Also looking up House of Wax 1953 and seeing reviews on places like IMDB saying to skip the older versions because the 2005 remake “does literally everything better” is so absolutely MIND BOGGLING to me as someone who lived through the initial vicious hatred of 2005. There was a time you would have been burned at the stake for saying something like that

#the entire HoW 2005 becoming a cult hit thing has just blown my mind consistently over the years it’s been happening lol #I’m used to liking bad and terrible things that everybody hates 🤣#now I tell people I love House of Wax 2005 and they go ‘obviously - it’s the best version of the film’#ummm hello I want my badge of honor for dealing with annoying dudes screeching about Paris Hilton for years!
