Aurelia Rookwood is the kind of witch who has always known her worth, an attribute that has gained her many admirers, but twice as many enemies. The only daughter of Sarika and Francis Rookwood, Aurelia was born of two affluent families who adored her dearly. Her mother Sarika had worked for the Indian Council of Magic as an Unspeakable and had been stationed in London where she had met her father, a high society wizard who was looking to be intellectually challenged. The two were silent but devoted followers of Gellert Grindelwald, sucked into his rhetoric that they pushed onto Aurelia and her older brother AUGUSTUS ROOKWOOD [sibling]. Living in solitude by the seaside in Cornwall, their family home perched on top of a cliff, Aurelia and her brother lived a charmed life of reading by the coast, outside of their very rigid lessons. Half-bloods due to their trace of veela blood on their father’s side, Aurelia and her brother learned from a very early age that life would be very diffiuclt and despite their wealth and beauty, they would not be afforded the same respect as others who associated with them. 

Their parents instead tried to ready their minds, insisting they learn all there was to know about British and Indian Wizarding politics, who was important throughout history and how to control the magic that raged away inside of them. As a result Aurelia considered herself to be more disciplined than the average child. Despite the bullying from fellow children and the snide comments from parents, Aurelia was proud of her heritage. She had something that wizards for generations had attempted to bottle and sell- she and her brother were so beautiful, that despite the matter of their blood, Aurelia knew they would never truly struggle and that was what she told herself. Her resillance was rewarded by her parents, proud of the young woman she was becoming, and aged eleven she was packed away to Hogwarts with three trunks full of made to measure dresses by Madam Malkin herself she had earned due to her intelligence, her wit and cunning. Sorted into Ravenclaw, Aurelia had assumed she’d be a better fit for Slytherin, but as the hat debated back and forth before finally placing her with her fellow eagles, she knew it had made the right choice. 

Aurelia disliked people who were stuck up, though she knew everyone with power in their society was incredibly invested in themselves. She needed to be in a house where she could feel at her most dominant and strong arming a bunch of nerds into doing what she wanted was pleasing to her. Unpacking her trunk, Aurelia proudly collected up all of ELIZABETH BRAITHWATE’s [rival] clothing and dumped them on the floor to allow Aurelia more space for her outfits. Extension charms in wardrobes did tend to create a crease. Then she threw DANAE ALTON [rival] off her own bed becuse it had better light and ended the evening telling KERVENS BORGIN [best friend/potential romantic liaison] to move out of her chair at dinner, sparking a friendship between the pair. Aurelia had always gotten along better with boys, possibly because of her beauty, maybe because of her manners, but Kervens really tried to fight her corner when it came to the group of friends they’d established. She knew ROSALIE FLINT [acquaintance], ADRASTEIA GREENGRASS [acquaintance], ANDROMEDA BLACK [acquaintance] and LUCINDA TALKALOT [acquaintance] merely tolorated her. Never asking her to come and get ready before parties, or out for a cigarette during the evening. 

At one point, it did bother her- after all she was only human. But her mother educated her on the ways of teenage girls much later in life, and by the time she had turned eighteen- Aurelia was truly ready to own the thing that made her different. What Aurelia had always wanted in life was power, but enjoyed sitting on the sidelines, taking joy in puppeteering those to do her bidding for her. Becoming friends weith Kervens, RABASTAN LESTRANGE [close friend/potential romantic laison], XERXES ZABINI [close friend], and dating CAIUS BURKE [close friend/former partner/potential romantic liaison/] really helped with these plans. Despite being a half-blood girl, not from a sacred Twenty-Eight family, Aurelia had established herself as the most popular girl in her year. Famous for taking your boyfriend and making you cry in the toilets, everyoned feared her or wanted her and that was how she liked it. Upon leaving school, Aurelia flirted her way into a job at WItch Weekly- though it really didn’t take a lot. One look at her face and she was booked for modelling, her face appearing on the covers of the magazine, walking runways for Madam Malkin and Twillfit and Tattlings.

The occasional trip over to Paris to model and speak with Enchantée for a contributing editor job, became her leverage WItch Weekly. Forcing them into giving her the same deal. As a contributing editor she decided who was on the cover, who was hot and who was not and whose wedding got photographed, it was power like no other and even those who hated her when she was on the way up, how had to kiss the ring or risk being on the way down. It also meant she made friends in incredibly high places including ANDRESSA PARKINSON [friend] and her boyfriend LUCIUS MALFOY [friend]. It was after seeing them go public to distract from a scandal that Aurelia saw the benefit in being in a power couple and what that could mean. Her brother had connections due to his work, but no heavy hitters. She needed a man on the inside and she’d already spotted him. Aurelia had noticed AJAX DAVIS [partner] staring at her for seven years at school, but now he had a purpose. His family owned Moribund’s, his sister ROSALINE DAVIS [acquaintance] was dating the minister’s son HARRISON BAGNOLD [acquaintance] and he had a very high paying job in The British and Irish Quidditch Leauge, which everyone knew had more to do with politics that anyone else cared to admit. 

Dating a Twenty-Eight in this climate was almost out of the question but in current society Ajax was the next best thing and she enjoyed luring him away from his pitiful girlfriend Adrasteia. Ajax would do anything to please her, even take a blind eye to her constant romantic laisons and flirtation which are on the up since she’s found her latest calling. Whispers of THE DARK LORD [leader] had long echoed the streets, but when her brother became a follower he confirmed to Aurelia they were real and their time was truly here. Confident she may now no longer have to ride on the coatails of Ajax to be respected, Aurelia will do anything to ensure that in The Dark Lord’s new society she will have a seat at the table. The taste for power is sweet and as she is relatively new to the movement, it has meant sucking up to her former friends from school who now have fairly influential positions. Back to her old flirtatious ways, Aurelia spends long nights at secret meetings, drinking with her school friends and setting her eyes on who could possibly advance her career, namely Rabastan, who, if judging by her eye seems to have the ear of their new leader.

i swear ever since i came out as trans i care 100% less about shit like genderbends and harry potter characters in the rpc. like i'm not sayin all trans ppl feel this way but i just...do not care. i might not engage w/ it except under very specific circumstances now (ex: remus and wynonna being such an otp i cannot quite give up wy's harry potter verse), but i'm otherwise mostly like...eh. whatever.

hello rpc! it’s been a minute. i’m missing writing and considering putting a marauders era group together, but i wanted to check the temperature first. harry potter has been heavily tainted by hateful rhetoric spewed by its author. but should someone make a game, committed to including a gender and ethnically diverse cast, would that be something people are interested in? for me, the marauders era has always largely existed apart from the author, because it thrives mostly on fanon, so i’d really like to reclaim it as an accepting, diverse verse.

The year is 1986, London has faced no greater threat than it does today. People have begun to go missing. Posters line the cobbled walls, as weeping families plead for information over the radio and in the papers. Bodies slowly began to be found, first one, then two, until it became too difficult to count them all. Among the unfortunate individuals that remain unnamed, the death of the Minister’s son BOOKER BAGNOLD was the catalyst for the mass hysteria. It creeped into Wizarding London like a silent fog until the country was overcast in a thick smog of conspiracy and fear that tightly grips its people.

What once was a force that began as a whisper, The Dark Lord is now acknowledged by the Minister herself. His DEATH EATERS followers are his physical presence, anonymous individuals hidden behind silver masks that threaten the very fabric of society. The institution claiming to protect the wizarding community, the Ministry of Magic, is losing respect, reputation and control. With the government in disarray, its people are vulnerable and open for the taking. THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX has taken it upon themselves to stand ready to combat the darkness, searching for sorcerers to stand up and burn with them.

As the youngest of three, Miray had always had her brothers with her. FURKAN POLAT [sibling] and GORKEM POLAT [sibling] have always been her protectors, her guides, her mischevious partners in crime. They never let her fall behind and were always there to make sure she had some fun, you could write about their relationship. Was there a time when she felt like they might give up on her as their parents did or had she always known they'd have her back? Is the dynamic still the same as when they were kids or have things changed as they've grown up?

It took some time and exploring but once Miray entered the doors of Hogwarts, she blossomed into very outgoing student. Willing to welcome any student as her friend, making sure everyone was taken care of, being that shoulder to cry on. But despite always lending a hand to anyone in need, DORIS PURKISS [best friend] and GRACE HAYWOOD [best friend] were her people. Having been used to having brothers all her life, you can write about how Miray feels about her friends. Was their any moments of their friendship that Miray looks fondly on, was there a moment when she was unsure of putting herself out there and making friends?

It may have hurt her when it happened, but Miray has taken her disownment in stride. She does not regret falling in love with ARTHUR WEASLEY [husband], she does not regret falling pregnant with his child, and she certainly does not regret marrying the love of her life. Even if her parents are refusing to accept that she is happy and satisifed with Arthur. You can write about Miray's feelings shifting from knowing her place as a Polat in society to her new life as a Weasley. How does Miray really feel knowing her parents want nothing to do with her? Is she happy to be free of the Sacred Twenty Eight values or is it bittersweet, knowing there's a missing piece?

#FA1LMAGE: a dnd / bg3 / critical role rp blog for VI'HAAN TALDERESH, the disowned son of renowned sorcerer family Talderesh

Vi'haan Talderesh (he/him, trans man, in his late 30s) is a half-elven wizard who comes from a renowned and well-respected family of sorcerers. At least, on his elven side. His human mother was a kind fighter who did not have a single magical bone in her body. His mother also died shortly after childbirth, a fact his father has not forgiven him for, even though Vi'haan did not ask to be born. Despite his own harsh feelings toward his youngest child, Vi'haan's father made sure he was well-fed and well schooled -- especially in the sorcery arts. Sadly no amount of tutoring could make up for the fact he did not inherit his family's sorcerer abilities.

Desperate to feel a sense of family amongst his two older half-siblings (same father, different mother) and to gain his father's approva, he secretly studied the art of wizardry, hoping that as long as he only cast spells both wizards and sorcerers are capable of casting that he could trick his family into thinking he was a sorcerer as well. Sadly his farce did not last long, with an ambitious maid discovering his spellbook in his bedroom and bringing it before his father, hoping for a promotion. She gained a promotion that day and he gained his father's ire.

Between his lack of magical ability and his lying, his father was beyond furious. His father gave him an ultimatum, accept his fate of not being a sorcerer and give up magic entirely (his family views both warlocks and wizards as beneath them ) and burn his spellbook before his father as a sign of goodwill, or get disowned. His spellbook was something he poured his heart and soul into, and the texts he read to study wizardry were written by wizards/mages who understood him. Much to the shock of his father and himself, he refused. Disowned and stripped of both last name and from the family tree, he no longer has ties to the family estate. All he has is a love for magic and a yearning to find new family/friends who care for him because of who he is, not who they want him to be.

 I'm autistic and have social anxiety. Because of this I struggle with ooc chatter and tend to prefer rp memes to get threads going (versus plotting). I'm open to plotting but need some prompts/questions to get going. Reaching out to me with question ssuch as "what sort of dynamic do you think they'd have?" or "what are some rp tropes you enjoy?" will get you a better response from me than a vague message such as "let's plot"

I have a full time job and live on a farm. I also frequently babysit my niece and nephew (both of them are under 5 years old). Because of this, my reply lengths and speed will vary. Do not follow me if this is a problem for you. Also do not follow me if you look down on people who don't always have the energy to write novella style replies and/or people who can't reply multiple times a day.

Favoritism: I do not have it. I tend to reply to short threads during the work week when I have less energy and long threads on the weekend when I have more energy. I also have friends on here who I write with a lot/have hashed out character dynamics through DMs so I write with them often. Not everything is about you and just because I take a little while to reply to you DOESN'T mean I hate to you. If you easily get jealous of other writers DNI.

i have one (1) harry potter au for one (1) character (wynonna) bc i still love a certain ship built primarily within that universe. it is a closed verse to anyone but @faultyconscience (though i might make exceptions for other wearp characters who are interested in writing with me there, particularly waverly). we are both vehemently anti-jkr and i am very trans so like. if you see me playing around in this verse, consider fucking off and/or blocking me instead of giving me grief over it.

Throwing this out there again. 21+ female roleplayer and writer looking for 21+ muns to write Dina/Ellie from TLoU Part II. I'm not too fussed about playing one character over the other, but I will not write with OCs - it's these two or nothing. I'm flexible when it comes to 'verses, though; I have a strong preference for canon and "AU Lite" plots within the LoU universe because both characters are very much molded by the world they live in, but I could be persuaded to go outside of that with a good premise. But no matter what 'verse, please come with ideas! There's a lot we haven't seen in canon, and if we go the AU route, the world is our oyster. I'm less concerned about plot/context/'verse and more interested in delving into the minds of these characters with other people who want to do the same.

I'd consider myself "advanced literate" and I've been in the rpc for well over a decade. This means I tend to do more than one paragraph per reply, but that being said I won't get upset as long as your replies have substance. Quality over quantity and all that. However, I will require a sample of your writing for chemistry purposes (it does not have to be TLoU-related - links to old rp accounts, docs, etc. are totally fine, and I'll probably stalk your blog anyway). I'm selective. I prefer Discord over Tumblr, but I could be persuaded to stay on this hellsite as well. In regards to activity, I totally understand that rp is a hobby. Life happens and that's fine. However, a couple of weeks between replies is about all I'll allow. This is for two reasons: one, it's really hard to maintain the muse for a particular thread or 'verse with that much dead space; and two, if we're on Discord, I hate a cluttered sidebar - unused servers will be deleted if they're left idle for too long. And none of this means that you can't tell me you're going on a long vacation or that you're taking a hiatus. Communication is key and I would love to be informed. But sometimes that's not possible and that's okay; if things fizzle out and I delete our server, it's not personal. It's just something I'm implementing for my own mental health. Also note that while I imagine we will get into NSFW stuff (have you seen these two?), it isn't my focus. I'm happy to accommodate/honor people's triggers and I love love LOVE ooc chatting about characters, headcanons, etc. - but I'd like IC threads to have momentum in addition to that!
