Nemona is the best modern rival. I adore her and I wonder if the reason Penny gets a pass is because of her nerdy white girl aesthetic

Penny get a passed because the game doesn't acknowledge she litterally commited a crime.

The narrative make you let it slide but I think (beside my stream) the one who had the second best reaction is Alpharad screaming "SHE COMMIT FEDERAL CRIME !!!" because:

Yeah that's a felony over here too ! Like bro... SHE STOLE MONEY FROM THE GOUVERNEMENT OUTRIGH FOR HER PERSONAL USE ! not even ? Detention ? That's really a rich private school I guessed.

I don't hate her, I just find it parodic, like, no one acknowlegde this student is a cyber criminal okay.

Nemona is to me the best modern rival, if not n°1 on the top 3. They finally make a friendly rival worked. Woman is just obsessed with battling and have a real passion and (spoiler for the end of the game) Post game, post tournament you have the possibility to talk to Penny, Arven and Nemona 3 times (and unlock access to their room) and Nemona probably has the one who give the best explanation about her behavior and her past:

She was actually quite lonely before you showed up.

She train so much and was so good in battle, no one wanted to play with her anymore. When she asked, she get shoved off by her comrade, receive mean remark for her skill and enthousiasm.

Add to that, her parents are really absent figure + She is not really skilled at catching pokemon *cough cough* See my prostetic arm theory. And yeah, she needed a friend.

Now she have someone willing to trains and fight for up to two hours (yes, this script exist, this is hilarious). On equal footing with her in pokemon battle and even if she is awkward and silly, she is nice to the player and a good helping hand while being challenging in her own right *cough cough* more than geeta.

I think we all meme her being a Yandere but all agree we rather have this Bisexual Queen than the bunch of dingus from X and Y.
