HALF(have a little fun) pt. i
Tumblr media
→ Sayomi Zoldyck is the eldest child and twin sister to Illumi, of the renowned Zoldyck family of assassins. At the age of ten she’s taken away to Meteor City by her mother, Kikyo Zoldyck, unbeknownst to the rest of the family, as well as newborn Killua, and left to fend for herself. This is the story of the long-lost Zoldyck and those she becomes acquainted with, all while she just wants to have a little fun.

☾ i.
Name: Sayomi Zoldyck 小夜美 | "小" is small | "夜" is night | "美" is beauty |
Hair color: White
Eye Color: Purple
Nen: Manipulator (same exact abilities as Illumi)
Abilities: Same as Illumi Zoldyck - Body Alteration, Hypnotic Spell, Corpse Control, Needle People, Katana
☾ part i: a backstory(1/2)
Deep within the Zoldyck estate, Kikyo and Silva Zoldyck celebrated the birth of their first children with rare smiles decorating their faces. They were twins, a boy and a girl, but they could not have been more opposite of each other.
The boy whom they chose to name Illumi, had mysterious, onyx black eyes and had not cried nor struggled upon being brought into the world. This led the Zoldycks to worry whether the baby was healthy or not, but were reassured by the midwives and doctor that he was indeed completely healthy, despite the baby’s odd lack of expression.
The girl, who was about 20 minutes older than the boy was a complete contrasting image of the former child. They named her Sayomi. Sayomi had striking violet eyes and brilliant white hair, mirroring both those of her father. Unlike her twin, she had done the whole newborn baby shenanigan with a piercing cry and thrashed about in Kikyo’s arms upon being held.
Thus, began the new generation of the Zoldyck family.
☾ i.
The twins began training at the age of 4, and it was harsh, brutal training fit for the next line of Zoldyck assassins.
Though deep down Silva and Kikyo loved their children, on the surface, they viewed their children as the ones who would eventually replace them and carry on the Zoldyck legacy. And in order to do so, the training they put their children through was all too necessary for the sake of their futures.
Yet, however painful or exhausting the training would be, Illumi and Sayomi found ways to make it bearable with each other’s company.
It could be their little races to the training yard each morning, stepping on each other’s feet under the dinner table, or even pranking some of the butlers.
In a way, they were able to balance each other out, much like two halves of a whole. With Illumi’s lack of expression and Sayomi’s affectionate nature, it was a mystery to those around them of how they were able to grow to be inseparable.
As the twins’ training progressed and the years went by, it was time to awaken their Nen abilities.
Silva and Zeno had requested that the now 7 year-olds meet in the courtyard today instead of their regular training, where they would now be categorized into the different types of Nen.
Illumi and Sayomi sat side by side on a bench in the courtyard in wait of Silva and Zeno, playing with their needles to pass the time.
The black-haired twin flicked his wrist faster than the eye could see, sending the needle between his fingers to go flying and hit a bird mid-flight right in the butt.
Watching the poor bird plummet to the ground in front of them, the twin girl’s violet eyes brightened and crinkled at the edges as she laughed out loud at her brother’s ‘choice’ of aim, falling to the ground while clutching her sides.
A slight shade of pink dusted Illumi’s cheeks as his sister teased his needle-throw, before huffing and turning the other way. He swore it had been on purpose, but was immediately shut down by his sister’s obnoxiously loud giggling.
Silva and Zeno approached from a distance and couldn’t help but smile at the view in front of them.
Sayomi was rolling around in the grass with laughter, her melodious voice echoing throughout the courtyard, while Illumi sat cross-armed with a blush threatening to spread across his otherwise pale face.
It was a scene that seemed to reoccur often between the twins, their starkly different personalities showing through clear as day.
Zeno stifled a laugh at the bird which now lied dead approximately 3-feet from where they stood, one of Illumi’s needles sticking out from its rear. Regaining his composure, Zeno called out for the twins.
“Sayomi! Illumi!”
Sayomi looked up from where she laid on the grass, immediately moving to sit next to her brother once again.
In Zeno and Silva’s hands, each was a glass of water filled exactly to the brim. It was amazing how steadily the two senior assassins could move, the water remaining still in either cup.
The time had finally come where the twins would awaken and discover their Nen.
Setting the glasses down on a table in the middle of the courtyard, Silva gestured for the twins to take a seat across from them before beginning his explanation.
The twins sat down with caution, curious of the sudden change in training plans, and Silva delved into the history and power of Nen along with its importance.
Having officially bored the twins into a state of drowsiness, Silva decided to cut to the chase. “Today both of you will figure out where you belong in the spectrum of Nen users, and you will both leave here with more power than you’ve ever wielded before.”
This caught the attention of both kids, simultaneously perking up to the word “power”.
“This is called the Water Divination Test.” Silva gestured to the glasses of water placed in front of the twins.
A leaf was placed in both of the glasses, floating still upon the surfaces of water.
Zeno continued the explanation, describing what would occur. “It’s a Shingen Ryu screening tool used for classifying aura. You will place your hands on either side of the glass with the utmost focus and your abilities will be revealed by what happens.”
After a short demonstration, the twins were up to the test, eager to know which category of Nen they would belong to.
Sitting up straight in their seats, the twins raised their hands to their respective glasses and focused all their energy into the glassed of water in front of them.
Sayomi was the first to get a reaction, as the leaf floating in the water twitched and spun in circles.
She exclaimed at the sudden movement, excitedly looking up at Silva and Zeno who beamed with pride. Both adults had hidden their shock at the girl’s raw power, causing the leaf not only to twitch but spin rapidly.
It was a short-lived moment, as everyone’s attention was brought to Illumi’s leaf doing exactly the same, spinning in the other direction within the water.
Illumi cocked his head curiously at the movement, not showing as much enthusiasm as his twin. Zeno and Silva nodded in approval and the twins shared a smile as they listened in to the capabilities of their Nen category.
The twins were manipulators, Zeno explained. “Manipulators are argumentative and logical. They advance at their own pace and tend to want to keep their families and loved ones safe. On the other hand, when it comes to pursuing their own goals, they do not listen to what others might have to say about it.”
☾ i.
Life or death situations almost every day that consisted of torture-training, sparring, and even shadowing butlers at work or senior assassins on missions for a good 3 years brought the twins to their current state.
At the age of 10, Sayomi and Illumi were full-fledged and elite Zoldyck assassins. And to top it off, came the birth of Killua, the twins’ new younger brother, who would soon become Sayomi’s biggest weakness.
From the moment Killua was born, the elders sensed an overwhelming aura radiating off of the newborn, that screamed killer and powerful.
However, all Sayomi could see were the uncanny similarities between the baby and herself.
Brilliant white hair, slanted, bright blue eyes, that looked like her own violet ones, and above all, a wide, gleeful smile. Killua’s smile, although a baby, felt more genuine than any smile she had received in her entire life, and the warm sensation that spread throughout her body made her take another look at her younger brother’s sleeping face.
She was absolutely fascinated by how similar the baby could look to herself, and decided to herself then and there that she would forever protect Killua at all costs.
☾ i.
On the other hand, the twins were already on the job, taking clients and bringing enough success to spread rumours about the new generation of Zoldycks.
Sayomi was on her fifth client when she finally ran into a situation that caused her to hinder from the job.
Her target was an 18 year old girl, the daughter of the CEO that had backstabbed her client. But her age wasn’t what bothered Sayomi. It was what she’d saw while hiding in the shadows of the girl’s suite room.
From the cabinet of which she hid behind, Sayomi couldn’t help but feel a strong disdain to herself as she watched her clueless target without a sound.
The 18-year old brunette that identified as her target laughed giddily as she twirled around with a toddler in her arms. The baby let out cries of joy that seemed to pierce through Sayomi’s heart like daggers as she thought of little Killua.
The girl almost seemed like a reflection of herself, and the innocence of the situation made Sayomi’s shoulders slump as she looked at herself in disgust.
What was she thinking?
There’s no way she would be able to kill a target if she began to sympathize with them. She was supposed to be impartial, cold-blooded and cold-hearted like the rest of her family. But Sayomi was ashamed of herself, to say the least, and she wouldn’t, no, couldn’t go through with the job.
Carefully turning from her spot behind the wall, she used her stealth and speed to exit the suite back through the balcony all within a split second, before the target could notice the slight breeze left in Sayomi’s trail.
Wasting no time, she jumped down back into the balcony of her client’s room directly below, landing with the soft patter of her boots upon cement.
Walking into her client’s room without a second glance to the expectant man, she muttered under her breath that she couldn’t take out the target and continued to leave before he could process the situation.
☾ i.
Sayomi’s client had notified Kikyo of her daughter’s inability to accomplish the hit later that day, leaving her fuming with anger and embarrassment towards her eldest child.
Upon Sayomi’s return that night, Kikyo was already waiting, arms crossed and whip in hand. In a state of mindlessness, Sayomi feet led her to trudge quietly into one of the empty stone cells, ready to accept her punishment.
Kikyo scoffed at her daughter’s actions and followed the 10 year-old into the cell, knuckles turning white with her grip on the handle of the whip.
With Zeno and Silva out on their own missions, no one was around to bail Sayomi out of her mother’s wrath, and the torture lasted longer than usual with Sayomi’s refusal to answer any of Kikyo’s questions.
Kikyo was merciless, hitting Sayomi left and right until her hands bled from the grip, blinded by rage and shame.
Sayomi self-consciously endured the hits, mind blank as her body transitioned into survival mode with her lips shut tight as blood began to run down her body pooling at her feet.
She didn’t regret her decisions, however, and only let a few stray tears slip out when she thought about Killua’s smile again and his future that would very much match her own.
Though it was betrayal to think this way, she hoped he would escape.
☾ i.
When Sayomi had woken the next day to the sound of sprinklers running in the garden, she found her wounds bandaged meticulously, along with a note next to her head.
It read: “You were brave to stand against mother. But remember our purpose and don’t be stupid. - Illumi”.
Sayomi had grimaced both at the note’s contents and the pain that shot up her body as she moved to get out of bed.
She made a mental note to thank Illumi later for carrying her back to her room and set out to the training yard.
Breaking out into a jog towards the yard, Sayomi rubbed the sleep out of her eyes and attempted to tie her hair back while she picked up the pace. She winced visibly just thinking about having to train with her wounds still fresh and let out a defeated sigh as the yard came into view.
Arriving at the training yard, Sayomi’s jogging came to an abrupt stop as she saw her mother was standing with Illumi instead of their regular instructor.
Sensing the tense atmosphere, Sayomi walked briskly towards Illumi and her mother keeping her head low and eyes trained on the grass beneath her feet.
Lifting her head the slightest bit to sneak a peek at Illumi, she faltered as his eyes were trained towards the distance behind their mother, unable to read his emotions.
Kikyo finally spoke up, breaking the heavy silence that had fallen upon the three Zoldycks. “Today’s training will be a little different. It’s become apparent that we haven’t been toughening up you kids enough, so for today’s session, the two of you will fight each other until either can no longer continue. A lesson about showing mercy.”
Sayomi’s head whipped up towards her mother and then Illumi. “But father said we should never harm each other unless a mission is at stake!”
Kikyo slapped her daughter across the face and her voice showed no sympathy as she spoke. “Sayomi, dear. Don’t you think you’ve acted out enough by now?”
Sayomi only blinked a few times, ignoring the stinging sensation on her right cheek as she looked at Illumi once again.
He hadn’t moved an inch, his black eyes unwavering as Sayomi’s violet ones searched his face for any signs of emotion. There was nothing.
The twins walked out to face each other in front of their mother, waiting for the other to initiate an attack. It was a battle of nerves, as much as it was the reluctance to fight one another.
From where he stood, Illumi’s needles were untouched from their spot on his waist belt, as were Sayomi’s strapped to her upper left arm and thigh. It was a silent agreement made between the twins, neither wanting to deal more damage than would already have to be done.
Both Sayomi and Illumi knew there was no getting out of the situation, and with the meeting of their eyes, the match began.
Illumi’s right hand clenched into a fist as he swung aiming to uppercut Sayomi in the jaw, making the first move.
Sayomi had lept back instantly, before dodging another flurry of kicks and punches sent her way. She had decided well before the match began that she wouldn’t retaliate Illumi’s attacks even it meant losing.
She knew Illumi wouldn’t go as far as to make her suffer, so her plan was to put on a show for her mother until she deemed she would be satisfied. This way, only one of them had to get hurt.
As the gap between Illumi and Sayomi continued to close in, Sayomi found herself taking hits left and right, unable to defend against everything.
A critical, hard kick to the side, several hits to the face, and an orbital fracture dealt to her right eye was what finally led to Sayomi’s fall.
Bunches of brilliant white hair strayed from her once neat ponytail as Sayomi fell to her knees, incapable of continuing on with the fight.
With the blood pounding in her ears, Sayomi barely made out her mother’s furious words of which caused her to shut her eyes in wait. “Illumi! Do it now! Use your needles to teach that disgrace a lesson!”
She waited. 1, 2, 3 seconds and opened her eyes to the scene unfolding in front of her.
For the first time in a while, Illumi’s face gave away to his emotions as he shouted back against his mother.
His eyes were full of rage and hate as he continued to shout, and though she couldn’t make out the exact words he was using, Sayomi’s heart twinged at the sight of her normally obedient brother taking a stand against their mother.
The edges of her vision were blurry, and she found it hard to keep her head up as the scene began to spin in front of her, right before the ground lurched to the right from under her causing her to fall forward into darkness.
☾ i.
to be continued.

❀ headcannons of the zoldyck family meeting killua’s s/o❀
Note: i hope you don’t mind anon but i also added silva’s and kikyo’s reaction, enjoy! :-) oh, and i made alluka a girl in this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Short Background
indeed you are the s/o of the tsundere, chocolate loving and assassin, killua zoldyck
you have never met or saw his family personally before.
killua’s father, silva, called him when he found out from one of the butlers that his son has got a s/o
silva told killua to come home with you because he wants to meet you personally along with the family.
at first, he didn’t like the idea since killua wants you and your relationship private.
but his family was bound to know about you sooner later so he agreed and that’s when you meet the zoldyck family.
the two of you ventured to killua’s ‘home’, the kukuroo mountain.
Kikyo Zoldyck
once you have arrived at the zoldyck estate, you were greeted by killua’s parents almost immediately along with the servants bowing upon yours and killua’s arrival.
at first, kikyo didn’t like you.
she saw you as nothing more but a simple girl at first glance.
but seeing killua protective over you, holding you hand tightly as you and killua faced her, she didn’t dare say a thing.
“welcome to the zoldyck estate, i’m kikyo. and you are?”
you simply smiled and bowed your head, “[name] [surname], kikyo-san. it is a pleasure to meet you and the family.”
now that left a good impression on her. you were a polite person by nature and she didn’t sense you faking the greeting from your body language.
“such a polite girl you are, [name]. hmm.”
Silva Zoldyck
he was the one who requested your presence.
silva even shook hands with you when you first came inside.
“it’s nice to finally meet you.” he said briefly with a small smile.
“likewise, silva-san.” you said in reply.
he wasn’t the type to judge a book by a cover.
one thing he knows, killua has a reason for choosing you and he has no doubts for his son when it comes to his decisions.
Illumi Zoldyck
illumi didn’t really mind you being killua’s s/o
at first he didn’t really care about you but that’s when you told everyone in the zoldyck family including illumi during your dinner with them that you are actually an assassin just like them.
that’s when you became interesting towards him.
being the eldest brother, it is important to illumi that his little brother, killua, would choose the best s/o. he is the heir of the family business after all.
and killua did, he chose the best. you’re the best there is [name] :)
just like silva, he respects you just as much.
in fact, he even told you to watch killua since you’re always with him.
“[name], watch over my little brother for me, okay?”
you nodded and smiled once again, “of course. i always look after killua. i love him after all.”
then there’s killua, blushing in the background, “BAKA! SHUT UP!”
Milluki Zoldyck
his first impression of you? he honestly thought you’d be a brat just like his little brother, killua.
so decided to give the ‘right’ questions during dinner.
“do you watch anime? answer me and i’ll see if you are worthy enough.”
this irked a nerve on killua, “are you dumb or something?!”
you, however, were quite happy from milluki’s question. a little excited even.
with sparkling eyes, “yes! say, do you watch sailor moon? dragonball? oh, how about yuyu hakusho?”
he screamed
“she’s the one!”
during the family dinner dinner, you and milluki actually got to talk about your favorite anime characters and episodes.
you two even end up agreeing on each other’s opinions
milluki thinks your cool.
he even invited you to watch anime or try video games with him if you are free.
let’s hope killua will allow you, he doesn’t like milluki that much huhu
Kalluto Zoldyck
it may not look like it but he already liked you at first glance.
you honestly don’t look like an assassin, you barely look dangerous.
you looked friendly and you’ve been smiling since the moment you stepped inside the estate.
since kalluto is a quiet person, he won’t say it out loud but he wants to you to be his big sister, his onee-san.
kalluto actually wants a big sister to look up to. sadly he never sees alluka in that sense because of how dangerous she is.
and he hopes that you’d be a part of the family one day.
but he did spike up a short conversation with you.
“what’s your nen, [name]-san?” kalluto also shows respect, just like silva and illumi.
“oh, i’m a [nen type], i am capable of [nen ability].”
“that’s cool. i’d like to see your nen sometimes [name]-nee— i mean [name]-san.”
Alluka Zoldyck
killua had to convince his father for you two to see alluka in her isolated room.
it took a lot of convincing from him for silva to finally allow you.
silva made sure that you are aware of the rules for alluka. he made killua recite the rules to you for you to keep in mind.
from the moment you entered the room where she was kept in isolation, alluka saw you and instantly loved you!
“who is she onii-chan?” she was excited to meet you.
killua smiled at his younger sister, “she’s [name], she is my s/o.”
HUGS
this cinnamon roll practically flung herself to you, hugging you.
“can you be my onee-chan? [name]-nee-chan?” she asked.
you have always wanted an adorable little sister to look after. you said YES!
you and alluka instantly clicked. the two of you even played her favorite games along with killua.
the rest of the zoldyck family, who was watching through the cameras, were surprised at how you were able to get in touch with everyone in the family.
even alluka liked you? they were in shock.
you also met nanika.
she appeared when she started making requests from you.
this made killua and his family nervous at first because you might get yourself killed. killua was mostly worried that you’d freak out from nanika. but you didn’t.
“[name]-chan!” nanika giggled, “carry me!”
the requests that nanika made you do were actually easy. they found it unfair and surprising.
“nanika, do you like [name]?” killua asked her, eyes widened in shock. he had this smile on his face.
nanika looked at you and hugged you the same way alluka hugged you. “i love [name]-chan just like i love killua-chan.”
now that made your heart melt and killua burst into euphoria.
his family were utterly speechless at how you were able to handle nanika so well.
after fulfilling nanika’s requests, you were able to make a wish.
you wished for a necklace from nanika but you gave it to ‘them’ and alluka instead.
“that’s for you to keep. i think it suits you two more.” you said.
“ai! thank you [name]-chan.” nanika said before alluka reverted back to her old self.
alluka was extremely happy at the gift and overall having you as killua’s s/o.
Conclusion:
the zoldyck family ought of you as the perfect s/o for killua and they were very pleased with you.
especially silva and kikyo, you have truly earned their respects when you handled alluka and nanika with ease.
now get married to killua !

#29 i have a fetish this week, i guess lol.
29: a kiss on the inside of the wrist.
Wind whipped her hair back to thrash in the breeze, and Kagome tightened her coat around her. One of Miroku and Sango's twins inched a little too close to the edge, and the miko quickly snatched her up before she could fall.
"Careful," she smiled, tapping the cute munchkin's nose.
Hachi was generously giving them a lift to the former Demon Slayer's Village where Kohaku awaited them. It was thankfully faster than travelling on foot. Kagome couldn't help but stare wistfully at the passing scenery, mind cast adrift.
"Don't worry, Lady Kagome!" Miroku called from up front, "we're making good time."
"Hm?"
"You looked a little bored," he chuckled.
Kagome blushed and noticed Sango staring. "N-no! I was just wondering if the village would be alright without us," she lied, feeling terrible that her priorities were so missed up that she wasn't worried about them.
"Inuyasha is there to protect everyone, try to relax. This is meant to be a break," Sango smiled.
Nodding, she returned it, playing with their twin's feet and causing her to giggle.
After a few moments of being left alone to her thoughts however, Kagome naturally fell back into her musings. She began recalling that night. That fateful rainy night Sesshoumaru had extended an offer to her that would change the nature of their relationship forever.
----
Rain poured hard, pelting her shoulders like icy needles. Kagome shuddered miserably, arms curled tight around herself as she hurried towards a tree. Ducking down against the bark gave her mild relief, feeling only small droplets reach her from the position. She sighed heavily, breath fanning out visible.
In retrospect, navigating by night from the Bone Eater's Well towards the village hadn't been a wise decision without a torch. ‘I'd been in too much of a hurry to leave.’
Mindling soaked dark strands back from her damp forehead, Kagome blinked and squinted into the darkness. Something was flying through the rain filled skies. Faint green flames could be seen like flickering stars. They drew closer, a black square shape becoming visible.
Kagome wasn't sure what to make of it. The structure resembled an ancient Japanese court carriage, the shutters thick black lacquer to ensure privacy, lanterns hanging from the roof. Flowers patterned its side, carved into the wood in intricate, sprawling patterns and shining gold.
Instead of being pulled by a man or horse though, it was a demon drawn carriage. Small kappa-like demons ensured the carriage glided through the air smoothly. Kagome shivered. She could taste youki the air it seeped so thick and strong. Familiar...
The carriage hovered, lowering itself to muddy, rainsoaked ground. From the back, wooden blinds were turned and snapped up sharply, letting a thick haze of pipe smoke escape like a dusty exhale from a dragon.
Sesshoumaru gazed at her from within the carriage, endowed with more grandeur and finery than she'd ever seen him wear before. Usually his outfit comprised of refined beauty mixed with practicality and strength. Without battle armour, he looked softer. Lilac silks were patterned with his house crest. Earrings glittered upon pointed ears. An ornate pipe was held between deft fingers, and he took a drag, observing her with watchful curiosity.
"Are you going to stand there all night, miko?"
Kagome gaped and glanced around, wondering if Kaede had appeared or Kikyo had risen from the dead a fourth time. Surely he wasn't talking to her?
But sure enough, that flat, unimpressed gaze was mistakable. Kagome swallowed and hurried out from the shelter of the trees. Climbing up into the back entrance of the carriage, she found the space limited and swathed in furs. Cosy, but alarmingly close to Sesshoumaru. Their knees were almost touching as she sat opposite him. The blinds were snapped down over the exit before she could protest, her body swaying forward from momentum as the carriage ascended once more. Kagome quickly righted herself before she could land atop his lap.
Sesshoumaru observed her with mild amusement, tilting a regal chin up. "Is there a reason I find you by yourself?"
Kagome bristled and hugged her arms "I don't need Inuyasha to mind me like a child. I can do things on my own," she grumbled.
"Mn, so I have observed. You have often been alone lately, miko."
Her teeth ground, shivering violently. She jumped upon feeling plumes of lavish fur wrap around her shoulders. It practically drowned her in warmth. "T-thanks."
Busying himself with another languid drag, looking decadent yet exuding opulence, Sesshoumaru hummed. He seemed to be waiting for her to continue, so Kagome sighed and reluctantly elaborated.
"We broke up a few months ago. Things are still a little strained between us, is all. Why do you care?"
"I do not, this one is merely making conversation."
She frowned, gesturing to him. "Your turn. How come I find you cruising around Japan in this era's equivalent of a Porsche?"
"What is a Porsche?"
"It's a car."
"What is a-"
"We're getting off the subject," Kagome giggled, catching herself. Had she ever giggled around him before?
Sesshoumaru didn't seem to mind, now pouring himself some saké, "I am returning from a gathering of influential demons."
"Ohhh now I get it," her eyes danced. "You're drunk because of a party, that's why you're so amiable tonight. Makes sense."
Golden eyes immediately turned flat. They were relaxed and not as sharp as per the norm but awareness kept his pupils focused. "This is not my true form. I have not nearly consumed enough to become inebriated."
Kagome glanced him over, frowning when he offered her a cup of the clear liquid- ultimately shrugging and accepting it. Taking a tentative sip, she choked and coughed, blinking rapidly. "That tastes vile," the words came out as a squeak.
He sniffed primly, giving a haughty look and eyeing the cup. "...You are entirely correct. This is not good saké. Perhaps Lord Onozuka was attempting to poison me."
She nodded seriously. "My Grandpa's stuff is better- though at 18, it's technically illegal for me to have tried it. Don't tell anyone," a grin was working its way onto her mouth.
"Would not dream of it," his lips curved, honeyed gaze smiling. "Perhaps you are not as pure and innocent as first assumed, miko."
She abruptly lost her playful mood, glancing away with thin lips. Silence engulfed them, filling up with large consuming bursts of miserable scent as her emotions rolled turbulently. "...Surely...you can tell I'm not 'pure' anymore," Kagome mumbled. "Are you making fun of me?"
Sesshoumaru stared at her levelly, nostrils flaring. Winter lashes lowered slightly. "I could scent that you were no longer a virgin, but that has little to do with the purity of your soul, miko."
She sighed heavily, taking a sip of the alcohol and wincing. "It was wrong of me- n-not the sex part. I don't believe sex before marriage 'taints' someone or anything like that. It's just...I did it with someone I shouldn't have. My boyfriend..."
He arched a brow. "Is that not the term of a human male in a relationship?"
"Y-yeah, I'm not making sense, I know. Asahi was a rebound, we only dated a short time. That's the problem. I totally used him- and I feel terrible for it."
Violent shame twined with regret, tears pricking her eyes. She gripped the porcelain cup so hard it trembled in her hold. "Inuyasha moved on so quickly from our relationship. I-I thought there was something wrong with me, so I forced myself to date someone else. I'm lonely, sure, but that's no excuse. I wish I'd never done it- I should've just stayed far away from any relationship until I knew for sure I wasn't going to use the guy-"
Sesshoumaru's fingers wrapped around her hand, cutting her off mid-tirade. Her breath stalled, quelled by his calm gaze.
He huffed softly, claws lightly skimming sensitive skin. "First of all, foolish woman; did this Asahi boy seem dissatisfied or upset about being 'used?'"
"N-no...but he didn't get the full story."
"You do not owe him an explanation," Sesshoumaru rumbled, something tinging his voice. "He could not tell you were miserable, and knows nothing of your life here- furthermore would not understand. I see no reason to punish yourself thus for experiencing a moment of pleasure after months of distress."
She'd never heard him be so chatty before. Nonetheless, Kagome remained unconvinced, staring at her shoes miserably and attempting to lift the alcohol towards her lips- Sesshoumaru's grip preventing her.
Ever so slowly, in a way that turned her stomach inside out and sent a rush of heat shooting straight down to her core- Sesshoumaru lifted her occupied hand, brushing soft lips over the inside of her wrist.
"In light of this new information," he said quietly. "I feel something should be done to drastically alter your mindset on indulgence."
"W-what-" Kagome squeaked, swallowing and closing her eyes. When they slid open, the miko raised her chin, intrigue blooming like a fresh flower bud in her forget-me-not eyes. "What did you have in mind?" she breathed.
"I have a proposition for you."

No Place I Would Rather Be
Summary: We're a thousand miles from comfort. We have traveled land and sea. But as long as you are with me, there's no place I'd rather be. Word Count: 3.617 Genre: fluff Fandom: InuYasha Pairing: Inukag Format: oneshot AO3 Link: 🌹 Fanfic.Net Link: 🌹

Boredom was eating him alive.
Days had passed without a single lead about the jewel fragments. So much that their little group had disbanded for the time being. Sango went back to what was left of her old village. It had been a while since she last paid homage to their dead. Kirara, of course, was her loyal company — and also ride. Miroku was visiting Mushin’s Temple, as if the place hadn't been profaned enough, already. Shippo was still around, but keeping his distance due to InuYasha’s stormy mood.
The frustration of it all got him desperately wishing for some kind — any kind — of action. Something that didn’t involve sulking under a tree and watching time crawl. Every second of this idleness meant another second Naraku was out there, still breathing. Collecting the shards was a small mean to achieve a bigger, imperative ending. It gave him purpose, a sense of getting closer to his ultimate goal step by step. Waiting got them nowhere. It only granted him to be alone with his thoughts and the combination was nothing but disastrous.
Lucky for him, his private source of distraction was not too far away.
Kagome was humming a foreign tune, the same one she liked to sing whenever she was happy. Following the melody was almost mandatory. InuYasha didn’t realize what he was doing until he arrived to the other side of it, where the girl thumbed through her hair in a futile attempt to tame her hair, the lake’s surface a natural mirror at her convenience. InuYasha made his presence known before his own reflection joined hers.
“It’s no use, ya know.”
“Jerk!”
The girl glared at him and retaliated by splashing water on his direction — of which he easily dodged. InuYasha had to admit her reaction was justified, given his past tendency to be utterly unkind to her. This time, however, although his tone wasn’t devoided of casual teasing, he was being completely honest. When you spend sunrise to sunset with someone for so long, it was inevitable learning a thing or two about them. Kagome had a wild hair. Not in a bad way, but it sure had its own will. Especially in the humidity, which was definitely the case of that afternoon. To an outside viewer, the strands could pass as straight. Noticing the shy waves at the end and how they used to stand out after getting wet was a privilege for the few allowed to look closer — a privilege InuYasha cherished. She always had her hair down and he liked that she did. It was destined to be free, to go with the wind. And it had grown a hell of a lot since they first met. The half demon wondered if Kagome was aware of how much. He certainly was.
Then she got up, revealing clothes that were undoubtedly new to his eyes. It was one piece, all lime flowers and malleable fabric against her cream skin. A bit longer than what she usually cared to wear, but leaving her arms and shoulders at plain sight in compensation. The view was thrilling, until his eyes caught the yellow backpack laying by her feet, causing his grin to falter. He understood the implication behind it, even if the question had yet to pass his lips.
“What’s with the weird kimono?”
“Oh, this.” Kagome lowered her gaze, inspecting for herself. Her combative attitude swiftly turning into a cautious posture. “It’s a sundress. I’ve been meaning to ask… can you please give me a ride to the well? I’m going home.”
There it was.
Somehow, getting his suspicions confirmed did nothing to prevent the scowl from forming on his face.
“Thought the school thing were over for the summer.”
“Well, yes...”
“Then why the fuck ya going home for? We still have plenty of supplies!”
“Because I promised I’d go to the movies with Hojo and now that we’re on vacation I don’t have excuses not to go, anymore. My grandpa literally ran out of diseases I could have. And what’s the point, anyway? Jewel hunting is going through a dry spell, everyone left… and I haven’t seen my family in weeks.”
Half of what she said didn’t make any sense to him and InuYasha positively hated the half that did.
“What if something comes up? I can’t see the damn shards like you do.” He argued.
“You jump through the well and get me.” She shrugged, as if the idea was highly unlikely. InuYasha opened his mouth to list the many, many reasons her solution was flawed. She bit him to the punch. “Listen, it’s not a big deal. I’ll be back tomorrow. I bet Miroku and Sango won’t even be here yet.”
It wasn’t fair.
In general, storming off to her era was Kagome’s way of punishing him for being a massive asshole. He got that. To tell the truth, more often than not he deserved it. But InuYasha was in his best behavior — despite feeling rightfully entitled to throw a tantrum, given the circumstances — precisely because he needed her close. He needed her to stay. Picturing Kagome hanging out with someone else instead was the worst kind of self torture. Would she change her mind if he swallowed his pride long enough to say so? Would he ever get the guts to let it out? She hadn’t invited him to come along. Was this Hojo guy really that important to her? More than InuYasha was? Trying to talk her out of it was a dangerous move. He’d put his foot in his mouth, she’d put his face on the ground. That’s what they did.
Either his expression betrayed the turmoil inside or Kagome became too good at figuring him out. Whatever it was, her smile shined, reassuring and warm.
“Don’t worry, I’ll be so quick, you won’t have time to miss me.”
“Who says I’d miss ya?” He dismissed, his indifference unconvincing even to himself.
InuYasha perceived another presence approaching. Shippo. His arrival couldn’t be more providential. Kagome had a soft spot for the brat. If anyone could get her to stay, it was him.
“What’s wrong?”
“It’s just the runt.”
Like he had been announced, the kid emerged from the trees in a hurry, Kagome’s bow and quiver looking gigantic on his tiny hands.
“Kagome! InuYasha!”
“Shippo-chan! What’s going on?” She asked, as soon as the boy reached them.
“There are rumors of a jewel fragment, two villages to the west.” He explained, with the pomposity the information called for. “Kaede sent me.” His chin was up high, like the statement added a final hint of importance to the message. “Here,” continued the kit, offering Kagome her weapon in a formal manner.
She hesitated.
“Kagome, let’s go!” InuYasha was prepared to move at the sound of the word ‘jewel’, their earlier argument happily buried and forgotten.
“Wait! Don’t you think it’s strange? For days we had no leads, and now, just when we splitted up…”
“Yeah, well, so what if it’s a trap? It wouldn’t be the first.”
Coward that he was, Naraku resorted to the nastiests schemes in order to get what he wanted. His disgusting fingers laid on every happenstance that had ever caused them harm. What choice did InuYasha have, though? Ruse or not ruse, he had to check it. Regardless of anyone else’s help, it was his duty to get vengeance on the bastard — for Kikyo, for himself — and Kagome knew that.
She sighed and took the bow and arrows from the fox’s hold.
“Thank you so much, Shippo-chan! Now can you do me another favor?”
“Anything!”
“Go back to Kaede. Tell her InuYasha and I are on our way.”
“I’m not coming with you?” He whined, as confused as InuYasha. They never traveled without the child.
“That’s right. We don’t know how dangerous this may be. I need you to stay and if we don’t come back tomorrow by noon, get Miroku and Sango and send them to us. Can you do that for me?”
Shippo resolutely nodded .
“I won’t let you down, Kagome.”
“I know you won’t.”
And through the same path he had appeared he went. Kagome fixed a pleading glance at InuYasha.
“Can I at least change clothes before we g—”
“No time to waste.” He said, grabbing Kagome and her bag to leap towards west.
Tumblr media
Kagome was whistling that same song again.
It took him an enormous amount of self restraint not to whistle along.
He was happy. So wonderfully happy. It was astonishing, the effect that tiny, bossy human girl had over his humor. The fact they were following the possible whereabouts of a lost jewel piece also played a role on his attitude swing, there was no denying that. But even if this turns out to be nothing at all, it would be a small price to pay in exchange of spending more time with her.
“Weren’t you mad about not coming home just now?”
His curiosity was genuine. Kagome had been angry since they left and InuYasha would be the person to know. She had two kind of anger. The one he could hear and the one he could feel. Even though she had been unusually silent, her frustration was palpable at first. Mercifully, it seemed to fade away the more ground they covered. Her one complaint was the soreness that too many hours on the same position inflicted upon the muscles, which was why they were both walking. As a rule, he was strictly opposite to anything that might slow them down, and the human pace was unbearable once you had a taste of demonic speed. Running free, with trees and people alike turning into a blur on each side of him, was an unparalleled sensation, amplified tenfold whenever Kagome was riding his back. He didn’t regret giving in, though. They weren’t far from their destination, after all. In addition, her comfort came to be a priority, despite him still being unaware as to when or how.
“Well… yeah, but… what can I do, right? Besides, I haven’t realized how much I missed this.”
Clueless, InuYasha searched their surroundings, unsuccessfully intending to spot what she could possibly be referring to.
“Whatcha talkin’ about?”
“This!” She spinned around, open arms and face to the sky, chasing daylight like a sunflower, the movement bringing her garment to life. “You. Me. An adventure. Don’t get me wrong, I love Shippo and the others, I’m glad they joined us. It just feels like we haven’t had as much quality time together as we used to, after they did.”
“Y-you miss that?”
She shook her head up and down with enthusiasm and a content smile fought its way across his lips.
“I know we could hang out in Kaede’s village, but it’s not the same as going out. O-on a trip, I mean.”
Although InuYasha couldn’t make out why her cheeks were suddenly burning red, he did see the logic her reasoning, and the feeling was mutual. There was a certain level of closeness only the road could provide. No curious eyes. No sly comments. No need to explain themselves. InuYasha had missed that as well.
He often played with the thought of stealing her away, of placate his selfish thirst for her undivided attention. Not once had he imagined Kagome would be as eager to go as he was to take her. Regardless, the timing wasn’t right. It never was. From the moment they met, they were tossed into a mission and there was hardly space for anything else. So he settled for whatever he could get until it was over.
“Why would you miss those trips? It ain’t like I was nice to ya back then.”
It didn’t make sense to him that she would. His memories were of a spoiled little girl, complaining about the bugs and her aching legs and the fact she hadn’t bathed in days. There was no escaping InuYasha’s share of responsibility on the issue. He could have made her life easier, had he bothered to. But at the beginning he saw Kagome as a potential threat he would eventually get rid off. How could he have guessed, after the many betrayals he had endured through the years, that his heart would be safe on her hands?
Kagome limited herself to a shrug.
“You are now.” She stated, as if it made up for his unexcusable former behavior. Her unconditional forgiveness amazed him, no matter how regularly she had shown it to him. “Also, it feels like old times.”
“It doesn’t unless you get kidnapped, somehow.”
“It happened once or twice!”
“Keh! Stop kidding yourself.”
“Shut up.”
“You shut up.”
“No, shut up. I’m sensing a shard and it’s moving away.”
Wordlessly, InuYasha returned the backpack to her and offered her his back.
They raced at full gallop, Kagome guiding their course. The forest transitioned into arid highland, where dirt, thorns and rocky surfaces took place.
“Hey, you!” Kagome yelled at the youkai emerging in their camp of vision. Their target. Over his shoulder, the startled creature sneaked a peek at them and increased speed. Growling, InuYasha matched his rhythm. “Wait up! We won’t hurt you.”
“I’m pretty sure Imma hurt him.”
“Give the jewel fragment to us peacefully and you’ll be free to go!” She went on, his snide remarks as ignored by her as her plead was by the demon. InuYasha’s patience was wearing thin. Now that the rumors turned out to be true, his focus was entirely aimed at the task at hand.
“Are those fancy arrows of yours just for show?”
Kagome let out a deep breath. Shooting was her last ressource. She preferred to sort things out with words first. It rarely worked. Still she always tried.
“I suppose we have no choice.”
The arrow hit the creature in the calf and his groan of pain reverberated through the field. Not lethal, but enough of a nuisance to make him drop the run. InuYasha closed the distance between them within seconds. Kagome climbed off him and together they inspected their opponent.
On the floor, a possum demon hissed and exhibited his fangs at them, his ugly face twisting in agony while he pulled the arrow out. A cascate of blood immediately flowed from the wound. InuYasha was not fooled by it. Being a full youkai, he would be healed soon.
“Where is it?” InuYasha asked Kagome, not daring to leave the bastard out of his sight.
“His belly.”
“Step away, you filthy half breed!”
“Excuse me?” Kagome defied, any trace of courtesy forgotten.
“That was quite the damage she did on ya, there.” InuYasha released Tessaiga from its sheath as he approached the fallen man. “Think I can top it, though.”
“Step away, I said!”
His fear was palpable. InuYasha could feel it. See it. Smell it.
Smell it.
Faster than realization, the odor filled his lungs. It burned his nostrils, his throat. He could taste the toxic substance on his tongue. It was unbearable. And gasping for air only resulted in the pungent scent flooding him further, overwhelming his senses. A defense mechanism, he thought, his vision blurring, his knees giving in. I’m going to faint. No. No, no, no, no, no. Kagome. He had to protect Kagome.
There was a cry of his name.
And then an awful lot of darkness.
Tumblr media
InuYasha came to abruptly, uncertain and alarmed by the new reality.
In one minute, the sun was up and he was succumbing, his consciousness leaving him to drift. In the next, he was awake and crickets sang the night’s arrival.
It was tempting to think he had dreamt the whole thing. A stupid, ridiculous, crazy ass dream. However, the lingering smell left no room for argument. It happened. The scent was weaker. Fading. But was there, overpowered by a significantly nicer aroma. A familiar one, sweet on the nose and soothing to the soul. Kagome’s.
He was lying half naked in her sleeping bag.
Sitting up, InuYasha seeked for the priestess, desperate to make sure for himself she was safe and sound.
The fragile light of her modern lantern illuminated the cavern that sheltered them. At its entrance, a girl rested — her silhouette contoured by a starry sky.
“Kagome.”
“You’re awake!”
She rushed to him, tripping over her own eagerness. Her beautiful clothes were dirty and a bit ripped at the hem. A small scratch cut her cheek, remnants of dry blood tainting her skin.
“Are you alright? What happened?”
“I’m fine!” Kagome kneeled in front of him, a gesture he appreciated. There was no peace for him without an up close inspection of her well being. “I purified the demon after you blacked out. Turns out it was a trap. Thousands of Naraku’s second-class demons came for the shard when I took him down. I tried to purify those too, but more of them kept coming and I ran out of arrows, so I casted a barrier and—”
“You casted a barrier?”
InuYasha was beyond impressed. Barriers required great power and discipline. Even from Kaede or the monk. Kagome had apparently done it all by herself. Effortlessly. On the spot.
“To be honest, I don’t know how I did it. I just… I saw you lying there and I… anyway, the barrier purified the ones who touched it. Eventually they all died or left. How are you feeling?”
InuYasha didn’t answer the question.
“I’m sorry, Kagome, that you couldn’t rely on me.”
Guilt pulsed within him like a heartbeat. Constant and compulsory, expanding the outcomes of its work through every inch of his body.
“It’s not your fault. Your nose is too keen, of course you’d be affected the most.”
“But you got hurt!”
“In the thorns. I was careless. Don’t worry about it, it’s not even going to leave a scar.”
“It shouldn’t have even happened. I’m supposed be the one protecting you, not the other way around.”
It could have been worse. InuYasha should be grateful for that. He wasn’t. It could have been worse. And he wouldn’t be able to help her, to save her from this insignificant peril while she had already saved him in every conceivable way there was for a person to be saved.
“I’m not as helpless as I used to be, you know? I’ve grown a lot.” She had a point. InuYasha himself had told her that much, once. Kagome had faced scarier dangers than that. And she could absolutely take them. But he didn’t want her to have to. “Not to mention, it was totally worth it.”
As a proof, she exhibited a jewel fragment, glowing in the healthiest shade of pink.
“You got it!” InuYasha captured the shard, glancing at every angle of it in awe.
“Don’t act so surprised.”
Kagome went for her backpack and came back, falling on her knees again. Her hand dove in and emerged holding the glass container in which they kept the other pieces. She opened it and tilted the receiver to InuYasha, hinting for him to do the honors.
It was as if she had been waiting for him so they could do it together.
As if it was their private, sacred ritual.
He did as she wanted, mirroring her satisfied smile.
“Where’s my haori?”
“Oh! I… I put it away.” Blushing, Kagome tore her gaze from his and InuYasha followed it to a corner of the cave, where a huddle of scarlet fabric laid forgotten. “I figured you’d heal faster with that smell gone and your haori is soaked on it. Sorry.”
“D-don’t apologize, stupid. It was the right call.” To feel useful — and to occupy his brain with something other than the image of Kagome undressing him — InuYasha searched her backpack for the first aid kit, a tool from her era he was sadly too intimate with. “Now let’s take care of this cut.”
“Okay. You have to g—”
“I know what to do. I’ve seen you do it a thousand times.” Her lips parted, and InuYasha added: “Don’t act so surprised.”
He cleaned the wound with cotton, water and soap, then used a different ball of cotton to carefully apply the content of a smelly little bottle to the extension of it. Kagome hissed, but he ignored it in favor of wrapping it all up with a band-aid. To ensure it was properly stretched, he gently ran his thumb through it, allowing the touch to linger more than necessary and his stare to go from her cheek to her eyes.
Her eyes.
The most stunning maze.
Let yourself get in, you are sure to get lost.
She blinked before he could, keeping them closed and leaning into his palm, her hand lifting to cover and caress his.
It would be so easy to grip her chin. To turn her face to him. To bring her to his lips.
So easy to steal a kiss.
Why do the easiest actions have to carry the most difficult consequences?
Clearing his throat, InuYasha transformed present into a loving memory.
“Take some rest. We leave first thing tomorrow.”
“Sounds good to me.”
On the way to claim Kagome’s prior guarding position by the entrance of the cave, InuYasha collected Tessaiga while she busied herself with getting cozy inside the sleeping bag.
“Kagome?”
“Yeah?”
“Thank you.”
“InuYasha, I think we’re way past saying thank you for saving each other’s lives.”
“No, not for that. I mean, for that too, but... for coming. For staying by my side.”
“Stupid.” She mocked him, her voice lethargic as exhaustion finally caught up to her. “Where else would I be?”
Tumblr media
A/N: this was some serious self indulgent bullshit. I regret nothing.
@inukag-week here is another piece of contribution. Kind of merged the Loyalty and the Instinct prompts here. Oops.

i’m rewriting yashahime in my head (i’m only half serious, oh also, i’m not a writer)
-i’m not keen on the idea of sessh procreating for some reason it feels ooc lmao (hello aroace king), but i think towa and setsuna are cute. it seemed like there was naraku symbolism & kagura fit nature vs. nurture, so for the sake of keeping the twins, somehow kagura is reborn, and we’re gonna say she is a half-demon. the twins are hers and sessh’s. they’re actually 3 quarter demons which i think is a cool contrast to their cousin moroha
-rin is the best older sister ever, and the apple of her father’s eye! i’m trying to think of what would be a good “profession” for her...but honestly i just want her to be happy and carefree lol. her childhood was very stressful
-i like the twins’ designs, but i haven’t thought about them much since i was never a huge sessh fan. towa is for sure nonbinary. personally, i wish their discomfort with gender norms was explored more in “canon.” setsuna, i have to think about more since they basically wrote her like a 14 yr old, less mean version of sessh, but i would wanna flesh her character out more. i think it would be cool if they were actually hisui’s age (and older than moroha by maybe a year or two?)
-once i had this thought that it would be cool if there was a time period where mixed human/demon ancestry was more common (maybe humans like sango and miroku have distant demon relatives like a great grandparent or something. can we explore this???), and something happened and it became taboo which is why inuyasha went through what he did, etc. so, there’s still discrimination over it, but things are getting better however towa and setsuna struggle because of who their “grandpa” (naraku) was. i think inuyasha (cause half-demon uncle) and rin (human who understands humans can be just as cruel) would play a big role in helping them accept that they’re not to be ashamed of their ancestry (side plot? maybe this is a side story apart from something else i talk about later in the post.)
-kohaku? he has no scar and his freckles are back! that boy has suffered enough. he still adores his sister & he is the best uncle ever! kohaku has very soft vibes lol for some reason i feel like he wouldn’t really want to slay demons after everything he went through. can we just let him rest? maybe he would become a healer of some sort. kohaku maintains a close relationship with sessh, kagura, and rin! lives with miroku and sango. maybe he is closest to his niece gyokuto?
-kingyo are BOTH alive and well. they’re both lesbians. gyokuto is spiritual like her father, and k’inu does her own thing. maybe she inherited his shady/flirty behavior? i feel like i saw a similar hc, and i think that’s cute. she’s off charming girls and that’s why we haven’t seen her
-hisui takes after his mom. he’s a sweet boy but he’s also serious. his mom trained him! he also learned some stuff from his uncle kohaku!
-miroku and sango are bicons. why is this relevant? cause i said so. i feel like it fits their characters idk why. they’re wholesome and happy because sango deserves the world. miroku is still flirty but only w/ sango because he’s matured and loves his fuckin wife. who wouldn’t? she’s amazing. also, we’re done with stupid misogynistic tropes! he never groped ppl. we are retconning that shit. kilala is also alive and well.
-miroku was the stay-at-home dad mostly while the kids were young & sango brought in some $ by doing slaying jobs, but i can see them switching it around and him bringing home $ from doing spiritual jobs. also, she is the head of the demon slayers because why wouldn’t she be? (she is the older sibling and unlike sunrise i’m aware that women can uh do something other than be wives, also kohaku’s done w/ that stuff remember?)
-they live next to kagome and inuyasha! kagome and inuyasha had their beautiful little babeeyyyy moroha who takes after both of them. inuyasha loves his child very much, and is constantly overwhelmed by a happiness he never thought he would have! she’s pretty much like a mini version of him, and kagome finds their relationship very endearing. she loves them very much! like in the show, moroha’s in touch with her spiritual powers. i think it would be cool if something happened one day while moroha was by the well, and she ended up in the present time. sota, mama higurashi and grandpa higurashi would cry and dote on her properly. maybe the plot is that she is stuck there, and inukag gotta go get her back? cue eventual kagome reunion with her family that is very emotional and makes me cry.
-random, but i think it would be cute if miroku, kagome, and kaede taught the kids who were into spirituality and healing, and sango and inuyasha taught the kids who were more into combat/slaying. i liked the inuyasha and sango friendship and the miroku and kagome friendship, so i think that’s something i would explore more
-moroha and hisui are best buds since they’re basically the cousins closest in age (i mean towa and setsuna too, but i don’t think sesshoumaru + his family would live as close to everyone)
-kingyo are definitely moroha’s older sister figures too
-i think kaede is strong and not kicking the bucket anytime soon, so she would basically be like the go-to babysitter while the kids are young & she is fine with that. when the kids were younger, inu gang still went on little day missions while kaede looked after the kiddies
-little shippo...i don’t know what to do about him. maybe we can age him at the same rate as a human would until he is done with adolescence...? so maybe he would be around rin’s age? i think his role would be like an uncle/older brother to the kids. he lives with everyone in the village, of course! also, his powers and magic have gotten more sophisticated. i need to think more about his character
-my version would be more slice of life instead of everyone being unhappy and there being another big bad that needs to be defeated...
-we can keep kirinmaru cause his design is cool. he can be toga’s spiteful ex because why not?
-maybe there is a prophecy but it came from an oracle (maybe zero can be the oracle instead of his sister) who saw a quarter demon with strong spiritual powers would defeat kirinmaru in like 3 yrs time or something (he has become too powerful and tyrannical?) we can keep the manipulation of space-time as a thing. maybe he somehow triggered the events that led to moroha being trapped in present day? (she’s the MC of my version)
-maybe a chunk of the story follows her life throughout a few years trapped in the present-era, but it explores the ways in which demons are still a part of present day japan (that way she does get raised by her parents, but also is apart from them for a period enough for it to feel like there’s a conflict (mirroring when kagome couldn’t get back to feudal japan)
-maybe we see some of our og gangs descendants (moroha enrolls in school or something)?
-kirinmaru keeps tabs on her through osamu kirin????? she figures it out idfk
-inuyasha finds out his dads ex is scared of his 14 yr old daughter? dude idk someone said toga kirinmaru exes and my brain has been like fixated on this ever since. it’s like not even relevant but i will make it relevant some how
-after tearful higurashi reunion, they all go back to feudal era and kick kirinmaru’s ass. prophecy is fulfilled (maybe well stays functioning and kagome can once again travel back and forth. i have to work out how this wouldn’t screw time up. maybe we can just close our eyes and ignore it? hehe)
-omg i almost forgot koga. idk what would happen w/ him....i feel like he would definitely be like moroha’s uncle! ginta and hakkaku are married.
-OH! kikyo? she is fucking resting in peace. please let her rest. she went through so much lol.

Hired help from new ask game🤩
Hi @liz8080!
I’m trying to think if there’s a specific scene I’ve already written, and of what’s already published, I think I’d have to say the moment when Kikyo storms his apartment and the whole spiel that follows because it’s peak friendship that has reached weird levels of comfort:
Minutes passed. She tried again. No response. Kikyo pressed her ear to the door, and could faintly hear a growl from deep within the apartment. Her eyebrows lowered dangerously as her hand shot into her purse to find the spare set of keys she'd been given for such an occasion. If he was going to be a brat, he couldn't yell at her for dragging him to work. 'Please have pants on,' she chanted to herself as she unlocked the door and let herself in. She really didn't need another instance of seeing his naked ass – or other bits – sprawled out somewhere in his apartment.
Not that it wasn't bad to look at. It was actually rather firm looking and shaped decently. The whole image was lost on her, however. Did absolutely nothing to get her lady bits roaring.
Kikyo took small steps around the apartment, not bothering to shout out Inuyasha's name. It wouldn't have done any good. He'd have just told her to piss off, and she was already headed to pissed off just having to come out here and get him. The trail he'd left behind in his drunken wake the night before led her to the bedroom, where she saw a half-naked lump buried under the covers. At least she hoped he was just half-naked.
"Get up," she said firmly.
"Fuck off." came the mumbled reply from under the pillow.
"Too early in the day. I prefer to set the mood when I do, you grouchy ass."
"Ain't it a little early in the day for your breakfast of Carnation Instant Bitch?"
Kikyo huffed lightly, letting her purse drop to the floor. So this was how he wanted to be? Fine then, she'd play along. Grabbing fistfuls of the duvet she jerked it off the bed, leaving the only thing concealing his usual lack of modesty was the boxer briefs and the pillows he was holding. "Oh good," she commented nonchalantly. "I'm glad to see that your sausage has been contained this morning."
"Oh fuck off," he groaned, rolling onto his back.
"I already told you that I need the proper mood, and certainly not during work hours." Kikyo dumped the duvet next to the foot of the bed and walked to the side to stare at him. "Do I need to take the pillows too, or are you going to be a good boy and get up on your own?"
A minute passed before she saw the pillow get tossed across the room and Inuyasha sat up. Kikyo cocked a brow at the state of his face. She could smell the alcohol on his breath still, so he must have drunk an unimaginable amount the night before. A fine dusting of stubble was trying to come in, but his hair – that naturally silver hair that younger girls were attempting to match with store bought dye kits – was a wild mess of curls, sticking up in every direction imaginable.
"Thank the gods you're wearing boxers if you hair looks like that," she commented. "I'd hate to think of what a bad wiener day would look like for you."
"Ha ha ha," he said dryly. Inuyasha ran his hand through his hair, grimacing at the places where the tangles didn't come loose easily. "What time is it?"
"Just after 8:30. It's Monday, by the way, Weekend Warrior."
"Fuck."
"Not on work hours. What you do on your time's your business."
The hanyou shot a look at Kikyo, who just crossed her arms. "You have to work," she said in all seriousness. "Toga called me and said that you hadn't shown up like you usually do. He…said you and Yura aren't a thing anymore. Wanted me to check on you and bring you in so you could distract yourself. We've got a new hire this morning, and he wants everyone to be present to meet her."
Inuyasha groaned as he stood up and hobbled to the bathroom to pee. Kikyo moved around the bedroom, throwing the duvet and the scattered pillows back onto the bed before searching his closet for suitable clothing. Getting him into a proper suit was out of the question, so she settled for a dark wash pair of jeans, a button down shirt, undershirt and boxers. She'd let him figure out his damn socks, she decided, as she carried said items to the bathroom. Kikyo didn't bother to knock as she threw the door open, rolling her eyes at his shriek as he was stepping into the running shower.
"Oh get a damn grip! It ain't like I haven't seen your junk before!"
As far as a scene I haven’t written....well it’s not a specific scene cause I’m sure there’s a chance it could happen a couple times....office smut

How do you think the adult trio would have been had they a chance to grow up in a normal stable family? Are their behaviors (mostly) a product of nature or nurture?
This is actually a very good question. I honestly believe that, inmost cases, nurture wins against nature. I’ll try to give my analysis ofeach case. Now, I just read a little about psychology for fun (and because I loveit), I’m not an expert and this is how I see things. It doesn’t mean, at all, that I am right.
Tumblr media
Hisoka
The whole fandom agrees that something happened to Hisoka and verylikely made him into what he is today, but how much of this is connectedto the present is anyone’s guess. I think I mentioned how I noticed that Machi thought that Hisoka doesn’t talk about the “past” (being specific about it) and how hedisplays a desire to be in control of his own life, to the point he doesn’t open up to people (which seems to be more related to his personality ratherthan lifestyle). Also, note that Hisoka is part of the main characters (not the core ones, but important enough) and yet, nothing about his past has everbeen shown or mentioned. Even with the Spiders we at least had a briefflashback of Chrollo and some explanation about the Meteor City, which can give us some ideas of how things were for those who grew up there. Heck, Togashi has told us the background of characters that are not as much part of the main plot.
With Hisoka? Nope, nada, zero. The guy may as well have fallen from thesky with his Nen activated and searching for an opponent.
It keeps going back to Hisoka’s past. Contrary to Pariston, whoseems to be a born sociopath (perhaps even a complete psychopath), this makes me think that something seems to have pushed Hisoka. Even we can’t besure of how much of what he has displayed is genuine or a façade that he keeps around others (we have rarely seen him by himself) or the levels of disordershe seems (or most certainly) has.
Is it all connected to his past? We have no means of knowing. Hehas an intense bloodthirst and is always seeking opponents. Hey, maybe he was into fighting since he was a child anyway. He seems uninterested in formingbonds with people. Has he been betrayed at some point? Has he experienced atraumatic loss? We don’t know.
However, I do think most (if not all of it) is connected tosome event, if only for how twisted Hisoka is. So, it follows that if his life hadbeen different, if he had had a safe and stable environment, he would not bethe same he is today.
Would he still be into fighting? Possibly. I, at least, find it hard to imagine Hisoka not into fighting, though he wouldn’t be that much of a sadist (even if it remained his “call”) and might have emotional bonds with others regardless of their strength (he wouldn’t judge people based on this). Depending on his “family” and other events, he might have been a man who would actually use his Nen in order to help others.
Tumblr media
Illumi
Definitely yes. No question about it. We just have to look at thewhole Zoldyck family and Illumi’s own behavior and words in several occasions. For crying out loud, Killua was chained and whipped when he returned home (itdoesn’t matter if he broke the chains and his pain tolerance is high, thegesture alone is disturbing by its very nature and the insight it gives us tothe workings of the Zoldyck as a family does not paint them in a positivelight). Besides, with Illumi being the eldest, it is very possible his trainingwas even more severe due to being only child for a while and future head of thefamily, until Silva and Kikyo decided Killua would be the better option.
Just for a note, see the rest of the Zoldyck children as well… Alluka hasbeen caged almost all her life (and later she asked Killua if everyone elsewould be happier if she was dead basically), Milluki is just as focused in the familygoals and wants to please/impress his parents (he once seemed afraid of hisfather. Respect is something, fear is another), while appearing to almost neverleave the mansion. Kalluto shares a few similarities with Illumi and is also asadist that enjoys prolonging a fight just for his own amusement… While the Zoldycksclaim to love each other and maybe do/believe so, we cannot look at them andsay they aren’t toxic people (except Killua and Alluka, who got to break thecycle and escape) or that those children are examples of a healthy upbringing.
Does it all connect to the family’s “teachings”? Yes. And the fact theyare assassins doesn’t excuse any of this. If Togashi wanted, he could have madethe Zoldycks to be as dangerous as they are while having a far more stable/lovingrelationship between each other. There is a reason why this isn’t the case.
Illumi reached a point when being… Well, the way he is, is already hisnature and for what we can see, it is entirely connected to his family and whathe has been taught or rather, molded into being. I don’t even think thereis any hope for him. If you take away the “teachings” and “assassin business”,there is nothing left in Illumi. Whoever he was or whoever he could have beenis lost forever, there is only this walking, breathing result of years of training. And we all got a glimpse that he may not be as stable as we came to believe…
If Killua hadn’t been strongenough to break away from them, he might end up the same or even worse than his“big brother”.
So, if his family was different, then he would have been different. Forone, his displays of “affection” would not be tainted by the obsession withcontrol and his love for his siblings would be genuine. Somecharacteristics of his might remain (since we know nothing of how he was orcould have been), but he would be a far more stable person and even if he wasto become an assassin, he would have more morals. He surely wouldn’t be againstKillua choosing another path in life (hell, he might even want somethingbetter for his little brother) or having friends.
Tumblr media
 Chrollo
For some reason, I always feel that Chrollo ends up standing somewherebetween the extremes that Hisoka and Illumi represent and the same applieshere, though it is more about how (little) we know of Chrollo’s life and evenhis ending goals. It is more than we know regarding Hisoka, but not as much as we know of Illumi. While writing this, I found myself oscillating between “yes”and “no”. Out of the three of them, Chrollo at times ends up being the hardestto analyze depending on the subject…
Is Chrollo a born sociopath who is using the unfairness of society as anexcuse to achieve his own personal goals and act upon his own bloodthirst orhas this unfairness pushed him into taking what he considers a necessary attitudedue to lack of any other option?
I think, in the end, there is something seriously wrong withChrollo. The things he has done are far too extreme… Perhaps he is even moretwisted than Hisoka or Illumi.
We know he started the Phantom Troupe but while we can guess the main reasonsfor that, we have yet to actually hear them and also what Chrollo hopesto ultimately achieve with his actions (due to his behavior, it seems improbablehe doesn’t have anything like that and is truly “just” a thief. In a way, itseems to be that this is a means towards a bigger end). We know he came fromMeteor City… And what has been shown of it is pretty depressing. That is not aplace that seems to offer chances of a good life, being basically a “junkyard city”and people there don’t even have official records of existence. It is a way ofsaying they there are also unwanted trash. So, we can assume that Chrollo’slife has not been easy.
And with everything we know of Chrollo directly connected to the Spider, it’shard to dissociate one from the other. What has turned him into what he istoday exactly?
Like Hisoka and Illumi, Chrollo has no care for human beings and evensaid he sees no difference between them and a puppet but does care for theother members of the Spider. And when returning home, the Troupe faced theChimera Ants, so the city is also the only other thing that matters for them ina personal level. Regardless of the sort of place that is, it is their home.Other than that, we don’t know of Chrollo’s story, parents or childhood. All we have are our own ideas and the options are many.
Honestly, just living in the Meteor City is not quite enough explanationfor his whole behavior, though: Many people go through harsh lives, awful situations, abuse or torture (be emotional, physical or mental) and do not end up like him. Hell, from what we’ve seen, Leorio came from a poorbackground, saw his friend die (when he could have been saved, just to twistthe knife) and is actually the opposite of Chrollo, someone who wants to save lives.
I’m not saying the misery of living in the Meteor City played nopart in who Chrollo is, let alone dismissing how horrible it must have been!Poverty is hell. Having to chose between buying food and paying the bills, being unable to afford medicine, those are hell enough, imagine how it musthave been in a city like that then! And sometimes, people get to the limit whenthey see no way out but to go to an extreme that they wouldn’t go otherwise.
What I mean here is that, for what Chrollo has displayed, there may verywell be something more that made him turn into someone who torturesothers with such lack of empathy or remorse. For all we know, he may haveexperienced a traumatic event or loss, perhaps not very different from Leorio’s.
I think most, if not all of the situation, end up related to the creationof the Spider but I’m unsure of how much of it is connected to Chrollo’s personality. Even people from a loving, stable and healthy environment can end up twisted and this is not the parents’ (or anyone’s) fault. You can searchin the lives for the trigger that made them into sadistic killers and you won’tfind anything. Some people are just born psychopaths.
With Illumi and Hisoka is easier to be sure due to the motivations they display, their own desires and attitudes and the information we have onthem. Chrollo’s motivations are intertwined with the Spider, so much that he hasstated that it and what it represents are above his own life. This last detailmakes it hard to consider he is using the Spider as an excuse for hisown goals, but… What if he is lying and manipulating the others? It’s not easyto tell.
Now, personally speaking, I think we need more information about him asa person and of his life before the creation of the Spider to be completelysure… Would he have been better if the circumstances of his life weredifferent? It is very possible. Would he have been a criminal anyway, if onlywith some differences? Also possible.
When he talks about the Spider, I lean towards the first option… But thereare some moments, such as when Gon asked him how he could kill people who havenothing to do with him and how Senritsu reacted to his heartbeat that make meseriously lean towards the second one…

~.~
Regrettably, he let her go; As he released his hold on Kagome, he immediately mourned, feeling uneasy, like she would bolt the second flesh left flesh. He knew her better than that, his judgement told him that she would keep her word; That did little, however, to ease the panic rising in his gut that made him want to grab hold of her and press her tighter. Taking a deep breath and leaning back, she straightened her spine, sitting in the chair by his side, close enough to seem friendly, but far enough that he would be ripping wires to reach her. Not that that would stop him.
“So…” she started, drawing out the word; perhaps an attempt to make the situation less awkward and tense, but it just made Inuyasha feel antsy. He had been adamant that she stick around for a conversation, but now that he was faced with the reality of it, he was running short on ideas. How was he going to make her stay, to make her understand when she clearly had one foot out the door? No, it was worse than that.
She was gone.
She cut her hair, must have a new life. Was she seeing anyone? She certainly wasn’t seeing him. Did she still live in the apartment, or did she move? Come to think of it, where did heeven live?
“Kagome…” He swallowed hard, her name sticking in his throat. “I don’t- I-I cant wrap my head around this.” He couldn’t bring himself to look at her, choosing instead to fix his gaze on the crisp white sheets of his bed.
“I know.” She replied sadly. “Well, I mean, I can imagine. This must be so confusing for you. From your stand point, I must be coming off as really cold.” She bit her bottom lip before continuing. “I did try to see you. I’m really glad you’re okay. Gods, I must sound like a broken record.” She smiled a bit, not enough, not a true smile.
“Its just good to hear you.” He returned her smile, small and gentle. “I woke up and I couldn’t find you. I kept calling for you but…” Inuyasha shrugged, finally meeting her eyes. “I think they’ve got riot gear ready at the nurses station.” He ran his right hand through his short locks, surprised once again at the choppy buzz cut. “I kind of had a meltdown.”
“You? Lost your temper? That doesn’t sound like you at all.” She teased.
“Heh, well if you ever wake up with Miroku’s face staring you down I think you’d lose it too.” This evoked a laugh from her and he felt pride in that. It was a small victory, but one none the less. “Fair point.” She conceded. He had asked her to stay, and it wasn’t to talk about his perverted best friend. It was weighing on his chest, this unspoken weight. He needed to get through to her.
Inuyasha looked at her, amber eyes burning seriously. “I want to come home, Kagome.”  He could hear her breath hitch, his predator senses caught the way her mouth twitched.
“I-I can’t- You can’t.” She started, clearly startled by his request. “We, we don’t live together anymore.” She managed. “You moved out… I think you might even live with Kikyo, I’m not sure.” Kagome took a deep steadying breath then pouted her lips. “I think this is a conversation you need to have with her.”
Inuyasha sat quietly for a minute, letting the silence settle over them. Closing his eyes, he shook his head, as if trying to piece together the broken pieces in his mind, a jumble of jigsaw pieces he couldn’t make heads or tails of.
“You know, the last thing I remember… is apple picking.” He smiled, watching Kagome carefully. Fall must have been quite some time ago. “Christ, how long ago was that? We made the plans like, a month in advance, you were so excited to make a damn pie and get cider. But then it- it rained and- fuck.” The dog demon frowned, his last memory did not have the happiest ending, although according to the rest of the fucking world, there were worst stories he could remember. At least they were together in this one.
“Yeah, I was really disappointed.” She nodded, confirming his story. “But then you got our umbrellas, and dug out our left over ponchos from when we visited Niagra Falls, those really gaudy neon green ones.” She laughed a little, remembering for him. “We went apple picking in the rain, and got like, 3 huge bags of them. The owner thought we were crazy. And when we got back to the car the roads were so bad-“
“That we couldn’t drive.” He finished for her, a cocky smile revealing his sharp fangs. “I thought it would be fine, but you were nervous. Fuck, you went down on me just to make me just to make me pull over and park the car. That was very sneaky, Higurashi.”
Kagome raised her brows, jaw slightly slack. “It was dangerous.” She said.
“Keh, I’m not complaining.” He smiled, and Kagome hated that she felt her stomach flutter, that he still had this effect on her. “The car really amplified your screams when you-“
“Shh!” Kagome jumped up from her seat, covering the hanyous mouth with her hands, nervously looking around to see if any nurses were ease dropping. With lightning speed, he licked her palm, causing her to yelp and move away. She hissed his name, although she wasn’t angry, not really. It felt so natural, to play with her like this, to egg her on.
“I don’t believe we broke up.” He said, each word ruining the spell of their previous moment. Inuyasha shook his head in disbelief. “I can’t.” He swallowed hard. “I love you, so damn much.”
“I don’t know what you expect me to say to that.” She said angrily. “I know time went in reverse for you, but Inuyasha, you moved on. You made a new life with Kikyo.”
“My life is with you!” He yelled, causing the machine to beep once more. “Fuck!” He cursed, glancing in its direction, then back at her. He needed to calm down; Kagome was a patient woman, Gods knows more patient than he deserved, but flipping out now would only drive her away, he knew that much. He apologized, feeling embarrassed, torn between wanting to crawl under his bed and rip his hair out “I’ll be leaving in two days if I keep this piece of shit from reacting.” He motioned to the monitor. “I want to come home. Please, let me come home.”
For a moment, she just looked at him, the man who was once so strong that he would lift her up without exerting the slightest bit of effort. He looked so desperate, and small even, wearing the hospital johnny in the railed bed. The last time she had seen him between the sheets he had looked invincible, like a warrior, his body pure sin, chiseled like some Greek statue, almost too good to actually exist. She wished she could go back, like he had, and crawl in with him, drink him in a little longer, love him one more time. But that wasn’t reality, not anymore. It was tempting, Gods knew it was testing her will to not give in; but the man before her was a relic of the past, and as soon as he was caught up to speed, he would be gone.
And that was something she couldn’t go through, not a second time.
Kagome shook her head, the salt from her tears blurring her vision. “I can’t. I’m sorry.”
~.~
“So, how did your meeting with Kagome go?” Mirkoku asked, pulling the arm chair close to the hospital bed. He reached over, handing his best friend a large brown paper bag, a container of hot ramen steaming inside. Inuyasha grunted his thanks, eagerly opening his prize. Hospital food was shit, and Myoga’s Ramen House had no rivals; the smell alone had his stomach rumbling, a deeper hunger than he realized he had.
“Fucking depressing.” He replied between slurps. “And confusing. But, alright, I guess, considering.” He sighed, closing his eyes. “I don’t know.”  Miroku raised his brows. “Alright, eh? That must mean there’s some hope. I was surprised she even came at all.”
“I didn’t even know I needed hope, until you blissfully informed me that my life was over.” He eyed Miroku, like it was somehow his fault that his life was in shambles. “Her just showing up was great.” He swallowed. “The rest…”  Inuyasha waived his hands at a loss for words. How could he sum up this fucked up situation? “I asked her if I could come home.”
“Which, of course, she said no to.” He scoffed, truly making Inuyasha feel like he was crazy for even asking. “You-“
“-Don’t live together. Yeah, I fuckin’ got it.” Inuyasha covered his face with his hand, rubbing his temples as he did so. Miroku always brought a certain element of stress to his life, but this was the first time ramen was losing its flavor because of him.
“Maybe it’s time to let her go.” He said sympathetically. “She has her own life, you know? Since you broke up she-“
Inuyasha spread his fingers, peeking at Miroku as he spoke. “Do you want me to beat the crap out of you?” He asked. Miroku rolled his eyes and clicked his tongue.
“Such harsh words for the man who is taking you in. Are you sure you want to threaten your care giver, Inuyasha?”
“Its only temporary.” He said, sitting up straighter. “I’ll get her back.”
Miroku laughed in disbelief. “No offense, but you don’t even remember how you lost her. You don’t have her number, or know where she lives or-“
“Feh, I’ll find her.” He tapped his nose. “She won’t be hard to track down. She can’t get away from me that easily.”
Miroku blinked once, twice before he narrowed his eyes. “Are you- Are you openly admitting that you’re going to stalk your ex-girlfriend?”
“Fiancé.” He corrected. “and as far as I’m concerned, there’s no ‘ex’. We’re just… postponing wedding plans right now.”
“You are truly delusional, my friend. But you know- I’ve never seen you more optimistic.” Miroku rested his palm against the hanyous forehead, as if checking his temperature.  “Do they need to check your head again? Are you sure you’re okay to come home with me?” Inuyasha pushed away Miroku’s hand and scoffed.
“I’m not delusional. I love her- welove each other. It’ll work out.”
Miroku squinted at the silver haired dog demon. “Who even are you?”
“Hey, I need you to do me a favor.” Inuyasha stated, more of a demand and less of an request.
“Ah, there’s my pushy best friend. Back to normal.” Miroku leaned back in his chair. “Me taking you into my humble home isn’t enough?”
“I need you to go to Kikyo’s house and get my shit.” He answered.
“Excuse me?” The dark haired man balked. “Hell no. That’s your drama.”
“Listen,” He started, “I’m going to need my stuff. The nurses told me that I don’t even have an outfit to go home in, and as much as I know you admire my ass, I doubt everyone on the street is going be as appreciative.” The hanyou rubbed the back of his neck, feeling more than irritated.
“Fine, I’ll bring you some clothes.” He answered snappily. “Why don’t you just ask Kikyo yourself? Didn’t she say she was coming in today?”
Inuyasha waved him off. “I put her on the no entry list.”
“You what?” He questioned.
“No entry. As in ‘Crazy life ruining ex-girlfriends from high school are not welcome within 50 feet of my hospital room. The last thing I need is Kagome thinking I’m talking to her. Besides, she makes my blood pressure spike.”
“So you had her banned? Without even talking to her? Inuyasha she’s your girlfriend.”
“The last time I can remember having a conversation with her was fucking high school.” Inuyasha grunted. “I don’t need to explain my decisions to her. And shes not my damn girlfriend.”
“Right. You doknow you live with her?” Miroku folded his arms across his chest.
“Which is exactly why I need you to get my shit. I can’t give Kagome the wrong impression.” Miroku leaned back in shock. Inuyasha was so sure of himself that his nonsense almost sounded sane.
“This is an enormously bad idea.” He argued. “You’ve been dating Kikyo for months.”
Inuyasha eyed him cautiously, then leaned forward with a whisper. “But was I happy?” The hanyou asked, his voice low, afraid. “Did I seemhappy?” Even though his gut told him the answer, that there was no possible way that he could have found peace with anyone but his fiancé, he had to ask.
Miroku pressed his lips together in a tight line before answering, blue eyes searching amber. He was cautious when he spoke. “Honestly, I don’t know. I didn’t see you much. I figured it was new love bliss.” He shrugged. “But anytime I tried to talk to you about it, you shut down the topic real quick.” He looked down, letting his unconfirmed theories of his best friends unhappiness settle. “You really think you can get her back?” He asked.
“I haveto.” He said seriously. “She’s the most important thing in my life. Its like…” He breathed deeply before finishing. “Its like I was born to be with her.” He looked away at his admission, a slight blush gracing his cheeks.
Miroku screwed up his nose at Inuyasha’s tender confession, a side of him he had never seen before, and honestly, could do without. But maybe it was just that he had never seen his best friend desperate. They had always been a good couple, a great one actually, the right mix of playful and loving, the kind of relationship that seemed steady, too sure to crack. Apparently, the loss of Kagome was enough to make him sink. “Fine,” He said, throwing up his hands in surrender. “I’ll get your things.” Inuyasha gave a quick nod of appreciation.
“This is going to be epically awkward.” Miroku sighed. “I can’t believe I’m going to do this. I’m basically breaking up with Kikyo for you.” He eyed Inuyasha crossly. “How did I get sucked in to doing your dirty work?”
Inuyasha tapped his head. “Brain damage, remember?” He gave his friend a slick smile.
“Ohhh, that excuse is already getting old.”

⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯
Kagome and Inuyasha stayed with Miroku and Sango's till after lunch. But eventually, Kagome remembered that Kaede had wanted to speak with her and had asked her to return.
"I think it's time we should be heading back to Kaede's," she said aloud to the room.
"So soon?" Sango didn't try to hide the disappointment from her voice.
"Yeah, Kaede wanted to talk to me about something and asked me to come back."
"Ah, okay, well, will we see you tomorrow?" Sango asked hopefully.
Miroku smiled at his wife. It had been hard for her to be without her closest friend all these years. If for no other reason than the happiness that Sango felt at having Kagome returned to her, Miroku wanted to celebrate the young Miko's return.
"Of course, Sango!" Kagome moved to give Sango a swift hug and a reassuring smile before she and Inuyasha waved at the rest of the family, calling out some quick goodbyes before heading out the door and back into the street.
But the walk back to Kaede's was nothing like their earlier walk had been. Now it was the middle of the day and life in the village was in full swing. Men and women came and went along the dirt road, as children ran and played in front of the homes that they passed.
And here and there, Kagome could also see small groups of men and women huddled together, speaking in hushed tones. She sighed, clearly the gossip and whispers of her return had spread like wildfire.
Sure everyone was very polite, calling out greetings to the great Lord Inuyasha and Lady Kagome, but it was the slack-jawed staring that really did Kagome in, until the now-legendary Priestess began feeling very much like a freak on a side-show stage.
'I've walked through this village hundreds of times before,' she thought. 'But it was never like this.'
Before, she'd been something of an oddity, with her strange future clothing and the fact that they all knew she was Kikyo's reincarnation. But this? The unadulterated awe at her very presence was just too much for Kagome. It felt wrong.
"Who's that, mama?" Kagome heard a little girl ask as she pointed toward the pair.
"Hush, child, and do not point!" It was an older woman, likely the child's grandmother spoke. "Ōji-sama and Miko-hime will hear you!"
Inuyasha could smell Kagome's discomfort as he watched her shrink in on herself. He stopped walking.
"Hey."
"Come on, Inuyasha, let's just hurry and get back." She tried to grab his hands and hurry him along, but it was like trying to hurry a mountain. He didn't budge.
"Hey." He said again, trying to get her attention enough for her to look at him.
"What?" She finally looked him in the eye.
"Remember what I said yesterday? You just gotta ignore it. You can't let it get to you. You're still you, just like I'm still me. It doesn't matter what they think."
His gaze bore into her, willing her to accept the truth of his words.
"I know it's just… When I came back, I wasn't expecting everything to be so different, but now I have all of this new power and the people here think of me as some kind of living legend… But I didn't ask for this." She signed before continuing. "Last night, in your– our hut, when I said that I didn't care what the villagers said or thought about us, I guess I was expecting anger or bigotry. I wasn't expecting this."
She waved her hand as though to encompass everything, then gave Inuyasha a small smile before continuing, "Sometimes I forget that you're a prince."
He growled at that. "I ain't no prince."
"But you are, Inuyasha. It doesn't matter that your mother's family cast you out or that your brother rejected you. You've always carried yourself with the nobility and honour of the royal houses that bore you. That sense of honour and the strength behind it is just one of the many reasons why I fell in love with you. Not because it makes you a prince, but because it makes you you."
She was thoughtful a moment before continuing. "Part of me always wondered if that was why, after a while, Sesshōmaru stopped trying to actually kill you. Maybe, hanyou or not, he realized that you were an honour to your father's blood."
Inuyasha really wasn't sure what to think of Kagome's words. He felt pride swell within him at the faith she had in him, as though seeing himself through her eyes for the first time. And he wasn't so dense that he hadn't noticed the change in Sesshōmaru , but he hadn't really given much thought as to what might have been behind it.
He shook his head though, "I doubt it. I think any change in that bastard has more to do with Rin than it does with me."
Kagome considered this. "Maybe. Maybe not. Or maybe it's a bit of both–"
"Lord Inuyasha! Lord Inuyasha!" Kagome was stopped from saying anything else by a man's voice approaching. She looked up.
"That man, he looks familiar…"
"He should," said Inuyasha. "That's Rikichi, the village headman. I'm sure you met him at some point during the hunt."
Kagome thought back. Yes, she had met this man several times, though she hadn't known he was headman at the time. In fact… "I think– I think he was there when I came out of the well the first time."
"That would make sense," Inuyasha agreed. "That's kinda his job, after all, overseeing stuff."
Inuyasha couldn't say he liked Rikichi much, though he was an honourable man who held his position in the village with great respect. He knew that Rikichi valued Kaede's wisdom and experience and had often followed her lead when it came to dealing with their Pack during the shard hunt – heck, it was probably why he had invited them all to settle here – but a headman was still a headman. It was their job to uphold the traditions and laws and to oversee the smooth proceedings of life within a village. Inuyasha knew from his decades of experience that it usually meant that most headmen were, if not closed-minded, then at the very least very conservative in their opinions… And Rikichi was no exception.
Finally reaching them, he stopped and gave them a bow and a good-natured smile. "Good day to you, Lord Inuyasha. I see that the rumours are true and that the great Lady Kagome has returned to us!"
Rikichi had been there in the field beside the well when the great Miko had been pulled into the Meido. He'd seen the Bone-Eater's Well disappear only to reappear several days later. When he'd asked, Lord Inuyasha had said that the Miko was safe, but the headman still had many unanswered questions, and it was his job to be informed in all things that affected his village.
Rikichi began, "May I ask, Lady Kagome, how did you escape the Meido? We thought you lost to the underworld!"
Kagome glanced at Inuyasha. She wasn't impressed by these pointed questions. The villagers knew that she travelled through the well. However, they didn't know that she travelled through time, and she wasn't about to explain one of the most painful experiences of her life to an all-but-total stranger.
"Well… Inu– Inuyasha saved me."
"I see, I see. And where you have been all these years."
Kagome seemed taken aback by his bluntness. "Uh, me? I've been… home… with my family."
Rikichi pressed on. "Your home? Is that where the well takes you when you jump into its depths and disappear?"
Inuyasha started to growl. He knew exactly why Kagome was hesitant to answer Rikichi's questions. "Look Rikichi–" He began, but Kagome cut him off with a gentle hand on his arm.
"I thank you for being concerned about what happened to me and where I've been, Rikichi-san, but all that matters now is that I am fine and I am here… and here is where I intend to stay." She hoped that the finality of her statement was enough to stop the curious headman from asking any more unwanted questions.
Her statement seemed to catch the headman's attention, "Is this true, Lady, that you will be settling permanently in our village? What a blessed event this is! I would ask for your blessing that we might prepare a great feast in celebration of your return if you would allow us."
Kagome gathered her frayed nerves. After this morning's announcement fiasco, she was the one who'd demanded she be allowed to announce their engagement to everyone else. She glanced at Inuyasha before clearing her throat and continuing.
"Thank you, Rikichi-san, for the kind offer and for your warm welcome. But might I suggest that you delay your offered feast for six days?"
"Eh?" Rikichi seemed confused. "Why delay?"
"Well, in six days time, it will be my 19th birthday. It will also be the anniversary of the first time I ever set foot in this village, the day I released Inuyasha from the Goshinboku… and… well… Inuyasha and I have chosen that to also be the day of our wedding."
Rikichi was dumbstruck at her words. He'd known that the hanyou lord and the young Miko were close comrades and travelling companions, and he'd sensed that Inuyasha had sorely missed the girl when she hadn't returned even after the well had reappeared, but he had not been expecting this.
"But… But…" He stammered. "You are the Shikon Miko!"
"Yes?" Kagome didn't see his point.
"Mikos do not marry." Rikichi shook his head.
After the stress of his earlier questioning, Kagome found his presumptuous statement highly annoying. "Oh yeah? Well, this Miko has every intention of marrying."
Rikichi didn't seem to take the hint, "But is not your power tied to your…ahem… purity?"
Kagome felt her face turning red, though not in embarrassment this time. She could have the patience of a saint, but when she came to the end of it? Well, the number of Inuyasha shaped craters that lay scattered around Edo could attest to what usually happened next. None of this was any of his business, but somehow he was weighing in with an opinion about her love life?
'Oh, HELL no.' she thought.
The power of Kagome's aura swirled around her slightly, just enough to lift her hair and give her body a shimmering pink glow.
She began, her voice rising in pitch the longer she spoke. "I don't see how that is any of your business, Rikichi-san, headman or not. And even if it was, even if being with Inuyasha meant that I'd lose every drop of power that I have, I'd still make that choice a thousand times over! He is the only reason I returned to this place and I intend to marry him six days from now, whether you like it or not!"
Her aura swirled even more, the pink glow would likely now be visible to anyone, whether they had spiritual powers or not.
"Kagome…" Inuyasha tried to warn her what was happening, but his throat closed when he looked at her face and realized that her eyes had been engulfed and were also glowing a bright pink.
Kagome glared hard at the man who had insulted her. She felt a bit weightless, as though she might, at any moment, start floating up off the ground. It was almost as though she could look inside Rikichi… look right through him.
"Kagome!" Inuyasha finally grabbed her arm, singeing his hand slightly. But it was enough to release her from whatever strange trance she'd begun falling into.
She panted, taking a few deep breaths, before biting out the word, "What?"
Inuyasha gave her a strange look before Rikichi finally recovered from his shock enough to speak. He broke the silence with a faltering voice. "It is as you say, Lady Kagome. I apologize for any offence I may have caused. Good day to you both."
Rikichi turned and quickly walked away from the couple. The young Miko was clearly even more powerful than the stories of the final battle with Naraku had ever let on. He had never in his life experienced a reiki aura of that much intensity and power. No, Rikichi would not make the mistake of questioning her or her authority again. Better to have her as a powerful ally and member of the community than as an enemy, curiosity be damned.
A number of people had stopped with curiosity to watch the exchange between the great Miko and the headman, but they hadn't expected this. They all silently stared at Kagome, as though none of them were willing to even breathe.
Finally, as her rage subsided, she felt their combined gazes on her and began to squirm uncomfortably, looking around at the gathering crowd.
After a moment more, she looked at Inuyasha, and in a quiet voice only he could hear, she asked, "Why are they staring at like that? I wasn't that rude was I? Do you think it was something I said?"

Ch10 - Operation Grandpup Drop (A SitBoy Discord Crack Fic)
Chapter 10:
Warning this story is M bordering NSFW
Walter20508/28/2019
Later that evening, Sesshomaru and Hojo arrived at the Higurashi Shrine. Hojo had gently tried to inquire as to the purpose of this visit, only to be told that all would be revealed in due time. Upon their arrival however, they came across the sight of a giant white furry snake, for a lack of a better description, coiled around and dragging an unconscious Kagome across the shrine grounds towards the woods nearby, a path leading back to the dirt beneath her open bedroom window.
Sesshomaru and Hobomoko made eye contact with one another as the two navy men walked up to the strange sight, the two of them not moving as each sized up the other and their presence here.
Fifteen minutes later, Kagome opened her eyes to find herself on the living room couch. The last thing she had remembered was snuggling up against something soft, furry, and warm when it had suddenly encased her in a squeezing vice grip like an anaconda. She had opened her eyes to see nothing but white fur before she ran out of breath and embraced the darkness once more. Now she found herself sitting up on the couch, with Hojo seated nearby in a navy uniform, someone clearly his superior sitting next to him, Mama sitting on the other side of the room, along with something that looked like Sesshomaru's old pelt tied up into a knot in the corner.
Consternation came across her features as she felt a familiar presence in the room. Her gaze traveled until she settled on the older naval officer, where her miko insight let her see underneath the disguise to the demon present.
 "Sesshomaru?"

"So it's true then. Kagome," her mother looked a bit... exhausted. "When were you going to tell me about your fiancee?" Kagome blinked back at her, sure there was something miscommunicated somewhere. "I'm not sure why you thought to hide it from me?" Mrs. Higurashi took the tissue hojo offered and dabbed her eyes, "I'm a pretty easy going mom, even if it's because your pregnant out of wedlock, I'd be happy for you." She sighed, "When did I break your trust for you to keep this from me?" ... Kagome tilted her head at her mom, glanced over at the two men, and pinched the bridge of her nose, "Who said I'm engaged?" She followed her mother's gaze to both men, "Hojos been asking for my blessing for years, but his superior here is the who says he won your heart." Sesshomaru smirked, "Haven't I Kagome?" She blushed.
 Walter20508/29/2019
After explaining the situation in depth and getting mostly caught up on events, Kagome looked to Sesshomaru somewhat askance.
"So, are we still a thing?" asked Sesshomaru with a raised eyebrow.
"I don't know that we were ever a 'thing', Sesshomaru. I had reservations about you five hundred years ago and one of them was that you would discard me like a piece of trash after you got the pups you wanted out of me. Now hearing that you discarded mokomoko, something that had been a part of you for hundreds of years, just because it was suddenly an obstacle in your path to attaining greater power and authority, has done nothing to soothe my fears on said subject," replied Kagome with a skeptical side glance with her arms folded over her chest.
"Such matters might best be talked about behind closed doors for the two of you. What I'm interested in right now is the fate of Kagome's three best friends?" asked Hojo as he leaned forward. Sesshomaru sighed with a look of regret crossing his features before it was replaced by his cold mask.
"We rescued Eri and Ayumi from Naraku's grasp but couldn't find Yuka before he disappeared. Later we discovered that he had mated Yuka but with her consent after days of arguments and discussions. Freed from the influence of the Shikon No Tama and then coming under the influence of someone like Yuka, then seeing the birth of natural children of his own, changed Naraku over time. Yuka died of natural causes at age 63 and is buried in Edo with Eri (aged 67) and Ayumi (aged 69)," explained Sesshomaru, before continuing.
"Ayumi eventually married Miroku after Sango succumbed to disease and helped to raise their children together. Finally, Yuka took after you very strongly and so to appease mother, I mated her and gave mother a total of six hanyou pups," finished Sesshomaru, leaving everyone sitting in shocked silence.
 imjaneees08/29/2019
Kagome scratched the back of her head, "Wow. So much happened while I was gone." So much action, to bad she missed all the crazy things that happened. She could have gotten a good laugh, she was sure. Taht got her thinking.
"I guess this means I'm the only one who never got to be with anyone. Figures. Oh well, gotta find me some single guy out there then. Kind of going to be tough though, my standards in men just got a little too high. Or maybe I should just stay single for the rest of my life to save myself the trouble. Yeah, being immune to time might be a bad thing if I outlive anyone anyway. Got enough heartbreak to last me ten lifetimes. Single life it is, then," she mused out loud, nodding to herself at her new life plan. She was looking forward to a drama free life.
 Slayer08/29/2019
"So if you will excuse me?" Kagome picked up poor hobomoko gave him a little zap to make him behave and walked up stairs to the shower. The once fluffy pristine  white fur was now matted and brown with street muck. She would wash it and return it to its former glory and wear it everywhere just to piss off Sesshomaru. Honestly she was a little hurt by his seemingly dismissive  attitude  toward herself and his former mate one of her good friends. Did he ever love her friend or was it to just give his mother grandbabies. Kagome knew it was silly but she had really started to lean toward being Sesshomaru's mate now she just didnt think she could do it. Maybe one of the other youkai was still alive Kouga maybe or Shippo.
She took her new mikomoko and soaked it in a tub of warm soapy water. She used her wide tooth comb to start working out the tangles  and mats.
 Stormie Like Weather08/29/2019
Seeing as how she refused to play second fiddle to anyone again, and that Sesshomaru had at one point professed his 'love' for her, and he had to have realized she never died just went to her time, since he wasn't a complete idiot, Kagome felt very much betrayed by how easily he had tossed that so called 'love' aside and not only that but fucked her friend, ugh. He ended up being just as shitty as they all happened to be. Kagome began to angrily cry as she cleaned and beautified her new Miko Moko. Not just for her feelings, but the fact that her friends had all passed. Their families must have been so sad and disrupted by their sudden disappearance with no resolution. Yuka... did she know that SHE was the one set to be with Sesshomaru? And what the hell did she mean "took after" her, ugh. Like she had turned into the Kikyo for Yuka? Kami. Everything sucked. She wiped her eyes. All the men she'd met thus far were disgusting, betraying, jerks.
Suddenly Mokomoko began to shake violently. Blinding light erupted from the fibers. Kagome had to shield herself from the light. Something touched her wet cheek, and she dropped her hands, opened her eyes and gasped. There before her was the exact replica of Sesshomaru, complete with a new mokomoko wrapped around his junk.
 Slayer08/29/2019
"Excuse me but who the heck do you think you are and give me back my mokomoko!" Kagome reached out and snatched the furry white fluff from the Sesshomaru copy.  "I am done with all of you damned youkai. I am not going to let any of you ever hurt me again! OUT OUT OUT!" She pushed the Sesshomaru copy out of her bathroom and into the hall naked.
 Stormie Like Weather08/29/2019
The newly formed Sesshomaru rolled his eyes and huffed, "It is not I that am the copy Miko." He glared down the hall, "Do you truly think that mockery downstairs is I, Sesshomaru?"
His voice was filled with vengeance.
Kagome peeked out the crack of the door up at his angry glare, "What are you saying?"
"I've been trapped as Mokomoko since you were transported to the future, that demon downstairs is the replacement the fool that trapped me has put into my place."
She narrowed her eyes, "How do I know that's the truth?"
Sesshomaru's eyes flashed red, his claws flexed, poison dripped through the floor, "Watch me kill it and you will discover the truth for yourself."
As Sesshomaru bounded down the stairs, dangly bits jangling, he pounced on the fake version of himself and caught him by the neck. Suddenly the form crumbled into pieces of clay pottery.
 Slayer08/29/2019
The fact that the miko had essentially claimed him while in the form of MokoMoko was not lost on Sesshomaru. It seemed that the little woman had developed some feeling for him.
And he had waited the long 500 years in the form of a pelt just for a chance to be with her. He would not let her go again.
 imjaneees08/29/2019
High above, the goddess glared at her brother for what seemed to be the nth time.
Tsukiyomi let out a nervous laugh, "At least I fixed it, right? Incredibly thoughtful of me to plan ahead, no?"
 revang08/29/2019
Before Kagome had made it two steps out of the bathroom, the sounds of shouts and screams erupted from the living room. By the time she made it downstairs, her mother had fainted, and it seemed Hojo had tried to retaliate against the man who he saw kill his superior officer, because Sesshoumaru had him by the neck, dangling above the ground.
Kagome grabbed the daiyoukai’s arm. “Sesshoumaru stop! Everyone let’s just calm down and talk this out. And you Sesshoumaru put on some clothes!” she huffed and grabbed the quilt from the couch to throw at him.
 Stormie Like Weather08/29/2019
The blanket slid off his toned body and on to the floor. "Clothes are the least of my worries." He returned his glare to the younger human man, "Tell me who you work for. Who dared to trap I, Sesshomaru in my fur."
At the mention of his fur, Kagome held it possessively to her chest, "It's my fur."
Sesshomaru's brows pinched as he looked over his shoulder at her, "That discussion comes later."
She pouted, holding the fur tighter. It wriggled around and curled over her shoulder. "Fine, but you need to put Hojo down. He isn't a part of this!"
 Slayer08/29/2019
"And no It's mine I claimed it it's mine now." And Kagome did something that was childish and silly but it seemed to work she licked mokomoko. "See I licked it so it's mine."
"I see so licking something makes it yours does it?" Sesshomaru put Hojo down and stalked over to the wild little miko. "And if I lick you?"
 Stormie Like Weather08/29/2019
"Y-you already have..."
 imjaneees08/29/2019
Flustered, Kagome clutches the fur to her even closer, "B-but it doesn't work on people! So HAH! You don't own me!" she felt an odd sense of dejavu in saying those four words. How many times has she said it back in the feudal era? People were cavemen back there.
 Slayer08/29/2019
"I think you want to be this Sesshomaru's miko. I think that's why you clutch so tightly to this Sesshomaru's pelt." He leaned down and licked from her collar bone up to behind her ear.
 imjaneees08/29/2019
Face beat red, Kagome let's out a squeak, ducks and places a good couch between her and the orally fixated youkai, "I don't belong to ANYONE! And it's my fur! Mine!"
 Slayer08/29/2019
Suddenly the fur wraps tightly around her from her knees to her elbows holding her in place. "Oh yes it's yours all right little miko all yours."
 Stormie Like Weather08/29/2019
After 500years of forced celibacy, Sesshomaru decided finding the culprit to his prison could wait and picked up Kagome bridal style.
Hojo quivered beside her stirring mother.
"Boy, you will transfer all my counterpart's fund into Kagome's accounts."
"Y-yes, sir!" Hojo floundered, "I mean no!"
"You dare tell me no? After having the knowledge that the clay fake hurt your school friends, including Kagome?"
"I mean, yes!" Hojo flushed, "I'll do it."
"Good." Sesshomaru nuzzled Kagome's cheek and took her into the sky, "You know, you have licked this one as well, and your property is in definite need of your care."
 Slayer08/29/2019
Sesshomaru flew naked high above the bustling streets of modern-day Tokyo. He wanted to find one of the many natural hot springs that dotted the lands in the feudal era, but it seemed that humanity had spread far and wide and much of the natural splendor of the land was now ruined. He flew farther and farther away from the settlements of the humans until he found a sizable forest area.
 Stormie Like Weather08/29/2019
A lone dirt road led to an abandoned bath house at a natural spring. It looked as if a tree had fallen on the main building and they had not yet begun repairs.
Kagome peeled mokomoko from her mouth and huffed, "You know, all you had to do was ask me to come with you."
"Hn." He sighed, "I require less dramatics for the time, this way seemed easiest to get you away. Time away from the insufferable pests of the world would do wonders for us both. Care to join me?"
 Walter20508/29/2019
Kagome started to answer, but then paused. There was a strange buzzing sound in the back of her head, looking around she saw a sutra of some kind on a boulder lining the hot spring. Walking over to it, she touched it and felt the aura of the fake Sesshomaru from earlier, along with voices crying about why he was doing this and to please stop. Eyes narrowing in determination, she channeled her miko powers and released the seal.
Beings started pouring out of the boulder and forming into their regular selves. All of the people she once knew, Shippou, Sango, Miroku, their kids, Ayumi, Ayame, Eri, Yuka, everyone came pouring out of the formerly sealed boulder. Kagome's eyes went wide and tears started forming as Sesshomaru came up next to her and wrapped a hand around her shoulder.
"I knew that five hundred years ago the fake copy of me had progressively captured and sealed away everyone associated with me before creating more fake copies to replace them, I knew the vicinity of where they had been sealed away but only you were capable of finding the exact location and undoing the seal. This Sesshomaru thanks you," said the normally stoic demon lord in an appreciative tone as he leaned down to kiss Kagome's forehead.
As people finally stopped appearing, Sesshomaru called out to the group, "No one go anywhere. I know it seems like it was just yesterday you all were sealed away, but some time has passed and things will need to be explained to you. Kagome, Eri, Yuka, and Ayumi will be the best ones to explain this time to you," said Sesshomaru before standing back and letting Kagome talk to them.
Then it would be time for tearful reunions.
 Stormie Like Weather08/29/2019
Just as the hugs began, Shippou and Rin both pointed at Sesshomaru's private parts, the fox's finger shook, "Why aren't you wearing any clothes?!"
Sango gasped. Miroku alread had one layer of kimono off, "I had no idea in the future clothing is optional!"
 Slayer08/29/2019
"Clothing is not optional Sesshomaru just seems to have a fetish for being naked." Kagone blushed bright red. "He should really put on some clothing...."
 Walter20508/29/2019
"Hnnn, fine," muttered Sesshomaru before he was enveloped within the redness of his demonic aura. When it faded, he was fully attired once more, but this time he was dressed in a sailor fuku, with the exception that the skirt was replaced with a normal hakama, alas one that was the same shade of green. Kagome turned beet red upon seeing him dressed like that.
"Sesshomaru!?! What is that outfit?" she stammeringly asked out of pure mortification.
"What? Miko, is this not what everyone wears in the present? I had taken by the attire of you and your friends that this is what everyone wears in the present," Sesshomaru fired back with narrowed eyes over her reaction.
 Stormie Like Weather08/29/2019
When Sesshomaru turned to Kagome, Miroku took his chance. Reaching out for the soft, ripe, supple...
"Kyyyya!"
THWACK!
Sango snarled, stalking off with her children in tow, "Thanks for releasing us Kagome, we will speak with Eri about this time period far away from the scoundrel."
Kagome wasn't sure if she was talking about her husband or Sesshomaru, who was currently pretending not to notice his skirt flying upward as a swift breeze blew by.
 Taki 滝08/29/2019
Up high, gazing down upon the reunion of family and friends, the kami decided that all the humans needed some sort of reward and balancing to live alongside their yokai family. After all 420 finished a complimentary hookah and placed their suggestions into a divine hat, Amaterasu drew a slip at random, rolled her eyes, and waved her hand.
Golden mist floated down to earth and encompassed all the ningen. And before their very eyes, all the humans glowed with a divine golden glow and grew great golden wings.
A slip of paper poofed into existence. Sesshomaru caught it, read it, and raised an eyebrow.
"Yo humans, congrats you get to live as long as your yokai buddies. We drew random lots on the reward and O-Koumori-kami-sama won the draw. You're all Golden Bats"
Kagome flexed a wing and fell over.
 Walter20508/29/2019
Hours later saw Kagome lying on her belly on her bed back home at Higurashi Shrine, sighing in frustration as her wings continued to occasionally beat without her recognizance. Such annoyances that they were proving to be that she didn't even register her door opening and closing but did feel and recognize the powerful hands that rested on her back.
"Sesshomaru?" she questioned without looking back.
"Hnnn," was his response as his hands started rubbing up and down her back, kneading the newly form muscle groups that had invaded her body to form the new wings. Relaxation and feel good pleasure coursed through her as his ministrations did much to relieve the stiffness and pain she was feeling.
"Ooh...Aaaaahhh....Ufff...what are you...hoo...doing?" Kagome staggered out in between noises of appreciation for his miracle hands.
"Helping you to transition to your new form. Your brain is overloaded with the new nerve and muscle systems and so is activating them unnecessarily, straining the muscles. I'm helping them to relax again," he explained as he settled onto a sitting position on the bed.
"That's fine and all but what about this desire for blood now that it's nighttime?" she asked softly but sarcastically.
In response he rolled her onto her side before cutting his arm and holding it against her mouth. She was hesitant but once she smelled it she was sucking greedily onto his cut with reckless abandon. For his part he took the opportunity to explore her body and see what else might've changed with the bat blessing; It had been five hundred years since they had performed oral on each other in the Sky Castle and even though he was under the influence of Inucense back then he was longing for another 'tasting' as it was.

A Rainy September
Summary:  For the majority of her life Kagome has been the underdog. With a twin sister that hates her, a father that is presumed dead, a brother that's always getting into fights and a mistake from the past meeting at once, it can only mean one thing; hell for this little miko. Add into the equation that it's senior year and you have one hell of a roller-coaster ride about to begin. Please enjoy this updating story and feel free to leave any comments, suggestions, questions or even critiques!
Chapter Two: Behind the Scenes
"Yo," Kouga's deep voice spoke up suddenly, "didn't Kagome say this place had live music every night?" His sharp eyes were roaming the now filled up cafe as he took a few sips of his black coffee.
Inuyasha was surprisingly the one to respond, "Yeah, makes you wonder what poor bastards the wench is able to trick into playing here?" His sharp canines glinted against the beams of the soft lights to illuminate his playful grin.
The chatter in the building quieted down considerably as soon as Kagome walked onto the miniature platform.
She was dressed in a black high-waisted skirt which ended halfway down her thighs, a pair of simple grey vans, and a matching grey halter top that had the frilled sleeves falling off her pale shoulders. Her raven locks were trapped within a messy bun atop her head now.
A smile naturally found its way to Kagome's lips as she spoke, "Hello ladies, gentlemen and flea infested pups," her hazel eyes landed on the seated forms of Inuyasha and Kouga. Her little nickname had the majority of the audience chuckling, Sango and Miroku included.
"I'm guessing you all are curious as to who I'm introducing tonight, right?" When the patrons began to clap loudly in confirmation, Kagome couldn't stop the proud grin from stretching across her lips.
"Since you're all so excited," She began with a playful wink to the customers, "I'm very proud to welcome our very own Kanon Wakeshima to this humble cafe."
The people once again began to applaud excitedly as the woman walked onto the stage beside the teenager.
Watching as the lolita took a seat towards the front of the platform, her cello looking far too massive for her petite frame, the two women nodded to the other. Their genuinely kind smiles warmed the patrons of the cafe to their cores.
As soon as Kagome's feet were back on the marbled flooring, Kanon rose the bow in her hand, tugging it along the strings at the neck of her instrument as her slender fingers made delicate and precise work with practiced synchronization.
When she separated her lips to begin singing, the hauntingly beautiful tone of her voice sent shivers down the spine of many in the building.
"The softly flowing white and parched clouds passed by and I, coloured grey, merely kept staring at them as they slowly vanished out of my sight."
Kagome quickly made her way towards the counter to watch the show for a little while with her two childhood friends. The three of them sang along softly, completely oblivious to the intense gazes of one specific dog and wolf pair.
"Woah," Kouga managed to whisper out finally. His breathe had been caught in his throat as his crystal blue eyes shone with admiration at the girl he'd known for nearly their whole lives.
In the twelve years of their unique friendship, the wolf had rarely ever seen the spit-fire girl truly relax around anyone. For some reason, apparently unknown to almost everyone, Kagome rarely ever let her guard down. She never let anybody in.
It was as thought she was scared of something otherworldly.
He couldn't help but flinch as Kagome's body dramatically popped forward in sync with the sudden tap to the side of the cello. The music picked up in pace for only a moment.
"Now onto the sand castle that I'm building from the stars which I've been collecting, my faint prayer spills and drips down as the ocean waves, lying in waiting to sweep and trip you under."
The music ceased for the briefest of moment's as Kanon's deep chocolate pools glazed over in unspoken remorse. Her gaze locked onto the pale wall by the entrance as she hollowly sang, "A world of darkness, a world of silence."
Everything in the decently sized cafe became silent as further emphasis of her previous line. The seconds seemed to drag on painfully before her pale fingers once again made quick work of the thick strings as well as the bow.
"Although my disappearing prayer is being stirred up by the wind, I will not let that fire go out. No matter how many times I rebuild the sand castle with my frosting hands tangled up in busyness-" Kagome hopped off of the counter as soon as Mikado held his hand out for her to grasp. He expertly spun her around, watching with amusement as she hummed the tune effortlessly. "-the ocean waves lying in wait and just keeps sweeping it all away towards you."
Hating that he was breaking up the beautiful sight of his niece finally relaxing and enjoying herself, Yato walked up to the pair. His thick and wrinkled fingers ran through his greying brown locks. His deep voice whispered into her ear, "You're needed outside, child."
Kagome simply nodded her head and grinned at her friend before turning on her toes to sneak out the cafe's front door. The only proof of her departure was the soft jingle of the bells hung above the glass gateway.
As soon as the younger twin departed from the cafe, Kikyo entered and only briefly scanned the patrons before making her way over to the seated demons. Her small frame instantly slid along the leather seat to take her rightful place beside her boyfriend of three years.
"Oi, Kikyo," Inuyasha threw his head in the direction of the window to their left. "What's the matter with the wench?"
The elder Higurashi's deep brown pools scanned the area outside the window with curiosity before landing on the scene. She couldn't help but release a sigh and rub her temples in annoyance.
"That," she mumbled in disappointment, "would be our younger brother."
A dangerous smirk danced across Kagome's lips as she gracefully made her way through the shadows to her younger brother's nasty brawl. He was currently trying to block an incoming blow from the much older man.
Not giving the two men any time to process the newest addition to the group, she shot her foot out and connected the heel of her toes with the back of the man's leg. The force of such a kick caused the poor fool to fall to his knees with a sharp thud. His gasp of pain and surprise was the only sound in the alleyway for a few seconds.
"Shit," Souta cursed himself for not noticing his sister's presence early. The younger froze, as if his frame remaining stiff would fool the elder into thinking he wasn't there.
Before he could think, Kagome's pale fingers grasped a chunk of Souta's rich brown locks tightly and gave a sharp tug, pulling his back flush against her smaller frame. His voice cried out in protest, "What the hell-" he couldn't suppress the visible flinch when his deep brown pools locked with hazel glowing in disappointment.
Souta held his eyes shut tightly after seeing his sister's hand begin to rise.
Instead of feeling the slap he was expecting, however, Souta felt the hand trapping his hair suddenly let go and place itself atop his head instead. The hand that was only previously raised now had it's arm wrapped around his neck, trapping him in a deadlock.
"You idiot!" Kagome growled out, "Didn't I teach you better!?"
She suddenly let go and took up a fighting stance before him. Her feet were spread shoulder length apart, knees slightly bent. Then she rose her arms to demonstrate her coming point, "It's all in the elbow."
"Here's what you want to do," she began to explain, "hold your fists close to your chest. Your dominant hand is gonna want to be slightly further out. Then, when you punch, you want to make sure your elbow remains bent at least a little bit still."
After showing him what to do, Kagome watched as her brother quickly caught on and began to mimic her actions.
Kagome nodded her head and easily caught Souta's last punch. Suddenly, her hazel pools began to to shine with a thin lining of ember, an overly sweet smile plastered onto her sadistic lips. "Good job, little brother," she whispered innocently.
"K-Kagome?" Souta stuttered in fear of what was to come. "What's wrong with you?"
The elder sibling tightened her grip around the closed fist before she suddenly spun him around, pinning his front half up against the brick wall of the cafe. She casually held his arm behind his back.
"Don't you ever worry me by getting into useless fights, you sick little bastard." Kagome growled dangerously into his ear. Her other arm came up to wrap around his neck, holding him in place until he decided to admit defeat and submit to her.

Reborn, Xanxus and Byakuran falling in love with a civilian s/o
Reborn
You were always at the same park, walking your dog at the same time of the day. Reborn had been watching you for a while now. Going to that park seemed to be an important part of your routine.
Reborn liked to watch people. Figure things about them when he didn’t have anything better to do. It was good exercise for his mind.
However, you were not part of his hobby. Because no matter how he knew that you always went to the park at the same time of the day, your favorite fragrance or how you liked to style your hair most of the time, you were something else to him.
He didn’t know exactly why. Maybe it was the way your eyes gleamed when you licked your ice cream, or the way your smile seemed to make your entire face light up. He didn’t know. He only knew that the few times he spoke with you he got a strange fluttering feeling on his chest.
There you were, walking down the street with your pet to the park once again, right in time. He watched with anticipation as you sat down by a bench and released your dog to go play.
You were a civilian, clueless about his situation. Living a happy life oblivious of the people like him that lived in the shadows. Still, he wanted to approach you, to figure out what was this feeling that you gave him. He was tired of just watching from afar.
“Hey. You come here often?” He said walking to you.
You turned your gaze from your dog and looked at the stranger in suit and tie that always wore a fedora no matter what and sometimes spoke with you. You already noticed that he was always on that park whenever you went to walk with your dog.
“No, just every day.” You replied giggling and managing to get a chuckle out of him. Using such an outdated pickup line with you was the kind of joke that amused you.
“Good one.” He said smirking at your witty reply.
You two remained in silence for a while staring at your dog that was running up and down the grass, happy with the freedom. You knew that this stranger wasn’t there just for small talk. He wanted something.
“So, what is it that you want?” You asked looking at him again.
“Why would you think I want something?” He replied amused.
“I don’t know, you tell me.” You said smiling.
That was what intrigued him. You always had that kind behavior, as if you could exhale kindness, but whenever he spoke with you, he could see a glint of intelligence on your eyes. You were kind, not innocent or naïve.
“I was just thinking. There’s this coffee shop down the street that makes a decent coffee. They also allow dogs inside the shop.”
“I don’t know. My boy is usually shy about people asking him out, but you can talk with him and see what he thinks about it.” You replied. Your dog had just walked back to you and was now sniffing Reborn’s leg.
Reborn hummed and kneeled in front of it. “Hey, I saw you running happily out there and was just thinking, what do you think about going to a coffee shop just down the street?”
You put a hand over your mouth concealing your smile while your dog kept staring at the man.
“Your human can come too.” He added, and with that, your dog barked and wiggled its tail happily.
You threw a betrayed look at your dog.
“Well, I think he’s up for it.” Reborn said to you.
“Looks like he is.” You replied getting up from the bench and tying your dog again.
“I am Reborn.” The man said extending an arm to you.
You grabbed his arm and introduced yourself before you both started walking.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you [Name].”
You didn’t know if it was his tone, voice, or the fact that you were walking beside him holding his arm, but you could feel heat creeping up your cheeks at his words. You just nodded; feeling like you would most likely stutter if you tried speaking now.
You reminded yourself that this was not a date or anything else, but since your dog seemed to be ok with this stranger, why not play along for a while?
Who knows what could happen, right?

Xanxus
You were the owner of the bar Xanxus usually went to when staying in the compound was too bothersome for him. At first, you were just the sexy bar owner that he wanted to ask out but kept distance because it would be too much trouble for him.
You were a civilian, after all.
However, even if everything about you screamed civilian, you had that aura around you. That air of confidence and strength that just said ‘bad bitch’, and oh how it made him picture you as a bad bitch in his imagination.
He wanted to approach you, despite the trouble that civilians usually were, but that was not just it. He wanted to remember your name after a one-night stand and, shit, maybe know you better. The kind of attraction that he didn’t remember of feeling before. How was that called?
Well, fuck it. Xanxus was on his seventh vodka shot and he wasn’t holding back anymore. Civilian or not, he knew what he wanted, and how to get it.
“Hey…” He said approaching the counter.
“If you’re going to ask if it’s hot in here, it is not, and it’s probably you.” Came the quick retort.
Xanxus frowned at you. God, men were so predictable. This customer came here every weekend and would stare at you all the night. You knew it; you could see his gaze when you turned your back, reflected on the bottles behind the counter.
He probably thought he was the hottest shit around and could get you into his bed easily. You could admit that the scars were interesting, if not a bit intimidating, and that he was pretty attractive, but still. He was probably an asshole just like all the others. If not worse.
“I wasn’t going to ask that.” He replied.
“Oh, mind saying what you want then?” You asked raising an eyebrow.
His expression became bitter, but he quickly softened it with a smirk again. As if remembering that he should keep this civilized. “What are you going to do after this?”
“Well, since you’re a loyal customer and know very well that we stay open all night long on weekends. I’m going home sleep.”
Xanxus tried to keep his smirk and politeness on. While he liked sassy women, he was not used to be dissed that much. He was the kind of man that made women swoon just by entering a place, after all.
“And on week days?” He asked.
“On week days we close on the normal time, usually 2am.” You replied smirking at him. Oh, you were having so much fun playing around with him.
“I’m not talking about the bar; I’m talking about free time. When do you have it?” He asked impatiently.
“I don’t. Sorry, too busy polishing my expensive and rare wine bottles.”
“I don’t usually accept a no from women.” He said in a rather aggressive manner.
“Would you rather accept it from my pepper spray?” You replied still keeping your smirk on, but your eyes gleamed dangerously with the threat.
Xanxus stared at you, considered for a while then huffed and took a step back. He was frustrated, but tried to convince himself that you were actually more trouble than it was worth it.
He was halfway back to his table when you called him back. “Hey, bad boy.”
He turned back with an inquisitive look on his face.
“I usually stay up after two in the morning, and since you’re a loyal customer and seems to be a connoisseur, what about coming here to help be with the wine?”
His interest suddenly returned, well, it didn’t quite disappear, but still. His smirk came naturally to his face and he snorted before replying. “We’ll see.”
You put your elbow on the counter and supported your chin on your palm. “We’ll certainly see.”
**
Byakuran
It all started with a message that he meant to send to Kikyo. He didn’t regret that the message reached you instead of him, though. Talking with you was so fun.
So fun that he decided that messaging you wouldn’t be enough. So fun that he decided to meet you in person.
Shoichi had offered him to do a complete background check on you, something that he refused. What he wanted was to see you in person, with the entire thrill that seeing a stranger for the first time involved.
Besides, he himself made sure that you were a civilian. Just a quick background check on his own, when he started messaging you and he made sure that you didn’t have any kind of connection to it.
The local of the meeting was the plaza of a small town. The place seemed to be one of the stops of people in a pilgrimage to a nearby shrine of some religion. Since he was interested in traveling and learning new things, he made a mental note of going back there when he had a holiday.
Maybe with you. Who knows?
You both had combined that you would be wearing black that day, and he white. That’s how you would find each other. Well, he had seen your pictures, so he knew how you would look. It wouldn’t be that hard to spot you in the middle of the crowd.
Or that’s what he thought.
The entire town seemed to be silent when he arrived at it. He had taken a cab to the plaza, where you should meet, but then the driver stopped a few blocks away and said that some kind of event was happening there today. That was as far as he could go.
Byakuran hopped off the cab, paid the driver more than he actually had to, and started walking.  As he approached the local that he should meet you, he felt tempted to send you a message. You both rarely spent a few hours without texting each other when you were awake, after all. He controlled this impulse and focused on walking the rest of the path.
He could hear the buzz of the crowd as he got closer to the plaza. It wouldn’t be that hard to find you, he thought as he turned the corner, you would be wearing black, after all…
Except that when he turned that last corner and the plaza entered his vision, all he saw was black.
He blinked once, twice, thrice. Shut his eyes and rubbed them, but when he opened again it was still there. That was not possible.
The plaza was not only crowded, but everyone in it was wearing black that day.
Did you know that that would happen today?
He walked into the crowd and got strange looks from the bystanders, after all, he was wearing white when everyone was wearing black.
He walked eyeing carefully all the sides. He knew how you looked like, so that was what he was trying to spot. Your hair color or someone that could be similar to you.
The first minutes of his search proved fruitless, as no matter where he looked, he couldn’t even see much, but then he heard a voice calling his name.
“Byakuran…”
He whipped his head to the side from where it came but saw nothing other than a tall man with a hat giving him a bitter look.
So this would be a game, huh?
He could play along. It seemed fun.
The same voice called and called his name, but no matter how fast he tried to be, he couldn’t find its owner. Half an hour was spent that way, and he had to admit that at this point he was simply frustrated.
That was when the crowd started to disperse. That was his chance.
He waited for the voice to come again but it didn’t. He frowned and stood staring at the almost empty plaza. Had he been tricked?
Once the place was almost out of people, he decided leaving, but not with a last better look at the surroundings. He might come back there in a vacation, after all.
Someone that he hadn’t noticed before was sitting by the fountain in the middle of the plaza. A smug smile on their lips.
Oh.
He put a smirk on his face, his previous frustration vanishing from as he walked to you.
“I thought you wouldn’t be coming.” You greeted him with a grin.
He chuckled. “I was wondering how long you would play your game.”
“Oh? I don’t understand what you mean.” You said, but he knew that your surprise was fake. He knew that the voice that he heard on the crowd was yours. He knew that you had been behind him for most of his chase. He felt your breath on his ear once.
“Are you really going to lie to me? You don’t know how dangerous I can be.” He replied with a saccharine voice that made the threat more frightening.
You merely tilted your head and your grin widened. “Well, I don’t know, but I bet no one can be much dangerous in the middle of a public place.”
You were right, as much as most part of the crowd had disappeared, a number of people still stayed there. He could see a few police officers not far away.
“That’s true.” He replied.
“Well, but since you’re not a dangerous person, what about we buy some ice cream and talk a bit?” You offered, pointing to an ice cream vendor on the other side of the plaza and getting up from the fountain.
“That’s a good idea.” He chirped and you took his arm, without him offering.
You were an interesting person. Someone that, despite being civilian, he wanted to keep nearby for a bit more of time.
And he would make sure to get some more time with you; just to show you how bad he could really get in private.
