"Hm." While Gannicus didn't exactly look forward to seeing Batiatus again, there was nothing the lanista could do to thim now. He walked along with Rico and noticed the large amount of gladiators having come along with the guests. He recognised some but not all, and didn't think anyone would be able to beat him.

"I wouldn't put it past him." Gannicus answered with a small nod. He would probably not put Gannicus in mortal danger, wanting the man back if he could, but seducing Rico into gaining some respect from him he certainly would try.

Instead of staying behind Rico, he stood next to the other man. One could think he was a guard, a lover... he honestly did not care. With a small smile he greeted Batiatus and Crassus with a nod.

The gladiator had a point. Seeing him at the man's side would send a message. However, what message they would take was another thing. The guests were present, though it was more than he imagined. Each had come early and came with gladiators some with the mark and others without.

"I wonder if Battiatus had a hand in this morning's little annoyance."

The men that they brought could be seen as ways to seduce Rico into giving a house prominence, yet the presence of the un-blooded stood out. They had not been given the mark of brotherhood, yet they were at their master's side. He had to admit if he was right about them offering him a bribe of a slave or gladiator they were bold.
