Can I add a Hot Tub to my Existing Swimming Pool?
Tumblr media
Are you a pool owner looking to add a touch of luxury to your backyard oasis? If so, you might be considering adding a hot tub to your existing swimming pool. In this article, we'll explore the benefits of having a hot tub alongside your pool, the different types of hot tubs available, location considerations, the installation process, equipment and accessories, cost considerations, and maintenance and upkeep.
Benefits of Adding a Hot Tub to Your Pool
A hot tub is an excellent addition to your pool as it provides a relaxing and therapeutic experience. Unlike a spa, a hot tub is designed to accommodate multiple people and is typically used for socializing or family time. A hot tub can also help to reduce stress, relieve muscle tension, and improve sleep quality.
Hot Tub Types
There are different types of hot tubs available, including above-ground and in-ground hot tubs. Above-ground hot tubs are typically less expensive, easier to install, and can be moved if needed. In-ground hot tubs are more permanent, provide greater design flexibility, and offer a sleeker and more cohesive appearance with your existing pool.
Location Considerations
When choosing the location of your hot tub, you should consider safety concerns and proximity to your pool. You'll also need to ensure that there is adequate access to plumbing and electrical lines. If you're considering an in-ground hot tub, it's essential to consider the excavation and installation process and the impact it will have on your yard.
Installation Process
The installation process for adding a hot tub to your existing pool will depend on the type of hot tub you choose. However, it's essential to hire a professional for the installation to ensure that it is done correctly and safely. The installation process typically involves preparing the site, installing the hot tub, and connecting it to the pool's plumbing and electrical systems.
Equipment and Accessories
In addition to the hot tub itself, you'll need additional equipment and accessories to ensure that your hot tub functions correctly. This includes a heater, a pump, a filter, and a cover. You can also add additional features such as lighting and jets to enhance your hot tub experience.
Cost Considerations
The cost of adding a hot tub to your existing pool will depend on the type of hot tub, the location, and additional equipment and accessories required. It's essential to work with a professional to determine the best options for your budget. There are also budget-friendly options available, such as pre-fabricated above-ground hot tubs.
Maintenance and Upkeep
Like any other part of your pool, your hot tub will require regular maintenance to ensure that it lasts for many years. This includes regular cleaning and sanitizing, maintaining proper water chemistry, and ensuring that all equipment is functioning correctly. It's also important to keep your hot tub covered when not in use to prevent debris from accumulating and to conserve energy.
Conclusion
Adding a hot tub to your existing swimming pool can provide a luxurious and relaxing experience for you and your family. By considering the different types of hot tubs available, choosing the best location, and working with a professional for installation and maintenance, you can enhance your pool experience and create a backyard oasis that you'll enjoy for years to come.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎
a low groan leaves oscar's lips when he dips his feet in the warm water. he instantly turns around, eyes finding you standing by the door you've just walked through to get to this outdoor area of the spa. he holds his hand out towards you, beckoning for you to step closer.
"it feels so good," he promises, gaze following your every move as you let your robe slide down your arms. his eyes widen when you reveal your newly bought bikini – papaya orange, of course – and a shudder passes through his body at the sight of the tiny material trying it's best to cover you up.
he thanks all the gods he can think of that there's no one else around.
goosebumps grow across your skin now that you're exposed to the sub-zero temperatures, toes curling in the short layer of snow on the deck. you stroll over to him, making sure to let your hips sway a little extra with every step because you know he's watching and you know what he's thinking. the sight of him gulping as his eyes wander up and down your body can only mean one thing.
taking his hand in yours, you let him pull you into the water with him, letting out a content sound when the water envelops your legs and brings the temperature of your body up again. oscar gives your hand a squeeze and leans back, his back hitting the water as he submerged into it. you dive in right after him, making a few strokes beneath the surface before coming up for air again. your hands come up to wipe away the water from your face, before brushing over your hair and tying it up in a messy bun on top of your head.
"this is just what i needed," your boyfriend says, drawing out an agreeing hum from you. it's been a long day – a long week, really – filled to the brim with skiing, hot chocolate drinking, skiing, cable car-rides, and then more skiing. oscar doesn't usually get a lot of time off work, and when he does, he wants to make the most of it. and as his partner, he thinks you should be doing the same, and that's why he's woken you up in the early hours every morning this last week, practically bouncing from how much he aches to go out in the swiss alps yet again.
the hot tub is big enough to swim around in, but oscar makes his way to the side and sits down on the built-in seat, arms stretching out and resting on the edge of the pool. you swim over to him, easily slipping onto his lap and letting your hands rest on his shoulders. oscar tenses up when you sit on him, and you're not surprised by the length already poking up at you – he's just a man, after all – but you decide not to do anything to acknowledge it just yet.
"it's really beautiful here, don't you think?" you ask, looking to your side. the sun has only just set, so the little village isn't completely dark yet. the moon above your heads casts a soft hue over the mountains you've spent all week conquering, stars twinkling among the tops.
"not as beautiful as you, though." there's barely any lightning out here other than the little candles scattered across the floor, but you see the fire in oscar's gaze clearly when you look back at him. he's staring at you like you're the most perfect work of art, the most beautiful thing to ever exist – and your expression matches his, because he truly is your favorite thing to look at in the world. your heart flutters at the contrast between how cute he looks with a few locks of his long fringe curling along his forehead, and how incredibly sexy his body looks with the little droplets of water decorating his muscular chest. he's just stunning.
"you really did a great job with planning and booking all of this, you know," you start. "i may have complained quite a bit when you dragged me out of bed at six am, but... it's all been perfect."
your hands find the space just below his jaw, and it takes all of your strength not to blatantly stare at his thick neck when you feel the muscles under your touch.
"well, perfect except for the fact that my legs are so sore right now."
oscar chuckles at this confession, hands leaving the edge of the pool and dipping into the water instead. "let me help you out with that, then..."
a jolt of electricity shoots down your spine when his palms meet your bare thighs, fingers pressing into the skin and stroking you softly. your eyes flutter closed, loving every second of his massage and growing hotter when his hands make their way further and further up. it doesn't take long before oscar can't hold back anymore, reaching up to press his lips against yours.
you sigh into the kiss, wrapping your arms around his neck and pulling yourself further towards him, your crotch brushing against his as a result. the moan he lets out is so hot that you instinctively begin grinding down against him, wanting to hear more.
oscar gets the hint, but finds himself reaching for your shoulders, holding you back as he leans out of the kiss. your lips chase after him, a frown taking over your face when he doesn't give in. you open your eyes to look at him.
"are you sure... that you want to..." oscar's voice is low but genuine; he knows you aren't a fan of exhibitionism, and that these situations usually only make you uncomfortable.
but the look in your eyes is impossible to misinterpret. "there's no one around..."
he looks around the area once more just to make sure. choosing to go to the spa at 8pm, the exact time when the restaurant at the hotel was the most crowded, was oscar's best idea yet.
he doesn't say anything else. he just grabs the back of your neck, pushing you down to his lips yet again. it's more rushed now, messy kisses pressed against your lips and his tongue swiping across your bottom lip hastily. his other hand caresses all the way down your back, gives your butt a quick squeeze, and then moves to your front instead. his fingers trace the edge of your bikini before dipping inside of it, finding your clit with ease.
your upper body is completely leaning onto him by now, little sounds slipping past your lips as he starts drawing circles onto your already sensitive bud. in no time, he's slipped past your clit, one finger sliding into your core and pumping you a couple of times before being joined by another finger. you can't help but clench around him, exhaling into the kiss.
"please, oscar..." you whine against his lips, and oscar nods, pulling out of you and breaking the kiss. he holds your hips away a little to make space for his hand undoing the knot that holds up his swim trunks, before pulling his dick out of them. he lifts you up, fingers pushing your bikini bottoms to the side but pausing when his tip meets your core. he waits for your nod of consent before finally entering you.
the water helps him glide into you, a throaty moan rumbling from his throat when he bottoms you out. he doesn't give you even a second to adjust, hands on your hips pulling you up before sinking you onto him again.
"fuck," he lets out, throwing his head back when you start to roll your hips against his. "you feel so good..."
you lean forward, forehead resting on the bend of his neck as you bounce up and down on him. your hands move to the back of his head, fingers getting lost in his locks, and it doesn't take long before your movements get sloppier. you gasp when oscar begins thrusting up into you, meeting your downward movements in a steady rhythm.
his grip on your hips grows firmer, rough fingers pressing into your skin and surely leaving marks for tomorrow. he's getting closer, too – you can tell by the string of moans he's letting out in between a bunch of swearwords – and you use your last bit of energy to pick up your pace and help him out. your walls contract around him when you come, and you feel him reach his own high not long after, twitching and shooting into you as you ride out your orgasms.
his hands are more gentle now, brushing up and down your back and following the bumps of your spine. when you finally gain the energy to speak, your words vibrate against his skin. "well, we're never coming back to this spa again." you lean back slightly, looking up at him for the first time in a while. "or the town, for that matter."
his blissed-out eyes meet yours, soft and glossy as he raises his eyebrows. "why's that?"
his flushed cheeks make him look so innocent, but his heaving chest tells another story. "did you not see the cameras?" you question.
"oh, you think we're the first ones to do this here?" you gasp at his wording, splashing some water his way. he laughs. "what, do you really? i reckon this happens here at least once every day. maybe even more."
"oscar!"

heat of the moment.
Tumblr media
AM!Alex x f!reader
Warnings: mature themes, alcohol use, mild language.
You're on a holiday with the band and their partners. Alex had recently broken up with Arielle, and since she didn't want things to be awkward, Miles, a good friend of the band, asked if you could come along in her place. You agreed, although you felt bad for Arielle.
It was probably the third night of the holiday, and you had just returned from exploring the local clothing stores on your own. As you walked through the vacation home—which was massive, by the way—you headed out to the back garden. There, you saw everyone in the pool, clearly already drunk, sipping on champagne.
You set your bag down on a nearby chair and walked over to the group, the sound of their laughter growing louder as you approached. "How much have you lot had to drink?" you asked, your voice filled with amusement.
"Not enough," Jamie replied with a playful grin, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
"Oh, hi, Y/N!" Matt called out, sloshing some champagne over the edge of the pool as he raised his glass. "Come in, the water's lovely."
You glanced at the deep blue pool, noticing how it took on a serene, almost mysterious quality at nighttime.
"Maybe not," you said with a smile, trying to resist the temptation.
"Come on, don’t be boring!" Nick teased, leaning back with a carefree laugh, clearly already a few drinks in.
Alex was nowhere to be seen until you heard footsteps approaching beside you. Suddenly, Alex stumbled over his own feet, nearly losing his balance. "Oh, shit," he laughed, steadying himself as the others in the hot tub burst into laughter at his antics.
He turned to you, your eyes instinctively locked onto his naked torso, drawn to the sight despite yourself. The warm glow from the garden lights highlighted his toned muscles, making it hard to look away. When you realized he had caught you staring, you quickly averted your gaze, a flush creeping up your cheeks.
"Where’ve you been all day?" he asked, his voice laced with curiosity.
"Shopping," you replied with a smile, but your eyes betrayed you as they flicked back to his chest, just for a moment.
"My eyes are up here, love," he smirked, clearly enjoying your embarrassment.
"Shut up," you sighed, rolling your eyes before turning and walking back into the living room, your heart pounding a little faster than before.
An hour passed, and your annoyance grew as the noise from outside only got louder. You were curled up on the sofa, trying to distract yourself, when Miles came in and plopped down next to you.
"Not in the mood for swimming?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Nope," you sighed, staring at the TV but not really watching it. The truth was, you wanted to stay away from Alex. You’d had a crush on him once, and you were pretty sure he liked you too—until he started dating Arielle. After that, it was like you didn’t even exist to him, so you kept your distance.
Miles took a drag from the cigarette in his hand and looked at you with a knowing smirk. "Do you fancy Alex or something?"
"What?" you exclaimed, caught off guard by the question.
"Sorry!" he chuckled, raising his hands in mock surrender. "It’s just—you act weird around him."
"Weird? I don’t act weird!" you protested, your voice defensive as you crossed your arms, trying to ignore the way your heart skipped a beat.
"Hmmm, course you don’t," Miles chuckled, giving you a teasing look. You rolled your eyes playfully, trying to brush off his suspicions.
Just then, Matt, Jamie, and Nick walked in with their girlfriends, all laughing and chatting. "Where you lot off to?" Miles asked, leaning back on the sofa.
"To shop for a refill," Jamie grinned, holding up an empty bottle.
"You coming?" Matt asked Miles.
"Yup," Miles replied, standing up and stretching. He turned to you, "You coming?"
"Nah, I’ll keep an eye on Alex," you said with a smile, trying to sound casual.
"Hmm, alright," Miles replied, his tone laced with suspicion as he raised an eyebrow at you. You could tell he was still amused by the idea that you might have feelings for Alex, but you just waved him off as they headed out the door.
Maybe five minutes passed before you heard Alex call your name. "Y/N!" he yelled, his voice carrying through the house.
"WHAT?!" you shouted back from the living room, expecting him to respond, but there was no answer. You groaned loudly, feeling the frustration build, before reluctantly getting up and walking outside to see what he wanted.
When you stepped into the garden, you found him laid out in the pool, looking utterly relaxed. His head laid back against the edge, eyes half-closed, and a lazy grin spread across his face as the water swirled around him.
You stood there, arms crossed, Alex slowly lifted his head and looked at you with a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Get in with me," he said, his voice a mix of drunken charm and genuine invitation.
You shook your head immediately. "No way, Alex. I'm not getting in there."
"Come on," he whined, stretching out the word, his grin widening. "It’s nice and warm, and I promise I won’t splash you."
"Alex, I said no," you insisted, but he wasn’t giving up that easily.
"Please?" he begged, dragging out the word, his eyes pleading with you. "Pretty please? It'll be fun, I swear."
You sighed, knowing you were on the verge of caving. "Alex..."
"Please? Just for a bit? You don’t even have to get all the way in," he continued, almost pouting now. "Just your legs, if you want. That’s good enough for me."
You rolled your eyes, unable to resist his persistence. "Fine," you relented, throwing your hands up in surrender. "But only my legs."
"Deal!" he said, perking up instantly, clearly pleased with himself.
You slipped off your shoes and socks, sitting on the edge of the pool before dipping your feet into the warm but slightly cold water. The water was soothing, and you found yourself relaxing a bit despite your earlier protests.
Alex looked over at you, a satisfied smile on his face. "See? Told you it’d be nice."
You just shook your head with a small smile, not bothering to argue. "Yeah, yeah. whatever."
He chuckled, leaning back again, and the two of you sat there in a comfortable silence, the night air cool against your skin while the warmth of the water eased the tension between you.
As you sat there, you found yourself wondering about the recent breakup. You glanced over at Alex, his gaze lost somewhere in the night sky, and decided to ask. "Why did you break up with Arielle?" you asked softly, trying to sound casual.
Alex's expression shifted slightly, but he quickly shrugged it off, looking away. "It's complicated," he muttered, his tone making it clear he wasn’t in the mood to delve into it.
Realizing you might have touched a sensitive subject, you decided to let it go. But before the silence could grow awkward, Alex suddenly pointed behind you. "Hey, what’s that?" he said, his voice filled with feigned surprise.
You instinctively turned to look, curiosity piqued. "What are you talking abou—"
Before you could finish your sentence, you felt a pair of strong hands grab your arms, and within seconds, you were pulled fully clothed into the pool.
The shock of the water engulfing you was overwhelming, and you submerged completely, the world around you turning into a blur of bubbles and splashes.
When you finally surfaced, you were completely soaked, gasping for air as you sputtered and coughed, trying to regain your composure. "Oh my god, Alex!" you exclaimed, wiping your wet hair out of your face. "You’re such a twat!"
He was laughing uncontrollably, clearly finding the whole situation hilarious. But when he saw you struggling to stay afloat in your heavy, waterlogged clothes, his laughter softened into a grin. "Here," he said, moving closer.
Before you could protest, he grabbed your legs and wrapped them around his waist, his hands steadying you. "There you go," he smiled, holding you securely in the water.
You were too busy trying to catch your breath to argue, your face flushed with both embarrassment and something else you couldn’t quite name. His chest was solid against you, and despite everything, you couldn’t help but feel a strange comfort in the way he held you.
"Why, Alex?!" you groaned, still trying to process what just happened. Your legs were still wrapped around his waist, and he was laughing, clearly amused by your reaction.
Through his laughter, he reached up and gently brushed the wet hair behind your ears. His fingers lingered for a moment as he wiped away the streaks of mascara running down your face. "I’m sorry," he chuckled, though the grin on his face suggested he wasn’t all that sorry.
You could feel the warmth of his touch lingering on your skin, and despite your initial frustration, a small smile tugged at the corners of your lips. "You’re impossible," you sighed, though your tone had softened.
"I know," he said, still grinning as he looked at you, his hands resting on your waist as if he belonged there. "But you still like me anyway."
You rolled your eyes, trying to ignore the flutter in your chest. "Maybe," you mumbled, unable to keep the smile off your face.
You realized the position he had you in—your legs wrapped around his waist, your bodies close, with the water lapping around you both.
A part of you wanted to pull away, but you didn’t. Instead, you wrapped your arms around his neck, leaning in just a little closer.
"Y/N," he said gently, his voice softer now.
"Yes, Alex?" you responded, a small smile playing on your lips.
"You're so pretty," he said, his smile warm and genuine.
You rolled your eyes, feeling your cheeks flush despite yourself. "I bet you say that to all the girls," you giggled, trying to deflect the sudden rush of emotions his words brought on.
He shook his head slightly, his eyes never leaving yours. "Not like this," he murmured, his expression serious now, as if he wanted you to believe that he really meant it.
You leaned in, intending to plant a quick kiss on his cheek, but before you could, Alex gently cupped your jaw, his fingers warm against your skin. He guided your face toward his, and before you could react, he pulled you in, pressing his lips softly against yours.
The kiss was slow and tender, catching you completely off guard, but you found yourself melting into it, your arms tightening around his neck as if you had been waiting for this moment all along.
Then the kiss deepened, Alex's hands roamed over your body, his touch sending shivers down your spine. With a swift movement, he pushed you gently but firmly against the side of the pool, your back pressing against the cool tiles. His lips moved from yours to your neck, kissing a trail that left you breathless.
You couldn't help but moan softly, the sound escaping your lips as his kisses became more insistent, each one igniting a fire deep within you. "Alex... more," you whispered, barely recognizing your own voice, your body trembling with desire.
His hands were everywhere, caressing your sides, your waist, until they found the hem of your skirt. You gasped as he slid one hand beneath it, his fingers teasing the waistband of your panties.
"Let me fuck you, hm?" he whispered into your ear, his voice rough with desire.
"Please," you whined, barely recognizing your own voice as you clung to him, your body aching for more.
With a quick motion, he attempted to pull down your panties, his need for you evident in every movement.
But just as you were about to lose yourself completely in the moment, the sound of the door opening shattered the intimate bubble you were in.
You both froze, eyes wide, as voices drifted in from the other room. Quickly, you pulled away from each other, your heart racing from both the sudden interruption and the intensity of what had just happened.
Alex looked at you, his breath still heavy, his hand lingering on your waist for a moment before he let go. You straightened your clothes, trying to regain some semblance of composure as footsteps grew louder. The moment had passed, but the tension between you lingered, thick and undeniable.
The others burst through the door, laughing and chatting, only to stop in their tracks when they see you and Alex in the pool together. Their eyes widen, taking in the scene.
"What did we miss?" Miles asks, a knowing smirk on his face as he looks between you and Alex.
"Nothing!" you blurt out, forcing a smile as you quickly scramble out of the hot tub. Your heart is still pounding, and you can feel the heat rising to your cheeks. Grabbing the nearest towel, you wrap it around yourself and make a hasty retreat, your wet clothes clinging to you as you dash past them and run upstairs.
You quickly ran to your bedroom, locking the door behind you with a click, your heart still racing. You leaned against it, trying to catch your breath, a flood of thoughts racing through your mind.
You couldn't shake the memory of his hands on your body, the way his lips moved against yours with such confidence. Just thinking about what could have happened if you hadn't been interrupted sent a shiver down your spine, your body reacting to the thought in ways you couldn't control.
Trying to calm yourself, you dried your hair and changed into your pajamas, hoping that getting comfortable would help you clear your mind. But even as you heard everyone else going to bed, your thoughts kept drifting back to him—his touch, his kiss, the way he made you feel.
Just as you were about to crawl under the covers, there was a knock at your door. You froze, staring at it, your heart pounding all over again. You hesitated, not sure if you should open it. What if it was one of the others, curious about what had happened?
But then you heard his voice from the other side.
"Y/N? It's Alex. Can we talk?"
Your breath hitched in your throat as you stood there, conflicted. A part of you wanted to ignore him, to pretend you were already asleep. But another part of you—the part that still felt the heat of his touch—needed to know what he had to say.

Phantom of Gotham 15
Chapter 14
When the five of them met back in the kitchen, they were all wearing swim trunks with t-shirts and towels around their shoulders or under their arm. Danny took the chance to look around the manor as they made their way to the pool. The place was huge, and he couldn’t help but think Sam would have loved it. His core ached at the reminder, but he was soon pulled into the group’s teasing with ease.
“I can’t believe neither of you knew there was a pool here,”Tim was saying.
“It’s not like you knew it existed either Timberly,”Jason scoffed. Dick made some guestures Danny assumed meant he agreed with Jason. Tim rolled his eyes.
“Yeah, but you guys were here a lot longer than anyone else,”Tim pointed out.
“You are all just ashamed that the person who discovered it was the last one to move into the manor,”Damian sniffed.
“Yeah right,”Jason protested and attempted to put Damian into a headlock, but the kid swiftly darted to the side to avoid him.
“Hey look, we’re here!” Dick chimed in before things could get more violent. The five of them, minus Damian, crowded around the door to get a good look. “Huh, guess we do have a pool.”
“Duh,”Tim muttered, and Danny nudged him, masking the fact that he took Tim’s new coffee cup and phased it into the wall while everyone was looking at the pool.
“Alright! I think there’s some floaties in the locker room,”Dick said, throwing the door open. The other four trailed after him like ducklings, taking in the frankly ginormous pool and small hot tub in the corner. Near the windows were a few sets of tables and lawn chairs, which Jason quickly commandeered, sitting down with a book Danny didn’t realize he had before.
After helping Dick take out some ridiculous floaties, a giant duck, a unicorn, a dinosaur, a donut, and a flamingo, they brought out some pool toys consisting of rubber balls and some frisbees. They spent ten minutes blowing up the floaties, Dick making it into a competition so the first one who blew up the floatie got to choose which one they wanted first. Damian won, much to Tim’s displeasure. Danny was pretty sure it was only because the others, including himself, were too busy distracting each other or purposefully letting air out of each others floaties.
“Don’t leave your shoes around,”Dick reminded them, and they went to the locker to put their shoes and shirts into cubbies before coming out and jumping into the pool. Or in Tim;s case, pushed into the pool by Dick. He’d complain if he hadn’t seen Dick also push Damian in after him.
“Betrayal!” Damian was sputtering, when Tim noticed someone missing.
“Jason, aren’t you coming?” Dick called, but Jason waved him off, not taking his attention off his book.
“Where’s Danny?” Tim called, and the other two in the pool glanced around before shrugging. Tim bit his lip, wondering if he was okay. Did Danny not know how to swim? He suddenly felt bad for not asking what his friend wanted to do. Maybe Danny was afraid of water, or he had some aversion to water because he’s a halfa. Tim shook his head before he started catastrophizing and started moving to the side of the pool.
“I’ll get him,”Jason called, sitting up and making his way to the locker room.
“You sure?” Tim asked, nervous. He felt like a bad friend staying in the pool while his friend was having trouble.
“Yeah, just give him a minute,”Jason waved them off, before disappearing into the locker room.
“Danny? You in here?” Jason called. He took a few steps in after no response, only to see Danny sitting on a bench, clenching the bottom of his shirt nervously. Frowning, Jason came over and sat next to him. “You alright kiddo?” “...Yeah,”Danny murmured, still tense. “I just.. Have a lot of.. Scars.”
Ah. Jason could understand that. He himself still had an autopsy scar from when he’d died. Sure, the lazarus pits healed most of his wounds and scars, but the Y was so deep it still left a pretty mark on him even now. It’s why he was sitting on the side reading. He figured the scar would bring down the mood, and he knew Dick would want to talk about feelings afterwards. Jason wanted to avoid that, because f Dick wanted to talk about feelings, then Bruce wasn’t far behind.
“Listen, I’m sure it’s not as bad as you think,”Jason offered. “We’re all pretty used to scars around here. Hell, mines worse than anything you got, I promise.”
“Is that why you’re not swimming either?” Danny asked, glancing at Jason’s own maroon shirt.
“Yeah, you caught me. But I promise those guys out there will be fine with your scars,”Jason said. “Mine are just… kinda gruesome and bring back some bad memories.”
“Your scars can’t be that bad,”Danny sighed. “I… I don’t like looking at them. My scars, I mean. I don’t think anyone does.”
“Kid, none of us are gonna judge you on your scars,”Jason comforted, trying to not feel like a hypocrite.
“But they judge you for yours?” Danny raised an eyebrow. Point taken, Jason supposed.
“No, they..”Jason sighed. Maybe this kid just needed some self esteem. Whatever, he could deal with Dick’s feelings for one day for this. Then he clapped his hands together. “Alright, if I go out there without my shirt you have to too, alright?”
“I don’t know, you don’t really want to see this,”Danny gestured to his shirt. Jason snorted.
“Trust me, nothing you got is worse than mine,”Jason smirked.
“Wanna bet?” Danny retorted, but Jason could see the stiffness in his shoulders, and the way he gripped the hem of his shirt.
“I’ll take that bet,”Jason said, and without fanfare, he shrugged his shirt off. There was a pause in the room, and Jason turned to see Danny with wide eyes. Jason wasn’t sure the kid was even breathing as he stared at the Y on Jason’s chest.
“See?’ Jason laughed without humor. “Told you…” Jason trailed off when Danny threw his shirt off to reveal a matching, if not worse autopsy scar on Danny’s own chest.
“You-” Jason started. How had this kid- why, Jason wondered. He wished that he’d asked more questions about halfas when they’d met with Phantom. Looking closer, Jason could track what looked like faint lichtenberg scars spreading out from Danny’s heart, across his shoulders, but barely reaching his neck.
“Guess we both win that bet,”Danny joked quietly. Jason swallowed, throat suddenly dry. “Were you… awake? When it uh..” Danny mumbled, still looking at Jason’s scar, and that snapped Jason out of his thoughts.
“No, I…”Jason responded, only to realize why he’d asked the question. “You were-?” Jason cut himself off. Whoever did this to the kid was definitely going to die, Jason promised. No kid deserved to be vivisected, even if they were a meta. “Who?” He asked, a bit more harshly than he wanted.
“My uh..”Danny started, looking down at his feet and fidgeting with his shirt. “It’s kinda why I ran away to Gotham,”Danny shrugged. “I-it’s fine now, I’m fine.” He reassured, despite it doing the opposite to Jason. It was then that Jason remembered that the kids parents were ghost hunters, and that the kid had run away from home not even a year ago.
Which meant the kid’s scars were new. Or newer than Jasons, for sure. He took a breath, then stood up, offering a hand to Danny. Reluctantly, Danny took his hand and was pulled to his feet.
“Listen, you can put your shirt back on if you want, but I’ll go with you either way,”Jason offered. Danny glanced between their scars for a moment, then apparently steeled his nerves.
“Sure, let’s go,”Danny said determinedly, but Jason could see the tension in his shoulders and the waver in his voice. Damn, this kid is brave, Jason thought.
“There they are!” Dick cheered when not only Danny but Jason came out of the locker room with their swim trunks on. Tim squinted, doing a double take when he realized-
Letting out a shout, Jason suddenly leaped into a cannon ball into the pool, splashing everyone in the face before they could say anything. Tim sputtered, only to be hit by another, seemingly colder wave when Danny jumped in behind him. Resurfacing, Jason had pulled Danny and Damian into a splash war that had them all smiling.
Tim shared a look with Dick, and he saw Dick’s expression of concern and abject horror on his face. Dick seemed to want to talk to Jason, but before the man could get close, Jason splashed him in the face. Message received, Tim thought. As unsettling as it was, he figured Jason was a good fit to take the lead on this one. Bringing up their scars wouldn’t be very cool if Danny’s still self-conscious about it. Tim made a note to ask Phantom more about halfas before he was promptly sprayed in the face by Danny. Tim spluttered, looking to the playful smirk on Danny’s face that was obviously hiding nervousness and grinned, splashing back.
That was how the afternoon was spent, with Jason or Danny splashing anyone who seemed like they were about to bring up the scars until they all got the message to not mention it. Much to Tim’s amusement, Damian and Dick were splashed the most out of them all. Tim was happy to say he got to splash Damian a few times in warning too, even if it resulted in mild bruising.
Overall, They had a blast. Each of them had their own giant floatie, and raced along the pool a bunch of times until it developed into more of a pirate boat situation, with each other trying to pull the others into the water. A few of them ended up popped, so they’d switched to pool volleyball and frisbee before Alfred came in to call them for a late lunch.
Getting out of the pool, Tim refrained from mentioning the scars, but he could tell Dick and Damian were just moments away from bringing it up. Dick just had a look reminiscent of a kicked puppy, and Damian was scowling every time he caught sight of Danny’s autopsy scar. While Danny and Tim were chatting, he caught sight of Dick and Jason talking in the corner before he turned back to Danny.
Danny seemed… happy. Or as happy as he’d been so far. Tim could see he was grateful for the distraction. It had been a while since he’d seen Danny truly relaxed when he wasn’t sleeping in class. It was nice. He hoped they’d be able to keep Danny safe from the GIW so he’d stay like this.
Tim assumed Dick had taken Damian aside to explain somethings, because during lunch Damian didn’t even change expressions when glancing towards Danny’s now covered chest. On Danny’s part, he just seemed grateful no one was bringing it up.
After lunch, however, Dick and Jason left for ‘work’ purposes, leaving Tim, Danny and Damian to hole up in the game room for a mario kart tournament. Though, not long after they’d started, Danny’d fallen asleep on the couch, resting his head softly on Tim’s shoulder.
It took Tim by surprise for a moment, but he found it didn’t bother him. Damian on the other hand, was frowning at the two of them from his chair. “What?” Tim whispered.
“Are you aware of how Danny acquired his.. Scar?” Damian asked quietly. Tim glanced down to Danny, still finding him breathing softly.
“I can guess,”Tim nodded. “What did Dick say?”
Damian pursed his lips, looking to Danny before saying,”His parents. They had attempted to vivisect him before he managed to escape to Gotham.” Damian scowled, and Tim’s heart dropped. He was sure his parents had something to do with it but.. Vivisection was cruel.
“We will not allow any such experiments to happen further,”Damian stated, staring down Tim as if he didn’t want the same thing.
“Yeah,”Tim whispered. “He’s gonna be okay, Dami.”
Damian scoffed. “Of course he will. He’s with us now.”
Tim fought back a smile at the statement. He was not that successful given the way Damian scowled and then got up to leave the room. He was on his way out when a sudden soft rumbling filled the room. Damian froze, turning back to Tim with narrowed eyes.
“I was unaware that Alfred the cat was in here,”Damian stated, eyes darting to likely hiding places, and Tim fought a laugh.
“Uh,”Tim started, suddenly afraid to move. “It’s not Alfred.”
Damian’s eyes narrowed further. “What do you mean?”
“I mean uh, Danny’s sort of.. Purring?” Tim whispered exasperatedly. He exchanged bewildered glances with Damian where he was sitting, trying to stay still despite the weight on his shoulder that vibrated like a cat. “I didn’t know he could do that. Phantom didn’t say he purred,”Tim said. He looked over to Damian, who looked like he was fighting back a smile.
Having a great idea, Tim took out his phone with the hand not connected to the shoulder Danny was laying on and pulled up the sibling group chat with Dick, Jason and Damian. Damian had sat back into his chair, staring at where Danny was purring in his sleep while Tim pressed record.
He resisted the urge to coo as Danny purred loud enough to be picked up on the camera, and Tim dutifully sent it to the group chat to watch the chaos unfold.
AcroBat: Oh my god is he purring??
DeadorAlive: Did we know he could do that?
AcroBat: That is the cutest thing ever! He’s like a cat ;u;
Dameown: He started purring when he fell asleep on Timothy.
DeadorAlive: I wonder if Phantom purrs
AcroBat: Do all ghosts purr??
Timtam: Assuming halfas purr, I’m pretty sure most or all ghosts purr as well. Phantom mentioned a core, and from what I can tell that’s probably where the noise is coming from.
AcroBat: Have you tried petting him?!
Timtam: No??
DeadorAlive: He is a human boy Dickhead
Dameown: Petting him may make him feel more relaxed. If he is purring he must be comfortable around you.
Timtam: I am not petting Danny
AcroBat: You’re in the game room? I’ll pet him
Timtam: You better not
Dameown: If you wake him I will kill you
Tim sighed, already done with his siblings. Part of him was curious though, but he didn’t want to risk waking Danny up. He’d already been having a hard time sleeping from what they’d observed. Tim figured he must be tired after the emotional talk with Jason and the mess of games they played in the pool. He had to admit, it had been fun, and sitting with Danny was… nice. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d had this much positive contact with someone.
Not even an hour later Tim found himself lulled to sleep by the pleasant rumbling. And if Damian happened to cover them with blankets, well, no one needed to know.

A Dip In The Pool
This new gym was awesome! Moving to a new city can be hard, but at least it allowed you to start fresh. Going to the gym was something you always wanted to learn how to like, so you signed up for this cool new gym near your house. Everyone was super chill with the fact that you had no idea what you were doing. These huge muscular men would teach you how to use a machine before saying, "Soon enough, you'll look like me!" They were so encouraging! You were starting to like going to the gym. But you were still so skinny. With your curly hair and thin frame, you looked like a literal mop. All of these musclemen were super nice, but there was no way you were ever going to look like them.
As you went to the front desk to check in before you started your workout, the attendant mentioned the fact that the gym had a pool. Since when? You were still new to this place, so you're not surprised that there was something you didn't know about, but still... you don't remember hearing about it. The attendant assured you that it was free admission for gym members, so you hesitantly asked to see where it was and were led through the gym floor to the back of the locker room, and sure enough, there was metal lettering on the face of a large mahogany door: Pool.
As the attendant returned to the front desk, you decided that you might as well go for a swim and get some cardio in while you're thinking about it. Although you hadn't come prepared with a swimsuit, you decided that your gym shorts were similar enough and would suffice, so you went back to your locker to get ready. After placing your gym bag in the locker, you peeled your t-shirt off of your torso, exposing your thin, hairless frame. Reaching downwards, you slipped your slim feet out of your shoes, and peeled off your socks, placing everything in your locker. After closing the locker and securing the padlock, you turned and headed back to the mahogany door.
Pushing inward and stepping into the room, your nostrils were immediately bombarded with the unmistakable smell of chlorine. Your eyes watered: it burned! The room was dark, merely illuminated by the lights in the small pool. There were no windows, no benches, nothing. Not even another person! The pool itself was short and rather shallow. It wasn't big enough to do laps or anything, so why was it here?
Seeing steam rising from the surface, you figured that the pool must be set at a high temperature for recovery or something like that. To you, that made enough sense to justify its existence. You began to lower yourself to the edge of the pool before sliding in, but you stopped yourself. Looking around, you decided that since no one was here to tell you not to, you were going to have some fun with this pool. Taking a small step back, you launched yourself forward, tucking inwards to a cannonball position. Your body cut through the warm steam as it descended toward the pool. As you hit the water, your body was wrapped in its warmth. It was almost like a hot tub. It felt amazing. Your body submerged beneath the surface, leaving an impressive splash, especially considering your small frame.
Rising from beneath the ripples you created, you reached your hands upward to wipe your face with your hands and to push your hair from your eyes. Only there was no hair there to be pushed. Your hands went over your head, but the hair that was usually there was gone. Something was wrong.
Tumblr media
You opened your eyes and saw your now-massive hands in front of your face. They were connected to your thick forearms which met your mountainous biceps. Your torso was huge. Looking down past your swollen pecs, you saw your washboard abs, large thighs, and defined calves. Running your hand along your abs that were not there a moment ago, you allowed your hand to explore further down, pushing its way into your shorts. You grabbed your throbbing cock and began stroking it aggressively. Moaning in your deep voice, your massive body buckled in the water, sending ripples as you continued jerking off. Your bicep bulged with strength, veins becoming more and more prominent as your pace accelerated. Your breaths became short and intense. God, it felt so good. Pure ecstasy overtook you. With a grunt, you shot out ropes and ropes of cum into the pool.
Wading through the milky substance around you, you climbed your way out of the pool. You had never gone in the pool after your daily workouts, but with all that testosterone you have flowing in your veins, an outlet is good. Flexing the massive muscles that you had spent so much time growing in the gym, you decided that you were going to take a dip in the pool after every workout from now on.

Sarad'ika.
You won’t forget it this time, you can’t. So you write it in your book, just under Mando’s favorite color you write the two little words that have been keeping you up at night. Once you get that out of the way you’re left alone in the quiet, wide expanse of your room. You have about ten seconds of time alone with your thoughts before you get restless.
You need a change of scenery, and fast, because it’s taking every single ounce of restraint you have left to not stick your hand back up your dress, lock yourself in your room for the rest of the week, and think about that stupid, stupid dream. Opening the curtains you could see the sun starting to come up, so you pulled the rope that summons the girls because you desperately need a bath. You need to get rid of this dirty feeling that envelops you.
His phantom touch lingers on your skin. He had been so real, you swear you’ll have bruises on your waist when you undress.
Elaine and Lysa can’t get here fast enough, but when they do you’re already halfway out the door.
“Fresher, bath, now.” You’re still rocking a thin sheen of sweat and your mouth is dry. Lysa doesn’t seem thrown by your tone but you have to shoot Elaine a pleading look to make sure she doesn’t ask.
“Yes ma’am.” Elaine guides you into the fresher and quickly starts undoing your dress, while Lysa draws the bath. You know your entire body tenses up the moment she starts unlacing your bodice, thank the gods she doesn’t comment on it. You waste no time, the moment you’re free from your garments you step into the bath, you’re still not used to cold bathes like this, back on Hoth you’d pull from hot springs down in the planet's core to heat your water. But you couldn’t be more thankful for the cold now because it seems to be cooling the fire that lingers in your stomach. The girls retreat back to your chambers to prepare your outfit for the day.
“Not green.” You manage to squeak out as you sink lower into the bubbles. Watching them go. Alone with your thoughts again. Focus on something else. Don’t think about the Mandalorian. Think about how unnecessarily big this tub is. It’s less of a bathtub and more of a small pool honestly, you could swim laps in here. You float yourself over to the edge of the tub to find a washcloth, you need to scrub off any imaginary touches that might linger on your skin. You start at your shoulders, your mind manages to stay empty until you get to your chest. Then he’s there again, clear as day, so you try to think about something else, think about the least sexy thing you can, the first thing that comes to mind.
Your husband.
Yikes.
Surprisingly that works. You think about Kodo and the ache between your legs vanishes completely until you actually have to wash there. Gods, the last thing you need to do is start touching yourself here and now and have one of the girls walk in, so you make it quick, squeeze your eyes shut and shove the washcloth between your thighs and don’t think about him.
But you can’t get away from him, after a moment you open your eyes slowly and it’s like he’s right in front of you.
Fuck he’s actually right in front of you. The door to the fresher is wide open and it’s like he’s frozen in time, one hand on his blaster, the other on the door handle. His visor fixed on you.
He lingers way too long, you both know it.
Finally, in sync you both seem to snap out of it. He immediately turns ninety degrees to stare at the wall. You know he’s apologizing but you can’t hear him over the ringing in your ears as you feel your face turning crimson. You’re doing everything in your power to cover yourself with the bubbles but you know he definitely saw something, for Makers sake he was ogling you for a second there. There is a beat where it’s silent, you’re staring at him and he’s staring at the wall and finally you find your voice.
“Get out!” You’re covering your chest with one hand as you point at the door with the other. It might be the first time you’ve ever seen him stumble, Elaine walks in as he’s rushing out, wordlessly brushing past her, her eyes go wide as she turns from him to you. Your head is in your hands now. “I think I’m done.” She wraps you in a towel as you stand. She’s grabbing another towel to dry your hair as she extends a hand to help you step out. Guiding you to a stool and sitting you down, humming softly as she pats your hair dry. So much for the cold helping, now it feels like your entire body is on fire.
“He was just worried.” She says it matter of factly and you whip your head around to stare at her.
“What?”
“He was worried about you. We were in the closet when he barged in, all he saw was your bedroom doors wide open, and an absence of you. By the time I stepped out into the hall he was throwing doors open.” She smirks as she turns you back around so she can finish drying you off.
“He should have knocked…” You grumble as you cross your arms in front of your chest.
“Go easy on him, it’s the first time in what? Three weeks? Four weeks? He’s never been in a situation where he’s shown up to retrieve you and you weren’t there, he probably thought you were spirited away in the few hours he wasn’t keeping an eye on you.” Once your hair is mostly dry she starts loosely braiding it.
“I’m capable of surviving an hour without him.” You huff, you know she’s probably right. And there is a small part of you that kind of likes how much he seemingly cares.
“You’re his responsibility. I think it’s sweet how he takes his job so seriously.”
“Of course you think it’s sweet, he doesn’t follow you around like he’s your shadow.” You mumble but she laughs it off.
“Come on, Lysa is probably alone with him right now and freaking out, so we better not keep her waiting.” She covers you with a robe and takes you by the arm, ushering you back to your chambers.
You didn’t know it was possible to look ashamed through so many layers of metal and fabric, but there he is, standing outside your quarters like always except now he’s strung-out. You swear you catch his fingers clenching into a fist for a moment before brushing past him to get dressed, Elaine closing the door behind you before rushing over to Lysa. You’re standing in front of the mirror now and you can see them whispering to each other, you don’t bother trying to get involved when you see Lysa suppress a giggle.
They dress you in a lightweight pink gown, you’re thankful that they seemed to pick up on your distaste for heavy makeup as they do it much more simply, and before you can stop them they’re leaving. And now you have to sit and stare at yourself in the vanity, putting off the inevitable. It was going to be hard enough facing him without the whole bath incident but now it feels a thousand times worse. But you can’t put this off forever so you might as well get over it. Gritting your teeth you open the door and step out, before you can even look at him he’s rambling.
“I’m so sorry, I thought something might have happened to you, I assumed the worst and it was stupid and I should have knocked but I was worried and I promise I didn’t see anything and-” He stares at the floor the entire time and his words are rushed and quiet.
“Stop.” You cut him off. You had been prepared to let him grovel but the moment you heard how genuinely distressed he sounded you had decided to forgive him. You didn’t even know it was possible for him to sound so rattled, he’s acting like he saw a ghost.
“Stop?” He sounds like he’s got way more speech prepared and honestly, you don’t wanna hear it.
“It’s fine. It was an honest mistake and I don’t want to talk about it.”
“Okay.” He hesitates for a moment. “But I am sorry.”
“Stop it.” You glare at him but start walking in the opposite direction of the library. “But… if you’re really sorry I know how you can make it up to me.”
“Anything.” Well you were gonna ask him to take you to the gardens but if he was offering up anything. It’s almost like he can read your mind because he immediately shoots you a warning look. “Within reason.” Damn it. Gardens it is.
“I believe you still have a promise to fulfill?” You stop at the fork in the hallway, no longer sure of where you’re going. It takes him a second to realize what you’re implying but after a moment he nods towards the right and walks slightly ahead of you instead of trailing behind.
By the time you make it outside and to the forest trail neither of you have spoken. There’s still an oppressive tension looming over you both. You can’t look at him and seemingly he can’t look at you.
Of course in your case it’s because last night he had stared in your own personal porno and in his case he just saw you naked and you just so happen to be married to the guy who pays his salary.
Maker, is this even salvageable at this point? Do you want to salvage this?
You have to. This is all you have. Even if you hate him, (although you’re not even sure if that’s still true) even if some small part of you is attracted to him, (you also aren’t sure that part is all that small anymore) even if he saw your tits this morning, (he definitely did.) He’s all you’ve got at this point. So yes, you want to salvage this. All you have to do is say something, if you say the right thing you can fix this whole mess. If you say the wrong thing he might never be able to look at you ever again but that has to be a risk you’re willing to take and your mind moves faster than your mouth as you blurt out what might be the dumbest thing you could possibly say right now.
“Are we friends?” Gods, are you a child? He doesn’t stop walking, doesn’t stop to look at you. His stride never wavers as he continues marching down the trail.
“I don’t have friends.” Well shit. Big surprise the guy who’s paid to spend time with you doesn't consider you a friend. “But, you are probably the closest thing I have to a friend. Even if you don’t have a choice in the matter of my presence.” He finally turns to look at you. Maker, he sounds genuine, why is your heart fluttering, he called you a friend, it doesn’t get less sexy than that. “Am I your friend?” Did his voice just crack? You’re imagining things.
“Well, I talk to you more than anyone else, I spend more time with you than anyone else, so I suppose you’re also the closest thing I have to a friend.” You’re about to say something snarky to make your statement less mushy but you step out of the trees and your eyes go wide.
It’s nothing like they say it is in books. You’d always imagined a garden to be one big mass of the same shade of green but it’s so much more than that. There’s so many different greens, they all stick out, and there’s so many other colors, nothing back on Hoth that compared to this. You’d all but forgotten about Mando as you just gawked. It was massive, you could probably spend all day walking and never step on the same spot twice. There’s so much you don’t even know where to start.
You didn’t even know real flowers could be that brightly colored. You’d only ever owned fake flowers growing up because nothing would grow in the cold, the sharp hues of your plastic lilies would look pathetic next to these. These were alive, they swayed in the wind. Bugs flew through the petals. Everything felt alive. Up until this point you had not found one part of this planet that you liked more than home, but this was better than anything you’d ever had a chance to see.
“Does it live up to your expectations?” He’s next to you now, you don’t understand how he’s looking at you and not the field, you can’t tear your eyes off of it. You want to hug him. Well, no, that would be inappropriate, but you’re so thankful you almost don’t care.
All things considered you probably shouldn’t even be alone with him at this point with your combined track record the only things that happen when you’re in the same vicinity are arguments. And now nudity. But you’re so happy you don’t give a shit. You’re so happy that when he holds his arm out to you, you take it without a second thought and let him lead the way.
You wonder if you’ve been this happy since you arrived. Have you been happy at all since you found out you were promised to Kodo? You can’t recall. He’s very thorough, he makes sure you get to see everything, every flower, vine, leaf and root. Everytime he stops in front of something so you can get a good look he waits until you move first, to make sure you’ve had your fill of every single thing. When you ask him questions about the flora he seems almost embarrassed that he doesn’t have answers for you. It’s kind of cute. You don’t know how long you stay like that, arm in arm. You don’t even hear him when he finally speaks, you’re completely captivated by a butterfly.
“What?” It isn’t the usual tone you take with him, there’s a warmth to your tone that you typically reserved for people back home.
“I asked if you wanted to play a game.” Well you certainly weren’t expecting that.
“What kind of game?” You can’t help but be skeptical, even though you don’t think he’d try and ruin your good mood and you want to trust him. This just seems out of character for him.
“Well, since we’re almost friends with each other, I thought we might get to know each other better. That’s what friends do, they know things about each other.” His voice is casual and he sounds almost relaxed. It suits him. And he’s right, friends should know each other.
Friends are good. Friends are safe. Friends don’t have sex dreams about each other. You should be friends. That’s the safest thing to be, and it would be nice to have a friend.
“So what… we just ask each other questions? That doesn’t sound like a game, it sounds like a conversation.”
“Sounds like someones scared of losing.” He looks straight ahead as the two of you begin walking towards what appears to be a lake, there’s a gazebo next to it and a few other things you can’t make out in the distance. You can’t help but scoff.
“Fine. What are the rules?”
“It’s simple, we ask each other questions but you can choose not to answer, you can pass. First person to pass on three questions loses.” Well this seems easy enough, and he’s so secretive you’ll win without a doubt.
“Okay, but I get to go first.”
“Of course.” Is he smiling under the helmet? He probably has a nice smile. Is that something friends think about each other? Who cares, you can let this one thought slide, it's innocent enough. you hesitate for a moment, why not start simple.
“Where are you from?”
“Pass.”
“You can’t be serious.”
“Deadly serious.” His tone is still light so you know you haven’t struck a nerve. How odd.
“Okay so wait, what do I get if I win? Since it’s obvious I’m going to.” That gets a genuine chuckle from him. It’s nice. It’s not as bassy as his voice is, but it’s still low, raspy and authentic. You want to hear it again.
“What do you want?”
For you to grope me in front of a mirror?
Well friends don’t certainly ask friends for that. What did you want?
“I want a question.”
“Well that just doesn’t make sense princess, we’re playing a question game.”
“No, the winner gets to ask the other person a question and they have to answer. No passing.” You know you have a smug look on your face, you already know what you’re going to ask. He thinks about it for a long time, long enough that you’re worried that he might say no.”
“Okay. Deal. Where are you from?” You’ve reached the gazebo now and you both take a seat. You rest your arms on the railing so you can stare at the lake.
“Hoth.”
“I didn’t know Hoth could sustain life.”
“We live underground, why did you take this job?” You kind of expect him to pass again but he answers without missing a beat.
“I needed the credits. This was the highest paying job.”
“Why did you need money?” You pull your eyes away from the water to look at him, you’re kind of surprised to find his helmet already facing you and not the scenery, it’s gorgeous here.
“It isn’t your turn.” He asks again before you can protest. “What’s your family like?” You consider passing but it could be worse.
“I have eight siblings and I’m really close with them. Well I was. I never got that close with my parents, small colony royalty, they liked to act like they were above it all so in our colony of less than 500 people who had nothing to do, we had nannies.” You can’t help but roll your eyes at the memory. He nods slowly but doesn’t ask for a follow up so you just ask your next question. “Did you like being a bounty hunter?”
“I don’t really feel anything towards it. It was work, I didn’t hate it, I didn’t love it. I was just good at it.” He doesn’t even have his usual tone of arrogance, he says it like it’s a fact. “Did you choose to marry him?”
“Pass.” You respond way too quickly, and you know you’re practically giving him the answer by passing. But you don’t want to say it, don’t want him to feel sorry for you. “When do you eat and drink?” He chuckles again, Maker, you want to marry that laugh, you want to make love to that laugh, you want to bury yourself alive and die in that laugh. Nope, that’s not a normal thing friends think about each other you fucking weirdo.
“When you aren’t looking.”
“What? That doesn’t make any-”
“No follow up questions.”
You play for a long time, going back and forth until the sun is much lower in the sky. It’s exhilarating to have a real conversation go on this long, the two of you don’t even argue (for the most part.) He tells you so much about himself that you can hardly remember all of it, you keep a mental list of your favorite things.
“Did you really read the Smitten Paladin?”
“Yes.”
“Do you have a little straw in your helmet so you can drink stuff?”
“No.”
“Do you sweat a lot in all those layers?”
“Sometimes.”
“Is your name really Mando? Cause that’s, like, super convenient if it is.”
“It’s not.”
“What is your name?”
“Pass.”
“What color is your hair?”
“Brown.”
Now you’re tied, whoever passes next loses. You had passed earlier when he had asked if you wanted the rest of your books back. Cocky son of a bitch. When you had asked if he had read them all he responded with, “ Not yet.” You need to win. So you think long and hard until you come to a question you’re sure he won’t answer.
“Where are your quarters?” You give him a satisfied smirk, let's see him worm his way out of this one.
“Why do you want to know?”
Yikes. He’s got you there. Do friends usually ask friends where they sleep? Doesn’t matter, you’re so close to the win that you just deflect.
“Are you gonna pass?”
He takes a minute. A long minute, just staring at the lake, and you’re ready to accept the win when he points out past the water.
“There’s a cabin just on the edge of the pond. I live there.”
You’re so shocked he actually answered that you don’t even care that he didn’t pass, you squint and sure enough there it is, you’re surprised you didn’t see it before but it blends in so well with the trees. There’s a small cabin by the edge of the water. You have a million follow up questions but of course he cuts you off before you can ask any of them.
“What did you mean when you said I was your least favorite?”
Shit. You can’t believe he remembers that. Gods you don’t want to lose, and you can’t bring yourself to lie because you would always know your win wasn’t real and there’s no satisfaction in that. So you sigh.
“My first couple of days here I was very bored so I made a list of my favorite people here.” You can feel your face getting hot. He must be getting used to seeing you get red like this, it practically happens hourly at this point. “You used to be on the bottom of the list but now you aren’t.”
“Where am I now?” There is no hurt in his voice, just speculation. He’s leaning closer to you now. You can’t help but close your eyes and just enjoy his smell for a fleeting moment. Smoke, metal, and fresh linen. That last one is a bit shocking, he must have other flight suits that all look the same.
“No follow up questions.” You smirk. “How did you know I left my room that one night I snuck out to the library if you live across the lake?”
“Pass.” You don’t even get to enjoy the win because you’re a little disappointed that you don’t get to know the answer. “You win princess.” He stands and holds out his arm again and you quickly take it as you start walking back in the direction of the trail. When had it gotten so dark? The sun was nearly set and you’d hardly even noticed. You’d spent the whole day out here.
You want to ask your question immediately but the moment you open your mouth he speaks.
“We should do this more often.” He sounds so carefree, it catches you off guard
“The game?”
“No, but we can do that as well if you’d like, but I meant getting out of the castle.” Honestly the thought of being out more often thrills you, you just aren’t sure what the rules for that are since you married into the royal family.
“I would love to get out to the garden more often.” You whisper it, almost just to yourself.
“Not just the garden. Have you ever seen the rest of this planet?”
“No.” You haven’t even been off of the royal grounds.
“Okay, new deal. On the first day of the week we go somewhere, even if it is just the gardens.” Your heart skips a beat. He has a day now, just like Kodo, Mando has his own day. You wish you could keep the dopey grin off your face.
“Deal.”
You don’t speak until you're back inside the castle, you don’t even speak when you walk through the halls, you’ve finally found a comfortable silence with each other. You do of course unlink your arms, you don’t know why you both feel the need to pull away at the same time. After all you’re just friends, but you do anyway. Now you’re at the door to your chambers and Leo is waiting for you, impatiently tapping his foot.
“You didn’t attend any of your meals.” His voice is short, clearly upset with you. You give him an apologetic look, and you are hungry.
“Sorry… I guess I just lost track of time, if you bring dinner to my chambers I’ll eat now.” Normally you’d just go to the dining hall but you want one more moment alone with Mando. Leo eyes the two of you but takes his leave.
“As you wish, ma’am.” As he begins walking away you turn back to your steel companion.
“You owe me one more question.” You grin up at him. You wish you could see if he was smiling too.
“Ask away, princess.” He puts his hands on his hips as the helmet turns down towards you.
“What does sarad'ika mean?” You say a silent prayer that this doesn’t ruin the perfect day you’ve had. He doesn’t respond or move for quite some time. Your stomach is in knots and you start mentally cursing yourself out for bringing this up again. But he clears his throat and when he does speak it’s so unexpectedly gentle you almost take a step back.
“In Mando’a, sarad means flower, or bloom, and ika means little.”
Little flower.
He had called you little flower.
You don’t think friends call each other little flower.
You honestly aren’t sure what to say so you just sort of nod, but you don’t want him to feel like he upset you so when you open the door to your room you turn back towards him one last time.
“Thank you Mando. I had a really nice day.”
“Good night princess.”
“Good night.” You close the door.
You wish he had called you sarad'ika again. ✩
The next three cycles are the best you’ve had so far.
You don’t talk about your question and honestly that’s fine because you still aren’t sure how you feel about it. But being friends with Mando is nice, once you convince him that you aren’t going to bolt the second he looks away you actually get him to read a few books, you’re surprised he never picked something up until now considering how much time you two actually spend in the library. You stick with your fiction novels and are surprised to find how much he enjoys history books. He's a fast reader and matches your pace of a book or two a day.
But it’s the fifth cycle of the week. Which means you’re dolled up in blue and you have dinner with your husband tonight. You haven’t seen Kodo since your last dinner when he humiliated you so you aren’t exactly excited. Something tells you Mando isn’t all that thrilled either, he’s quiet today. He’s always quiet until you get him going but you aren’t feeling chatty today so neither is he. You both read in silence for as long as you can until finally you can’t put it off any longer and you loudly slam your book shut and stand.
“We should probably get going.” You smooth out the wrinkles in your dress from sitting so long. He doesn’t speak, only nodding as he stands, setting his book down on top of yours. You begrudgingly make your way down the hall and are thrown off by the amount of noise coming from the dining hall, when Mando opens the large doors for you you’re shocked to see nearly a dozen men eating, Kodo is seated at his typical spot, the head of the table and he stands as he sees you.
“Wife! So good of you to join us! I thought I’d invite some of my brothers and cousins to dine with us tonight.” He’s just as drunk if not drunker than he was last time and much to your discomfort the rest of the men don’t seem much different. Taking a nervous step inwards Mando starts to close the doors once the two of you are inside. “One moment Mandalorian, you won’t be needed tonight. Afterall, it’s just family.” There’s suddenly ice in your veins. You spent so much time trying to get rid of him you hadn’t thought about what would happen when he wasn’t there to protect you.
“I’ve sworn myself to her, I’ll stay” A chill runs up your spine. You’d gotten so used to his voice being lighthearted and gentle that it sends a jolt through you to hear him speaking so sternly. You don’t recognize the tone, even from your first few days with him. More importantly, when the hell did he swear himself to you? Was that a part of the job Kodo was paying him to do? It seems a bit severe for a bodyguard gig.
Kodo doesn’t seem in the slightest affected by the inflection of his voice even though the other men in the room look wary.
“I insist, Mandalorian. Take the night off.” He holds his cup towards the two of you before he sits back down and starts rambling to the men, seemingly picking up where he left off on some sort of hunting story. You turn, your eyes wide with worry towards Mando, you want to beg him to stay, you want you grab him by the shoulders and plead with him to not leave you alone but you know that he can’t. Even if he wanted to. It’s not like he can fight every royal family member, all the staff, and the half dozen battle droids that trailed behind Kodo. He turns to leave and you turn back towards the table but before he opens the door you hear him whisper just loud enough so only you can hear it.
“I’ll be right outside. Nothing’s gonna happen to you.” And then he’s gone, the doors close with a loud thunk and you pull up a chair.
Surprisingly Mando’s promise helps you relax, you sip your wine and you don’t have too bad of a time. It’s a miracle that the presence of all of Kodo’s relatives is a bit of a blessing. Sure, the room being full of men originally was absolutely terrifying but they keep his attention off of you and you quickly realize that they’re too scared to even look at you, you don’t understand that bit for a while until in an instant it clicks.
You’re Kodo’s.
He calls you wife because that’s all you are. You belong to him, therefore it would be an insult to Kodo to leer at you. As disheartening as that is, it's a bit of a relief and you’re able to enjoy most of your dinner until the servants come around and take your plates, which is a welcome sight because it means you can leave. Funnily enough you miss Mando standing behind your shoulder. You feel almost empty without him looming although you suppose you’re bound to feel that way after spending four full weeks by each other's sides. You’re eager to get back to him, to feel the safety of his presence and you’re about to stand up and leave when Kodo’s voice fills the room, commanding the attention of everyone present.
“Isn’t she just a gem?” In the blink of an eye everyone's heads are turned towards you. “Such a pretty little thing,” His grin is viscous and the way he says it makes your skin crawl. “aren’t you princess?” You hate the way it sounds coming from his mouth, and not in the same way you “hate” it when Mando says it. You detest the way Kodo says it.
But he’s so drunk a small wind could knock him over. You can handle this. If you can tease a Mandalorian you can subdue a douche bag prince.
“Thank you, my prince.” You bite back the venom that inevitably tries to seep out.
“Don’t you all think she’s lovely?” Once everyone's eyes are on you, you feel less confident. You wish he would just go back to calling you bland as the men nod and hum in agreement. You feel sick. It’s like having dinner with a dozen Kodo’s, they all have the same dull blonde hair and unpleasant voices. You’re preparing to leave again when what you assume is a cousin speaks up. He looks like he has a few years on Kodo and you know that the prince is the eldest of his brothers.
“When do you plan on getting her pregnant?”
You want to throw up. You can’t stand the way they talk about you like you aren’t even there.
Kodo’s grin widens.
“I think we’ll wait. My father is still young and if her looks are her only redeeming quality, I'd like to keep them intact for as long as possible.” The table erupts in laughter and you think about throwing your wine glass at him. Would that be considered treason? You don’t know so you just tune them out, you know they’re still talking about you, they do for a while.
So you drink your wine and stare straight ahead. Now that Kodo has seemingly given them permission to speak of you they don’t stop. Every once in a while you’ll catch a sentence or two and you have to swallow down the bile that threatens to erupt from your throat. They’re shameless, and they’re vulgar. The only thing that keeps you seated is that you know that none of them will lay a hand on you. It’s the only perk to being seen as nothing more than an extension of your husband. They won’t touch you because you’re his. You have a hard time finding comfort in that fact.
After what feels like an hour you stand up, your chair screeching loudly against the wood.
“I’m rather tired. I think I shall retire to my chambers.” You don’t bother hiding the repulsion from your voice but Kodo only smiles and nods as you turn to leave.
“Goodnight, wife.”
“Goodnight, husband. ”
You don’t turn back around until you’re out of the room.
You let out a sigh of relief once the doors are closed and immediately look for Mando, you don’t see him at first and a wave of betrayal washes over you. Did he leave? He had promised to stay. Could you even be mad at him for leaving? Kodo offered him the night off, he hasn’t had so much as an hour off since he started. You think back to what he had said weeks ago.
“You’re a full time job, sarad'ika.”
You hadn’t even thought of how draining that must be until now.
But he had promised.
Stop being a cry baby, don’t act like some heartbroken little girl, you’re being overdramatic.
You only get a few steps away from the dining hall when you almost trip over something and when you look down he’s there. He had been so still you’d missed him entirely. He’s too still. He should have said something by now, or gotten up. There’s a sinking feeling in your stomach as you look around. Kodo dismissed all the guards on this floor except for the several repurposed battle droids in the dining hall that served as his personal guard, there’s no one here to help you as you kneel down directly in front of him. His back is against the wall and his knees are bent, hands folded in front of him.
“...Mando?” you say it as delicately as you can manage, leaning your head forward so you’re in his direct line of sight. “Mando are you alright?” Is he shaking? “Mando, I need you to talk to me.” You can hear the anxiety in your own voice, echoing through the silent hallway. He doesn’t move so you just say fuck it and crawl between his legs so you can rest your ear against his chest, it isn’t easy with the chestplate but you settle in just above it.
Maker, his heart is racing.
You pull back and stare into the helmet. The concern is apparent in your expression as you place both hands on the sides of his helmet as you would when holding someone's face. His chest is rising and falling too fast.
“Can you breathe Mando? I need you to talk to me, can you breathe through the helmet?”
Fuck you can’t tell. You lean in closer, resting your temple against the Beskar until you can hear his breaths. The modulator isn’t even picking them up, you’re hearing them through the steel.
It sounds like he’s hyperventilating.
“It’s me Mando. I need you to tell me you're okay or I’m going to have to take your helmet off to make sure you can breathe.” Gods, you don’t want to have to do this. You whisper your own name a few times to him. “It’s me Mando, I’m right here.” You’re about to do it, you don’t know what other options you have so you squeeze your eyes shut tight and grip the steel of his helmet and take in a deep breath, in the beat of silence before you can bring yourself to do it you hear the modulator crackle.
“Are you hurt? It’s like he’s just waking up as his hands fly to your hips, holding onto you like he can’t even believe you’re real. The modulator barely picks up his murmur. But you drop your hands down and rest them on his shoulders as you sigh in relief. Thank the stars.
“No, I’m okay.”
He’s nearly incoherent as he speaks softly and quickly you barely catch most of it, the modulator doesn’t pick up the majority of it so you have to listen closely to hear his voice through the helmet, he’s still struggling to catch his breath.
“I didn’t know what to do… never felt so useless… never frozen up before… could hear everything… to rip his tongue out… talked about you like that… if any of them had touched… would have broken down that damn door … wouldn’t care about the stupid droids…”
All animosity you had ever felt towards the man in front of you vanished, even if temporary. Because that’s all he was right now. He wasn’t the Mandalorian, right now he was only a man.
“I’ve never… don’t understand what… wanted to stay… what if you… too many droids…” You press your forehead against his helmet to try and hear better and you finally manage to put together a couple sentences. “I couldn’t just go in, because if I got hurt, who would look after you? I can’t protect you from a jail cell, I’ve never had to worry about that before…”
You can’t take the way his voice shakes so you hold his helmet in your hands again and tilt it upwards to meet your gaze.
“Hey… I am okay.” You enunciate each word as you stare into the strip of black. “Nothing happened, I am unharmed.” You take his hand in yours and bring it up to your face so it cradles your cheek. “See? I’m okay, nothing happened to me. And if something was going to happen to me you would stop it. Okay?”
You sit like that for several minutes. Knelt between his legs, rubbing your thumb gently against the helmet as his unmoving hand rests on your face.
It takes him a while but his breathing finally seems to level out. When he speaks again he’s loud enough for the modulator to pick up and it’s jarring how normal he suddenly sounds.
“It’s late, you should be in bed.”
“Okay.” You’re just happy he’s okay.
Although now you feel a bit self conscious about the position the two of you are in. But it’s like he reads your mind as he puts his hands on your waist and easily lifts you as he gets to his feet. You don’t have a chance to say anything before he’s already walking. You just follow, and when you arrive he opens the door to your chambers for you.
You want so desperately to speak. You want to comfort him, you want to say anything to let him know that you’re okay, that he’s okay, but he speaks first.
“Good night princess.” He says it with a finality that lets you know that there will be no further discussion on what just happened. That tomorrow you will act as if this never happened. But you don’t want that.
“Good night, Mando.”
He waits for you to close the door, you wait for him to walk away. But neither of those things happen. So instead, because the two of you are just friends, you open the door a little wider.
“Do you wanna come in?”

...from the next chapter of Stardust, which will go out at some point after I finish it. Until then, please enjoy this opener to an already wildly self-indulgent chapter.
--
“I maintain that this would be easier in a pool,” Ted said, though given his tone, he was kvetching to kvetch -- his term -- and was perfectly content with where they were.
Booster had never been in any body of water larger than a hot tub or a cold water post-game bath before, so obviously he’d wanted to jump into Lake Michigan.  It was upwards of 90 out and it wasn’t the dry heat of El Paso; this heat clung to the body, making clothes stick in wildly uncomfortable ways and in insanely uncomfortable places, and so naturally he wanted to wear as little as possible and the best place to get away with wearing very little was the beach.  The incredible amount of blue and water was just a bonus.
And that wasn’t even taking into account a Ted wearing nothing but swim goggles and trunks.  Which meant this could well be either Booster’s very personal heaven or his very personal hell.  Unless there was a weird personal purgatory where you were being tortured with the appealing sight of the unaware object of your affections?
Hell if he knew.  There was a reason he body-swerved religion like it was a wharf rat hissing from the storm drain.
He'd thought about going out to some of the Long Island beaches before, maybe as an afternoon trip, but the ocean intimidated him every bit as much as he was fascinated by it.  By his time, the oceans were very barren; mostly, they existed as giant vats to grow specialized algae, which in turn became the building blocks of most food sources.  Storms could rage, but the vast bumpers and floats and dividers kept the surface anywhere near shore fairly smooth; to let it get wild would be to risk starving some large portion of the roughly two billion people inhabiting Earth at any given time.
In this time, waves roared ashore and smashed against rocks and the first time he’d stood on an unsheltered walk next to an unfettered ocean had left him so awed that he didn’t even remember the walk back to the motel.  His face was windburned and he was cold enough that he took the warmest shower he could coax out of the motel’s hot-water heaters, and then sat shivering wrapped in the cheap blankets after.
But even as he did, he was still reliving the reverberation of water pounding the shore, a low and bone-shaking boom that felt like it changed the very rhythm of his heart right through the soles of his shoes.  He was still tasting salt, flecks of seawater spray flung by the wind, long after it had to have been impossible to.
Lake Michigan was cheerful by comparison to that; the waves were nonexistent today, and given the rental Ted had chosen, the largely private beach was likewise quiet.  Down the way, one of the various public beaches that lined the North Shore was busier -- Jaime, Brenda and Paco had abandoned them to go investigate the more social scene, in fact -- but there had been no talk of Booster and Ted going with.
If one was going to half-ass some swimming lessons, then it couldn’t be a better day for it, or a better location.  And, ulterior motives about getting to see the man in trunks aside, Booster wouldn’t have wanted them from anyone but Ted anyway.
Booster shrugged, drawing his hands through the water in a wide arc around himself, feeling the resistance against his palms. “Easier, sure, but way less pretty,” he said, as he pretended with award-winning composure that he was referring to the lake and not his oblivious instructor.  Though the lake was also pretty.
“Yeah, but with a pool you can practice kicking by holding onto the side.  For an example.”  Ted looked around; he had so much sunscreen on his face and shoulders that there was a glaze of it left on his skin.  Not enough to hide the birthmark on the back of one shoulder.  He smelled like artificial coconut, which was definitely not Booster’s favorite scent, and Booster still would have happily buried his face in Ted’s neck for a snootful.  “I mean, out here all you have to hold onto is me,” Ted added.
Booster stared at him for a second or two, then swallowed down a groan and just let himself slide below the surface because it was that or die right there.
He was laying sort-of on the floor of Lake Michigan in a speedo and goggles and the guy he was absolutely head over heels for was mostly naked and this was the single worst idea he’d ever had in his life.
But, he had to allow as he stared up through the water at the distorted image of his best friend looking down at him in what was undoubtedly a bemused fashion, there were definitely worse ways to go.

What if Far Far Away Castle was featured at Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Orlando?
20 years ago on this day, "Shrek 2" was released two days early from its initially scheduled release date, May 21, 2004. This film took the world of "Shrek", as well as DreamWorks Animation to new heights. Considering how "Shrek 2" was even better than the first movie, and also its huge box office success at the time, it gave me an idea I thought of a few years ago.
We all know how "Shrek" was supposed to be a satire of fairy tales, nursery rhymes, and even Disney classics, so I thought that since the Magic Kingdom was the main highlight for the Disney Parks (Mainly Sleeping Beauty's castle in California and Cinderella's castle in Florida), and the fact that Disney and Universal are natural rival studios, what if Universal Studios Theme Parks in the United States built a replica of King Harold and Queen Lillian's castle to compete with Disney's Magic Kingdom?
Though Far Far Away does exist at Universal Studios Singapore, here's my own interpretation for how I think Far Far Away Castle would look like in the US.
SETUP
The exterior would pretty much be the same, if not, downsized. For the interior, I imagined the castle would not only be a place you could tour around, but it could also work as a hotel. The rooms we've seen in the "Shrek" sequels like the dining room, the courtyard (complete with a wooden polished dance floor and a stage for live performances and other outdoor events), and even the library (even though you can't rent the books, as I think the shelves would be fake) would be present. The place can be loaded with bedrooms, themed off of famous DreamWorks Animation properties. Some bedrooms can also have a balcony where you can get a good view of Universal Studios from.
As far as other rooms, I was thinking there could be a swimming pool and hot tub area, a spa, an arcade, and even private movie theater screening rooms where you can watch your favorite Universal movies with your choice to see them in 2D or RealD 3D formats (depending on your liking, or what titles are available for both formats). There can also be a restricted area for adults only which offers a bar and possibly a casino, with "Shrek" themed slot machines and card tables.
This is all I've got, but since Nintendo beat us to it with Super Nintendo World (in a good way, of course), I still think this would've been a great sight to see for Universal.

Uncovering Chlorine Tablets: A Comprehensive Guide to Safe Usage, Efficacy Insights, & Everyday Applications
In the realm of water treatment and sanitation, chlorine tablets occupy a pivotal role, ensuring the purity and safety of our water sources. From swimming pools to drinking water systems, their versatility and effectiveness make them indispensable tools. However, navigating the intricacies of their usage, understanding their full potential, and exploring their myriad applications can be daunting. This comprehensive guide delves into the world of chlorine tablets, answering your questions and shedding light on their safe usage, profound efficacy, and diverse daily applications.
I. Safe Usage: Mastering the Art of Chlorination
1. Basic Understanding of Chlorine Tablets
What are they? Chlorine tablets are solid forms of chlorine, typically containing calcium hypochlorite or sodium dichloroisocyanurate, that release chlorine when dissolved in water.
Why use them? They offer a convenient and effective way to sanitize water, killing harmful bacteria, viruses, and algae.
2. Safe Handling Practices
Wear protective gear:
Always wear gloves, eye protection, and a mask when handling chlorine tablets to avoid skin and respiratory irritation.
Proper storage:
Store tablets in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and children's reach.
Dissolve before use:
Never add tablets directly to water; dissolve them in a bucket of water first to avoid splashing and uneven distribution.
3. Measuring and Dosage
Follow instructions:
Carefully read and follow the manufacturer's recommendations for dosage based on the volume of water being treated.
Testing and adjusting:
Regularly test the water's chlorine levels using a test strip or kit, and adjust the dosage as needed to maintain the desired level.
II. Efficacy Insights: The Science Behind Chlorine's Power
1. Mechanism of Action
Oxidation:
Chlorine works by oxidizing (or breaking down) the cell walls of microorganisms, rendering them harmless.
Residual effect:
Once dissolved, chlorine leaves a residual effect, providing continuous protection against contamination.
2. Benefits of Chlorination
Improved water quality:
Eliminates pathogens that can cause waterborne illnesses.
Extends water lifespan:
Reduces the growth of algae and biofilm, keeping water clearer for longer.
Easy maintenance:
Chlorine tablets simplify the sanitization process, requiring minimal effort and time.
3. Addressing Concerns
By-products:
While some concerns exist about chlorination by-products, proper dosage and ventilation minimize these risks.
Sensitivity:
For those with chlorine sensitivity, alternative sanitizers or lower doses may be considered.
III. Daily Applications: Where Chlorine Tablets Shine
1. Swimming Pools
Maintenance:
Regularly adding chlorine tablets to pool water maintains hygiene, preventing the spread of illness and algae growth.
Shock treatments:
During peak seasons or after heavy use, higher doses of tablets can be used for shock treatments to quickly sanitize the water.
2. Hot Tubs and Spas
Cleanliness:
Similar to pools, hot tubs require regular chlorination to keep the water clean and safe for soaking.
Odor control:
Chlorine helps neutralize organic matter that can cause unpleasant odors.
3. Emergency Water Purification
Disaster preparedness:
In emergency situations, chlorine tablets can be used to purify drinking water from natural sources, such as rivers or wells.
Portable solutions:
Lightweight and easy to transport, they make for an ideal addition to any disaster preparedness kit.
4. Aquariums and Ponds
Controlled environments:
While less common than in swimming pools, chlorine tablets can be used in small, controlled aquarium setups to combat algae blooms.
Caution:
Always follow specialized guidelines for aquatic life, as excessive chlorine can be harmful to fish and plants.
IV. Conclusion
Chlorine tablets are invaluable tools in the fight against water contamination, offering a safe, efficient, and cost-effective solution for various applications. By mastering their safe usage, understanding their scientific underpinnings, and exploring their diverse daily applications, we can harness their power to ensure the purity and safety of our water sources. Remember, with proper handling and responsible use, chlorine tablets become powerful allies in our quest for cleaner, healthier living environments.

It’s no secret that climate change is leading to more frequent and more severe weather events, many of which result in water damage to Canadians’ homes and belongings. Most standard home insurance policies cover sudden and accidental water damage caused by things like a burst pipe or a popped waterbed, but damage caused by water that enters your home from other sources such as a heavy rainfall, a sewer backup, or a sump pump failure is likely not automatically covered.
That’s why Economical has combined overland water and sewer backup coverage as an optional policy add-on, so homeowners like you can extend your protection far beyond what’s included in a basic home insurance policy. Your standard home insurance policy normally includes coverage for:
Damage caused by sudden or accidental water escape from household sources like burst interior water pipes, hot water tanks, waterbeds, aquariums, swimming pools, and hot tubs. Overland water and sewer backup coverage protects your property from:
Damage caused by sudden accumulation of ground water or surface water, such as excessive rain, overflowing rivers, spring run-off, or melting snow. (Note: This excludes damage caused by saltwater, including tidal waves and tsunamis.) Damage to your property caused by the rupture or escape of water from a sewer, drain, sump pump, or septic system. Damage caused by the escape of water resulting from a collapse, rupture, leak, or break in your service line. Your service line is the exterior water line, for which you are liable, that connects to your home from public water supplies, private wells, retention ponds, or cisterns, including pipes that drain water away from your home or any other structure.
If you have questions about the water coverage or limits included in your existing home insurance policy, or if you’d like to find out if you qualify for overland water and sewer backup coverage, contact your licensed broker today.

Why Renting a Condo is Better Than Hotel When Travelling?
Tumblr media
Traveling gives you a great chance to explore new places, meet diverse cultures, and make unforgettable memories. Be it a tropical getaway to the Cayman Islands or a city break in any busy metropolis, one of the most crucial decisions you will ever have to make is choosing your place of accommodation.
Hotels have been the popular choice for many years, but there is an increased preference for rental condos. This blog shares why renting a condo may be better than staying in a hotel.
Your personal space
One of the main advantages of renting condos over hotels is that they offer more room to stay in. Grand Cayman condo rentals provide generous living areas, unlike hotel rooms, which tend to be cramped and confining. Such cases may best suit families or friends going on vacation together. Condos usually have several bedrooms, living rooms, and maybe kitchens, hence giving everyone space even as they feel at home.
Consider waking up inside your Grand Cayman condo rentals with plenty of room to sip your morning coffee while sitting on your private balcony observing turquoise waters below you. Most hotel establishments need don’t provide this level of comfort and personal space that comes with staying in a condominium unit like this one can offer you.
After having spent the entire day exploring, you can relax in a separate living area without disturbing someone else’s children who are playing around.
Affordable when compared to hotels
At first glance, renting condos might seem expensive compared to booking hotel rooms. However, taking into account all aspects involved, it might turn out cheaper if one intends to stay for a long time here. Hotel charges are per night and the costs can add up quickly if you need multiple rooms.
In contrast to this, many condos offer weekly and monthly rates, which means that the price per night may be significantly lower.
Also, having access to a kitchen means that meals can be prepared for you, thereby saving money meant for eating out. This is very important, especially in places such as the Cayman Islands, where dining out is quite expensive.
Privacy without next-door neighbors
Hotels usually have many guests coming in and going out. Sometimes, this can ruin the tranquillity you wish for while on holiday. On the other hand, condos are often more private. You will not have to worry about any loud neighbors next door or interruptions made by housekeeping at the wrong times.
In a condo, you can enjoy your personal space, making it easier to relax and unwind. Being able to spend some time alone in your apartment block, either on a private swimming pool deck, balcony, or somewhere else. This is what makes this type of accommodation better than staying in hotels, as it creates an exclusive experience during traveling.
Local Experience
Living in a condo will give you a much more immersive travel experience than staying in a hotel would do. The majority of these units are located outside common tourist areas, hence providing an opportunity to live like residents. It implies that there exists a stronger bond between tourists and these destinations that enables them to discover hidden gems that are best for local inhabitants.
For example, taking a Cayman Islands apartment on rent provides an opportunity to discover the island in your own time. Visiting local markets, talking with locals, and finding hidden seashores that are not popular tourist attractions, among other things, make this traveling so memorable.
Amenities and Facilities
Despite boasting different amenities in hotels, condos sometimes vie with or even surpass them. Others come with luxurious features such as private swimming pools, hot tubs, gyms, and tennis courts. Moreover, for long stays, a condo saves you the hustle of doing laundry elsewhere since it has washing machines.
For example, Grand Cayman condo rentals can offer stunning vista points, direct beach entrances, and modern conveniences for your comfortable stay. When you think about being able to prepare your meals, wash your clothes, and have private amenities, it’s clear how much better vacationing in one of these units can be.
Flexibility and Personalization
However, compared to condos, hotels have rigid timings, including check-ins and check-outs, housekeeping hours, and eating schedules. On the contrary, with a condo, there are no limitations or times to follow, like cooking anytime according to one’s needs or just having all the space in privacy without any distractions whatsoever.
Similar personalization extends to how furniture is arranged inside the dwelling place, too. Most likely, they are owned by individuals who maintain their specific layouts, making them warm and cozy in unique ways, unlike hotel rooms, which feel commonly homogenous.
Safety and Security
Safety is of the utmost importance when traveling. Condominiums usually have better security measures than hotels. Some housing complexes have gated entrances, while others employ watchmen who typically patrol the neighborhoods, ensuring that nothing goes wrong regarding the safety of your possessions or your personal well-being.
Besides, during epidemics, having only limited contact with other guests or workers in a hotel is safer than being at a condominium, where there are fewer people walking around. Thus, condos can be preferable to those caring about their health in this case.
Impact on the Environment
Condo rentals can be more environmentally friendly for people who care about the environment. Many condo rentals also recycle, use energy-efficient appliances, and conserve water. This way, you can avoid waste by cooking your meals and doing your laundry within the premises, thereby reducing pollution.
Choosing a condo that promotes sustainable living practices is one way to become an active participant in conserving Cayman's natural resources.
Conclusion
Compared to hotels, renting a condo has many benefits. These include additional space and comfort, savings on costs, privacy, and local authenticity that most hotels cannot offer. Whether you are looking for a brief holiday or planning to stay longer, consider Cayman Islands condominium rentals.
Therefore, when making arrangements for your next vacation, embrace the flexibility, personalized service, and home-like surroundings that come with condos. By choosing a condominium rental, you will get involved in real-life scenarios that highlight the best services possible in world-class facilities. Transform your trip by researching various options available regarding accommodation facilities in the Cayman Islands.
However, it is important to note that finding appropriate lodging is essential if one wants to have an unforgettable vacation experience. Numerous condos are available through Cayman real estate rentals that cater to every budget type and ensure an exquisite stay.

Service Apartments Delhi: Affordable and luxury options for your stay
For tenants on a budget, finding an affordable rental service apartment can be a daunting task. With the rising costs of rent in many cities and towns across the world, it's important to find an option that won't break the bank.
Choose the right option for your stay
There are a few options available for those looking for an affordable rental service apartment. One of the best options for tenants is to look into shared housing. Shared housing refers to renting out a room or multiple rooms within an existing home or apartment shared by other occupants. This option is typically one of the most cost-effective and allows tenants to enjoy amenities such as laundry facilities, kitchen access, and even shared living space all at a fraction of the cost compared to traditional apartments.
This type of arrangement is perfect for students or young professionals who want to save money while still living in their preferred location. Another great option for tenants is short-term rentals.
Service Apartment Delhi is great for those who may need temporary housing in between moves or if they are traveling on business or pleasure trips and don’t want to commit long-term. Short-term rentals typically offer flexible leases that range from 1 month up to 12 months with some properties allowing even shorter stays of just one week or less! These agreements also usually include utilities such as trash removal, internet/data connection, electricity, water/sewerage, etc., so it's important to ask about what's included when shopping around for this type of rental agreement.
Finally, cities offer subsidized housing services which provide low-cost housing options specifically designed for individuals with limited incomes and financial difficulties. Subsidized housing programs vary by location but generally involve government assistance in paying part of the tenant’s rent each month so they can afford more suitable living arrangements than they would have otherwise been able to obtain without help from these programs.
These are just a few examples of what types of affordable rental service apartments potential tenants should consider when searching for their ideal living situation on a budget. Be sure to research all available options thoroughly before making any decisions as there may be additional restrictions depending on your particular situation that could affect your ability to take advantage of these services.
Luxury and Unforgettable stay
Affordable rental service apartments provide a great solution for travelers in search of luxury accommodations at an affordable price. If you’re looking for a place to stay that doesn’t break the bank, yet offers all the creature comforts and amenities of a high-end hotel, then an apartment rental could be just what you need.
Rental apartments offer a great alternative to pricey hotels, with many offering luxurious furnishings and appliances such as flat screen TVs, full kitchens, and even hot tubs or swimming pools. You can also often find extras like free Wi-Fi or parking included in your stay.
Vacation Rentals in Delhi is even pet friendly, making them ideal for those traveling with their four-legged friends. The cost of renting an apartment is typically far less than staying in a hotel. Additionally, since you'll be cooking your own meals instead of going out to eat every night, you can expect to save even more money on food costs during your stay.
Another advantage of choosing a rental apartment is that they're typically available for long-term stays. This makes them perfect for business travelers who may be relocating to the area or simply need somewhere comfortable to stay while on assignment. With long-term rentals, you can usually get an even better rate than if you were booking nightly or weekly stays – another way to save some cash while enjoying luxury living!
No matter what type of vacationer you are – from budget traveler to corporate executive – there is sure to be an affordable rental service apartment option that suits your needs perfectly. With so many benefits available at such low prices, why settle for anything less?
Conclusion
In conclusion, rental service apartments are a great option for those looking for an affordable and luxurious accommodation option. They offer many amenities such as flat screen TVs, full kitchens, hot tubs or swimming pools, and free Wi-Fi or parking. They are also pet friendly and available for long-term stays, making them ideal for business travelers. With nightly rates under $100 USD and the ability to cook your own meals, these apartments offer an incredible value that can't be beat. Whether you're a budget traveler or corporate executive, choosing a rental service apartment is sure to satisfy your needs.
