I don't normally post about Harry Potter (even though my user is based on it), but to hear the actress who played Professor Sprout say such mean things about fans of the franchise hurt. "It was 25 years ago, and it's for children."

I know the author of Harry Potter is a bigot, but I need everyone to understand that for a lot of people who grew up with the series, it saved us in some way. I know for me it did. My parents were going through their divorce the first time I picked up a Harry Potter book, and I went through so much growing up that I turned to my magical world filled with adventure and magic and found family to find solace. I still do. I am thirty, and I find myself gravitating to the movies or books when life is overwhelming. It's my safe place.

No matter how you feel about us fans, the works, or the author, imagine having an actor from your favorite franchise mock you while still making money off the fandom.

To everyone who is still here and in love with Harry Potter, don't let that woman make you feel childish or bad for liking what you like.

Ok hear me out people, Dragon Twisted Sprout

So I've seen how people are redesigning the twisteds and I thought of a fun concept. So you take Twisted Sprout, give him little leaf wings, root horns on his head, and little ichor spines on the scarf tendril, thus we have ourselves a " Dragonfruit". I can just imagine him turning the Diner floor into his lair and he had a whole hoard of stolen kitchen supplies (including a whole oven), the Savory Charm trinket, and old posters taken from the walls depicting him and his best friend. Next thing you know Cosmo finds him and now he has this dragon thing that was his best friend following him around like an overgrown puppy dog. In this case not even the ichor is able to kill their friendship, Cosmo's got a dragon buddy now. Anyway thank you for coming to my Dragon Twisted Sprout Ted talk, I think he's neat. (Maybe I should unleash this creature on the Twisted Rehab ask blog )

I’m the anon that sent in all the Ruby stuff! It makes me so happy that you love her so much. I didn’t expect her to be such a beloved character to you and I was kind of nervous that you would have hated her tbh. ^^;

Something Ruby related — I had a fic about Twig and co. confronting the siblings before I ultimately scrapped it because I could not write villainous characters without making them feel cliché. I do remember this one line said by Ruby’s sister when she lashes out towards Twig:

“You wouldn’t get it. You have a cushy life style and you baby your daughter instead of actually raising her. We’re doing that ungrateful, spoiled brat a favor — we’re teaching her how to survive. You wouldn’t know the meaning of that with that silver spoon in your mouth.”

I don’t blame you for struggling with not making the siblings feel cliché— writing villainous characters gets 900x more difficult the second you don’t want to make them sympathetic. Ark was fairly simple for me to write, even in scrapped scenes where he was all-in with his villainous role during the events of the post-game. Twig’s aunt, meanwhile, gave me a heck of a hard time while I was developing her backstory.
