#horror cult novel

So I’m currently brainstorming for my cult horror novel and would like to take some ideas and suggestions!

So far, it certainly will include:

a classic summer camp horror setting

summer camp run by a cult that bases themself off of fertility and success

multiple queer relationships

I would like to hear some more ideas about what readers in general would like more of! I would love to be able to write some new ideas into the plots and make the world of this novel much more fleshed out (pun intended).

What kinds of representation, tropes, dynamics, plots, etc would you guys like to see?

[A] work of epistolary fiction and metafiction focusing on a fictional documentary film titled the Navidson Record, presented as a story within a story discussed in a handwritten monograph recovered by the primary narrator, Johnny Truant. The narrative makes heavy use of multiperspectivity as Truant's footnotes chronicle his efforts to transcribe the manuscript, which itself reveals the Navidson Record's supposed narrative through transcriptions and analysis depicting a story of a family who discovers a larger-on-the-inside labyrinth in their house.

i was looking for a 100-ish chapter popcorn danmei to read (as you do) followed a promising sounding recommendation on a reddit thread, was prepared to read this book, looked down and saw 589 chapters .

Ngl I think the young adult genre actually is what got me to stop reading as a kid like as soon as I hit 6th grade I was like why is this all fucking garbage

OK but like I actually think about this constantly. What if there's a music genre someone would've adored but they weren't alive for its invention yet. What if great great grandma would've been a bo en fan too. What if my family back to its first conceptions is actually full of genderfluid bi people like me who just never figured it out for various reasons. What if grandma would've liked RPGs if she knew what they were. What if great grandpa would've liked anime. What if in the future they invent the perfect fashion subculture for me and I don't live long enough to see it. What if.

we talk a lot about ohhhh what if my calling is to be the greatest mammoth hunter ever and I'm wasting my talents in the modern era but we never think about what if Thog from 30,000 BCE was the only person ever born who could get a sub-7min Donkey Kong Country any%, and he never got the chance. what about thog
