Hello! My main account is @ace-aussie-asshole and I decided to make this account to give some attention to rarepairs of the Harry Potter Fandom. You can submit a request and I will get around to it as quickly as I can.

Basic Rules:

When making a request, give me the shipname, the characters involved, any headcanons you want to be included and a prompt (cuddling, mermaid au, coming out, first date etc.).

No hating on characters or ships in the comments.

The ship can be of any generation or subfandom, just let me know what age you want the characters to be in the fanart/fanfic.

I will be accepting light ships, grey ships and dark ships, and they will be tagged as such. So if you don’t want to see anything, block the tag.

If you do not provide me with specific headcanons pertaining to race, sexuality, gender identity, religion, appearance or disabilities, I will go with what we know in canon, or in the case of non-canon queer ships, a randomly selected sexuality.

Be specific when making requests.

This blog is specifically for rarepairs, and I will include most of the popular ships from unpopular subfandoms such as Legacy, Fantastic Beasts, Mystery and The Next Gen since very few people are a part of these fandoms compared to the Marauders and Golden Fandoms.

I will accept canon ships if they’re rarely discussed, but I will not accept canon ships that get a lot of attention.

If you would like to include character bashing in the prompt, such as an abusive scenario, I will use the anti tag for the character and an abusive tag for the ship.

If you request a Marauders or Golden ship I have not heard of, I will go through the tag and decide for myself whether it’s rare. This will be based on how few accounts make content, how many incorrect ships come up under the tag, how many fanfics it has on AO3 where it is the main focus and similar details.

If you request a popular ship or commonpair, your ask will simply be deleted and I will not respond to it, this blog is for rarepairs only.

I will NOT be writing/drawing smut.

Those are the ground rules. If you continually ignore these rules (repeatedly comment hate, keep requesting commonpairs etc.) you will be blocked. This blog is for ships that get very little attention, or no attention at all. Thank you.

The premise of this fest is to write fics or create art about sapphic Harry Potter ships or characters based on songs by artists who are queer women and/or trans* (We understand that sapphic identities are not limited to cis women, so any character or artist identifying as sapphic is welcome)

This is an anonymous fest, so please do not talk about your ideas outside the fest discord server (we will have a discord server where you can discuss your ideas and works with other fest participants)

This is an eighteen plus fest (lying about your age to join the fest will result in a permanent ban)

We believe in DL;DR (don’t like; don’t read), YKINMKATO (your kink is not my kink and that’s okay), and SALS (ship and let ship); Kink shaming or bashing ships and/or characters will not be allowed.

We do not support or agree with the actions and words of JK Rowling; Any transphobia or other bigotry will not be tolerated

WORK GUIDELINES

Any fic with a sapphic character or ship from the Harry Potter universe is welcome (this includes all eras); Gen fics are also allowed as long as they focus on a sapphic character 

Works should incorporate their related song in a significant way (ie not just taking it for a title)

Gender swaps of non-female characters are also allowed (for example, Harry or the Marauders as cis women) but we strongly encourage fest participants to consider existing sapphic characters and ships before gender bending (please note that gender bending is different than writing an amab character as trans, and we would be ecstatic to see sapphic relationships with transfem characters)

Works must be at minimum 1000 words long; there is no max word count

You must submit a complete work (works in progress are not allowed)

Your work must be original (no AI-generated or previously published content) and cannot be part of an ongoing series (ie no prequels or sequels)

Dead dove and NSFW content is welcome, but all fics must be appropriately tagged (If you have questions about tagging please direct them to the fest mods)

We understand that life happens! If you need an extension or have to drop out, please let the mods know

PROMPTING AND CLAIMING GUIDELINES

In lieu of traditional prompting we will be collecting requests for certain songs and ideas for how to use said songs (you are not required to select a song/use an idea someone else has submitted)

Claiming will be first come, first serve and you may only claim one song at a time

When claiming opens, there will be a form to claim a song; You will be required to list between three to five songs in order of preference

Each song may only be claimed three times (This is to avoid oversaturation and make sure there are a diverse array of songs claimed)

My Thoughts: I first encountered and read this fic in early January of 2021 (a late bloomer, I know), and I just now reread this article about the project and felt like I was going to cry. Figured that meant it’s time for a review.

It’s The Shoebox Project. What do you even say? This is one of (if not the) definitive works in wolfstar fanon. It does a stunning job telling the story of the Marauders from the summer before their 5th year to the beginning of their dissolution in the face of the first war. It’s funny, heartbreaking, and beautifully crafted. The article I linked describes the piece much better than I can. Suffice to say, I can’t recommend this work enough. I’m sure I had more precise thoughts on it immediately after reading, and maybe small critiques, but sadly they have disappeared into the recesses of my memory. I just know I really loved it, and it's mandatory reading for all wolfstar and Marauder fans.

It also makes me ache for an era of fanfiction that I was too young to participate in, and for fanfiction community in general. I read so much fanfic, but I do it in near complete isolation. As I read author's notes and comments and such, I can see the vibrant fan community that exists around the works I care about, and it's odd and a little sad not really being a part of that. Maybe this blog is an attempt to rectify that loneliness. I'm also kind of a dick in my reviews, though, so I don't know if I'm actually creating anything here that could connect me to the communities I find myself observing and longing for. Only reading complete fics also feels like a division separating me from active fan culture. Lonely feelings and pining aside, The Shoebox Project is a testament not only to the vivacity and depth of the Marauders and their story, but to the devotion and literary accomplishment of fan communities and especially the artists and writers that form the backbone of networks.

Notes on the Smut: Honestly I even don’t remember how spicy or not spicy this fic is. That was’t really the point, and for once that didn’t bother me. It’s probably M, but I couldn’t say for sure and don’t really care.

Marauders Fandom Discourse

Hi, just some food for thought about what I’ve been seeing spread across the fandom as of late.

The first thing I would like to point out has to do with choosing which content you consume. AO3 does this thing where is asks your consent AFTER you click on a fic if said fic is rated mature or explicit. A message will pop up that says “This work could have adult content. If you proceed you have agreed that you are willing to see such content.” If you agree, you need to understand what you’re reading, what you’re about to see, is ENTIRELY ON YOU. Not only have you decided to click on a fic with that rating, but you have ALSO consented AGAIN to what you’re about to read. You chose that, don’t go blaming it on anybody else because you agreed.

Now, if you have this feature turned off, this means you have given AO3 blanket consent to show you any fic with this rating. Again YOU have given your CONSENT and therefore anything you read under these two ratings may contain adult content and if you have something against that, there are plenty of fics with teen and up or general ratings.

Secondly, AO3 has set up specific archive warnings for some of the more general topics that some consumers decide to avoid. These include major character death, underage, graphic descriptions of violence, and rape/non-con. If you have a problem or feel uncomfortable reading a fic with any of these tags, this needs to be the first thing you check when clicking on a fic. If the author has tagged the fic correctly, it is on YOU to decide whether or not you want to read a fic with whatever warning is present.

Thirdly, an author uses additional tags to warn a reader exactly what to expect when they’re deciding whether or not to read a fic. If the fic is tagged correctly, and YOU decide not to read the tags and something that was tagged pops up that you don’t like, that is on YOU. The author has done everything they could have by tagging the fic, after that, it is up to you to know your limits of what you want to and do not want to read. Some authors will go as far to put content warnings at the beginning of each chapter for their readers, if you ignore these as well, this is on you.

Finally, a general rule across all fandoms, the Marauders one included, is don’t like, don’t consume. If there is a tag, a warning, a trope, a ship, any fucking thing you don’t like in the fic, just don’t read it. Don’t go out of your way to tell the author you didn’t like something that you knew ahead of time would be in the fic. They warned you, you ignored it, it’s on you now. People use fandoms and create content for many different reasons. For some it’s to escape their mind, for some it brings comfort, for some it’s just a bit of fun, etc, etc. Don’t go harping on people for creating something you don’t like, especially if you knew you wouldn’t like it and are now just going out of your way to make them feel bad.

The general message of this post is don’t be a fucking asshole. It is entirely up to you what you consume and how you navigate your own time through the fandom. You curate your own experience and it is no one’s obligation to tend to your own personal desires.

There has been a specific instance that most people are upset about but if you reference my points about, you will realize that the author a) rated the fic correctly, b) added proper archive warnings, c) thoroughly tagged the fic in question. Everyone who is complaining had everything they needed to know before going in and therefore should not be upset when they got exactly what was set up for them.

Now I realize that there are a lot more minors in the fandom that have joined in the past few years, so this is a reminder to anyone who may have missed the message. This fandom wasn’t built off of tiktok and minors, the majority, if not all, the fics you are consuming at the moment were and are written by adults. If this bothers you, write your own fic or find some friends around your own age writing fics and read those. But DO NOT come at the people who built this fandom before you were born and DO NOT disrespect authors when they create this content for free without asking anything in return.

I would just like to say that if you continue this treatment and bully all the creators out of the fandom, I better not see anyone complaining when no more content is being created because of the fear of being cancelled for no goddamn reason.

Wizards Hearts Recs: Polyjuice/Mistaken Identity

Wizards Hearts was a four-month-long Drarry reading fest. Players were given a playing deck of 52 tropes, and were asked to find 52 different fics to read and comment on to fill their decks. Instead of calling us Snape apologists, why don’t we start calling y’all Marauder apologists?

After all, you seem to be apologizing for James and Sirius’s shitty behavior. However, we aren’t apologizing for Severus’s shitty behavior. Unlike the Marauder apologists, we embrace Sev’s darkness. We explore it and debate about it. All you Marauder apologists do is make fluffy headcanons about James being the most progressive dude on the planet and Remus and Sirius being super gay when the former was probably straight (though I don’t mind a Remus who’s bi). Now, not to say I’m hating on y’all (some of your headcanons aren’t too bad) but I’m just saying: Aren’t you guys apologizing for your faves? You don’t see us erasing Sev’s bad behavior, but we see y’all erasing James and Sirius’s bad behavior all the time.

Hi everyone!!

I’ll be writing again soon and I wanted to give you guys some information on what I’m gonna be doing on here from now on. There’s gonna be a few changes to how I’ll be handling my blog and my writing which is why I’m making this post so everything makes sense and you know what’s coming <3

Fandoms

As you’ve probably seen on my blog these past few weeks, I’ve fallen back in love with the Harry Potter universe and I’ve decided I will be writing fanfiction about Harry, Fred Weasley, and the Marauders (Wolfstar content, Sirius Black x Reader, Remus Lupin x Reader, and some Marauders headcanons). I will still be writing for Peter Parker in the MCU fandom and I will also be writing for Drake Walker from the Choices fandom. However, I’ve decided that after I finish my series “A Shitty Love Song” (Stiles Stilinski x Reader), I will officially stop writing for Stiles.

He’s still one of my comfort characters but I don’t feel as inspired anymore and because Teen Wolf ended so long ago now, I just don’t feel the same love for it as I used to. I will definitely still reblog gif sets and shitposts about Teen Wolf!! and I will not stop talking about Stiles on my blog lmao but I won’t be writing about him anymore. I know a lot of people follow me for that, so I apologise if you feel let down or disappointed. 

I really appreciate all the love and the support you guys have been surrounding me with ever since I joined the Teen Wolf fandom, and I still love yall and will gladly discuss the show with you guys!! Thank you for understanding, I really hope you’ll still enjoy my blog and my content!

NSFW Content

Because I was a minor up until last August, I wasn’t comfortable with writing smut or NSFW content. My views on NSFW content on tumblr have changed a lot in the past few months and I have realised that I am now responsible for the content that I decide to share with readers and followers. I am 18 years old and I now feel comfortable writing smut, meaning I will be posting NSFW fics on my blog starting now. However, I would like to make some things clear:

If you are under 18 years old, I ask that you do not interact with my NSFW content. You are allowed to read my other fanfiction and you are allowed to interact with my blog and with me, however, my NSFW content is off limits. I know that this won’t necessarily make sense to everyone, and I know people will be upset, but this is a boundary I will enforce for your own protection as well as my own. I really am sorry if you feel disappointed or feel excluded, but smut is written pornography and there is a reason why the law prohibits minors from interacting with it. 

As a legal adult, I do not feel comfortable supplying minors with sexual content. All minors, including my friends/mutuals, will be blocked if they interact with my NSFW content, so I ask again: please do not interact with my NSFW content if you are under 18, regardless of where you live, where you’re from, and regardless of your past sexual experiences. I will not be making exceptions and this isn’t up for discussion. I really do not want to be rude or act pretentious, but this really is a necessity and I will be taking this seriously.

Like I said, I will now start writing smut, however I will only be writing smut about 18 year olds and above. I do not feel comfortable writing smut about minors, even if they are 16-17. I know that minors engage in sexual behaviour in real life, but like I said, I do not feel comfortable writing about it. I also will not be writing non-con content, nor will I write about incest or dubious consent content. I ask that you please respect my choice.

For the sake of transparency, I will keep tagging the sexual content on my blog as NSFW and I will add it in the warnings above my fanfiction every time. Again, I ask that you respect these boundaries if you are a minor. I also ask that the other adult creators tag my writings as NSFW if they decide to reblog them. Thank you!!

Lastly, because I am 18, I want to say that if you feel uncomfortable with me interacting with your content or talking to you, do not hesitate to tell me and I will respect your own boundaries. Friendships on tumblr are complicated because everyone can stay anonymous while maintaining relationships with each other, which can make some people very uncomfortable, especially minors. I will completely understand if you would rather I stay away from your blog.

What I Read

I love reading people’s fanfiction and I really try to be supportive of my friends and their content however I have realised that there are a few things I see that make me uncomfortable, which is why I have decided to tell you guys that I will not be reading NSFW content about real people anymore. I don’t judge creators that do write about real people, nor do I necessarily disagree with them, I just know that it doesn’t make me feel comfortable anymore so I will not be reading those kinds of fics anymore. I am really sorry if that upsets or disappoints you but I’m not going to force myself to read things that make me feel uneasy haha.

Also, I don’t think I have ever interacted with fanfiction that talks about someone’s real life trauma because it always made me feel extremely uncomfortable, and I don’t intend on starting now so please don’t tag me in content like that! I don’t want to disrespect your work or your writing, but I feel that there are certain boundaries we have to respect as “fans” and romanticising a real person’s personal trauma is just not right in my eyes (Dylan O’Brien’s accident for instance). Yes, this includes past relationships or exes (something I didn’t always respect but now I do).

Speaking of trauma, I would like to specify something. 

I will not, and will never romanticise a character on here who’s personality revolves around his/her/their trauma (yes, even if it’s fictional). It was a big issue with Arvin Russell in the Tom Holland fandom, and it will be an even bigger issue when Cherry comes out. I used to read Mitch Rapp fanfiction, something that I don’t intend on doing anymore, unless it’s soft Mitch who’s resolved his issues haha. If a character’s entire story arc and trauma has turned them into a violent and mentally ill person, it is not something that I want to romanticise or fantasize about. It can be harmful because it reinforces the idea that toxic relationships and/or violence are romantic or sexy things. They aren’t.

Name: BrujaBanter on AO3 and BubbeBruja here (because...it’s my whole identity in one title). 

Fandoms: Harry Potter. Mostly Wolfstar, but I’ve been doing/wanting to do more femslash lately and have one trans!Hermione fic as well. I am far too obsessive a person to have more than one fandom at a time, but when I was a teenager I was weirdly obsessed with CSI and Criminal Minds. 

Where you post: AO3 and Tumblr (I guess sort of?) and somewhere out there is a very old FF account with a LOT of Nick/Greg (CSI) content, including one in which I made a sex scene out of a Spanish lesson and...got the Spanish wrong? Mira, I was 15, it was a weird time in life. 

Most popular one-shot: The Incomplete Recounting of Four Nonconsecutive Tuesdays in the Spring of 2002. Oh that weird, dear fic. 

Most popular multi-chapter: Come Healing. My babyyyyy. 

Favorite story I’ve written so far: Oh goodness. My current WIP is definitely the closest to my heart, but Come Healing was a very special journey and probably the finished product I’m most pleased with. Actually, yeah, Come Healing definitely wins. I really love that dumb, precious story, and it was really my first foray back into fandom of any kind. 

Fic you were nervous to post: Get My Pretty Name (Out of Your Mouth), because femslash is complicated and special and delicate and also significantly less popular. Also I wrote and posted it on a whim in three hours.

How do you choose your titles: I thought I was soooo specialllll using song titles or lyrics, come to find out I am definitely not. But I am very intentional about using songs by artists of color/queer artists/trans artists. The Incomplete Recounting of Four Nonconsecutive Tuesdays in the Spring of 2002 was named because it was a weird, unorthodox fic that needed a weird, unorthodox name. My most recent WIP was named by....divine intervention? Who knows. 

Do you outline: I outlined for the first time ever with my current WIP and literally put in parenthesis afterwards ”An OUTLINE? In THIS ECONOMY?” But I had too many ideas floating around very quickly and needed to put them somewhere. Maybe I’ll become someone who outlines things now. Probably not though. 

Complete: All except my current WIP, Love & Blowjobs & Other Sacred Things. I’ll die before I leave a fic unfinished. Actually, if I ever have an unfinished fic, it’s probably because I have, indeed, died. 

In progress:  Love & Blowjobs & Other Sacred Things and OH am I ever having fun. It explores all the things my very nerdy brain loves, and I’m hoping it can do some important work in the process. Also working on my Fireside Fest submission and it’s...getting away from me a bit. Death is a character in it? We’re having a strange time, that fic and I. 

Coming soon: Like 30 more chapters of L&B&OST (wow what a totally non-clunky acronym I’ve created there wow). Also my Fireside Fest submission. Theoretically. Also I have a fic that just came out via Wolfstar Games, but it will remain anonymous for a while yet. Also at some point I should probably start thinking about my Marauders Fest fic. Someone tell me to stop signing up for fests, damn.

AO3 tags 101

So to classify its content Archive Of Our Own uses a system called “tagging”, and I’ve seen quite a lot of people puzzled as to how exactly it is used. This is going to be a long post trying to clear that up, and hopefully providing some help and orientation.

(i am going to use a lot of fanfiction terminology in this post – you can look a lot of it up in this post)

What is tagging?

To cite the AO3 FAQ: “A tag is a keyword or phrase that you add to your works to make them easier to find.“ Tags also have the, at least as important purpose, of helping readers avoid content they don’t want to read.

Some of the AO3 tags are more or less mandatory: you have to chose a fandom, a rating, an archive warning from the available options (and be it “chose not to use those options”). 

Those mandatory tags have pretty detailed explanation boxes, which is why i’m focusing on the more puzzling domain of “Additional tags”, or “Freeform tags”:

(As said in its name, those tags are “freeform”, which means the author is entirely free to chose whatever keywords and catchphrase they want, be it some common tags, misspelled common tags, or new tags they’re introducing. If it’s a new tag, the AO3 tag wrangling staff then checks if it fits into a more common category, or if it stands on its own. 

I’ve seen people asking the following questions:

Why do i have to use freeform tags?

Well first off you absolutely don’t have to. But it gives readers additional info on whether your fic fits their taste, and can therefore get more people to read it. 

I know sometimes i look at the summary, think “meh”, but then i see in the tags that the fic uses some of my favorite tropes and end up giving it a shot. 

Also, it helps people find your fic again! A former reader is wondering “Oh, dang, i don’t remember the name nor the author but it had unicorns and mutual pining”? If your fic uses those tags they can find it without any problem through the search engine.

And, and i can’t stress this enough: it helps people that absolutely loathe the kind of content you create (because sensibilities are different, so sometimes it’s bound to happen) to stay waaay clear of it. Which is good for everybody involved.

But what if it spoilers my story?

Fear not! AO3 offers the neat option to hide the freeform tags as a default (for logged-in users); so whether your readers decide to look at the tags or not is completely up to them. 

Me? I very rarely look at tags. I dislike being spoilered, and i accept that i’ll probably end up reading things that don’t really float my boat as a consequence. And on the contrary i have friends who’d much rather put up with spoilers if it means they know what they’re getting into. Matter of personal taste, really! 

As an author you can merely provide that option for readers who enjoy additional info beforehand. It’s a bit of a friendly courtesy.

How many tags should I use?

Again, it’s completely up to personal taste. I’m not a big fan of huge walls of tags, because i don’t think they’re read in details by most readers, so i’d recommend between 3-7 tags for shorter stories (<5k words). For longer stories, readers often want to know in more details in what journey they’re getting into, so up to twenty tags is game in my books. More than that tends to look cluttered and distracting (again, my biased opinion).

What kind of tags should I use?

*rubs hands* This is where I suggest my neat lil’ classification of freeform tags (with some minor overlaps here and there). It’s based on observations and my own fandom experiences, so obviously it has no objective value, but i think it’s still a good summary of the different types of freeform tags used for most fics. Some kind of fics (i’m thinking PWP) have slightly different tagging conventions, but the following typology applies to most stories. 

You can use it as a checklist, or simply as inspiration on what kind of tags might apply to your fic.

Here’s my typology!

1. Format

These tags specify if your fic follows a particular fixed format in regard to length and style. Here’s some of the most common “format tags”:

Still, genre is a pretty important descriptor for your content; hence here are some of the common “fanfic genres”:

That’s one super cool in my books, because it’s sooo unique to fanfic. It specifies in what kind of relationship to the original content your story operates. Most common tags:

4. Fandom-specific tags

These tags are particularly relevant for book or movie series where the overarching fandom tag covers a really broad amount of content. Those tags give orientation in regards to which part of the canon content we’re talking about. For example, Harry Potter fandom may use terms like “Marauders’ Era” or “The Golden Trio Era” to specify what part of the original timeline the fic takes place in. 

But they also apply to fandom-specific events like Big Bangs/Reverse Big Bang, or fandom-specific tropes, genres and fanfic conventions. These are different for every fandom!

5. Common Fanfic Tropes

There’s a slight overlapping with “genre”, but all in all those tropes are a bit more specific, though widespread enough to be recognizable to avid fanfic readers.

6. Content Warnings

Reminder that there’s mandatory archive warnings for AO3’s big four (underage sexual content, non-con/rape, graphic depictions of violence, character death) that you have to use, or at least indicate to readers you chose not to use them. 

You are not required to use further content warnings and no one can blame you for it, as long as you used the mandatory warnings properly. But there are some benefits to additional content warnings:

1. It frames the “problematic behavior XY” (e.g emotional blackmail) you depicted as a problematic behavior, which makes readers both aware that it’s Bad™ (important especially for younger audiences) and that the author knows it’s Bad™.

2. It helps people that wouldn’t enjoy that content avoid it, which, good for them, good for you

3. It helps people that are actively searching for specific dark and difficult topics, for whichever reason, to find them.

All in all i’d say it has established itself as a widespread fandom etiquette to tag content commonly viewed as squicky/triggery. Here are some of the most common ones:

Introduction

Ok so a bit of explanation just so some of the things here would make sense to someone looking from the outside.

We are a disabled queer couple who use roleplaying and creating fanart as a means of therapy. Through our characters we get to experience emotions and express ourselves in ways we otherwise have a hard time doing.

Currently, we are doing about a million AUs and a million iterations of Sirius and Remus, meeting in different worlds just to fall in love over and over again.

In our version, the timelines, events and circumstances vary vastly, but the two characters remain largely the same in appearance and personality, albeit a bit shaped and changed by their respective histories in the given universe.

The world these stories take place in is loosely based on the wizarding world of JKR, and both the characters and the story have been altered to a point of non-recognition. This is a choice we made because through these characters we are telling our own stories, dealing with issues that are relevant or parallel to our own life challenges, and because we don't necessarily want to cater to any particular audience other than ourselves.

A word of warning. Since we are a couple and sexual intimacy is part of our relationship, this is also somewhat true to our characters. There will be explicit sex scenes in both our writings and visual art, and even though Tumblr doesn't allow this type of content anymore, we are going to link to images and stories that do contain explicitly sexual content. We are going to attempt to appropriately tag all sexual content, but we won't remove posts or stop posting these. Please, be advised.

Sirius is strong, firm, reassuring, a well-meaning buffoon, a bit thick in the head and thick in the ass. He is haunted by his family's legacy and in some worlds, the loss of his brother. Sometimes a pervert, sometimes a sex worker, often a queer biker wet dream... He's funny, and charming if you can see past the absolute cluelessness and the speak-first-think-never attitude. He might pretend that he's all that but deep down he's convinced that he's just not Good Enough for Perfect-Beautiful Remus. He's a lovesick puppy but he can pack a hard bite. He's the first to jump to catch Remus and hold him, steady him, ground him and help him come back from the edge of a breakdown, but more often than not, he's also the one that ends up crying on his boyfriend's lap.

He's a natural top, although he definitely is bottom-curious (albeit massively embarrassed about it). People assumes he sleeps around but in fact in most worlds he's a total virgin.

Visually, he's a gorgeous hunk with a dark complexion, ethnically ambiguous, but certain features of him point to native American origins. He has long hair, dark eyes, a hawk nose and a mass of tattoos, mostly commemorating his fellow marauders.

Remus is a quintessential cinnamon bun. He's a ball of guilt and angst, but he also carries himself with immense dignity and he's proud to a point of self-destruction. He wants to be seen and recognised and held and taken care of, but at the same time he's unable to receive the love and compassion of his peers... Except, maybe, for Sirius. He cares deeply about the injustice of the world, he's bookish and brooding, with stormy moods and fancies. He has a tendency to always jump to the worst conclusions, which can barely be balanced by Sirius' easy-going always look on the bright side-attitude. He has terrible self-esteem issues and he's given up on any chance of romantic connection due to his condition... That is, until he hasn't.

Secretly, Remus is a huge perv with very particular, very kinky fantasies, he's a power bottom who doesn't shy away from shamelessly going for what he wants. He's openly gay and a huge proponent of transparent communication, which is definitely definitely needed to compensate for Sirius' utter inability to verbalise feelings or desires.

Visually, he's the opposite of Sirius. He has a slight build and a frail frame. He's pale-skinned, brown-eyed, freckled and lean. He also has long hair, originally auburn, but by his early twenties, he's gone completely grey.

About the world.

Generally speaking, most of the stories take place in the characters' late teens and twenties. Regardless of the specific AU, we've established a world where neither Voldemort nor Harry has ever happened, and instead the story focuses on the characters' personal development, life events, etc. Furthermore, the Marauders include Lily as well, while Peter slowly drifts away from the group by the end of their time in Hogwarts. They don't part on bad terms, but they mutually let the friendship fade away.

Further Characters:

James Potter - he's a black transman with ADHD and a family who just doesn't have it in them to really care about him. It's not that they disapprove of him as much as they are just too busy making the family fortune.

Lily Evans (Potter) - a spunky redhead punk with a huge heart. She started dating James before he came out and helped him through the rough of transitioning. She is an amazing friend and a vicious advocate for social justice and equality. Her family is overly supportive, almost annoyingly so, and while they can be overly enthusiastic and miss the beat sometimes, they have also taken care of James as if he was their own son.

In some of the dark AUs James and Lily plan to have a baby and undergo fertility treatments, but Lily miscarries the baby.

Severa Snape - Zhe is a non-binary nerd with a beautiful redemption arc behind hir back. Zhe started out as a pure-blood supremacist but later came around and today zhe is a strong ally to the marginalised minorities. Regardless, Sirius hates hir and he can't get past some of their earlier confrontations over Severa's treatment of James and Regulus, while he's also deeply ashamed of his own treatment of hir.

Regulus Black - They are a gorgeous sunshine child with a larger than life personality. Originally planning to become a professional dancer, their life comes tumbling down when an accident leaves them in a wheelchair. Instead of crashing and burning though, Regulus decides to channel their energy into finding another artistic pursuit and showing the world how nothing can ever bring them down.

In some of the dark AUs Regulus dies in the accident that crippled them.

Welcome to the third HP Daddy Fest, for all your Daddy/Mummy kink needs!

HP Daddy Fest is a multi-ship, anon-posting, prompt-based kink fest in the Harry Potter fandom. It is open to all characters, pairings, poly-ships, tropes, themes and AUs.

A Daddy Kink is best defined as a branch of Dominant/submissive partnerships, where the Dominant partner is referred to as “Daddy”. A “Daddy Dom” takes a more gentle, affectionate and almost parental approach, using their Dominance to teach, protect and care for their submissive partner. Daddy kink may include age regression or “age play” (when the submissive partner takes on childish mannerisms), but does not have to.

Daddy Kink is not inherently incestuous or paedophilic. For the purposes of this fest, this dynamic is between characters of at least 17 years of age, of all genders and sexualities, either as Dom/sub or Caregiver/little.

Main Rules

ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST BE 18+ - NO EXCEPTIONS

The fest is multi-ship. All pairings from any era of the Harry Potter universe (including Cursed Child and Fantastic Beasts) are welcome. Slash, femslash, opposite-sex pairings, threesomes, moresomes are all welcome.

1000 minimum word count but there is no maximum word count. For artworks, it should be evident that you have put time into the piece, this is not the place for doodles.

Fanworks of all ratings are welcome. Just because it's a Daddy kink fest doesn't mean it has to be pornographic. That said, we do expect the majority of our submissions to be Explicit/Mature or R/NC-17-rated. Participants, please provide a rating; readers, please observe your local laws.

Content creators must co-author hpdaddyfest when they submit. We will remove ourselves as co-author when we reveal the authors.

Warnings/content tags are critical. Please adhere to AO3’s archive warning policy (or select ‘Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings’) and flag all and any non-vanilla goings-on. If you prefer not to use warnings (if it will spoil a plot twist, for example), please include a note upfront that the content tags are non-exhaustive.

All entries will be read/viewed by the mod team after submission. The mods reserve the right to add additional tags or warnings to your entry if we believe something hasn’t been appropriately tagged. You will be informed of any additional tags to review before posting.

All works must be beta’d before submission.

Mods reserve the right to ask contributor for a second beta.

Extensions will be given on a case by case scenario. However the more notice you give the mods, the easier it will be for them to accommodate you.

Works are anonymous until the reveals date. Please do not share your works with anyone prior to the reveals date - with the exceptions of your alpha reader, beta, etc.

All content creators must respond to any emails sent by the mod team. Failure to do so may lead to claims on future fests being rejected.

Prompting

Prompting runs from 1st Feb  – 14th Feb. 

Prompters must be over 18 years of age.

Anyone can leave up to ten prompts, even if they do not intend to submit a work for the fest.

Prompting will be collected via Airtable form, HERE. This list updates automatically. Prompts can be viewed HERE.

Anonymous prompts are permitted.

Similar prompts may be deleted/combined by mods.

Prompt numbers are invisible until prompting closes. This is due to the fact that the list will automatically alphabetise the list by pairing to make it easier for claimants to find what they’re looking for.

Claiming

When claiming opens, a link to airtable will be posted to the blog and here.

Claimaints must be over 18 years of age.

Prompt numbers will be revealed between prompting closing and claiming opening. There will be a post when this occurs.

You may claim a prompt someone else has submitted or create for your own prompt. If you are self-prompting, you do not have to leave a prompt within the prompting window. In fact, we recommend you don’t, to avoid opening it up to general claiming.

Each prompt can be claimed TWICE. Once for FIC and once for ART.

You can sign up as a team, whether as collaborating authors, artists or author/artist. Please just include details of all collaborators in the sign-up.

Please allow 48 hours for your claim to be processed. You will receive a confirmation e-mail with your prompt. Please check the prompt and also submission type (fic or art) are correct and follow the link to confirm your participation. Anyone who doesn’t respond via the form within 5 days will have their prompt released.

You may claim additional prompts when your first piece is completed. If you wish to claim additional prompts please submit your work to the Ao3 collection and send an email with the prompt you wish to claim next to hpdaddyfest@gmail.com. 

If you would like to create for the fest but wish to remain anonymous after reveals, that can be arranged. You will be required to give a username for claiming, but if you e-mail the mods prior to posting, we will keep your submission anonymous even after reveals.

1st June is the due date and you will be responsible for submitting your fanwork to the Ao3 HP DaddyFest Collection on or before that date. This is an anonymous fest. Please do not post your work anywhere else until after fest reveals. 

Submitting Guideline for Authors and Artists

All authors and artists are required to have an AO3 account.

All works must be beta’ed. If using a group chat or Discord server to help you find a beta, please save details which could give away your identity as creator for dms. If you have difficulty finding a beta, please e-mail the mods and we will do our best to put you in touch with someone.

Submit your fic or art to the fest collection on AO3 which you can find (HERE) on or before submissions are due.

PLEASE contact us at HPDaddyFest@gmail.com if you are unable to post. There are no penalties for dropping out. We understand that life happens as long as you keep us in the loop as best you can.

When you submit your work, you must co-author hpdaddyfest. This is to allow us to add necessary tags and correct obvious typing errors only. You will be informed by e-mail if we have done this so that you can review it if you wish. Any more complex issues, we will e-mail you before making changes. We reserve the right to ask you for a second beta.

Once you have submitted your work, please complete the Header Submission form which you will receive a link to via email.

One submission will be revealed (but remain anonymous) on AO3 each day. The header information will be used to post on Tumblr each day with a link to the fic on AO3.

The moderators will post wrap-ups of fanworks in a single weekly post on the HPDaddyfest Tumblr. We will also post a final fest wrap up before and after reveals.

The fest is anonymous so please do not post your submissions to your own accounts on any platform with any telling comments or attributes as to the creator’s identity.  Reblogging and sharing of submissions is highly encouraged, but as the fest is anonymous we encourage and require secrecy as to the creator of each submission.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s):

1) Do the submissions need to be NSFW to be included? A: Absolutely not! Daddy-fest is very open in terms of the types of works being contributed. We love that the term “Daddy” means different things to different people, and cannot wait to see how all our lovely contributors interpret it themselves.

2) What is the minimum length requirement for fics?

A: There is a minimum of 1000 words, but no maximum length requirement for fics!  Create your fic as concise or as lengthy as you desire!

3) What pairings are allowed?

A: Any and all pairings are welcome so long as they belong to the HP universe.  This includes but is not limited to Marauders era, Lightning era, Next-gen, Cursed Child, and Fantastic Beasts characters.

4) Can I submit a story that belongs to an existing series or WIP?

A: No. We prefer that the stories are all original works submitted for this fest specifically. Stories associated with an existing work or works could compromise the fest’s anonymous nature.

5)  Can a prompt be claimed more than once?

A: Each prompt can be claimed once for art and once for fic only.

6) Are Non-Magical AU’s allowed?

A: Absolutely!  So long as you are using HP characters feel free to place them in any setting you choose.  Stretch your creativity!

7) Do I have to use a fic beta?

A: Yes. We will put out a call for betas when the due date for entries draws near. The mods will be proofreading all entries and may ask for a second beta if grammatical errors are abundant.

8) I finished my submission early, can I post it early?

A: Absolutely!  Please feel free to submit your work as early as you have it ready. This actually gives us more time to moderate your piece so we are happy to have early submissions.

9)  Will you grant extensions?

A: Of course!  Life happens and this is meant to be fun and not stressful.  Please contact us if you need an extension at hpdaddyfest@gmail.com.

10) I need to drop out, what should I do?

A: Again, life happens so please don’t stress but do let us know as soon as you can. Even if you think you might need to drop out email us and we’ll see what we can do for you. As with extensions, this is meant to be fun and if finishing it becomes stressful or not possible then just let us know. However, participants who do not inform us in due time of their intention to drop out may not be allowed to participate in future fests.

11) Does this kink always have to use BDSM?

A: No! Not at all. It certainly can be if you choose but it isn’t necessary. There’s a wide interpretation for Daddy kink, but the main idea is that there needs to be a dynamic where one partner dominates or takes care of the other partner(s) either sexually, post-sex, domestically, or all the above.

12) What tropes and kinks are commonly associated with this theme?

A: Getting off on dominance or being dominated, praise kink, age play, roleplay, humiliation, caregiver/little. In BDSM, impact play like spanking, whipping, flogging, and restraints of all kinds. The list of kinks is almost limitless as long as the dynamic fits within the scope of Daddy kink.

13) Do I have to co-author you? I don’t want you to edit my fic for me.

A: Yes, you must co-author us. We did not rigidly enforce this on the first run and it caused many issues, mainly with insufficient tagging holding up posting. For fic and art, if we add tags to your work we will let you know so that you can discuss alternatives with us if you wish. For fics, the types of issues we will fix ourselves are only typing errors, such as a space before a full stop/period that has been caused during editing, a single incidence of tense-confusion or universe-specific words which are canonically capitalised. Anything more complex, and we will e-mail you with suggestions without making any changes.

14) Do we have to follow the prompt exactly?

Wizards Hearts Smut Recs: Polyjuice Sex or Anonymous Sex

Wizards Hearts was a four-month-long Drarry reading fest. Players were given a playing deck of 52 tropes, and were asked to find 52 different fics to read and comment on to fill their decks. To prevent the same few fics from being read, fics were restricted to only being used for the game three times before being considered ineligible for further points.
