lmo, I think I figured out my beef with the way some people write sex scenes. Let me be clear I'm pro sex scene. I'm bisexual, being horny is our MO. But fr, like where's the sensuality. Like why is reading some sex scenes in books like watching p*rn, and that's not me knocking p*rn at all like I got videos i enjoy but like watching it I lower my expectations cause I know what I'm getting into (unless two of my faves in it. Then I'm all eyes and ears) but its like I feel like idk if we're writing a romance or erotica. Like just the act of the sex, just being nasty is not enough. Imo where's the admiration of the body, where's the heat flushing through the skin. Where's the 'can I touch you' where's the build up. Wheres the anticipation. Like I'm not a prude I just feel like we can do a bit better. Like, come on now. Like nothing wrong with getting down and dirty but some stuff just feels apathetic (or detached/devoid of feeling in case thats the wrong word) or very hollow. And I keep seeing it

Okay I need to vent this shit

So I got cranberry raisins the other day

And I didn’t even notice because I got trail mix with raisins in it, I thought they were normal raisins, which I like

But NO

Instead, I get these dry, barely sweet, incredibly sour, soft raisins that are apparently

Now I don’t normally have an issue with cranberries, in fact I think the juice is alright.

But THESE cranberries have lost everything good about them, and are super soft and have awful texture.

It feels like I’m eating some raisins that were soaked with water, dried, and then had the flavor removed.

I swear it’s like god said “yeah, these raisins? Make them awful.”

When we got to Edinburgh yesterday, I had a very yummy pain au raisin. So obviously I had to buy this Jellycat pain au raisin guy when I saw him today.

ok no but the phenomena of lxc/lsz is fascinating. I'M INTO IT, AS A WARNING, but it's fascinating! because it seems like there's something more out there than, idk, the pair the spares vibe of lxc/jc, "hehe the tsundere should get someone to tease him" vibe of nhs/jc, or "this dynamic is amusing, what if we add romance" of jc/ljy.

like -- obviously, there's the incest, which is always sexy, but also... aah, I Feel it, but how to put it in words? in a way, they're similar in that they have this aura of absolute harmlessnes about them; not because they're weak or cowardly, but because they wouldn't want to harm anyone in the first place. they're Good Boys, those who get assigned "legally can't say fuck" in those stupid memes. hell, most probably it was lxc and not lwj who took care of lsz very early on, so it makes sense they're alike. and they're a sorta-nephew and a sorta-uncle! what if they fucked.

the thrill of making Good Wholesome Boys do something uhhh unwholesome? addictive.

BUT ALSO it's the "others first, I'll wait" tendencies. what if they wanted something and pursued it, for themselves, even if they knew it was ~wrong~? one of the often occuring things in xizhui fics i've noticed was the mutual attraction that started much earlier than the relationship itself, be it lsz having a crush on his unfairly ripped hot uncle (maybe even initially thinking it's normal, because all his friends admit he's hot, cmon, that's an objective Fact) or lxc getting flustered because lsz is growing into a fine young man, huh, who would've thought. there's also the fact that lxc is often just... incapable of being harsh or stern towards lsz; he loves him, wants to protect him and make him happy (yet another trope: lsz making the first step and lxc either allowing him to do whatever he needs, or resisting in the weakest way possible only to give in not even a minute in).

i feel like it's a... maybe not crunchy, but chewy pairing? because obviously there's the the sexy forbidden factor of both incest (although they're not related, etc, etc) and an age gap, but also because the characters are who they are, it doesn't have to be inherently wrong and scarring. these two can be happy together!

BUT THEN. there are two fics that i know of that don't go this route, instead opting for the more realistic, bitter ending: it's wrong for lxc to use lsz like that, it's inappropriate, and it hurts not just lsz himself but also lwj, jgy and wwx. and they end up having to make the painful but necessary decision to remove him from their lives! this dear, loving lxc, who was always so eager to help, so caring, so familial. THIS is crunchy, and i feel i find the flavour similar to that of the fics where lxc is married/dating nmj, but for some reason or another cheats on him with jgy. who also might or might not be younger. there's just something in lxc that makes one want to see him do bad things, while knowing they're bad, and doing them anyway. something something evil jiang clan motto

he's so handsome, so noble and pure-hearted, so tragic in canon, so... sincere and earnest! and he never goes to go feral, have a meltdown, even when he tells wwx off, it's on behalf of his brother he's so protective of. it already is incredibly attractive to imagine him just letting all his pain out, LET ALONE do something bad for his own pleasure. especially post-canon! he's all alone while his brother is happy. nothing matters anymore! why not seduce and fuck a teenager! (it's not always lsz, you know.)

oh!! and of course the delightful fuck or die/dubcon!! there's... definitely more than one fic where lsz has to fuck lxc in order to save him from a qi deviation. there's definitely more than one fic where lxc, for some reason, fucks lsz while thinking he's jgy. there's one fic where they fall into a trap of this like, cauldron-like array and have to do their best not to let the voices in their heads take control and use the other to consume all their energy, and it's SO amazing and hot BECAUSE lxc is resisting all the time while seeing, both because of the array and not because of it, that he wants lsz. there's more than one fic where there's drugging in question (fancy teas!). and finally there's one sex pollen fic that always cracks me up and i know it sounds impossible but TRUST ME it's hilarious and adorable.
