Zeno Zoldyck

🐲​You'd think that as one of the oldest members of the Zoldyck family, Zeno would act his role as the strict grandfather and drill into you every lesson you need to know as the future head of the family. Instead he has taken the complete opposite role and has settled into being the chill granddad for it is his son's role to lecture you in everything you need to know, not his. Most of the time he spends with you is more comparable to him just hanging out with you, unless he notices that you are slacking off in which case he will show you why despite his age he is still a feared assassin in the world. There are constant jokes thrown back and forth between you two as both of you try to see who can deliver verbally the bigger blow whilst both of you take it without a single grain of salt. Even during missions both of you have together, you tend to see who has the better one-liners all whilst being completely indifferent to the screaming and terrified targets. Silva has voiced his disdain as he thinks that Zeno is being too soft yet Zeno has always stood up. He's a proud grandfather so just let him do what he wants to do with his favorite grandchild. After all your very first word ever was "grandpa", how could he not love you?

Silva Zoldyck

🐺​For all the respect he holds for his own father, the old man is giving him a headache with the way he treats you, his heir. Silva claims most of your time, either training you or teaching you everything you need to know as the next head of the clan. You are his entire pride and he has high expectations for you which he is confident you will live up to. There is especially much time poured into helping you honing your special Nen-abilities of the Infinity and your Six Eyes, skills which he is proud that you have gotten as it only further solidifies you as one of the strongest members of the family. He's aware of the fact that you favor your grandfather though and he knows that Zeno often sneaks away with you because he wants to spend time with you and the GIF I've used is probably the exact same expression he gives the two of you when he catches you. Is he perhaps a tad bit jealous that you favor your grandfather over your own dad? Perhaps, he is rather possessive after all but he would never admit that though his suffocating aura is already indicator enough of his feelings. He's most likely never gotten fully over it that your first word wasn't "dada" and Zeno has never let him forget it either.

Kikyo Zoldyck

🔺​Kikyo has a terrible streak of jealousy and that isn't made better by the fact that Silva and Zeno steal so much of your time for themselves. As a result she is all the more smothering and clingy the moment you are by yourself as she seems to wait for you to be alone like a starved predator and pounces on you the moment neither of the two men are around. This woman is always complimenting you for everything. For your talents, your strength, your caring personality, your looks and whatever else you can think of. There is a tinge of bittersweet melancholy though as she sometimes mourns the time where you were chubby and small and came always stumbling towards her with a happy look on your face. Her little bird has left the nest far too quickly and has grown so independent.... Your kind and caring personality can be easily a trigger of her jealousy though whenever you pay attention to one of your siblings or can't spend time with her since you have promised someone else already that you'd be with them. She always makes a huge clamour whenever the topic of potential partners is involved as no one in her eyes could be worthy of her beautiful baby boy.

Illumi Zoldyck

🤎​For as long as Illumi can remember, you two have always been together. You complete him, he completes you. After all both of you have been sharing the same womb, have shared everything since the very moment the two of you were conceived. It is this mindset that has always pushed Illumi to be surprisingly clingy, your silent shadow that has been trailing behind you ever since the two of you could crawl. From all of his siblings he has always thought that he deserves you the most, perhaps even more than the entirety of the Zoldyck family as the both of you share a special connection as twins. He's casually thrown needles into people's heads when they so much as dared to question whether the two of you are really twins as your appearances are like night and day, silently enraged whenever someone would do as much as doubt just how close the two of you are. He's the one seeking you out even quicker than Kikyo when neither Silva nor Zeno are in sight and likes to whisk you somewhere where he can have the time with you he thinks he deserves more than anyone else. He's tried to scare some of his other siblings away whenever he thought that they were stealing you away from him.

Milluki Zoldyck

💻​Going back to Illumi bullying his siblings whenever they also try to get your time, poor Milluki is the one who gets the most of it, though Milluki has used this fact often to play the victim card to try to coax you into spending more time with him. Activities with Milluki contain munching on snacks whilst playing some video games or watching some Anime and with passing years this guy has installed an entire security system to make sure that no one disturbs him when he has you, his older brother with him in the room. The ony time where he has gotten too scared and let someone in his room is when either Zeno or Silva knock on his door as he knows fully well that they'll break it if he doesn't open it within 3 seconds. Whenever he has managed to make you promise to spend an evening with you, he buys tons of your favorite snacks and prepares your favorite movies, games and series so that everything is to your liking and so that he can hopefully become your favorite sibling. He's even made a phone specifically for you and gifted it to you on your birthday. There are a lot of special apps and features included on the phone, one of them being a very secretive tracker which allows him to always know your location.

Killua Zoldyck

🪀​Killua has been clinging to you since he was a toddler and that hasn't changed much over the years. Seemingly adapting to the strategies of Zeno, Killua is always sneaky when he seeks you out and beckons you to follow him and spend time with him. He's probably one of the few who is willing to share his time with you together with some of his other siblings which is pretty much only Alluka. You've always indulged him though, knowing that there was a certain pressure on him due to his white hair and blue eyes as well. Killua has taken some pride in his appearance though, mainly because people not associated with his family always instantly acknowledged him as your younger brother whilst such recognition wasn't as granted with people like Illumi or Milluki which causes him to act somewhat smug in such given situations. Both of you have a sweet tooth and whenever one of you is on a mission, it has become a sacred ritual that the person buys something sweet before heading home again to share it with the other. The poor boy was heartbroken when you couldn't come with him when he took his Hunter Exam, though you strongly spoke up for him when people like Kikyo were hesitant to let him go.

Alluka Zoldyck

💝​Whereas almost the entire rest of the family has always shunned Alluka, Killua and you were the only ones willingly spending time with her and playing with her. As a result Alluka as well as Nanika genuinely view the two of you as the only people both of them need and really love and Nanika especially grants the both of you free wishes. Okay, maybe not always free. At times there are demands for you such as wanting a piggyback from you, wanting a kiss on the cheek or wanting to be lifted up and spun around by you. Whenever you hear such words coming out of Alluka's mouth you instantly know that both of them want your affection and attention in that moment and you have never been able to deny them their requests, even if you have never used the wishes you were granted in return for something sinister. The room Alluka is kept in is filled with plushies and prettily designed because you demanded it to be that way and whenever Alluka or Nanika want the walls to be painted a different colour or desire a new plushie, you always take it upon yourself to fulfill them their wish and Killua gives you a helping hand for the majority of the time.

Kalluto Zoldyck

🏮​Kallluto has arguably got the worst luck as he is the youngest member of the family and often is brushed over by all of his other siblings who deem that he should wait for his turn. The poor boy is a professional stalker even from a young age as he has spend countless hours watching other members of the family having fun with you all whilst he is deprived of it. He plays the even bigger victim card than Milluki for such reasons in the very moment you call out to him and spend time with him. Whenever you two walk around, he either clings to the sleeves of your clothes or even manages to hold your hand, his head constantly tilted so that he can look at you with sparkling eyes. The insecurities he sometimes feels as a result of being somewhat overlooked as the entire household revolves around you is something he learns to use effectively as an advantage when he wants to steal your attention away from someone else because he knows you'll crouch down and ask him if everything is alright the moment he starts fidgeting around with his fingers and makes himself small. As you are the person he idolises and looks up to, he ends up adapting your likes and dislikes all to feel closer to you.

Zeno: He’s one of the more normal people, and sees you a kind and nurturing person. He knows that killua loves you dearly, and would break if you were to get hurt

Illumi: at first, he is similar to Silva in seeing you as a way to bring Killua home. He asks you out on a date to try and woo you. If he has your heart, he’ll also have killua in the palm of his hand. But… you’re kind. He sees how much you genuinely love and care for Killua and… it makes him feel a certain way. He’s never seen someone care for another in such a way. Illumi thinks he’s fallen in love at first, and follows you around for a bit, but he actually sees you as a mother figure

Kalluto: Honestly he’s a bit jealous of Killua. He wants that same motherly love, to have someone protect and nurture him. Maybe in the future you’re able to do just that for him!

Milluki: thinks you’re attractive, but doesn’t really care much besides that

Alluka: you’re like her big sister! she always clings to you when she visits, tugging on your sleeve and giggling as she clings to you!

"Didn't I tell you to stop killing these poor butlers, father? How do you expect us to be taken care of if you take your rage out on our servents?" The young Assassin grumbled while putting her hands on her hips. Suddenly, the whole estate went silent. However, the rest of the lower butlers blinked and gulped in hope.

At the edge of the room, the young assassin can be seen. Her long H/C hair that shined under the moonlight can put any woman to shame. Her E/C eyes that they inherited from her father were sharp yet adorable. It could not be denied that with her looks and god-given talent for assassination that the girl belonged to the Zoldyck family.

With their sudden appearance, Silva lowered his guard and relaxed. It could be seen by his face that he adored the presence of his dearest daughter. With a soft tone, he asked, "Y/N, dear, what are you doing here? I thought you were out of the house."

The Lower butlers secretly beg the assassin to spare them from their death. By doing this, not only do they have a higher chance to survive, but they could also continue to contribute in caring for the Head's most adored daughter, Y/N Zoldyck.

One with no common sense would simply assume that Y/N was the glass child of the Zoldyck family, but behind closed doors they couldn't be any more wrong. Y/N was the glue that kept the family together. She was known to be cruel, sadistic, and outstanding in the art of assassination. However, there were people such as her siblings that could see the other side of her. Most of the time, Y/N was a kind and calm individual outside of work. And today just so happened to be a day where she felt generous.

Y/N thought for a bit before shaking her head, "I thought I told you our agreement about killing butlers in the mansion. Their screams can be heard from my room. It would be better if you killed them quickly or just let them free," she sighed as she turned her eyes to the poor butlers that had been severely tortured by electric shock.

Silva on the other hand glared sharply. Although it was subtle, his eyes went smaller, and clenched his hand.

He hated it.

He hated it when HIS daughter ignored him for Illumi.

He despised it when HIS daughter left him alone to play with Kalluto.

He loathed it when HIS daughter was playing video games with Milluki.

He felt sick to his stomach whenever he witnessed HIS daughter braiding Alluka's hair.

He detested it when HIS daughter is 'playing' outside with Killua and his pathetic excuses of friends.

And oh dear god did he want to smash a boulder across his head whenever he saw HIS daughter laughing with her mother and grandfather.

Silva loved his only daughter to death. Every inch of his daughter belonged to him and ONLY him alone. He hated sharing with others, family only being a small exception. If he could, he would lock her in his room and make her look at him and ONLY him alone.

Knowing that the entire family would riot against him if he were to bring harm to the assassin, he buried that plan deep within his heart and continued to be a 'good dad' for her. He forgot the agreement and decided to play it funny so that his daughter could let this case pass.

"I apologize, dear," Silva grumbled with a fake frown. "Unfortunately, these foolish butlers failed their mission and their penalty is nothing but death. I thought it would be great to punish them first but I overlooked an important part,"

Y/N kept her mouth shut and looked at her father. Somehow, Her emotions had stirred up from her father's response. She knew that her father loved her the most out of her brothers. He would remember every word she had said and did not dare to break any promises. Sadly, although she had been feeling generous, today has been a tiring day for her and all she wanted is a good night's rest.

"Just let them free for my sake. I couldn't hear them screaming any longer! Do you know how much their screams had disturbed me from my sleep?! This is a simple agreement and somehow you can't even remember my words. I'm so disappointed in you," Y/N spat in tiredness. As soon as she said that, she quickly turned her back and jumped to her room which is located on the outer side of the fortress.

Silva hid his rage and waved to her daughter's back. "I hope you'll have a nice dream, my sweet Y/N"

Soon after Y/N left the room, the temperature dropped. The butlers shivered as the waited for another wave of electricity to shoot through their bodies, but nothing came. They glanced up at their boss, only to see him with an expressionless face.

Without another word, he allowed the ball of electricity growing on his hand to explode, killing the butlers in an instant. With his eyes full of tenderness, he took a deep breath of air.

"I'll make it up to you, my daughter..."

Zeno sighed tirelessly as he observed his sons actions. "When will he stop with this obsessive behaviour? Those butlers did nothing except make sure Y/N was taken care of, and yet he still killed them? In all my years I've never seen Silva express such madness before."

Illumi sighed in helplessness to his grandfathers words, "Even I'm starting to get a bit bored now, As her beloved eldest brother I must make sure that she is on the path to success. Father doesn't need to get involved when she has me by her side at all times."

"You're right," Milluki replied in annoyance, "Though Y/N is next in line to head the family, seems like dad is a little too eager for her to stay by his side, am I right?" He grumbled as he shoved a handful of chips into his mouth.

The 3 of them shared looks of confusion as Silva finally got up to exit his room.

All they could do is wait.

This is actually a really good question, I can't imagine any of them having a positive reaction to their most promising family member basically ending the family "tradition" it'd be a big loss and they won't be happy, accept alluka of.

WHAT IF: What if the Zoldycks had their most promising member go against their traditions with their own children?

SILVIA

● To say he was disappointed would be a huge understatement.

● Killua has seen his father upset before but to visibly see it on his face? It was scary, but he had you by his side to make it easier staying stern with his decision.

● He was very quiet, and it was somehow worse than him yelling. Just quietly staring you two down with his eyebrows furrowed and his eyes filled with a chilling rage. The room felt colder and you felt the fear of an upcoming fight just building, not to mention Killua tensing his muscles in preparation didn't help.

●Then his expression softened and he closed his eyes and sighed.

●"Fine, that's your decision but I can't say I'm not disappointed that you're willing to waste such potential."

● You were both relieved to not have to destroy your home and possibly loose limbs just for the sake of not putting your children through some trauma.

● He leaves without issues shockingly. He doesn't even ask to see the children again, if they approach he'll speak and tell them goodbye but he makes no issues.

● In the back of his head however he's thinking that assassin is just in their blood and eventually he'll get his way and those children will give into their urges.

KIKIYO

● To be fair, Killua didn't even want her to know you were pregnant or gave birth, she only found out because she forced illumi to tell her once he came back from Stalking you two.

● Since she knew it was hardly anything stopping her from visiting, and with you trying to keep the peace for the sake of the children Killua really couldn't just kill her at the front door.

● She dotted over her grandchildren and kept talking so fondly of how amazing they'd be as assasins how they'd be merciless and talented.

"They won't be assasins." You quickly spoke as you had a butler take the children into another room, Killua and you standing beside eachother and looking at her as her face went to shock.

●She was very verbal with her disappointment and anger.

"HOW DARE YOU DISRESPECT THE FAMILY LIKE THIS?! YOU THINK YOU CAN JUST MAKE THAT DECISION!?"

● You simply watched her, a bit amused at her tantrum and Killua was less than pleased to hear her loud banshee like screaming again.

"THESE CHILDREN MUST BE ASSASINS WHAT WOULD YOUR FATHER THINK?! YOU CAN'T JUST WASTE SUCH POTENTIAL-"

● It's hard stopping him really, especially with someone he resents as much as his mother with no fear of a fight.

"These are our children to do as we please until they get older and say otherwise and our decision is final no matter what you, or anyone else says." Killua makes it very clear with his stern tone and cold eyes as he forces his mother to stop her tantrum.

● Unfortunately her silence doesn't last long and she goes on a long loud rant about how he is betraying the family and being a disappointment.

● So to prevent Killua from lashing out you have security drag her out kicking and screaming. Literally.

ILLUMI

● Killua didn't even want him within one hundred feet of his children so this conversation was had far from your home.

● "You are wasting potential." He says in that blank tone, his large fish eyes staring into your soul as he shifts his gaze to you, making you uncomfortable enough to cringe. "Is it because of the woman? I'd assume such a distraction would effect you, had I known it'd be to such a severity I would have handled it long ago."

● His original plan was to use his pin on you, to shift your mentality to his liking so you'd convince Killua otherwise, and you didn't see it coming considering you hardly interacted with illumi since you and Killua were children.

● Killua however, having grown up with him saw it from a mile away and stood infront of you, immediately making his hostility known, not even hiding his bloodlust as he stares his older brother down.

●Disappointed with the obstacle Illumi sighs and puts the pin away, he's no idiot, a fight with Killua now that he's fully grown and unlocked his potential to its full is a death sentence waiting to happen, and now that you'll be made aware of what he was gonna do he won't risk fighting you either.

● "Fine, I won't. However I hope you know this is a foolish decision. Those children will be assasins, it's in their blood as much as it is in yours."

"Not if we have anything to say about it."

● Illumi stares at the two of you for an unnatural amount of time, it gets uncomfortable but then his gaze shifts to your home in the far distance.

● "Don't even think about it. You are to stay far away from my family, especially my children."

● Illumi looks back at Killua and then at you. "They are lovely assasins."

● Then he turns to leave.

● Out of everyone, Illumi is the worst member of the family to ever find out you two had children.

● One time one of the children noticed and you watched from afar as they held a conversation with him for about fifteen seconds before the drone left.

KALLUTO

● As one of the only siblings that directly Apologized and made an effort to rebuild a strained relationship with Killua Kalluto is the only assasin who was willingly told of your pregnancy and the birth of the children.

● They are happy for you both for having the children albeit confused about the fact that they won't be assasins.

● They question it at first but when Killua stays firm and explains it's too much for them they back down and respect his and your decision.

● They weren't exactly surprised considering Killua hated being an assasin and your background on being used because of your family. It's not surprising assasin business isn't something you'd want your children apart of.

● They don't want children so they don't understand your love for them, but they are respectful and leave it at you both not wanting it.

● Oh she was ecstatic when they were born. She lives with the two of you so of course she was first to know!

● She doesn't mind that they won't be assasins so when she finds now she shrugs it off. She'll love her nieces and nephews regardless.

There are times, late at night when Dabi comes to the shithole he calls home, extremely tired. He will just lay in bed, not even bothering to take off his clothes, not caring about any potential injuries or whether his staples are out of place. To him, those kind of nights are a living hell.

It is almost inevitable, how he will close his eyes, take a deep breath and then let his mind wander. And his mind never wanders around happy places.

But on the rare occassion it does, your face will pop up. It's a strange thing actually because he hasn't seen you in years and only knows how you currently look like because sometimes Shigaraki will bring up your family during future plans.

He was still living in the Todoroki household when he first met you. Back then his name was Touya.

His father had considered it necessary for the entire family to come with him to this... meeting -it couldn't have been further from the 'ge together' he had mentioned it would be. It only seemed natural back then, he had heard stories about your family and none of them was pleasant but somehow his father had managed to arrange a meeting with your father so they could discuss a possible treaty of some sorts.

He didn't want to admit it but he was scared. Whatever picture he had managed to see during searching through Endeavour's files contained nothing but sorrow.

Living with the Zoldyck family is scary..... and strange.

There was fear and the constant paranoia that you were going to die—either in the hands of Illumi himself or a member of his family, you didn't know which.

However, you have nothing to fear, Illumi, in his weird and creepy way, always finds a way to reassure you that as long as you love him (and only him) you have nothing to worry about!

Of course, it takes sometime to get used to the sinister and grim place—along with the unerving, and dark, humor some of the family members have. *cough* Milluki *cough*

Illumi, as well as the rest of the Zoldyck family, are well prepared to deal with your timid and skittish personality. 

Anything assassin related is kept to a low (demanded by Illumi) and you won't be exposed to any Nen until he feels as though you won't faint at the sight.

Surprisly, Illumi isn't as mean or harsh to you...but don't let that fool you. He is, without a doubt, a manipulator. The dark male could go two ways on how he treats you as you adjust to your new life.

Be submissive and accepting your fate will earn you more freedom (ie allowing you to accompany him and his family to social gatherings and being shown to the public. Heck, you might even be allowed to come along and watch him do is job, fun right?).

 Be difficult and distant...he will have his fun breaking you. You will be chained to him (literally) with no free will whatsoever.

  If you need to pee, he has to permit it. Oh? You're hungry? That's too bad! He's stuffed from dinner (in which you had to watch). Exhausted, my dear? Maybe you shouldn't have been a brat and you could sleep.

It depends on how you take it, but, eventually, you will start to love the male and he will bask in it.

Silvia and Zeno absolutely adore you. Zeno finding your "love story" with Illumi to be romantic as their parents and Silvia being glad that his eldest son has found a 'submissive' keeper. (Not like Illumi will ever let you go)

Kikyo however is pretty hard to get along with but she'll never seem to understand that. If she considers you an outsider still, then she is very cold and standoffish.

She'll even go as far as to try to chase you away with physical and verbal attacks. (Until Silvia intervenes at least)

It will become worse if she decides to treat you like family, she is very possessive of her children. So once she considers you good luck, contrats you have one protective and doting fan.

She will be a bit borderline creepy but hey that just means she likes you

Other than that, You get along with almost everyone in the house

almost everyone.

Milluki has a problem with you. 

Whether it's because he doesn't find you worthy of the Zoldycks' name or because he can't stand how caring and soft looking you are.

Maybe, it's because he has his own crush on you? 

Or perhaps he's upset because he can't play with the new toy? Either way, he finds you a useless nuisance and will make things difficult for you to adjust.

Mulling over the idea of Milluki having a crush on you, I can see him being a bit of a voyeur.

 Watching you and Illumi when you both indulge in sexual activities and sneaking peeks at you as you bath or sleep. 

He's jealous of his older brother and will eventually challenge him to a fight over you (of course that only happens when he manages to get close to you, which once again will be impossible). 

(And lets be honest would he really win against Illumi? I doubt it. But I bet it would be funny to see him fight haha)

All in all, living with the Zoldyck family is without a doubt overbearing and scary. But, be a good girl/boy and play along with Illumi and all will go smoothly. You will gain the families upmost respect and be treated like a member, and Illumi will treat you with the highest respect.

But be difficult and refuse to comply will only lead you with heartache and misery. Illumi won't hesitate to stick a couple needles into your head until you behave.

Hi! It’s me again! I’ve decided that whenever I manage to get all my current requests done (including that Kurapika one I have!) I’m just going to turn off requests.

I’m realising that I’m just not able to work on requests in the way I can work on my own writing, so until I feel more experienced and ready, I’ll just be writing for myself again.

But! I really hope you can enjoy these request pieces until I’ve cleared out my inbox!

You’d be surprised to hear it - but Illumi shares your hypersensitivity

(Insert my personal headcanon that Illumi is autistic himself)

He’s been trained to use it to help him in assassin work, and to not get overwhelmed, but internally, he knows how it feels to be surrounded by sensation and unable to escape

He might not pick up on discomfort very quickly, but once it gets through to him, he feels a surprising amount of empathy for your condition

In terms of how he’ll help, he… won’t

He’ll really try! Asking you what you need and getting it in a heartbeat, anything for his beloved, but he’ll probably just end up overwhelming you with questions anyway

Once you finally manage to explain that all you need is some quiet time alone, he’ll struggle to do so, feeling like he needs to be useful while you’re in such a vulnerable state

But not worry - he’ll come around, and start acting like a bodyguard not letting anyone near you while you seem overwhelmed

Meeting his family will be inevitable once you’ve started officially dating, and he probably won’t even consider that you might be nervous

He has the greatest family in the world - why would you be scared?

He can be a bit thick at times

Once it finally occurs to him that they’re, y’know, assassins, he’ll try to quell your worries

You don’t have to worry about them being loud - stoicism is quite prized in the family

You definitely don’t need to worry about them hurting you - as his (future) spouse you’re part of the family, and none of them would ever go out of their way to hurt you

He’ll take care of opening the gate, making sure your food isn’t poisoned, so on, so forth

While you’re there, Kikyo will flip between being your best friend and your worst enemy

She is happy with whatever makes her son happy, but she’s a bit annoyed that you’re not assassin material

Despite this, she is a lover of etiquette, and upsetting a guest is absolutely dreadful etiquette. She’ll berate any butler who accidentally upsets you, though her shrieking may be more upsetting than the initial issue

Zeno and Silva will be the most chill, obviously being a bit on the introverted side themselves

Zeno will probably have a few teasing words for you and his grandson, but that’s just the kind of grandfather he is

Silva won’t bother you much, if you meet him at all, since he’ll likely just stay in his room the whole time

The younger siblings are either going to make nuisances of themselves or really enjoy your company

If, by some miracle you get the chance to meet with Alluka, they’ll probably be grateful for someone who isn’t too loud, and they’ll try not to be overwhelming in return

Not saying they’ll manage it but they’ll try

Kalluto will like be one of the first ones introduced to you when you enter the grounds, and he’ll probably accompany you the entire time you’re there

It’s nice to have someone who silently shares your space when Illumi has to step away

Killua will be the worst in making a nuisance of himself

He won’t go out of his way to upset you or anything, he couldn’t care less

But he’ll try to annoy his brother, mostly on Cain instinct or whatever, so you’ll probably only have passing contact with him, if Illumi has anything to say about it

Milluki is another you might just not run into, but that’s probably for the best

His volume control is awful, either mumbling so quietly that he can’t be heard or screaming loud enough to make anyone flinch

You’ll likely only run into him at the family dinner table, where he’s too busy tapping at his phone as he eats to acknowledge or tease you

All in all, you’ve managed to land the least chaotic Zoldyck, and that’s saying something, but as long as they live, anyone who harms a hair on your head, won’t live.

One never really stops working for the Zoldyck family, well, at least that was the case for the esteemed workers in the house. Precarious posts in the estate such as butlers and gamekeepers held a much deeper affinity for the family than you’ll ever possess. Rather, you held a position in the house that required no weapon training background or the knowledge to impair vital organs efficiently.

You were a personal private chef along with a couple of others the Zoldyck family had at their disposal. Placement at the estate wasn’t quite as challenging as you thought it would be. It was a relief to know that cleaning and food service workers weren’t held up to such a high regard as other positions in the house.

Instead, the rules affixed were quite permissive and casual. One might assume such working contracts of the Zoldyck replicate the rules and regulations of a normal hospitality industry. You were granted a generous financial offer, unrestricted access outside of the estate and plus they had a great dental plan.

The only real downside of the whole ordeal was the ridiculous weights you’re forced to work with in the kitchen.

Last year however, you had requested a year off leave in which the head of the family fortunately accepted. You used that time leisurely, finding you were very much in desperate need of a break after working tirelessly for so long. Therefore, once you stepped a foot back into the mountain you find yourself refreshed and excited to work again.

Your co-workers greeted you exuberantly as you saw their familiar faces once again in the summer. You returned their sentiments with expensive foreign chocolates and sparkling bottles you’ve purchased over the time you spent travelling. While gratefully accepting your gifts, it wasn’t long until the playful conversations start once again, with Deidre, a senior chef, jokingly griped that younger generation these days were too entitled with their jobs.

Being fortunate enough to get along with them made your occupation a much for pleasant experience.

Sharpening your chef knife against the steel after a busy dinner service, the kitchen turned quiet as everything was neatly put away to their respective places. The only work left for the night was to prep for the morning in which Deidre, without fail, had already finished the final fold of croissant for tomorrow’s breakfast.

A cold nudge at your side caught your attention as you saw Aiki hold up your favourite beverage and cocked her head to the back door.

Closing the exit door behind you, you took a seat on the stacked wooden crates as you worked your drink open. Aiki leaned against the brick walls as she inhaled vapour generously into her lungs before exhaling deeply creating a thick cast of smoke carried away by the wind. Both of you took in the cool night breeze and the iridescent lights the stars casted as you basked in the peaceful silence in contrast to the hectic environment just an hour before.

“You know you seemed like you changed after your break.” Aiki commented nonchalantly.

“Have I? In what sense?”

“I don’t know, you seem more knowledgeable now that you’ve seen the world and all that, I feel like you’re also more relaxed too- more… zen.”

“Zen?” you chuckled in disbelief before taking a sip.

“You know who else changed around here?” Aiki shoots a mischievous smile your way.

“Who?”

“Milluki.”

You almost choked, not liking where this conversation was going.

“Really? Haven’t noticed.” Which was a total lie. You have noticed Milluki’s completely transformed self but never acknowledged it out loud. When you arrived back to your post as a kitchen staff, you’ve stolen glances at his direction, believing at first to be a completely different person before you heard his voice.

She smirks at your comment knowing you’re lying through your teeth but decided not to comment on it.

“Well he looks great,” Aiki took another inhale from her vape. “I don’t know if it’s a new mandatory regimen he’s required to do, but it’s definitely paying off.”  

“Yeah I guess.” You commented absentmindedly.

“So you agree?”

“What?”

“You admit he looks good?”

You took a hesitant pause before replying, “yeah, yeah he looks good now. Though my opinion doesn’t matter but I’m happy for him.”

Aiki hummed at your response as she shifted her stance against the wall while looking at you with that glint in her eyes. “I wonder if he still has a small crush on you.”

“Alright, I’m leaving.”

“Waitwaitwait-“ She held her one of her curled hand to her mouth as she laughed aloud before gently holding your shoulder, urging you to stay. “I was just wondering- I mean am I wrong? Does he not give you the puppy dog eyes anymore?”

“No,” you groaned. “You guys have to let this joke go it’s getting so old.”

“It’s not a joke if it’s real,” she refuted. “Besides he’s well fit now, I can’t help but think you two will go great together.”

“Well what about you, huh?” You turned the focus to her.

“What about me?” she asked confusingly with a smile on her face.

“You and Gotoh?”

Instead of being embarrassed Aiki turned more confused before she giggled at your futile accusation. “Where did that come from?”

“Well Gotoh and you would make such a cute couple.”

“Oh come on that’s gross,” she rolled her eyes. “You’re just saying nonsense to spite me and besides my claims here are actually based on facts.”

As much as you would like to admit otherwise, you had actually sensed the younger son’s fondness of you. You had no idea just exactly when he started looking at you differently but it was no denying he had some type of feelings for you.  

Milluki would always remain far away for him to watch you work and at first you would ignore it, believing him to be an innocent bystander just curious as to how the kitchen operates or how his meals were being made. However it got more obvious when you were the only one working by cleaning the dishes and putting them away.

Often times, he would specifically ask for you to make him his meals and request that you bring it to his room. But you never stayed long enough for him to reply after you present his food to him.

There was this one instance in which the kitchen staff would never live down where you stacked plates on the top drawers. The plates were stacked so high you had trouble getting the last one in before Milluki came in and silently took it off of you and placed it on his own. He lingered behind you for a moment and you swore you felt him sniff the top of your head, smelling your shampoo before slowly backing away and disappearing into his room.

If you were by yourself that night, you would convince yourself that it was all in your head. Alas you weren’t alone and Giovanni, a mostly silent man, arched his brow in perplexity at the scene before him, nearly burning the scallops he was so delicately cooking. You hoped that he would remain the stoic and quiet man he usually was but in the morning, everyone was talking about it. Apparently he was immune to anything but gossip.

“Just think about it.”

“No.”

“You know it’s not a bad thing to be attracted by looks. Just because you don’t find him appealing back then doesn’t mean you have to hold on to it forever now that he’s a new man, I mean look at how much he’s trying for you.”

“You better not let Madame hear you say that, that’s like insulting him and his efforts. Besides my feelings never changed, he’s just our employer that’s all.”

“So you’re not attracted to him at all? Not even now that he has muscles that rival his dad?”

“No.”

“Not even a tiny bit-“

“Nope.”

She shrugged, “Alright.” There’s a bit of a defeat in her voice but her tone still carries a reverberation of quirk.

Peculiarly she comes behind you to hug your back, crouching a bit because of your sitting position. It was odd but you let her rest affectionately on you as you sipped the last remnants of your drink. It was when she sniffed your hair exaggeratingly did you jerk up, no doubt Aiki was trying to jab at your past mortifying moment.

“Ok- you’re done, I’m going back to headquarters now.”

Thankfully the conversation from the night never continued when morning came.

In the late afternoon, you were counting the lobster tails in the back when Deidre called for you. While wrapping your apron back around your waist, she informed you that Milluki came down with a fever and that he requested that you make him something soothing to bring to his room.

You raised your brows at the order, not that it was out of the ordinary that Milluki asked that you prepare his meals, but that he came down with the flu. With how strong the Zoldycks people make them out to be, it’s situation like this that make you realise they’re only human.

You decided to make a simple congee with the usual toppings he preferred and added some flakes of truffle and fresh ginger to top it all off. Covering the bowl with a fitted lid, you hoped that it was still steaming hot when you reached his room.

Traversing through the hallways to his bedroom, you knocked and on the wooden door and presented yourself orderly. When you heard the voice on the other side of the door mentioning you to come in, you sucked in a breath before opening it.

Upon seeing his room, you realised that his decorum had changed. No longer was there endless shelves of figurines and comic books, rather it has decreased to the top shelf. Also the real-life sized sculptures of his favourite animated girls was gone from the corner of his room and his bed lacked the body pillows you were so used to seeing the housemaids hung from the laundry. However his impressive PC setup remained against the walls.

Your quick examination of his room was interrupted with a weak cough. Milluki sat up against his bed as he shifted one of his legs up, covering his mouth with a hand as he looked at you expectantly.

Milluki wore simple grey sweatpants and a black fitted shirt that accentuated his broad shoulders and defined muscles. Aiki wasn’t exaggerating when she said he could give his older brother a run for his money. However, through his changed physical appearance, you could still make out the familiar features of Milluki. Those sharp eyes that watched you set his bowl down from the tray was undoubtedly his.

Opening the lid and setting it to the side, you cast your eyes down politely as you presented the dish before him. You prepared to take your leave as you took the tray and lid with you before he grabbed your hand swiftly.

“And how am I supposed to eat this?” He complained petulantly. When you looked back at him did he flinch as if he realised what he just said. “Cool this down for me,” he avoided your face and released your hand, awkwardly unsure of what to say next. “… Please.”

You glanced down at the steaming congee and began to stir it around, the beauty from the presentation of the dish vanished as you mixed the ingredients together. While you did so, you hesitantly took a seat on the edge of his bed. You didn’t realise your actions when he began to stare at you again. Not knowing what to do with yourself, you focused solely on the hot congee as if your job depended on it. It wasn’t your fault, you never spared more than ten seconds in his room, much less being alone with him.

Milluki wonders when you would comment on the tension between you and him. In his mind he’s confessed and kissed you more times than you deserve. He dreams of you coming to him, professing your feelings to him while he graciously brings you into his arms, accepting your declarations of love. He’s toyed with the fantasies for so long it made him so angry with every single day that passes that you don’t.

He believed he’s not that emotionally dependent on you, that you were just some eye candy to him around the house and that his girls could satiate his needs for him better than you ever could. However when you took your leave did he actually realise how much he missed you. As his appearance changed, his feelings only grew deeper for you every day. With the arms he now uses to lift dreadful weights, he only muses how you would fit perfectly inside.

With how much time he’s dedicated to exercising, Milluki founds himself more useful than before to the family business. Therefore, with the extra time he spent on working, the interest to keep up with his hobbies dulled. His newly profound demeanour was recognised by his parents as they appraised him unctuously. Milluki thinks he finally grew up on the right foot.

Nevertheless, the only compliments he seeks are yours. He wanted you to notice his changed self, he’s done everything from body to mind to appeal more to you but you remain so frustratingly silent stirring his congee around as if the man of your dreams isn’t sitting right here. Pride is one pill he can’t swallow and yet he feels so small when standing next to you. Like he’s still that unassuming teenager that pined for you, the one that you wouldn’t look twice at.  Older and wiser now, he figured if you wouldn’t say anything, he would.

“Why can’t you still look at me.”

“Pardon?” You flickered your gaze from the bowl to him.

“Three years you’ve served me, and yet you never once properly looked at me.” Milluki stated as he watched you open and close your mouth, ambivalent of your next choice of words. He figured it was the way he looked, but no matter how much effort he’s put into himself, you’re still avoiding him as if his gaze burns you.

Scoffing, he leaned his head back against the headboard before confidently stating a lie, “I’m not doing this for you. I’m doing this just in case they want me to become the head of the family, with how Killua decided to frolic with his so-called friends now.”

“I’m sorry, I’m not sure if I’m following you.” You’re really at a loss at what you should say to please him but you don’t dare comment on his weight knowing it’s such a sensitive and a personal topic, hell you would never even bring it up to your closest girlfriends, but was it different for guys? Did he want you to acknowledge it?

“Shit,” he softly cursed as he scowled at your reply. “You really want me to spell it out for you, don’t you?” He took your hesitant silence as a yes making him roll his eyes in annoyance.

“I like you.” The way he casually strung your name into the statement made your whole body freeze. “I’ve had for a long time so don’t give me that piss poor excuse that you didn’t notice it.”

His confrontation only verified the tension you’ve avoided like plague.

“And I knew that you were embarrassed by me.”

That accusation made your chest tight as you flustered out, “I would neve-“

“Bullshit.” Milluki cut you off as he furrowed his grows. “I know what your little friends say, you think I wonder how I could live without you, don’t you?!”

Biting your lip, you looked down in discomfort. What were you supposed to do? Culinary school never taught you how to deal with situations like these. You choose your words as carefully as you could without angering him much.

“I’m very much flattered but whether you’ve changed or not I’m afraid I can’t return your affections. But I am confident that there is a more deserving girl or-“

“Stop fucking lying,” he chuckled bitterly. “You think I’m hot shit now, don’t you? Just how long do you plan to keep this up?”

“I-…” You stopped for a second before you decided to say what he wants to hear. “Yes, yes I do, you look really nice.”

Milluki breathed out a sigh of relief as he easily pulled your waist closer to him to the point where you nearly sat atop on his lap while he looked at you fervently.

“So then be with me, I’m tired of you pushing me away like this.” He said in the softest voice you’ve heard from this interaction while he searched your eyes as you racked your brain trying to worm yourself out of this one.

“I can’t.” You tried your best to convey those words as sympathetic as you can.

“Why not?”

“It’s against the rules to be in relationships.”

“Then you’re fired.” He shot back in exasperation.

Your mouth grew dry at his statement. Was he really going to go this far for you?

“No please, I-I can’t just leave my job.” Your voice wavered through your desperate plead but it wasn’t reaching Milluki.

“I’ll give you as many Jennys as you want, just name it and it’s yours.”

“It’s not like that- I like working I-“

“I’ll get you another job near here that pays just as well.”

Milluki watched you in apprehension, sensing your reluctance in his proposals. Growing weary at your rejection, he clutched on your sides possessively. “Just tell me what I got to do here.”

Milluki briefly let you go to cough into the corner of his arm. You looked at him with a pitiful gaze. Your heart wrenched guiltily knowing full well you didn’t reciprocate any of his endearing efforts for you. Setting the forgotten congee on his bedside table that has gone lukewarm by now, you wrapped your arms against you to comfort yourself against this awkward scene.

“Perhaps I’ve been a little standoffish,” you murmured faintly, hoping he wouldn’t catch that just in case you decided to change your mind. Unfortunately, Milluki looked back at you with the same hawk like stare, urging you to continue.

“I guess- I mean maybe I’ve… grown to like you too,” there was a painful pause and you wondered if he had detected the lie in your words but when you glanced back at him you saw how besotted he was to notice.

Before you could continue he caught you up in his arms again so that you were properly sitting on top of his lap. “You like me?” he cockily called out your name to tease you and quirked one of his brows up as if he wasn’t begging for your reciprocity a minute ago.

“Yes?” Quickly following up your answer you resumed, “but to make this work, perhaps it would be best to keep it a secret from everyone.”

“Mmhmm.” He hummed at your words as he looked up at you. From such an angle it was one of the first times you’ve noticed how boyishly handsome he was when he wasn’t scowling.

“From everyone,” you repeated, hoping he was listening to you whilst he caressed your sides tenderly. “I really like working here so if you could keep it from your family and me from my co-workers, I wouldn’t be let go.”

You decided this would be the best. Entertaining the idea of what Milluki had in mind was something you could work with. Keeping it a secret was also an optimal choice for you as nothing would really change and it saved you from the embarrassment and attention it would garner from the people living and working on the mountain.

It was heartless but this guy was also an assassin, he could deal with it. Nevertheless you give this ‘relationship’ two months before he decided to call it quits. I mean if he finally saw just how there’s not much to you than he thought there was, you would be free of his unwanted infatuation.

“Fine with me.” 

Meanwhile Milluki could already see himself stealing you away from your work and pulling you to a quiet corner where he could make you his own. He couldn’t wait to spend time with you where he could rightfully hold you and kiss you like he’s replayed in his mind many times before.

Fluttering his eyes closed as he leaned in, you quickly pecked his cheek awkwardly not wanting to entertain him so soon. You held his hands and forced his hold away from you while he looked at you confusingly.

“You’re still sick.” You reminded with a bashful smile, relieved when his frown quickly disappeared.

Once he took your prepared dish into his hands, you made a prompt comment that you would be needed for dinner service before anyone gets suspicious. Milluki acquiesced in a disgruntled manner, unused to letting you be pulled away just when he finally had you.

“You’ll return at once right?” He asked hopelessly. “You’ll be the one to bring my dinner?”

“Of course.” When you picked up your things you made sure the stride to the doorway look as natural as possible instead of giving the impression of haste. “Get well soon,” You mentioned airily as he smirked mid bite before softly closing the door behind you.

Letting out a shaky breath you wonder how a supposedly quick trip turned out to be a scandalous rendezvous. No matter, you’re just praying the day Milluki decide to break it off would come soon.

However, unbeknownst to you, Milluki plans on never letting you go.
