The parchment, quills and ink were simply banished with a quick wave of his hand, putting James immediately into a better mood. He smiled, putting his shade back down covering his eyes, leaning back into his deck chair. “Thank you again for inviting me - I really needed this.”

Clothes were put through wrong holes as James tried to fill his limbs with some decency. If only a pit big enough could swallow him whole right now, seeing Oliver’s disappointment, not to mention Lo completely breaking down, James felt like he was going to be sick.

There was a long pause of silence after Oliver left, the secretary stood behind the man uncertain if he should mutter a word. “I’m s-sorry . . .” croaked James clearing his throat, “Lo -- I’m so sorry.”

Lo couldn’t help but laugh as well. Even in their drunken stupor, he could still recognize James’ innocence and naïveté. It was cute and endearing, something that distracted Lo from the reality of his life. For a moment, he forgot all about the possibility of Oliver being dead by the hand of Grindelwald and his fanatics. Right now, all he could think about was how soft James’ lips looked. The sick secretary thanked Hana for the water as he sat up and drank deeply, Jordan on the other hand scoffed at Matteo and pushed past the vampire to properly inspect his cousin. “Are you alright James?” He asked, concern hitting his tone, Jordan acted like the other two werent in the room as he approached the bed, “I’m okay - just got the flu I think?” James offered a weak smile hidden behind the rim of the glass of water. “You two pests can leave,” announced Jordan, addressing Hana and Matteo, “I’m here now to take care of my cousin!” The sick secretary sighed, placing his glass on the nearby night stand, “Jordan I --” however he gave James one of those looks like an older brother would. “I won’t ask again!”

Storming past her, having visited James’ apartment numerous times, Jordan knew exactly the way towards his cousin’s room. Once more he pocketed his wand and kept his head held high, unintresed in the monsters that James homed. Before barging into the bedroom and scaring his eyes, Jordan knocked on the door several times, “couisn! It’s Me -- I wish to see you!” The secretary on the other hand, rolled in his bed disgruntled, “j-just a second!” Croaked James, nudging his vampire companion to answer the door in some sort of clothing.

do u guys have any idea the amount of self control i have 2 exercise in this fandom. every time i see a self-proclaimed "gen z marauders fan" talking about how they enjoy fandom in a totally cool + non-cringey way (reads hp fanfiction, gets hp tattoos, makes tiktoks lipsyncing to popular audios pretending to be hp characters) as opposed to millenials who enjoy fandom in such a cringey way (reads different hp fanfiction, gets different hp tattoos, makes tiktoks lipsyncing to different audios + pretending to be different hp characters) it is like i am a lion watching a wounded gazelle limp past. i am a blood-sniffing shark and these people are bleeding baby seals. personally i believe that everyone has a right to enjoy fandom in whatever cringey way they wish (cringe is inevitable if u are reading hp fanfic in 2023 i fear). however if u are going 2 proclaim that ur way is Superior and Cooler than The Old People......god. u are a mouse w a broken leg and i am a starving owl.

James smiled kindly and replaced the camera back around his neck, now his full attention was towards the pretty stanger who luckily caught his eye. “Yeah - I’m sorta moving here for work,” James explained, “my cousin got me this job and family said I should follow up with it.” He rolled his eyes laughing, clearly supposed to be annoyed but not bothered by it. “Are you a New Yorker?” James asked in return, he wasn’t too sure about American muggles yet - he wondered if they were the same as British ones.

She looked up, finally getting a better look at the stranger. He was certainly attractive, Yuka could tell from a distance before, but now she got to see all the little details in his face. The big brown eyes and curls underneath his cap, it took effort not to smile upon seeing it. Instead, she carefully took the camera and snapped a few photos of him, with the Statue of Liberty clearly in the background. Yuka took a moment to look at the photo of him, before handing the camera back.

Here's the thing: before being introduced to the Batfam and Bruce's adoptions problem, for me the Ultimate Children Adopter was Molly Weasley.

Never leave an unattended child in her area, otherwise they'll be adopted and receive a knitted sweater for Christmas.

Despite her lacks (like trusting Dumbledore's opinion too much and allowing Harry to get back to the Dursley every summer, favoring Ginny over her other children, etc.), her motherhenning is top tier and her hospitality is the best...
