And the Grinch with his Grinch feet ice-cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling. "How could it be so? It came without ribbons, it came without tags, it came without packages, boxes or bags." He puzzled, and puzzled until his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. "Maybe Christmas," he thought, "perhaps, means a little bit more."

Not exactly the right quote with the right image, but it seemed to fit better.

I drew this in December of 2022, copying a still from How the Grinch Stole Christmas! (1966) Christmas special, narrated by Boris Karloff.
Although I didn't think so at the time, this is probably the best thing I drew in 2022. I'm still pretty pleased with how it came out, although now I would’ve coloured him with felt-tip or brush pens, to get the smoother, 2D cartoon look. I don't care much for the grainy, pencil look I ended up getting here.
HB mechanical pencil and Lyra colouring pencils on 160 gsm paper.
Closeup below cut.

On the 7th day of Christmas, Ant-Man gave to you:
A little story about me as a kid. Actually, it's sorta a Christmas story and sorta a Halloween story.
I love both holidays very very much. Like they're pretty well tied for first place, but I guess Christmas is in first place by like *almost pinches fingers together* that much.
Anyway, I love both holidays, and I decided when I was like really little, maybe like 5 or 6, that I would combine both holidays into one. How? Simple enough for a little munchkin like me. I would go as the Grinch for Halloween.
I love the 1966 cartoon. To me, that's the best version of the story. It's definitely a tradition for me to watch it every Christmas season. Heck, I can recite the whole cartoon by memory! Songs and all!
And you're in luck, gang. My momma still has a photo of me when I dressed as the Grinch for Halloween. I don't know why it's black and white though. It just is. See below!
