Seaside Summer School is my favourite event for lots of reasons, but the top reason is the way the writers develop the characters. Even this very short excerpt of Oniwaka's rant (which is excellent in its entirety, and which I will dig into some other time) exposes so much about his growth.

His criticism aside (which I 100% agree with, Maria may be best girl but her behaviour is not sustainable), while I'm sure Maria's actions here remind him a lot of someone else (*cough* MC), he's also talking about himself here. He says later, "It makes me think about things I don't wanna think about."

Did anyone gain from his two deaths? Was anyone grateful for either of those deaths? The answer to both of those answer is no. In fact, not only did no one gain from or appreciate his sacrifice, Oniwaka himself was actively hurt by that very act, so much so that he carries that pain forward with him in future loops, even if he doesn't understand the roots of the pain.

He can't stand seeing others make the same mistake. He likes to portray himself as a loner, as a bad boy who doesn't care about others, but with Maria, with Shiro in a later scene, all he does over and over again is look out for other people. He gives genuinely good advice and due admonishment. He tells Maria to cherish herself, tells Shiro to cherish the time/opportunity he has. For all his bluster, he's a genuinely good guardian and caretaker. Unlike Snow and Horkeu, he's not afraid to deliver a good smack of common sense, and he doesn't care to sugarcoat it to spare feelings. He'll say what needs to be said even if it hurts the person hearing it, because what matters is that the other person changes for the better. Tough love, and all that.

Not counting all of the mini events. What's some of your least favorite Events in Housamo? Mines are Events where characters with new variants are barely relevant in them like V.Jail(Licht) and Setsubun(Oniwaka). I also think Lost Isle was kinda boring.

Housamo Headcanons

Kentaro actually isn’t flirting with people he actually just says whatever he’s thinking. He’s just honest and straightforward. (He’s asexual and he has a huge crush on Ryota but he doesn’t know how to show it outside of just being friendly. Kentaro also doesn’t “compliment” Ryota because he’s worried Ryota would think he’s weird)

Kyoka and Kengo’s relationship wasn’t planned at all. In fact it was Kengo that confessed that he had feelings towards her when she was upset about Oniwaka dying (She was actually mad at him for that but eventually they got over it)

Kai is probably the one sibling that doesn’t involve himself with people. He’ll show up and go to class but he’s got a whole different group of friends.

Kade is actually the smartest of the siblings he’s also the most realistic. He doesn’t trust a lot of people but he wants to learn. (He’s also asexual like Kentaro)

Kenji is the baby brother and goes to middle school with Sitri who’s his best friend (Sitri is also good friends with Kyoka because of Kengo)

They probably would lose their original identity as the time goes on, just like what happened with the original World rep. (Kamadeva already has, so he might straight up dont care about the world and game anymore)

Unlike the original, majority of them focus on helping everyone rather focusing on their world survivability, as some of them already realized their own view and system doenst change anything (it still one sided).

I remember reading about that theory that Yoshitsune had faked his death and fled to Hokkaido where he became Ainurakurr and Yoritomo swears it's not possible that he got taken out, so do you think a similar thing happened in Housamo?

I'm not sure since Oniwaka does remember watching Yoshitsune die after he stabbed himself, but I guess it also wouldn't be impossible for Yoshitsune and Ainurakkur to be the same person through reincarnation the same way Benkei reincarnated into Oniwaka.
