Like a video that highlighted specific scenes#No it's just the whole game again but with trivia pop-ups! I love that!!#It reminded me so much of like trivia track or the pop up fun facts from special editions of movies I would watch as a kid#But you can play through them!! You have to click on them and they spin! I love that!!!#I always love hearing the design and development process - fascinating how the playtesters reacted to this new game!#We take it for granted now but yeah I imagine it would've been very confusing at the time#And I was like ''Well it was such a small team and Ms. McLain was such a large part of it - surely she'll have a few bubbles?''#She does lol - as soon as I got to her first one (it was a slow burn! They buried the lead with her lol I'm already invested!) I had to go#I saved-quit the game out of sheer excitement and giddiness lol I had to sleep on it before I was ready to come back#It is so cool to hear her natural voice ah <3 And the kinds of direction she was given! Other bubbles also talk about her vocal direction :)#Very cool! I wonder what TTS they used for reference :0#But to hear her real laugh without the audio processing over and and she still sounds like GLaDOS! me, stupidly and weirdly resistant to listening to audio books vs reading a physical book for no real reason: man i wish there was a way to like, read a book while i crochet like i do with tv shows and movies and podcasts

Story type podcast or fiction like nightvale was a bit difficult to start for me. i like nightvale now i#listened. but i worry that is clocking in my brain as an Exception 😔 maybe it would be easier if i tried some nonfiction books? scary#i also struggle with single host podcasts apparently even tho im also ehhhh on the kind where the structure is the host Interviewing a#different person everytime? maybe it would be okay with a nonfiction audiobook tho cos it would be getting read by a narrator and not sound#so much like a guy ranting into a mic which makes me feel a little insane. altho propaganda doesnt necessarily always sound like a guy#ranting into a mic so idk. i could probably make it through if i can find a nice book about like. parasitic worms. i could tolerate#feeling like im falling into sigma male affirmations videos for worms i think. wormffirmations are allowed#*to clarify i dont listen to those but listening to better offline makes me feel like im morphing into the kinda guy who does and i hate it#which feels unfair cos he is RIGHT and the podcast is good but i need there to be like a cohost there to break the tension of the Ranting#sometimes he has guests on? but its not quite the same#i think the format i like best is either like 2 or 3 regular cohosts discussing things within a specific topic#OR. 1 host whos like infodumping to the other host who knows nothing about the subject. OR. 2 hosts info dumping to each other about#different aspects of the subject. doing things outside of your usual is such a humbling experience...
#lizzy speaks#to those who are curious what prompted this: my friend and i are collaborating on a video essay together#we picked it back up a week and a half ago after it laid in limbo for a month or two#and we're currently in the phase of editing it together (scripting + recording the VO is done)#and MAN. my respect for people who work on scripted/informative content just shot up through the ROOF#most of my experience with editing comes from footage first and then edit down approach (rather than creating/gathering visuals to uplift-#a written script) and it's. well. they engage with very different skillsets i think#my friend who i am collaborating with is very amused at me because this is not her first rodeo. meanwhile me as a first-timer.#i am telling her about how i am losing my mind over my editing timeline having gaps of footage because i couldn't think of anything to put#for certain portions (or i just didnt feel like looking through preexisting footage on the internet and dl-ing it)#and she compared it to 'telling a kid whos going thru puberty that its normal' EKLHFGLHH#im ngl the way i have spent like maybe 10 hours today off and on looking up footage and fact checking the splat artbook is so. explodes#it makes sifting through an 11 hour batch of footage of me playing big run sound like a cakewalk in comparison LMAOO#anyway if you read this far thank you :D i hope that in 2024 i can continue to be humbled in trying new things#and i highly encourage others 2 do so too! try a new method of approaching something or do smthn slightly adjacent to what you do!#tis a good learning experience and also makes u very appreciative of the things that are out there methinks#im literally only editing an 11 minute segment or so idfk how people make those 1+ hr video essays LIKE HELLO??? How are you going to include songs from the before in the instrumental polls? As far as I know there aren’t official instrumentals for his older albums. Or has someone made isolated versions of those?
Yeaaa CJ stated in the QnA about how all the instrumentals on the Covered in Discontent & the before. albums are just gone cos there was no reason to keep em at the time.
Like I said in the first poll, there was just some songs that don't have an isolated track to listen to, so you'd just have to listen to the song itself & focus on the instruments rather than the lyrics.
Not the greatest thing I know, but! Those songs have really good music & it didn't feel fair to not have em in it, just cos CJ never woulda known how many people would've wanted those down the line. [since like, 50-80% of his fans came from after the before was already finished]
All this is rlly just to say; bros original stuff are really good & deserve more love lol.
#tldr: i love backlit by moonlight's & end the dance's instrumental too much for them not to be recognized#which i did also see some talking about how they also love the bg music of em so i wanted to add them#if anyone has like. the vocals edited out of em id gladly put them in when needed! I was once again too ambitious with my goals for break

hi i hate adobe premiere and adobe audition thats all
#no its not ur gonna read the tags and find out exactly why i hate them#because i get these for free because of my school or whatever right so i have to use them for my classes#and as a film major#i use these A LOT#and i am in THREE production courses this semester (two is the most ppl usually take at once but i decided to make my life hard)#so as u can imagine i have a LOT of projects to do that require premiere and audition (the video and audio editing suites from adobe)#AND EVERY FUCKING TIME#i always end up with half of my footage mysteriously disappearing EVEN THOUGH i triple save everything and make sure its all there-#-before i close the program SO LET ME KNOW HOW WHEN IM POSITIVE MY SHITS RIGHT HALF OF IT IS GONE THE NEXT DAY. HOW. HOW DOES IT HAPPEN.#it also just decides to like ruin al my projects right#so today for example#i wanted to add some reverb to an audio track right nothing major literally so simple#and i go to hit apply#AND AUDITION JUST ??? REMOVES ALL OF THE SOUND ALL TOGETHER???? WHAT????#i was so lost#i saved my project and went to submit it and ONCE AGAIN it is soundless but it says an audio is playing but theres nothing#so i go back to audition and everything fine!#i double check how i saved i looked up the proper save procedure just in case i did something to just not save the audio#which again- how can i possibly save a SILENT AUDIO FILE like thats literally just a file of nothing#so i decide fuck it its 3 am and im tired im just gonne record the finished audio file in my VOICE RECORDING APP ON MY PHONE just in case#if i have to whip out my phone during class to present this im actually gonna stand in front of a stampede of bulls

If I kept doing LC content, I'd probably pull another Comic Dubbing situation, where nobody made high quality content until I did, and then it became the norm seemingly only after I stopped.
Because wow. I haven't found anyone who edits as hard as I did for my LC videos yet, mostly seeing just...honestly boring or uninspired clips with friendgroups that sound...dead.
But I imagine, once one creator with the passion and drive sees my content they'll be like me, and go "I can do that. Shit I can do that better than them!"
And I look forward to it as I have with undertale comic dubs.
Because before UT comic dubs, all videos doing dubs were intensively lazy. still ass PNGs with dollar store mics, reading dialogue in their normal ass voices, not a hint of editing or energy or passion. I made some slick edits and suddenly everyone was aswell. Good shit. Like seeing mediums grow, especially when I was but one of the losers at the forefront essentially giving guides with my amateur editing of the time that people could easily replicate.
To this day I still think anyone who watches one of my UT dubs could replicate them better than me, and when I get sad that perhaps that inspiration didn't hit, that maybe the artistic foundation I laid wasn't utilized, I'll get a comment, go to one of the videos, and see in the reccomended that while I moved on, so many talented creators took up that space and surpassed me. I won't know who was inspired, but I can see the rise of quality since, and say, hey man, I think I helped that growth, and as an artist, that's all I really want from my creations.
Foundations for others to build off of. One day a creator will see it, and recognize the sheer potential within them by recognizing my own flaws, knowing how I did things, and wanting to surpass them.
#to be clear these videos aren't jaw dropping haha#just better than almost everyone else's#legitimately surprised how few if anyone do basic audio editing#let alone visual edits that aren't jokes or simple text#giant fear and failure is a magnum opus of mine#god please learn from it#I'm not a genius I just have content in front of me and work what I want into it#so like#do what I did in those videos#there's 0 ego here to be clear#you right now can surpass me in a year#like go forth man I'm the blueprint because I want to be of aid#What I do I was inspired to learn from other creators#we all build foundations for others to build off od#Like early Jontron inspired my comic dubbing format#how I could never word but you can feel that energy that doesn't feel like a ripoff#fast paced editing#that's basically the crux of everything#that and going off audio#if your cuts sound bad then your cut is bad#sincerely if you got questions just ask#I'm an oldhead who can't compete but by golly I can help people grow as creators
