follow up to the comic book creator post that i forgot to do

first of all some of these creatures have different names in different sources. on the wiki ethelmermouth IS called bunzo, wihch is almost the same as the similar looking brunzo in the cbc

(also the wiki points out it might have made it into the final game in some form and i definitely see the similarity between it and lowha)

also Quilly, the first one in that image, is actually this guy from when the fur system was in place. this one is also apparently named differently, being Quills (maybe quill singular?). its the same deal as Furry which is in the final game

quilly does look somewhat different even beyond the quills though, the heycorns were adjusted for example

which is, pretty obviously, just the evolved form of screeble from the 2006 showcase (image source). im not sure why it has a different name here though

the paints are different too it seems, and some parts were adjusted with morph handles, also the feet are different

fishtistic is in the game still, and share smost of the parts, but has completely different paints, the parts were adjusted, and the batboys on the head were replaced with finneas

it has an interesting looking speckly paint. the eyes sort of look more rounder than in the final game too

furry is still in final with a different paint, otherwise looks pretty much the same

its worth noting it also originates from the 2006 renders, where it also looks pretty much the same but with different paints yet again, and also uses the scrapped fur system

this isnt in final. the name comes from gila monsters though. also this uses one of the bacteria paints but it looks kind of weird?

gnosh is in final still, with adjusted hands, keratinhorns on the head instead of slimslam kablam on the back, different eyes and different paints. interestingly its counterpart konoc doesnt seem to be in the comic book creator

which contrary to its name looks more like a vaguely mammalian bird thing

theres a creature named Hornytoad in final that DOES live up to its name. shares almost nothing with horneytoad aside from the eyes and having antlers (different ones though)

this one was cut but its another asymmetric creature! interestingly im pretty sure the grasper (which is on its left) is actually using the right hand model so its thumb is on the wrong side

i think the paints look weird in all of these images because theyre missing their bump maps. so theyre all kind of uniformly flat
