And also, he is probably pretty touch starved because of his rather unpleasant reputation

Imagine his surprise when he saw you waiting in front of Mostro Lounge

It was almost like a dream, the person he had always admired finally standing in front of him

hmm.... probably the series of mistakes that lead to her getting separated from her original family (context: this was during a demon attack)! some of it was probably just pure bad luck, but she almost certainly went chasing after prey that she should have let escape, too deep in her rage to care, and it ended up costing her her entire life up to that point. she hasn't "fixed" it in a traditional sense, but she's found a new family, even if she still pines after her old one sometimes.

monster: Is your OC monstrous in any way? Is there something that makes them monstrous? Are they aware of their own monstrosity? Do they accept it or reject it?

OH FOR SURE. watchful eyes is a 7 ft tall and buff as hell hyena woman who, in battle, is fueled by pure rage. this rage is at the thought that someone could hurt the people she loves, but it is rage nonetheless. she even has more powerful jaws than a standard gnoll, capable of inflicting horrific damage if she bites down hard enough. she is Very aware of all of this about herself, but she considers all of this her greatest strength. her love is so deep is has given her the power to kill, and she uses that power wisely.

(except for one time, when she was briefly possessed and almost smashed one of her teammates to sludge. she missed those attacks and they had a fantastic moment together but the idea that her love-borne rage could be turned against the very people it is supposed to protect terrifies her)

“Tell me of home.”

Sovereign Glut’s words echo through your mind, and you can feel the spores attempt to reach out to hold onto the memories that have such a title. You, Dox, haven’t thought of home for a long time. In your heart, you weren’t even sure if you had a home to begin with. 

While prior to your adventures, you could have claimed Baldur’s Gate to have been your home. But truly, that wasn’t the case. You were only a citizen within those walls for a short amount of time, and while you practically drank in that city like fine wine…that place wasn’t your home. You could barely call yourself a Baldurian and the only reason you felt comfortable enough to do so was because you managed to win quite a few bar fights. Being trained as The Lady of Silver’s paladin from a young age had some perks. But no…as much as you tried- Baldur’s Gate wasn’t home. Not yet, at least. 

You thought about the woods you grew up in. You could barely remember it now–as if a faint memory. That wasn’t your home either…you were orphaned at a young age and sent to live in an isolated community. The people who raised you…used you. They trained you to be their offering to Selûne. Her perfect warrior…her perfect cleric...your priest's perfect-

Only after you broke the oath those people made you take, do you realize that the goddess had nothing to do with your upbringing. Your anger was misplaced. But still…home did not reside there.

So..what is home to you, little dove?

Your hardened eyes glance over to your party;  Gale, and Lae’zel,had trailed off to do gods know what. From where you stood, you can see the two bickering over..something. Gale must have gotten a little too interested in the local fauna. Strangely he and Lae’zel had developed a friendship built on one getting into trouble while the other got them out. Much like a mouse finds companionship with a cat. You can’t help but let out a gentle chuckle upon seeing the gith take off her gloves to smack the man in the back of the head for getting his face too close to some mushrooms. His body goes flying forward and the spores erupt around him. The coughing noise he makes sounds like a mixture of a hyena’s laugh and a sad boar.

After a moment, you realized that a third member was not in your field of vision. That was until you felt a hand come down on your shoulder. You find yourself glancing to your right, Astarion suddenly appearing beside you. He looks..bored. And tired. His eyes softened in a way that you never got to see too often. You can’t help but look at the lines of his face-studying them in a way you really haven’t been able to before. The longer you look, the more your stomach churns in a way you’re not used to. 

“What is the hold up?” You hear him sigh. His voice lulls in a way that makes your ears turn red. For the first time you find yourself happy to be wearing the stupid wooden crown. You never realized how nice his hand on your shoulder felt.

You shouldn’t be feeling like this.

You’ve acknowledged your infatuation for the vampire a long time ago. He was beautiful–and he knew it. You didn’t have to tell him. But his looks or the ‘are we about to die’ and ‘holy shit we didn’t die’ sex weren’t the only things that caused your heart to stutter when you spoke to him.

Astarion and you had this unspoken friendship–one that developed from a connection you formed as you both begin to divulge in your pasts. Also the way that you both were just...chaotic. You both understood each other…Astarion was the first person to actually see you and you were the first to see him.

But it wasn’t until now..until you were being asked by this stupid fucking mushroom what your home was did your heart pound more than usual. And what Astarion seeing you actually meant.

Your mind flutters from place to place, and you can feel the spores mingle their way into memories but…fantasies of what home could be. A place in Baldur’s Gate, a warm bed…Astarion in that bed with you. Not because of your lust or your bonding but because of something so much worse. Something that you fear more than any devil, or creature you could face. The word itself makes you want to vomit. You knew you would do anything for Astarion since the Grove but knowing the reason-

Your eyes catch for a moment, his vibrant red ones pierce into your dull purple. You can see his pupils dart for a moment-he’s gotten to know you so well. He knows your stares and what they mean but this one causes his eyebrows to raise. He looks... concerned?

Fuck.

You quickly look away from him, moving to the side so his hand slides off of your shoulder. Astarion gives you a confused look, and his eyes soften as if the act may have hurt him. However, you’re refusing to acknowledge it. Your heart is beating too fast in your chest.

“My home is where I travel, and we need to set up camp now,” You quickly explain to Glut. “We can avenge your Circle after we rest. “

You give the strange figure a nod, before excusing yourself to grab Gale and Lae’zel from their mission to piss off the other myconids.

“What the hell was that?” You hear Astarion question no one in particular as you try to expand the distance between you both. However, the Sovereign Glut responds.

“A heartbroken song.”

this is an incredibly random series of thoughts borne of me spinning tpg 42-4 around in my brain (as one does) i am so sorry for how disorganized this is going to get

“Taken over?” Nanami parrots, and he’s got a bad, bad feeling about this. “By what?”

it's so interesting that nanami uses 'what' rather than 'who' in tpg 42's first question about sukuna, because that framing kinda ties into the fact that until bullying sukuna club starts, the ff perceives him as a monster, a villain from a fairy tale -- and understandably so, because that's all his actions have shown. and this snippet reinforces this idea:

What can Nanami even say? Calling Sukuna a monster is beyond the word pointless.

because at this point, all sukuna is is the one who's nearly killed both his sons and his best friend's husband

“To hear the helpless screams of burning lungs, watching weak insects abandon others in attempt to save themselves...then of course, the really annoying ones try to save everyone.” Sukuna’s hyena grin turns bitter. “I hate heroes.”

OOOOH this is interesting. hold on im gonna talk/theorize more about this later

so. in 42 and 43, all we see are what sukuna says and does, tying into him being mostly framed as either a monster or a comic relief-type character/the butt of the joke; there are hints of sukuna's Tragic Backstory present, but they're fairly vague so far

and then. 44. aka the one where we actually get into sukuna's head. before i even begin pointing out specific quotes, it's so interesting how you've managed to completely flip the readers' perceptive on sukuna, from something that matches the ff's to a more nuanced? view, where the effects of the tragedy that made him who he is today are more clearly visible

Sukuna is stronger than him, of course, and their circumstances aren’t entirely alike, but they’re similar enough to make Sukuna’s skin crawl. And it’s not even his own skin.   The man is too naive. If he ain’t careful, history’s gonna repeat itself.

this terrifies me, but it's also making me think of some of the Backstory Theories from the tpg discord hmmmmmmm [sound of thoughts bouncing around my brain like the dvd logo]

OHHHHHH this reminds me of this quote from getou pov in tpg 22:

‘Please,’ one of them had begged, clutching the hem of his crimson-soaked pants. ‘You can kill me, but please spare my son--’

which i think is particularly interesting for two reasons: 1) getou and sukuna parallels 2) idk if this was intentional (knowing you it probably was) but a significant portion of getou's arc past that point ^ has to do with his son, and his own concept of son-hood (is that a word 💀) in regards to both his birth parents and touji. is it possible that sukuna's backstory/future character development has to do with the concept of heroism?

DONT APOLOGIZEEEE I LOVE LONG COMMENTS AND LONG MESSAGES AND EVERYTHING especially when it's about sukuna. i could deadass talk about him for DAYS and it wouldnt be enough. hes my special.

anyway--

you hit on a lot of interesting points here!! framing sukuna as "what" rather than "who" in nanami's first question was deliberate, a way to contrast how unexpected sukuna's incarnation was. "who" usually indicates some degree of sentience or personification, something almost every curse severely lacks. so right off the bat, the fam wasn't ready for what was about to befall them.

nanami's perception of sukuna is exceptionally bad, especially since his sons were sukuna's major victims. but he realized that in order for toge to stop being afraid of his own brother, a somewhat, uh, unconventional approach would be necessary: thus, bullying sukuna club was born.

it's also important to note that despite treating him like a joke and laughing at his dramatic, violent declarations, the fam actually does still very much see him as a monster. they're doing this because they know it's the only way they can actually get to him, especially since fear and others' terrified perceptions of him are part of what makes him so damn strong. so they laugh at him because it's far better than the alternative -- that said, if one doesn't think about the fact that he's actually carried out the atrocities he colorfully monologues about, they are kinda funny.

.......aaaand then we see the inside of sukuna's head and realize oh no, this is an incredibly self-aware, sad, wet man who desperately needs a hug but would kill (almost) anyone who actually tried to give him one. yet there are still traces of that monster in his thoughts, since that's what Tragic Backstory made him become.

also aughh yeah, getou and sukuna parallels were DEFINITELY intentional. those two have a lot in common, and as 43 revealed there are many parallels with gojo too. you were right to pick up on the notes of sukuna's revulsion towards heroics: perhaps it's something he struggled with in the past. we shall see.......

while getou's redemption arc had much to do with atonement, i'd say sukuna's is about healing. this man has really, really been thru it. sometimes i wonder if his backstory is too sad but at this point we're in too deep

Seriously though I like whatever Cheezi and Banzai have in going. Banzai was the one who voiced that it’s not a good idea to bring the sickly cub in because he was left behind for a reason. Likely did not even try to get close to him because it felt obvious Cheezi was going to die in the next few hours or days, but it does not happen so he babysitting for the first time and stares down at this cub who is only skin and bones and is like “…listen if you die now while I am watching you so help me because I am not going to tell Ed the bad news”

And it’s like. Cheezi just doesn’t die no matter how many days pass or how bad his condition gets

His condition ends up improving, then goes back to being bad, it has its ups and downs and eventually Cheezi is a bit more hyper and just wants to get to know EVERYTHING which is obviously better than taking care of a half dying cub where you worry you have to tell Ed the bad news but Cheezi is such?? A hazard to himself at times?? So he’s like CHEEZI DON’T ED WILL KILL ME IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO YOU ON MY WATCH

But he’s the grumpy uncle who also warmed up to him.

Understands his nonverbal cues. Cheezi said his name first. Sees the vultures eating Cheezi’s leftovers and scoops the cub behind him before chasing them off. One of them pecks Cheezi’s head and Banzai’s like HOW DARE but cannot punish the bird further for it because it flies away. Still stands over Cheezi in protection and lowers his head to nudge him to tell him everything’s okay. Cheezi remains under him while they walk back, stands over Cheezi for protection while they are terrified of the eclipse, freaks out when Cheezi decides it’s a good idea to let his face sleep in a puddle, first instinct after getting hit with mud is to look for Cheezi

When they reunite Banzai was actually excited, tells him what they have been up to, gives him a playful shove also has still that thing in going where he scoops Cheezi closer to his side, takes it really hard when Cheezi does not remember them, clearly hurt by it because now he feels like nothing they did together meant anything to him, Cheezi loves his jokes and it inspires him to come up with more of his own, Banzai was like you know what yeah I was just making a statement but let’s just kill all the lions, tells Cheezi to take revenge on all the zebras in the name of hyena kind, goes on a long rant as to why Scar cannot be trusted

And that doesn’t even cover half of it from all the ooc plotting

Banzai is the grumpy uncle who you have to watch out for his actions rather than his words and I love it

He went from ‘bad idea to take that cub in’ to ‘if anything happens to that cub I will kill everyone in the pridelands’ to ‘hey you wanna cause trouble together’

I don't write with your ivy nearly enough but I definitely want to. So here's some headcanons. How I see us developing them in the future. Some ideas for their canon. Put it under a read more cause I went in depth and rambly.

I see it as being a mix of harley's animated series and btas canon plus pre new 52 stuff with my harley. So them having the backstory of meeting and becoming friends back when harley was still a doctor at the asylum. Like in the pilot episode harley was her og self. Classic in her harlequin outfit except she wasn't sky diving into the vat of acid to make her skin like the joker's. She's still got her normal skin tone and just puts on clown makeup.

Their second meeting being the canon of the harley and ivy btas episode. Running into each other while robbing the same place. On a breakup with the joker she crashes with ivy for a while. I'd say like a few weeks to make a month and a half.

Where harley in her animated series left the joker for good after he chose batman over her and she came to that realization mine finally leaves the joker for good or atleast a long time in the aftermath of the mad love episode where the joker pushes her out the window of a four story building. Breaking almost every bone in her body and almost killing her.

She has the instinct to go back to him but terrified of actually dying goes into red's arms instead. Stays with her at her place while she tries being on her ownish. Atleast not being with the joker and trying to be more independent.

Unlike the canon of the show which I think has harley have a more anthero/hero role now both of them being badass villains together and live the harley and ivy episode them having a long term partnerships as villains have a lot of success robbing as well as terrorizing and killing. Definitely end up in the papers and on the news and joker's so pissed about it.

The joker being jealous but mainly cause he's possessive of harley and doesn't want anyone else having her.

Harley generally taking a long time to realize her feelings for red and even longer to confess. Her relationship with the joker makes her think she's bad at love.

When they do become an official couple they pull off a major crime spree to celebrate/announce it.

Small thing but frank hating her hyenas but he kinda just has to deal.

Not having clayface and king shark as her henchmen but the quintettes. It's a concept from her classic solo comic series. Basically henchmen who wear shirts in her signature black and rec color scheme with her face on them so people know who they work for.

It is immediately snatched up. If you are starving, you cannot be picky after all. One learns quickly to grab an opportunity when you live in the Outlands. Or to eat as fast as you can before someone else snatches it away - be that the lion guard or fighting with the clan over what little they have to begin with.

As he tears into it, his ears were at least perked up to keep some focus on the mandrill as she talks. Yeah, no doubt they are more on the edge, they make that clear all the time. A bit frustrating, really. It’s like these cubs don’t know how to relax once in a while or something. They have become more attentive, that*s for sure and it annoys him.

“Here? Ya don’t know how Janja gets when it comes to his territory, do ya?”

A slight tease. If it was only Janja they had to worry about it wouldn’t be so bad. Scar is worse. Not to mention all the other animals that suddenly just moved into their territory just for this cause - the hyenas had barely time for themselves. It was much more fun when it was just their kind. But she is lucky. Everyone else is at the meeting, Goigoi is watching his little ones and the crocodiles…probably trying not to dry up or something. Kenge only stuck around when Ushari needed him.

Though she makes a good point, they could just pretend they were fighting and that he was attempting to catch the intruder - although not really. The skinks are sharp when it came to their job and it was spooky - somehow he always feels like he’s being watched in his own home. If they see him all buddy-buddy with her first, Cheezi would need to be quick to come up with a lie.

“Scar? Nah, he’s insde the volcano. It’s everyone else ya gotta watch out for - ya just got lucky that they are at the meetin’.”

Maybe they should just try the Backlands. Nobody would notice there. No, wait. That’s where uncle and dad are living now. Banzai did say that hyena don’t need anyone but hyena so it’s likely that even he would not approve of their rather complicated friendship.

….Dad probably wouldn’t either.

Aw jeez, there are so many lies and secrets to keep from everyone. It’s rather stressful to keep them all up.

Cheezi paused with munching on his lunch, staring at his friend with a deadpan expression towards her. What…kind of question was that? He gives a slight snort.

“Do I like livin’ in a place where I'm forced to stay with barely any water or food and have to fight my clanmates over what little we already have?"

He lets out a cackle. Oh, that question was hilarious. Sorry, he does not mean to laugh but - you know, hyena thing.

“Why do ya think we constantly try to go into the Pridelands just to get kicked out again? Why do ya think we accepted Ushari’s offer to bring back Scar?”

Although he kept silent at the question in regards to Scar, ears pinned at his side. Maybe it is better if he does not answer that one. Scar was nothing but flat out terrifying with an incredibly bad temper - a scolding from Janja was much more pleasant to deal with, but Scar? No thanks.

Scar sounded promising at first, it’s easy to fall for his words. Somehow that lion knows how to be convincing. But as time went on? Cheezi was starting to have his doubts about him. Then what his uncle and Shenzi told him...

But he cannot tell her about them. What if she alerts Simba. What if he is gonna be separated from his father again. But….Makini is so different from all the other Pridelanders. How is someone like her friends with the lion guard or even a part of this place? Everyone is nothing but pompous and snotty around there. It doesn’t make sense. She is better than anyone else.

In the end what she suggested was just not her decision to make. Would he like to? Yes. But they are just going to get kicked out again.

“Besides, we lived in the Pridelands long before those lousy cubs were even born! We were there first!”

"Aw, sorry Cheezi, it's impala. Fuli let me have some from her hunt today." Makini did have to come up with some on the spot explanation for why she wanted this compared to her usual diet of cashews and bugs, but it worked out all the same.

Makini had wrapped the clump in leaves to make it both easier to carry and less conspicuous. She carefully unwraps it and hands it to Cheezi as he's talking.

She's considering his concerns thoroughly. They're valid, of course, and he's not exactly wrong.

"The Guard are on edge more than ever now. With Scar's return and all these Outlander attacks they're up almost all day and night just to defend the Pridelands!" even if it was just Cheezi on his own, hardly even a threat to the entire Guard, he'd still get kicked out. The two of them together? Makini's whole body shudders... she doesn't want to think about how they would react to that.

"I didn't want you to get chased out the Pridelands." she says softly, "I thought that if we ever got caught then it should be here, because at least that way you're not invading. I can just pretend to fight you off and run back to the Pridelands. Oh, but then I guess Scar's here, isn't he?" there's no way he'd want a member of his army be friends with Pridelander if he found out.

Then where else could they meet...?

Makini takes a brief pause to peruse their surrounds just as he did. It looked completely empty, and by extension, it looked... dead. The Outlands were grim, and scary. That volcano at its centre looms over a dying land that so many different animals call home regardless. It makes her sad, especially when her attention returns to the hyena who became her friend against all odds.

"Cheezi, do you... like living in the Outlands and working for Scar? I was just thinking... if you weren't and you lived in the Pridelands instead then we could hang out more. Without all the secrecy stuff." she didn't really like keeping secrets.

♡ leona didn't think you're that type of guy who becomes very scary when you're angry. you were pretty chill most of the time, so he didn't think that a "soft herbivore" like you could have a much more aggressive and violent side. so yeah, it would be an understatement to say that leona was shocked when he saw how you act when someone annoys you just a bit too much. 

♡ leona was looking for you everywhere and he even kinda started to get worried but he would never tell you that and he would never expect to see you yelling at another student and being extremely close to punching them. and what's with that scary face expression?? you're glaring at that student like they killed your whole family and you're about to avenge them! leona has never seen you being so angry, no, of course he knew that you also can feel that emotion even if you're a big softie, BUT LEONA FELT LIKE YOU'RE ABOUT TO ACTUALLY KILL THIS PERSON IN FRONT OF EVERYONE.

♡ o-okay, maybe leona should do something about this. you most likely have a reason to act this way and this person has probably done something very bad to make you so angry, but leona doesn't want you to hurt them.. only because it would ruin your reputation and make everything too complicated. otherwise, leona would just stand there and watch, that student probably deserved it. leona interrupts you two (though the person you were mad at was so scared, they couldn't say a word) and asks what's going on. and right when leona appears, you calm down (at least for a moment) and explain what happened while trying so hard not to punch that person. leona prepares himself and he thinks they insulted you or something like that, but.. ah. they stole your lunch.

♡ yeah, leona definitely expected something much worse. no, of course, stealing your lunch is bad, but you just.. you just looked so scary.. "really? oh, that's just how i always express my anger! is that not normal?" no, y/n, leona doesn't think so. but you scared that person so much that they apologized multiple times, while begging you to spare them and they returned your lunch, thankfully, they didn't have the time to eat it. and then they also realize that leona is your boyfriend. returning your lunch was a wise decision. and you instantly became your usual cheerful self the moment you got your lunch back. "yay! i just went through a lot today, everyone's been so annoying and then that idiot stole my food and.. yeah, that was the last straw, haha. now, do you wanna go and eat with me?" yeah, leona probably should go with you, but now he will be extra careful. you're already in a bad mood and leona doesn't think you'll go easy on him. but you acting so scary before was kinda hot he's not gonna lie

ruggie bucchi.

♡ ruggie thought that you'd never hurt a fly, you just were such a cool and chill guy, he wasn't sure if he has ever seen you get angry. he thought that if someone poured soup in your lap, you would probably apologize to that person. but then, one day, you and ruggie were hanging out, just having fun together and you suddenly heard a random student say these horrible things about ruggie not being the best boyfriend for you and that you could've chosen someone else, not this "sneaky hyena guy that no one can trust". oh, looks like they're gonna die soon.

♡ you walked to that student, forced them to look at you and grabbed their arm, causing them a lot of pain. "what did you say about my boyfriend just now?" okay, that student has already started regretting what they said earlier. "i.. i just thought you could choose someone.. you know, better.." "oh, really? hmm, i wonder who could be better than him? oh, maybe you're just jealous and you were talking about yourself?" "what?? no, dude, i would never-" too late! you're gonna beat that person to death! <3

♡ ruggie was too surprised to see you acting like this, he couldn't do anything. okay, no, he knew that he has to do something, he can't just let you beat this person, you're definitely gonna get in trouble for this later. and you're doing all of this just because they insulted ruggie?? when he didn't even hear what this student said?? okay, first of all, ruggie is even more in love with you now, but also.. yeah, now that he heard what this person said, he's not feeling so good. he already was a bit insecure and he thought that he doesn't deserve to be your boyfriend, so hearing someone else say that made him feel even worse. 

♡ "hey, y/n, calm down, okay? i'm fine, really, you don't have to go this far!" ruggie wasn't sure if he thought that person was right or he actually kinda wanted to see you punch them, but he knew that he has to stop this fight before teachers notice. ruggie couldn't let you get punished just because you tried to protect him. it was tempting to ignore ruggie and fight this person anyway, but he was right, that was a bit too much. though you'd kill them if you could. you take a deep breath and let this person go. "sorry, ruggie, i just.. couldn't let them say all that stuff about you. i love you so much, after all!" oh well, now ruggie knows how much you love him and how far you'd go for him. 

trey clover.

♡ like other characters, trey didn't think you're the type to get angry easily or anything like that. though he did suspect that you might be.. not exactly a pure and innocent kind of person. it was just a feeling, call it intuition, if you want. it probably wasn't right though, he knew that he can't just suspect his own boyfriend like this, but he was careful not to get on your bad side. trey was already starting to think that maybe he should stop coming up with all these theories and accept that you're just this very peaceful person that doesn't like fighting- WHAT ARE YOU DOING, Y/N, WHAT HAPPENED BETWEEN YOU AND RIDDLE.

♡ apparently, you were feeling really tired lately, you couldn't care less about your homework and riddle was not okay with this. riddle called you out for not working hard enough and he also reminded you to study for a future exam and you were just done. so you, being a brave (maybe a bit stupid) little guy that you are, decided to raise your voice at riddle rosehearts himself. yeah, it was not a good idea.

♡ trey felt like he just saw two great nations being in the middle of the war. both you and riddle were quite hot-headed and you just refused to listen to each other and kept on insisting that you're the one who's right. if you were a heartslabyul student, riddle could just use his unique magic on you, but he kept resisting. and that's when trey knew that he has to calm you two down before everything becomes worse. "now, now, you two, what happened? let's talk this out, i'm sure we'll be able to find a solution." okay, you and riddle felt a bit ashamed when you realized that trey was watching you.

♡ in the end, riddle agreed that he could be less strict with you and he didn't know that you were struggling, so he offered to help you with homework and that future exam. sure, it's not really fair, if you're from a different dorm, but.. you could really use some help right now. also, you're trey's boyfriend, so riddle feels like he has to be more kind to you. when riddle left, trey's only reaction was "well.. that was truly something." and he really means it, he didn't think you'd have the guts to fight someone like riddle. so he was right all along, you really do have a "dark side", haha. but that only makes you more interesting, right?

kalim al-asim.

♡ to kalim, you were a ray of sunshine. you were a cute and innocent angel, he was sure that you'd never hurt anyone, he always felt so relaxed and peaceful around you! so if someone made you angry.. they must've done something really bad, right? you would never hurt anyone "just because you can", right? well.. today was the day kalim saw you being angry for the first time and it also was the first time he actually felt scared of you.

♡ of course, kalim knew that you can get angry, he still sees you as someone who's very soft and sweet, but he knew that you can also feel all kinds of emotions. he just.. didn't think you would express your anger like this. he thought that you would kill this person if he didn't stop you, so he immediately ran to you and tried to calm you down. he wanted to believe that it was not a big deal and it wasn't something serious, but again.. he knew that if you got angry, it must be very serious.

♡ turns out that you heard this person say that they're sure you don't actually love kalim and you're just using him for his money. they thought that you didn't express your love that often and you were just faking it, you didn't actually care about kalim. you knew that they most likely just wanted to ruin your day and didn't actually care about kalim, but still.. it did make you feel awful.you already had to deal with some other people that also believed you were just using kalim. you knew why jamil was a bit suspicious at first, you couldn't blame him, but when other people mentioned it.. it just felt wrong to you. why do they care? you were sure that they weren't kalim's friends or anything like that, so why do they "worry" so much about your relationship? what is their problem-

♡ but when kalim appears, for some reason you calm down almost instantly. haha, so he's actually a ray of sunshine in this relationship. you two go somewhere more quiet and even though you don't want to upset him, you tell him what happened, because you know that kalim will want answers anyway. when you explain everything, kalim is just so.. sad, he hates that you've been going through so much and he feels like it's because of him. you don't deserve any of this, okay? he loves you so much and he knows that you love him too, why can't other people see that? now, why don't you go and do something fun together? kalim doesn't blame you for lashing out at that student and he tells you that anger is a normal emotion, but he wants to see you being happy!

So over on patreon Trevor asked for my take on the Addams Family and I grew up LOVING the Addams family movies so here we are. Instead of doing a straight up style interpretation, I decided to do a full on design challenge, using the characters as bases to make a black southern gothic Addams au. I actually drew the kids first, using the character bases of Wednesday and Pugsley to create some delightful kiddos I'm calling Sunday and Blanche. I of course then redesigned Gomez and Morticia into Carlisle and Mortesha.

The Addams have a very specific high aristocratic goth aesthetic (they've got a butler and nobody really works among other things) so in this re-imagining I wanted to go with vibes that run a little more middle class/upper middle class.  I thought it would be interesting to think about what would be considered weird and off-putting in an entirely different culture, and how being a big ol' goth is way less controversial than it used to be.

I tried to keep this short (HAHAHAHAHAHA) so I didn't spin off into an essay about villain coded families, black people in the horror genre, and normalcy as it pertains to social survival, but just...bits of that are in these designs and lore. Keep that in mind.

Also I made the kids twins because they've flip flopped in age so much in different media and also twins run in my family (i'm the daughter of one). And let's face it, I'm pulling a lot of their southern gothic traits from living as a southern goth so *shrug*.

The Parents

From the moment he saw her he knew that there was a 50/50 chance of him either never making it out of that swamp alive or marrying the figure that was creeping out from under the distant willow tree in a black cocktail dress. The third time she found him trussed up in one of her traps, he complimented her rope work and asked if she'd like to go out sometime after his head wound stopped bleeding.

Or while it was still bleeding.

If she was into that.

Some kids and a mysteriously burnt down Piggly Wiggly later, their love is still as strong and inescapable as a bear trap in a sink hole.

Carlisle Guillermo (now Addams through marriage but I wanted to give him two first names for a name since Gomez has two last names) makes a vaguely described living practicing ‘law’ around town. A loophole king, people come to him from miles around with contracts signed in blood, fights over chunks of hair buried in their rivals’ yard, dehydrated primate hands, memories that seemed like dreams until the evidence of their happenings became too real, and other regular Legal Items asking for counsel which he is all too happy to give. For a price. Sometimes that price is a homemade pie and sometimes it’s a million dollars, depends on who you are. Whatever you’re asked to pay it’s worth that price, and if you try to scam him out of work or he just plain doesn’t like you? Well. He knows how to twist a contract better than anything at the crossroads.

And he always gets his due.

He doesn’t just serve the local (living)humans though, there are many things that need proper legal representation in this day and age. You wouldn’t believe how many city councils try to build on sacred burial grounds even after he lets them know that his ghostly clients are totally gonna haunt the FUCK out of the ensuing shitty condos and curse their families for all eternity. At least 50% of his energy goes towards dealing with real estate bullshit.

Carl is an excitable and good natured(?) man who loves his family, cigars, dancing, and his many knife-based hobbies. People find him very charming once they get past the feeling that they’re talking to a sultry gator badly disguising itself as a human. I didn’t put a ton of deep thought into designing him, mostly I wanted to make a middle aged dude who looked like he would have been voted ‘most likely to smooch the literal devil’ in high school. Tbh he probably has, but no demonic ex’s can compare to his lovely wife~

Mortesha Addams(her name was already perfect so I just tweaked it)is a woman of many talents. A self proclaimed homemaker, she prides herself on a greenhouse full of Concerning Foliage, a beautiful wasp apiary, and a coop full of what are probably chickens that she keeps for what are probably eggs. She’s also an avid creator of the outsider art that can be seen around the estate. She has taken on the family business of selling her homemade goods in a little stall by the road just outside the swamp with her mom, and makes pretty good money doing so. A surprising amount of poison gets bought in quaint southern towns.

Speaking of poison, people who come out to the edge of the swamp to buy it are usually carrying a lot of secrets around, and Mortesha knows most of them. It’s not like she pries the truth out of people, it just so happens that many nervous hellos eventually turn into the tragic backstory power hour if she’s alone with a client for long enough. She supposes that’s just how people are. Despite the fact that the Addams are very active in the community (whether the community likes it or not) she especially, as a direct descendant of the first Addams matriarch, is seen as…Well not an outsider because the community feels A Certain Way about outsiders and despite it all the Addams are their people, but maybe something like an exception. They feel like whatever weirdness they’re hiding can’t be weirder than any given Addams, so they get a little loose with their words.

This is amusing to her, since Addams’ don’t naturally keep the kind dramatic secrets that their surface level prim and proper neighbors do. It’s much more fun to openly talk about those things.

Do they have a sadly decrepit yet terrifying grandma up in the attic? Yeah, like three. They got a tv, all the creepy porcelain dolls they could want, and they’re close to family. Where do you keep your gram-grams?

Any bodies buried on the property? Yeah some, but most are thrown to the gators.

Any creeping through the balmy summer night with ill intentions? Yeah dude, everyone loves a nice family stroll.

What about dangerous forbidden love? If an adult Addams isn’t incorporeal then they’re either queer or in a torrid romance with some person/thing mysteriously drawn to that awful swamp. Sometimes both at the same time. Most times actually.

Mortesha would know.

The current head of the Addams family is just as outgoing as her husband but a lot quieter and harder to read. She never really seems to get mad about much and always has a genteel smile for everyone whether they deserve it or not. A seven foot tall human shaped “Oh, bless your heart”. A perfectly composed Lady even when she’s, oh I dunno, burning down a Piggly Wiggly. You know. A regular southern mom. Chat her up at the hair salon for 50% off a jar of wasp honey with your next purchase of a mysterious but foreboding packet of herbs.

Designing her was pretty easy because I just drew a lankier Grace Jones and called it a day. I had some problems with her outfit simply because if we were going HARD southern gothic then she’d probably be wearing a white/cream dress with a fuller skirt but I thought keeping the silhouette and the black was more important. She’s supposed to be an anti southern gothic southern gothic character anyway. A woman who looks like she has a million secrets who is actually the most open person you could meet. For better or worse. The red hair came from a coloring error that I really ended up liking (my mom had red hair her whole childhood that only darkened up in high school so I can buy that an Addams can be naturally fire engine red) and the veil was to get more of that classic Morticia silhouette in there.

The Children

Sunday and Blanche are the twin children of Carlisle and Mortesha Addams. Some say the Addams clan got their cursed homestead when a wealthy local businessman made a deal with the devil and lost, leaving his grand mansion to his least favorite maid and cutting his losses once he realized that the swamp would do everything it could to drag the house into the water and take what was owed with its horrible curse. Others say that the family has just always squatted there and no one really cares because man, fuck that particular swamp. Have you been in there? Absolute horror show.

Anyway.

Blanche is the more outgoing sibling and quite the engineer/mad scientist in the making. He started going grey at 2 weeks old but considering he was also rocking some extra fingers, toes, and a tiny tail (he takes after his dad), his parents just put it on the 'not life threatening' pile and decided not to worry about it. He's the kind of smart that teachers find utterly infuriating, less a dog eagerly learning and obeying commands and more a hyena who keeps teaching itself how to pick locks. He has a few friends in his school's robotics club (which they honestly allowed him to make so the school could contain his... creations) but mostly hangs out with his sister exploring the swamp. They find all sorts of neat things in there! wedding rings, suspiciously lumpy garbage bags, cloaked cultists who can't read private property signs, it's an adventure every day!

Blanche is all about experimentation with his creations, his look, and his tether to this mortal coil. Is lipstick a cool thing to try? Let's find out. Can he get out of a strait jacket fast enough after being pushed into the depths of the swamp by his sister? let's find out. He's not dead yet and confused local doctors can attest to the fact that he's rarely attained more than a bad bruise so he's pretty set on continuing to kiss rattlesnakes on their cute little heads and have his sister practice her knife throwing at him until that fact changes.

Blanche is very much a country goth. Cowboy boots (customized by his mom), knife, and lighter are daily accessories. He likes to wear the crusty swamp jewelry they find (the rust adds a splash of color!) and despite appearances he does try to keep himself neat. He's just got  natural Grunge Colors and a tendency to wear clothes he likes until they fall apart. Pugsley always seemed the most modernly styled to me (which might just be because little boys clothes have been the same for a long time) so I wanted Blanche to be the most purposely fashionable Addams. Everyone else is goth by nature, but he's the only one truly familiar with goth as an alternative fashion.

I got really into designing Blanche because honestly, I find Pugsley to be the most boring member of the family. And he was hard to design! I had to mess with his vibe a lot to get him looking how I wanted. I know he's supposed to evoke an " 'evil' little boy next door who's parents never reign him in", but that's just goth Dennis The Menace.  I's 2020. We can at least go queer goth Calvin.

Sunday was much easier to design. Wednesday was my favorite as a child (of course) and I really wanted to keep the spirit of her look while adding things like billowy sleeves (it gets HOT down here), big poofy twists instead of braids, and a nice tie. She's a professional after all, been running the local pet cemetery since she was 6 and the previous groundskeeper met with an unfortunate accident after telling her that tarantulas don't have souls. Her specialty is creating beautiful naturalistic animal funerals similar to those that Maquenda (https://linktr.ee/artofmaquenda) makes, and she takes pride in creating miniature dioramas of her subjects after each burial which she uses as a kind of 3D catalog for future clients.

She really wants to try out her skills on humans one day. Well. Publicly try out her skills. Lotta random bodies float into the swamp. None of them have turned down her requests for diorama models so far. Most seem downright flattered. Plus, she usually figures out which graveyard/crime scene they floated over from and gets her parents to give them a lift back. She'll even help enact terrifying revenge from beyond the grave on whoever put them there if she's not, y'know, busy.

Besides arts, crafts, and pet based funerary arrangements, Sunday is an avid lover of archery (any ranged weapon really), books where little fantasy adventure animals die dramatic deaths, and history. She is That Kid who eagerly raises her hand when asked who Christopher Columbus was and ends up being sent out of class after 15 minutes for making 'a scene'. Her favorite party trick is just picking an item in the room and talking about how it relates to either some obscure historical figure with a buck wild life or a horrible disaster. At least one charity pancake breakfast ended with children in tears after her vivid description of the Great Molasses Flood of 1919.

Social-wise, while Wednesday is the girl that people ask to smile because they think she'd, "look so pretty", Sunday is rarely asked anything at all. People just kind of assume from her quiet nature (in between horrible history facts) that she's angry all the time and that she hates everyone. This is untrue. She hates some people but she's ambivalent to most everyone else and even downright friendly if you bother to talk to her like a person instead of a terrifying cryptid. Like, she IS a terrifying cryptid but she's also a little girl.  

That’s about it for now. One day I might do the other family members but for now I’m happy with the four I’ve redesigned. Making an au! Lurch in a family that doesn’t do butlers could be interesting. Over on patreon I put forth that he could just be Motesha’s mute little brother (similar bone structure) but Amy Crook had the nice idea of quote: “ a mysterious "cousin" that "helps around the house" whose origins are both long in the past and faintly unsettling. He's good for lifting heavy things, like that tank of propane you're about to throw into the burning Piggly Wiggly... “ which i now consider canon. Who's kid is he? How old is he? Not important. Anyone willing to commit arson with you is family.

Annnnyway.  This challenge was a lot of fun! I love indulging in AU’s.

Okay I was thinking about how the other charathers that Arent the great Seven would react to the NRC students in the house of mouse AU. Like i can Imagine Azul asking Ariel if She wants ti make a deal with him and Ariel Is like "lol no", or the First year see Cruella de vil at One of the tables and they are like "She look so much like Crewel that She's giving us PTSD" or kalim and Aladdin becoming buddies :D.

Well, let me put in some headcannons then:

Word goes around that some of the Great Disney villains come to visit Yuu and everyone gets jealous.

So now whenever Yuu goes to work they always get asked to have them visit their world.

So, Yuu just says, “Meh ok, you guys can visit me whenever just ask one of the Great Seven or go through the mirror in my dressing room-“

And suddenly Yuu gets someone they met from the House of Mouse ever other day. It’s literal chaos and Yuu doesn’t know if they should feel exasperated or flattered.

Anyways, here’s some interactions between the dorms and some Disney Characters:

Heartslybul: Obviously when Alice comes to visit, she comments on how Heartslybul reminds her of the Queen of Hearts’ garden. When Yuu mentions that they paint the roses red, Alice sarcastically asks, “Does the dorm leader behead people who don’t paint the roses?” “...Well, he’s more lenient now but...” “...You’re serious?”

Ace and Alice get along swimmingly, basically quick quips and a lot of teasing. Yuu regrets introducing them to each other because they know the two are going to get into some sort of trouble. Deuce also gets along with Alice, though he can get lost in Alice’s rambles in imagination.

I think Alice would get along with Trey and Cater. I mean, they both give big brother vibes (Trey more than Cater). Trey would give Alice some tarts and Alice is like, “....He’s cool.”

Cater is going to take a bunch of pictures, and Alice is very curious about the device he’s holding (I don’t think phones or the internet existed during Alice’s time so...). Cater ends up teaching Alice about the internet and phones.

Riddle...ohhh noo. Once Alice broke one of the 810 rules and Riddle lightly scolded her for it. Alice thinks most of the rules are ridiculous and while Riddle has toned down on being strict, he’ll quickly get annoyed with Alice questioning the rules. There’s rules for a reason! The dorm was founded on these rules!!

Savannaclaw: It’s Simba, obviously. He’s curious to see the dorm after his...nefarious uncle. It’s much more nicer than he expected, though he’s a little off put by the dorm’s...rowdiness.

But he’s impressed with the Magishift practices they have when Yuu showed them.

He likes Jack, right off the bat. Jack has this sense of justice that he can relate to. I think they would get along pretty well. Oh, and probably how strong and buff Jack is.

Simba is wary of Ruggie, due to him being a hyena beastmen. He has...bad memories of hyenas. His wariness is correct, since Ruggie has tried to swindle Simba and Yuu to do some of his work. Does the relationship get better? Only if Yuu makes them hang out with each other haha.

Leona reminds Simba of Scar...to a certain degree. Lazy, cunning, and has this look where it seems like he could be planning something nefarious...

Ok, maybe not that bad, but Simba is weary of Leona. He kind of expected a character similar to Scar since this is the dorm based on him but...still. It’s really odd. It’s kind of rocky, but if Cheka comes over to visit, well...it could get better.

I mean, Leona does find Cheka annoying and calls him a brat but...Simba can tell there’s no malicious desire towards Cheka, which raises Leona’s “evil people don’t interact” list. That doesn’t mean Leona’s in the clear, but he’s ok.

Octavinelle: Surprise, surprise, it’s Ariel! She comes over, human legs and all. (Don’t worry! She got them from the nicer sorcerers). She wanted to visit Yuu and see how great NRC was! They had fun, and then they went to Mostro Lounge.

Ariel is terrified of the Tweels. They give her this...off putting feeling and they’re very intimidating. She does not trust them at all. She does like how they get up close and how they speak as if she’s some poor soul waiting to be taken advantage over.

That’s also why she does not trust Azul at all. He reminds Ariel of Ursula - especially when he tries making a contract with her. Uh-uh, no way. Never again.

This leads to Ariel dubbing NRC a dangerous place for Yuu to stay at. Why doesn’t Yuu come live with her and her family back at her world? Surely it’s much more safer than here! Why, Melody already sees Yuu as a big sibling so why not just stay at the castle permanently?

Ursula fumes at the thought of her enemy trying to take Yuu away and become their parent. That’s her role, dammit!

Scarabia: Kalim invites Aladdin, actually. It’s the most funniest scenario. Yuu mentioned to Kalim about the street rat that wooed the princess and Kalim says, “:00 WE SHOULD INVITE HIM!!” Jamil sighs and facepalms.

It’s actually going great! Aladdin is kind of shocked at the big party that Kalim threw, but it was a great welcome. He’s shook that Kalim apparently trusted Aladdin enough to show him the treasury room. “It’s open for all of the dorm to use! I don’t need much of it!”

Wasn’t NRC rumored to be a villain’s school??? What is this ball of sunshine doing here???

Actually, the Scarabia duo are good in his eyes. Sure, a little rough around the edges with Kalim being a bit too naive and Jamil being more of a watching snake, but they’re better than what he expected. Aladdin gets along with them pretty well!

And then they go on a carpet ride when Kalim introduces Aladdin to his magic flying carpet.

Yuu and Jamil scream at the two of them to get down as they fly across the night sky.

Pomfiore: oh no. Oh no no no. Snow White visiting Pomfiore is like...Neige visiting.

Vil is cold to Snow White, and she knows why. She’s seen the images that Yuu had of this “Neige Leblanc”. He certainly reminds her of her younger days. Which is why she completely understands why Vil is so standoffish of her.

What she doesn’t expect is Rook singing her praises and also kind of...watching her. It’s low key creepy but Yuu says it’s normal and since he doesn’t mean any harm Snow White lets it slide. They do have a good conversation though. Snow White learns to understand Rook’s...eccentric hobbies.

Epel and Snow White go together like apples and oranges. They go pretty well together, but they have contrasting differences. They could be passed of as siblings with their cute looks, as much as Epel hates to admit it. Though I’d like to think they have this “Soft big sister with a gremlin of a little brother” dynamic. Or “Big sister that is harmless but has a badass little bother” dynamic. Just...a cool sibling dynamic, basically.

Ignihyde: Hercules comes by when he hears that a dorm was based off of Hades. He had to see what it was like. He expected the doom and gloom, but he didn’t expect all the technology.

He and Ortho go along swimmingly. I mean, he’s pretty chill around the more upbeat and cheery dorm member, at least. (Seriously, the others were such buzzkills). He also gets a good impression on Idia when Ortho affectionately talks about his big brother! Wow, so the kids here do have a heart! Unlike Hades-

Ok, so as much as Ortho talks so highly of Idia, Hercules does not see how Ortho does. I mean, Idia is a complete shut in and gloomy recluse! Why do you stick around him?! It isn’t until he speaks his mind about that comment does Ortho turn into a crazy murder machine. (“How DARE you speak of that about my brother!!”) Yuu has to save Hercules and the entire dorm before Ortho blows up the school.

So now Hercules sees how inseparable the two are and how much they care for each other, which yeah, that’s pretty cool. (Is also low key jealous, how come his half brothers weren’t like that?)

Diasomnia: Aurora visits with Maleficent. Both do not share ill will after their stories are completed. They actually do make amends. So Maleficent invited Aurora to see her grandson, and Aurora politely accepts.

They have tea with Malleus, and it is a very pleasant conversation. Aurora gets along well with Malleus, even suggesting maybe she should invite him and Maleficent to her kingdom one day. (Maybe when she gives birth to a beautiful baby. Maleficent liked that)

Lilia is also a fun one to be around! Aurora was so surprised by his scare that she had laughed. Ah, what a funny fae! Why, she hadn’t laughed this hard since...well, never. She likes Lilia and will come by if she needs a good laugh.

Poor Sebek though....he acts all uptight around Aurora because she’s a Queen and also aquatinted with Maleficent...he must be respectful to her at all costs! It takes a long time for Sebek to at least act a little casual around her. Maleficent says it’ll take some time, though Aurora isn’t sure if that time will come on her lifetime...but for the meantime, she is still happy to be around Sebek’s presence and have pleasant conversations with him.

Aurora and Silver...ok, let me say this: they got along during a sleepover. The Diasomnia gang + Maleficent and Aurora had a sleepover in the dorms to “better know each other”. I also think Aurora would feel sympathy for Silver if the conversation of him tending to fall asleep came up. Heavens knows she still has her sleepy spells even after her curse was broken.

Also- wofhenod I just imagine Aurora and Silver walking in the forest together and a bunch of animals surround them. (Yuu finds them and cries when they actually attracted a bunch of adorable puppies (or whatever animal you find cute). Cute, adorable animals that are so gentle with them that they start to cry due to stress from being at NRC (Silver and Aurora look at Yuu with concern and gently start comforting them)

Winfendien Suddenly I want a twin dynamic with Silver and Aurora. Even a sibling dynamic would be cool. Just two sleepy siblings that won’t hesitate to kick your ass.

Haikyuu Characters as Theater Kids: Fukurodani/Nekoma Edition

Bokuto:

Cannot remember his lines FOR SHIT

Exaggerates some of his lines to make them cooler

Goes emo when he messes up. One time he missed a cue and proceeded to yell how sorry he was to the audience, and then hid under a table and refused to come out. They had to escort the audience until he recovered.

Volume control? 🤨 This man is yelling all his lines. At least he has a lot of energy and enthusiasm?

Would beg to be the lead and then proceed to mope for hours when he found out he didn’t get it

Doesn’t ever STFU. Ever.

Laughs really loudly at the play from offstage. The audience hears everything.

Unintentionally funny

Constantly looking for Akaashi and gives him a huge hug after every show and says he is glad he has him as his biggest supporter 🥰

Pouts if he doesn’t get enough applause or attention

Asks for validation every time he does something good. Once said his line really well and turned excitedly to the audience and said “Did you guys hear that? I NAILED THAT LINE!” 😄

Akaashi:

Is a talented actor with a really angelic, soft singing voice

Does not want to be the lead, cause doesn’t like the attention all on him

Tries to help Bokuto learn lines (key word tries)

Has the patience of A SAINT

Needs coffee before rehearsals or else. Bokuto calls Akaashi without his coffee “Decaf Akaashi”

Decaf Akaashi is terrifying because he loses any sort of filter

He’s like Tsukishima, but even more ruthless. Because every insult he makes is meant to hit exactly where it hurts. And nobody is safe.

Some examples:

1. Hinata forgot his script and Akaashi said, “Of course YOU would forget your script you absolute idiot. Not that it makes a difference, because hearing you try to read is more painful than you forgetting your lines.”

2. Ushijima was in the middle of a sentence, and Akaashi said, “I really hoped your boring fucking personality wouldn’t translate onstage. Pity that you’re unable to be likable no matter the context.”

3. Halfway through the first act of a dress rehearsal, Akaashi stood up and announced, “Wow, you guys are really shitty at this. You should all just quit while you’re behind.”

The whole cast had an intervention. Daichi literally bought a coffee maker to have backstage at all times because DAICHI was scared

After that Akaashi was perfectly fine, but the cast knew not to get on his bad side

Akaashi has repressed rage. I won’t take any criticism on this

Lev:

Uncoordinated…so uncoordinated

Trips over everything and steps on everyone’s feet during the dance scenes

Was removed from the show because he was a safety hazard, and, in Kenma’s words, “a danger to himself and others.”

Yaku:

Was one of Lev’s victims

Broke his leg

RIP short king you will be missed 😔

Kenma:

Plz no emotion he is monotone

Where is the flavor? 😒

Brings his switch on stage with him

Doesn’t look up at the audience

Nobody can hear anything he says

Skips practice more than he goes to it

Every time something goes wrong, he says, “Lev this is your fault.”

Kuroo:

Snide comebacks

This man is roasting his friends, especially Bokuto, every time they mess up

Very distracting

He is smart but every time him and Bokuto are together, their collective IQ is equivalent to a pineapple. And that’s being generous.

Kept snickering the whole time with that shit-eating grin. You know the one.

Also flirts with everyone. His love language is being a snarky little shit.

Finally, Daichi told Kuroo, “If you’re gonna come to practice can you at least join the play? Just be any love interest? You already have like weird sexual tension with everyone anyway so you won’t even have to act.”

He ended up playing an evil villain. Why you may ask? Two words. Hyena laugh.

And as I always say, “if villain why sexy? 🤔”

Yamamoto:

Yelled. Every. Line. So. Loud.

Daichi told him he could be the announcer instead to save everyones’ eardrums during the actual play

Unfortunately Daichi failed to realize that giving Yamamoto access to a megaphone and loudspeakers was not the best idea

He tried to serenade Kiyoko over the speakers. With an original song. It was not good.

TWST FAMILY HCS PT2) Savanaclaw and Octavinelle

Feel free to tack on your own Hc’s too!!! I love reading what other people think and how their view of the characters and of Twisted Wonderland in general change from person to person!!!

Savanaclaw:

Leona:

-Farena: We already know Leona describes his brother as being carefree and relaxed, but deep under that I think he’s a deeply intelligent man (how can you run a kingdom and be stupid?). He tries his best to make time in his schedule for his wife and child, and even try to get bonding tike with his younger brother (which never works out well). He tries to teach Cheka as much as he can, often giving him little life lessons while they play games. He’s a very kind and straightforward man, often being blunt when he doesn’t mean to. He stands a little taller than Leona, with Orange hair similar to Chekas. He keeps his hair tied out of his face as much as he can.

-Sister-in-law Kingscholar: A strong and confident woman, not afraid to speak her mind when she wants to. She’s blunt and she’d let you know about it. She’s also very kind in her own way, often dragging Leona off and trying to have serious talks with him, which he appreciates but doesn’t show. She adores Cheka and often spoils him without meaning to, and will spoil Leona too (but indirectly in a way similar to Ace’s father’s). Also very intelligent and good at reading people. I think she stands a little shorter than Leona, but she holds herself higher, and he slouches, so it looks as if they’re the same height. She has long yellow hair (again, similar to the ends of Cheka’s) that she often ties back as well.

-Cheka: We already know him, so heres a few Hcs!: He sometimes asks his mother to do his hair the same way as Leona’s, and tries to do everything like him (such as standing like him, trying to deepen his voice to sound like him, throwing sand at various objects in the castle yelling “King’s Roar!!”)

Ruggie:

-Grandma Bucchi: As he said himself, a stern and prideful woman. I think she’d be on the stricter side, having to teach Ruggie how to survive rather than him having to face those hard truths alone. She likely stands a lot shorter, likely 5’0 (sorry to anyone whos that height), than most other beastwomen. She’s a lot physically stronger than she looks, often still trying to pick Ruggie up at his age. She tries to spoil him when she can, trying to make him relax after working and taking over the household chores (which he declines, still cleaning up when she’s not looking- which earns him a smack to the head with a broom). She’s also a prankster, quietly jumping out from corners and scaring Ruggie or one of the other children. I think she feels a lot of regret over seeing Ruggie grow up so fast in the environment that he had, but she’s the proudest grandma ever. Whenever he sends pictures back she boasts to everyone at home (“See that! That’s my grandson’s school! See that there! He plays magift and is one of the best on the team! Look there! He’s got those nice ceremony robes!”), and even boasts about him with what little baby pictures they have (“See him walking at such a young age? Isn’t he so strong?”) Will never stop talking about her grandson, ever.

-Neighborhood kids: I think they’re like little siblings to Ruggie, so I’m adding them. They try to tale over what Ruggie did when he was at home, helping people fix up their houses or entertaining the baby hyenas when their mothers have other things to do. They also leave gifts to Ruggie when he comes back, between little dolls they made, bracelets they thought he’d like, charms, or pretty rocks and leaves. He keeps all of the gifts, no matter how small.

-His mom (bc the poor woman deserves a spot)(Poor meaning unfortunate)(The more i think abt it, both. It means both. Bad time?): I think she looked a lot like him, but with brighter blue eyes than his. She was definitely a prankster at heart, leaving clever traps behind for any poor soul to get stuck in. She was a very hardworker much like her son, taking on any task she could find to help out her mother. I think she’d try to leave as much behind for Ruggie as she could, which would include little notes and scribbles about how she was feeling throughout her pregnancy and how excited she was for him. Ruggie also kept all of those safe and sound, in a small box he keeps in the corner of his room.

Jack:

-Grandma & Grandpa Howl: A very loving couple, who always make time out of their schedule for their grandchildren, whether it be for school events, emergencies, or if any one of them want to come by and talk. They met when Grandpa Howl got lost and wandered by Grandma Howl’s family’s cabin (which happens to be the one they, and the rest of the family, still live in to this day) and he spent the night. I think they fell in love at first sight :’)

-Mama Howl: A very soft and loving beastwoman who is willing to sacrifice anything for her children. She is often strict, and sometimes a chatterbox, but she always reminds her children to stay safe and that she loves them. She always pats their head or cheek when she walks by, even if she has to reach a little to plant a kiss on Jack’s forehead. I think her hair would be a little darker grey, and she’d definitely be a little more muscular and taller, reaching six ft one when standing straight up. She’d have the same yellow eyes as Jack, and her hair would be cropped shorter due to her still moving around a lot.

-Papa Howl: Very similar to Jack personality and appearance wise. He stands an inch or two shorter than Jack, but is still very muscular due to working around the house and in the woods (chopping wood for the campfire, dragging around tools, carrying three wolf pups at a time in his younger days (only one now wants to be carried, which hurts the poor man’s heart a bit)

-Baby brother Howl: Huffy and a little moody, but a hard worker even if he complains while doing it most of the time. That’s often with his parents, but when he does something with Jack he doesn’t complain a bit. He’s very attached to his older brother, looking up to him for his strength and strong morals. He often compares him to superheroes and star athletes in his mind, but sometimes it slips out, resulting in one very embarrassed wolf boy and another very flattered wolf boy, ignore their wagging tails, it means nothing. I think he stands pretty tall for a preteen, around 5’7-5’8 and growing taller by the day. Same hair and eye color as Jack. Acts like he doesn’t like to play games with his younger sister but will never turn down a game of tag.

-Baby sister Howl: An absolute sweetheart. She just wants the best for her family and will do whatever she can to make what they want happen. Jack is hungry? Good thing she made her special dessert (it’s a poptart with whipped cream messily piled on top with sprinkles and literal sugar cubed wedged in it, but don’t tell her you don’t like it, please she’d actually bawl). Her other older brother is tired? She can get him extra blankets! Mama needs help cleaning? She can mop (she really just throws water on the floor and praises herself for a job well done). Papa need to cut wood? She can- no, she can’t. Please don’t give her an axe. She’ll cheer him from the sidelines with a song she made up just for him instead! She has their mother’s grey hair and father’s dark brown eyes, and loves to do her hair like the princesses she sees on Tv! (Yes, Jack will wear a too-small dress and Tiara if his sister wants to play princess. No, he will not let anyone take pictures.)

Octavinelle:

Tweels:

-Mama Leech: At first glance, a very kind woman with soft eyes. Willing to open her arms to anyone who might need help. Then, a terrifying grin similar to Floyd’s as that poor unfortunate soul realizes the trap they’d been thrown in. She’s very kind and patient towards both her boys and husband, as well as their friends (even of she is on guard near their friends, throwing a few hollow threats to see if it’d scare them away)(She doesn’t like to share her babies). She dotes on the tweels as much as possible, indulging im whatever curiosity they may have. Floyd wants to know what going through riptide is like? They leave tomorrow to find one. Jade wants to know more about life on land? She’ll find as many books as possible and ask (threaten) people for their land belongings. She knows when too far is too far though, and is very skilled at reeling the boys back in if they get to that point. Will always call them her little guppies, no matter how big they get. I think she’d have a teal bob on top, with the underside of her hair being black (which makes her hair look color changing when she swims). Im her human form shes only a few inches shorter than her boys, ranging around the same as Jack’s mother.

-Papa Leech: The definition of old Hollywood New York mob boss. Strict and blunt about his interests and problems, and not afraid to cause any problems if provoked. When the tweels were younger and they’d wrestle and bite at him, he’d throw them off him easily, telling them they need to work to beat him, even if he was impressed by their teamwork at first. Will die to protect his family, and was likely put in that position many times in the past due to his uh… business. He values his wife and children more than anything, and has done everything in his power in the past to protect them from harm. When they went to NRC at first, he felt defeated and almost wanted to beg them to stay safe with him (not that his pride would allow it).(Both the tweels can see through his facade easily)

Azul:

-Grandma ‘grotto: A very stern and prim octomermaid. What she says goes in the Ashengrotto house, and she often catches herself making unnecessary comments. She does apologize. Also a very loving grandmother towards Azul, often babying him whenever possible (doing the classic “you’re not eating enough here take some more” grandma move)(She will smooch his face whenever possible when there are no business clients nearby). Tries to boost his confidence since she knew about what was happening to him (Chances are she went through the same thing- being an octomer as well) and dod her best to protect him and make him happy. She taught him how to write with his tentacles and encouraged him to do his best in everything he does.

-Mama ‘grotto: Another businesslady in the front absolute softie in the back situation. Adores her son and is incredibly proud of how far he’s come.I think she looks identical to Azul, but more heavyset and, of course, female. She coddled Azul as much as possible, which worked out well with baby Azul’s clingy nature. She had no shame in walking around with the little guy stuck to her (unless he smacked a tentacle to her face when she was working on her restaurant), and made sure everyone knew what a good boy he was. She would show pictures to everyone (similar to Ruggie’s grandma), but respects his wishes in wanting to hide pictures of his past. She still shows anyone who asks pictures of him at NRC (compliments to the twins, who send her updates when her son is busy), and will tell everyone how smart he is and how much he’s grown.

-Step-Papa grotto: A very professional man in every aspect of his life, which stretches to his relationship with his stepson. When he learns about the contracts and Azuls UM, he’s over the moon with how happy he is. He swam around with a little more pep than usual, flicking his tail and flaring out his fins the more and more Azul told him. He helps him reword and format his contracts to his advantage, and is always willing to talk with him about Mostro Lounge or (on rare occasion) some memories before Step papa Ashengrotto met Mama Ashengrotto (which always make him happy that Azul trusts him enough). I think he’d be a pretty generic looking Mer, with an average looking tail and such

DNP Rewatch: A Day in the Life of Dan and Phil in JAPAN!

The first Japan trip! DNP were in Japan from April 9 (also when Nick Jonas tweeted “hey buddy you in London?” to Dan 😂) to April 20. Phil was calling it his dream holiday before they even left. I’m going to split their tweets/Instagram posts between this post and the next one (for DAN AND PHIL JAPAN HAUL!) based on what they’re talking about in the video.

This is really soon after the last DITL video, which was just in December 2014. I always write way too much for these, so here we go...

0:00 - this is the most energetic start to a DITL video. Also the first joint intro. I feel like usually Dan is holding the camera when filming both of them, but not here. They lighting is much better than they think it is, lol.

0:07 - there we go with Dan taking over the camera holding. They really do look happy.

0:12 - “Phil and Dan” for once, just to make the rhyme work. Although not in the video title.

0:19 - awwww, cute inclusion of fan art!

0:21 - starting the adventure with a toilet is so random. Dan’s giggle in the background is amazing.

0:35 - I get the impression that Dan knows this is a bad idea but is making Phil do it anyway

0:47 - Dan’s hyena laugh! Phil looks shocked but is still grinning so much at Dan doubled over laughing in the background.

I mean, I love all of the DITL videos and this one is no exception. They just seem to be having so much fun on this day. DNP were really so excited about this trip. 

I do like that they chose to only film on one day, and just enjoy the rest of it. I’m sure they needed a bit of a break after the TABINOF announcement and before the craziness of the tour starting. They did share some photos of things they did on other days, of course (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).
