Damon Herriman as Lester Sinclar/Roadkill Driver
House Of Wax - 2005 remake
The Wolf Fairytaler: Despite the fact that we don't know much about Lester, the film does give us enough context to figure out who he is as a person. And it's pretty sad. Even though he is a Sinclair, he's pretty much nonexistent in Ambrose, as well as in his own family. Lester was the third unimportant son that death had also forgotten about. Sure, he's free from what was left of his family. But as far as we know, Lester dosen’t have anybody besides Jonesy. He's always involuntarily left alone, and while I think he does like that at times, a part of me thinks he also craves the companionship and attention he never got.

My boy almost died, how dare you Bo!
Standford and Stanley waved enthusiastically as Lester’s truck rumbled away, the hefty form of his dog, Jonesy, peering out the window with an eager expression. Once the dust settled from the vehicle’s departure, the boys exchanged a glance that seemed almost woven from the same fabric of thought. “He’s definitely not normal,” they declared in unison, their voices brimming with a blank yet amused glint in their eyes. Which they meant in a positive way, of course, because the Stan twins didn't see themselves as normies.
With a shared sense of purpose, they scampered down the worn path toward the nearby stream, a spot that had become a cherished sanctuary. Kneeling by the cool water, they scooped refreshing droplets into their hands, drinking deeply while the sunlight danced across the surface. The boys often marvelled at the beauty of their surroundings lush greenery, the rustling of leaves, and the melodic whispers of nature - as they recharged before embarking on their next step on the plan.
As they resumed their trek along the winding road, a magnetic pull guided their steps further away from the town Lester had spoken of. It was an instinct they couldn’t quite articulate, yet they felt it resonate in their twin hearts, a feeling that going there wasn’t just unwise; it was an invitation to something far more dangerous than they could comprehend. Their twin telepathy painted faint images in their minds, murmuring warnings that hummed through their thoughts.
their moment of silence was interrupted by a gunshot ringing out across the way. the wind from the bullet could be felt right next to Stanley's head in particular.. though it missed him only by a few inches. then a loud annoyed groan followed.. then the sound of the gun reloading.. Someone was now running at the two from behind. and from just in front of them came the masked male from before. He to began to run towards them. knives in hand. The two males were attempting a ambush now.. they're tactic was unfortunately sloppy as they hadn't planned for Bo to miss his mark the first time. if he hadn't. they wouldn't be on the hunt together.. it wasn't their thing. though if they had to.. like now. they'd do it.

HOUSE OF WAX (1953)
Tumblr media
This classic horror has more of a cohesive story that is incredibly strong from start to finish than its 2005 remake of the same name. A very captivating story with really rather stunning wax sculptures (again, especially compared to the 2005 remake by the same name). The acting is lovely, the music is grand, and I found myself pleasantly surprised by the twist (I gasped out loud, alone). Truly a fun and compelling watch!
⭐⭐⭐⭐.5
Tumblr media
The wax figures in this movie are top notch, I mean, hotdog! I’m looking at these and I’m not sitting here thinking that the prop guys just coated a mannequin in wax, they actually did the damn thing and made ART. I feel like I can usually tell in horror movies when they use a body double instead of just the actor pretending to be dead but these wax figures pretending to be the dead bodies pretending to be wax sculptures… I’m getting ahead of myself, we aren’t there yet. Right now, they are just wax sculptures. Or are they? Yes they are. (For now.)
Tumblr media
We find out our resident artist Jarrod von Mustache is not very well liked by his financier (which, if you don’t like art, don’t fund art), so even after Jarrod and his Mustache show how passionate they are about the sculptures, moneybags burns down the studio and all the wax folk. My heart ACHED when everything was burning (That and I will never understand risking someone's life for money). When Jarrod said he would rather die than say goodbye to his art (or his mustache) he meant it, or at least that someone would die, because big boss took a trip down an elevator shaft.
Tumblr media
Suddenly a man with a suspiciously burn-scarred face is running around murdering folks (and these folks just happen to disappear from the morgue, but who cares, right?) but it’s not Jarrod because he still has his mustache and is crippled now. Mystery! Sue is our brunette babe who Jarrod sees a muse in (yikes) so thus begins the hunt. Sue spots the murderer and deftly avoids him twice! Even realizes that her friend with the annoying laugh is in the House of Wax as Joan of Arc. Sue is smart! She also knocks off Jarrod's incredibly realistic mask of his own face to reveal the burn scars! (Phantom of the Opera vibes like crazy but not as romantic.)
Tumblr media
It was Jarrod all along! He had help from his little art henchmen, but he had a super realistic wax mask on. What a clever twist. I gasped so loudly when she shattered his mask off. I really had no idea it was him after they had shown his face being untouched previously! Now one of the little art henchmen begs the cops to stop Jarrod in a scene that I think really shows off how much alcoholism is a disease but I digress. Next is lots of fighting and the police are actually really helpful. I feel like if the movie happened in any other time period the police would sit around and not be that helpful because of protocol but these guys just rushed right in which is what Sue needed at that exact moment or else she was going to become a candle.

hi mx meat ^_^ do u have any horror movie recs for someone who’s trying to get into the genre? classics and such?
omg yes yes yes!!!!
slashers: halloween (1978), a nightmare on elm street (1984), the texas chainsaw massacre (1974), scream (the ultimate slasher, i would watch this after watching the first three listed here), black christmas (1974), you’re next, and a couple of 00’s slasher remakes i think everyone should watch at some point for being total encapsulations of how mean the 00’s were: house of wax (2005) and sorority row (2009)
zombies: night of the living dead (1968), dawn of the dead (1978), day of the dead (1985), 28 days later, train to busan, shaun of the dead, return of the living dead
paranormal: the shining (1981), poltergeist (1982), the changeling (1980), the innocents (1961), crimson peak, the devil’s backbone, ju-on, ringu, pulse (2001), talk to me, candyman (1992)
vampires: the lost boys, interview with a vampire (1994), near dark, fright night (1985), dracula (1931), bram stoker’s dracula (1992), buffy the vampire slayer (1992), the hunger, let the right one in
dark magic/possession/devils and demons: jennifer’s body, rosemary’s baby, the exorcist, the witch, the craft, the omen (1976), evil dead (1981), evil dead 2, suspiria (1977)
creatures: ginger snaps, the thing (1982), alien, aliens, american werewolf in london, the mist, the faculty, the fly (1986), invasion of the body snatchers (1978), it (2017), the babadook, jaws
other: teeth, donnie darko, american psycho, get out, the rocky horror picture show, the phantom of the paradise, carrie (1976), videodrome, may, it follows, hereditary, saw, hellraiser (1987), child’s play (1988), final destination (2000), psycho (1960)
here’s a lil smattering of what the genre has to offer!! i tried to give you some range in eras and subgenres and mood while also maintaining a pretty classic intro list to horror! i hope you enjoy a few of these and if you like one, the best thing about horror is there’s literally 100+ more movies just like it out there, so if you ever need a more niche curated list once you’ve found out what you like just hmu again and i gotchu!!!!! <33333

Hi :D
I’m over 18 and I have a couple ideas in mind for different rps I’d like to do!
I’m looking for these fandoms:
Resident Evil (mostly three or seven/eight, but I don’t mind any of the other ones! I’m not very versed in the story of 4-6 or any of the non-number titles though)
The House of Wax 2005 remake (a long shot but god I love that movie)
The Hunger Games
The Walking Dead Games
Criminal Minds
Most of these would be either a slice of life or following different plot points set out in the story line
I really only do CC x OC, but I’m more than willing to double up!
I’m looking for the following characters for each fandom
Resident evil: Carlos Oliveira, Jill Valentine, Karl Heisenberg, or Lucas Baker
The House of Wax: Bo Sinclair or Vincent Sinclair
The Hunger Games: Peeta Mellark
The Walking Dead Games: Louis
Criminal Minds: Spencer Reid or Emily Prentiss
I only rp on discord, so like this and I’ll reach out asap :P
.

Hello 👋
Before I start posting imagines, headcanons, requests and more.... I've got a few rules I should mention. So PLEASE PLEASE read until the end 🙏🥺
First are the characters I write for:
Michael Myers (78 or RZ)
Jason Voorhees (specifically Part 2/3 Jason)
Brahms Heelshire (The Boy 2016)
Bo Sinclair (House of Wax 2005)
Vincent Sinclair (House of Wax 2005)
Lester Sinclair (House of Wax 2005)
Bubba Sawyer (OG TCM)
Thomas Hewitt (2003 TCM remake)
The Grabber (Black Phone AU where he didn't kidnap and kill kids. Only adults)
Charles Lee Ray/Chucky (Child's Play movies series/Chucky TV series)
Tiffany Valentine (Chucky TV series)
Harry Warden (My Bloody Valentine)
I'll add more as I catch up on other slasher franchises I haven't seen yet such as Scream for example 😉
Secondly, here are topics I will NOT write for or even allude to:
Incest
Rape
Pedophilia
Animal Abuse (yes this includes any kind of sexual acts with animals)
Homophobia
Transphobia
Racism of ANY kind
Basically any nasty kind of topic similar to any of the above
So if your request is for any of the slashers I mentioned and doesn't have anything to do with the topics I refuse to do, go ahead and send me an ask! Smut or fluff, I'll write!
**IMPORTANT**
I typically write for a female reader unless specifically requested for Gender Neutral. I'm not comfortable writing for male just yet but I'll occasionally do a male!reader x slasher so I can get more comfortable with it 😁

Why Beaugard "Bo" Sinclair in the 2005's House Of Wax works
_____________________________
Tumblr media
_____________________________
I had a discussion once with a friend of mine about House Of Wax, and it was all about if we had to choose or were forced to pick one of the Sinclair brothers as partners. I would have picked Lester, whilst my friend decided to pick Vincent. They were surprised at that, because my friend knew how much I like Bo as a character. So when they questioned me about it, I basically answered it in the most hilarious way possible without meaning to.
"Well, yeah. I like how he's written and all that, but I don’t want a thirty year old matress to be my significant other. He's open to everyone, day and night."
And while that might sound too judging or harsh, it means that the writers did him right. They made a villain that dosen’t stick to the old formula of "oh, I'm terrible, because I hate people." Bo might seem like the typical American villain to some, but he's actually deeper than that, not to mention that his backstory has some more originality to it than the most media we have today. I like characters having deepth. He's so depressingly real and daunting that it puts more impact to me than what Vincent does. Some characters in media have these motivations that feel so insubstantial, or not enough that it might just be an anathor bad rip-off slasher film with no real purpose of existing besides bringing in money to the box office. So when I see a character like Bo, I can't help but to like him, I absolutely despise him as a person. But that's because he might as well exist in the real world.
He isn't unique in the way he does things. We see plenty of men in different positions of beauty and power get away with doing terrible things, and the film gives us enough context in comprehending how he does this, without fully knowing at certain times if he actually means it or not. But there's one thing for certain, he's objectively a monster.
However, that dosen’t stop the viewers from liking him, feeling empathy for him, wanting to save him, thinking about being his significant other, wanting to have intimacy with him, and wanting to date him. How come? Why do people want him, want to help him, and why does Vincent of all people help him? Well, like anything in this beautiful, yet unfair and cruel of a world. It's complicated. There are multiple answers to it, but when you think about it, there aren't any clear direct responses.
Maybe Vincent feels guilty over what Bo went through and wanted to help his twin by finishing their mother's dream in a more easier approach. Perhaps Vincent has some hidden animosity, and that’s why he agreed to do it. Or maybe it was both of their ideas. We don't know. Yet we do know that Bo tries to cope with his trauma in an unhealthy manner, hence why he kept the high chair, enjoying being the dominant one overall (having all control over the situations), unleashing his anger in a destructive behaviour, and stealing affection from those who don't want to give it to him.
Bo has clearly been suffering in his upbringing, and since he dosen’t know how to cope, he has this mentality of "if I don't make myself get the things that I want. I will never receive them." Because clearly, his parents taught him that trying to earn it isn’t enough. Behaving good for once isn’t enough to earn their love and attention. It doesn't help that he's naturally attractive and manipulative as well.
I believe that a part of Bo is afraid of opening up, afraid of being vulnerable because that's what got him hurt. So instead of seeking a potential someone who could make him feel everything that he wanted as a child. He takes everything from a person before dumping them or makes them a part of the wax collection. As if some part of him wanted to honour those he decided to "let in." And those women he decided to give his kisses to are his way of either saying sorry or that he likes them. It's really difficult to tell, because at the end of the day, I think it’s all about the context leading up to that. But I think we can all agree that Bo doesn't do this to everyone, he has his preferences. Whether that be beautiful women or how he wants to kill people.
If we take the alternate delted opening as an example, we can tell that Bo definitely dosen’t give everybody the privilege he deems them to get. I mean, he literally grabbed that woman and swung her to the car shield. He didn't even want to play hunt with her. He just wanted to get it over with. As if he saw her as an anathor part of the collection, not worth his attention or his sweetness. But then again, he doesn't mind doing it to people who are rude or do questionable things (I'm looking at you, Carly). So he definitely has expectations, but they have to be good enough for him to want to have you.
So what we can learn from this is that to make a good villain, is that you don't have to make them different, be so evil, complex, or have a big motivation unless it makes sense. Just making them realistic or have a villain that you can understand is enough. The other way works too, you can have a villain where you don't understand their character, however, that kind of villain is much harder to execute if you can't deliver it perfectly. One villain that did manage to do this is the Joker from The Dark Knight film.
But back to what I mentioned about the key to having a good villain, you need to convince yourself that they are "the good guy." And also write them in a way where they aren't immediately seen as such, even though that's what they are. Now I ain't saying that Vincent is a terribly written villain, he isn't, he's just a slasher that we have seen before. Except this time, the survivors try to sympasise with him directly, trying to convince him that he's more than what he is. Not to mention that he has his own problems that make him special. And although there's nothing inherently wrong with that, I am getting tired of it. I still love Vincent, though, don't worry.
What do you think? Do you think I brought up some good arguments or not? Did I forget to bring something up? Leave some comments over your thoughts, I'd love to read them and see your perspectives when it comes to opinions.

I didn't think it would turn out like this, but I ain't complaining. This is about to become some dungeons and dragons scenario.
In a dense and whispering forest, two twins wandered hand in hand, their small feet gently crunching the fallen leaves beneath them. Stanley and Standford, with their dark eyes and fluffy light brown hair, were the very picture of twinhood—always in sync, sharing each other's thoughts with just a glance. They had gotten lost during a family outing, but as they walked deeper into the vibrant greens and earthy browns, it was easy to forget their predicament when they were together. Not to mention that Stanley had taken a wild possum with him as a helping hand, he proudly called him Shanklin the stabb possum. Part pet, part assassin, the perfect weapon. It was honestly very adorable. Those twin boys were cute.
The moment the boys had heard that mysterious voice stating that to the readers, they turned around in a quick motion as Standford pointed at the narrator, expressing with a poute: "Were not cute!" As if wanting to hype his brother up and also wanted to let the people know not to underestimate them, Stanley fisted his left palm and confidently told the narrator that: "We'll mess you up!"
oh my lordy WORDS- well then assumingly this is an rp invitation. i'm bouta beat up some kids!1!))
seems that the twins weren't alone in this forest. there was someone following them from a good distance away. his boots hitting the ground with loud almost uneven footsteps.. seeming to be in a rush to catch up with the two. his breathing and sounds he made as he moved sadly gave him away. though that didn't matter.. regardless if these boy's screamed or ran he'd catch them. and he knew that well. The tall male didn't waste any time pouncing and tackling the brothers down. he held them down with each hand placed on the back of their necks.

Hey, you seem like you’re into horror. Do you have a favourite horror movie, any suggestions on what to watch? Hope you’re having a great day!
Ps. Love the last hc about camping, Nocturno really deserves more love in this community :))
-🐀
୨୧ hey there, my sweet little rat anon! i’m having a very decent day and i hope you are too, if not then i send many hugs and kisses
indeed, i am very much into horror lolol! been into it just about as long as i have been extreme metal music, just a little earlier… oh what an amazing question to ask during the spookiest month of the year and so close to halloween! trying to get some scary movies figured out for the rest of the month? nothing feels better than watching a horror during halloween… it would simply be too hard for me to pick a singular favourite but i can name a couple off the top of my head for you
some of these kind of teeter on the edge of thriller more than horror but some favourites would be ;
house of wax, 2005 ( perhaps this will be a hot take but as someone who owns both the original movie and the remake, i actually preferred the remake! i think it was just so different and creative in the best way possible, it was not just a lazy cash grab remake of an old film, they really put their own spin on it and changed things up for what i think was the better! the set design for this movie is absolutely gorgeous and i believe the short documentary or behind the scenes footage is available to watch for free on youtube but i have it on dvd myself! paris hilton is in this movie and surprisingly does a decent job at acting her role, she did very well and fit her assigned character )
house of 1000 corpses, 2003 ( listen, i do not think this is the best horror movie in the world and i would never claim it to be that but it just has a very special place in my heart because it hits points of everything i enjoy in a movie! the acting, in my own opinion, is very good, the plot is so strange but not too much of a complete mind fuck to where it is just not enjoyable to watch anymore, it has some comedy that works well and is not just randomly thrown in there and ohhh the soundtrack, my beloved soundtrack! just a killer halloween movie, especially since it actually takes place during halloween )
black christmas, 1974 ( there really is not much i can say about this one without rambling for hours! just a classic, must watch horror! it’s an annual christmas and halloween movie for me! it used to keep me up some nights when staying at my grandparents house due to the type of house they had being similar to the house in the movie unlike my own )
the crow, 1994 ( another general classic movie that to me, is a must watch for the dark and gothic romantics out there! such a beautiful movie with and even better soundtrack for those who enjoy industrial metal and all )
rec, 2007 ( so damn freaky, knocks the blair witch project out of the water when it comes to found footage horror films! the screaming and yelling all just sounds so genuine and loud, the acting from the main cast is just so incredible in my opinion )
the descent, 2005 ( as someone who loves horror movies that slowly turn into so much more than they seem on the surface… wowee did this one catch me so off guard! the feelings of claustrophobia this film fills you with, the feelings of panic and tension is just amazing )
the dark crystal, 1982 ( i class this as a horror because the strange vulture creatures scared the living shit out of me when i first watched it as a child and i always watch this movie during october but now, i see how truly gorgeous this movie is despite still being a little disturbing to me at times )
the texas chainsaw massacre, 1974
elvira: mistress of the dark, 1988
the satanic rites of dracula, 1973
the evil dead, 1981
the birds, 1963
psycho, 1960
carrie, 1976
and some that are not quite favourites but i still think are definitely worth mentioning as recommendations ;
silent hill, 2006 ( i have my issues with this movie and i absolutely hate how the snow not ash lore plagued the community for so long and still does but i would be lying if i said i did not find it to be an enjoyable movie! i do absolutely love the atmosphere and the costume design, not to mention that the plot is not all that bad at all! definitely worth a watch, especially if you would like to get into silent hill but maybe do not enjoy playing games and simply prefer movies )
the texas chainsaw massacre 2, 1986 ( obviously nowhere near as spooky and scary and grisly as the first, classic movie but that is the whole point! the tonal shift is just amazing in my opinion and the comedy is just so… so obviously eighties in the best ways possible! a must watch comedy horror for me, so goofy and weird yet so lovable )
elephant, 2003 ( not so much a horror at all, more a thriller but i will mention this movie whenever i can because it is just so eery and so incredibly disturbing despite not being a horror, despite not having creatures that look like they come from the deepest pits of hell, despite the only cast and characters being our own human selves )
tokyo gore police, 2008 ( another less than perfect movie but to me, it is just such a joy to watch with all of the weirdness and wackiness it holds )
creepshow, 1982, creepshow 2, 1987
the lovely bones, 2009
bride of chucky, 1998
murder weapon, 1989
the collector, 2009
the lost boys, 1987
laid to rest, 2009
cat people, 1942
may, 2002
again, these are just quick and off the top of my head so i am definitely missing a few notable ones, does not help that i’m a little sleepy at the minute but hopefully these are some decent enough recommendations for you! have fun watching ^w^
and thank you very much! super glad to hear how many people really liked them when i was so worried about them not being the best hehe…
yeahhh, he absolutely does! he was and still is a total cutie, so so so handsome and so obviously a complete sweetheart! though to be honest, i feel like there are just so many under-appreciated and under-loved people in the black metal scene! there are so many people who deserve so much love and appreciate, much more than they get…
thanks again for this ask, rat anon! you guys don’t know how happy it makes me to answer any and all of your questions <3
