Man the most interaction I've had with the Demon Slayer fandom was like, 3-5 years ago, before I had a Tumblr, mostly with YT animatics and ao3 (which was where I spent the most time with the community, writing my own fics and making friends with other authors).

So I don't actually have any clue what's currently happening in the fandom rn, especially here on Tumblr...

Maybe that's not a bad thing, to not be super involved with a fandom of a media you like, but I do kinda miss seeing fanart of it ngl. The animatics on YT have all kinda died out and I've seen all the older ones (which I cherish fondly).

getting a lot of newfound appreciation for gravity falls that i didn't really have back when i first watched it in like middle school

that sadness and dread mabel feels at the idea of summer ending, of all her new friends going away and dipper not being with her anymore. the desperation she feels to make it last just a little longer, so she can deny reality just a little bit longer...

the sudden dread and sinking feeling that Ford must feel when he realizes that Bill is going to use his family against him, when he realizes that Mabel and Dipper are going to be the bargaining chips that Bill uses to get him to cooperate. How sick he must have felt knowing that if he didn't surrender the entire world and more to Bill, then he'd hurt or even kill two of the most important things to him...

the tension knowing that bill was so close, literal SECONDS away from killing one of the twins. that if stan had waited even a second longer to "accept" the deal, with bill, one of them would have been dead in the palm of his hand, right next to the other. the way you can see it lands on mabel when he chooses, and the only thing coming between her and death was that deal...

idk. something about it just feels more jarring to me now. it would be so interesting to see what could have been played out more if GF wasnt limited to being a kids show on the disney channel lmao

Hi hello here with my daily (hourly) (minutely) caged qphil musing because I have insane amounts of brain rot---I wonder if ccphil is gonna keep consistent with the fact that his character was still in his mexican independence day outfit when he got caught.

And other people have pointed this out, but I can't stop thinking about it, because like, assuming he does get rescued, the first thing his rescuer(s) are gonna notice is his outfit, and seeing him still in his independence day outfit---they're immediately gonna clock the fact that he's been in there since last friday. Like, qphil probably won't know exactly how long he's been in the birdhouse (there's no clocks in there, no windows, nothing; that's a whole other post entirely, though) but the others are gonna know. Immediately.

And it's not just that he's been in there since friday, but since the end of the labyrinth fiasco. Because yes, everyone else went straight from the party to the labyrinth without changing outfits, but then everyone went home. Went to bed or kept hanging out. Changed into comfier clothes. Not phil, though. He went to the party, to the labyrinth, to his house, and then was immediately dragged here. They're going to look at him and think, God, he was probably in the middle of getting ready for bed when this happened! (He was.)

There's something deeply unsettling about it, I just can't quite put my finger on it. It's like in a horror movie when a victim is picked off at a party and their body is found still wearing their cute dress or fancy button down, hair still done up, makeup still on. The knowledge that this person was caught completely unaware. The knowledge that they were having a good time, or had just had a good time, when it happened.

Idk if this makes sense but. Man. I hope ccphil keeps his mexican independence day skin on for when he gets out. I hope it's all dusty and wrinkled and torn up around the cuffs. I hope the red neck bow is coming undone. I hope it still has all its little golden tassels on it.

Dopey, like the button-grin of a snowman left in the sun. Roier tends to have that effect on him. He places a delicate kiss on the back of Roier’s neck. “Óla,” he murmurs. “It’s me… Soy yo.”

Or, Cellbit gets home late after solving the feather cypher. He doesn't quite make it into bed undetected.
