I don’t know why, but I’m feeling oddly nostalgic for the good ole days when “Agents of SHIELD” was still premiering. I mean, today, it has a fairly solid reputation as a sci-fi action superhero show. But if you only started watching after the show ended, you have no idea just how much drama this show created. There’s like…whole arcs of drama with AOS. I actually kinda miss the drama, it was lowkey fun to follow.

Off the top of my head, there was the:

* “1st season is complete garbage, why is this even a thing” arc.

* “Stand With Ward” arc. Just…Grant Ward in general.

* “Jemma has a space boyfriend/the creators ruined Fitzsimmons” arc.

* “10 PM time slot is gonna kill this show” arc.

* “Fandom hates that Fitz has a Nazi Doctor alter ego” arc

* “Is this show even canon after season 5” arc

* “This show wants to be X-Men so bad with the Inhuman persecution” arc

* “Did the show blow its budget? Where are the lights?” arc (subplot: Ghost Rider really ate up the budget, that’s why we could only afford Gabriel Luna for 9 out of 22 episodes)

* “Season 6 was really fucking weird” arc

* “Fuck this show for killing Fitz. Wait, I forgot he’s technically not completely dead” arc.

* “Fuck this show for teasing which main member of the team will die in the S3 finale” arc (side note: the drama from this was milked so much that I remember Marvel actually made a poll in which you got to vote who you think was gonna die. Lincoln won the poll, followed by Fitz.)

* “I hate how the show just forgot that Daisy used to be Skye the hacker. It’s like they completely erased Skye from the canon in favor of the comic character. She doesn’t feel like the same character anymore.” arc (yes, this was an actual complaint I saw from people at the end of season 2/the beginning of season 3)

Ah…good times, good times. Marvel TV show drama nowadays feels much less interesting in my opinion. AOS was a drama goldmine.

Hello lovelies,

First off, I’d like to thank everyone who has volunteered to help with the reconstruction efforts in town. It is in times like these that we get to see the town coming together as one and make the best of things. Sadly, it appears that even in the face of tragedy, the reporting never stops—you all have been quite busy sending information my way to sort through. 

We all are very much aware about Miss Josie Reigh’s antics at the last town event, causing the Garcia brothers to come to blows over her, with my sources telling me that the two have just now become on speaking terms again. It must have been quite rough on the oldest considering he’s about to become a father of what I hear is quite the bunch of babies. For a moment, I was convinced that he had knocked two women up, until Miss Reigh very publicly declared who the father of her child actually is. A warning to the masses: if you decide to go home with Mercy Wainwright, you should know that he may be lying about his sterility, if Miss Reigh’s literal slap to the face is to be believed. Thankfully, it seems her new boytoy was able to reign her in. Her taste in men may be questionable, to say the least, but Gabriel Westfall seems harmless enough. At least the baby is going to the lovely Chris and Emma Winters, which is a much more stable home environment, considering how much family they now have to help support them.

Moving on to another frequent flier in our column, Jessica Sinclair has reportedly set her sights on yet another man, repeatedly spotted being quite cozy with Jerico Leeds. However, it seems the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree considering she appears to have more of her parents’ adulterous ways in her than she likes to advertise. We all know that the eyes of young men have a tendency to wander when a pretty face is involved, but I don’t think that Bellaluna Darling will be too happy with how you seem to be trying to place yourself directly in her man’s line of sight. Jessie, sweetie, he may be nice, but you of all people should know better than to try to steal another girl’s boyfriend.

Not to insinuate that the menfolk are the only ones capable of infidelity, which is a lesson that Hunter Hilton seems to have learned the hard way after only weeks of declaring Valeria Moreno as his girlfriend. The two were spotted at the festival holding hands only to end up arguing about her other bedroom partners which, as we have previously reported, are both varied and plentiful. No official news of a breakup has been reported, but he was seen storming off after their dispute which I can only assume means the two just weren’t meant to be. Especially since we do have reports that Miss Moreno has upgraded one of her other conquests to the role of boyfriend. Congratulations to Cain Barlowe for locking down quite the popular young lady.

However, I did have my doubts that Mr. Hilton and Miss Moreno were even an item to begin with. Word on the street is that the actual heartbreak to report is between him and one Guillermo Reyes. Sadly, Mr. Reyes doesn’t seem to have changed much since high school. Allegedly, he’s dating Eagan Connolly, but based on what the crowd saw Mr. Hilton and Mr. Reyes had quite the explosive breakup at the festival. Apparently, the name Liam Jefferson came up more than once, so it looks like Mr. Hilton just can’t move past that rejection. Although I do have to side with him in this instance. If my boyfriend punched me in public, I would also tell him to fuck off and snap at him that we’re done.

Now, if you think that relationship drama is a young person’s game, I would beg to differ on behalf of our older residents. I was volunteering as usual at the resident home and was told about quite the tiff between Claire Forbes and Phoenix Romero-Sawyer. It seems their friendship ended due to the former’s unreturned feelings for the latter. However, I do think we might need to have our residents' eyes checked, because the Romero that Miss Forbes has been seen with as of late is not our fire captain, but our game warden Mallard Romero. Miss Forbes is teaching us a valuable lesson here: if you can’t have the one that you want, you can always settle for someone who looks just like them.

In lighter news, congratulations are in order to Antonio Estrada Jr and Mylene Karimi! It looks like all that was needed for these two to run off into the sunset together was to leave the Commune, and so we wish them the best in their engagement, and that they continue to enjoy their newfound freedom. They sure do look a lot happier than Sandra Quispe. The poor thing seems so stressed despite the new help around the house.

Finally, while things in Huntsville can never go as expected, I’m sure none of us expected to see movie star Joey Albright step into our small town. The man hardly looks a day over 35, and it appears the reason for his arrival is none other than our very own Hope MacGillivray. Let us all celebrate another happy couple enjoying their engagement. Although the two may want to avoid the local police department if they want to stay happy and engaged.

Lovelies, with all the tragedy in our town, it really is great to see so much love going around. Good luck again to all who are helping with reconstruction efforts and try not to give the Reyes Ortega twins too much trouble. They really are doing the best that they can in that family.

Why is Cole so revered in the lore/voice lines?

Ok, I've seen this question be brought up in both a serious and joking manner and I completely understand it because unlike a lot of other characters whose skills are shown heavily either in actual gameplay or pre-game voice lines, Cassidy's full assortment of skills actively can't be explained or shown further then the set skills he's allowed to use in game.

Basically if you don't really look into his lore you wouldn't really grasp why he was chosen to be in Blackwatch in the first place if his only perceived "skills and talents" are good aim, rolling around and a grenade.

So let me explain why Cole Cassidy is so skilled that not only Overwatch want him, but Talon too.

1) His Resume

The first thing in Cassidy's resume is helping found the Deadlock gang when he was fifteen and even before that he was actively Ashe's right-hand man, making him second in command in Deadlock as well.

The next thing he was apart of was Blackwatch, I'll get into why he was hired into Blackwatch later. Cassidy was brought into Blackwatch by Gabriel Reyes, to which (at least by the time of the Venice incident) Cole proceeded to become at least one of the people Gabriel relied on and trusted most and at most, second-in-command in Blackwatch. (Again I'll get into that later)

Now this leads off of the previous point and that is the fact that Cassidy was one of the only Blackwatch member other then Genji to be brought into Overwatch;

Here he is in an Overwatch graduation photo. He is presumably graduating with Tracer, Winston and Genji.

Now let's get into more resent years of him being a Vigilante/Bounty Hunter. Cassidy has been recorded to basically be continuing the work he did with Overwatch but more on his own terms, as seen in this;

He hasn't really "laid low" in his time away from Overwatch, he continued from where he left off but now he works relatively alone and on his own terms.

And now we can get into the final item on his resume; recruiting and possibly lead his own Overwatch team.

Throughout the New Blood comics it plays with the idea of Cassidy taking the role as "leader" instead of focusing on orders given to him by someone else, not only that but considering what little we've seen on the PvE Story Mode Campaign, Cassidy is mostly fully animated and framed with Sojourn and Winston. Two people who are heavily expected to be taking on leader roles during story mode. (I will expand more about this in a later post)

So that is everything we know that is in Cassidy's resume, now let's get into the next topic;

2) His talents and skills

Let's start off with what he can do in game;

Peacekeeper - Accurate, powerful revolver

Peacekeeper - Wildly fire remaining rounds.

Combat Roll - Roll in the direction your moving and reload

Magnetic Grenades - Throw a short-range grenade that homes in on nearby enemies and deals additional damage if it sticks to them.

Deadeye - Focus. Mark. Draw. Cassidy takes a few precious moments to aim; when he’s ready to fire, he shoots every enemy in his line of sight. The weaker his targets are, the faster he’ll line up a killshot.

Now most of these abilities seem to be of the course for a character of his capabilities, but I'm only going to be talking about one; Deadeye.

From what we know in lore Deadeye is most likely what Cassidy is like at peak performance, which on it's own at a lore standpoint is pretty impressive. At a lore standpoint Cassidy is perfectly capable of essentially sniping six people using an impractical gun for sniping.

Yes this is him at peak performance but that is only in game, in lore he is capable of doing that at any time. Think about that for a second. He can basically use his Ultimate at any time.

Ok now, let's get into all the skills/talents he has that are implied by the lore itself;

Having an aim that is on par with Ana Amari with a gun that is generally not used for long range attacks

Being Ana's Amari and Gabriel Reyes's protégé

Him being trained by both Ana and Gabe means he's most likely skilled in more weapons then just a peacekeeper revolver (i.e. sniper rifles and shotguns at the very least)

Being skilled enough at age 17 to be not only considered for Blackwatch but to be put into a high security prison

Being able to survive multiple botched Black-ops missions (Brigitte: My dad says a lot of your missions were disasters.)

Most likely having a hand in writing the Blackwatch playbook.

(The way it emphasises "my" gives me the impression he had a hand in writing it)

Was able to take out a talon with out any casualties, on his own and in an enclosed, moving area. Not to mention several of those talon agents were taken out in the dark. (see Train Hopper)

Oh and let's not forget that he was actively of the run with a 60 million bounty on his head, meaning he was not only being hunted down by police, but other bounty hunters too.

There is also his history as a bodyguard (he was assigned to protect Mina Liao a lot), leading Blackwatch missions (he was in Blackwatch/Overwatch from 17 - 30/31 he most definitely ran a few missions), and just his strong ass loyalty (backstory retconned to he left after the Swiss explosion to emphasise this)

I probably missed some things but these are all the skills he has that are implied by lore. Now we can finally get to the actual question;

3) Why is Cole Cassidy so revered?

The reason Cassidy is so revered is because of the amount of skills he has, his pension for being able to learn new skills and his ability to be a massive threat to those he's fighting against even if he's on his own.

And do you want to know the final nail in the coffin?

The only enhancement he has is is prosthetic to which as far as we know lore wise, is a regular prosthetic.

Other than that Cassidy is, on the surface at least, some regular guy who dresses up as a cowboy.

So in conclusion, Cole Cassidy is more of a threat and an asset then people give him credit for. However this actually isn't of any fault of their own, as much as I've harped on in this post and others on how competent Cassidy is, there is one thing that will still remain true.

And that is Cole Cassidy is a dumbass, a heavily skilled and competent one, but a dumbass none the less.

Now this leads to one final question...

Why does Talon/Doomfist want Cassidy on their side?

In all seriousness, I do still enjoy the time I put into the game. So much so, it made me want to explore different character types so I made a bunch of ocs for it. Let's meet them!

An overwatch support character I made. In summary, she's a biochemist/botanist that uses a special tonic to enhance biology and genetic engineering. Think ethical version of Moria. (yes I know technically Mercy fits that statement but...your mom)

Next to her is Bonnie's daughter Maddie Hall. Code name: Jaybird

A former fighter pilot and mechanical engineer who fits the role as an overwatch tank. Complete with full shielded armor. Fun fact, she is also the daughter of Gabriel Reyes/Reaper.

Middle far left we got Alice Moore. Code name: Axel

A former practicing nurse and chemist. A support role from Junkertown because I'm curious of what a healer from Junkertown would look like.

Next is Heidi King. Code name: Groundhog

A child oc I made for the sole purpose of wholesome found family junker content. More than that though, I also thought she'd be a cool DPS type character that travels and attacks from underground. (PS, I made her before Venture was even revealed so...your mom)

After that is Jinani Golo. Code name: Gamma

A radiologist and technician from Pakistan. I can't believe this is the first time I've drawn her cause I think she's such a cool beautiful character. She uses nuclear medicine as support for Talon.

Far middle right we got Andrea Ortega. Code name: Chase

An American bounty hunter. I've also played with the idea she'd be heavily tied to Blackwatch. A former blackwatch agent with resentment to the agency she worked for.

Bottom left is Eshima Ou Yang, a former pirate and passionate environmental activist. A very young and positive ray of sunshine. The most eager to join Overwatch to make a difference in the dps role.

Next we got Ira Bennet. Code name: Livewire

An electrician and violent fighter for omnic rights. Her full protentional is still something I'm working on. I was thinking of doing something with melee weapons. Wanted her to have a mechanical suit and be very tanky.

Lastly we got Shawna Bennet. Code name: Ibis

Ira's loving omnic wife. She's a natural rock to Ira and therefor perfect for a dps role. Like Ira, her details are still in the works but I was thinking of playing around with drones and shield adapters.

They exchanged dog tags. When they’re Risen, they think they’re wearing their own dog tags.

So we got this edgelord Hunter with the name John Morrison and this eyesore of a Hunter with the name Gabriel Reyes. Class TBD, but I’ve thought about it and they both strike me as Hunters.

WATCHCLAN GENERATION 1: THE FOUNDING

Lore: Moons ago, twolegs practically demolished the homeland of the two warriors, Eaglewatch and Ravenshadow. Nearly the whole forest was gone along with the clans. Not only that, but the two warriors were captured and relocated by twolegs to a completely unknown area. Left with only each other, Eaglewatch and Ravenshadow have begun to try to rebuild a clan in this new area, recruiting other loners in the new area with a vow to offer protection to those who cannot protect themselves.

Summary: The night continues with a trip to ER and a few surprise visitors.

I had a nice comment this week on Ch1 so I wanted to update sooner rather than later.

Notes: This fic will now become a fix-it for the S4 finale. While I actually thought the finale was fantastic I still am happy this fic has an easy built in fix. I’m leaning towards just a magical fix instead of making him a wolf but we’ll see. Also, I decided to now to go evil Deaton, so instead Jennifer Blake will get the blame for some issues with Derek’s wolf. Hope you still enjoy this.

Stiles really didn’t want to have to worry about why Derek and whoever were coming to Austin. But now that things calmed down a little he couldn’t help but worry what happened on the hellmouth now. The last Stiles knew Derek was in agreement with Scott and his dad on keeping Stiles at the fringes of everything. It didn’t seem to matter that at this point Stiles had more training then Scott. None of them where the same inexperienced teenagers but it was only Stiles that seemed to be unable to shake that label.

“You okay, kid?” asked Gabriel. He could tell the younger man was disturbed and wondered if he contributed to it. “I’m sorry I didn’t know there was an Argent in town.”

“Not your fault but I am surprised nobody made note of her married name in her file.”

“They may have but I’ve had no reason to go looking. She hadn’t done anything until today to even put her on my radar.” Gabriel was frustrated and disgusted.

Not a single Argent clan member should be working in law enforcement in his opinion. He had zero faith that they would actually follow the rules when they hold the loosest to the hunter’s code. Even the Calveras were better if he had to pick a hunting clan to work with. But even then the trust was very limited. He would want them to know if something happened and Carlos had to be bitten. Gabriel really hoped that never needs to happen because with their bloodline odds would be high of Carlos becoming a spontaneous Alpha. Gabriel didn’t believe in the lore around “true alpha” but his family did still have a rise of a beta rising to Alpha without taking a spark from someone else. He just wasn’t sure his son has what it takes to lead a pack. But that is borrowing trouble from something that will hopefully never happen.

“Whatever, I don’t blame you.” Stiles said drawing the other man out of his head again. “Sorry you have to do the big reveal with Carlos and TK.” Stiles was still trying hard to ignore the growing panic of Derek Hale being in the same town as an Argent again. Well an Argent that wasn’t Chris, who last Stiles knew was still in Europe. He check with Danny later when talking about everything else.

“Ranger Reyes, your son is about to be discharged. He said to give you the exam report for the case.” She handed the paperwork to Stiles who was still in uniform. “They’ll be out momentarily for you to take home.”

“Thank you, Sally.”

“Do you want me to pick up donuts on the way to your house? It is almost 7am.” Stiles couldn’t believe how the night both flew by and seemed to never end. So many questions. So much paperwork still to be done. At least he didn’t have to lie on most of the reports that it was a magical alert system that told him about Carlos. They were still figuring out the mundane explanation but most of the just came from Ranger Reyes using his special division powers.

“No need. Andrea has already started cooking a large brunch since I wasn’t sure if anyone ate dinner last night either. She stress cooks like you so hope your hungry.”

“Well I won’t ever turn down any of your better half’s cooking.”

TK pushed a wheelchair containing a grumbling Carlos over to the two men.

“He is off work for at least two weeks according to the doctor. He was a little puzzled by the way the injury was showing signs of being a couple days into the healing process.”

All three men turned to look at a blushing Stiles with suspicion. Stiles was hoping they got out of the hospital quicker because he could tell TK and Carlos were getting impatient wanting answer. Or a distraction to put it off even longer.

“STILINSKI! Why did we track you down to a hospital after the panicked use of pack bonds earlier?”

Maybe Stiles should have been a little more specific on what distraction would have been okay.

“Jackass? What are you doing in Austin?” Stiles stared feeling like this was the start of a train wreck that he could do nothing to stop. He could feel a panic attack starting to build.

“Derek, Ethan, Eli and I are here to talk to you. Some stuff has been discovered that you really need to know. But now how bad are you injured?” Jackson did give Carlos, TK and Gabriel a glance but was more focused on Stiles.

“Officer Stilinski was not injured when rescued my son from a serial killer. I’m Ranger Reyes, the father of the man he saved. Now I’d appreciate it if you could take a step back from Officer Stilinski.” Gabriel made sure his badge was clearly visible.

“SERIAL KILLER!” Jackson inhaled trying to see if he could scent any blood on Stiles. Or even the killers scent to hunt down in the future. Nobody hurt his pack’s...well whatever Stiles was to the pack. “No injury? Derek is going to loose his shit. We might want to wait to tell him.”

“Why would he care that much?” asked Stiles. He remembered the last few conversations with the Alpha clearly.

“Who is Derek?” asked Carlos feeling loopy from the meds and head injury. But he still didn’t remember Stiles even hinting that he was in a relationship. But again the other man kept his cards close to his chest.

“The Alpha and UST buddy for almost a decade now.”

TK mouthed the words ‘UST buddy’ to Carlos in amusement.

“Jackson! I told you to wait for us.”

There in the hospital doorway was the one very attractive papa wolf holding his sleepy adorable pup. Ethan was right behind rolling his eyes at his impatient husband who had gone ahead.

“Oh.” TK and Carlos couldn’t help but appreciate the man before them. It did help make things a little clearer about Officer Stilinski while opening up even more questions.

Before Stiles could find his words Derek carefully handed off Eli to Jackson. Then wrapped an arm around Stiles waist pulling him into an embrace. Stiles let out a very manly squeak. With his other hand Derek stroked Stiles cheek as he leaned forward pressing their lips together. The kiss was deepened quickly by both men. A whimper was heard when they broke apart but nobody knew which made the sound.

Stiles tried pushing Derek away in worry. “Jackson, did you let your alpha come to Austin while under a spell?”

Derek took Stiles chin in his hand so they were making eye contact. “It is the opposite. When they tore down part of the school recently it included the classroom that the Darach used. It broke a spell she had anchored there. Her goal was to make me focus on her. Blake knew there was a mating bond in the early stages between the two of us. While her death ended most of the magic this one was physical anchored so it lasted longer.” Derek could see the disbelief and hope in Stiles eyes. “I am so sorry that I told you no before you came to Austin. The spell muted or blocked any feeling I had towards you.”

Stiles felt like his brain was blue screening. He desperately wanted to believe Derek but he also remember how painful it was before he came to Austin.

“I swear I came with my pack as soon as I could.” Derek hoped he wasn’t too late to have a chance with his mate.

“Uh, so I might not understand all that is happening right now but I think it would probably be better to move this to the Reyes house instead of a hospital lobby?” TK interrupted because he could tell this would go on for a while if he didn’t. They clearly had some issues to work out.

“Oh. Right. Other people exist.” Stiles fought the urge to hide his face in Derek’s shoulder. His very strong and shapely shoulders. What was he doing again.

“I would be honored for Alpha Hale and his pack to join us for a meal and explanations. Just follow us or text Stiles for the address.” Gabriel started herding everyone out of the hospital.

“The Hale pack is honored for the offer and will take you up on it.”

Jackson made a face at Eli over the ridiculousness, the younger boy giggled.

“I’ll ride with Gabriel so yeah just follow us.” Stiles reluctantly stepped back from Derek as they made their ways to the three cars. “See you soon.”

Gabriel patted Stiles shoulder unsure what this all meant. He weirdly felt this tied to the Argent in the territory but wasn’t sure how yet. Hopefully talking it all out would bring answers but first they needed food.
