A pred that has healing stomach properties, but not for a wholesome purpose. Their digestive enzymes contain a component that accelerate’s their prey’s metabolism while digesting them to make their meal last longer and gain more sustenance from their prey. So their prey could literally die in their stomach only to be brought back to life and repeat the process over and over again until the pred decides to digest them for good. Essentially it gives the pred more sustenance per prey (and more trauma >:))

This could also be used in an interesting way with preds who don’t want to permanently kill their prey, only devouring them long enough to get the sustenance they need then release them. Could be an interesting pred/prey duo where the pred repeatedly devours their (possibly captive) prey friend whenever they’re hungry, but keeps them alive as an infinite food source.

thinking about a giant merman who swallows an entire civilization to save them from sinking to their deaths (inspired by atlantis but it doesn't have to be atlantis). in exchange for safety, shelter and a reliable food source in his stomach, all their new king asks for is five sacrifices every year. these are supposedly randomly picked, but the city council will usually pick people they have a vendetta against or those who are "disposable", such as prisoners. the sacrifices are dragged to the centre of the stomach, the lake (which is really just the king's stomach acid) and thrown in. nothing that goes in ever comes out, presumably becoming nutrients for the king...

...but the truth is far stranger. instead of being digested, the sacrifices are sent down into watery depths. they black out and wake up with the ability to breathe underwater. there is no up or down anymore. all they can do is swim and hope to find something to latch onto.

there are many interesting things in this vast ocean. old treasures, sunken ships that are still sinking (no matter how hard they try, the sacrifices cannot find the bottom), the bones of various fish, and many other interesting things. they also encounter monstrous creatures that constantly hunt them in this dark abyss, ready to snatch someone up the second they're off guard. those who manage to survive stick together and start to accept their new reality. as soon as they feel secure, though, strange things begin to happen to their bodies. webs growing between fingers and toes, scales tearing through flesh and taking over, teeth sharpening to fine points. slowly, oh so slowly, they tear apart and reform into the very creatures they once feared. it's not death, but maybe it's worse. now all they know is hunger. the cycle repeats, and the king is satisfied.

Fucked up existential regeneration

Pred that assures you they can regenerate you after digesting you- and they really believe they can. Because they can reconstruct a perfect replica of you, memories and all, that believes it’s you. But your soul can only watch on in horror as your clone goes on to take your place, with nobody, not even the predator who ate you, realizing the difference.

Bonus if ‘you’ become a regular snack for the pred- gradually joined by the copies of yourself, spiraling in horror as they realize the truth about their existence, with no way of warning either the pred or the future copies of themselves of the reality of the situation…

The World Eater has no inherent moral compass, no inate compassion for the inhabitants of worlds, It merely sustains itself.

However in the effort of "fairness", the World Eater holds conference with one individual of a worlds choosing, whose job is to convince the World Eater their planet deserves life.

By great misfortune this worlds choosen not a government official, debator, tactician or scholar. But one wholy average and woefully unprepared individual.

So how do you convince an ambivalent god to value your life?

Video game I saw in a dream. It was in this low poly style like an older video game. You play as this character I think was meant to be a lamb, or maybe a weird mix of a lamb a mouse and a rabbit, (while not really looking like any of those things) and you’re running away from a wolf. Your objective is to last as long as possible before the wolf catches and eats you.

The house you’re running in is endless and bizarrely put together like most building interiors in dreams are (like the infinite toilet dream dimension on Reddit lol) the layout of the house is pretty detailed, you can stop and hide in places like closets or bins while the wolf looks for you, you can go up and down stairs and into rooms etc.

You never actually know where the wolf is or how close it is to you until it appears in your line of sight, it makes no noise and the game gives you no way of knowing where it is, and it’s pretty unpredictable it doesnt move at a consistent pace. When the wolf catches you there’s an animation showing it eating your character
