit in Link's face. The other looked embarrassed. Swallowing a sigh, Link turned back to the wreckage.
"So," he said. Fire crackled in the distance. Several soldiers ran with buckets of water toward the destruction. Several others watched them go and waved. One saw Link looking at them and waved an apple in his direction. They didn't have apples fifteen minutes ago. Link's headache slowly worsened as he shook his head at the offer.
"We saw these brats destroying the fort!" a soldier exclaimed. His cheeks were plump with baby fat and his eyes were bright. Link knew he had been that young once, but right then, it felt like a very long time ago. "We captured them, Captain!"
"Us!" The one who looked like he was five seconds away from violence glared at the soldier. The soldier flinched back. This time, Link bit the inside of his cheek to keep from sighing. "Didn't you see the bokoblins, you idiot!"
Movement from the direction of the fort. Link saw the eldest of the trio facepalm and wished he could do the same. "Jenner, please go stop the soldiers from using the fire to roast their lunch. We don't know what's in that fire. Tono, were their bokoblins in the fort?"
The young soldier blanched. Link had remembered his name correctly. One positive for the day. "Ah, I'm not sure, Captain. I just got here."
The other soldiers mumbled. The look the embarrassed young man gave Link was filled with an amazing amount of pity. Link gave in and squeezed the bridge of his nose.
"Right," he managed. "So you ran in, saw a fight, and went after the Hylians before looking to see if there were monsters in the area? And you decided several swords would work against what looks like a very powerful fire rod?"
All of the soldiers stiffened. They looked at the fire rod still in the young man's hand. The young man glared at them. The fire rod gleamed dangerously.
Link's headache worsened. He swallowed his sigh. And a pained whine. "All right. Here's what we're going to do. Lower your swords and go help with the blaze. Please, for the love of the Goddess, wait until you're done and then roast your lunch over a regular campfire. I'll deal with these three."
Tono didn't seem to have learned a thing. "But Captain! We don't even know who they are!"
Link broke. He sighed. "Of course I do." He turned to them and raised an eyebrow. "Link, right?"
The tall one offered a smile which looked more like a grimace. The fiery one glared. The last offered a sheepish wave.
"Soldiers," Link said drolly, "meet the Heroes of Hyrule."

Let me just preface this by saying everyone is allowed to have their own opinions, TOTK is a really fun game, and I'm glad that other people have been able to enjoy the story as well.
...But I'm being dead serious with my complaints about the narrative being 100% imperialist propaganda. And I'm getting really tired of people replying to those posts by saying it can't be imperialist propaganda, because imperialism is bad and the game says that Hyrule is the good guys.
Like, guys. That's not the argument you think it is. Yes, I am aware that the game tells us Ganondorf is a flat, one dimensional character with no ambitions, interests or motivations beyond destroying the entire world for the hell of it, and also it's totally not racist because he's green, not brown like literally every other member of his race. Unfortunately literally all of these things are kind of the entire goddamn problem.
See, the thing is, everyone trying to make these arguments is accepting the game at face value. Hyrule is the perfect and almighty nation chosen by the demigod Zonai, and whose royal family has the right to rule due to their divine heritage. The other races exist to serve the glory of Hyrule, and they're happy to do it. Ganondorf is pure evil and must be stopped at any costs.
But that's not how anything works. The story informing me that Hyrule is the ultimate good that has done nothing wrong is the whole goddamn reason why I don't trust Hyrule at all. There's always more of a reason than that. And the game fucking suggests there was more going on! Ganondorf mentions Rauru has repeatedly 'invited' the Gerudo to become Rauru's subjects, and let's be clear here, it doesn't matter how peaceful those 'invitations' were, when the guy who owns every single magical nuclear missile in the world repeatedly demands you surrender to him, there's always going to be an implied threat of 'do it or get magically nuked'. Just that power difference alone shows us exactly why Ganon would feel threatened enough to invade. It's because Rauru was holding a gun to his head, and Ganon was expected to just trust that he'd never pull the trigger.
And yes, even if it wasn't intentional Hyrule was always threatening to wipe out the other nations, considering the entire royal family walked around openly wearing their magical nukes as cute accessories. If they couldn't be safely hidden away, there wouldn't be four other secret stones sitting untouched in a vault until the last second.
But that's never acknowledged. Of course Hyrule is the only nation with the right to the secret stones; even if other races get to touch them, they can only have them if they swear eternal blind loyalty and servitude to the glory of King Rauru and Princess Zelda. Ganon wanting to have one magical nuclear bomb out of a stockpile of eight of them is proof that he's dangerous and evil. I mean my god, what if he just walked around all day wearing a magical nuke and using its power for his own benefit, that would be terrifying. It's only okay when Hylian royalty does it.
And you can't argue that Ganon betrayed his own people, considering we don't get to know fucking anything about his relationship with his people. He's shows as the leader of the Gerudo, we're told he's a hero to his people, he has soldiers that loyally follow him into battle... and then oh nevermind, they all hate him and will spend eternity trying to atone for sharing a race with him. How did the entire race do a complete 180 in the span of at most a few months? Who cares, what's important is that now they accept they exist to serve Hyrule so they get to be the good guys now and we don't need to know why they were following Ganondorf, or why they stopped following him.
Basically my point is that yeah, I fucking know how the game insists everything went down. That's the entire reason I think it's imperialist propaganda, because the entire story feels like Hylian propaganda to conceal and justify some horrific atrocities that caused all of this. I literally do not believe that I'm getting the story through reliable narrators, especially considering that the only people allowed to actually tell me the story are all the characters that have the most reasons to be heavily biased in favour of Hyrule.
When the game shows me protagonists that have a massive amount of power and control over the entire world, then says the bad guy doesn't like that system just because he's evil, and literally nothing and nobody in the game says anything to oppose that take, I have some questions about what the fuck the story isn't telling me. And I'd really appreciate it if people would stop trying to argue with me just by telling me to stop asking those questions.
