More notes for Roach conlanging. Roach has grammatical gender, in which only Male, Female, and Object are grammatical genders, whereas Worker uses feminine grammar, Queen and King use a slight variant on feminine grammar, and Drone, and Queen-Alate use masculine grammar. This is because King is derived from Queen, due to their similar positions in a colony, and Queen-Alate is derived from Drone, as both are forms of alate.
Queen is an alteration of feminine grammar that functionally just adds a handful of extra syllables to it, and King is an offsprout of Queen that uses the same grammar with different pronouns. Queen-Alate, despite the name, is derived from Drone, as they are both for referring to different types of alate ant.
Most Roach dialects are intelligible to speakers of Snakemouth Den Cordyceps Roach, but Snakemouth Den Cordyceps Roach is not entirely intelligable to speakers of Roach dialects due to a mix of the excessively specialized vocabulary caused by the specific needs of its speakers, the fact that its speakers do not necessarily have Roach mouthparts and thus may not pronounce syllables in a similar way, and due to the fact that Inanimate Object is a full grammatical gender that does not exist in any other dialect of roach and replaces a decent chunk of terminology for things that previously had Other Words For Them.

community college is so funny because half of the teachers are like "For this class you need to use lockdown browser for all quizzes and tests. You need to buy this 70 dollar textbook, and all papers turned in must be in APA format with a title page even if they're only 500 words long. I will not accept late assignments. Also you have a minimum of 4 assignments a week." and the other half are like "you don't need proctoring for the final exam I trust you. here's a download link to a pirated copy of the textbook. as long as your writing is coherent and demonstrates an understanding of the material I literally could not care less what format you use. I can't figure out how canvas works so I'm not giving you due dates, just make sure it's turned in before the grading period ends. your only weekly assignment is a forum post with a minimum of 100 words."
#my favorite teacher so far is still the film history professor I had in my first semester.#he was very old and didn't understand how canvas worked at all and sometimes had trouble opening a video file#but simultaneously he was tech literate enough to recommend we use firefox with an ad blocker#because whenever someone missed class and was like 'where do i go to find the movie' he'd be like 'use an ad blocker and google it'#he said the school made him stop emailing links to free movie sites because people would open them on chrome with no ad block#and there'd be borderline malware on them. like this guy gave me the impression he was like. a veteran movie pirate lol.#that class had barely any assignments. like there wasn't a final exam or anything.#he just wanted us to write a paragraph or so answering a few questions about the movies we watched. it was chill.#and i also learned a lot actually. like i didn't know what a nickelodeon was before then. or the Hays Code.#the movies were genuinely good. i never thought Id be that into old black and white movies or westerns for example but they actually slapped#some of them had really mature themes and i definitely started to understand the people on this website who are like#'if the only media you consume is children's media you should maybe branch out instead of calling steven universe problematic'#because a lot of the movies we watched depicted very 'problematic' things and were able to directly address them because they are for adults#(to clarify I didn't just like kids media before then. i just mean that it introduced me to some older stuff i didn't think I'd like)#(but i ended up liking a lot. it also made me realize that movies made today are kind of shit. which i also already knew)#(but it put it more into perspective because I have more to compare it to)#im rambling now. community college is pretty swag i enjoy it. and i do get along with the teachers who have crazy requirements too lol.

Whenever a transphobe talks about how trans people are putting on a mask and pretending to be something we're not I think of what I wrote as a closeted 15-year-old as my gender dysphoria was leading me to disassociate while at school.
"This isn't us. This is a mask. This is a script. And everything we do is all part of an act."
Like... Maybe you think that you would feel like you're pretending to be something you're not but it's kind of the opposite.

I KNEW when I started this process that alum would be a heavily overlooked commodity throughout history but this paper is going into the taxation by the Roman empire, particularly their fortresses along the trade route in order to secure it as an international commodity and GOD that is so cool. Aluminum is just like nitrates but for clothing, art, and processing rather than war!! Then we were able to synthesize the process and it's become forgotten and obsolete.
#Total aside. It's becoming my personal pet peeve that academic papers with a fairly narrative layout NOT be in APA formatting because#I literally can't read the paper for the citations. Use Chicago I'm fucking begging you. Journal editors: you need better taste.#... shit how am I going to fit clothing into all this?#Also this paper brought up 'protactor ad mercurium' which the paper speculates is the manager of monopolized commodities#but I don't think that's right. I think that's the metallurgical commodity manager and I wonder if alum was also used for gold mining in#Spain; which would explain the massive uptick in alum mining at the time and also all the effort put to securing the resource.#We could check this by seeing if the amagamation process uses alum OR if the mercury production in Amalden/uhhh that one in Austria#required alum. been really into this sandwich/burger lately: bottom bun, thin layer mayonnaise, mushed 1/3rd of a can of green peas, american cheese, 4 pieces of fried bacon, normal cheese, ham, american cheese, another layer of mayonnaise & top bun. i use hamburger buns for it cause i bought some when i made burgers for me & my mum and then didnt use them cause we had buns with cheese on top & they sounded better but im sure any other type of bun or maybe toast (or just regular boring bread if ur weird) would work too. also i put the hamburger buns on the grill pan w the bacon for a minute or two cause that makes them real niceys. i dont think anyone will try making this after reading this post as mushed canned green peas (they have to be canned peas) r a bit too avant garde for sandwichburgerthings but i wanted to share this w the world anyway
#ate one today for lunch. yum it was so good#the peas really tie everything together so well . this would be dogshit without them#ill try adding half a can next time & see if this works too or if they overpower everything else then#the reason i use american cheese is cause it melts really fast (unlike the normal cheese which usually ends up only half melted)#and gives the whole thing an almost creamy texture? which works well with the peas & brings out the crunchyness of the bacon#the reason why im using 4 entire pieces is cause 1) i like bacon & 2) we have so much of it someone needs to eat it before it goes bad#voidcore.txt#also if u dont know how to mush such a small amount of peas i personally use one of those bowls for crushing herbs and spices#one of those with the little Thing . google is saying this is called a pestle and mortar

#sorry i usually don't like. rant abt real life too much#but i very much do not like how my IMC lecturer is doing my test FOR 20% OF MY GRADE#MAKING US TAKE A FUCKING GOOGLE AD SEARCH CERTIFICATION#and it requires an 80% score or higher to PASS#do if I don’t pass the certification? i don’t pass my test#i can't ask questions if I don’t understand the modules [AND I DO NOT UNDERSTAND MOST OF THEM]#and I physically and mentally cannot sit through module after module that ARE SO WORD HEAVY#AND I ONLY GET 1 TRY EVERY 24 HOURS#my deadline is in 20 days so I technically have 20 more tries#BUT#WHY NOT JUST MAKE US DO A NORMAL MCQ TEST#WHY MAKE US GO THROUGH MODULES FOR OVER AN HOUR AND TAKE A 50 QUESTION TEST ONLY FOR US TO HAVE 1 TRY EVERY 24 HOURS IF WE FAIL#NOT EVEN 1 TRY A DAY#I usually don't dislike lecturers and subjects BUT THIS ONE#UUUGGGHHHHH#i already do not like this lecturer and this LAZY test only makes me dislike her more#AND THIS IS 20% OF MY ENTIRE GRADE#HATE HATE HATE#HATE AND PISS ON PLANET EARTH#i know someone who retook this subject because she didn't pass this Google Ad test btw

another childhood bucket list item obtained: i finally have a snuggie
#and it's the real thing not even a knockoff#kinda surprised they still exist#but also not surprised bc Blanket. blanket is universal#i just remember a lot of those As Seen On Tv ads like. imploding within 5 years#they still do As Seen On Tv products like there are still boxes marked with that logo it almost feels wrong like an ancient relic#bc most like. ubiquitous 2000s brands from my childhood are just Gone or at least so fundamentally changed it's not the same thing#heard about like 50 more companies going bankrupt probably in the last year alone#anyway ive always wanted a snuggie it's one of those Always Wanted things that never go away#others include: staples easy button (obtained!); mini fridge (not); pillow pet (i had a knockoff once); power drill (not)#i spent a surprising amount of my childhood actually going out of my way to buy stuff i could use in my own apartment in the future#i grew up lower middle class and then just lower class#so like. i always Knew i couldn't just furnish the whole apartment at once i Knew I'd have to build stuff up over time#also bc when my sister got kicked out she had like. nothing. in her trailer. and i did not want to have nothing#i knew if dad was willing to just toss out my sister like that i would absolutely follow suit#and i did! two years younger than my sister when she was!#it just happened that my mom didn't want me homeless at FOURTEEN when i legally could not work for two more years#so she went with me and we lived with my grandma#so take that dad. turns out throwing family members out willy nilly makes the rest of your family not trust you or like you!#and now i get to rub it in his face that HE can't function in a house by himself and still needs to beg my mom to clean up after him#bc i spent so much of my childhood getting berated and called lazy for not doing chores#getting told stuff like 'you have to function by yourself your parents can't always pick up after you'#and then he's literally useless without his wife#he's not disabled and he's not neurodivergent he's never even had a serious health scare he just doesn't bother to learn how to clean#his excuse is that he doesn't know how to use the washer and dryer (it has been almost ten years fucker. learn)#or he doesn't know which cleaning products to use (you have google and a library card. LOOK IT UP)#he's the only person i get mad at for this behaviour bc he's a fucking hypocrite and a child abuser about it too#he is the exception to my rule of everyone needs to be given the space to get things done where they're able and deserve help when needed#and I'll bend over backwards to make excuses for other people so i DONT exclude them from my rule i will try to find every good reason first#he has no fucking excuse though he made two teenagers nearly homeless bc he thought we were too lazy and then he's even worse
