They don’t tell you this in school, but Hux often thinks of Ben when he goes hunting, imaging him in his prey’s place, bleeding out and helpless.

Question Game. What does self-care look like for you? Biggest lie you ever told? What is your biggest heartbreak? How do you keep yourself somewhat sane? + Coinless Jason
(For the sake of my sanity and everyone else's, I'm going with the open Huntsman AU version of Jason, because at least he is carefully curated in my head for vengeful activity in later works and this gives me a reason to talk about him.)
What Does Self-Care Look Like?:
Self-Care for Jason is having access to shaving tools and eating a meal that smells good and has a calorie count that will keep him alive for three days if he becomes trapped somewhere. It's not exactly healthy to focus on things that he had to rely on through the goodwill of Drakkon or Skull's trickery in their shared hallway in their cells, but it makes him feel less jittery than if he just leaves his stubble to grow or lets the staff of Promethea or the Rangers of the Prime Universe provide him with food.
Biggest lie you ever told?:
There never seems to be an end of the lies he's had to tell to make sure the Omega Rangers allow them to keep using Safehaven's Master Arc.
That he's sure that everything in the Coinless universe is going fine with Drakkon stuck in the Prime even though they left Billy still under Drakkon's obedience spell and he was too clever to be left to his own devices.
That he was perfectly healthy because Drakkon kept losing bets to the Red Ranger even after being in what amounted to solitary confinement for a little over seventeen years.
That the Green Dragon Coin from Drakkon was being cleansed with ease while they waited on their collection of turned Sentries to be returned back from the timelines and dimensions that the Grid had accidentally (or meaningfully) pulled them to when The Void was brought back into the Grid.
But if pressed, he might have to go with the fact that he ever said out loud, "Everything's going to be fine," before Drakkon stole the White Light from him... Maybe.
What is your biggest heartbreak?:
Watching Skull go through a two year cycle of being made to dehydrate, starve, and drown in the cell across from him without being able to do anything but make it worse when he cursed out or goaded Drakkon about not being able to PROVE Skull was a spy.
That and the time Jason got double pneumonia, was totally out of his mind calling for his mother, and woke up one morning a year to the day from being freed by Promethea to find himself out of his armor prison, curled up in a ball with his head on Skull's lap, the man brushing his hair like he was five--just the way his mother used to do it for him.
It was the best he'd felt in years and he'd gone back to sleep thinking it was a dream or a hallucination and not something to worry about. Which was completely false as he'd woken up hours later, his fever broken, to the reality that Skull had in fact managed to get out of his own cell, through all of the locks and codes for Jason, gotten the Red Ranger out of the prison armor without setting off the alarms, and had pissed Drakkon off horrendously.
All of this without breaking any rules. He had not tried to escape, he had not tried to help Jason escape, and Jason had never seen Drakkon shocked into silence at someone addressing him--to his face--about showing ethical obligations towards the prisoners under his authority.
Drakkon had let Jason remain inside his cell without being bound back into the prison suit for three days, but Skull had been removed to somewhere else during that entire time. And when he'd been placed back into the armor, Drakkon had a showcase set up on a screen across from him so he could see a movie showing off exactly how "merciful" he was when his authority was questioned--even by a sentry Captain whose charges of treason and espionage hadn't been confirmed.
The recording had sound, but there was never any screaming involved. The only screaming and crying came from Jason when Drakkon grinned and told him Skull would be back only once Finster had sown him back up again.
How do you keep yourself somewhat sane?:
Observing that there were, in fact, versions of Tommy Oliver that became wonderful fathers and husbands, teachers, teammates, friends, and even martyrs and being allowed to realize that Jason's mercy wasn't a defect in his character.
Talking with Kimberly in the aftermath of The Void, both of them in Ranger Colors again, though the White on Jason took a little getting used to, it wasn't as painful as he thought once Saba was taken back from Drakkon despite the madman's screaming and cursing at theft and ownership and how he'd won. The two of them were damaged horribly, but in different ways that made them both think they'd they'd gotten off luckier than the other; as fucked up as that was.
Seeing that even in the heart of darkness that was Drakkon's palaces and army, there were some good people that had helped the Coinless in their own ways under a guiding hand of an ally, even when Skull was in prison and couldn't offer a word without all of them at risk of being horribly killed.
Planning out how to return to the Coinless world and relieve Billy from his duty as regent, as well as remove the spell on him.
And learning music. Not just songs, but how to read sheet music and even play an instrument or two, despite having not special talent for it. Given that it had built him up back into being something close to sane after so many years completely alone except for Drakkon, it seemed the most obvious thing to embrace in his freedom.

RadioApple Valentine's Week 2025 Day 4 - Gifting Flowers
Whatever Lucifer was expecting after yesterday's disaster, it certainly wasn't coming to his workshop to find a rare, carnivorous Devil's Orchid sitting on the counter, its petals open and apple-scented lure curling below.
Got to use some gouache with this one in addition to my usual markers!

Did someone ask for angst?
No?
Oh well.
Lore drop: James was cursed seven years ago after trespassing and stealing from a goblin mage. Within mere hours, his size had grown and he’d gained sharper teeth, claws, and pointed ears. He fled the village, in fear of what could happen to him. He left behind his daughter and his partner without a word. Frank thought he lose his love all those years ago, but we see them now face to face, and Frank doesn’t even realize it yet. He’s in denial: unwilling to face the fact that the “beast” he’d been hunting for nearly 7 years was actually his lost love.
Anyway here’s a little ref sheet kinda

I wanna hear more about huntsman!Konig, if you have anything
I’m always waiting for someone to ask about my fucked up little AUs
Also, why do I keep making reader inserts that lack social skills? No….. it couldn’t be….
König leads a fairly isolated existence. Far away from the village center— it’s hard to trap animals in a place that carries the noise of humankind. So, in that way, it’s not so different from where you lived before.
But god… it’s so much warmer. He always has a fire going in the colder months. Every piece of furniture is covered in pelts. And of course, sleeping in a bed next to him… it’s like a dream.
He delivers the pig heart in a jewelry box to your stepmother. It seems to satisfy her, for the moment. But König still makes his trips to town alone, even though you no longer wear the veil. Like stolen goods, he’s afraid you’ll be discovered and repossessed, or worse— coveted by an even more depraved thief.
He’s surprised by your utility. For a princess, you have quite the work ethic. Though you aren’t a tanner, you do know the bare basics of gutting an animal. Time in the kitchens, and all that. He discovered this by surprise when he set a rabbit down in the kitchen, walked away, and came back to you slicing a neat line down its soft belly. Maybe it’s because you dressed in white when he first saw you, but he thinks you look quite pretty with a splash of red on your hands.
In the original tale, Snow White’s on a journey through her own subconscious in a sort of coming of age tale. She’s accompanied by representations of ego as she reckons with her existence being placed in the context of gender— the conclusion to her journey is acceptance of the male “other”, of seeing and being seen by the opposite sex. At least, in some interpretations.
So I imagine you as Snow White in this scenario to be going through something similar— albeit at a slightly older stage.
König is the first man you’ve ever truly known besides your father. Many of the servants in the castle were women, those that were men were mostly older, and most all of them were forbidden from speaking anything more than cordial necessities to you.
König has known the company of women, but never one so innocent as you.
He promised to keep you safe, which one would think means he cannot prey upon you. At least, he tells himself as much. And yet…
You have no idea what to do in the company of a man. Or perhaps the company of anyone. And it shows. But the huntsman really isn’t any better.
You bathe together. He isn’t comfortable with you going alone, and being out of his sight. And you’re not even socialized enough to feel the shame of it when he can see your bare skin.
The first time he touches your skin is when he has your hand gently pinned to some paper— he’s tracing it to make a pattern for his leatherwork. You’ll need a pair in the cold weather.

Hux loves to hunt game and humans, but is also against the killing of insects unless you’re going to use them for something. He wouldn’t hurt a fly, but he would gladly shoot a deer. He would kill a butterfly if he wanted to pin it— intentionally squishing an ant is a no go though.

Ideas for my EAH AU
I just wanted to post some ideas to share with you guys, see what you think!
- Sparrow is a full fledge punk, ideals and looks. He is one of the first to become fully rebel after Legacy Day, though he still wants to be like his dad he believes people should choose their life. He steals from the royals A LOT. Everyone knows it’s him but he’s managed to leave no trace so he can’t be reported for it. (credits to @oklotea)
- Hunter isn’t super relevant but one thing about him is he sees the good in everyone. He is one of Raven’s only friends pre Legacy Day, unlike other students he sees past what their story indicates of her and works to get to know her. He realizes she is a total sweetheart and actually has a one sided crush on her for a while.
- Jillian is one of the main characters, she basically replaces Maddie as one of the main rebels. She is the first character to befriend Raven after what occurs on Legacy Day, she supports Raven’s choice and also declares herself as a Rebel.
- Darling is the daughter of the White Queen in this AU. She is the product of an affair between King Charming and the White Queen, so she’s still related to Daring and Dexter. She’s raised in Wonderland and is closest with Lizzie and Chase before attending Ever After High.
- The main characteristic of Daring is that he is vain, not selfish. In the show (epic winter) he’s said to be selfish, which doesn’t make sense, vain would have made much more sense. He saves people, or ‘damsels’ all the time, in efforts of following his destiny. Even with his heroic traits, he’s extremely obsessed with his looks, no hair out of place, nails have to be cut perfectly, etc. I have the idea that this thought process was influenced by his parents, if you couldn’t already tell King and Queen Charming are NOT good people.

The Huntsman's Mission
Tumblr media
My third entry for Bucky Barnes Birthday Bingo (hosted by @avengers-assemble-bingo). This time we're getting the Royalty AU with a bit of a fairy tale twist. All of this can be blamed on Halsey's Castle. This story just wrote itself once I listened to it a few times on repeat (not a hardship because I love the song).
Bucky Barnes Masterlist | Main Masterlist
Pairing: Huntman!Bucky Barnes x Princess!Reader
Other characters: Steve Rogers
Summary: Your evil stepmother, the queen, has decided to do away with you, so she enlists the Huntsman to complete the task. It turns out the Huntsman is none other than your friend, Jamie Barnes. The real question is if he's going to go through with her command or find some way to save you.
Word Count: ~1330
Warnings: threat of death/violence (not by Bucky); bound character; impending death of character (Reader); twist ending; nothing too graphic but implied; lmk if I missed anything
A/N: I'm not saying I could be talked into making this a full-fledged fic, but I could absolutely make this into a full-fledged fic if there's enough interest. It's definitely a bit outside what I usually write, but I think that's why it definitely fascinates me to keep going and build this world up.
A/N2: Bucky goes by Jamie in this story, but it is Bucky.
I do not give permission to have my works copied, translated, reposted, or fed into an AI machine.
****
It shouldn't have happened like this.
You should be back in your castle, in your old room, where you're loved and cherished by your father and mother. You should be happily trying to get out of your lessons while finding solace in your many hobbies. It hadn't been like your mother and father hadn't doted on you.
It'd all gone so wrong, so fast.
One minute, you had a happy family and a happy kingdom.
The next, your mother was gone.
Your father remarried mere months later.
Your new stepmother turned out to be a real witch, complete with magical powers. She'd used them to banish your father to some place unknown. She'd stripped you of your title and tossed you into the servants' quarters where you were expected to earn your keep. She'd transformed your happy kingdom into a sad and dreary one as she hoarded all its beauty and wealth for herself, leaving none for your people.
When you thought she couldn't do worse, she did.
You found yourself staring into the soulless eyes of one of your oldest and truest friends. A boy now turned into a young man. One that has seen war beyond his years and bore the scars of countless battles. His dark hair hung almost to his shoulders, situated just so one couldn't make out more than shadows across his features.
So transformed himself, you almost didn't recognize him.
Huntsman.
That's what he called himself.
He'd bound your hands tight with rough rope before yanking you off your tiny cot. His steps dragged you from the palace and paraded through all those that served you and with you over the years. Your soft pleas to stop went unheard as he kept going even as you stumbled and tripped behind him. Your shame and confusion not once helping with the matter at hand.
"Why are you doing this, Jamie?" you practically shouted once he'd taken you beyond the castle's gates. "Please, you're my friend. Do you hate me this much? My family?"
Icy blue eyes slammed into yours. His hands jerked at the rope until you stumbled right into him. He didn't let you fall though, grabbing you around the shoulders. Leaning in until your faces were mere centimeters apart, his voice, raspy from prolonged disuse, dripped with desperation, trembling with a shaky breath, "I have no choice, princess. The queen has given me no choice."
His answer rendered you speechless for all of two seconds, snapping back, "We all have a choice."
"Not this time," he said, shaking his head and turning his back to you once more. His hand tugged at the short rope and dragged you onward.
You'd lost track of how long you'd been forced to walk. The sun had been high in the sky when he'd first pulled you out of your room with your hands bound. Now, the sun had started its slow descent at the horizon, the bottom already dipping out of sight. The castle, once so majestic with the sun highlighting it, had disappeared from your sight as you traversed the uneven stones and dirt beneath your feet. The same feet that had begun to ache in such a way that you were certain you'd have blisters from the too-tight and overly worn slippers that adorned them.
It wasn't until the sun had dipped completely, leaving only the softest rays to highlight the area, that this Huntsman, your once-sweet Jamie, halted his steps. His gaze surveyed your surroundings with a keenness that had you scooting closer for fear that something dangerous lurked nearby, waiting to attack at its earliest convenience.
You jolted when a low hum escaped him. The noise so unlike any of the grunts and puffed breaths he'd let loose during your long trek. It took you a moment to realize it was a pleased sound.
Glancing around his broad shoulders, you soon discovered why.
A small band of men blocked your further passage along the roadway. They each had a bearing about them that didn't exactly spell comfort in your opinion, but their presence seemed to settle something within your captor. His shoulders relaxed and his breathing smoothed out.
"Thought you'd be late," he said, his voice gruff as he acknowledged the group. "You get everything I told you to?"
The man in the middle stepped forward, giving you the first real glimpse of him.
It took everything in you not to gasp at the man's appearance, so unlike the way he'd looked the last you'd seen him. The possibility of such a transformation should've been impossible, but then so should an evil queen capable of magic.
"Took us a bit, but yeah, we got it," Steve said, his gaze moving towards you. A grin spread across his face upon seeing what had to be a surprised expression on yours. "Ah, wondered if you'd recognize me, princess. Glad to see you haven't forgotten."
"I've never forgotten a single person in my kingdom," you huffed with an indignant tone. "I'm my father's daughter after all."
Steve's smile softened as he regarded you, nodding. "That you are, princess. Silly of me to have forgotten that."
Silence descended briefly between you all.
In that time, Jamie turned toward you, pulling out a large knife. One quick, efficient strike had your bindings falling away. His gaze met yours through his long strands before he shifted to meet Steve's own curious gaze. "Keep her safe. Take her far away from here. The queen must never know what's happened or it'll be all our lives. You understand that, punk?"
"Yeah, I got it." Steve nodded. "We'll take her and keep her safe, jerk."
Apparently satisfied, Jamie allowed himself a final glance in your direction, murmuring, "Take care of yourself, princess."
"Wait," you said, reaching out and grabbing hold of his jacket, "you're not going back there? Please, Jamie, I just got you back."
The corner of his lip curved upward for a mere second before his face turned almost stone-like again.
A sob threatened to rip out of you as you demanded, "At least tell me we'll see each other again. I can't let you go back without that promise."
His stony countenance cracked the smallest bit, a shaky breath working its way out of him. His face twisted as though he'd tasted something bitter as he promised, "We'll see each other again."
The lie rested between you, but that lie gave you some hope that it could become a truth. You would cling to that lie as long as you could. As long as you didn't have proof that something had happened to him. It would be a lie that would lead to your mission to retake everything the evil queen, your stepmother, had taken from you. It would be the lie that liberated your people and restored you to your rightful place, not as princess but as queen.
*****
James Barnes watched from the shadows as you left with Steve and his small band of men.
He'd done exactly as he'd promised he'd do for your father all those years ago. He'd kept you safe from the clutches of your evil stepmother, and he'd keep doing it as long as he drew breath.
With you safely tucked away, he made quick work of the poor creature needed to complete his subterfuge. If his mind kept traveling back to you and how beautiful you'd grown, he couldn't help it. His hands had long since memorized the movements necessary to carry out his work while his mind wandered.
It took mere moments before he filled the sack with the remnants he needed, hefting it over his shoulder and trudging back the way he had come.
Maybe, just maybe, he'd get the chance to see you again.
Of all the lies he's told over the years, this was the one he really wanted to turn into a truth. He wanted to be by your side as you reclaimed everything you deserved and more.

Are some people immune to MK’s necklace ? And could someone recognize it as an item from the celestial realm ?
Some folks can if they are used to seeing through Glamors. Like, Wukong's gold vision for instance. Some though, have trained themselves to look through Glamors.
One person in Taken, besides Wukong, will notice that MK is wearing an item from the Celestial realm. And, as a "Hunter" his whole job is to find those in hiding. So he can pick up pretty quickly that MK isn't what he thinks he is.
