ok question! for those of you who have a gameplay based story, or a story that came from gameplay, what happens to you in the process?
-does the story and narrative come when you first make your sims?
-do you play with a faint story in mind and then the story, characterization and details come way later?
#i start off with a general (but still detailed bc im insane...) idea of what i want then see how the characters get to that point#when i do that i dont really make sims i make characters so i do flesh out how i envision their personality and read their behavior thru#the lens of that base idea i have for them; but if they keep showing me that they want smth else i dont mind adjusting things#also - a lot of the time i roll random numbers for popups or for major story events with different outcomes i could see playing out#bc i dont want to have absolute power over the story. sometimes things will change just bc the sims' personalities develop over time#or bc of unforeseen events!#whenever i talk for my sims in my head i try to match what they're saying to their animations and popups#i tend to have some dialogue planned but if the sims react differently i try to adjust and it can change the story!#it's like an improv 101 class for people that like playing with their dolls at 22 years old

i don't know if anyone reads the longer posts i make, so i'm going to try to keep this short and hope that it encourages more people to read.
these kids are zaen and yahya. they're kindergarteners. they were really excited to start school but i don't think it needs to be said what happened afterwards. now they're trying to help their parents collect necessities in gaza.
i'm not going to write paragraphs appealing to the humanity of those reading it. i know it exists. instead i'm just going to tell you about the family and their goals.
this is the shehab family.
zaen and yahya's father is mohammed @mohammedfamily-blog; their mom is @hyamshehab92 who has reached out to me a few times.
their previous fundraiser was shut down; they lost all the money they'd been able to raise and are now trying to start over.
they have been vetted by 90-ghost here and are #127 on the gazavetters spreadsheet.
