I commute to class and there's usually this one guard stationed at the entrance to the train station I go through. We are homies. She barely even checks my bag at this point she just taps it with her stick and smiles at me. I think she has my class schedule memorized. One time she asked me for help giving directions to an old Chinese man, and then after I translated a little bit, she waved me away after realizing I was late for class. When I come home late from night classes, she's usually off her post and on her way home and we wave at each other when passing by on the platform

Crazy that one of Jimmy's first thoughts about rations after the crash is keeping Curly alive so he stays fresh in case things get dire. No one else brings it up, they barely mention Curly outside of the crash or his medicine actually.

He's a non factor to them now which is also a little heartbreaking considering how much he did care (even if his judgements were off) about them. It really shows the subtle ways that the game and the world they are in attach value to what you can do and can't do. He's no longer Captain or even Curly, just an after thought, a bad after taste. Yet, Jimmy still sees him as something worse.

It's the fact that to Jimmy, Curly was always someone meant to service and prolong his life. Even in pain and agony, all the thought he can give Curly is his use to him to the extent he is willing to consume him physically to get all he can out of him and of him.

Hiccup has a fear of deathsongs.

Obviously he doesnt hate them, I dont think he has it in him to genuinely hate a dragon seeing as they're just wild animals playing their part in the food chain, but after almost being killed by a dragon that lures in and borderline brainwashes prey via sound it's hard not to see the similarities.

Part of why he had no moral dilemma or second thoughts about trapping the Melody Island deathsong in that cave at first. It's something that makes him feel deeply guilty because he's meant to be the dragon guy right? A bridge connecting humans and dragons, bringing peace between them, it's hypocritical of him to have this knee-jerk reaction, right?

all the videos and static imagery from tonight's show somehow didn't feel like something overwhelmingly grandiose, but no! neither did it feel ...bad? hollow? overrated? not good at using words at all. it still had those vibes of the smaller venues, damn, of The Room Below, too. of a play in an old theatre. something warm, a family-like collective big yet not causing terrible sensory overload. as if after the show V was going to pick up a big plush toy and to go to bed. as if it was not what humanity is these years, but what it is in the books for children where life and love always win.
