Did Ekko Make Jinx’s Prosthetic Finger?

I’m curious what other people think, but I don’t think Jinx made her prosthetic finger. The only thing about it that screams JINX to me is the painted smiley face. That’s it.

It’s far too practical and simple of a design to be made by Jinx; seriously, if you remove the smiley face, you wouldn’t be able to tell this was her finger.

By comparison - Fishbones was a complete and total surprise to me when I first watched Arcane and yet I didn't question his existence for a single second; because of course Jinx made a giant shark bazooka. That makes perfect sense given everything we know about her.

With this finger though, I’m like... maybe she made it under these specific circumstances, but even then, I doubt it, because she’s so committed to her aesthetic.

She consistently goes all out, even when there's no reason to.

She individually painted each of her moth bombs, you know the things designed for the sole purpose of exploding. And yet, I'm supposed to believe she made her own finger and only drew a smiley face on it?! Really?!

Are we sure we’re talking about Jinx?

Jinx’s two guns from S1 are her most practical and aesthetically simple designs and even they have more flourish, I mean one’s pink for fuck’s sake.

So, if Jinx didn’t make her own finger, then who did?

Ekko!!

He's the only one who makes sense to me.

Now maybe this is just my delusional Timebomb wishing heart, it's certainly a possibility, but looking over the Firelights’ hoverboards, accessories, and home, Jinx’s prosthetic finger doesn’t look out of place.

There’s no perfect match to Jinx's finger; but overall, the design itself, plus the color and the specific way the metal looks worn and is clearly repurposed – looks very Ekko/Firelights to me.

To be clear, beaten up or repurposed anything (especially metal) is not an Ekko only thing, not by a long shot, as it’s found throughout Zaun.

It is Zaun.

Still, the way Ekko and Jinx’s aesthetics come through their designs and inventions, usually makes them very identifiable and this finger looks far more like Ekko, than it does Jinx. Even the color says Ekko to me.

Neither one exclusively uses a single color/type of metal, but Jinx tends to favor metals that are grey, while Ekko favors more bronze or coppery colored metals - like Jinx's finger.

The color is by no means a smoking gun, it’s just this bit of extra oddness.

It already felt super odd the design is so simple and practical but on top of that - she also didn't opt for her usual grey metals? Even in the smallest of details, this finger doesn’t feel like Jinx; and Arcane is so specific and detail oriented with its designs.

Now, obviously Ekko is not the only other inventor in Zaun, but I can't see Jinx using something just anyone made, let alone a new body part. Maybe she would for practicality’s sake, but as soon as she could, she would either customize it to her own aesthetic or just make her own.

She's so specific and intentional with her everything, so why would she make an exception for her new finger; something that's going to be attached to her body and used by her for a decently long time.

The fact this design seems to be Jinx's permanent new finger makes me assume whoever made it, did a good enough job that it met Jinx’s standards and they're important enough to her she was content to just draw a cute little smiley face on it and nothing more.

And right now, I only see Ekko being that person.

[Review] Sonic Free Riders (Xbox 360)

They made hoverboards fun and exciting, then the fans made it actually playable.

After Zero Gravity, Sonic Team were apparently not done with the Riders series. Not done using it for motion control experiments, that is. The next and final instalment was a launch title for Microsoft's ill-fated Kinect motion sensor accessory. This camera apparatus could track a player's full body and so you needed a large, empty area to play your games in, which has never been practical for me. So I considered this game essentially lost media as far as I was concerned, until I recently learned about a mod that reworked the game for traditional controllers that I could use on an emulator. The updated version of this patch was buggy but the original release worked a treat and I was finally able to experience this title.

Compared to previous entries, the plot is very low-stakes. Eggman is hosting another racing tournament in disguise, shenanigans ensue. The cutscenes are merely static character portraits, the dialogue nothing but banter and posturing with the framing device of Omochao reporting on the racing for a TV broadcast. But the strength this has over prior Riders games is including a broader range of the cast, with Teams Rose and Dark being involved and playable in their own story modes in addition to the usual Heroes and Babylon stories. Well, Team Dark is missing Omega and substitutes a random eggbot who is more than it appears in perhaps the only notable story development. And Team Rose is Amy, Cream, and... Vector... so Team Sonic Racing wasn't the first to randomly force him in to fill out another team, or to have a weird addition to Team Rose.

As for the racing, from what I could tell from the tutorial, there's a lot of actions you need to be able to do. It seemed complex and the pace of gameplay quite fast for something you control just with various body motions to an unresponsive IR sensor grid. In other words, compared to Zero Gravity it didn't feel as compromised by the control scheme, and translated reasonably well to a controller, so it's a shame they never officially offered that as an option. The game reviewed terribly at the time on the basis of its controls, but with a pad in hand I had a fun time. Sure it was easy most of the way through, but by the very last stages it did even offer a decent challenge.

There's no drifting, but a heavy turn assist helps with cornering. There's a boost function that drains your air meter, as well as a "lean forward (tilt control stick up) to go faster" mechanic. Stunts are done in Zero Gravity style, by jumping at the right time off a ramp, although you can spin to do a better trick (not supported in the original mod release). Arm flailing is a factor, where you can lean to grab rings that are just off the course, throw items that skew a little more Mario Kart in their effects while still being unique, rub steam or splatter off your screen, or grab poles to swing around and take shortcuts. As a power character you can punch to destroy obstacles, and flight characters have to have arms outstretched to remain airborne when necessary. It sounds exhausting but all these functions are mapped pretty well to a controller in the mod, and I got to grips with them quickly. And while it may sound overloaded with gimmicks, I thought it was a better balance than the previous games of keeping up your pace while doing them, or being ignorable entirely.

It may sound like I'm being contrary but this quickly became my favourite of the Riders games. Because it expects you to be flolloping around, it's so much more forgiving and I found I wasn't constantly struggling against the game and its demands. It integrates a mission-like structure into the campaign so most of the time you're doing various objectives and single-lap runs of the courses in story mode, which moves things along at a quick pace. It also looks gorgeous, the environments varied and ultra-colourful, helped of course by being in HD for the first time. The tracks have fun setpieces like toboggan or minecart sections, jumping onto rooftops, or surfing while being pulled by a dolphin.

Free Riders kind of fulfilled the promise of what I wanted the series to be, for the first time. Fast-paced and bombastic, not overly punishing or bland. It's such a shame that that lively energy had to be locked behind an impractical peripheral gimmick. The assets were all there for a potential conversion or fourth instalment that takes the strengths but makes it play like a normal video game that people can actually play... but alas. As is often the case in the Sonic series, it was up to the fans to fix what Sega had broken, and I'm very thankful to Rei-SanTH for doing so in this case (please fix not being able to turn right on v1.1!).

"It's her!" An Inx fan screamed and pointed at the pair of blue braids in the wind. The Inxs erupted into sobs and ecstatic screaming at Jinx's arrival.

A wave of blue and pink hair and tattoos greeted the pair when they landed their hoverboards.

Ekko looked on at them in bemusement. Jinx bit her lower lip and snickered, she nudged Ekko with her elbow. "Hey, watch this,"

She released his hand to take one of her bullet casings from her braid and threw it. The members pushed and shoved while they shouted at each other to grab it.

"This is great!" Jinx laughed then threw another bullet casing from her braid.

Ekko furrowed his eyebrows and frowned while the crowd went into another frenzy fighting over it. "Isn't this weird?"

"Of course it is. Look at them," she motioned her head at her fans.

"They're all copycats...but I kinda like it. I have so much influence-power over them. They worship me. Even my hair accessory makes them go into a frenzy.

They'll do whatever I say when I say it. It's like I have my own army." she grinned widely, her eyes dilating from the power high.

"They can be useful to us." she held both of his hands. "I can sell my wepons to them and I can make a buttload of money! And with the Firelights and the Inxs, we can fuck over the Chembarons and Topsiders."

Ekko took her idea into consideration. "I guess I can see it."

"Don't just guees. Know. This will benefit the both us,angel." she beamed. "You're my V.IJ-"

"Your what?"

"You're Very Important to Jinx," she cupped his cheek. "Whatever you say, they have to listen too. We just have to stay here and have fun. Okay?"

Ekko thought it over and eventually nodded.

"Great! Let's go to the merch table, Little Man." she kissed his other cheek.

She turned to the crowd and glared at them. "Get out our way!"she ordered. The Inxs stopped their fighting to move out their way.

Ekko was disconcerted as they fell to their knees to kiss the ground she walked on. 

"This is one hell of a date night." he muttered.

Jinx looked behind her and snickered again. "They can kiss the flloor all they want,"

She leaned to whisper in his ear, "You're the only one that can kiss other parts of me, Loverboy." she winked with a salacious grin.

Ekko chuckled. "You're damn right." he smirked and then wrapped his arm around her waist.

"I'm always right."

"Of course you are. You got that from me."

"Oh, shut up!" she giggled and swatted his chest.

I think I've figured out why they gave movie tails a jetpack

There's this weird belief certain western writers/audiences pass around. Some people think that Tails' design is "empty" and "fails" to convey that he's the smart one. So they add pointless accessories to him to help convey his intelligence.

God forbid a Sonic character show off their traits and qualities through actions rather than meaningless cosmetics I guess

When the games give the characters items/new accessories, they usually have proper justification. Like the sporty clothes they have in Sonic Riders. They're having fun on hoverboards and dressed for the occasion. Or the upgrades in the Adventure games. Those are meant to visually convey to the player that they're making progress and that the character's abilities are different now.

There's a lot more examples, but my point is that when a character gets a new accessory in the games, it means something.

Bullshit like giving Tails a jetpack has no justification or meaningful relevance to the character. It doesn't change or add anything. It's only clutter. Tails is already fast and can fly, so what the hell is that jetpack doing?

Aristocratic is home to the two girls. It is a planet and a member of the Circle. The Circle is made up of four remaining plants ln their region of the universe. They are named Vying, Commiseration, Mips, and Aristocratic. Each planet is held together by its rulers, but these rulers can not make any big important decisions without the councial. Commiseration, the first planet, is a place full of fields and flowers. The queen of this plant, Anana Lovely, has a younger son named Griffin Lovely and an older daughter named Flora Lovely. Griffin is 1200 years old, and Flora is 157,0 years old. Living on this planet, small cottage-like houses are most common. Citizens of Commiseration make a good income working in flower shops, bakeries, or local bookshops is fairly sunny, there happens to be wind most of the time. clothing worn would be flowy dresses that end before your ankles, or right under your knees worn with a sweater or baggy dress pants with an undershirt and a sweater. Flower prints are most common and wearing small jewelry. Fields of flowers can be found almost anywhere along with small streams and ponds.

The second plant is Vying. The queen and king Maximus Champion and Akeeva Champion, are strong competitive leaders. They have two children, a son named Ajeeta Champion and a daughter names Ajeitha Champion. Ajeeta is 162,5 and Ajeitha is 103,o. Vying is quite different from the other plants in many aspects. They are far more advanced in technology than the others and are considered more city-like. Vying is quite rainy or moist most of the time. The rain in Vying is acidic. Experiencing this rain a good amount shouldn't affect you much but since the citizens live in and experience this rain daily they must take perceptions. Vying is a very populated place and work is scarce. Working for the royal family is what most people do. But it is not that hard to provide for yourself by fixing and building devices and gadgets. Living spaces are renovated garages and big buildings on top of each other. Fashion is unique to every person. Tight full-bodysuit clothing made out of rubber is worn to protect them from the weather conditions. The suite has padding and comes in variety of colors, and various choices of accessories. Most of the citizens take up hobbies like hoverboarding the suites also help protect them from these dangerous activities. Regular clothing can be worn over the suites as well.

Mips is the third plant. The queen and king are Kala Flower and Charles Flower the ll. Their son is Charles Flower the lll. He is 152,0. If you live in Mips then you are probably a farmer. Mips is one of the poorer planets so it is smart to farm your own food. Painters make good money because the Royals of Mips have a love for art. There is usually rain off and on in Mips so it is a muddy planet. Swamp land can be found further from where the people live. Dress attire is long dresses, pants, handmade shirts, warm wool coats, and big sweaters. Earthy colors are the most common. People live on their own land with farms or in the village near the castle.

Now where our story is focused is the fourth plant, Aristocratic. Last but not least their queen is Azrael Storm. Her two daughters are Mealva Strom and Regina Storm. Mealva is 180,9 and Regina is 151,6. Having jobs like a banker, train worker, shoemaker, tailor, or seamstress would make a good living. Victorian houses are the style to live in. Most houses are close together. It always seems cold there no matter what time of year it is. Snow decorates the tops of the houses. Gothic Victorian is the style people of this plant dress in. Most popularly seen clothing would include short dresses with a waistline that ends under the chest, vest suits, corsets, fluffy fur coats, belled sleeves, big chunky shoes like mary Jane and boots, lace, velvet, and silk are often worn fabrics. The planet has an enormous ocean because of this pirates' rome this planet's seas. This is the main reason why people never come to Aristocratic…along with plenty of others.

The two girls enter the castle they are followed by two guards as they begin to take their journey to the throne room, where their mother sits, Queen Azrael Storm, waiting for her two daughters to arrive. As they enter the dead silent room the enormous door shuts behind them making a loud thud. The walls have a black wallpaper with dark purple flowers. If you look up you can see that the roof is round and made of black stained glass. Through the glass you can see vines covering it. At the back of the room sits the extravagant throne with purple cushions, the rest is black, skulls of animals and humans surround the tall chair, two swords sit at the side of her. The children get to their knees in front of the woman staring into their soul they then bow.

“How did the training go?” said the queen, quickly looking at Regina's leg and then turning her gaze to Malva.

“Exceptionally! well on my end though for Regina, i could say otherwise”

“I won!” the dark-haired girl spoke up.

“No no, you cheated”

“It’s not cheating it-”

“Regina used her powers…again.” spoke Malva

“Oh, my sweet daughter… how many times must I tell you that just because you have an advantage does not mean you need to use it?! Malvaa leave shoo.” said the queen as she waved her hand back and forth.

The girl got up off her knees and walked out of the room, stopping for a moment to glance behind herself as she closed the big doors behind her. Azrael was massaging the side of her forehead as she stared up at Regina still on her knees. The queen widened her eyes, then rolled them.

“Up my daughter I have something to show you.” The queen then stood up from her throne and began to walk out of the room Regina followed not far behind, and four guards followed two in front and two in the back. The two women walked out the doors of the throne room down dark hallways only lit by candles mounted on the walls that seem to never go out. They took left and then right. It's quite easy to get lost in the castle these women called home. Finally, they came to a round wide black door with carvings in it. In the middle of the door was a circle with a hole where a key would go. The Queen stepped forward. She took out a knife from her bra and slit her thumb then put her thumb up against the small keyhole, she sucked her thumb clean as the door opened. The guards stood outside the room as Regina and her mother walked in. In the middle of this small room stood a rectangular table made out of black stone with symbols carved into it.

“Well Regina you do know how old you are now don't you.”

“no mother enlighten me.”

Regina knew what her mother was going to discuss, a boy, not any boy Regina happened to know a boy of the plant Mips well in fact he is the prince of the neighboring planet. She had heard it all before a few hundred years back her mother and the boy's parents had agreed for the two children to get married. Though last time Regina checked she is not legally allowed to get married. Azrael began to pour drinks as she spoke

“I have spoken to the king and queen of Mips and we have come to a decision that you and the young prince are to meet.”

“but that's not the deal I am not to meet this imbecile till we are to marry”

“plans change Regina, must I remind you why I have agreed to this my dear hm?”

“no, I…I remember mother”

“really do you 'cause you're not acting like it! That stupid plant can't fend for itself so they have to come running to me, nothing new. But you, my daughter, really know why I accepted the offer, don't you?” said the queen as she grabbed her daughter by the shoulders and whispered in her ear she then graded her dress and walked to the other side of the table. She wiped her hand just above the flat service. small bright purple dots appeared above the table. They looked like stars in the far off sky. As the queen began to speak, the stare-like figures would create an animation to go along with what she was saying.

“We will provide the small plant with everything they need because the stars know we have enough and in return their sweet prince's hand in marriage. A big lovely wedding declaring you the ruler of both Mips and Aristocratic and as you gain the trust of the people and… well you know the plan my dear I don't need to waste my breath explaining”

“Yes yes mother but why are we talking about this”

“Oh yes. In a month you will meet the prince for tea here at the castle”

“what! No, I am nowhere near prepared for this!”

“One month Regina!” yelled her mother as she walked out of the room and down the hall to prepare for dinner.

New paint supplies, an easel, some other painting supplies, and hedgehog care supplies. Check." *They moved on to the next items* "Deanne, medical textbooks, new jewelry, a new laptop, and sports equipment. Check... Molly, new fairytale books, 150 jellycat plush animals, club room materials, a megaphone, winter clothing, Halloween decorations, a clipboard, a Polaroid camera, and an inflatable hamster ball... check. Megan, a new bag, stationary, Sanrio items, and wing warmers. Check. Sativa, beads, wing warmers, some new dresses and accessories. Check." *They moved onto the next section for the non-student union staff, but the folks at the mansion* "Reaper is gettin cat toys n a new skateboard... check. Nod is gettin office decorations, check. Mister Summers is gettin top of tha line brand new kitchen utensils, wood carvin supplies, n 50 cases of water... check. Mihai, a PlayStation 5 n a new laptop... check. Mister Wagner, new gymnasium equipment, check. Miss Rogue's gettin new romance novels n heavy duty cat toys, check... Teenage Warhead's gettin two 12 foot skeletons with costumes n a giant Kuromi plushie, check. Yukio is gettin a giant Hello Kitty plushie, n a ton of limited edition hard ta find Sanrio merch... yeup. Eel's gettin a yacht n a hoverboard wheelchair... yup, gonna hafta make a secondary trip fer tha yacht... Mister Howlett is gettin a brand new motorcycle with a helmet. Yup, all here... Forget-Me-Not is gettin new baking supplies n equipment. Lina has new bass strings, Miss Frost has new lipstick, Phantom has a Broadway year pass n new compression gloves, n ta tie it up, Miss Howlett has 50 sets of winter clothing to give ta kids." *Pyxis lets out a sigh of relief once everything is accounted for. Everything else for the order was packed into their mail-van to deliver separately* *They soon climbed into the driver's seat and started making their way towards Xavier's. And for the first time in their 102 years on Earth, they were sweating from their intense labor of loading the truck, and braced themselves to offload the truck upon arrival, their forklift sitting in the back of the truck since most things were on crates* @xaviers-student-union

General admission (pit tickets):

OVERNIGHT CAMPING IS NOT ALLOWED AT THE VENUE!

Guests can begin lining up no earlier than 8AM on the day of show, June 30.

Sequentially numbered wristbands will be put on GA guests’ wrists starting at 9AM on a first come, first served basis

Guests must have a valid ticket to receive a wristband, and all guests in a party must be present to receive a wristband.

Any guests that have camped overnight or arrived before 8AM will not be given wristbands and will be sent to the back of the line.

You may leave after you receive your wristband.

You may return at 3PM to queue for General Admission entry.

Security will honor wristbands from 3PM – 4PM.

After 4PM, guests will join the line on a first come, first served basis.

Loss, removal or tampering with a wristband will result in loss of place in the GA line.

Guests are not permitted to hold places in line. Please be respectful and courteous to all other guests in line.

Have your mobile tickets open and ready to scan to expedite entry upon doors opening at 5:30PM.

Shuttles: shuttles are available to take you to and from the Hollywood Bowl from allover LA County ($6-7) info here and buy here.

Parking: parking is limited at the Hollywood Bowl. Closer lots sold out. Currently available lots $20, buy here, info and map here. No overnight parking. You may need to walk a lot, wear comfortable shoes.
