Hello everyone! Are you also tired of muggle pop culture constantly being portrayed in HP fanfics? Do you want to explore the possibilities of the WW Pop Culture?

Well welcome to the WWN Wizarding Pop Culture Fest!

This is a Creative Work fest which means you have free will on what to do! It just has to be centered around different aspects of the Wizarding Pop Culture!

Want to write fanfiction of characters buying merch/music records or going to a concert? You can!

Want to write a Prophet article about one of the bands? Sure thing!

Want to write a Wizarding song? What an idea!

Fanart? Of course!

Creating band posters? Yeah!

Or even composing an actual musical piece!

As of the current moment this fest is only staring, I’m the only mod here and this is my first time doing something like this.

We will begin the fest by posting different facts known about the WW Pop Culture for you to get a hold of how it works, to later expand on it! Creative World building is all we’re about here!

The fest will be hosted both on Tumblr and AO3 so you can choose where would you prefer to post. Follow this blog for updates

I've been playing Splatoon since the very first game. And seeing my playable character in the first game reappear and grow in Splatoon 2 and 3, makes my heart clench with bittersweet joy because I grew up with them.

Splatoon grew and I also grew and I couldn't be happier to grow up together.

Wizarding Watches aka We need to get rid of the fanon Tempus spell

Watches and clocks have a more important cultural role in the WW than what it seems!

A watch ( presumably a pocket watch as Harry’s was described to be dented on the back ) is a traditional gift for a wizard coming of age.

Ron and Harry have gotten theirs from Molly, and as we can see in the epilogue Harry still wears it. Harry was given Fabian Prevett’s watch.

Albus Dumbledore is also seen carrying a pocket watch although it was different than an usual watch - “It was a very odd watch. It had twelve hands but no numbers; instead, little planets were moving around the edge”

He used the watch to track Credence in Berlin, to check that Hagrid was being late, and see how much time he can spare for Fudge after the Battle of the Department of Mysteries.

Dedalus Diggle owned a fairly large one that shouted at him to "Hurry up" when he was late.

Mundungus Fletcher wore a silver one on a waistcoat.

Rubeus Hagrid wore a small gold one ( which was greatly dwarfed in his trash-bin-lid-sized hand )

Fabian Prewett wore one that was dented on the back over the years. It was later given to Harry.

Horace Slughorn wore a silver watch on a double-albert chain.

Sirius Black can be seen wearing a silver pocket watch on a double-albert, after moving back to Grimmauld place.

Barty Crouch Jr can be seen wearing a gold pocket watch on a single-albert, prior to his sentence in Azkaban.

Clocks are also often used in the Wizarding World and also may differ in appearance and usage than a standard muggle clock.

The clock at MACUSA measured the threat level of exposure of magic to the No-Maj people.

The Weasley clock showed the location or state of being of the various members of the family.

The clock at the Burrow ( different than the Weasley clock ) hung in the kitchen - “Instead of numbers, the clock featured reminders such as "time to make tea", "time to feed the chickens", and "you're late".”

There was a Clock Tower at Hogwarts housing an antique clock, measuring time.
