‘Porthdinllaen, North Wales’ This painting was a pleasure to paint. It’s from one of my favourite places and if you haven’t been to that part of the world, you really should give it a go. North Wales is gorgeous and Porthdinllaen beach holds lots of great family memories for me. There’s even a pub on the beach, #tycoch, so you can get a pint of Guinness, drink it, feet in the sand, looking at the bay. I’d love to be there now. This painting is set up in the Rivals, a set of hills overlooking the area. It measures 28 x 35 cm, acrylic paint on canvas board. DM me if you are interested in any of my work. Won’t You Take Me With You is out today. . Listen and order the limited edition burgundy colored vinyl from the link in my bio. . You would think making a record during a pandemic would be stressful. Somehow the six weeks I spent writing, recording, and finishing Won’t You Take Me With You ended up being some of the best times of my life. For the first time I truly let go and gave everything I had. Everyone who worked on this record gave me their best, and I am so incredibly proud of all of them and what we’ve made together. . There is a moment in The Wizard Of Oz where Dorothy has just met the Scarecrow. They barely know one another, but they’ve just shared a song and dance together. She tells him where she’s going and he asks “Won’t you take me with you?”. That phrase always stayed with me. It’s a question that seems to stop time and hold hands with the future and the past. In a way that is how the better part of this last year has felt. Everything moving fast in so many terrible directions while other parts of life remain frozen. The desire to go somewhere, anywhere while held partially in suspense. . I really hope to see you all again soon and to play these new songs for you.
