A/N: One time a guy in my class gave me a love note and I felt like I was gonna faint cause my face was red. He did it in front of EVERYONE.

Anaxa confesses just to make a statement to others that you're off limits. He does have some feelings for you, but he would call them more possession rather than true love. Regardless of that fact he will make sure that no one other than him comes near you with romantic intentions. When he chose you as his target, he didn't just mean because of his work.

Luka will declare his love for you in his victory speech. He's up there in the ring, everyone looking at him but the only one he's looking at is you as he shouts his feelings for you at the top of his lungs. Suddenly their eyes turn to you, everyone is waiting to hear your response. It's not nearly as loud as his, it's very quiet, your face red with embarrassment, but yes, you do love him back.

Moze only confesses in public if it's important to keep you safe by him doing so. The reputation he has is great, so if people were under the impression that you're not just the person he's guarding but also the one he's dating it could help protect you. In addition to that it will make it easier for him to behave like a proper boyfriend should. He's had more than enough of hiding your relationship.

Mr. Reca declares his love with you on a set of his newest romance film. If anyone looks at the movie closely then they will be able to recognize the similarities between his romance with you and the romance plot of the movie. The movie is his confession to you, out there for everyone to see. And just like the main protagonist kisses his love interest after the confession, he kisses you.

Veritas Ratio tried to keep his feelings hidden for a while longer while he thinks of the perfect way to confess. Wouldn't you know it, he overheard you trying to beat him to it. There's no way he's gonna let you steal his thunder, by the time his declaration of love is over he will ensure that you are a blushing mess. And then he will swoop in and sweep you off your feet and into a kiss so you can't be mad at him.

the one headcanon i will die believing is that steve and danny have their actors' birthdays and that danny was born at like 4am est august 24 and steve was born at 10pm hst august 23 meaning they were born at the same time. this affects nothing. i just think theyre soulmates trapped in the worlds longest chevrolet commercial

Mindy's diary mentions the 'other' boys when talking about her childhood. She's a hsts though so I headcanon her as a tehm. I'll give props to DH for being a setting with magic that has a trans character use magic to change herself completely into the other sex. Emily's girlfriend is usually thought to be NB because she's never seen and neutral pronouns are used for her but that was because the devs didn't want to commit to making her a lesbian so left it 'open'.

Yuhuang headcanon

Huang Shaotian was the first person to buy his captain a pointer. Yes, technically Yu Wenzhou was using the pointer in the training room and that was fine and everything, but this one was for Yu Wenzhou. This one belonged to him! Also it was collapsible which meant that his captain could bring it to matches for their final tactical discussions!

When he offered it to his captain there was a very long moment of silence, long enough to let Huang Shaotian’s brain fire off with fifty different thoughts, all proclaiming that it was a terrible gift and that he’d completely screwed. He was about to apologise and say that it was okay if he didn’t like it, it was only one of his stupid ideas, if he wanted to return it then it was fine- before Yu Wenzhou’s lips stretched into a wide, delighted smile and he pulled Huang Shaotian into a tight hug.

Yu Wenzhou was incredibly touched. Sure, the one in the training room was fine. It worked fine. But this one was his. This was, in a way, reinforcing the fact that he was the captain, that he really was here. Also it was collapsible which was wonderful. It was a great gift.

How do the players get hyped for a match?

Blue Rain: “Blue rain, blue rain, ten years of tears and pain! Blue rain, blue rain, strong enough to end king’s reign! Draw your swords, cast your spells, let them hear their funeral bells! Shhh… ha!” (mime falling rain on the “shh” and then everyone does a pose related to their player class on the “ha”) 

Tyranny: “TYRANNY STEPS ONTO THE STAGE, LOOKS THE OPPONENT DEAD IN THE EYES, AND SAYS: GLORY, NOW AND FOREVER!” (At least once, Zhang Jiale says instead “give me your wallet” just audible enough for others to hear)

Tiny Herb: In a huddle with their arms around each other. Wang Jiexi speaks loudest, but it’s a calm affair overall. “We are Tiny Herb, quietly growing until we cast our enemies to the ground.” 

Samsara: Zhou Zekai says “One shot,” right hand in a finger gun pointing in the air. In answer, the team says “One kill,” all pointing finger guns straight ahead before raising them to the air. (Short and simple.)

Happy: Ye Xiu does a quick countdown and they just. Scream. That’s it. (It was Steamed Bun’s idea (of course), and it seemed dumb but no one had any better ideas so they just went with it – now, they wouldn’t think of doing anything else.)

OK, time for a Railway Series headcanon

Meme for attention, full headcanon after the break. TL;DR BR diesels and electrics would have been spoonfed anti-steam propaganda and would have very quickly gotten a dose of reality in the 1970s

OK, so, the TTTE/RWS fandom as a whole seems to be ambivelant at best about diesel and electric locomotives, and at worst sees anything that isn't powered by steam as the spawn of satan, and sometimes as someone who's a railfan in general beyond the fandom I feel like I'm talking to a brick wall anytime I wanna info dump about diesel locomotives. personally I find this a huge shame as the history of the modernisation plan and post-68 BR is fascinating in its own right.

the thing that grinds my gears is the perception of the fandom seems to be that all diesels and electrics are evil because reasons, and often completely ignors that the Rev. W. Awdry, god rest his soul, was unashamedly biased against modern traction, which leads to some missed opportunites in further fleshing out the universe whilst also turning modern traction into simply the new generation of engines. It's like this, as soon as 1955 rolled around BR managment was firmly set against steam, just about every bit of media they put out advertising their services used the shiny new diesels and electrics whilst referring to steam negatively, the locomotives own managers saw them as old technology that was dead in the water, and only being kept around until their replacements rolled up.

It's a logical assumption that the diesels would have been spoon fed this anti-steam propaganda before they had even turned a wheel, they would have been elitist and looked down on steam because from the moment of conciousness they would have been told that they were the future. Just think about the sort of superiority complex that would give an engine.

Cue the 1970s.

No sooner had steam been relegated to the history books than BR started the withdrawel of the less succesful pilot scheme locomotives (classes 15, 16, 17, 21, 23, 28), the Western Region diesel hydraulics (classes 14, 22, 35, 42, 52) and the 1500v-DC Woodhead electrics (classes 76 & 77).

just imagine the effect seeing locomotives which ten years earlier been labelled as part of the future being withdrawn en-masswould have on many still relatively young and naive diesel and electric locomotives. I can very easily see the remaining classes shift from an elitist "we are revolutionary" mindset to a jaded "we are just cogs in a machine who will be replaced the moment better comes along", which would be further reenforced not only with the introduction of the class 56 to replace 20s and 37s on the heaviest freight trains, but with the general slipping of standards as trains go for longer between cleaning, and some locomotive even being left out of repaints during the introduction of TOPS.

I see it as a period that has a lot of untapped story pottential for more mature subjects involving regret and greif

A now non-standard diesel being suddenly withdrawn and wondering what they did wrong after being told for so many years that they were the future of the railways

Think about how many surviving 1st gen diesels would back on the late-50s and 1960s with shame at their own arrogance and naivety, and even coming to regret their attitude towards the older steam locomotives and missing out on the chance to be properly shown the ropes as a result.

What about the shiny new class 56s, HSTs, and 58s having any sense of elitism being stomped out by the older first gen diesel locomotives, and being told the story of the beeching cuts and the cull of the 70s to drive some humility into them.

Maybe into the 90s and 2000s the surviving 1st gen diesels would come to view the mainline registered steam locomotives with respect and reverence.

I have a story idea which I may or may not write involving a diesel locomotives which, upon withdrawel and preservation, would by chance be sent to a railway that also had a steam engine that they worked alongside in the 60s. They would seek to make ammends for their attitude when younger, only to find out that the steam engine simple isn't willing to listen to what they would have to say, and the diesel locomotive coming to terms with the fact that an apology given does not mean an apology accepted, and sometimes you simply won't get the closure you were looking for.

I am thinking again abt hst and his swoksaar snowglobe and tiny come alive swoksaar breaking out of his globe and going on adventures. Packing up his tiny belongings and setting off across the great and dangerous expanse of carpet, the dark under the bed country, the hazardous climb up the shelfs.

Maybe he is adventuring to try and find a tiny Troubling Rain. He searches through hst snowglobe collection but there are so so so many of them! Loads of swoksaars and even one Yu Wenzhou one, but no troubling rain. He had to go out into the hallways and into Blue Rain. A great adventure.

@joezworld 's headcanons and stories about Pip and Emma breathing fire got me looking up info about the Class 43s/HSTs and I have a couple thoughts.

1: I found out the HSTs all got new engines put in some time around the early 2000s. The old ones, called Paxman Valentas, have a distinctive loud turbocharger whine at high power, which the replacement engines lack. The best I can find out with 5 minutes of googling is that it's due to a change in the turbocharger layout from one big turbo to several smaller ones. The re-engining predates Pip and Emma joining the N.W.R. in canon... but, what are the odds that at some point Crovan's Gate put old-style turbos on them?

2: The HSTs are now being phased out, and while there are plenty of them still in service, it sounds like the last of the ones from London ran in 2021 IRL... meaning Pip and Emma are now the last ones running there. Are they, like, weirded out by how they're suddenly getting so much attention on the mainland now? How are they taking the "we are no longer seeing any of our other siblings around" trauma? How is every other engine on Sodor, with their often pretty bad experiences of their class's withdrawal, taking the thought of them going through this? Are engines like Gordon being very protective of the "babies" of the NWR fleet (who are like 40+ years old and not really that much younger than Bear but whatever)?

3: What are the odds that the "final withdrawal" of HSTs from London happened while Pip and Emma were having an overhaul which gave them larger turbochargers again, and a couple months later the Dragon Sisters just rolled into St. Pancras screaming like a jetliner?

4: ...why does the Wild Nor'Wester go all the way to London anyway? Like I assume it started out that way because the LMS just ran it all the way from Barrow, and the same thing in the British Rail era, but post-privatization, why did the NWR want to go with either "switch engines in Barrow and go hundreds of miles to London" or "run a single train over several times longer distance than the actual NWR main line" instead of the Wild Nor'Wester terminating in Lancaster where people could transfer to the West Coast Main Line? (which if I look up train tickets from London to Barrow-in-Furness IRL is how it's done).

I mean, it's what, like 40-50 miles from Barrow to Lancaster by rail? Could a steam engine get there and back without a water stop if they got permission to run one in revenue service?

Did... did Hatt just keep a once-per-day Tidmouth-to-London direct express service as an excuse to preserve Pip and Emma because they actually get along with his engines? Is the reason there wasn't a big deal made about Gordon's "retirement" in the books because Sodor's express service is now a mix of the Wild Nor'Wester running directly once a day (London to Barrow takes like 4 hours according to Google Maps so I'm assuming the extra 80 miles of NWR main line increases that to 5-6 hours, so probably one round trip per day) and one or more express trains from Tidmouth to either Barrow or Lancaster? (guessing 2-3 hours one way so an engine could theoretically do two round trips without swapping crews, or two engines could get one daily express trip and do other stuff the rest of the day. That fits Gordon doing a stop-at-every-station run for his last train of the day if he does an early express and someone like Henry or Bear gets the late one)

Sodor Headcanon

This is what happens when an HST is cold started.

As one might expect, most Class 43s dislike this experience - as they are normal engines that dislike being on fire, even for but a moment. 

Naturally, Pip and Emma love this - it’s about as close as they can get to being real life fire-breathing dragons. 

They try to have this happen as often as possible, but are rather strongly told off by the NWR maintenance staff, who don’t want to replace melted exhaust fans on a weekly basis. 

Ciritcally, when they ask how can we do this without pissing you off? , the rather frustrated works manager says that he’ll be fine with it if they stop melting things. 

So Emma figures out how to make the fire come out of her mouth. 

They are shocked when the works staff are still mad at them after this. 

The works staff are so mad, that the HST twins neglect to tell them that they figured out how to do it on command, and instead keep that factoid to themselves. 

Naturally, nonsense follows:

Henry thinks he’s hallucinating when Pip shoots a fifteen foot long burst of fire out of her mouth 

Emma wins an argument against James by growling at him while her mouth fills with fire. 

Pip somehow enters a staff barbeque cookout and gets second place

(The answer to ‘how?!’ is “really long tongs held in her mouth”)

When an uppity set of ‘mainland’ HSTs insult the NWR and its steam fleet, the Sisters frighten some respect into them using “loud sounds and pyrotechnics”

Thomas Headcanons: Pip & Emma

The High-Speed Train formation containing Pip and Emma was built in 1978, as one of the ten-car sets (two power cars, eight coaches) intended for services on the East Coast Main Line. Initially, they were allocated to the famous Flying Scotsman service from King’s Cross to Edinburgh, where they and their fellow HSTs displaced the 55s already handling this service.

In May 1983, however, Pip and Emma’s unit was reallocated to the Midland Main Line, where they now worked expresses from St Pancras to Glasgow, via Leeds and Carlisle. Their lives on this line were similarly uneventful, with the monotony only occasionally being broken up by some of the little incidents which befell BR trains during this time.

Their first visit to Sodor in 1986 happened quite by accident. The exact details are unclear, but it is known that the unit was stopped at Carnforth following the failure of Pip’s cooling system. While another engine took their passengers on, the power cars were instructed to make their way to Barrow-In-Furness, where arrangements had been made for Pip to be serviced at the NWR’s diesel depot there. This meant they were on-hand the next day, to take over Gordon’s return service to Tidmouth while he was busy taking over an enthusiasts’ special to Carlisle.

Pip and Emma’s visit proved to be a stroke of luck for Sir Topham Hatt, as they‘d unintentionally given him the solution to a problem that he’d only recently realized he was having. Trains running between Sodor and the Mainland had always had to change engines at Barrow-In-Furness, and this especially caused headaches for the express service running from Tidmouth to St Pancras. An HST, however, could potentially save time by removing the need for such a changeover - it could even make the whole journey without stopping. Following Pip and Emma’s departure, Sir Topham Hatt started making plans and inquiries about potentially borrowing them again...

Pip and Emma next visited Sodor in 1995, when they hauled the Royal Train to Tidmouth as part of that year’s Golden Jubilee celebrations. This was actually part of Sir Topham Hatt’s plan, as he wanted to test how well they could handle the service from Tidmouth to London.

In fact, the intention was to make arrangements with BR for Pip and Emma to begin running the Barrow-London portion of the service, to further test their capabilities before they took over the Sodor portion as well. Unfortunately, these plans were scuppered when BR was privatised later that year, and the NWR’s relationship with its neighbouring train operating companies was rather tarnished by the political and economic madness that followed.

It would not be until 2005 that relations had simmered down enough for Sir Topham Hatt to approach his neighbouring TOCs with the proposals he’d drawn up for Pip and Emma. By now, his interest had shifted towards outright purchasing them, but this was not possible at the time - mainly because nobody knew which TOC actually owned them. A compromise was eventually reached, in which the unit would be hired out to the NWR, to work the Barrow-London portion of the Wild Nor’ Wester as initially intended.

Pip and Emma were trialled on this service in late-2005, and full operations began in time for the start of the 2006 operating season. The operation ran as follows: the HST would leave St Pancras early in the morning, and reach Barrow-In-Furness just after lunchtime. Once there, they would connect with Gordon’s service from Tidmouth, and the two trains would swap passengers. Then Gordon would head back to Tidmouth, while Pip and Emma would head back to St Pancras.

Surprisingly, this convoluted operation did save some time. Track improvements on the Mainland network meant that Pip and Emma were able to run fast enough to make up for the delays caused by swapping passengers at Barrow, thereby enabling them to still return to St Pancras on time.

Sir Topham Hatt felt, however, that still further time could be saved, and he continued his efforts to make a full purchase of Pip and Emma. Sadly, this had still not been achieved by the time of his retirement in 2009, and his son Richard Hatt inherited this mission when he became Sir Topham Hatt IV that same year (Richard also took over the running of the NWR, of course, and remains so as of 2021).

By this time, all the various TOCs had begun cascading their HSTs to lesser duties, if not withdrawing them from service altogether. The new Sir Topham Hatt finally managed to track down Pip and Emma’s current owners, and in late 2010 a full purchase of the unit was finally agreed upon.

Pip and Emma finally entered official NWR service in early 2011, and for the first time the Tidmouth-London express could actually be run as a non-stop service. As before, they departed St Pancras early in the morning, but now they reached Tidmouth in the early afternoon. Following a quick rest and refuel, they then headed back to St Pancras, arriving there in the late evening. They would then stay there overnight, before starting over again the next morning.

As promised, this new service did indeed shave still further minutes off the passenger timetable, and it also allowed a full round trip to be achieved in a single day for the first time ever.

For administrative purposes, Pip and Emma are listed on the NWR’s books as being shedded at Barrow-In-Furness, although in practice they are almost never seen there. Instead, they stay mostly at Willesden TMD, near to St Pancras, but they may sometimes be found at Tidmouth if circumstances require them to stay on Sodor overnight.

Yu Wenzhou ensures he always has snacks on him, ranging from salty to sweet to sour because Huang Shaotian’s cravings depend on his mood and the snacks are also a range of different textures, again because changing moods. As Yu Wenzhou knows that Huang Shaotian is often overly enthusiastic and may flat out injure himself, Yu Wenzhou keeps a medical kit on him at all times. This isn’t specifically for Huang Shaotian alone though, other members occasionally have to use it. And yes, this medical kit 100% has Glory themed band aids for little injuries. Members of Blue Rain often give their favourite patterned band aids for Yu Wenzhou to carry for them. 

Yu Wenzhou always has a water bottle on him for Huang Shaotian. His vice captain talks so much, he needs to make sure he drinks to avoid a sore throat. Due to this, Yu Wenzhou also carries throat lozenges for when Huang Shaotian inevitably strains his voice.

Yu Wenzhou also makes sure he always has a spare hat/scarf in his bag as Huang Shaotian burns easily and also freezes to death super quickly. Huang Shaotian also empathically argues that the scarf is an excellent disguise for escaping fans. Yu Wenzhou would say he has a point- if Huang Shaotian’s scarves were not always bright, neon colours that screamed “LOOK AT ME” so there’s that.

Huang Shaotian always has an inhaler on hand, yes his captain has his own inhaler and technically Huang Shaotian doesn’t have to carry one himself but it makes him feel better to have, reassures him that he can support and keep his captain safe in and out of Glory.

Huang Shaotian carries healthy snacks in his bag, nuts, dried fruit and other healthy bits and bobs, not for himself because he really prefers the snacks Yu Wenzhou carries but he keeps them on hand for his captain. Yu Wenzhou carries his snacks? Well then Huang Shaotian will carry Yu Wenzhou’s. Side note: Huang Shaotian once packed a banana but after about 50 million jokes about how Yu Wenzhou is “having Huang Shaotian’s banana in public” he now avoids bringing them. Yu Wenzhou is a tad confused because he likes bananas.

Huang Shaotian carries coffee for Yu Wenzhou, which he would like to point out is bitter and gross but his captain likes it so it’s fine he guesses. He does make sure he has a constant supply of chewing gum however because stale coffee breath is simply unpleasant. Also pain relief because Yu Wenzhou often gets headaches because he pushes himself too hard.

As a second note: Yu Wenzhou and Huang Shaotian have little charms of Swoksaar and Troubling Rain on their backpacks because Huang Shaotian saw them and immediately was so excited about that he sprinted back to Blue Rain, jumping around happily. He was very surprised when Yu Wenzhou picked the Troubling Rain charm but when his captain’s cheeks pinkened and he admitted to wanted Huang Shaotian beside him....Well, he didn’t cry but it might have been close. Hence the precious addition to these adorable e-sports backpacks.
