Stars and Teardrops

Hisoka x Reader

Synopsis: You didn't know just how intimate painting his face would be until you tried it. Now you can't resist doing it before he leaves the house.

His hands rested low on your hips, thumbs caressing the bare skin peeking out from your shorts. You were focused, tongue between your teeth as you balanced your wrist on his cheek. "You're such a pretty little thing" he purred up at you, fingers digging into your flesh as you let out a groan.

"Don't talk I'm focusing" you muttered as you let the paintbrush touch his skin. The cold pink paint made him breathe out a quiet moan as you carefully outlined a star on his right cheek. Your eyes narrowed as you got closer, trying to see if your lines were even or not. "Y/n" Hisoka whispered, golden eyes flicking from your focused look to your lips, he just wanted a taste-

He had leaned forward to kiss you but you let out a grunt and pushed him back. "You're going to make me mess up!" You huffed out before grabbing his jaw with your free hand, steadying him as you repositioned yourself so you were slightly hovering over him. He silenced himself and his racing heart as he allowed you to manhandle him, you always were such a perfectionist. "I'm sure it's perfect-"

"AH there!"

A smile formed on his lips at the sight of your satisfied grin, but you didn't pay him any mind as you turned to the paint pot. Gathering more pink paint, you once again ripped him closer as you carefully filled in the star. If it was anyone else handling him like this, they would have been dead. But you were different, always have been, always will be.

You breathed out a sigh of relief as the star was done, quietly muttering to yourself about what color the teardrop, which you were going to do next, should be. "What outfit are you wearing" you finally stated as you sat back, your weight once more being applied to his lap. He only smirked at you as his hands tried to move your hips against him. Clicking your tongue, you ignored him and grabbed the green pot of paint, knowing it would match whatever it was he was going to wear.

Hisokas lips attached to your neck, his hands moving to wrap his arms around your waist, pulling you into him. "Hisoka" you moaned out, finally giving in to the way he was making you feel, "You have to be somewhere in an hour"

"I don't want to leave the house anymore" he retorted. His teeth dug lightly into the junction between your neck and shoulder, earning a yelp from you. The paintbrush fell from your hand as you plunged your fingers into his pink hair. "What do you want to do then" your breathing was labored as you awaited his reply, but all you got was him flipping you over so your back was against the bed, "I have a couple ideas... But none of them involve you painting my face"

i need to stop jumping ahead of media club plus in the hxh anime because i just end up more antsy for new episodes than i would have been if i were just going off my memory but hitting episode 99 before them is making me so crazy. sending out a psychic plea to keith j carberry to end the episode after next on episode 99 because it would be so funny for jack to have no idea who that is all over the new ending theme.

Hello, how are you? I don't know if you've answered this or not (sorry if you have). Can I ask, why you love Hunterx Hunter (what made this series special to you)? Is it love at first read/watch for you? Do you also Yu Yu Hakusho at least half as much as your love for HxH? Who is the better antagonists & protagonists to you, from HxH or YYH?

This is a lot of questions to tackle, so I'll answer some in-depth and quickly touch on others.

It's hard for me to summarize why I love HxH so much, there are a lot of factors! I could go on about it at length easily, but I'll do my best to go over it briefly for this post. I actually didn't fall for it right away--I started it rather lightly and with the expectation that it probably wouldn't fit my tastes, as I'm picky and usually not big on shounen series (with a few exceptions). It wasn't really until late in Chimera Ant Arc that it went from a series I was enjoying but not totally sold on, to a series I love. By the time I finished the 2011 anime, I had cried over it several times and was fully sold. I only became more obsessed from there.

I think the two biggest factors of what make me adore HxH so much boil down to:

How much I love Gon and Killua and their relationship

How brilliant a storyteller Togashi is and how beautifully he writes characters and really just about everything, and how imbued with emotion and insight and philosophy the series is as a result

Both of these aspects are deeply important to me. It defied my expectations of it constantly, and as I've continued to revisit and analyze the series I've only found more and more to love and appreciate about HxH! It really feels like a series that's like a soulmate to me, as silly as that might sound--it just connects for me on so many different levels, and, even after almost 8 years now, I'm still constantly sustained by and enthralled by it.

I do definitely enjoy Yu Yu Hakusho too, although not to the same degree as HxH. You can actually read some of my impressions I wrote up a few years ago (when I first finished it) in this document if you'd like. It's a very charming series with great characters, and I had a wonderful time with it, but because it tends to play the shounen tropes more straight than HxH (HxH subverts and plays with them much more), I found it didn't fit my personal tastes quite as well. I still found a lot to appreciate about it, and it was fascinating watching Togashi's growth as a storyteller and seeing more of his tendencies and interests coming out in the series. I also do think (and this is backed up by things Togashi has said) that the Jump editors had quite a bit more sway over Togashi's decisions with YYH, and that affected his ability to tell the story how he wanted to fully--which lead to him seeking more creative freedom with HxH, and HxH becoming how it is.

Unsurprisingly with my deep and abiding love of HxH, I do connect with the HxH cast more, but I also found the YYH cast memorable, fun, and well-designed! My favorites in YYH are Kurama and, funny enough, Koto. But I like a lot of the characters, they're a good cast. I remember being very touched by the end of the Dark Tournament arc, beautiful stuff.

It's hard for me to envision my favs from both series meeting without putting a lot of thought into it, honestly, hmmm! It's a fun question, but I'm not sure I have a good answer for you right now, sorry!
