Dc x Dp #46
"I'm transferring you all to another branch to focus on your teamwork." Batman announced to the Young Justice League out of nowhere.
The news surprised the whole group. They've been together for quite sometime and had gotten alone just fine. Sure, they had disagreements here and there, but that wasn't enough for them to need more training, was it?
"We've been officially working together for a long time. Why do we need teamwork training now?" Robin asked, being brave enough to talk to the well feared vigilante that many were fearful to speak against.
Batman said nothing as he scrolled through the tablet in hand, obviously searching for something.
"Because you still have problems with your teamwork. You need the help of another team your age to get a better view point of what you're doing wrong. And hopefully you'll be able to learn about the different type of enemies
"Wait, wait, wait! Our age? You mean there's another team that we didn't know about?" Kid Flash asked, the news obviously being a surprise to him.
This news was a surprise to everyone in the group. All of them thought that they were the only young heroes that worked under the Justice League.
Finding what he was looking for, Batman opened a file and the team looked at the large photo that appeared on the screen. The photo contained four teens, just around their age if not older or younger.
One was a black teen with a red beanie, and Robin was surprised to see the bulky tech in his hands that he was using. What kind of outdated tech was this team using?
Next to him was a goth looking girl with raven black hair wearing a black short with a black and green plaid skirt. Her face was concentrated into a stern glare that gave Wally the shivers. The gun that she held in her hand didn't help either.
There was another girl as well. Her black hair down and resting against her shoulders. Said shoulders and the rest of her body covered by a black and red suit with a hoverboard against her feet and another strange weapon in her hand. A gun maybe? Red Arrow was curious to see her aim when moving on that board.
And the last kid wasn't standing. He was floating. With snow white hair and green eyes that seemed to glow everytime they looked at the photo. He looked to be around the same age as the other three, but he wore a black jumpsuit with white boots, gloves, and belt. On his belt rested a thermos? Superboy didn't see how such a scrawny thing could be of any threat.
One thing was similar was that how all of the humans eyes seemed to glow. Almost as bright as the- metas'? Aliens? -did.
"These are the members of Young Justice: Dark. They have been under the Leagues employment for three months, but they've been working on their own for almost two years and managed to stop several world ending disasters dealing with the supernatural."
The statement from Batman shocked the team. Them? On their own for two years fighting against the supernatural? Surely he was joking?!
"But-how? We've never heard of them, and they were world ending, we should've known about it." Robin argued.
"Because they've never left the threats leave their town." Came Batmans clipped reply. "There have been a few close calls, but all of them have been handled. As for why the League wasn't aware, there was interference that stopped the League from knowing about Amity Park. This is the team that took our place."
This was the team? Two years unsupervised against supernatural threats that they didn't know about and they still remained uncovered? Just how strong was this team?
"I'm assigning your next mission to work under them. For the time being they will be your superiors and you will follow their instructions if you come into contact with any enemy. Do not go against their orders or else it will be dire. With this, you will learn about threats stronger than you have faced and better yourselves as a team. Do not mess this up."

DPxDC Multiverse Police
I've seen the idea that GIW is actually SCP foundation somewhere, and lately, I've been thinking a lot about Fenton Happy Ending, so I bring you this. Behold, GIW/SCP, Team Phantom, and Fentons are working all together, and the whole wide multiverse fears them.
So, a giant green Lazarus Pit that looks more like a vortex than an actual Pit randomly opens in, say, Ohio. Because I heard a lot of weird shit happens in Ohio. The world is worried, JL gets sent there, but they are not exactly sure of what to do with it. Nothing comes out of it, and, well, no one is volunteering to just jump inside it - Batman made everyone read his files on Lazarus Waters, and they are reasonably wary.
But then a thing appears literally out of thin air on top of it. It looks like a spaceship, kind of, but more sci-fi than what real spaceships look like. And before anyone says anything, a large green - Lazarus green - dome appears, effectively covering both the ship and the Pit and cutting the heroes off.
The heroes are Confused (tm). And worried. And no one has an idea of what the fuck is going on, for all they know it could be some kind of yet another alien invasion.
Then, two figures on the hoverboards - one read and one teal - come out of the ship, flying over the Pit. They are followed by drones, and they all look like they are... scanning the Pit? A few more people, wearing black visors and shiny white suits that look like they are packed with all kinds of tech, slide down on the ropes straight inside the Pit. It sure looks like they are very familiar with it and have a good idea of what they are doing, working as a team.
One of the figures on the hoverboard, the one in a teal suit, notices the heroes on the other side of the green dome. She - because both of them look feminine enough - slows down and flies down to the ground, landing in front of Superman and taking off her helmet. It reveals a rather young, no older than twenty years old girl with fiery red hair tied in a bun, with eyes the same color as her suit. She smiles at them.
"Hi, you must be the Justice League?" She asks politely, and as Superman gives her a nod just out of surprise at her friendly attitude, she touches her ear, "Mom, this is DC sector universe. Pretty sure it's not a dimension we've been before, though." She turns back to Superman, "You don't recognize any of this, do you?"
Batman intervenes before Supes has the time to answer, "Who are you?"
The girl nods and taps her ear again, "Yeah, they definitely don't know us. So mark it as either an unfamiliar dimension or an unfamiliar timeline." Then she turns to Batman and smiles.
"You can call us interdimensional police. And since all the Batmans we ever encountered never believed us, I'm going to send you a copy of the files your other versions complied all together, so you can read and add more if you feel like it."
She touches her wrist computer, and, a few moments later, Batman's comm comes online with Oracle's voice:
"B, I'm getting a shit ton of files on... Multiverse Law Enforcement?.. out of nowhere. What's going on?"
Now, JL is baffled. Some of them - Flashes and Bats, for example - knew there was a whole wide multiverse going on, but to learn the multiverse has police? That's new.
Meanwhile, the redhead continues:
"The green thing behind me is a natural portal to the Infinite Realms, the dimension between dimensions. Which is really not what is supposed to be happening, so we are in the process of fixing it. It will take from ten minutes to a few hours, depending on what's on the other side, but the portal will be gone soon, and then I'll have to ask you some questions."
"Questions about what?" Asks Flash, and the girl waves her hand in the air.
"Oh, well, about the portals? If one so big is opening up, it means a few smaller ones had to exist in this dimension already. Our tech is not picking them up if they are smaller than a certain size, but you must have seen them before. I believe in the DC sector, you call them Lazarus Pits? We can take care of them later, too."
The second hoverboarder flies closer to them and revs her engine.
"Jazz, talk to them later, Tucker and Agents are done. Fentons are about to get Dannies down, so you need to either come up or leave the shield."
The girl - Jazz - looks surprised.
"Dan, too?"
"Yeah, it's the Toothy Jungle on the other side. They wanted to ask Ember, but, eh, what's her guitar gonna do to plants, even if they are sentient?" The red hoverboarder shrugs, and Jazz tilts her head, looking back to the heroes.
"I think I'll stay with them. You know it gets violent when Dan goes down, so people get antsy about us. I don't want to give the wrong impression."
The other girl huffs, but doesn't argue.
"Okay. Get out of the shield, then, and for Ancients sake, keep your comm open. Danny has an aneurysm every time you turn it off." With that, she flies away, back to the ship, and Jazz taps her hoverboard so it folds down into a hexagon shape no bigger than a backpack. Then, she steps through the shield, joining the JL on the other side of it.
"Are you not scared we might take you hostage?" Asks Wonder Woman just out of curiosity, and Jazz smiles pleasantly at her.
"Don't judge a girl by her looks. I don't want to brag, but I did fist fight Superman once and won."
----------
So basically, after Amity Park got sucked into Infinite Realms, the whole town just kind of collectively decided they like it there. And somehow they reached a happily ever after with both Danny's reveal to his parents and GIW, and then Clockwork showed up and was like, you guys want human food supply, running water and electricity, right? Well, I can do that, and so much more, you can be the ultimate perfect town. And for the price? You gonna go on adventures from time to time and fix the multiverse when shit hits the fan in various dimensions and universes. Doesn't that sound like fun?
And Amity Park, who's seen so much weird stuff over the years that it greatly affected their idea of common sense, goes yeah, that does sound fun! Let's go, people!
So here they are, appearing in different universes and doing damage control. They are, like, the superheroes for superheroes.
I'm probably going to write a part 2 to it, I want to show off Danny and Dan and Dani too. Halfas on the loose, JL is mildly concerned and kind of scared, and Jazz is just like yeah, that's just another regular Tuesday :)
I love Jazz being a badass, yes. Also, if you didn't get it, the other one on the hoverboard is Val, the drones are controlled by Tucker, and the people on the ropes are GIW agents.

Secrets
He wasn't spying or sneaking around or anything really. Well, not right now at least. Tim was only trying to look for Co-, Superboy. He was looking for Superboy for very heroic reasons that didn't involve a lunch date. It was a meeting. A really important meeting Superboy was running late for. That was his only intention for searching some of the more secluded parts of the Watchtower after Dick had mentioned seeing Conner helping out in one of the lower areas. Really, that was it, he truly didn't mean to witness what seemed to be a very private moment going on in one of the smaller garden areas that were rarely ever used.
However, as he saw the scene unfolding right in front of his eyes, he couldn't help but regard it with a little bit of curiosity.
Because Bart wasn't supposed to be up here. He'd been busy all day judging from some of the reports coming in but there he was, sitting on one of the benches and just watching the view of space with Phantom, the mysterious new hero that had recently appeared in Central a few months ago.
He was human or at the very least human adjacent with tech that was years ahead of everyone else on the planet and that was mostly guessing since he rarely used anything besides a few gadgets and his hoverboard that could easily break the sound barrier. Nobody knew if he had anything else or how advanced it all was since he refused to let anyone else touch his gear. Phantom even went out of his way to get patents to cover everything he used after too many people started annoying him about it.
B didn't like it. He didn't like the idea of one person having so many unknowns in their file but Bart had been the first to jump to Phantom's defence with the rest of his family and the Arrows joining in and quickly shutting down any sort of investigation.
Dinah had been ready to take a swing at Bruce over the issue and since then they'd gone out of their way to keep Phantom away from any and every member of the Bat family but here he was just talking with Bart who was quietly leaning against his side, his expression very, very different from normal. He didn't have his usual grin or an easy-going smile. Bart just... he looked so sleepy.
It was probably the first time Tim had seen it outside of the aftermath of an invasion or some major reality ending incident that left everyone completely drained but even then Bart always seemed to have a sort of bottomless energy like nothing could keep him down for long. But seeing him like this he just looked so relaxed, like he could fall asleep any second now.
Tim's racing thoughts were momentarily cut off when he watched on as Phantom pulled out a pocket watch of all things, the casing shimmering and the inside glowing a dark Lazarus green that almost had him rushing forward before he stopped himself, his finger hovering over one of the alarms as he continued to watch the pair.
He couldn't see what they were looking at from the way they were angled so he continued to watch on as Bart leaned more of his weight against Phantom's side looking like he was close to falling asleep.
They were chatting, mumbling in hushed words he couldn't place. He should know it though. Something inside him twitched at the alien like words they were sharing like an itch he couldn't scratch.
It sounded a bit otherworldly in nature maybe even a bit magical but still so soft with every small gesture Phantom and Bart made for each other. None of it was over the top but each movement was considerate of the other, eyes and hands lingered, their smiles growing just that bit sweeter the longer they talked and it intrigued Tim more and more the longer it went on and they got more comfortable.
With his hood pulled back and his mask off he could see a portion of Phantom's face and noticed the faint traces of worried lines on his forehead. He was prime adoption bait and a small part of Tim felt like he was being rude for spying on them like this, but another part which was huge and overpowering, desperately wanted to know everything they were hiding.
Phantom let out a sigh before he said something again, then Bart's shoulders shook the tiniest bit, a small laugh echoing across the garden before he finally took Phantom's hand interlocking their fingers together. Bart whispered something in whatever odd language they were using and Phantom responded with a low murmur. They stayed like that for a moment, conversing with soft voices that Tim couldn't hear anymore which was to be expected. Everyone knew B was recording everything up here in the Watchtower and with how far out of the way the two of them were it was clear nobody else was meant to overhear or even witness any of this at all.
Phantom released another long weary sigh and nodded at whatever Bart was whispering to him only a strong tug on his cape pulled him away before he could overhear anything else as Conner picked him off the ground and hurried down the hall away from the pair while quietly lecturing him about boundaries yet again.
It wasn't even his fault this time.
Add to it if you want but I just really like the idea of Danny and Bart surviving a messed up apocalyptic future together and meeting again in the past. Danny is playing up a Red Huntress/Hunter kind of role since he's putting a lot of miles between him and Amity Park and Bart is helping him hide since they know just about everything about each other after traveling around with Danny for so long when they were sorting out the whole messed up future/evil fusion problem. They handled it. It's not gonna happen anymore so they'd like to have an afternoon off every once in a while where Danny with some help from Clockwork can just block Bart's connection to the Speed Force and dampen both of their superhuman senses for a little bit so they can relax.

Protective Steb headcanon
Oh, our boy is so protective. Most of the time subtly, but other times…he makes sure people know their boundaries
Whenever you’re together in public, he always has an arm around your waist, on the small of your back, is holding your hand, has his arm looped with yours, etc. He is always in contact with part of you while you’re out and about together
If you go sit at a bar, he keeps a hand on your thigh, around your waist, around your shoulders, or on top of your hand at all times
If you visit him while he’s on duty, he can’t be seen touching you, and it hurts him. Physically. His heart aches to just wrap his pinky around yours, just the littlest of contact would soothe him. You tease him though, and make sure no one is looking before giving him a quick peck on the cheek before giggling and walking away, leaving him a flustered mess
At night, he always wants to hold you. He also always sleeps on the side where the door is closest to. If someone breaks in, they’ll have to get through him to get to you
If someone hurts you? He deals with them. He’s not a violent man, and he doesn’t speak much unless absolutely necessary (or if he’s alone with you), but he will yell and threaten them for you. If they had actually attacked you? Well, he’s not going to be the one leaving with bruises, he’ll be giving them out
Of course, he has special privileges to get away with that, being an enforcer and all (fuck the police…literally in this case)
If you’re at a bar and need to go to the bathroom and it’s just the two of you and no friends? He grabs your drink and covers the top while escorting you to the bathroom. And he doesn’t move until you come out, and he walks you back to your spot
If you’re from the undercity and one of his coworkers makes a snide joke about you, he’s quick to shut it down and have them moved to a different company/group/location
He might be a medic and can treat your wounds, but he’s always insisting you wear as much protection as possible when you do recreational activities, such as riding on a hoverboard or jumping/climbing around buildings
If you’re walking together and he sees a drunken group, or a creepy looking person, or just someone/people that look like they might try something bad, he moves you to the opposite side and keeps an arm around you, and once you’re past, he has you walk in front in case they try to come up behind you
He’s very paranoid over your safety and does anything and everything he can to ensure you’re safe

Hi, I wanted to request Ekko x reader, where she is a fighter who moves like a dancer...like Gwen Stacy!
author's note: I love Ekko (I would give this boy the world if I could <3) and I absolutely imagine him a badass partner! I saw "she", so I am rolling with a fem!reader for this one! Hope you enjoy and thank you so much for requesting! <3
Only God and probably Scar, given the amount of times Ekko has complained to him, knew how much he hated you. How much he hated the way you talk; the way you dress; the way you always butt in his fights; the way you moved, just like a silk in the wind; the way you drove him to the end of his sanity. No other word could describe the burning feeling in his chest every time he laid his eyes on you. Or maybe there was one more word...
The first time he saw you he thought you were one of Silco's workers. What other reason did you have to be in one of his Shimmer factories? You, however, did not pay any attention to him or the rest of the Firelights, instead jumping over their head and kicking two of the workers, who had blocked the entrance of the factories.
Ekko has seen a lot of fighters during his life, but none of them were like you. You carried yourself with such ease and grace, it looked almost like you were dancing, rather than fighting. For a moment, he thought he must have inhaled some Shimmer or something because no human could move so beautifully, yet cause so much destruction.
That night he and the Firelights barely had to do anything - you took care of most of the workers and the Shimmer all by yourself, leaving nothing, but a glowing purple mess behind you. And then just as fast as you came, you were gone.
For weeks he wondered if you were just a fragment of his imagination. He was a young man now, one forced to grow up way too quickly, the number of his encounters with girls can be counted on the fingers of his one hand. Even then, they were all members of his rebellious group and some (not all) remained to be his friends to this day. Perhaps, his heart was dreaming of something different, something exciting... or maybe he did inhale Shimmer and was just high.
"Have you seen that girl since the night at the factory? It's like she disappeared from the face of the Earth.", Scar said one day, while they were both in the workshop. "What girl?", Ekko grumbled under his nose, too focused on tightening the screws of his hoverboard to actually listen and understand what his friend was asking him. Scar's next words, however, made him freeze and he dropped his instruments loudly on the floor. "You know, that girl that trashed a whole Shimmer factory by herself? The way she moved, man... I won't be surprised if she was on drugs herself! How can anyone move like that?"
Confirming that you were NOT just a fantasy that his brain made up to trick him, he made it his mission to find out who you were. Back then you wore all black costume and a mask covering everything but your eyes. But these eyes... He had dreamed of them for many nights, he surely could recognise them if he saw them again.
After weeks of searching, he encountered you for a second time during another one of his attacks on Silco's ships. He swiftly dodged Jinx's bullets, waiting for an opening to take her down, and then - PUFF! - you landed in the middle of the deck, dancing around the blue-haired girl's rage, till you successfully swept your leg under her, bringing her on her back. You quickly disarmed her, putting some of her guns in your bag, before running in the opposite direction.
Your brother always said you should never look back after a fight. "Hit and run", he would always repeat. But as you pass the person with an owl mask, a shiver runs down your back. You can't really see it, but you are sure he is looking at you; following you with his eyes; observing you.
The moment you jumped overboard, Ekko jumped on his hoverboard, forgetting about everything else - Jinx, the Shimmer, the other Firelights, Silco's crew... at that moment only one thought was swirling in his head. He had to catch you.
He was used to going after criminals and Silco's men - with the years, it was less and less of a challenge, as he continued to improve his inventions after each fight. With you, however, it was different - despite you relying only on your parkour skills, he can barely keep up with your speed. Using any open window, door, and crack in a building, you were too quick and too flexible for him to catch up.
After a few minutes of intensive chasing, he stopped in one of the alleys, taking off his mask and rubbing his hands over his face. How in hell were you able to outrun his hoverboard? The fastest and the most advanced technology in the whole of Zaun?
Too busy swearing at himself, he didn't see you jumping from the window right above his head, till you landed directly on top of him, pressing your knees on his arms and wrapping your hands around his neck. "Who are you?", your voice was just as soft and smooth as your moves, "Why are you following me?".
You were fast and did manage to take him by surprise, he had to give you that. Your raw strength, however, was no match for him, and in seconds, your positions were reversed, while your blade was thrown somewhere down the alley.
Looking back, it was probably rude, but in the heat of the moment, Ekko just wanted to learn who you are. Taking off your mask, his eyes widened and his whole body tensed. He has seen his fair share of pretty girls, but you... fuck! Absolutely breathtaking!
While he was in awe, you were given the perfect opportunity to throw him off you and disappear in the darkness of the night. A second time you ran away from him and a second time he got absolutely mesmerized by you.
Ekko hated you. He hated how you kept showing up during each one of his missions; he hated how you started to grow bolder and more confident, mocking him how even with a hoverboard he can't keep up with you; he hated how you were so open about your despise toward Silco, as he is the one responsible for your family's addiction, yet you refused to join his group or his cause... You were a nuisance. A BIG one.
But the line between love and hate was thin, and everyone else could see that but both of you. Scar teased his leader all the time about how he never shuts up about you, despite his claim that he may dislike you even more than the Eye of Zaun.
The little game of cat and mouse you played was too addictive and fun, and it gave chance for you to be... well, you. Ekko could relax and be the boy he couldn't be when he was younger, and you had the chance to forget all the pain and suffering that surrounded you, even if it was just for a night.
Chases led to small talks; small talks led to secret meetings and secret meetings led to intense kisses and warm cuddles. It didn't take long for all the tension between you to blossom into something beautiful, something you both cherished and tried to protect.
You never joined him "officially", but you often helped with his missions, even when he insisted that you stay away because it was too dangerous. But you were stubborn and hot-headed, and always did stuff without thinking, and gosh, he just loved you for it! With all the responsibilities as a leader, he almost forgot what it was to live - till you brought that spark and excitement back into his life.
Only God and probably Scar, given the number of times he caught you sneaking into the base and Ekko's room in the middle of the night, knew how much he loved you. He loved the way you gently caressed his face; he loved the way you held him, allowing him to be vulnerable for the first time in years; he loved the way you drove him crazy, even when he wanted nothing more than to just kiss you and shut your mouth. No other word could describe the burning feeling of his chest every time he laid his eyes on you.

Mamabat 10 part 1/2
Chapter 10 : Calling from Hell just to say the demons are suspiciously absent, is that fine?
masterpost
“Fucking Batman,” Val said under her breath. Her Red Huntress mask muffled the words and made them come out even meaner than she probably meant them. “Years late and too little, even if he’s not working with the GIW.”
Sam hefted her requisitioned Fenton bazooka and pressed her lips even further together. None of them liked this at all. It stank. It was suspicious. Danny hadn’t sounded distressed, but he’d been out of contact too long for such a short conversation to put her at ease. There hadn’t even been time to update him on what had gone on in Amity Park.
“There.” Sam followed Val’s pointer finger to see the nearly invisible outline of a jet in the faint light. It was landing in the right field.
“It’s them or it’s a trap,” Sam muttered.
Val let out a mean laugh. “If it’s someone we don’t expect, they’re the ones in trouble.”
Sam huffed and said nothing. She couldn’t disagree, but Val seemed too confident for her comfort. They waited in tense silence to see the jet come to a landing. Not long after, a hatch popped open and the distinctive ears of Batman himself were the first out into the cold night air of a January night in Amity Park.
He was quickly followed by smaller figures- 1, 2, 3 of them. Sam felt nerves churning in her gut. She tried to channel them into aggression. She had to be tough, tougher than usual. There was no cavalry waiting to help out.
Well, there was Tucker, but he was probably going to be more useful in the wings to feed them information. He was pretty good aim with a thermos but that wouldn’t do jack about Batman and a small flock of, what, junior associates?
“Does Batman work with children?” Sam asked under her breath. One of them was genuinely small.
Tucker snickered on the other end of the line. “Uh, there’s supposed to be a Robin. Guy in yellow, green, and red I guess? Aside from that, there’s debatably like, 6 former Robins associated with him. But there’s also the Justice League’s junior varsity team, so it’s hard to say.”
She frowned at the lineup. She saw purple, black, and red. There was- yeah, okay, there was quite a bit of yellow when the little guy faced them, but she didn’t see any green.
“Showtime,” Val said. Sam crouched further behind cover as the other girl zoomed out on her hoverboard, effortlessly drawing Batman’s eye. She adjusted the dial on her sound settings to hear Val’s feed just a little louder.
“Batman.”
“You have me at a disadvantage.” Sam cringed at the gravely voice over her sound system. Batman sounded like he smoked a pack a day. She turned the volume down just a hint.
“Not really, there’s four of you,” Val said breezily. Sam suppressed a snort at the dodge. “You wanna meet Jazz Fenton? You’re going to have to prove that you’re not a plant. There’s a GIW facility-”
“Two miles west of here, yes,” Batman interrupted. “I researched.”
“Great. Do you have ground transport?”
“Of course. What is it that you expect me to prove?”
“That you’re not with them.” The subtle whine of Valerie’s weapons started up. Sam only heard it because she was hooked up to the helmet. “They do experimentation and keep prisoners. Show me that you’re not a cop.”
“The police would not support the capture and abuse of people.”
Valerie made a skeptical sound in the back of her throat. Sam couldn’t blame her. “Yeah, but they do.” Her hoverboard’s jet whooshed up in power. “Meet me there, outside the main gate.” She was off like a shot in the dark.
The four out of towners didn’t take long to get four silent motorcycles out and dash down the lane. Sam thought about what she’d heard as she cut a more direct route on Valerie’s spare hoverboard, taken from Vlad’s deserted mechanics lab.
Either Batman was a liar, naive, or he was exactly what they were worried he might be. The Justice League was famously affiliated with governments. Wonder Woman was even a member of the United Nations! If someone accepted the claim that Infinite Realms Residents weren’t really people, then they’d say just what Batman had. It wasn’t lying if you didn’t think the people you were hurting were really people.
Sam watched from a distance as the group reached the gated facility. One of Batman's people did something that unlatched the electronic security system. It swung open.
“Not shabby,” Tucker said quietly. “I coulda done it faster.”
“Not unless it goes off the rails,” Sam reminded him. She clenched a fist against her thigh. They needed to see Batman's real colors before they risked him knowing about their group. It was hard to outplan what you didn't know about, and they'd need every advantage they could get.
She let them all go ahead before she followed onto the property. It was eerily deserted, tire tracks where dozens of white Vans ought to have been.
The GIW had deserted Amity Park weeks ago. They were pretty sure there was a skeleton crew stationed out here, but no one came and left anymore. They only occasionally saw an agent wander across the path of a security camera, which were sparse inside the building.
But that didn't mean it wasn't dangerous to be here. Even now, a camera swiveled over the lawn, blinking a clear light that was easy to miss during the day. There was a reason that they hadn't risked a second raid after Danny had barely made it out last time.
Sam swallowed, hard. The bitterness in her mouth felt a lot like guilt. Who knew what the GIW had been doing? They could have someone else held captive. It was a big building. Danny might have missed someone when he was breaking Vlad out.
‘We did what we could, and we are making a move now.’
She repositioned her weapon and waited, tense with nerves. All she was meant to do now was follow along via what she heard on Val's comms and be in the wings to facilitate an escape, if needed.
“Left,” said Batman quietly. The comms were quiet for a long moment, then- “clear. Clear. Clear.”
Sam shifted her weight from one foot to the other.
“Red Robin.”
“Got it,” came a response, barely audible. Val must have been hanging close to Batman, then.
“You think now's a good time to try their computers?” Val said helpfully.
Tucker snorted. “Could just ask,” he sang to himself, cocky as hell. “I know all.”
Sam rolled her eyes. He didn't know all. About half of the property was disconnected from the security system, meaning they had no eyes on whatever was down there.
“Six stationed here.”
That had to be Red Robin’s voice. Sam cocked her head and focused on it, frowning slightly. Did it sound young?
Tucker's computer chair made a click when he sat up too fast. “Wait, what? How'd-” His end of the line devolved into rapid typing.
“Did you find a schedule?”
“No, it's not in the system. They're on paper, I suppose.” Seconds passed. “My bet is that labs would be in this wing.”
“Be my guest,” Val drawled. Sam could all but see her crossing her arms across her chest.
The line went silent for a while. Then, faintly, there came the sound of a metal door opening.
“Fu-” A GIW blaster went off. “Intru-”
The alarm was cut off before the GIW goon got out a full word, but odds were good he'd been heard anyway. Sam flexed her hands. Sitting this out sucked. She wanted to see what was happening. How many agents were there?
“Robin!” Batman snapped.
‘The little one?’
Sam felt vaguely ill. They had to be okay. This was Batman’s team.

we need a dj leah fic
i know nothing about dj-ing so this is all y'all get lmao hobbies II l.williamson
"lee? baby i'm home!" you called out, kicking off your shoes and shrugging off your jacket at the door. though when you received no response you frowned, walking further into your home.
"babe? leah?" you continued to call out, popping your head into the bedroom and the living room but finding no trace of the blonde. her car was in your driveway and unless you'd missed something you weren't aware of her having an event or plans tonight.
"oh here you are." you sighed in relief finally finding her in the kitchen. "baby?" you called out, dropping your bag on the counter. "lee?" you called again, the girl bopping her head focused on something else, headphones covering her ears.
you paused for a moment eyes falling to the sliver of her abs visible where her shirt had ridden up, waistband of her boxers poking out from her pants as her tanned and toned arms flexed while she messed about with whatever was in front of her.
"leah!" you yelled louder, smacking your hand on the counter a few times as your girlfriend finally glanced up, flinching a little in shock at the sight of you stood there. "hi gorgeous, didn't hear you come in." she pulled her headphones down to her ears with a smile.
"missed you." she attached to you right away with a soft smile, attacking your face with kisses before finally rewarding you with a real one, tugging you around the counter to where she previously stood.
"yeah no wonder you didn't hear me. what the hell is all this?" you frowned seeing her messing about with her laptop and some sort of board full of buttons. "dj pad." leah gave you a toothy grin, wrapping you in a hug, your head resting against her chest as you stared down at her latest hobby.
"oh leah." you sighed as she let you go, tenderly kissing the side of your head. "what?" she smiled, ducking down to kiss you properly, sending your head into a spin as her tongue swiped your bottom lip but you forced yourself to pull away.
"you always do this!" you pulled yourself up to sit on the counter beside her laptop. "do what!" leah frowned, crossing her arms with a raised eyebrow sent your way.
"you invest in some sort of hobby, do it for a week or two and then it joins your graveyard of dead interests and you move onto something else. then the cycle repeats!" you shook your head knowingly.
"i do not!" leah scoffed in offence as you now raised an eyebrow at her, jumping down from the counter. "come with me my love, let's go on a little house tour." you smiled holding our your hand, leah pulling off her headphones with a roll of her eyes and leaving them by the dj pad as her slender fingers interlocked with yours.
"example one; the hoverboard." you gestured to the item sitting abandoned in the corner of the living room, untouched for years now. "babe everyone bought those during lock down!" leah defended as you hummed.
"example two; the indoor golf set." you kicked the box sat with her trainers. "i still use that." leah protested as you fixed her with a firm look. "you've used it like four times if you're lucky."
"example three; the knitting!" leah followed you into her study as you yanked open one of her desk drawers and pointed to the abandoned bundle of wool and needles. "excuse me? i made you a blanket and that blanket was made with love." leah scowled as you shut the drawer.
"a baby blanket maybe it was like four poorly finished squares lee it could cover my ankles if i'm lucky." you chuckled moving to the large wall to wall bookshelf as leah scoffed. "psychology!" you continued, waving to the five or six huge textbooks your girlfriend was yet to even touch let alone crack open.
"hey i could still read those, that doesn't count." "but will you? signs point to no." you sighed with a shake of your head, ignoring your girlfriends hand swatting at your bum with an unimpressed huff at your tone.
"the VR goggles?" "they gave me a headache!" "the drumming pads?" "okay those were an impulse buy." "gardening? the veggie patch?" "our garden is immaculate!" "yes it is, because i'm the one who looks after it and actually keeps it alive baby. the video camera?" "hey i made the cutest video with that last year, it isn't my fault i lost the charger."
"do i need to continue baby or are you seeing the pattern now?" you challenged with a smile, swinging leahs hand back and forth which was still linked with yours.
"okay maybe i can be a little bit impulsive. but life is too short not to enjoy simple pleasures babe, even just for a moment." using your interlocked hands she tugged your body into hers, hands cupping your cheeks as her thumb pulled down your bottom lip before it snapped back up with a small pop.
"did you learn that in one of your self help books?" you grinned right as she leaned in to kiss you, head flicking back to the bookshelf. "shut up, but i'm getting pretty good! come." with that she lead you out of the office and back to the kitchen.
"leah!" you laughed as she effortlessly picked you up by the waist and sat you back on the counter. "listen." she carefully slid her headphones over your ears, pecking your lips a few times and focusing back on the dj pad.
your lips curled into a smile as you adjusted her headphones, wincing a little as a loud beat sounded in your ears, and you tried not to laugh at how your girlfriends eyebrows furrowed together as she pushed and prodded at the different buttons.
"see? not too bad eh!" leah stopped after a few minutes and you tugged the headphones down. "wait that was it?" you frowned, leahs mouth dropping into a small o at your words. "that was like someone beat boxing without a sense of rhythm. babe that was so bad!" you laughed honestly, covering your smile with your hand.
"baby!" leah whined, smacking your leg and crossing her arms. "what? do you want me to lie?" you grinned as she pulled her headphones off you with a huff. "don't quit your day job for the ibiza circuit just yet sweets, you're no fred again." you continued to tease as you patted her shoulder.
"hey it's really hard okay! these stupid programs i downloaded are no help either." leah pouted with another huff. you held up a finger for her to wait, lifting your hips to pull your phone out of your back pocket.
"here baby, one more for your bookshelf." "how to dj for idiots and dummies."
"cheeky girl." leah tutted, slotting herself in between your legs as her hands slid up and down your legs which wrapped around her waist. "have you figured out your dj name yet?" you grinned, getting your words out in between the lingeringly soft kisses the taller blonde was leaving on your lips.
"no, got any suggestions?" leah chuckled, closing her eyes as your mouth pulled away from hers and focused on her neck, her hands gripping your hips and pulling your body closer into hers as you inhaled the intoxicating scent of her favorite perfume.
"i think dj hold the mayo williamson will do numbers in ticket sales." "oh really? think i might need a tour manager love." "aren't you lucky, you've got the best in the business right in front of you." "mmm i haven't done any gigs yet gorgeous, afraid i can't pay you." "oh don't you worry williamson, i think we can work some sort of arrangement out."

EVERYONE RUN!
[Ekko grabs his hoverboard and quickly grabs his mask, tossing it to Jinx and handing a spare one to Isha.]
Get Vi and leave as fast as you can, I'll evacuate the place!
[He deployed his hoverboard and dashed away, pulling his scarf up to cover his nose as he went around calling for people to leave.]
Scar! SCAR! Fucking damn it... Why here, why now?!
[He flew over to Scar's house, breaking through the door as he looked around for the baby.]
We'll find your papa, okay? Just stay with me.
[He grabbed her and flew off, hiding her under his coat for protection as he flew around frantically, his eyes darting around between The Girl and the chaos around him, all the while he tried keeping an eye on Jinx and Isha.]

𝙁𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙨
(Ekko X Reader)
❥ cast : ! Ekko and reader ¡
Ekko had promised you the best view of the Piltover fireworks, and he wasn't one to break promises. As he tucked his Hoverboard under one arm, he led you up one of Zaun's rusting skyscrapers, the Firelights crest were carved faintly all around the metal supports. His hand reached for yours as he steadied you, his fingers warm against your own. The cold steel beneath your boots made the climb feel even more painful, but Ekko's confidence was more infectious than the pain.
"You alright there, love?" he asked, glancing over his shoulder, his smirk as sharp and playful as ever.
You nodded, even though your nerves buzzed with unease. "Yeah, just... hoping this is worth all this pain and climbing."
"Oh, it's so worth it." he chuckled, pulling you up to the roof with ease. "Trust me, Piltover might suck, but they know how to light up the sky."
Once we made it to the top, he spread out his enormous jacket for you to sit on, his movements casual but so thoughtful. You leaned against a rusted vent, trying to settle into the moment.
Zaun sprawled below like a canvas of dim, flickering lights, while Piltover's golden towers glittered high above, their shine cutting through the hazy air. Despite the pollution, the view was so stunning.
"This is amazing Ekko.." you said softly, the sight momentarily easing the tension in your chest.
"I told you.." Ekko replied, stretching out beside you. His arm brushed yours, and he grinned. "Best seat in Zaun. Ain't no fancy Piltover balcony gonna top this."
I mean yeah he was right.
But as the countdown began, your calm unraveled. Each second that ticked by brought you closer to the fireworks, and your chest tightened. You hadn't told him about your fear of loud noises—why would you? It seemed so small, so insignificant compared to everything else Ekko faced every day.
Five...
Four...
Three...
Two...
One...
"Here it comes!" he exclaimed, his voice buzzing with excitement as he pointed toward Piltover.
The first firework streaked into the sky, bursting into a brilliant spray of gold and silver. The noise hit like a shockwave, sharp and jarring.
Your body reacted instinctively—you flinched, curling in on yourself as your hands shot up to cover your ears. The air felt suffocating, each boom sending your pulse racing.
"Y/N?" Ekko's voice cut through the chaos, his tone laced with concern. You barely felt his hand on your shoulder over the pounding in your chest.
“What’s wrong love?”
You couldn't meet his eyes, your voice shaky as you stammered, "I...I can't—It's too loud—"
Realization flickered across his face, and his usual smirk softened into something tender. Without hesitation, he scooted closer, wrapping an arm around your shoulders and pulling you against his chest. "Hey, hey, it's okay. I got you," he murmured, his voice low and soothing.
You pressed your face into his jacket, his heartbeat steady and grounding beneath your cheek. "I'm—I'm sorry...I didn't want to ruin this for you.." you mumbled, your voice muffled.
"Ruin it?" he repeated, almost incredulously. He leaned his chin lightly against the top of your head. "you could never ruin anything for me love. We don't have to stay if it's too much for you, okay?"
"No, no it's fine," you said quickly, though your voice wavered. "Just... stay close, please."
His grip around you tightened, his other hand gently coaxing yours away from your ears. "Alright, just focus on me and not the noise.." he said softly. "Okay? Not the noise. Me." You quickly nodded.
His words were a balm, grounding you as the fireworks continued to explode above. "You know.." he started, his voice calm, "when I was a kid, I hated these things too. Every time they went off, I thought they'd bring the whole Undercity crashing down. I guess I was a little dramatic."
You managed a shaky laugh, the tension in your chest loosening slightly.
"But you know what I learned?" He tilted his head, his gaze steady. "They can't hurt us. Not from here. We're untouchable."
You clung to him, letting his voice guide you through the chaos. "Big tough Firelight leader, huh?" you teased, your voice steadier now.
"You know it." he replied, his grin returning. He leaned down to press a kiss to your forehead, his lips warm against the cool night air. "And I'm tough enough to stick with you through anything. Even these fireworks."
With Ekko's arms around you, the explosions felt a little less overwhelming. Instead of focusing on the noise, you noticed the way his thumb traced gentle circles on your arm, the steady rhythm of his breathing, and the warmth of his presence.
As the final firework lit the sky, leaving a haze of smoke and faint stars above, you let out a breath you didn't realize you'd been holding.
"Next time..." Ekko said, helping you to your feet, "we'll bring earplugs. Or I can like make you something cool—like noise-canceling headphones"
You laughed, squeezing his hand. "You really are the best baby. Thank you—really. "
"Always.." he said simply, leaning in to kiss you gently, his smile lingering against your lips.
"Happy New Years, love ."
HAPPY NEW YEARS TO ALL YOU GUYSSS!!

Hi!
This is my first time making a request. Could you do one where Scar and his s/o go on a first date?
Sorry if you don't understand, English is not my first language.
Thank You.
First Date
Pairing: Scar x Reader a/n:hey guys, so it's been a long time and a lot of not so good stuff has happened, but now that i have most stuff sorted out i hope to finally be able to post here again, anyway, hope you enjoy :)
______________________________________
I'm not gonna lie, there aren't that many places on Zaun to have a proper date
So when Scar thought about asking you out he spent days thinking of where he could take you
Until one day in the middle of a mission he found a hidden spot taking a different turn in the tunnels
As soon as he saw it he went to finish his mission as soon as possible just so he could finally ask you out
Then when you of course accepted it you set a date
As it was a spot kinda far from the sanctuary, he took you on his hoverboard, and when you got there you could not believe what you were seeing
It was a space full of trees and vines that fell in cascates on the walls, a ceiling also covered in them where light beamed through them, the place was made half of metal but the other half was stone that was not demolished in order to build the sewers
Not only was it naturally beautifull but you coud see that Scar had managed to have time to do a makeshift table and chairs for you to sit
On the table, you saw a loaf of fresh bread with butter and some fruits
(You would definetely ask him where did he got this, but you would leave it for now)
As the date started you could see how much of a chill guy he was
He had to be intimidating as he was the second in command of the firelights, and also one of the strongest fighters
But on the inside he was just a soft sweet men head over heels for you
You guys talked about everything, from childhood, to dreams of the future, to favorite activities
All of this while he insisted on feeding you the whole time
It made you happy seeing him like this so laid back and relaxed, laughing and smiling when he usually was so worried all the time
As it was getting dark he took you back to the sanctuary and back to your bedroom
Being the gentleman he was he said he would wait until you went inside
But of course you could not leave him without a goodnight kiss
Oh man, this was definetily his happiest moment in a long time

Fail Compilation
ectoberhaunt24 day 9- fall tw- none summary- Danny has a lot of powers. Sometimes he forgets to use them
masterlist ao3
The video is titled ‘When Phantom Forgets He has Powers.’
It opens with Phantom flying across the sky, chasing after the Box Ghost. It goes on for a few seconds, the ghosts twisting and turning in the air. The Box Ghost launching boxes at Phantom who dodges.
Then one box smacks Phantom in the face, and he tumbles out of the sky.
The video changes to Phantom sitting on the edge of a building. He appears to be talking with Ember. Only static and otherworldly sounds can be heard as they converse. Then Ember shoves Phantom and he tumbles off the edge of the building.
The video changes again. This time Phantom is floating several feet above the ground with his legs crossed. He’s petting some blob ghosts that curl around him. More blob ghosts arrive, practically covering him. Laughter can be heard. Then more blob ghosts arrive, followed by more, all converging on him, wanting attention. Phantom tumbles out of the sky covered in blob ghosts.
Now Phantom is fighting Plasmius. They exchange several blows and words in that language that only ghosts seem to understand. Plasmius seems to be taunting Phantom who snarls and charges at him. Plasmius rips a sign off the ground and smacks Phantom with it, sending him falling toward the ground.
Phantom is flying after a swarm of ecto-puses. They fly around, Phantom shooting a few blasts at them. They’re flying toward the bank when the ecto-puses swerve to the right. Phantom doesn’t change directions in time and smacks into the building, losing hold of his flight and falling to the ground.
Phantom is chasing after glowing vultures that are wearing fez hats. They pass intangibly through a sign. Phantom smacks into and falls.
A giant glowing serpent flings Phantom off his back and Phantom crashes to the ground.
Johnny 13’s shadow smacks Phantom into a building.
Phantom is casually flying around town when a student calls out to him, asking for an autograph. Phantom turns toward them and smacks into a sign.
Phantom is playing a form of flying chase with a growing green dog when the dog suddenly grows bigger and tackles Phantom into the ground.
Lunch Lady throws conjured food at Phantom causing him to fall and be buried under a pile of questionable food.
Phantom is sitting with Red Huntress on her hoverboard. He says something to her that the camera’s microphone doesn’t pick up. She shoves him off the board and he tumbles to the ground.
The video ends with a recommendation to watch “Phantom Acting Friendly with His Rogues”.

Y'all I got more of my random Sonic headcanons 🗣️
Silver loves to doodle, Tails can always tell if he's stopped by his workshop because he doodles in the corner of his blue prints
Shadow can't stand sleeping on his back because he was in stasis for so long, plus it gives him sleep paralysis
Charmy is a thumb sucker💔
Vector's been trying to break the habit but nothing seems to be working
One time Silver gave Amy a recipe from the future, when he got back all of his cookbooks with similar recipes changed in some way. Could've been the cover, title, or the recipe itself
For some reason, the new recipe was even better than the old one
Shadow, as the ultimate lifeform, has 30/20 vision somehow
Blaze is at least part wildcat. Whether that's a panther, lion, puma, or something completely different I know it is within her
Everyone listens to Vanilla. Everyone. Even the other adults
Espio is constantly putting himself in needlessly dangerous situations to 'see if his body can take it'. Nobody likes that he does this
Tails hates being referred to as Sonic's baby/kid brother. If anything, he's a sidekick or a little brother and that's only because Sonic is taller than him, not because he's a kid
Surge and Wave get really competitive on hoverboards, but it's all in good fun (mostly)
Tails is incredibly smart and incredibly gullible, like I know he's fallen for "updog" at least once, and has fallen for the "someone wrote gullible on the ceiling" joke multiple times
You will hurt his feelings if you point this out
No one in team dark can cook, they tried to get lessons from Amy and Vanilla (both together and separately) they are banned from both kitchens now
Dw !! Vanilla is still willing to give them lessons, just only at one of their houses from now on :) (her kitchen will never recover)
If Sonic is passing through town and sees some particularly cool merch of his friends he'll stop to grab it, if he has time
If Sonic doesn't know where Tails is sometimes they have a little bit of a scavenger hunt, or maybe hide n go seek is the better term
Tails will periodically send pictures of where he is, dropping hints if he thinks they're necessary, and Sonic has to find them (Sonic doesn't know Tails invented this game so Sonic keeps his tracking skills sharp during down time)
I wouldn't be surprised if some of the other duos or trios adopted this game as well. I imagine specifically team dark would get carried away with this
One time some stranger held a phone up to Shadows face out of nowhere and asked him about his political views. Shadow smiled and said "whichever ones you don't agree with" and then teleported away
And that's all I have for now I think... It's been a while since I posted one of these, but it's still just as fun to write lol
Feel free to give me more headcanons in the reblogs or whatever, and my askbox is always open (◕ᴗ◕✿)

My Timebomb fanfic from two years ago suddenly started getting a ton of traction on AO3 (hilarious, if you ask me), so I went looking through my drafts for another fanfic I remember writing at the time. It's not finished, it's not good enough for AO3 but I still want the Tumblr Whores to have it, so here:
Life is funny.
That was Ekko's last thought before he jumped off the roof and landed heavily on his hoverboard, making it heel over and skim the surface of the river below. It splashed his boots, the water seeping through the leather and reaching his socks. He stabilized himself and shot up. Time was a precious commodity he couldn't afford to waste.
A bullet barely missed the top of his head when he abandoned the cover of the wall. He spun above the building, keeping his eyes firmly locked on her.
Ah, Jinx. Destructive, dangerous, bad news in one of the most beautiful disguises nature could offer. The Firelights' worst concern. Little Man's biggest regret. She made him feel like she was the only one who could pump air in his lungs, his hands itched to strangle the wind out of hers. His first love, his most ardent hatred. He would gladly mourn her at her feet one second if he could drive a knife through her heart the next. Her features were familiar, she'd gotten rid of several faces he forced himself to add to the mural, right next to hers.
He would kill her today.
Would he hesitate?
Frustrated, he stomped the front of his board. It tilted forwards and he dove down, club in hand, ready to strike. Jinx saw him out of the corner of her eye and shot indiscriminately. As he dodged the first round, he suddenly thanked his gut for recommending he handled this particular mission alone. Her machine gun was effective to a fault with big groups, but much less so individually. It was heavy and even though she was definitely strong enough for it, it slowed her down and made her deadly aim slightly more manageable. All he needed was to eliminate some distance and he'd have her.
He swung when he got close. She ducked. Of course she ducked. Then it was just a game of speed: would he turn his hoverboard around the fastest, or would he get a bullet in the neck?
She won, she was always faster and faster. With the years, he'd learned he couldn't keep up. All he could do was face her for just the right amount of time for her shot to hit the board instead of him and send him tumbling to the ground.
Static noise fizzled in his ears on first impact. His mask cracked and fell apart a moment afterwards. He shook his head and the white dots on his field of vision disappeared. The club was still on his hand, Jinx had yet to open fire on him. That was all he needed to know before lunging forward, screaming.
She laughed. She always laughed, even as he knocked her beloved weapon out of her hands and forced her to back away to avoid his hits.
"Ah, Boy Savior," she proclaimed as if he were the guest she'd been expecting. "Long time no see. Came to check up on little old me? I'm touched."
He charged forward again. Yes, he had. He always did. Always on her heels to find out where she'd been, who she'd crossed, how she came out of those encounters she didn't try to avoid. "Studying the enemy", that was what he called it, what his Firelights thought it was. But some knew. Eve added tidbits about her in her reports, Scar dissuaded others from joining in missions just like this one when intel indicated she'd be around with a stern glance. They never brought it up, never shamed him for it, but they knew Ekko still saw a sliver of Powder in Jinx, even if he was pretty damn good at ignoring it.
She holstered herself up on a nearby pipe like a feline and his club met only metal. "Feeling very chatty today, aren't we?"
"Get down from there." He wiped the sweat off his upper lip.
"Nope."
"We're fighting."
"You're fighting, I wanna chat about our days and have a nice cup of tea together."
"Unless you wanna talk about Shimmer, I'm not interested."
"But that's so boring." She rested her chin on her fist and propped her elbow up on her knee. "And I have nothing to tell you that you don't already know, do I? I'm not in charge of that stuff. You should ask Sevika. I get it, she's not as pretty as me—"
"Enough chit chat," he cut her off and slammed his club into the pipe.
Smoke sizzled out of the dent he left in the metal. She bellowed when it clouded her, so she stood up, holding her gun with murderous intent. Her hand didn't tremble as she pointed down and slowly scanned her surroundings in search of a target. He crouched deeper into the makeshift fog. She was right above him. If he jumped—
"There you are."
A shot rang in his ear, missing his arm by an inch. The bullet ricocheted against the ground and clanked to a stop near his feet. He looked up and saw her sardonic smile, the ever present tinge of craze cranked to a hundred. The trajectory of the shot had cleared a straight path through the smoke.
One.
She fired again. He dodged and ran towards the areas where the smoke was denser. It did him no good; she just blew it off again. Two.
He dropped to the ground when a third bullet whistled by his ear. A fourth one lodged firmly into another pipe behind him, making it puke a dark goo all over his shoes. The one that flew off the roof was five and the one he managed to deflect with a bunt of his club was six.
No one was too much of a threat with an empty cartridge.
He kicked the parapet and propelled himself into the air. Jinx had a thumb on the cylinder, ready to push it open and reload, but she didn't get a chance. Her eyes flashed wide in surprise, and next thing she knew, he had hammered his weapon into her ribs and thrown her off the pipe.
They tumbled down together after he lost his momentum. He heard her gasp when she collided against something. His joints cried at the repeated abuse he put them through by falling from different heights, but he regained his footing immediately and attacked again. Even though she was still on the ground, she slithered away from the swing of his club. So he tried again and again. He hit the ground again. Curse her, she could never stop being faster than him, nimbler, more agile.
It had always been like this, hadn't it? She used to fit in every vent and alley like she fit in the cracks of his heart and he used to win wrestling matches with as much ease as he tore holes in the concrete roof.
Finally, she reached the edge. She tried rolling to the side, but he discarded the club and snagged her up by the shoulders. His fingers dug into what little flesh she had. She was all bone and skin that quickly turned purple in his grip. She growled and twisted, her nails pulling at his coat in a vain attempt to break free. But he rammed her body against the parapet and ignored her manic, wordless objections as he tried to bring himself to tighten his hands around her throat.
She spat on his face. "Violent behavior for a savior."
He clenched his fingers, adding just the tiniest bit of pressure. "Shut up."
"Come on!" She wheezed. "Do it, Boy Savior! Go all in before it's too late!"
"Shut up."
"Don't tell me you're scared!" Even choking, she laughed. "After all this time, you get scared now?"
"Shut up, shut up," he hissed, "shut up."
"You can shut me up," she suggested innocently. "Forever. But hurry up, I'm getting impatient here."
He was trying. He wanted to press down and get it over with. But Powder… No. Powder was dead. He was just getting rid of the corpse.
"Okay, yeah, you're taking too long." He felt cold steel against his side, right above his left hip. "My turn."
Of course, he thought. Of course she had modified her cartridge to hold seven bullets instead of six. Of course he'd failed to take that into account. Of course she'd wait until he had her to pull her final, most cruel prank.
Through the splotches of white in his vision, he saw Powder's muscles tense to push him off herself and dump him over the parapet. He saw her face, framed by choppy bangs, curiously peek over the side of the building as he fell. Her hand caressed her neck and the pain that blazed in his abdomen mixed with guilt. I'm sorry I hurt you. He tried to reach out to her, because goddamn, he missed her. I just wanted to save you.
But she was too far away and his body crashed into the warm water below. As he sank, he found out he couldn't swim. His mouth filled with water and blood as he tried to scream her name.
Everything went dark.

Jinx had already mentally prepared her thank-you speech for when Silco congratulated her for finishing off the leader of those pesky Firelights when she realized Ekko was going to drown.
Ekko.
Drown.
Die.
"Way to go, Jinx," Mylo leaned over the parapet to watch. "You killed the last one of us. Guess you can cross that off your list."
"I don't want to hear it," she growled, but she remained frozen in her spot, watching Ekko sink lower and lower.
Ekko.
Sink.
Drown.
Die.
"You're really going to let him die?" Claggor had always been kinder and more soft spoken. It was usually a welcome change from Mylo's harsh truths, but right now, it felt like a spear through the ribs. "Like this."
"Yes. No. I have to."
Claggor sighed, disappointed.
Ekko.
Die.
The water was polluted. If he magically didn't drown, the garbage would infect his wound and kill him painfully.
Had they hurt when they died?
"You know, it was unavoidable," Mylo continued. "One by one, we would all fall before the Jinx."
She barely registered his words through her throbbing pulse in her temples.
Ekko
Die.
Forever.
Gone.
Silco wouldn't be happy. Sevika would want her head. She didn't care what Sevika thought. Silco wouldn't congratulate her on this.
"Dive in first," Claggor encouraged her. "Think it through later."
Ekko.
He couldn't die.
Not like this, not yet.
Not by her hand.
"Give it up, Claggor, she can't save anyone." Mylo. Always so mean. "All she can do is break."
Ekko.
"—curse—"
He wouldn't die.
"—and jinx everything."
The rest of Mylo's insults were lost in the whooshing of the wind as she jumped.
- - -
Ekko stumbled in and out of consciousness. He saw his feet, half staggering, half dragging through mud. He heard cursing in a familiar voice. He felt something dense and warm trickling down his leg. Every cell on his body was on fire, but he was shaking.
It was so cold.
After half an hour of drowsy pain, a faint smell of trees brought him back. Green spots. Moonlight. Life. With extreme effort, he forced himself awake. The first thing he noticed was the bony arm holding him up, covered in swirls of blue.
"Welcome back, Boy Savior."
Powder?
Jinx.
He struggled weakly. If there was grass, there was only one place they could be. The Firelight Hideout. Jinx was in the Hideout. She had him, probably as a hostage. Scar wouldn't fight for him, neither would Eve or the others. He knew they'd surrender for him. It couldn't end like this. Powder had been the end of him, but Jinx wouldn't be the end of them.
"Woah, relax, silly." She tilted his weight onto herself. "You're hurt. Don't wanna bleed more than necessary, do we?"
His mind finally began to clear and he realized they were already in front of his cabin. She kicked the door open and walked him through. Helped? Impossible. It had to be a trick. He shoved her away and his side flared up in pain of a thousand colors as soon as he set his left foot down. His knees buckled underneath him and his back hit the desk.
"Would you stop that?" She yanked him up and threw his arm over her shoulder to support him. "Someone's going to hear us."
"If they do, all the better." He didn't try to break away again. She was the only thing keeping him standing and he didn't like the plan of falling and bleeding all over everything again. Because yes, he was bleeding, as far as he could tell by the wet stain on his pants and the puddle on the floor. "I'll scream. They'll get you."
"Please." She helped him lay down on the bed and turned around to lock the door. It worried him even more when she propped up a chair against it. "You know damn well your goons wouldn't last a minute against me."
They would. She was unarmed, possibly battered up from their fight, and completely surrounded. Then again, he wouldn't put it above her to blow everything up with one match and a bottle of soda.
So he opted to slowly settle down on the bed, moving as little as humanly possible. "They're not my goons."
"Don't go all semantics-crazy on me. Where do you keep the first aid kit?"
He pointed towards the closet. Soon enough, her weight dipped down the mattress by his side, and he didn't have the strength to kick her out.
"Okay, Boy Savior," she pulled out gauze and a latex glove and set them on the nightstand. "I'm taking the bullet out. It'll suck. Hold on to something."
"Are you insane?" He blocked her hand before she could get close to his wound. "Leave it there. Do you want me to bleed out?"
She looked him dead in the eye. "Do you know all the shit I put in my bullets? It's been an hour already. It's a marvel you're not dead. So stop moving if you don't want to die."
"I'll get a doctor instead."
"You don't need a doctor with me here."
"You are the reason I need a doctor at all."
"Oh shush." She set his hand down on the mattress by his side. "Hold your breath."
He closed his eyes and heard the latex snap against her skin. This was an awful idea. Life endangering even. And he let her? He really just allowed her to reach inside his wounds to pull out a bullet she put in? What in the world—
His entire body contorted when something that was once hard and cold came out warm and covered in things he needed to live. It was like opening a tap. Blood spilled like water out of a fountain and wet his clothes and his bed. He held back a scream. A hand clutched his own and he squeezed.
It wasn't like he hadn't lived through worse, but knowing it was Jinx patching him up hurt a hundred times more.
He slowly opened his eyes. She had pulled up his shirt up to his stomach and was wrapping clean cloth around his waist. He squinted at the way she swiftly worked with only one hand. She hadn't let go yet, so he did first and gripped the covers instead. He was still shaking.
Red seeped through the bandages, but she kept adding more until it was kept under control. The pressure on his hip felt relieving. Not good, not any less painful, but at least he wasn't dying.
He didn't thank her. He would never.
"There we go," she patted his side. "Good boy. Good Boy Savior."
"Do you ever shut up?"
"Nuh-uh," she wiggled a finger in the air. "No complaints are accepted if you throw away your shot at shutting me up."
His eyes landed on the dark marks in her neck. They were even, almost like they'd been painted with thin brush strokes instead of murderous intent. Powder wouldn't have forgiven him, he thought. But it didn't matter, because Powder was dead and he had no interest in asking for Jinx's forgiveness.
"You need to leave." He pushed himself up on one arm. To his surprise, she didn't try to keep him down, but rather wordlessly helped him to sit up. "Now."
"No."
Realization hit the bottom of his stomach like a punch to the gut. "How do you even know where this place is?"
She scoffed. "Are you kidding? I followed you a thousand times. Duh."
They knew. They had found them. A long time ago. If they hadn't attacked yet, that could only mean they had a terrifying fate ready for them. But they couldn't leave. They'd work too hard for their taste of paradise to give it up without a fight.
"What's Silco planning?" He seized her by the shoulders. "You have to tell me. What's he gonna do to us?"
"Silco doesn't know where you guys are."
His hands dropped. "What?"
"Only I know," she winked. "It's my secret."
"Why? Why didn't you tell him, if you knew?"
She shrugged. "He never asked."
He didn't find the words to answer that. So he didn't. He just stared at her unkempt braids and her bangs that stuck to her face. He belatedly realized he was drenched as well. That was why he felt so heavy. His coat had soaked up water like a sponge and his scarf had drawn so tightly around his neck he was almost choking. The covers around him were damp already.
Her eyes followed his and dropped on his clothes. "Come on, Boy Savior, let's get you out of those wet clothes."
She tugged at the lapels of his coat, but he snatched her wrist before she could pull it off him. "You need to leave."
"No." She closed her fist around the fabric, even as he held her hand as far away from him as his strength allowed him. "You're gonna go cold. Too early for that. You need to die first."
"I'll handle myself."
"You can barely move."
"And whose fault is that?"
"Just let me—"
"Let you what?"
Her silence sizzled in the air between them for all of the fourteen seconds she held his gaze (he counted). They'd gone darker, her eyes. Beyond all the the light in your eyes is gone bullshit, they seemed several shades deeper now. Maybe it was the poor lighting in his room. Maybe it was a natural effect of aging. How come it was such a surprise for him? He should have been with her for so much time he couldn't tell the differences between one day and the other until they found old photos and laughed at how much they'd changed since then. But no. He was there, in the moment, finding new things he had no way of knowing were there.
She had freckles on her nose now, and maybe they were why he loosened his grip on her when she said, "let me help. For once, let me do something right. Just one thing, one time. Let me help."
He gave up and rested his head back against the wall. She started with the coat, slowly sliding it off his shoulders. It was a weight off his back, almost immediate. She undid his utility belt and laid it on the desk, careful not to break anything. He didn't do anything to stop her from unwrapping his scarf, but made no move to help either. After all, she wanted to help, right? So let her help, let her manage.
Before she continued with the last layer of clothing, she got up to get new clothes to replace the wet ones with. Ekko closed his eyes. There was nothing in his closet he wanted to keep from her, or at the very least, nothing he could keep from her. Fabric rustled as she rummaged through the drawer. She was humming about bombs and bullets and tricks. Weird song. What was the original like? Powder— Jinx didn't have the best sense of rhythm and melody. For all he knew, she was singing gibberish to a made-up tune.
He jerked up when she tugged at his shirt. She immediately raised her hands in surrender. "Pinky promise I'm not making a weird move on you."

prompt: nice try, but you cant kill whats already dead
hehehe
She felt so free.
Sam flew through the air on her hoverboard, doing loops as she smiled into the open sky.
She finally got him. That ghost that was terrorizing the town. She had finally won their little feud they had going on between them.
It was over.
She was upside down in the middle of another loop when she saw a familiar mop of white hair. Startled, her hoverboard disappeared and she started falling towards the ground.
He looked up at her and his poisonous green eyes pierced straight through her. They widened when he must’ve realized she was falling. He shot up into the sky towards her.
Shit. Shit. She had to orient herself properly to get her hoverboard activated again. She did not want another repeat of hoverboard whiplash.
Sam finally got herself rightside up but before she could call on her hoverboard he caught her in his arms. They felt strong, sturdier than she’d think a ghost's arms would feel.
She smacked him in the chest and tried to push herself out of his grasp. “Let go of me, ghost scum!”
His grip on her tightened as she almost fell again. “You must love pancakes if you’re really this insistent in turning into one.”
She growled at him. “I know what I’m doing. Let go of me.”
The ghost boy shrugged and dropped her. Sam gasped as the wind rushed through her hair again.
This time she wasn’t turning and struggling midair, so she was finally able to call on her hoverboard safely. It materialized underneath her and after a few deep breaths she looked up at him. He was still watching her.
“How are you here?” She shouted up at him. “I killed you. I watched you melt into a puddle last week.”
He barked out a short laugh. “Nice try, but you can’t kill what’s already dead.” He shook his head and pushed the heels of his hands into his eyes. “I thought I was dead. I don’t know how I’m here.”
Her heart clenched against her will. Danny did that a lot when he was stressed out.
Sam willed her hoverboard to lift until she was next to him. He was still covering his eyes. She moved to sit on her hoverboard with her legs dangling off and he flinched as her boot scraped the surface. If she made him so nervous, why was he still here?
He laughed again but this one was different. It caught in his throat like he was trying to hold back tears. “I don’t even know why I’m here. You literally tried to kill me. You did kill me. And then I came back again. It didn’t take my ghost form long to reform but my-” He took a deep breath and pulled his hands away from his eyes and looked at her. His green eyes shone with tears and they looked at her with such grief. “I don’t want to fight you, Sam.”
She frowned at him, her brow furrowed. “Don’t you get yourself into fights all the time? Don’t you ghosts enjoy fighting? Isn’t that how you ruined my life?”
“I don’t get myself into fights. The other ghosts are either causing problems or come to pick a fight with me and I have to stop them. I don’t mean to cause trouble. I didn’t mean to ruin your life. I didn’t mean for any of that to happen.” He brought his legs up to his chest and tucked his head into his knees. “I wish it didn’t happen. I wish none of this had ever happened.”
Sam was both stunned and wary about this display. She shouldn’t trust this but part of her felt like she could. Like she wanted to.
“Why are you telling me this?” He peeked his face out from behind his knees when she asked. “What would you have to gain from talking to me like this?”
Phantom looked away but didn’t hide his face again. “I’m alone in this.”
“But what am I supposed to do with all this information?” Sam asked, confused. “I hate ghosts. I literally killed you last week. Why are you picking me of all people?”
He looked at her again. “You’re friends with the Fenton kid, right? You’ve known him for a long time?”
She gave him a confused look. Why the sudden shift in topic? “Yeah. We’ve been friends since elementary school. He’s one of my best friends.”
“When he came out to you, did you judge him?”
“What?” She pulled back at that question. Why would he even ask that? “Are you serious? Of course not. What does this have to do with our conversation? How do you even know about that?”
He ignored her and kept talking. “If he had something to tell you that would change everything you thought about him, would you hate him for it? Is your friendship strong enough to survive it?”
Why was Phantom even talking about Danny? There was no reason for him to know anything about Danny. “What are you talking about? I’d never hate him. Are you trying to turn me against my best friend?” She shouted at him.
“He’s thought of telling Tucker, but Tucker wouldn’t understand quite as much as you would. He’s struggling with this secret and he wants to tell you but he can’t. You’d hate him. He has to watch you hate half of him without you even knowing it.”
Sam’s anger swelled. “What do you even know? Why would you even be talking to Danny? His parents are ghost hunters. You don’t know anything about him.”
He choked out another laugh. “Ironic, right? I know more about him than you’d think.”
“How?” She asked. He just shrugged. “Are you spying on us?”
“What? No, I mean- No! Not technically.” He lowered his knees back down. “It’s complicated.”
She closed her eyes. She could feel him dancing around something. Like he wanted her to pry it out of him instead of him having to admit it.
“You’re not spying on us?”
“No. I-” He looked away. “It’s not something you’d ever imagine.”
What?
She took a deep breath and blew it out.
“Okay.” Sam glared at him. “Twenty questions.”
He sat up a little straighter, another lighter laugh escaping him. “Seriously?”
“Seriously.” She stared him straight in the eyes. “His birthday?”
“April third.” Phantom said. He turned to face her fully.
“That ones easy enough.” Sam took a moment to think. “Least favorite class in school?”
Phantom did a fake gagging motion. “English.”
“What did he really want as a kid?”
“That one’s also pretty easy since a lot of kids want one. A puppy.”
Sam could feel Phantom waiting for something. Is he waiting for her to ask something he can’t answer? Is he hoping that something slots into place for her? Like she's seconds away from finding the last puzzle piece?
“What’s Danny’s favorite model rocket?”
His eyes widened and he looked at her like she just asked the winning question. She doesn’t know what answer she’s looking for but she knew she was about to get it.
“His favorite space model isn’t actually a model rocket. It’s his opportunity rover model that sits on his bedside table.”
A feeling she can’t name bowls over her. “How do you know that? That’s…”
“Something he shared with you and Tucker at the last sleepover you had?” His lips quirked up into a cautious smile.
“Which was a couple weeks ago. So my equipment would’ve picked you up if you’d been spying on us. It only picked up-”
“Danny’s ectosignature.”
The piece finally started moving into place. She stared at him with wide eyes, her heart racing. “You know I always wondered why Danny had an ectosignature.”
“He said it was because he lived so much of his life around ectoplasm.” Phantom said softly.
“But his parents don’t have ectosignatures.” Sam whispered.
Phantom shook his head. “No. They don’t.”
He floated over and sat down next to her on her hoverboard. She could hardly breathe through her mounting horror and she couldn’t pull her gaze away from him. Her heart was trying to hammer its way out of her chest and Phantom’s expression implied his was doing the same.
“I can’t say it.” She whispered through her short breaths. “You have to.”
He broke their eye contact as a white ring appeared around his waist, dragging her gaze down to it. As it split and traveled across both halves of his body, a tear rolled down her cheek.
From in between the rings a very familiar tshirt appeared. Sam’s eyes trailed the ring as it moved up and Phantom’s white hair turned into inky black. The rings disappeared and tears were silently racing down Sam’s cheeks. He looked back up at her slowly and the eyes that looked back at her were Danny’s comforting blue eyes instead of Phantom’s green.
Sam couldn’t hold it in anymore and a sob tore itself out of her chest. She threw her arms around Danny’s shoulders and she felt him tense up for a moment before he wrapped his arms tightly around her back. Her shoulders shook with her sobs and she could feel that Danny was crying now too.
She raised a hand to the back of his head to card her fingers through his hair. “I’m so sorry.” She whispered. “I’m so sorry for everything. I didn’t know. If I had known- I wish I hadn’t-”
“I know.” Danny shushed her. “Me too. But it’s okay now. I’m okay. I’m here.”
She tightened her grip around him as her body shook. “You’re okay. You’re here.”
He was okay. He was here.

happy truce @maxattax!! I used your prompt about Valerie finding Phantom injured and deciding to help him. Hope you enjoy!
It was the afternoon and with every second Valerie was regretting getting up that morning more and more.
First she woke up with what seemed like a beginning of a cold, just enough of a sore throat and a headache to be unpleasant, but not really serious to make her miss school without feeling guilty about it. So she got up, got ready, and arrived just in time for first period and a history quiz she was completely unprepared for. Then right at the end of lunch her equipment detected a ghost nearby, but when she got there it had already been handled by Phantom, so she didn’t even get to blow off steam and still ended up being late.
So now she was stuck in detention, feeling her cold slowly getting worse and quietly missing the days when she would’ve blamed Phantom for all of it, kicked his ass and went home satisfied.
Well, alright, not really missing. She did appreciate his help in many situations, and even if they weren’t exactly friends, it was still comforting to have an ally who understood some aspects of her job. It just... had been easier back then. And definitely less awkward. He may be a fellow teenager – or at least teenager-shaped – but that did not help with the fact that he was also a dead guy and she did not know how to deal with dead people. Except with violence.
She sighed yet again, trying to focus on her homework instead of cringing at her attempts at small talk with Phantom earlier.
Until a loud sound startled everyone in the room.
Guess the homework wasn’t meant to be. The sound seemed to be coming from elsewhere in the school, a falling roof or wall perhaps? Either way, she should be getting out there.
After using the commotion to sneak out, she quickly equipped her suit and flew through the school into the gym to find a giant sinkhole. That seemed to be still growing. That was... probably related to ghosts, somehow. She tried looking into the hole when suddenly the ground shook, she felt her feet slipping on the hoverboard and then everything went black.
Valerie opened her eyes and found herself in a tunnel.
Wait, that wasn’t right, wasn’t she falling into a sinkhole? But here she was, between two brick walls and under one brick ceiling, the passages in both directions branching out and turning. It vaguely reminded her of catacombs she saw in movies, except that did not make any sense in Amity Park, because it wasn’t supposed to have those.
Then again, many things did not make sense in Amity Park, and yet still happened.
Deciding that’s a problem for future Valerie, she picked a direction at random and started walking, ecto gun in hand. The tunnels weren’t exactly tight, but the space was still limited, so she’d prefer to be prepared for a fight. Especially since unlike her, a ghost wouldn’t have to worry about bumping into a wall.
Speaking of ghosts, there was something green glowing on the floor. It didn’t take a very close look for her to recognize liquid ectoplasm, forming a trail down one of the paths. There was a couple possibilities what it could mean, including a trap, but well, at least it was something. So she followed it. The drops seemed to be getting more frequent until she encountered its’ source.
Good news: it was Phantom. It was a bit of a relief to encounter a familiar face in this maze. Unfortunately there was also bad news: he seemed to be in a bad shape, slumped by the wall, covered in cuts and bruised, his face scrunched up tightly in pain while holding his side. He hadn’t even noticed her before she ran up to him.
“Phantom? What happened to you?”
“Val? Ah, ouch,” he winced and adjusted his posture, “what are you doing here, you’re not supposed to be here!”
“Excuse you-” She started offended, but he interrupted her with placating gesture.
“No, I mean, you know we’re trapped by a ghost, right? Well, he’s kinda after me.”
“I’m still here though, and you know I’m not one for sitting out a fight. Are you okay? You look rough. What happened to you?”
Phantom sighed, clearly reluctant to explain. “I’ve been better. And, uh, it’s kinda a long story...”
She let him rest for a minute while she looked over him and debated what to do. He probably would be okay, but should they wrap up his wounds? Can ghosts get infections? She left her first aid kit in her locker, and even then who knows if that would work on a ghost...
It was strange feeling so worried about Phantom, when not long ago she would only think of him as her mortal enemy. Even if her getting into this mess was an accident, she still wanted to help him, like an ally, maybe even a friend.
“I want to hear that story, but first, um, just to make sure, are you gonna bleed out? Can you bleed out? I don’t have any bandages or anything...”
Phantom seemed to be considering something then looked at her, unsure. “I might have some, but not without making the story longer. Promise you won’t be mad?”
She didn’t get to answer before a bright light temporarily blinded her, and when she opened her eyes again, she saw...
“Fenton?!” Right there, in the same spot as Phantom, sat her living human friend, now bruised in purple and red. He scratched his neck awkwardly, before taking off his backpack and pulling out a big first aid kit. He put it between them, as if a shield from her reaction.
Her normal first instinct would probably be anger. But it was already a long day, she was tired, sick, and worried about her friend, so she just reached into the kit and started taking in the supplies.
Questions were lining up in her head but for now she just smiled at her friend gently.
“You weren’t kidding with the long story. Take your time.”
