Okay, theory time, Gaster was a human. Nowhere in the game does it describe Gaster as "monster," only "man." It said that Gaster split across time and space, and the thing is, monsters souls only dust, but a HUMANS SOUL splits, and it said that he scattered across time and space. Maybe some parts of himself remained in Undertale, but some parts of him were scattered into Deltarune. A thing that I theorized he opened a portal to using the machine Sans has in his basement and that machine in the old labs. But anyway, Gaster was a human, Sans and Papyrus were originally from Deltarune, and the entirety of the underground is the dark world. But I dunno.

also, REALLY recommend finding a picture of Band Cross is youve got the time, and putting their faces side by side - i spent HOURS designing and redesigning their faces to what i hoped would look like a realistically father-son related.

i remember not finishing this one cus i couldnt get the perspective of the gun and hand right, and it upset me so i stopped lol

I had a lot of fun honestly, I tried to mimic the colors and the style a little and I made Gaster super creepy because why not~

I had the idea of including Frisk when I saw the mirror, it sounded quite obvious and I was afraid to just make the same thing everyone did, but I haven't seen anyone do it beside myself for now so yipee

context: this is after the true pacifist ending and monsters can now live on the surface.

Since Frisk spent so much time in the underground, when they came back to the surface, it was inevitable that they would need a lot of time catching up in school.

Frisk goes around the surface town and the underground looking for someone to help them finish their homework, but to no avail.

everyone is busy especially after being freed from the underground. Just as they're passing through waterfall, hoping to try their luck in hotlands, they pass a corridor with a mysterious but familiar door in the middle of it...

This isn’t saying you shouldn’t write bad or sad stories or anything, but from Gaster’s perspective as a character in those stories of course he’d want “happy” endings, haha.

But anyway, I kept telling you guys that when Handplates was over I would tell you. Well... here we are. After seven long years, here we are.

When I started I never thought I’d make it. To be honest, it doesn’t feel real to me at all. My brain still expects to do another page in about two weeks as it always does. I assume it’ll take a while to sink in. There’s a lot to say but this post is already incredibly long (sorry), so it’s probably suited to its own post.

But for all of you out there who read this story, whether you were there from the beginning or just came in now, thank you so much. And for all of you that were inspired by this comic, who created things for it, who blessed me with so many amazing gifts of art and fic and music and dubs and videos and so much more... I don’t know how to thank you enough. I never dreamed that an idle idea could have come this far or had such an impact on my life and so many people, but it did.

I kind of feel at a loss for words... again it’s very surreal. But I will say that Gaster wondering whether the kid is an actual human or not has an unintended level to it since my avatar is a fox but it’s TOO LATE NOW I GUESS lol.
