Heyy, I got a little cute idea for a little fanfic.
Would you write a Rhea X fem Reader, where the reader comes home from a stressful work day and just need some cuddles and a calm night.
Jst fluff nothing special, nobody who tells me it's going to be okay just cuddling and caring for each other.
Have a great time 🫶🏻
After work cuddles
Pairing: Rhea Ripley x Fem reader
Description: Rhea provides comfort and safety after your shitty work day
Tumblr media
You wince and groan taking your shoes off your pained feet after dragging yourself to your car and inside the house after the long and truly frustrating day at work. As soon as you arrived the whole day just went to complete and utter nonstop shit from your boss yelling at you and piles of endless paperwork to rude customers and lazy coworkers you needed something to get the day off your drained mind rubbing your eyes as you walk upstairs where Rhea was watching tv in bed smiling when you walk in only for it to disappear seeing the dark circles under your eyes, the look of frustration written on your face, and exhaustion as you strip down willing yourself to walk and turn the shower on standing under the hot water walking out seeing rhea standing by the foot of the bed hugging you before ordering food from door dash eating wings together while watching true crime on Hulu as she digs and rubs her fingers into your neck and back before lightly running them over your face telling her about the day as your body turned to jello. A minute later your face was tucked in the corner of her neck "I know the day wasn't great baby but I'm here now we're home and I'll make it better for you" you smile and nod as she gently runs her hand along your back under your shirt as she holds you in your arms whispering to you as you doze off "I love you possum" you wake up seeing on the clock on the nightstand that it was 2:09 walking downstairs to find rhea on the couch with Barry and Luna climbing into her arms after eating a bowl of ramen and a glass of pomegranate juice sharing a soft kiss as she lightly runs her finger nails along your back "Thank you for last night baby sorry I slept in" she shakes her head as the two of you watch The mummy "It's okay my love yesterday was rough" you giggle at barry licking your chin as he snuggles between you and rhea "I love you baby" she smiles pressing a kiss to your nose before sharing a bag of chips.

PROLOGUE - Future Man (S1)
Burning. Fire spits out of the pile of paper in the warehouse, panting breaths of a family nearby. Running, from what? Since the war broke out it’s impossible to tell. Fire. The only thing that keeps a person warm, and even now they can’t stay in the same part to comfort themselves. The only thing that keeps them warm is running. Running away from the enemy. A little boy dressed in rags drops his stuffed toy, in the dirt and dampness of the warehouse. He reaches forward, desperate to keep the only thing to comfort him, but his father pulls him back. “Leave it.” he drags him to his feet. “Just leave it.” he spits. They continue running.
And just about in time. When they turn the corner to hide, that’s when the Biotics arrive. Dressed in all black armour, the distinct red lights on their chest blinking. The helmet that covers their fleshy, grotesque appearance, with a gun in hand. The lead Biotic steps on the toy, with no care for human life whatsoever. Biotics don’t have feelings. They don’t have a soul. The family knows they’re coming, and the family knows they’re to be dead soon.
“Behind the dumpster, quick!” the Father exclaims, shoving his poor kids into a corner behind the dumpster, the wife goes next, then him. “Get down, hush.” Their hiding place doesn’t last long. The Biotics are already there. Despite being the worst example of life on the planet, the Biotics are smart. They’ve perfected navigation skills, and have practically perfected everything you can think of. “Please, don’t hurt them!” the father exclaims, grasping onto his kids for dear life, the only thing that keeps him alive is his strive to help his family survive. If they were dead, surely, he’d kill himself. The lead Biotic reaches for him and picks him up by the scruff like a stray cat, he hurdles him into the trash while his wife gives a blood curtling scream. The Biotics are winning. Of course they are, they’re unstoppable.
At least that’s what you’d think.
I lower my high tech binoculars. I watch him hit the ground with a crash. I see the Biotic point his psychoblaster directly at the man’s family. And I don’t flinch as I blow a hole straight through it. The family looks up, terrified, yet, confused. What had caused this Biotic to suddenly go limp? The answer to that question? Me.
I stand straight in my uniform, pointing the gun to where I had perfectly shot a deep, burning hole into the stomach of the Biotic. (That is, if they even have stomachs). It falls, and I lower my gun. I don’t smile. “Now that’s what I call a hole in one.” I’m perfect. From my hair styled neatly, to the padding on my boots. The armour is solid, pure strengthened oppilume, (a metal from my time), with the bright blue wires connecting to my neck brace to keep the Biotics from trying to decapitate me. My shorogyt gloves which hold my own X28 Psychoblaster, given to me by the resistance. But I have no time to gloat, more Biotics are on my way. Their shots fly past me and I shoot back blue rays of electricity, It startles them, they stumble.
I manage to make my way across perfectly, doing flips over piles of garbage. I grab a long metal stick, probably a part of the collapsed building, on my way and stick it straight through another Biotic. As I crush his skull, I kick another into an electrical box, causing sparks to fly and for the Biotic to go limp. Three down. One to go. “There’s the shock.” I say confidently, the family hugs one another, the father manages to limp back towards his wife and kids and embrace them tightly witha sigh of relief. I smile at them. “And awe.” A Biotic attempts to throw a punch, I duck at the perfect time. I block its hits with my arm, I manage to grab it as I punch off its mask, its disgusting face becoming revealed as it screams an alien-like scream in my face. I silence it with a Subatomic Sensor mine, planting it in its chestplace and throwing it back, and turning away before I can see its limps spurt out of the orange glow of an explosion.
As I walk towards the family, I pick up the kid’s skeleton toy. “Hey kid, I think you dropped this.” I say gruffy as I give the little boy, who is looking up to me in awe, his toy back. “You’re safe now.” I say with a nod of my head. But I frown. “Can’t say the same for the rest of humanity.” The other child, a teenage girl, looks up at me with big, glistening eyes. “Who are you?” she asks in awe.
I stand straight and proud, but no smirk on my face, I lift my head. “I’m Future Man.” I tell her.
The father looks at me, I expect him to thank me and– “Joshy.” I pause. What? No. That’s not my name. “No.” I correct. “I’m Future Man.” I say with a little bit of agitation, admittedly I could be a little less harsh. But it’s starting to get on my nerves now. “Joshy!” says the teenage girl.
“Future. Man.” I correct again.
“Joshy?” says the little boy I gave the toy back to. I huff impatiently. How could they not understand? I look to my left and put my hands on my hips. Joshy is a name I haven’t been called in many years. Not since my parents were killed by the—
“Joshy!” my dad whispers. And I wake up. I sigh. “Dad. You don’t have to wake me up, okay? I have an alarm clock.” I grumble, keeping my head to the pillow, I know my bed hair is all over the place, and I don’t really want to look right now. My Dad smiles. “Yeah, but not one that makes you pancakes!” he exclaims. He taps the bed. “Come on, you little buddy boo!” Ugh. How I hate that nickname. I’m not a kid. I sigh heavily as I yank the bedsheets off of me. “I’m an adult! You don’t have to make me pancakes!” I watch my Dad leave without another word, and I sit up, getting out of bed, I step on something and it cracks. I look down and see it. Snapped in half. I pick up one half.
“My joystick!”

hope you enjoyed and lmk if you want me to keep posting this ^^ it was honestly just a little thought I had but I just wanted to share it!!! okay byeee!!!

sunshine - kwon soonyoung
“you’ll always be my sunshine in the rain”
pairing; kwon soonyoung x fem!reader
genre; fluff, drama, unrequited love
warnings; minimal mention of drinking, soonyoung and reader get rained on in the middle
wordcount; 1.6k
synopsis; the one who stayed by your side no matter how many times you got fired from different jobs, tells you no matter the outcome, you’ll always be his sunshine in the rain.
read below the cut !
you had just been fired from your third job within a span of 7 months. not that you really did anything, you were always a competent employee, just the fact your overly.. energetic (to say the least) friend group would always seem to forget they are in public when they visit you. and once your boss found out they were yours, you paid the price no matter how much you tried.
“im sorry. i know it’s not you whos personally at fault, but we’ve been getting to many noise complaints from both owners next door. so we have to let you go, im really sorry again.” your boss, minnie, had told you before firing you from the bakery.
i mean, it made some sense that there would be noise complaints as the people next door were a tutoring company and a book store, but why would you have to be the one to take the blame?
at the end of the day, they were still your best friends, so you tried to see past it. but you really needed the money with rent due soon, not to mention the bills on top of all that. ‘i really might need to cancel my netflix and hulu subscription..’
you do have a roommate, sana, who you of course are close with, but with her being in law school, she was barely home.
of course she paid her share as she was pretty financially stable not to mention she still slept there (sorta) often, yet you never could ask her for money. though you went to high school and finished college together, it still felt weird asking for money.
so you sucked it up and went job hunting online, texting some of your (other) friends if they knew any available positions in the retail industry.
after 3 hours, you gave up. it was about 5pm now, and you had been rejected by around 15 different stores.
you decided to take a break to eat, and made a quick sandwich.
you scrolled through your phone mindlessly, before you received a notification from the one and only tiger lover (you really cringed when he told you to make that his contact name), soonyoung.
hoshi; r u ok
hoshi; srry me and kyeom got u fired
hoshi; picking u up
hoshi; dress nice
hoshi; jk u always do
hoshi; be there in 25
you sighed at his sad attempt to cheer you up. of course, him and seokmin were your best friends (among other things) yet you seriously had no idea how to move forward career wise.
you thought of just not telling them where you worked but they always found out one way or another.
even so, despite the desperate need for money you appreciated all soonyoung did for you. if he wasnt able to support you financially, he definitely always would mentally/emotionally.
with a heavy groan, you drag yourself off the couch to get dressed as you realized the minimal time you had left before he’d arrive.
you put on a yellow dress with yellow frill short sleeves, as well as a random pair of white sneakers before grabbing your bag and phone just as soonyoung texted he was parked outside.
“is that the dress i bought for you a while back?” he questioned while he backed out the parking lot.
“yeah. just never really had the chance to wear it since i was always working.”
“im sorry about that, again. i know you aren’t exactly the most financially stable but just know you can always come to me if you need-”
“soonyoung- weve been over this, i cant just ask you for money. i could never impose on you like that.”
“its not imposing if im the one offering it to you. but really, i don’t mind. im more then comfortable money wise right now.”
“only cause you live in cheols basement.”
“its not a basement- its a bedroom below the main floor. and josh literally has his own room on the same level as me! you know what thats besides the point. but you get what i mean!”
“yeah- you’re a group of 5 grown men living in a small technically one story plus a loft house with a.. not-basement because none of you wanna pay bills on your own.” you chuckled, rolling your eyes as you let the wind blow in your face through the crack in the window.
“hey! you’re saying that like we all don’t pay our own fair share.”
“whatever. where are we going anyway.”
“somewhere.”
“no way. are you kidnapping me?” you dramatically gasped, putting a hand over your chest.
“stop talking or im dropping you off at the nearest insane asylum.”
after a good 15 minutes of driving, you realized soonyoung had taken you to the old park you used to always visit together, recalling all the fond memories while the rushed back to you when you first stepped out onto the grass.
you noticed soonyoung taking a smallish basket out the trunk before you connected the dots it your head — he had taken you onto a picnic.
“you coming? this basket isnt getting any lighter.”
soonyoung had brought all sorts of your favorite comfort foods, ranging from strawberry shortcake, to tteokbokki, and even spam musubi.
as you took a bite out of your slice of cake, you let out a little gasp as a bee danced around your fork, before eventually flying to crawl over your dress.
you immediately stood up to shake it off you, sighing in relief as you saw it fly away (thanks to soonyoung swatting it but youre an independent person)
“you’re that freaked out over a small bug?”
“it was a bee! i dont want it to sting me or get in my cake.”
“it only stings you if you attack it first.”
“you’re lucky i didn’t attack you. why are all the bees coming towards me and not you anyway?”
“guess the bees know who the real flower is.” he smiled, before digging back into his own food like it was nothing.
your heart melted at the little comment, but it was expected from soonyoung. you shouldn’t get all worked up from something so usual/normalized, you told yourself.
but if it was so normal, why was your heart beating so fast?
“that was a little sudden. what was that all about?”
“oh that? yeah i like you.” he shrugged like it was nothing, the words rolling off his tongue so naturally as if he was responding to the most obvious question in the world. like, what color is the sky, or, how the hell do you respond to your super cute best friend that you find attractive, saying he likes you but he just got you fired thrice??
you felt the air being knocked out your lungs, absolutely speechless.
“i only said it so naturally cause i know you don’t feel the same, you know,” soonyoung mumbled, seemingly reading your mind. “just kinda needed to get it off my chest.”
“soonyoung..”
“no i get it. i mean i can’t expect you to love me especially ive been such a bad friend. i knew you were struggling and yet i still got you fired. from three different jobs.”
“im really sorry.”
“no need, if anything i should be sorry.”
“you know i still really care about you, right.”
“course you do, its only natural, anyway”. he forced a smile, though he wasn’t quite sure what else he expected.
though, he supposed a small part of him was holding onto something, wishing maybe you could’ve been a little more.
coincidentally, you began to feel small raindrops against your finger tips. you looked up to see the once bright blue sky had turned gray and gloomy.
“that’s weird.. I don’t remember seeing any rain in the forecast..”
soonyoung immediately packed up everything as soon as he could the moment he felt the rainfall coming down harder and faster.
by the time he was done, you both were pretty drenched.
he dug through the neatly packed basket to grab his black denim jacket to wrap around your shoulders as he guided the two of you to the car through the rapidly shifting winds.
soonyoung was meant to drop you off, but you invited him in. despite all his personal protests, he still went in anyway.
you poured yourselves some red wine, sitting on the floor by the warm fireplace after the cold rain soaked you both.
“i dont know if it’s the wine talking but you are really attractive, even if i don’t see you the way you see me.” you slightly slurred.
“well. you know what they say, drunk words are sober thoughts.” he awkwardly chuckled.
“im sorry.” you drunkenly mumbled, your head tipping over to fall onto soonyoungs shoulder.
he quickly took your wine glass to put onto the coffee table behind you in order to avoid staining the fluffy white carpet.
“what for?”
“i still really care about you.”
“well. you’ll always be my sunshine in the rain, even if it’s only ever just as friends.” soonyoung whispered to you, pulling his jacket tighter over your shoulders while you let yourself be absorbed by your own dreamland.

Things I Noticed While Writing Light The Fuse: Part 15, Episode 5
This Magic Moment to end off this half of the series, so excited to write what happens next 😊
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They're watching each other again, they're always watching each other when Matty drives. I wonder what they're thinking about, if Ethan is still thinking about how it didn't make sense, or how they accept him and want him there, if he's wondering if he should really stay because there's no need to go back even if he's wrong? And Matty, if he's wondering (my hands no joke just type wonderful on instinct) if he'll stay, or how he's feeling after their talk, if he's okay, or maybe if he's wondering what else Ethan might be hiding from them or if he's ready to keep accepting him no matter what the truth is.
I need to talk to everyone who worked on this show or I will end up haunting the earth with unfinished business
Tumblr media
This song is so them-coded I needed to make it theirs only to make it hurt, I'm all for a good song being ironically played in serious scenes, it's hilarious to me and this is the other scene I filmed on my phone to share the first time I saw it, but c'mon, does it not fit them being in love exactly?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sure doesn't look too happy to see her even though she should be signifying that he can go home soon huh. She even told him she'd be down there and he looks more shocked than relieved, and half of me is like 'she's there to take him home and he doesn't want that' and the other half is like 'he told her the times and now she appears and this is bad news' like how I wrote it in my fic, but this is canon Ethan so he could also be thinking anything with how he doesn't look too worried when they arrive
Tumblr media
Poor Matty he's just glancing over at a passing car, he's heard her voice, seen her here, and also meets her and never once does he connect the dots I need to protect him from the oncoming heartbreak he goes through enough
Tumblr media
Thank you, dear god, if I saw anyone else play Johnson it wouldn't have worked even half as well, there is only one Johnson and he can only be played by David Dastmalchian and I stand by that so hard.
Also lol at Matty leaning back so far and seriously cause he's in the shot
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is also unforgivable, how dare she do this right after sending the Brawlers after him, she's officially put him into danger by association and she knows it and she still gives him this wave, as a character she's so fascinating but my god I can't forgive her
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then it's over. You can only pray that this has nothing to do with what you talked about yesterday, Ethan, and that they'll still love you when it all comes out
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The casual pull up, this is just another normal drop, things are calm, Ethan gets to toss Matty the bag this time, he fixes his sleeves Johnson-style, and then it all goes to hell. This is probably the first time Matty's seen anything like this, since he got here after the war and all, and Johnson's probably thinking 'oh no not again' after so long of things being good, but Ethan, with him seeing this and then throwing away his phone next ep, he knows that this is his fault
Tumblr media
Matty freaking out and explaining things to a couple random Brawlers before turning to Johnson as he walks away, Johnson motioning for someone to come over, and Ethan for some reason went to talk to his own random Brawler, interesting choice there, I wonder what he said
Tumblr media
This shot has an interesting cut, on Hulu it starts later and goes for longer, and on Amazon it starts sooner and ends halfway through, so I spliced them together to make one big shot. I know they did it since the following scene was cut and they needed to keep the Joel continuity, but still, I loved seeing all the differences between the two as I did this ep
Oooooooough Matty all curled up while he talks to Joel, he's the only one who wants to become a Brawler and he's the one panicking the hardest here outta all of them, even Ethan is just standing around while Johnson sits off to the side, why wouldn't he also be talking to Joel about this? I'm telling you, he only talks to people whenever Matty can't, and I will bring this up again when I do ep6 and 10
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This scene was cut entirely, which is a shame since it's so good. We got Matty being all panicky and fidgety, we got Meredith being sisterly to Lyla which is always nice, we got Avron 😒 and we got a nice shot of Johnson they robbed from us. The rest of their convo is unintelligible, I can make out Matty saying 'He just-' and then that's it, with whispers of them still going, wish the Brawlers could've talked a little less here
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love the reveal that Bash did this cause Percy was his brother, every reveal is great in this show, but this is about the Phoenixes so we must look at them. Of course they gotta go back to show them what happened, but what I wanna know is why Ethan is the one chosen to drive back. I wrote Matty as being too wired to concentrate, and Johnson is taking his sweet time back there (he throws out his cigarette twice lol) but you'd think that Ethan might also be too wired since he saw an actual dead body like an hour before, even if they don't know each other that well.
There's also something in the backseat of the third gif and I still have no idea what it is
Tumblr media
Like is this a piece of film equipment? I have no idea what that thing is in both show and real world context, it almost looks like a speaker or something
Tumblr media
Bonus Meredith and Lyla cause this shot was also cut, the rest of the ep is the same from here
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All three of them waiting outside and giving them time to inspect/grieve 🥺 they didn't even try to stop Bash when he rushed out, they just get back in the car and wait for Joel to follow. Matty doesn't even really look in, he's just looking down and away, which Johnson does at the same time I just noticed
Tumblr media
Matty is driving, but there's no one in the backseat unless they turned into shadows or I'm blind
Tumblr media
RIP Gary, your promised rematch with Matty would've been legendary
Tumblr media
It's hard to see cause this is the world's darkest bar but Johnson actually reacts to this one, he touches his forehead just over Joel's shoulder near the end
Tumblr media
Matty once again looking to only Johnson while he's already looking at them and not the carnage /)o(\ This is what your loyalty to Doris did, Ethan! Just tell her to fuck off instead of answering her ;w;
And that's it, I won't do the rest of the eps until I'm done writing Light the Fuse, which I was hoping to be doing this whole time but it's been so busy I haven't had a chance to sit down and write anything OTL but since this ended up finishing on a Tuesday, I'll give myself one more week to try and stock up (since I've got nothing to post heh ;w;) and then in a few months when this fic is all done we can look at more details together~
Thanks so much for joining me so far, this has been a lot of fun and I can't wait to get back to working on both the fic and this series again asap ❤️💙💛

How do you say “Winter is coming” in Japanese?
It’s hardly a criticism to say the new series Shogun, currently airing on FX and streaming on Hulu in the United States and Disney+ elsewhere, may remind audiences of Game of Thrones. The HBO spectacle based on George R.R. Martin’s novels was one of the more transformative television events of our age, inspiring several close-but-no-scimitar imitators. Netflix has The Witcher, Amazon has the preposterously expensive The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, and HBO has the Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon, all of which have their charms, but none have quite caught the wildfire-in-a-bottle of the original.
It is with great joy, however, that I can report an heir is finally here. The wannabes prove it wasn’t the wizards and winged beasts that ignited our collective passions: It was the palette of complex characters at cross purposes, the knotty alliances, and the inscrutable schemes that conquered our imaginations. Shogun, based on James Clavell’s bestselling 1975 doorstopper—which was previously adapted for television in 1980—is a fictionalized version of a power struggle in early 17th-century Japan, in which five regional lords vie for control after the death of a leader who maintained stability but whose son is too young to rule. Adding spice to the stew are Portuguese Jesuits (whose black ships are building a secret base in Macao) and the arrival of a crafty English pilot sailing under the Dutch flag with a secret mission to destabilize Portugal’s foothold in the region—but maybe to also make a buck or two. That’s the very shortened version, anyway, but hopefully enough to hook you.
Shogun is that rare television series that demands extra mental effort but truly rewards for the work. (Blessedly, FX has created a thorough study guide to help you keep all the characters straight.) Moreover, its roots in history and genuine customs lend it a great deal of gravitas. Truth, as we know, is often stranger than fiction.
But “strangeness” is a wobbly term these days, particularly for a Hollywood-based production about another nation’s history. As soon as the series was announced in August 2018, producers made it clear it would deviate from the earlier, NBC television event. The 1980 iteration of Shogun, which featured Richard Chamberlain, the legendary Toshiro Mifune, Welsh character actor John Rhys-Davies chomping it up as a strapping Spaniard, and narration from Orson Welles, was arguably the apogee of the big-budget miniseries trend that included Roots, Jesus of Nazareth, The Winds of War, and North and South and was a ratings juggernaut perfectly timed for a growing American interest in all things Japanese. And it was very much told from the perspective of its Western protagonist, deploying a classic white savior trope.
That storyline—loosely based on the real life of William Adams, the first Englishman to navigate to Japan—is still core to Shogun, but the new series, developed by the husband-and-wife team of Justin Marks and Rachel Kondo, takes what Clavell wrote and broadens it. The Adams character, John Blackthorne, played by Cosmo Jarvis, is now one of three equally important main characters, including Lord Yoshii Toranaga (Hiroyuki Sanada) and Toda Mariko (Anna Sawai). Indeed, it is Sanada who gets top billing in the opening credits.
One indicator of the new telling is this: In the 1980 version, when characters spoke Japanese, it went untranslated. “The viewer will be in the same situation as Blackthorne and will learn what is going on just as he does,” a producer boasted of this creative choice at the time. In the current version, spoken Japanese has subtitles; it is text, not ornamentation. What’s more, while I didn’t use a stopwatch, I’d say about three-quarters of the show is in Japanese.
While some of the producers are Japanese, the writers are not (though some are of Japanese heritage), so the dialogue was written in English, then rigidly translated into Japanese, then handed off to a Japanese playwright who spoke no English but had expertise in this time period, and then translated back for subtitles. Many of the scenes involve tense conferences in which language is translated on the spot, which is incredibly fertile soil for a brilliant performer like Sawai to say one thing with her voice but mean something else with her expression. (Not to make this too complicated, but within the story, no one is speaking English; however, some characters do speak Portuguese, which we at home hear as English—trust me, this makes sense when you watch it.)
This is just one reason why Shogun is not passive viewing. Those who watch television with one eye on Instagram are going to have problems with this one. (And they should—put down the damn phone!) Not only is there a cascade of characters with different shifting alignments, but one of the central themes is deception and delayed revelation. This is a story in which not really knowing what the hell anyone is thinking is central to its success. This is symbolized by the “eightfold fence,” a Japanese philosophy of isolation that has played into its political maneuvers over the years but in a rich drama like Shogun means that when a woman is professing her undying love to her husband, she may secretly wish nothing more than to be dead.
The new series’ decision to broaden the perspective (and also beef up the women’s roles) may have been a red flag for some worried that it would sand down some of the material that, let’s face it, makes 17th-century Japanese culture look a little, well, intense. To put it bluntly: Could a series for our overly sensitive age show a character boiling a prisoner alive just so he can zone out to the sound of his anguished screams in a prurient haze? The answer is yes. And while that sadistic character isn’t exactly a good guy, you kind of end up liking him a little bit by the end.
Even more extreme (and also in the first episode) is when a character accepts that an underling, who spoke in his defense but did it in a way that defied protocol, must not only commit ritual suicide but also have his infant child killed so as to ensure his family line is obliterated. What’s more, the guy who approves of this is our hero, Sanada’s Toranaga.
Indeed, the frequent act of seppuku is just one of the Japanese customs that is baffling to Blackthorne’s Western eyes, and his character remains a stand-in for the audience in that regard. (Far more benign is the belief that it is disrespectful to step on moss—OK, note taken!) But an important change from Chamberlain’s Blackthorne is that Jarvis’s version is frequently a whiny, nasty jerk. Jarvis’s performance, which owes a bit to Tom Hardy at his most energetic, is a spitting, cursing blowhard with a short fuse who would probably have a much easier go of things at first if he would just chill out. (It is, at times, meant to be funny, and it is.) The Japanese call him “The Barbarian,” and given English attitudes at the time toward bathing compared with the much tidier Japanese, you can see why. One of the best compliments I can give Shogun is that, periodically, you will think, “Wait, why am I rooting for any of these people?!” but still feel a lot is at stake in the drama.
While there is a great deal of gore in the series (now I know what a computer-generated horse looks like when hit by a cannonball), there is an overwhelming amount of beauty. The kimono budget must have been through the roof on this thing. Even scenes that clearly include additional greenscreen are lit with care. This is key for a culture that, despite some shocking violence, places importance on order and grace. With 10 one-hour episodes, there is time to linger on how tea is properly served, how sake is poured, or how a geisha who takes pride in her trade can elevate it to artistry.
But none of that would matter if the storyline weren’t compelling, and I suppose Clavell would not have sold 21 million books if he wasn’t on to something. Shogun is probably his most famous, but I recall seeing his name on covers everywhere as a Gen X kid. My own mother dragged around the enormous Noble House, split into two volumes in hardcover, for what seemed like months. Most of his work fits into a larger “Asian Saga,” though he had enough clout in the early 1980s to direct a television special based on a dystopian short story (The Children’s Story) and get parodied on Late Night With David Letterman.
For all the exoticism and complicated history, however, it’s the inner hopes and desires of these characters that will linger. “Flowers are only flowers because they fall” might seem like a corny line out of context, but in the delicate world of Shogun, it is a moment of perfection and one of several in this extraordinary series.

Star Wars X: The Power Of The Force
Breaking Announcement in The Secret Reverse Flashpoint Paradox 2.0 timeline I created last year on June 14, 2023 ⚡⌛📆‼️Christopher Nolan, Grandmaster Yoda, and I are teaming up together independently to create a brand new movie titled Star Wars X: The Power Of The Force. This movie will NOT be a part of the Star Wars Universe and won't include Disney, Lucasflim, Warner Bros, Universal Pictures, 20th Century Studios, Apple TV, Netflix, Paramount, Hulu, HBO Max, Amazon Prime Video, Showtime, Starz, or any of these big corrupt companies that only care about money. We will be doing everything independent of all other forces and also no credit shall be given to George Lucas. I won't rest until Grandmaster Yoda is officially replaced as the true founder of Star Wars. This film will also not be a part of the lame Marvel or DC universes and instead will be a part of The KingYao Universe. The vision of my plans shall be laid out as following -The plot will be a completely new character named Lord Vader is ultimately betrayed by the galactic empire and Emperor Palpatine tries to kill him so Vader is left alone facing off against hundreds and thousands of the Empire's Stormtroopers. Meanwhile the Empire also destroys all of the Jedi Order and everyone on the Jedi counsel is dead except for Grandmaster Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi. But this new Lord Vader has no connection to Darth Vader and he has successfully mastered both the Dark Side Of The Force and The Light Side Of The Force and is able to bring back people from the afterlife. Therefore Lord Vader approaches Grandmaster Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi and asks for their help and in return he brings Qui-Gon Jinn back from the dead. Then all four of them face off against an entire Empire of hundreds of thousands of Stormtroopers and Siths in the most epic intergalactic battle of all-time. In the end Lord Vader gets his revenge on the Empire, the other three Jedi are also able to get vengeance against the Sith. In the aftermath of the war, the Force is finally restored back to balance because now the Dark Side and the Light Side of the Force can coexist in harmony with each other. May The Force Guide and Unite Us All!The role of Lord Vader shall be played by me and I will crush my enemies totally and erase them all from existence. I will show no mercy and no forgiveness will be given. The time for Lord Vader to rise is coming soon. I will create a GoFundMe Campaign fundraiser later today to reveal my plans to create The KingYao Universe and leave Marvel, DC, and Star Wars behind to wallow in their own misery. The New World Order I've been planning for 17 long years shall finally be given birth to and the entire Multiverse will be a witness to my plans & the arrival of The KingYao Avengers 🪬📜✔️#KingYao 👑#ReverseFlashpointParadox ⌛#ReverseFlashpointParadox2 ⏳#KingYaoAvengers 🥇#KingYaoDynasty 🏆#TheKingYaoUniverse 🌐#WeWereAllWitnesses 👀🔙 #KingYaoNation ♾️🐐🥇✔️

Smallville is a 10 season television series that was originally released on the CW network. It is also arguably the best Superman film/series to exist. Tom Welling gives a phenomenal portrayal of a young Clark Kent growing into both his powers and into the honorable, just man that is to become Superman.
You are first introduced to Clark Kent when he arrives to Planet Earth as a small toddler via an extraterrestrial space ship during a meteor shower in Smallville, Kansas. It is on that day of the meteor shower that he meets Martha and Johnathan Kent, his soon to be adoptive parents. Over the first 4 seasons of Smallville, we get to experience Clarks growing pains as not only a young man navigating the complex life of a teenager, but as he navigates his ever growing powers and the responsibilities that come with them. Clark is surrounded by an ever-loving and supportive community that help guide him through his journey - including his adoptive parents, his best friends (Chloe, Pete, Lana, and Lex), his ultimate love interest Lois Lane, as well as a disembodied voice of his biological father, Jor-El.
It is during Clarks formative years as a teenager that we are able to watch him grow into his powers and learn what it means to have such responsibilities. There are moments when he wishes that he were a normal human being, and moments when that wish is granted. Inevitably things always turn south and a villain arises. It is then when Clark is rendered powerless, realizing the importance and purpose that he and his abilities play in the lives of those that surround him. Clark also learns that he can't trust everyone. He finds that although some may have started out as good friends, their true intentions or tendencies are not what they originally seemed. Clark must navigate through the challenges of making friends and foes, determining who he can really trust with his deepest secrets.
In the last 6 seasons, we get to see Clark branch of into the real world, become more independent. We see him enter into the career of a journalist at the Daily Planet as a cover for his identity as Superman. He also joins a team of super powered/talented vigilante hero types that protect others. Ultimately, we get to see the Clark Kent grow into the Superman that we know and grew up with.
Smallville is a phenomenal show and I give it a 10 out of 10 in the portrayal of Superman and in the world of DC superhero films/shows. You can watch this show on Hulu, Amazon Prime, and Disney+.

'How To Watch All of Us Strangers Online
Released on Streaming: February 22 (US), March 20 (CA, UK, AU)
Stream: Hulu (US) | Disney Plus (CA, UK, AU)
Best Deal: US subscribers can get the Disney Plus bundle from $9.99 a month
Watch All Of Us Strangers: Synopsis
If Saltburn brought about a resurgence for Sophie Ellis Baxter's "Murder on the Dancefloor", I don't see why All of Us Strangers wouldn't have the same impact on Frankie Goes to Hollywood's "The Power of Love", especially now Andrew Haig's movie has found its home around the world on both Hulu and Disney Plus. Starring the magnetic Irish duo Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal, find out all the details below on how to watch All of Us Strangers online where you are.
Seemingly the only occupants of their apartment building, Adam is a lonely TV writer who initially rejects Harry's advances. Seeking inspiration, Adam returns to his childhood home and has a vision of his parents who died when he was twelve in a car accident. He has dinner with them and promises to come back soon to visit. Upon his return to his flat, he meets Harry in the lift again, and from there a relationship between the pair begins to spark.
One of Paul Mescal's best roles, he portrays Harry alongside Andrew Scott's Adam in this moving and profound portrayal of grief and loneliness. A coming-of-age tale in its own right, All of Us Strangers also explores the queer experience and mental health through Haig's tender lens.
Incredibly emotional, the ending of All of Us Strangers certainly gives Aftersun's a run for its money. And you can check out the movie now for yourself with its arrival on Disney Plus in global markets and Hulu in the States...'

Streaming Update
While writers and actors are on strike, there is still, fortunately, entertainment available to distract ourselves from the misery in the world that includes certain deviations in climate.
We recently completed the second series of "Dark Winds," on AMC+, based on the novels by Tony Hillerman. There are only six hour-long episodes, but they are packed with excitement and intrigue, as well as Native culture.
Zahn McClarnon, who stars as Joe Leaphorn in "Dark Winds," also has a small role in another Native-centered series, "Reservation Dogs," which is currently showing its third — and, sadly, final — series on Hulu. We will miss this hilarious, touching, and culturally enlightening contribution.
Taika Waititi, one of the creators of "Reservation Dogs," is an executive producer on HBO's "Our Flag Means Death," which begins its second series in October. He also performs the role of Blackbeard in this comedy set during the golden age of pirates in the 18th century. We'll be tuning in for sure.
We binged the fifth series of "Unforgotten" in about three days, thanks to access via the PBS Passport. Nicola Walker's character died at the end of the fourth series, and a new DCI has stepped in to lead the team solving cold cases of disappearance and murder. According to IMDb, there appears to be another series to follow, thankfully.
Another new PBS offering is the third series of "Van der Valk," a British crime drama adapted from the series of novels by Nicholas Freeling. We have seen the first of three episodes and look forward to running through these.
We were directed by Nancy's daughter to an offering from Netflix, "Beef," a comedy/drama about two strangers whose involvement in a road rage incident escalates into a prolonged feud. It stars Steven Yeun and Ali Wong and is hard to watch and impossible to stop watching.
The second series of "The Bear" kept us enthralled as Carmy's sandwich shop was transformed into a high-class restaurant, and we hope that a third series will eventually arrive to continue the story. This FX production, which airs on Hulu, has gotten numerous awards and nominations for writing, directing and acting.
There are plenty of shows that keep us in front of the television screen, so there might be some left out of this latest update, but there is one more we're having fun with: "Only Murders in the Building," a Hulu original, is running through its third series, while stars Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez attempt to solve yet another murder in their apartment building.
Stay tuned for more updates, and keep your fingers crossed that the studios come to terms soon with the writers and actors so that more entertainment can be produced.

Can you please write something with Michael where the reader and him are hanging out, and she does something that accidentally really turns him on but she's not aware of it? And he holds it in until he can't anymore and things escalate? <3
Tumblr media
warnings: smut
wc: 1.6k
_____________________________________________________
Y/N impatiently waited for Michael to arrive, staring at her clock.
8:24
He should be there any minute.
Her foots tapping the ground, Never Had the Balls is playing in the background. She's trying to make time fly, waiting for her friend; her best friend to get there.
Her mysterious, undeniably gorgeous best friend, who has a sweet spot for her and her only.
It doesn't take anyone long to realize her obvious attraction to him, besides him, of fucking course. She tries to make him notice, wearing tank tops that would make her breasts stand out more, pants that would outline her curves. She thinks that it doesn't work, that he doesn't realize that she's showing herself off.
'When is he going to kiss me?' She thinks constantly to herself. 'Does he even want to?'
The doorbell rings and Y/N jumps. She reaches for her phone and sees a missed call from Michael. She runs downstairs to let him in.
"Hi," He says.
"Hey, sorry if I kept you waiting," Y/N apologizes.
"No worries," He says, his eyes traveling down her body, analyzing his best friend. His eyes move quick, making sure she doesn't notice that he's checking her out. She turns around and heads back upstairs with Michael following behind her. They go to her room and she goes to find her bong and resumes the music playing.
Stargirl Interlude comes on. Michael can't help but acknowledge Y/N's beauty, and everything about her. The music she plays, the clothes she wears, how she looks. She's perfect to him. He sits across from her bed on a chair and she comes back over, taking a hit of the bong and then handing it to him.
She lights it for him, he coughs when he takes the hit, like every other time.
Her aura is magnetic, so is his.
The way they look at each other, you'd think they were a couple. They sure acted like one.
Now they're on her bed, watching short hulu films. They're awfully close, he can basically feel her body on his. He's bored of the film while she's engaged. He takes notice of her slight shaking.
"Are you scared?" He asks.
"No," She refuses to admit. "Just cold. I'm gonna go grab a sweatshirt."
'No, don't do that.' He thinks to himself, feeling guilty for thinking about his best friend in that way, a way in which he doesn't want her to cover up, but when she come back wearing his sweatshirt, he fucking loses it inside.
She takes notice of his darkened expression.
"I'm sorry, I never gave this back," She says, thinking he's angry with her for stealing it. She moves to take the sweatshirt off, but he stops her quickly.
"No, no, no- you can keep it," He says. He didn't think she could get any prettier, but her in his clothes? He's growing harder by the second. He's embarrassed that this is turning him on, but she doesn't realize what's going on inside of his head.
She goes to sit next to him on the bed, resuming her focus to the TV. All he can look at is her.
The crewneck fits her perfectly. All he's thinking about is pushing her down on the bed and fucking her senseless while she's wearing his sweatshirt.
It's getting late and he's painfully hard, wild thoughts running through his mind, wishing that the two of them had more time together before he had to go back home.
And soon that time comes. She walks him to the door, disappointed that this get together was like the rest; where nothing happened between them.
She doesn't notice the obvious erection because he seems in such a hurry to go, she thinks she did something wrong.
"Bye, Y/N," He says, giving her a wave before quickly heading out. He didn't even know if he'd make it to his car. He stops himself, looking back at her door.
Y/N is making her way back upstairs before she hears loud banging at the door.
She's confused and goes back to open the door and Michael bursts in, grabbing her quickly and pulling her in, grabbing her face with both hands, kissing her passionately. He couldn't help himself. She's intoxicating. And he's shocked that she's kissing him back.
His hands roam her body as he slightly grinds against her stomach, getting as much friction as possible. She reaches around his neck, tugging on his hair and he lets out a groan, breaking the kiss.
His hand is in hers, and she's leading him up to her room. He kicks the door shut behind him and his lips are back on hers. He pulls his sweatshirt off her and chuckles.
"Thief." He jokes.
"You left it here."
"I'm glad I did," He says, resuming the kiss only to break it again. "You look so fucking good in it. I couldn't help myself. If your other clothes weren't enough..."
He kisses her again roughly.
So he did notice.
She smiles into the kiss. His hands are groping her ass, feeling every inch of her. Her back slightly arches, rubbing against his erection and he hisses. He pushes her onto the bed, planning on doing exactly what he wanted to.
He tears her shirt off and reaches for her breasts, squeezing them tightly as he continues to kiss her, but stops again and she wines.
"You're okay with this, right?" He asks.
"More than okay."
"Good," He begins kissing her neck, unclasping her bra. "Because you have no idea how long I've wanted to see you like this; under me, face fucking flushed."
His hand brushes her cheek and then immediately dives back in to scatter hickeys all along her neck. Her stomach is fluttering and she grabs his face to pull him back in for a kiss but he avoids it, biting her breast and then sucking. She lets out small cries as he kneads her other one and grinds against her. His hand reaches down and he circles her clit through her pants. He moves her hips up and she helps him get her pants off.
He's impatient, tearing off her panties in a heartbeat and dives in with kitten licks and can taste her getting wetter by the second. Her backs arching and her chest moves up and down rapidly as he goes faster, moving his tongue down to her leaking hole and licking up all her juices. He moves his hand to her clit, pressing down and rubbing in tight, fast circles while continuing to devour her.
"Fuck," She struggles to get out, trying to muffle her moans with a pillow. Michael grabs it quickly and throws it across the room and then sucks on her clit harshly. She lets out a loud moan and she's shaking, nearing her release, but then Michael stops suddenly anther eyes widen. She sits up and grabs his arm. "Please don't stop, Michael, it feels so good."
"I want you to release around me."
He's pulling his pants down, his thick cock springing out of his pants has Y/N's mouth watering.
He lines himself up with her, rubbing against her to lubricate himself. She's grinding her pussy against him, biting her lip and letting out small winces. He's enjoying her wining, continuing to tease her which grows her frustration.
"Michael," She wines. "Fucking put it in."
His hand slowly travels up her body and then wraps around her neck.
"Darling, I'll put it in when I want to," He smirks, earning a glare from her. She continues squirming and grinding, desperate for it. She feels hot, she's aching for him.
"Please," She begins to beg. With that, he pushes himself into her and release a pent up moan. He stays in her for a moment, looking at her expression. Her legs are spread wide open for him, her face red, lips puffy, panting like a dog. He pulls out and pushes back in, quickening his pace as she become more adjusted to his cock.
She's loud, throwing her head back as her hands travel to his hair too tug. He's pounding her hard, groaning loudly as she tugs and as he feels her walls fluttering around him.
"Taking me so well," He kisses her cheek. "Just like I always knew you would, perfect little thing."
Her eyes roll to the back of her head as he sweet talks her and she lifts her hips to follow his rhythm, feeling him deep inside of her. He goes faster and she feels him everywhere, hitting her sweet spot so perfectly.
"God, it feels so good,"
His hand grabs her neck harshly and he stares into her eyes while continuing to fuck her ruthlessly.
"Yeah? Who's making you feel so good? Cause it's certainly not God."
"You," She says, her doe eyes looking deep into his dark ones. She moves her hips faster as the coil in her stomach begins to snap.
His movements become sloppy as he chases his own release.
Y/N's nails dig into his back and he kisses her again, feeling her clench against him.
"You gonna cum?" He questions. She nods her head quickly. "Yeah? You're gonna cum nice and hard on my cock? Yeah?"
"Mhm." She nods, her wet sounds, moans, and Michael pounding into her fills the room. Her eyes roll back when she finally releases, Michael following shortly behind her, making sure every bit of his seed goes inside of her.
He pulls out, the two of them panting relentlessly. She closes her legs but Michael pushes them back open, leaning down to lick up the mess that the two of them made.
"You're so. Fucking. Hot." He says in-between licks. She smiles, not responding, comprehending what had just happened.
"Why didn't you kiss me sooner?" She asks.
He stops what he's doing and kisses her once more.
"Believe me, I've wanted to," He moves her strands of hair behind her ears. "But you, in my fucking sweatshirt, I just couldn't control myself."

Over the Net (Haikyuu!!)
Primary Universe
Oh my gosh, I’ve been dying to post this fic all week!! HAIKYUU!! I started watching this anime towards the end of January and I’ve just finished season two on Hulu. I love it so much! Kageyama is my absolute favorite character, and before I’d even finished season one I knew I wanted to write about him getting into a tickle fight with Hinata. So here you go! Enjoy!! 😁💖
~
“Hinata!” Kageyama snapped, making the redhead wince. The volleyball rolled between them on its way to the end of the court. The problem was that it was still on their side of the court. “Over the net! Not off of it!”
“I know!” Hinata snapped back. It was way too early in the morning to be dealing with this guy’s attitude. He and Kageyama had arrived at the gym earlier than the rest of the team to practice. Since they had their sets down pretty well at this point, Kageyama had insisted they focus on Hinata’s serves, which were traditionally bad. This was the tenth one in a row he’d bounced off the net.
“You don’t act like you know.” Kageyama picked up the ball and marched right up to him, glowering. “Over the net.” He thrust the ball at Hinata. “Do it right.”
“I know it’s supposed to go over the net, Kageyama.” Hinata grumbled, grabbing onto the ball and shoving back. “Believe it or not, I do actually know how to play the game.”
“Yeah, but you can’t start the game to save your life. We’ve lost too many points because of your lousy serves.” The ball was shoved against Hinata’s chest again. “So fix them already.”
“I’m trying.” Shoved against Kageyama. “That’s what practice is for, remember?”
“Stop giving the ball back to me.” Kageyama shoved again, this time forcing Hinata a step back. “You’re the one who needs it for all that practice.”
“Stop shoving it at me,” Hinata pushed back, making Kageyama stumble this time, “and I will, you jerk.”
This time Kageyama ditched all pretense. He dropped the ball and pushed at Hinata’s shoulders. Hinata tried to push at his, but he was too tall, so instead he shoved at his chest. Back and forth they went, growing increasingly frustrated with each other.
“Why are you pushing me?!” Kageyama demanded.
Hinata struggled to stay on his feet. “Why are you pushing me?!”
“Serve better!”
“I’m trying!” Hinata used all of his strength to push Kageyama away from him, intending to pick up the volleyball and start practicing again, but this time he wasn’t focused on where he was pushing, and he ended up digging his fingers into the taller boy’s stomach as he shoved, and Kageyama giggled.
Both of them froze. The gym went silent. Hinata’s eyes widened. “Kageyama, was that a—”
“No.” The raven-haired teen straightened with a glare.
“Are you ticklish?”
“No!” Kageyama instinctively took a step back when Hinata started for him, and when the redhead grinned, he knew he’d just given himself away. Crap. He turned on his heel and sprinted for the door.
He wasn’t entirely sure why he thought he could get away. Hinata had his disadvantages when it came to playing the game, but one thing he’d had on his side from the very first day they met was his speed. He plowed into Kageyama from behind, sending them both crashing to the floor, and before the taller boy could recover, Hinata’s fingers were deep in his sides.
“Nohoho!” He sputtered, fighting back his giggles while trying to roll over and push his teammate off of him. But as soon as he was even remotely on his side, Hinata’s fingers darted around to his stomach again, and Kageyama couldn’t help the quiet huffs of laughter escaping him. “Hinata!”
“You are ticklish!” Hinata exclaimed as though it was the most exciting discovery in the world. His fingers flew across his friend’s torso, eliciting gasps and giggles and even a squeal once in response. “Man, if I’d known this was all it took to shut you up I’d have done it a long time ago!”
“Stohohohop!” Kageyama pleaded, throwing his pride out the window. He’d already been reduced to a helpless, giggling mess; what more did he have to lose now? “Hinahahata, get ohohoff!”
“No way! This is too much fun!”
Fun? Kageyama blushed. He mustered up all the energy he had left to fight with and finally succeeded in rolling onto his back, but the instant he was able to see the gym ceiling again he regretted everything, because now Hinata had full access to his stomach and he was definitely taking advantage of that.
“Tickle, tickle, tickle!” Hinata teased, beaming at his increasingly flustered friend. Kageyama tossed his head back and laughed, unable to do much more than squirm at this point. “Wow, you’re really ticklish, Kageyama!”
“STAHAHAP!! Hihihihinatahahaha!” Kageyama’s smile was surprisingly bright and childlike for someone who was usually so serious. He flailed beneath the redhead as laughter poured out of him, bouncing off the walls of the empty gym and reverberating back to where he lay on the floor, making him even more embarrassed. “Stohohohohohop, plehehehehease! Hinatahahahaha!”
“Hmm, I wonder how much you like raspberries?” Hinata contemplated aloud, and before Kageyama could protest, he’d shoved his friend’s sweater up just enough for him to blow directly onto his stomach above his belly button.
Kageyama shrieked with laughter, mortified by the sounds coming out of him. Thankfully, he still had the wherewithal to use Hinata’s new position to his advantage, and right before the smaller boy sat back up, he grabbed a fistful of that bright hair and pulled.
“Ow, ow, ow!” Hinata yelped in pain, his hands flying up to free himself. “Kageyama!”
Kageyama pushed himself up off the ground and tackled Hinata to the floor in his place, wasting no time in clawing into the boy’s ribs and sides in retaliation. He couldn’t help but smirk when Hinata immediately burst into hysterical giggles and squirmed crazily beneath him.
“Nohohoho, stahahahahahahap! Kageyama!”
Kageyama settled himself easily on Hinata’s thighs, pinning him in place while randomly poking and squeezing at various ticklish spots on his torso. “You started it, idiot.”
“Plehehehehehease, I’m sohohohohorry!”
“Begging already? Come on, take it like a man.”
“Buhuhuhut it tihihihihihihickles!” Hinata whined.
“You didn’t hear me begging so quickly. Aren’t you always saying you’ll beat me? Stay on the court the longest and all that?”
“Nohohohohohohot like thihihihihihis!” Hinata squealed and arched his back, hands flying down to desperately grab at Kageyama’s wrists. “NOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO!!”
“No? Not here?” Kageyama dug his fingers deeper into Hinata’s lower ribs, and Hinata shrieked. “Found a good spot, huh?”
“STAHAHAHAHAHAP!!” Hinata was thrashing now, laughter exploding from his lungs in loud, screaming bursts that made it impossible for Kageyama not to grin. “PLEHEHEHEHEHEASE!!”
“No more messing around,” Kageyama said, slowing his attacks to a stop and climbing off his smaller teammate. “You’ve seriously got to improve your serves.”
“H-Hold on a second,” Hinata gasped as he pushed himself into a sitting position, looking up at the raven-haired boy. “Are we just going to pretend that didn’t happen?”
Kageyama moved to retrieve the volleyball. “What’s the big deal? So we’re both ticklish. Why is that a surprise?”
Hinata got to his feet. “But you were denying it.”
“So?” Kageyama tossed him the ball, which the redhead caught, albeit a bit clumsily.
“So you’re a liar.”
“Are you telling me you wouldn’t have denied it if you’d been in my position?” Kageyama sighed. “Let it go, idiot. I’m ticklish, you’re ticklish. End of story. Now let’s get back to practice.”
Hinata stayed where he was. “…we just tickled each other.”
“Well, we’re friends, aren’t we?” Kageyama snapped, crossing his arms as he took his place by the net once more. “Isn’t that something friends do?”
Hinata blinked, surprised, feeling a warmth spread through his chest. He couldn’t help the smile that broke out on his face all over again. “Yeah, you’re right.”
“So let it go already,” Kageyama said. “And serve it over the net this time.”

Editor’s Note: TV moves on, but we haven’t. In our feature series It Still Stings, we relive emotional TV moments that we just can’t get over. You know the ones, where months, years, or even decades later, it still provokes a reaction? We’re here for you. We rant because we love. Or, once loved. And obviously, when discussing finales in particular, there will be spoilers:
There was a time when Veronica Mars’ legacy was that of a beloved cult show that was canceled too soon by network executives who didn’t understand it. With the arrival of a crowd-funded feature film in 2014, its legacy evolved as one of the first shows to see the benefits of a revival. Now, it simply brings thoughts of sadness, rage, and betrayal.
When Hulu first announced it was reviving the series for an eight-episode fourth season, the news was met with resounding joy from a vocal and passionate fanbase that had never given up hope it would return after the crowd-funded feature film reunited Kristen Bell’s Veronica, a pint-sized private eye with a sharp mind and even sharper wit, with her one true love, the reformed bad boy Logan Echolls (Jason Dohring). But the fire that had burned for more than a decade and twice-revived the show was suddenly extinguished in a single, heartbreaking, and wholly unnecessary moment when Logan was killed by a bomb left in Veronica’s car shortly after the couple exchanged wedding vows.
Tumblr media
I can still remember the shock I felt when I reached the end of the screeners Hulu sent. The whole thing felt kind of surreal, like if I didn’t acknowledge what had happened out loud maybe it didn’t actually happen. But it did happen. And I’m still filled with a fiery rage and a deep sadness when I think about it now, nearly two years removed from the episode in question, because needlessly killing Logan was a betrayal of the worst kind. The character’s untimely demise felt engineered for nothing more than shock value, like it existed only to leave Veronica even more isolated and cynical. But the interviews that series creator Rob Thomas gave in the aftermath, in which he tried to defend the decision, revealed something much worse while only driving the knife he’d stuck in fans’ backs deeper.
“In order for us to keep doing these, I think it needs to become a detective show—a noir, mystery, detective show—and those elements of teenage soap need to be behind us,” Thomas told TV Guide of the decision to kill Logan, noting that he also hoped to take Veronica out of Neptune and on the road in potential future seasons. “I sort of viewed these eight episodes as a bridge to what Veronica Mars might be moving forward.”
Tumblr media
Instead of being a bridge to the future, it was a bridge to a grave of Thomas’ own making. Not since How I Met Your Mother ignored literal years of character development to deliver a half-cooked series finale the creators had come up with several years prior has a show felt so out of touch with its characters, the story it was telling, and its fans. Thomas’ decision to kill Logan is the perfect example of a creator being unable to recognize their own biases to the detriment of their creation.
He wrongly believed that Veronica needed to be hardened by years of nonstop torment and trauma in order to prove she was a great detective whose story was worth continuing. In putting her through the emotional wringer (again) after spending the entire season attempting to dig into her flaws and determine the root of her problems, Thomas swiftly undermined his heroine and her trauma with one misguided act of devastating violence. The fact that Thomas then chose to also skip over Veronica’s grieving process entirely reveals how little he ultimately thought of Logan or Veronica’s relationship with him, which had pushed her to be better and work through her longtime trust issues.
Tumblr media
It is common knowledge by now that Logan was not intended to be Veronica’s love interest when the show debuted, but the fans took to the character more than they took to Teddy Dunn’s Duncan “He Used to Be My Boyfriend” Kane, so the latter was jettisoned from the show after Season 2. And in the end, Logan turned out to be a much better partner and match for Veronica’s personality. So what’s truly unfortunate about Thomas killing Logan, and killing him so violently, is that his thought process during Season 4 has the potential to color everything that happened in the show up until the moment the bomb went off. There is also the issue that Thomas apparently believed that Veronica achieving some level of romantic happiness was a one-way ticket to the grave, as if shows like Friday Night Lights hadn’t already soundly debunked the myth that happy couples did not make great TV.
Obviously an emotional family drama does not play by the same rules as noir, but Veronica Mars had already proven that you don’t need to play firmly within the sandbox of the genre to excel creatively. So why should the more adult version of the show attempt to put itself back in the box to be confined to something more traditional or stereotypical? Furthermore, love and contentment are not character flaws or weaknesses. They are not an element of “teenage soap,” as Thomas put it. In fact, one could argue that by allowing herself to believe that she and Logan could have a happy future together regardless of everything she’d witnessed in her line of work, Veronica had shown more personal and emotional growth in the show’s fourth season than she had in the entire run of the series.
Tumblr media
At the heart of the matter, though, is one simple, glaring truth: Logan’s death was a fundamental misreading of the entire Veronica Mars fandom and what they liked about the show. Storytelling should never be dictated by the fans and their desires—one of the loudest and most common complaints critics had about the movie was that it felt too much like Thomas was just giving the fans what they wanted rather than attempting to tell a good story—but when your fandom has dug their hands into the cold soil of the TV graveyard to raise your show from the dead, you should probably have a grasp on what exactly the fans like about it in the first place. After all, they’re the reason you still exist and will be one of the final arbiters of whether or not you get to continue to exist in the future. And the idea that fans would somehow be interested in watching a version of Veronica Mars in which Veronica was on the road, completely alone, and Logan was blown to bits is just a wild miscalculation.
Tumblr media
This isn’t to suggest Veronica Mars could not ever survive without Logan. That would be to undercut the rest of the show and the woman Veronica has become since we first saw her cutting Wallace (Percy Daggs III) off the flagpole in the series’ pilot. But there is a difference in writing Logan out of the show’s ongoing story arc—his secretive Naval career offered the perfect out—and violently killing him in an attempt to shock viewers and show just how resilient your heroine is in the face of trauma. A survivor of rape who had to solve the murder of her best friend (Amanda Seyfried) while still in high school because the sheriff’s department was too inept to do it (or simply did not care to do it), Veronica had already been through more in her young life than anyone should ever have to live through.
Although Logan’s death led to her finally seeing a therapist, it seemed to be a one-time thing, so nothing has really changed. Veronica is still the same person she was before the show returned, except now she’s also a widow and Thomas has alienated an entire fanbase to the point that many fans, though likely not all, have no interest in revisiting her story. And they’re not likely to either, since Hulu chose not to move forward with another season.
So much for that bridge to the future.

Reni Manukyan Now: Where is Ibragim Todashev's Wife Today? Update
As a docuseries that aims to get to the truth behind the Waltham triple homicide and its connection with the Boston Marathon bombings, ‘The Murders Before the Marathon’ is truly captivating. After all, this 3-part Hulu original covers every aspect through not just first-hand accounts of an investigative journalist but also archival audio-video footage of everyone close to these matters. Amongst them is, of course, accused killer Ibragim Todashev’s wife Reni Manukyan — so now, if you wish to learn more about her as well as her current standing, we’ve got the details for you.
Who is Reni Manukyan?
Since Reniya “Reni” Manukyan had officially emigrated to the US from Russia in 2006, she actually came across Chechen immigrant Ibragim naturally (through his roommate) in May 2010. The suburban Atlanta-living Armenian had come to visit the latter in Boston, only to end up exchanging numbers with the then-24-year-old mixed martial artist upon feeling a deep spark. They courted for less than two months before the 20-year-old converted to Islam for good and married Ibragim in a traditional mosque ceremony in July, following which he relocated to Georgia for her.
However, because Ibragim had trouble finding work, he moved back to Massachusetts around the summer of 2011, just for things to drastically take a turn for both him and his wife near fall. As per Reni’s initialaccounts, her husband had left the area in August, with her having proof he was in Atlanta the day after the September 11 slayings, but she never presented the same. Yet the most complex facet is that even though they’d separated by early 2012 and he was soon living with a girlfriend in Florida, they still spoke as well as shared assets, including a white Mercedes.
Reni and Ibragim were thus both extensively interrogated once his name was linked to the murders in May 2013; it’s just he was slain during his for reportedly trying to attack an FBI agent. Nevertheless, the then-assistant hotel housekeeping manager never believed in the officials’ narrative because they changed their story so often that “it looks like they’re not even sure of what happened that night.” She frustratingly expressed, “They kept changing, and we hadn’t said anything before they came out with all these different versions. They might change it again… I just don’t understand why you would shoot someone who was unarmed.”
Where is Reni Manukyan Now?
From what we can tell, Reni returned to her homeland of Russia around 2014 and possibly continues to reside there to this day — if she is located in the US, she will have to face the federal court. That’s because a grand jury indicted her in 2016 for “knowingly” making “a materially false, fictitious and fraudulent” statement to the FBI during her crucial interrogation “on or about May 21, 2013.”
According to this indictment, Reni “falsely stated to agents of the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force that a named individual with whom she associated had returned to Atlanta, Georgia, on a bus after his employment in the State of Massachusetts ended in or about August 2011 when in fact and as the defendant well knew, the defendant met that individual in the State of New York on or about September 13, 2011, and drove him to Atlanta, Georgia.” The official documents do not identify the individual, yet the docuseries implies it was none other than her husband, Ibragim, who’d arrived in New York by bus.

She was finally able to visit her family for a few weeks with Calum and Duke accompanying her on the trip. Staying in her childhood bedroom had its drawbacks of not being intimate with each other. Not that Calum went without trying. He’d move in to give her a goodnight kiss, distracting her with his lips while his hand attempted to slip under her pajama bottoms.
“Hold your horses, handsy,” she’d giggle and pull his hand away. “Wait until we’re alone.”
“We are alone,” he’d pout against her neck.
“My parents are right across the hall. You know me, I can’t be quiet.” She’d play with his hair affectionately trying to appease him.
“I love that you can’t be quiet,” he’d smile back then sigh deeply, it tickled her skin. “Fine, but when we get back home…you’re mine.”
After rekindling their relationship, it was stronger than ever. They found a routine that included a workout regime while also spending some alone time apart. Sure, they still had their qualms, but the resolve was quicker than before.
She was so happy to help out with the Wildflower video when that happened and made sure to follow Andy’s instructions to a T as she helped him film it. She loved watching him do his own workout routine by the pool, his muscles rippling and glistening in the midday sun was a sight for sore eyes.
One day, he was holed up in his music room on a call with the guys. She assumed it was about tour and she could hear the frustration and sadness in his voice as she passed by to start dinner. While she cooked she suddenly felt a wave of guilt wash over her because spending this time with him when he should be on tour made her happy.
His door opened half an hour later with him running his fingers through his hair in distress.
“Smells good, baby,” he says moving behind her. His hands rest on her waist, he kisses her cheek then holds her for a moment. He sighs heavily.
“What’s going on with the guys?” she asks carefully, not wanting to add her own salt to the wound.
“We couldn’t reschedule all the tour dates,” he says sadly. “We were thinking of making the set longer since it was held off, hopefully have the fifth album out before then so we can double new songs. We’ll see.”
“I think that’d be great, the fans would love a longer set.”
He hums in agreement watching her sprinkle some parmesan cheese over the fish, his lips pulsing on her shoulder like little fish kisses. When she has to put the pan in the oven, she pats his hands which he removes so she can do her task then sets the timer for the appropriate time. She takes Calum’s hand then leads him to the couch so they can sit together.
“What else is on your mind?” she asks curling her fingers in his hair, he leans into her touch resting his hand on her thigh.
“Ash said he’s been creating his own solo album since all of this started and he’s nearly finished with it.”
“Really? Wow, that’s great for him!”
“Yeah…it is,” he starts to chew on the nail of his thumb lost in thought. “It got me thinking.”
“Of?” she continues to play with his hair, his own hand rubbing circles on her thigh.
“What if I…I might want to put an actual book of my own writings together.”
“Really?! I think that’s an awesome idea!” she exclaims kissing his cheek excitedly.
“You do?”
“Yeah! Your writing is incredible, honey. Poetry is becoming such a big thing again, it helps others not feel so alone, it brings out their emotions. What would you write about?”
“You,” he smiles leaning forward to press a delicate kiss to her lips. “Me, the guys, growing up as a kid, other thoughts I have.”
“It already sounds like a bestseller.”
“I don’t know where to start,” he huffs. He shifts on the couch so he’s lying on her chest, his curls tickle her chin, they hug each other close.
“Wherever you want to,” she kisses the top of his head. “They’re your words, your thoughts, your feelings.”
They sit in a comfortable silence while dinner cooks, she continues to play with his hair and rub his back with her other hand. She’s excited to see his process with this, something that’s his own creation. When the oven timer goes off, he helps her set everything else up for dinner, both of them are stuck in their own thoughts and musings.
Bedtime rolls around and Calum’s been flipping through his brown leather notebook he always writes in and the one he gave her for her birthday. He’s waiting for something to jump out at him for a good place to start. While she sleeps, he thinks. And thinks. And thinks. Until an idea blooms in his mind.
The next morning, she wakes to a Calum-less side of the bed. She looks to the bathroom but he’s not in there, then she checks her phone if he texted her that he went to the store or something. She finds the coffee maker is still on with her mug and favorite ingredients set aside for her along with a small handwritten note from Calum.
“Be back soon, love. Getting something for the both of us to enjoy xx Cal”
She smiles at the note, fixes her coffee then ponders what he could possibly be getting for the both of them to enjoy. Her mind immediately goes to something sexual, but they haven’t really discussed anything out of the ordinary as of late. She also found it very sweet that he left a note instead of a text, his romanticism never fails.
Upon waiting for his return, she rinses the dishes and puts them in the dish washer, then decides to take a quick shower. She pulls on some fabric shorts and one of his shirts then prattles about the house until Duke’s barking signifies his arrival.
“Y/N?”
She comes by the door where Calum quickly lifts her into his arms and spins her around, his rumbling laughter makers her join in even though she doesn’t know the joke.
“Where have you been?”
“Come outside but close your eyes.”
He takes her hand then covers her eyes with the other, leading her to the front of the house. Their feet knock together as he guides her to where he wants her.
“Okay, are you ready?”
“Did you get me a pony?” she teases.
“No, silly girl,” he chuckles then removes his hand, but she keeps her eyes closed. “Open.”
When she does, she’s staring at a mini retro camper that’s yellow and white with an outline of a dog painted on the front. She gasps at it; they’ve always talked about getting one so they could do a camping trip together.
“What do you think? Want to check the inside out? It’s pretty spacious inside,” he grins mischievously pulling open the door.
“Oh yeah? Give me the grand tour, sir.”
She takes his hand helping her step inside. Her mouth opens in shock at the updated version inside. White cabinets and furnished wood flooring make the space appear bigger. There’s a small nook with a table for eating, the kitchenette is small with a door leading to the toilet and across that is a small shower. Two small steps lead up to a large bed decorated with an orange bedspread and see through curtains over the back window. Up front is a small couch with pillows and a blanket.
“And, check this out,” he ducks in front of her then pushes a button, a medium flat screen appears behind two cabinets. “We can plug in our firestick as long as we’re in range of a Wifi spot so we can watch Netflix, Hulu, Disney+.”
She looks at all the small details, she loves the wicker basket ottoman in the center of the room and there’s already a small dog bed for Duke next to the table. She loves it.
“I was thinking we could go camping along the coast, I already found two great campsites, bought a grill and other camping supplies. I figured we could get away for a bit, out of the house and into the outdoors. I can work on my writing and it will be relaxing and romantic. What do you think?”
She turns around to stare at him, his head just barely touches the ceiling, but his eyes are bright with excitement. He’s glowing in this little camper that is now theirs. She closes the space between them and wraps her arms around his shoulders giving him a big kiss.
“I think that’s the best idea I’ve ever heard,” she whispers on his lips. “I love it. When can we go? We’ll need to go grocery shopping and get bug spray and travel sized shampoo and other things. Those are so cute, they’re so compact. We’ll have to pack for Duke. I’ll make a list and—”
He silences her rambling with a kiss then backs her further into the camper towards the bed. She crawls into the middle of it, their lips still locked. When he presses his hips against hers, she can feel his arousal and she moans.
“We can do all of that after I take you right here, baby,” he mumbles shifting his lips to her jaw. He lies her back against the orange and white pillows. “We need to christen this bed, hm?”
“Mhm,” she sighs enjoying the feel of his plush lips on her skin. She turns her head to the right so he can continue his kissing path then she notices the door. “Shut the door.”
“Everyone’s in their houses…”
“Cal,” she laughs pushing on his shoulder playfully. “If you go close the door, I’ll be naked and waiting for you.”
That grabs his attention. He pulls back giving her a questioning look. He bounds off the bed, the camper rocking with his motions as he shuts the door and locks it. By the time he’s back at the steps, she is indeed naked, trailing her fingers down and over her breasts to in between her legs. She lifts a finger, motioning him forward in a ‘come here’ fashion.
“Fuck,” he sighs and removes his own clothes, quickly joining her on the bed.
She giggles at his excitement dragging his mouth to hers, his hand grips at her thigh then curves in between her folds. Moans replace her giggles when his finger slips inside, curling and twiddling against her spongy wall.
“So wet already? Can’t have you ruin this new bedspread before we get on the road, can I?”
“What are you gonna do about it?” she smirks, then winces when he removes his finger.
“Lick you up.”
He looks up at her with lust filled eyes, brushing his lips in barely there kisses down her stomach then wiggles his tongue over her clit. He moans at the taste and laves her up more with his tongue.
“Mm, Cal…” she whines wriggling her upper body. He flattens his tongue, doing deep swipes up and down her folds before suctioning onto her clit. She rests her heel on his shoulder just when he inserts a finger. “Yes!”
He smiles against her, pumping his finger slowly paired with the roll of his tongue. He adds another and ups the ante until she’s panting in staccato breaths. Moans tickle past her tongue the faster he goes chasing her orgasm.
“Come for me, baby…let me feel you,” he whispers and at his words her stomach clenches and her heart jolts in her chest. He moans with her to heighten the arousal then when she teeters off he kisses the inside of her thigh. “Good girl.”
He moves his face back, but she pulls on his hair, jerking his head up so he looks at her.
“Need you now. Please,” she whimpers.
Very slowly, he licks his lips then pulls his fingers out of her. Very slowly, he licks those, too before clambering on top of her. She reaches for his hardened dick, guiding him inside. He sinks into her easily, moaning into her mouth while he fucks her. She rocks her hips with his, meeting his rhythm with a desirable frenzy.
Their motions are rocking the camper slightly, the bed squeaks quietly as they pursue their high together.
“Feel so good,” he pants on her mouth.
“Faster, faster,” she begs.
A few more quick snaps and she cries out in a loud moan, Calum’s body jerks against hers then he pulls out quickly as he releases on her stomach and then they’re both breathing heavily. She swallows thickly, letting out a gust of air and pets his curls that are now a perfect blend of blond and black. Calum lifts his head and tugs on her bottom lip with his teeth.
“I think we rocked this camper.”
She bursts into laughter then sighs, “Yeah we did. You rocked my world, for sure. Giving me a workout in my legs, babe.”
“Sore?” he kisses her nose then slowly rolls onto his back and moves into the small bathroom. He grabs toilet paper wipes himself off, pulls his boxers and pants back on then kneels on the bed to help clean between her legs and on her stomach.
“Thank you.”
“’Course,” he grins peppering kisses on her belly.
“Lay with me for a bit,” she tugs him down next to her, wincing as she lets her legs relax. She fells the strain in her thighs already and shifts into a comfortable position against him. “We’re really going to do this, right? Go camping and leave the world behind for a bit?”
“We’re going to do this,” he strokes her cheek in assurance, loving how flushed they are from the sex they just had. “You and me and Duke. We’ll make smores, nap in here whenever we want—and yes it has air conditioning,” he laughs.
“It sounds so nice,” she sighs closing her eyes then yawns. She usually falls asleep right after, he wears her out.
“Let’s not sleep out here yet, we gotta check on Duke and start a list.”
“I need to shower first,” she sits up stretching her arms above her head. “Toilet paper doesn’t really get the job done.”
“Can I join you?” he smirks springing into a sitting position and kisses her shoulder.
**
Setting up their campsite didn’t take too long when they arrived. The awning on the camper was easy to assemble and setting up their chairs in the front didn’t take that long as well. The camper was already stocked with the food they bought with their clothes in the drawers set about the whole perimeter. She even added a photo of her, Calum and Duke on one wall so it was officially theirs.
They walked along the beach with Duke collecting shells and sea glass they found. They snacked when they wanted, took a nap in their bed with the windows open. It wasn’t until the third day that Calum was struck with inspiration for his poetry book. He sat out in the sun for a while before she woke up, then when he heard commotion he walked in to see her in nothing but his tank top.
The hem just barely covered her ass, she looked sleepy and beautiful while she sang along to the song “Something” by The Beatles and started the coffee pot. He snatched his phone out quickly, took a sneaky picture of her then opened up his notebook, his pen flying across the page.
From then on the words continued to pour out of him. He thought of words and phrases all day, all of them were mainly about Y/N but he didn’t find anything wrong about that. While they sat around their small campfire, they would play their ukuleles together as the sparks became stars.
He’d ask her for help sometimes if he got stuck on the structure of a poem or if he should keep one line or a different one so it would flow better. She was more than happy to help when asked. Sometimes, right before bed, they’d shut all of the lights off and leave the windows and curtains open so the sound of the ocean waves would blow in. They’d be illuminated by the glow of the stars and moon; hands would wander in soft caresses while his lips kissed the shell of her ear.
After about a week and a half when they went into town to use the laundromat, he was on the phone with Michael then with Ashton. She’s reading the poems he’s finished so far, Calum is tracing his fingers over her back while he’s on the phone, but she’s not paying attention. She’s immersed in his words.
“Y/N….babe…hey love,” his voice pulls her from the words on the page.
“Huh, what? Is the wash done?”
“No,” he grins then crouches in front of her. “How would you feel about meeting up with Mike and Crystal at their little getaway in the hills then heading to the desert with Ash for his album release?”
“Sounds like fun,” she smiles. “When do we leave?”
The windows are down as they cruise along the highway towards Michael and Crystal’s campsite. They’re only staying for five days and Y/N is staring at Calum as he drives. His hair flicks in the wind, he has some scruff forming on his jaw and chin that she loves. It’s a soft scratch on her own cheek or in between her thighs that sends her heart haywire.
“Whaddaya starin’ at over there, little lady?” he smirks then goes right back into singing along with Voodoo by ASL.
“Just you,” she grins then notices a love bite is still red on his neck. She touches it with her finger. “I feel selfish for loving all this time with you.”
“Why do you feel selfish?”
“Because you’d be on tour right now. I feel bad for feeling happy.”
“I get it,” he nods then flashes her a smile, eyes sparkling. “Would it make you feel better if I said I’m happy I’m not on tour right now, too? It’s not ideal for a break but I think it’s a break we all need.”
“Yeah…you all seem more…relaxed. Do the guys know about your poetry project?”
“No, I’m gonna wait until I’m finished with it. I also don’t want to take away from Ash’s moment.”
Michael and Crystal’s camper was much larger than theirs, one side was completely made of glass with sliding doors that overlooked the hills and dunes. The four of them went on a hike with Duke in tow and took plenty of pictures with each other.
All too soon it was time to travel on to the desert where Ashton had a whole set up. He rented out some cabins that looked more like tents on a wooden deck. Calum and Y/N opted out so they could use their camper. While his album played in the calm desert night, Y/N and Calum were snuggled up together discussing the songs quietly with each other.
“I’m going to get ready for bed,” she tells him when the album’s played through.
“Already?” Calum asks kissing her cheek.
“Yeah, long day of driving. I’ll get our sleep things ready,” she grins at him.
“I’ll be in soon,” he wraps his arms around her for a hug. “If you wanna sleep naked tonight, I wouldn’t object to that.”
She giggles and smacks his chest playfully.
“And risk our friends sneaking a peek? I don’t think so, babe,” she snickers then bids everyone else goodnight.
Calum watches her leave, his eyes lowering to her sweatpants covered butt that still looks so adorable.
“Stop staring at me, Hood!” she shouts tossing him a flirty smile over her shoulder.
“Can’t help it, my girl’s hot!” he shouts back, and she shakes her head.
He stays with their group of friends for another twenty minutes until he heads inside, Duke trotting along with him. He circles his bed three times then lays down sighing heavily. Calum locks the door, Y/N’s leaning over their bed adjusting the pillows and curtains. All she has on is one of Calum’s t-shirts black cotton panties with pink lace along the edges.
She heard him come in but didn’t turn around, her focus is on the task at hand at assembling their bed. Calum’s hot hands are on her waist, his fingertips gracing the front of her thighs, his mouth by her ear makes her gasp in surprise.
“You’re not naked, but I love this view, too,” he whispers, his teeth grazing her ear lobe.
Shivers spike her neck as Calum presses himself against her, his hard on apparent against her ass. She bites her lip to suppress the moan when his tongue licks at her neck, his thumbs kneading her ass. His lips kiss her skin delicately before he sucks on it, the air from his nose tickles her skin.
“That tickles,” she sighs leaning against him to feel some form of stimulation on her covered core.
“Should I put my lips somewhere else?” he asks, his fingers already pulling down her panties. The fabric falls to her feet, she kicks it away and Calum palms her ass a little roughly. He gives her a light smack, she yelps in response.
“Where’d you…have in mind?” she swallows thickly attempting to turn around. His hands press on her waist to keep her leaning face forward against the bed.
“Stay right there.”
He kisses her lips quickly then drops to his knees; he pushes apart her legs.
“Can you bend over for me, baby? Let me see how wet you are…” he nips at her ass as she complies, his thumbs spreading her open. He hums at the sigh. “You’re throbbing for me, hm?”
“Caaaal,” she whines pushing her ass backwards.
He chuckles and bites her other cheek. He kisses down her thigh, pausing over her dripping core and kisses the other thigh. She groans in frustration and Calum chuckles darkly rubbing his stubble on her flesh.
“Please, please, please,” she whispers shifting her feet.
He loves to tease her, but he loves to please her more, so he closes his mouth around her pussy, his tongue pulsing against her clit. She lets out a small shriek from his wet tongue finally making contact where she’s been needing him. He laps at her furiously as if he’s in a race with himself to make her cum in record time.
His speed does the job because she’s grasping at the bedspread, breathing heavily, her body warming up as her orgasm takes over. She moans his name, her ears ringing as he keeps going, his tongue and lips slurping and suctioning away.
“You sound so hot,” he pants but continues working her over into another orgasm.
All too quickly, he removes his mouth while her orgasm ebbs away. She hears him shuck off his pants then feels his tip nudge between her folds. She lets out a loud moan from more teasing, her fingers clutching at the bedspread. He teases her entrance more and she can’t take it any longer.
“Fuck, Calum…please, no more teasing.”
“You want me that badly, baby?” he leans over her, pressing his weight against her ass with his tip inching in further.
“Yes,” she groans.
“Will you two be quiet?! For fuck’s sake.”
“Don’t listen, then!” Calum shouts back to Ashton and she looks up to see the window by their bed is still open. The curtains lifting lightly from the breeze.
“Cal!” she squeals and pushes the button for the light. They’re flooded in darkness, but she still desperately needs him.
“Kind of hard when Y/N’s so loud!”
“Plug your ears!” Calum calls and presses himself into her more then teases himself back out.
“Cal?” she lifts her head from the bed craning her neck to look at him.
“Yeah baby?”
“Screaming at Ashton is kind of killing the mood. I can be quiet.”
“I like you loud,” he sighs inserting himself once more, this time further than before. She gasps at the stretch.
“We can wait. I—ohh.”
Calum buries himself inside her, filling her completely and silencing whatever she was going to say. He thrusts gently then pulls out until he finds a good pace, the shirt of his that she’s wearing rides up her back. She closes her eyes from the glorious sensation of his pulls and pushes, biting her lip to try and stay quiet. When he hits a certain spot one spills out so she shoves her knuckles in her mouth.
“No, no, give me your hands,” he pants.
He pulls her hand from her mouth, twisting her arms behind her back and holds them in place on her back. He leans over, the angle causing him to push deeper inside her, he thrusts in tiny pulses.
“Want you to be as loud as you can for me, yeah? You like when I take you from behind?” he pulls back slowly and pauses waiting for an answer.
“Feels so good,” she whines into the bedspread. Having her wrists bound by his hand adds to the excitement and her pleasure, the restraint is enticing.
He grins, stands up straight then plunges inside her with force. It makes her cry out in pleasure and he picks up a quick pace, her body pushes against the bed. He squeezes her wrists then smacks her ass every once in a while. She clenches around him sporadically, small orgasms building to the big one that he knows she’s never silent for. Her breathing picks up and so does his.
“There, there, there, yes, yes, yes!” she cries out and he picks up the pace, tightening his hold on her wrists.
She squeezes his cock, a long-pleasured screech breaking through the surface of the bedspread. It’s animalistic and so sexy that he doesn’t even have time to pull out because he’s coming as well. His stomach tightens and untightens, her rapid clenching dragging his orgasm further.
He breathes evenly through his nose once he relaxes, her own body going lax beneath him and he loosens his hold on her wrists. They fall slack beside her as she tries to catch her own breath.
“Don’t move,” murmurs and pulls out of her slowly. She lets out a soft cry from the loss of him inside her, his arousal leaking out a little. He reaches for a washcloth hanging on the towel bar and wets it in the small bathroom sink. “I got you, baby, hold on.”
She gives a non-committal groan as he cleans her up, his teeth marks and a small red shape from his hand stare back at him. He kisses the marks softly, making sure to be careful at her sensitivity. He grabs a towel and dries her off then helps her back into her panties.
“C’mon, into bed,” he says lifting her gently onto the mattress. She falls into a heap, rolling over sluggishly and stares at him through blissful eyes. She reaches for him. “I’m going to brush my teeth quick, then I’m yours, love.”
He’s true to his word and brushes his teeth quickly. When he climbs into bed she latches herself onto him quickly, dragging his mouth to hers in a lazy kiss.
“I’d say I’m mad that all of our friends just heard us have sex, but I’m too fucked out to really mean it,” she murmurs. He laughs against her lips.
“It’s payback for all the times I’ve heard them. They really don’t care, baby,” he slips his hand under her shirt to tickle her back.
“You know what?”
“Hm?”
“Next time can we actually tie my hands together?”
He perks up at that suggestion. “Really?”
“Yeah, I liked it,” she giggles.
“I liked it, too,” he smiles brushing his lips over her hair. “You want to know something?”
“Hm?”
“I just thought of a dozen poems. Your body’s like poetry.”
The rest of the night is spent in lazy kisses until they eventually fall asleep, words and prose circulating in his dreams.

The Struggle of Loving You - Chapter 4
Chapter Selection
I flutter my eyes open and see darkness. I didn't have much of a headache from the alcohol last night.
I groan and sit up, grabbing my phone. It was 6am, I used my phone and turned on my tv. Laying back down, I started Hulu; I heard footsteps approaching my door. The door swung, "Morning." I hummed in response.
"So... you gonna tell Hotch today?" The realization set in, I had to tell him that his wife might be unfaithful. I still couldn't get over it, he didn't do anything to deserve that. I'm not going to hold it over Hayley in case it was a misunderstanding.
Chloe joined me and laid on my bed watching my show with me. I didn't realize time had gone as fast as it did, only realizing when the sun started rising. It was 7:30am by the time I turned off the tv.
I knew I needed to get to Hotch's soon, Chloe got off the bed and went into her room. I stood up and went into the bathroom and took a shower.
When I got out I walked to my closet and threw on a cardigan and jeans. "I'll be back later", I called out so she knew I was leaving. I left the apartment and started driving to his house. It was a Friday, there was a line of cars leading to the city as people left their houses for work.
When I arrived it was 8am, I thought Hayley wasn't going to be here. There were two cars in the driveway, but I knew Hotch was inside.
I used my key and opened the door; I closed the door behind me, placing my things on the side table. My phone started to vibrate, I took it out of my pocket. Hotch.
"I know we were supposed to talk this morning but I got called in early. I don't know if I told you last night but Hayley was able to stay home with Jack today." So whose car was in the driveway.
"Oh okay." I heard a faint sound coming from down the hallway. I knew he wasn't but I needed to make sure. "You're not at the house right?" I wandered down the hallway towards the bedroom and the sounds were getting louder.
"No why? Y/n what's going on?", he had worry in his voice but I didn't answer him. The door to the bedroom was cracked open and I took a peak. I was fucking right. My jaw dropped at the sight in front of me. Hayley was fucking another guy.
I quietly stepped away from the room and back into the living room. "Hotch- I think you should come home... like now would be better."
"I'm on my way", this cheating bitch. She thinks she can do that to him, who the hell does she think she is. Hayley was actually doing it, I wanted him to be here so it wasn't her word against mine. I knew he'd believe me but this isn't something to take lightly. Hotch needed to see this for himself.
I headed for the kitchen sitting on the counter waiting for Hotch to come home, for Hayley to be done with her uh friend. I felt guilty and upset, more than I should be. I hadn't talked to Hotch about what I thought of Hayley; wanting to be respectful I kept it all to myself.
I heard the shower turn on and the two of them talking, mostly about how good it was. The thought made me sick to my stomach; I didn't want them to leave the room and find me in the house. That'd be a very awkward conversation that I want to avoid.
To my luck I saw Hotch pull into the driveway. He got out of his car and walked to the door, unlocking it and coming inside. He stared at me in the kitchen and went up to me. "What's going on?" My heart broke for him.
"Hotch I'm sorry for what I'm about to tell you. Hayley she..." I felt a lump in my throat; his face was littered with confusion. I saw in his eyes his heart bracing for the information that was about to fall from my lips.
I opened my mouth to speak but I heard footsteps coming down the hallway. Two to be exact, Hayley and her friend walked out past not noticing us. My eyes were glued to her as she went to the couch to say goodbye. Hotch turned around and saw them.
Still unaware of our presence Hayley turned to him. "Had a nice time, bye." And right there in front of us she placed a kiss on his lips pulling him in closer. Hotch's demeanor changed quickly; going from confused to broken and angry.
"Hayley", his voice was coated and angry but I could hear the hurt in his voice as he watched his wife kiss another man.
The sound of his voice scared her as she turned around and protected her little affair; standing in front of him. Hotch took steps forward towards them both. The man threw his hands up, "You're married?" He was scared; speaking to Hayley but looking directly at Hotch. "I- I should... go", the man said shakily.
Hotch's voice was dark, "That'd be best." The man practically ran out the house and jumped into his car; leaving quickly. I was a witness to everything, seeing what was unraveling.
Aaron forgot about who else was in the room, only focusing on the problem at hand. "Why?", Hotch raised his voice; demanding an answer on why his wife that he gave everything to would do this to him.
Hayley didn't answer, feeling little under his gaze. "Fine don't tell me, but you have 5 minutes to leave the house now." She stood up, gaining some confidence.
"You can't, I live here to remember", Hotch scoffed at her words and folded his arms against his chest. "The house is in my name. It's mine, maybe you can stay with your little affair until anything happens."
She walked down the hallway throwing her thing into a bag and left the house in a matter of seconds, I could see the small tears brimming in her eyes. She deserved whatever was coming to her. Hayley left and the front door slammed behind her, Aaron let out a shaky deep breath.
I hesitantly went to his side placing a hand on his back.
He tensed to my touch and relaxed, "What do you need me to do?" He faced me looking at me with cracks in his heart. I could tell obviously this was getting to him but he tried to hold on as long as he could without shattering.
Right out of high school, that's how long he was with Hayley. Getting married they both vowed to never hurt each other and she just broke that.
I could tell that he was internally falling apart. The anger dissipated and all that was left was pain. He wanted to hug me, to get some comfort. I read his mind pulling him towards me; his head resting on my head. I could feel the silent cry coming from Aaron.
He wrapped around my torso as he brought me closer. We stood there for a few minutes until Aaron calmed down, he pulled away when he got a text.
He took out his phone reading it; I stood in front of him, waiting for... something. "Sorry that was Jessica, Hayley took him over there so she could..."
I reached my hand up, it rested on his jaw and the base of his neck. He leaned into my touch, if the situation under better circumstances I'd take the chance. But I didn't wasn't to take advantage of his fragile state.
He closed his eyes and took steady deep breaths. I spoke as softly as I could, "Aaron if there's anything you need. I'm here."
Aaron opened his eyes and stared at me, "Thank you... and thank you for letting me know about that whole thing." He was referring to his bitch of a wife. "I should go", I waited for his reaction, any sign he wanted me to stay but he agreed and walked me to the door.
Before I left I swung my arms around him, mumbling into his neck. "Bye Aaron."
"Bye." Then I walked away to my car.

Yellowstone: Other Shows to Watch Next
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
You may have heard it by now but Yellowstone is a big deal. We’re not talking about the American national park (though that is also a big deal) but rather the Paramount Network series. This Kevin Costner-starring modern Western was a surprise hit from the beginning but reached new ratings heights in its most recent fourth season.
Yellowstone is so successful that the series, created by ascendant writer/director Taylor Sheridan, is set to be spun off several times. The first spinoff is prequel 1883, which is streaming on Paramount+. The next will be another modern day tale called 6666. Paramount knows a good thing when it has it and soon there will be more Yellowstone than you can shake a cattle prod at.
Before all those inevitable spinoffs, sequels, and simulacra arrive, however, Yellowstone fans might need another fix. And that’s where we come in! Here we’ve gathered several other shows that are not in the Yellowstone universe but still feel like Yellowstone in one way or another. Check out our choices below and let us know what else is on your post-Yellowstone viewing schedule.
Justified
Watch on: Hulu (US) and Amazon Prime Video (UK)
Justified and Yellowstone are similar in an aesthetic sense. Both are modern day Westerns in which adult characters wear anachronistic Stetson cowboy hats. What they do while wearing those Stetsons, however, is another thing entirely. Violence and action occasionally pop up on Yellowstone as the Duttons do whatever it takes to keep their ranch. On Justified though, that violence is a feature. Justified is a near-perfect six-season series that aired on FX in the mid-2000s. It’s adapted from the works of crime fiction novelist Elmore Leonard and stars Timothy Olyphant as U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens. After an unfortunate gun-drawing incident in Miami, Raylan is forced to return home to the pastoral Harlan County, Kentucky to keep tabs on petty criminals and the Dixie Mafia alike. Justified is quick, funny, and relentlessly entertaining. Like Yellowstone, it understands how much a rural setting can enrich a fairly archetypal story. – Alec Bojalad
Ozark
Watch on: Netflix
Travel a thousand miles and change in a south-easterly direction from the Yellowstone Ranch and you’ll come by the Snell Farm in Central Missouri. It’s the home of Jacob and Darlene, local figureheads with deep family roots who’ll stop at nothing to protect their land. The Snells are ruthless, terrifying and – when the occasion calls for it – murderous, but they’re far from Ozark’s biggest threat. That would be the Mexican drug cartel for which financial advisor Marty Byrde launders millions of dollars while posing as a legitimate businessman and family man. Ozark’s characters might be on the wrong side of the law, but their struggles and the Duttons’ are just the same: survival, staying afloat and protecting what’s yours. – Louisa Mellor
Succession
Watch on: HBO Max (US) and Sky TV (UK)
Beyond all the beautiful set dressing of the big Montana sky and cowboy attire, Yellowstone really comes down to family, business, and the often toxic inter-mingling of the two. In that respect, it’s not too dissimilar from one of the other major dramatic hits on television right now: HBO’s Succession. Just as the Dutton family struggles to maintain their hold on their land from forces within and without, so too does the Roy clan try to hang onto their massive media empire. Through three seasons, Succession has been a highly bingeable, soap operatic dramedy about three (or sometimes four) messed up kids who are just trying to get that elusive kiss from daddy. – AB
Longmire
Watch on: Peacock (US) and Apple TV (For purchase in the UK)
Longmire falls under the Justified category as it’s more of a crime drama than a family business drama. Still, it makes a wonderful complement for Yellowstone fans looking to stay in the modern Western genre. Based on a series of books from Craig Johnson, Longmire stars Robert Taylor as Walt Longmire, the sheriff of the fictional Absaroka County in Wyoming. Throughout four seasons on A&E (and two on Netflix), the series brings a throwback wild Western lawman perspective into the morally gray modern world. Like Yellowstone, Longmire also benefits from the services of an impressive supporting cast which includes Katee Sackhoff, Lou Diamond Phillips, and Zahn McClarnon. – AB
Peaky Blinders
Watch on: Netflix (US) and BBC iPlayer (UK)
The industrial heart of Birmingham, England may not be the plains of Montana, and the Peaky Blinders may be 1920s gangsters instead of modern-day ranchers, but the Shelbys have plenty in common with the Duttons. Both are family businesses struggling to keep a foothold on their territory, beset by threats from people trying to take what they have. Both families are led by patriarchs trying to navigate complicated rivalries, long-running feuds, and violence. John Dutton and Tommy Shelby each seek to control wayward relations with an eye on their crown and their own ideas for the future. And that’s before we come to the horses. Romany gypsies on their mother’s side, the Shelbys come from the land, and horses are the only religion Tommy has left after serving in the trenches of WWI. In Peaky Blinders’ very first scene, he rides one like a cowboy through the city slums, announcing the Western-like scale and mythology of the saga to come. – LM
Fargo Season 2
Watch on: Hulu (US) and Netflix (UK)
You can – and should – watch every season of Noah Hawley’s darkly comic crime anthology drama Fargo, but the one that really scratches the Yellowstone itch is season two. That’s the 1970s-set story of the Gerhardts, a North Dakota crime family whose future is thrown into doubt after their patriarch suffers a debilitating stroke. As two Gerhardt sons battle for supremacy, matriarch Floyd Gerhardt (the brilliant Jean Smart) attempts to fend off a Kansas City crime syndicate trying to steal their patch. Add to that Ted Danson, Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons, Succession’s Kieran Culkin and more, in a story of state troopers, grisly murders, UFOs, and good folk trying to self-actualize. – LM
Deadwood
Watch on: HBO Max (US) and Apple TV (For purchase in the UK)
In terms of TV Westerns, perhaps no other is as iconic or influential as HBO’s Deadwood. Premiering in 2004 and running for three seasons, this David Milch drama was set in the very real 1870s pioneer town of Deadwood, North Dakota and followed along as characters (both real and fictional) somehow built a society out of nothing other than American dust and a simple lie agreed upon. Deadwood has more in common with Yellowstone prequel 1883 than it does with the flagship series. In fact, we wouldn’t be surprised if the late 19th century Duttons eventually paid a visit to South Dakota. In terms of capturing the essence of the Wild West, Deadwood is every bit as important a prequel to Yellowstone as 1883 is. – AB
The Son
Watch on: Hulu (US) and Amazon Prime Video (For purchase in the UK)
Based on a novel by Philipp Meyer, AMC’s The Son is a surprisingly effective Western TV throwback. Pierce Brosnan stars as Eli McCullough, a Texas cattle baron who decides to try out his luck in the burgeoning early 20th century Texas oil industry. The show frequently flashes back to the mid-1800s, in which a young Eli was kidnapped by Comanches, and follows how he can’t quite connect with his son because of it. Though The Son is set in the past and covers the oil industry rather than ranching (something that modern day Yellowstone spinoff 6666 is set to do as well), its depiction of generational trauma in the West makes it a helpful companion piece to the Dutton family saga. – AB
Sons of Anarchy
Watch on: Hulu (US); Disney+ (UK)
Where better to get a fix of Yellowstone’s creator (and horse trader Travis Wheatley) than one of his pre-screenwriting roles? Taylor Sheridan plays Deputy Chief of Police David Hale in motorcycle gang drama Sons of Anarchy, a show that shares plenty of DNA with the Paramount hit. Loyalty, brotherhood, legacy, battles for supremacy… Jax Teller deals with it all as he struggles to navigate leadership of a California motorcycle gang following the death of its president, his father. They may ride Harleys and not horses, but these outlaws speak the language of ranchers. This slick, violent family drama filled with badass characters and heady shocks, it’s a better pick-me-up than a Beth Dutton smoothie.
Hatfields & McCoys
Watch on: Starz and Apple TV (for purchase in the UK)
Yellowstone’s arrival in 2018 came with no small excitement about movie star Kevin Costner’s first ever television role. Not so: Costner’s actual TV debut was in 2012 miniseries Hatfields & McCoys, which tells the now-legendary story of a bloody 19th century family feud between two West Virginia-Kentucky families. Costner plays Hatfield patriarch ‘Devil’ Anse opposite Bill Paxton as Randall McCoy in the violent, smoke-filled three-episode drama. Hatfields & McCoys can also claim another first as the History Channel’s scripted drama debut, meaning it blazed a trail for the hugely successful Vikings (another good steer for fans of battling dynasties on TV). This gritty saga about two warring Appalachian families attracted plenty of awards nominations and scored Costner a well-deserved Emmy for Best Actor, making it a must for fans of John Dutton. – LM
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
