This is Lake’s team and we found interesting specimens underneath the ice of a cave. They look… older than the specimens from the Cambrian period. They’re six specimens. We’re dragging them to our camp but the dogs hate them.

We got them to our camp and dissected one of the partly destroyed specimens. Lake refers to them as the elder things from the Necronomicon.

note about the uses of “lovecraftian horror” and “cosmic/eldritch horror”: a lot of fans define the three genres (lovecraftian, cosmic, and eldritch) as having very slight differences. cosmic is big, eldritch is old, and lovecraftian is by lovecraft/inspired by lovecraft (+) but tbh all genres are incredibly subjective and a lot of people just use all three interchangeably.
