So.... For a while, my brain was thinking random shit.
Some brainrot, ideas & bits I want to draw (but know that I probably won't finish it or even work on it lol), more brainrot from some interesting AUs... Things like that.
But while I was feeding my brainrot for the DCA, I thought of something...
So... I vaguely remember seeing someone having the headcanon about Fazbear Entertainment having multiple mega pizza plexs at different locations. That and me remembering the canon info about the plex having a SHIT TON of endoskeletons (both corrupted/hacked and non-corrupted ones), for what I presume is mainly for repair/replace/any maintenance for the Glamrock Crew.
With these random things in my mind... It got me thinking.... Would Fazbear Entertainment during the development of planning out/building the plex, make prototypes and do some lazy testing?
Like yeah... Fazbear Entertainment in general are shady as fuck, WILL take a LOT of dangerous risks for a quick buck, WILL 100% cover up anything that would result in being in hot water. The list could go ooooon... But I would imagine this company would "try" to do something properly...
Why I mention this at all? Well... AU idea!
What if there was an old DCA prototype animatronics that wasn't used? Like during its development/testing phase it didn't make the cut due to certain reasons. (I still need to iron out that bit lol)
So... The prototypes failed and are put away in storage until the company figures out what to do with it. Probably be used for spare parts or be completely scrapped altogether. But that's a problem the company can deal with later...
Some years passed by annnnd the company realized that the old prototypes are basically useless to them (In the terms of replacing parts due to different model parts). And they can't simply scrap them so easily unless they want to deal with a LOT backlash.
What will Fazbear Entertainment do about this 'difficult' predicament?
Sold the prototypes for $50 and a lot of paperwork... I do mean a LOT of paperwork... For legal reasons (mainly to avoid legal liability)
But who in the world would buy possibly glitchy, dangerous, faulty robots from a company with a sketchy rumors and suspicious history?
You would! ....Or well Y/N would. Why did they do this? Well... Why not?
(The reason isn't ironed out just yet lol)
What would you do after getting two inactive robots with incomplete manuals/vague scribbles of notes annnnd little to no experience with working with machinery?
Fake it till you make it!
I'm suuuuurrrrre nothing bad will happen.....
(I'll stop here for now... Think of this as part 1. Don't worry, I am currently working on the other parts as we speak! Part 2 will be out before you know it!)
Part 2

hello^^
one, your writing is beautiful and it always brings a smile to my face when i read it
and two, could we get a bad sanses +cross x reader where the reader is small? like the reader is below 5’2” (157cm) and they’re pretty slim??
Hello! I'm overjoyed to know that my silly writing brings a smile to your face, that's exactly what I aim for! :D
Hope this'll be to your liking! ^^
I realized, that I forgot to add the part about the reader being slim, only after writing it 💀 I'm stupid, sorry for that! 😭
MASTERLIST
BAD SANSES X SHORT!READER
NIGHTMARE:
PLATONIC
It doesn't surprise him in the slightest that you're much shorter than him. (He has some sort of god complex going on)
He has a habit of overlooking you, cause he never pays much attention to you.
You often trip just because of him.
He's such an asshole, I swear.
He gives you the more easier tasks, cause he doesn't believe you can do the harder ones.
Prove him wrong, and the next task you'll get will be something like... "Go destroy this AU." And it's like a solo mission too 💀
This dude gives zero shits about you. (He's just acting like a higher-up.)
ROMANTIC
If you stirr some romantic feelings in Nightmare, then he'll immediately notices your height difference. It's actually one of the main things he notices, other than your cute face.
He's not going to go soft on you though. He WILL tease the everliving shit out of you. But his teasing is actually so harsh, his words seriously hurt you. (And he doesn't even aim for that 😭)
Don't worry, it's not long before he gets softer with you, and tone your teasing down.
He literally doesn't let you do the dangerous missions. Or he will, but will team you up with himself. (He thinks he's so slick.)
Other than that, he doesn't really care about your height.
KILLER:
PLATONIC
He loves your shortness. Will make fun of you, almost every chance he gets.
He uses so many puns against you.
He's actually the shortest of the bad senses, so he partly forgets about the fact that he's almost the same height as you. 💀
Man's so goofy, you'll literally become best friends.
He loves to leave you hanging when you need help from him. (Evil at its fittest.)
Imagine you need something from the top shelf, and you can't reach it. So you ask Killer for help. He won't help you. He smiles wide while he's leaving, with you screaming profanities in the background.
ROMANTIC
He giggles the first time he sees your height. (Like he isn't the same height as you 💀)
He LOVES to help you get things from higher places. Makes him feel like your personal hero.
He would somehow convince Nightmare to make him and you go on missions together. (He just annoyed him with it until Nightmare eventually gave up.)
He likes teasing you, kinda like Nightmare does, but his teasing is more like flirting..if it makes sense. It leaves you a blushing mess, and he loves that fact.
You two have little teasing war. He makes fun of your height, and you in turn, make fun of his height.
Y'all are so silly, you're just flirting with each other at this point. 💀
DUST:
PLATONIC
Dust is just one of the people that doesn't pay attention to the heights of others. Or any of these sort of things.
He just doesn't care. 💀
You're not even a monster of some kind he could monitor, you hold no interest in him.
There's like an 80% chance that he'll ignore you altogether.
Though he has some standards, so he'll try to defend you if the others are making fun of your height. (Only if he has a good day though. Don't count on it 💀)
ROMANTIC
Even if he felt some sort of romantic attraction towards you, he just won't care about your height.
He'll probably just say like three puns about your height, but he won't comment on it any more.
He actually finds your height difference pretty adorable. He just wants to hold you tight and not let go.
He'll gladly help you if you needed something from a higher place. He quite likes it, actually.
He won't even ask Nightmare if he could go on missions with you. He just goes. (Nightmare will be fuming when he finds out 💀)
He'll be acting like he doesn't like it when you ask him for anything, y'know, acting like his emo self 🙄
HORROR:
PLATONIC
He audibly sighs, when he sees your height. You're another person on his list of people that he has to look down at, to actually talk to you.
But he does feel a little afraid of accidentally hurting you. You're just so small compared to him...
He makes it his mission to actively avoid you, just so he won't hurt you :(
You misunderstand it as him not liking you. Which results in more misunderstanding 💀
Doesn't try to acknowledge your height that much. He knows how frustrating it is to constantly hear about your height... So he doesn't do it. Which you greatly appreciate ^^
ROMANTIC
He has the same first reaction if he fell in love with you. He sighs, but it sounds more... Whiny...
He just feels really scared of hurting you, but he can't avoid you either, just cause he wants to talk to you. It's a real struggle.
Other than that, actually finds your shortness really cute. And he doesn't mean it teasingly, he means it genuinely.
Wants to be around you at all times, he wants to protect you. You've got yourself your own guard dog 💀
Appoints himself as your mission buddy. Doesn't even bother to ask for a permission from Nightmare. (This is gonna bring a little trouble to him in the future..)
Loves to carry you around on his shoulders. Not only do you feel taller, but he feels really good while having you on his shoulders. It's like he can show you off to anyone proudly.
You don't even have to ask him for help, he's already up and ready to help you out. He just has this feeling that you need help.
Can you tell that I like "short partner x tall partner" troupe?
Anyways, just thought that I'd show you what my HC on their height is at the end.
From tallest to shortest:
Horror, Reaper, Nightmare, Dream, Fresh, Swap, Dust - Epic (same height), Killer - Error - Cross (they're all the same height), Fell - Classic (same height), Ink (shortest lmao)
No one can top Horror's height. He's just the tallest of the Sanses 🤷‍♀️
(I think that the thought of Reaper being taller than Nightmare is funny.)

Meeting Goku x reader headcanons!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(It's an AU where Chi-chi doesn't meet Goku because I love my girl and I simply hate angst.)
May be ooc since it's my first time writing </3 but overall it's just Fluff!!
Haven't checked for any spelling mistakes I'm too lazy.
Okay so I've recently became a Goku simp and Dragon Ball lover, and I've noticed there's little to no works about him. Which surprised me with how popular the DB series are. Anyways we'll talk about this another time let's begin!!
1k
Tumblr media
To Begin, you and Goku met during the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament where you both fought.
Even though you were beaten easily, Goku was amazed to find a strong woman for the first time. He immediately fell in love. (he's too dumb to figure it out and needed Krillin's help.)
Which lead him to ask to train and spar together when you'd both be free. So like everyday.
But of course it wasn't enough interaction for our lovely saiyan so Krillin's helped his best bud having dates ideas such as going to the beach together, going on restaurants (sadly you're the one paying
You two even nap together!!
As you guys may know, this man has got no experience about what personal space means.
So don't be surprised if you get trapped in a hug randomly if you guys nap together!!
No matter how far your beds are he'll randomly find a way to stick with you.
Of course there are some days where Goku may piss you off..
For exemple, when he asks too many dumb questions that your brain just want to disconnect.
Or when you simply don't want to train yet Goku doesn't understand why since training is literally all his life so he could be overwhelming without knowing it.
So you see theses excuses we use when we're too lazy to go out with friends? That was your first thought.
You'll sick to not train since it's the only way to escape training you found yet.
With how dumb he is, you could easily avoid the senzu beans solution.
Unless someone reminds him about it... ( Either it's Krillin, Yamcha etc... )
When learning who told him about it you'll always have a grudge against them.
You'll always be able to count on Bulma though!! Since she knows how men could be such a pain.
Y'all are besties forever and goes shopping at least once in the month (She's such a generous BFF she'll pay for everything)
You both always gossip.
However, Goku hates the days when you go hang out with Bulma.
He's just so bored.. Even if he can train, nap and eat as much as he'd like which is supposed to be his favourite hobbies it won't help..
He just has the need urge to see you!!
So sometimes, when he knows where you and Bulma hangs out, he'll randomly pop up out of nowhere with the Nimbus cloud.
Disappointed, Bulma still gets the message and sometimes will leave you two alone.
"Huh leaving already Bulma? You usually stay longer!" You exclaimed confused as why she was packing up so early.
"Sorry n/n! I just remembered I have a special meeting with some scientists!! Here's the money to pay for the addition. See ya!!" Bulma said in a rush as she left too much money on the table.
"Hold on Bulma you-" You were about to yell so she could take the money back before Goku interrupted you, putting a hand on your shoulder.
"It's too late Y/n she's already gone now! Why don't you accept the money?" Goku said with his usual innocent which made you sigh in disbelief. Yet you didn't felt like scolding him right now you were too tired.
"I hope you don't want us to spar or train right now.. I'm too lazy." You mumbled with an irritated voice not wanting to deal with that right now.
"Heheee.. I just wanted to see you!!" Goku chuckled with his usual goofy smile that you started to like so much (But you didn't wanted to admit it yet...)
"You interrupted me and Bulma for that?.."
"But she has to go anyways!!"
"... Fair point."
Too lazy to argue further you just decided to let him win only this time. Since it was very late and you are the laziest person ever.
"Oh!" You heard Goku yell and wondered what that was about.
"Hm? What's up?" You asked him wanting to know what's on his mind.
"How about I take you on a ride home on the Nimbus? We'll get to watch the stars together!!" Goku said patting the Yellow cloud beside him.
"I guess I wouldn't mind..." You said as a small smile appears on your face.
Knowing that only pure-hearted people can go on it you decided to put a hand on the Nimbus and not to your surprise it went through it. Goku seemed very surprised though.
"How? You're one of the kindest person I know!!" Goku frowned wondering why that didn't work but you just chuckled at how innocent and cute dumb he was.
"That's not how it works Goku.."
"How does it works then?"
"I'll explain you another day. I'm too lazy right now... But what do we do now??
After your question, Goku put a hand on his chin thinking about a solution. He found it faster that what you were expecting.
" What about you get on my lap?" Goku said smilling innocently which made you blush.
"Why are you all red so suddenly Y/n??" You just brush it off not wanting to break his innocence of the poor guy.
"Just forget it alright? I'll go on your lap."
Goku chuckles in happiness hearing this. He wasted no time sitting on the Nimbus cloud and putting you on his lap.
He also took the opportunity to place his chin on your head. Which made you blush a little.
"Ready Y/n ?" Goku said Holding your waist. Too lazy as always you just nodded with a hum.
The Nimbus started to make it's way towards your home, as you took the opportunity to watch the beauty of the sky.
Goku smiled at your amazement, he found you so cute.
" Like what you're seeing Y/n?" Goku asked, his happiness obvious in his voice.
However, he heard nothing.
"Y/n ??" Goku asked looking at you just to find you asleep.
Oh well... He was already happy having you in his arms
He made a big detour to enjoy this moment even if you were sleeping.
Tumblr media
Oh my god this took much longer than expected... The way I decided to randomly write headcanons out of nowhere instead of finishing my homeworks is wild. I hope y'all will like this!! If not I'll probably kms but it was very fun to write though!!
Will maybe do that another time if I don't forget this account 😭😭
Take care <33

Halloween Headcanons (Months early lol)
My last post was such a flop I heard the crickets chirping before I even got on tumblr omg
Since nobody is giving me ideas, I'm just gonna do short n sweet headcanons on one (at least) character from each of the fandoms I'm in... Or at least the ones I can remember. Idk why but I can't wait until spooky month so we're doing Halloween-themed HCs!!!!!! I frickin' love the holidays :D
I won't be using images in my post this time just because I'm like half asleep and I need to yap. (I have no energy and I must yap /ref)
First up, Jason Todd! (Batman)
I think he'd avoid dressing up for trick or treating because his fave is Wonder Woman... Bro's not about to traumatize every child that sees him. However, if he is craving candy hard enough, he'd go in a lazier or goofy costume. You know those unicorn onesies? That's for if he isn't in the mood for ghits and shiggles. An inflatable dinosaur costume is his go-to if he's in a better mood.
I bet he'd have everything planned, too. He knows where all the rich people are and which ones give out the full-sized candy bars or any cool light up toys that make little kids jealous because they have no idea where to find them at.
If he were to go trick or treating with anyone, I think it'd probably be the Batfam as a whole (They don't trust him with not stealing some kid's candy bucket).
Next, Touya Todoroki! (MHA)
This is an AU one where he isn't dying because I don't want him to die (Insert sob emoji).
Since Enji himself is in a wheelchair, he isn't able to push Touya around. He was absolutely devastated by that and begged Natsuo and Fuyumi to take their older brother out to trick or treat since Shoto was with his friends.
Touya would either do a costume to heal his inner child or a lazier one that's comfortable and doesn't irritate his skin. Either way, he's demanding that they go to every house around no matter how long it takes. Any time he gets candy he doesn't like, he asks Natsuo to trade with him LOL
At the end of the night, Enji has to lock away the candy so Touya doesn't scarf it all down and get a stomach ache. He does anyway since it was 'hidden' in the same spot it had always been.
Onto Arlan! (HSR)
My boy doesn't get enough love <3
I think his excitement after hearing about Halloween's existence would be enough to convince the spaceship to set up little stalls for him, Asta, MC, and Peppy to run around to collect candy. He and Asta would probably have matching costumes like ketchup and mustard bottles or pb and j or something cute like that. Or it'd be a three-way deal since Asta would dress Peppy up in some cute little costume.
Arlan would definitely sit on the floor with Asta and MC and trade candies so they each get what they wanted. Asta would have some dog treats for Peppy so they weren't left out :)
At the night's end, Arlan would probably be caught falling asleep, still in costume with a half-eaten candy bar in hand.
Now, Bennett! (Genshin Impact)
He, Razor, Chongyun, and XIngqiu would get together and go out trick or treating. He tried to convince Fischl to go with, but she refused, claiming it was far too childish for someone of her status. That meant "Please bring me back some sweets".
He had a bag specifically for Fischl :)
As the night went on, the boys managed to have good luck. Bennett had never been happier since he was internally horrified of ruining the others' night by only getting raisins, toothbrushes, and apples or having someone's bag rip.
All went well and everyone got a pretty good amount of candy. Even Fischl.
Yap session is done! I kinda wanted to do DMCB stuff or Steven Universe stuff, but my creativity juice ran out. I hope y'all liked this one :D I'll probably do another one when it's actually October. (evaporates I FORGOT JJK oh well)
Have a great day, evening, and/or night everyone :DDDD

It was the glint of light in the middle of the overgrown field that caught Dream’s eye.
All that was out here was grass and corn that hadn’t been harvested in at least two seasons, tall and brown and escaping the rows that once were carefully tended. There shouldn’t be anything glass or metal or tall enough to reflect like that and at first Dream thought he must have imagined it. But then the corn and grass began to thin until he was in a small, round clearing.
In the middle was what looked like scrap metal at first. He pushed some of the tall grass out of the way to get a better look.
“What—?”
Dream wasn’t certain what exactly he had expected but a robot wasn’t one of those things, especially not one that was shaped like a pig.
It wasn’t in good condition either; the pink paint that had once coated it was faded and peeling in most places and there patches of rust here and there. It seemed to be missing an ear and had been relegated to scarecrow in a long forgotten field.
Dream could’ve left it there, hauling it all the way back home would be a pain in the ass, but there was something the goofy eye sockets and the one bent ear that made him decide that maybe it would be worth it.
“This is so dumb,” he muttered to himself and began loading the robot into his cart.
Leaning back on his stool, Dream wiped his hands off on the grease stained rag.
He had been working on repairing the robot for days. At first he had thought of it as a side project, not something he really cared about, but now it felt important to Dream to get him working.
The first thing he had done was take care of the rusting before moving on to the circuits and wires that connected the operating system. Dream could have replaced it completely, upgraded it, but then it wouldn’t be him anymore and Dream wanted to see whatever personality program this pig-shaped robot had.
The work was almost done. All that was left was to replace the old battery with a new one and switch him on. There was a nervous flutter in Dream’s chest as he flipped on the power. If it didn’t work, he would’ve spent all this time for nothing.
And there was nothing at first.
Dream frowned.
Then there was a mechanical whirl and a low tone from the robot as the eyes lit up.
“Bbbb… Bbbbruuuuuuhhhhh.”
Dream waved a hand in front of the large white and black eyes.
The lights blinked, mimicking the way someone would slowly blink their eyes.
“Can I help you?”
Long pauses came between each word, as if the voice box was warming up, and maybe Dream was reading too much into it but he also sounded slightly annoyed.
“Well, I mean, technically I’m helping you,” said Dream.
The robot made a noise that definitely sounded like dissent. Dream narrowed his eyes a little about to say something when he was cut off.
“Really?”
The sarcasm was clear.
“Yes, really,” he said, pushing some scraps aside with his foot. “You’re—You shouldn’t even be able to ask that, sarcasm isn’t in your programing.”
“And you know this how?”
There was a slight glitch to how the robot spoke, cutting in and out, but Dream got the message loud and clear. He rolled his eyes and tried to keep the smile off his face. It didn’t work.
“Okay, I don’t but—but to be fair, you shouldn’t be able to respond like that.”
The robot’s one ear moved slightly, metal scraping against metal.
“Are you sure?”
Robots didn’t blink and so Dream gave a huff of laughter and looked away.
“No, but—Okay, fine, apparently you’re programed for sarcasm.” Dream reached for the small can of oil and greased the hinges of the ear. “Do you do anything useful?”
A low humming sound filled the pause before the answer.
“I’m optimized for combat and farmin’ potatoes,” he said.
“What!? That’s bullshit, there’s no way you’re programmed for combat.” Dream paused, tilting his head and grinning a little as the robot mimicked him. “The potato thing I believe, though.”
The robot lifted his arms in an approximation of a shrug. Those hinges squeaked as well and Dream greased them without thinking.
“I don’t know what to tell you, man.” The voice box cut out for a moment. “That’s my function.”
“Okay, sure,” said Dream, deciding that if he argued, it wasn’t going to go his way, and switching tactics. “Do you have a name?”
This pause was longer than all the others.
“Technoblade.”
“Technoblade? What kind of name is that?”
The white and black eyes narrowed.
“What’s your name?” Technoblade asked.
“Dream.”
“Dream?” A beeping sound followed, small lights on the side of Technoblade’s head flashing briefly. “I don’t think you’re one to be talkin’ about names, Dream.”
The bark of laughter that escaped Dream was involuntary and he tried to stifle it.
“Oh my god! You’re so annoying.”
“That’s also my function.”
Dream rolled his eyes.
“Whatever, let me finish fixing you up,” he said.

taz november celebration fic four: prompt bakery au
sorry this is a day late but i'm also kind of not because of how long it is it evens out, i went with modern taakitz (feat. some other balance peeps) and may or may not have gotten a bit carried away, but i hope y'all enjoy the fluff! ~3.8k words @taznovembercelebration (in fact it's so long i will have to post in multiple parts oops)
Before the sun had even begun to dawn in the sky, Taako was starting all the different doughs and batters for the day and preheating the large double oven. He loved working in the early morning quiet and solitude, every measurement memorized and every movement second nature. His bakery was called Sweeten It Up with Taako, and it had become a popular fixture in the city. In the beginning, he just made things for his friends, then had a stand at the farmer's market, and finally saved enough to buy a brick and mortar shop. On either side was a dog training school and a combination plant/metaphysical/book store. A big buff guy with reddish hair and a beard named Magnus who was a bit younger than Taako ran the dog store, and a short, older white-haired gentleman with medium brown skin named Merle was the proprietor of…whatever the deal at his store was. Taako himself was tall and slim with long platinum blonde hair and sandy brown skin, he always thought the three of them must look straight out of a goofy buddy comedy on the days they took their lunch breaks together. They were pretty funny, and he didn't mind the company sometimes, but he was there to work and hone his craft, not make friends.
That morning, like every other, Taako made sure the display case was set up perfectly before flipping over the open sign. Croissants, muffins, éclairs, lemon bars, his signature elderflower macarons, and every other enticing treat imaginable were arranged in layers on cake stands and in trays. "Once again, perfect," he said to himself with a smile, now open for a day of business. The first customer to arrive, opening the door with a little jingle of the bell, was Lucretia, the curator of the city's art museum. She had dark skin, and her gray natural hair was cut very short. Even wearing just the museum uniform polo shirt, nametag, and khakis, she exuded a sense of elegance and grace. "Morning, Lucretia!" Taako greeted her cheerily. "Let me go grab your order, one sec," and he was gone before she could reply. She gasped when she saw the box of cutout cookies frosted to look like watercolor paintings. "Taako, these are gorgeous! I don't know if you can make it to the opening we're serving these at, but there's a ticket for the exhibit with your name on it at the front desk whenever you're free." Taako and Lucretia weren't necessarily close personal friends, but they talked a lot about art whenever they got the chance, and that can tell you a lot about someone. They thanked each other and he promised to be over soon. After Lucretia left, the rest of the morning passed normally, with a steady stream of business people, parents and children, and retired folks.
Around noon, though, a customer he had never seen before caught his eye as soon as he entered. He was a little shorter than Taako, dark-skinned with cool undertones, his locs up in a ponytail and wearing a long black coat. Taako was stunned, but he quickly blinked and snapped out of it. "What brings you in today?" he asked. "This is a bakery, yeah? Presumably I'm buying some of your baked goods," the stranger replied, with a twinkle in his eye. "Yes, yep, it definitely is!" Taako was not used to feeling flustered, let alone at work, where he was at charge and could do what he was best at. All of a sudden, it seemed much warmer, and he quickly freed his hair from the braid down his back and swept it up into a bun with a purple scrunchie. The stranger asked which muffin was best, paid in cash (and tipped!), and left, but waved as he turned to go at the door. Taako waved back dumbfoundedly, kicking himself for not having thought of anything witty to say as he watched the door close. What on earth was that, anyway? He saw plenty of hot guys every day, there was no reason to waste time thinking that this might be anything different. Still, his mind kept wandering back to the stranger the rest of the day.
After he locked up, he called Lup, and she picked up right away. "Hey, Taako! Are you off?" "Yep, just heading out. Your place or mine tonight? I will have you know I don't feel like cooking, so don't let that influence you." Lup laughed. "No worries, carryout is fine, but we're redoing the bathroom, so yours is probably better." "Got it, see you at 7." click Taako didn't want to cook?! There's another point for the list of reasons she'd been worrying about him lately. She sighed as she headed to her car from the studio, brushing dust and bits of dried clay from her hands and clothes as she went. Lup looked a lot like Taako, except her hair wasn't as long, and she dyed it starting at the top of her ears red, and then orange halfway down. She often wore it in two Dutch braids so it was neatly out of her face while she was working.
Taako was secretly disappointed he was hosting. He always felt bad that his apartment didn't live up to Barry and Lup's cozy little house that actually felt like a home. His apartment was just where he crashed when he wasn't at work, the only room with any effort actually put into it was the kitchen. Even though it had been a while now, it was still hard to get used to the idea that he wasn't going to have to leave soon. He loved that he and Lup and Barry regularly spent time together though, so it was worth it to have them over.
"Barry?" Lup called as soon as she walked in the front door. "One second, honey, let me just get off the ladder!" A pale chubby man with light brown hair and a beard wearing glasses and paint stained jeans and a tshirt emerged with his arms outstretched for a hug. As they embraced, Lup exclaimed, "You didn't need to work on the bathroom after school, care bear!" "I don't mind. Really anything quiet after the day I had with those middle schoolers is fine by me, and of course, they still don't even understand the weather cycle!" They laughed and headed to their room to get changed for Taako's. Barry pressed the buzzer in the lobby, the speaker crackled and then projected Taako's voice: "Welcome to Chez Taako, darlings, let yourselves in." His apartment was on the third floor so Barry and Lup took the stairs, opening the door to see Taako flopped on an armchair reading a book. He put iit down as soon as he heard the door and ran over to hug them.
"Ooh, whatcha reading?" asked Barry. "Some book Merle gave me, I don't really get what it's about. Most of the stuff at his shop is weird, but all the plants are somehow always in perfect condition." "That reminds me," said Lup, "I was going to ask if you wanted to invite Magnus and Merle to hang out with us sometime. They seem pretty cool, and we have more spots open in our video game tournaments." Taako bristled and glared at her. "Fuck no!" he snapped. "They're two guys that happen to work next to me that I eat lunch with sometimes. Hardly the same category as my sister and my brother in law, don't you think?" "Jesus, Taako, you could just say you don't want to, calm down." He collapsed onto the armchair again. "I'm sorry, Lulu. I guess I'm just a bit on edge."
Lup went to sit criss cross on the floor next to the chair, and Barry sat on the futon. "Why, what's up, bud?" she asked gently. "Why not?" He gave her a tired smile. "Shit, I was supposed to order food for us already, wasn't I? Sorry, guys." Barry stood up and grabbed his phone. "No worries, Taako," he reassured. "We all have those days, I'll do it. How's Chinese?" The twins nodded gratefully, as much as the three of them were a family and Barry and Lup were a couple, Barry was good at reading when they needed their own moments as well. "Hairbrush, Taako?" "Should be on the dresser."
Returning with it, Lup scooted Taako off the chair onto the floor right in front of it, and she sat in the chair, putting her legs around him. She silently began to brush his hair, and when it was perfectly soft and smooth, she braided it too. They had done this a million times, it almost always worked to help Taako relax. When Lup needed the same, her and Taako sat across from each other on the floor and held each other's hands, and he instinctively knew how much pressure he needed to squeeze with. But Lup was helping him right now, so he got up, still without a word, and sat on her lap. They held each other until Barry said the food was good to go and asked if they wanted to play Mario Kart. The rest of the evening passed like it always did: easy, comfortable, and filled with laughter. The next day at the bakery, the stranger returned, and did so for the rest of the week. He and Taako chatted every time; Taako learned that his name was Kravitz and he worked at some kind of therapy place nearby. On Friday, he slipped a business card in the paper bag, but it had his own phone number written on the back.
"Have a good weekend, Kravitz! Hopefully I'll see you again!" he called as his new favorite customer opened the door to leave. Kravitz smiled. "You too, Taako. I'm sure you will." As soon as he left, Taako ran into the freezer and screamed. "I'm sure you will"?! What did that mean? Was it good? He thought so, but he wasn't quite sure, and now he had all weekend to worry about it. Or not, honestly, this was ridiculous. He wasn't a middle schooler with a silly crush, he was just providing good service at his job and a new regular said he would be back, that was all it was. Definitely just that for sure. He took a deep breath, realized he was still in the freezer, and quickly left it to warm up and continue his day. When the bakery closed, Taako texted Lucretia: exhibit tonight? always more fun when you can show me around <3 We already have an event booked tonight :( Tomorrow at noon? sure thing, thx lucretia!
Well, that was something for tomorrow, but he was left with no plans for tonight. He thought back to what Lup said, maybe it would be a good idea to hang out with Magnus and Merle more. It wasn't like he had to tell them his life story, but the amount of time he spent alone probably wasn't great, as much as he liked to try and convince himself otherwise. Did he even have their numbers? That could be a goal for next week Taako, and apparently tonight Taako was going to get drunk alone. A classic Friday night activity. He just needed to get home and make it to tomorrow. You'd be surprised how hard that could be. However, to his surprise, after his first glass of wine, he got a text from an unknown number. It read: Do I have Taako? This is Kravitz "Holy shit, that actually worked," he thought. yep it's me ✨ You know you could have just asked for my number i figured a little surprise would be more fun! Taako couldn't believe this was happening, he pushed the bottle of wine aside and laid down on the futon. He definitely did not want to end up drunk texting right now. His instinct was to tell Lup right away, but he decided to wait and see where things went. You're right, I think you're very interesting, Taako um thanks?? Yes, it's a compliment, I don't get to choose who I talk to all day at my job, so I'm quite selective outside of it huh well that's something in common i don't talk to a lot of people either but idk if we're coming from the same place on that one…anyway what's your job like, what happens at a therapy place? Well, I'm actually specialized in grief counseling, so I help people through a lot of heavy stuff dude how do you deal with that i could never You just have to be able to leave work at work, it was hard at the beginning but I've had a lot of practice impressive that makes sense though you seem like a good listener hey i need to go make dinner ttyl? Yes, I'll be here, this was nice
Success!! Texting wasn't the same as real life interaction, but this was a good start for sure. Taako suddenly felt full of energy, he practically skipped around the kitchen getting everything out for beef stroganoff. In his apartment, several blocks away, Kravitz was in a similarly good mood. His roommate, Lucas, saw him looking down at his phone and smiling and asked, "Talking to someone, are we?" with a knowing smile. "None of your business," he retorted, and jokingly stuck his tongue out at him. Taako's text reminded him that he hadn't eaten yet either, but he honestly hadn't even been thinking of that. All day, as soon as he had seen the card left in his bag, he had just been waiting to be able to get home and send that first message. He was rarely so distracted, especially with his line of work, but there was just something about Taako that stuck in his mind and stayed there. His reverie was interrupted by Lucas's voice from the kitchen: "I made stuff for tacos, but if you don't get in here, there won't be any left!"
The next morning, Taako woke up excited to go see the exhibit with Lucretia. He had actually forgotten what it was even of, but that would just get to be a surprise! Once he had selected his museum outfit (a pastel pink fuzzy sweater with a long swishy pleated skirt in an eggplant color with heeled boots and several gold necklaces) and gotten dressed, he sent a picture to Lup, as they often did with their fashion choices. lulu, fit check! ooh love it 🤩 you're up early for your day off though what's up? museum with lucretia yay that's great! have fun tell her i said hi :3 "Taako, you look gorgeous!" exclaimed Lucretia when he arrived at the front desk. "And perfect timing, things aren't too busy yet. Let's go!" They strolled through the Georgia O'Keeffe exhibition, marveling at bones, flowers, and desert landscapes, all painted in bright colors and blue strokes. "Which one is your favorite, Lucretia?" "I like the bone paintings the best, I know the flowers are her most popular works, but I love how she also found beauty in the morbid and unconventional. Most people would consider an old bone too boring to even give it a chance as their subject. What about you?" Taako paused to think.
"Probably The Sky Above The Clouds. The different perspective is oddly peaceful." Lucretia nodded. "So much of her work has a sense of solitude, but not loneliness," she observed, and he knew what she meant, but not what the feeling was actually like. When they reached the end of the gallery, Lucretia had to go give a talk, but Taako had nothing else planned, so he wandered to the sculpture garden and sat at one of the small tables. He absentmindedly pulled out his phone to check his messages, and then decided to text Kravitz. hey handsome are you free at all today? Ten or fifteen minutes later, a reply came. Oh, handsome? Thank you very much, and I'm going to a concert later tonight if you want to come? yeah i'm down! who is it? My friend Johann's band, they're called Voidfish and he's the violinist oh, i've never heard of them but that sounds cool Kravitz sent him a location and time to meet, and he figured this was probably enough to tell Lup about now.
luuuppp guess whatttt what taako? i think i'm going on a date? i'm not sure if it's a date but this guy i've been talking to invited me to a concert tonight! omg! you didn't even tell me you were interested in someone, rude, but i'm so happy for you 🩷 hey now! i was waiting to see where it went and it still might not be anything that's true, but taako, you deserve to have fun with someone you like, it's been a long time, so try to just stay in the moment and take it as it comes, okay? what are you lulu, our mom? oh wait lmao haha very funny, seriously though i'll try, love you love you Not sure what to do with the rest of his time before meeting for the concert, Taako took the long way back to his apartment, enjoying the feel of the air and taking in his surroundings in a way he never really had before. When he got back, he decided to take a nap so he would be ready for the potential late night out.
At his apartment, Kravitz was also carefully selecting his outfit for the evening. He wore the same thing to work every day: black pants, a white button down, and a red tie, so he never had to worry about it getting ready in the mornings, but this was a weekend and a special occasion at that. He settled on a band shirt Johann had given him at the last concert and his dark blue denim jacket covered in a large collection of raven patches and pins. The dark and eerie birds had always fascinated him. Sitting on his bed, Kravitz took a deep breath. Normally, he wouldn't make plans like this so spontaneously, but there was something about Taako that oddly put him more at ease. It was certainly a new and strange feeling, but not an unwelcome one. He quickly texted Lucas saying that he would probably be out late, and headed for Bumbershoots to meet Taako. Since Kravitz lived closer, he arrived first, but he only had to wait about five minutes for his companion.
"Hey, Kravitz!" Taako called. "You look stunning!" "I could say the same for you," Kravitz replied as he took Taako's hand and they entered the bar together. Voidfish played a great show, and Johann was amazing on the violin, but the baker and the therapist spent most of the evening simply focused on each other. They sat at a table in the back drinking cocktails (old fashioned for Kravitz, blackberry bramble for Taako) and talking for the whole show. Kravitz told Taako the names of the different songs as they were played, and Taako critiqued the band's outfits like he was a famous fashion designer, which made Kravitz laugh more than he had in a while. When the show ended, they paused outside the building, unsure what to say and neither one wanting to leave. Taako looked at Kravitz and asked, "Was this a date?" "I think so," Kravitz smiled as he replied. They both started laughing and pulled each other into a hug. As he continued to visit Taako at the bakery, Kravitz started to find extra items in his bag, usually new recipes being tested out. No matter how wild something sounded, it always ended up being delicious. He recommended Sweeten It Up with Taako to all his clients and Coworkers. One Friday afternoon, he got an unusual text from Taako.
hey krav, do you want to come over? my place is nothing much, so don't get your hopes up, but i'd love to have you It would be my pleasure, Taako, and don't worry about any of it okay? Taako sighed with relief. He still hadn't had anyone but Barry and Lup over to this apartment, but this could be the chance to make what he really wanted of it. Some of the decorations from his last place were still in a box, and he decided to get them back out; stringing the fairy lights up around the living room, hanging the pride flag on the wall, and putting the vase of fake flowers on the coffee table. It almost looked like someone lived here now, and like someone else would want to visit. He smiled and went to the kitchen to start getting dinner ready. When Kravitz arrived, he brought a fancy bottle of champagne with him, which he offered to Taako upon opening the door. "Kravitz! You didn't have to do that! This stuff is really nice too, oh my gosh…but since we have it, I think it'll go perfect with dinner. Since I forgot to ask what you wanted, I hope pizza is good." "That's excellent, yes." They had a delicious meal of Taako's signature homemade pizza, including dough made by hand (of course) and fresh mozzarella cheese, and glasses of sweet, refreshing champagne. Afterwards, they watched some terrible movie that was on TV, cuddling and making fun of it the entire time. As the credits finally rolled and Taako reached for the remote, Kravitz stopped him, taking both of his hands and staring into his warm brown eyes. "Can I kiss you?" he asked in a low voice, serious and sincere. "Yeah," Taako whispered without hesitation, surprising himself. The kiss was perfect, tender yet intense, warm and hungry. It wasn't just one either, they pulled away, smiled at each other and agreed with just their eyes, and then they were making out the best either of them had ever experienced. Being in one another's arms and pressed into each other's bodies was such a comfort that it more than made up for the old futon they were on. For a moment, there were no clients or macarons or roommates or sisters or anything else in the world but Kravitz and Taako and their hearts and bodies. Finally, Taako rested his head on Kravitz's shoulder, lazily looking up in his direction. "So, are you my boyfriend now or what?" Kravitz just smiled and pulled him in for another kiss, and they both understood that meaning perfectly.

“Nice to finally meet you.” The average-height (big day for short people!), Gotoroan stranger smiles warmly, reaching to shake my hand.
“Finally?” I take his hand in mine, but rather than looking at him I turn to Seb and grin. A big, goofy, punchable grin.
He rolls his eyes. “I might’ve mentioned you once or twice.”
“All good things,” Victor reassures.
I look back at him with a playful glare in my eyes. I don’t know him well enough to be an ass yet, but it’s tempting to challenge him. Interrogate him, even.
As we walk back down the hill from the train station, I’m sandwiched between the two men, but keep closer to Seb for comfort. I’d hoped he fucked the nerves out of me, but nope! They’re still there! Still just as bad with strangers as always.
While they catch up with each other, I take in the pretty surroundings, my eyes lingering on Linus. He’s sat by a small campfire outside of his tent, munching on a fish that he must’ve caught and baked over the open flame himself.
I’ve been meaning to try and talk to him, as he seems nicer than the townsfolk make him out to be, but never have the courage or the time to follow through. Maybe if I can get him alone sometime — the less people around, the better, when it comes to my social abilities — I’ll have the guts to strike up a conversation. That’s an endeavor for another day.
When we arrive back to the basement, I shuffle through my bag for the character sheets I brought along. Thankfully, they didn’t get crumpled when I abandoned them for… a more noble cause.
“What class do you want?” Seb me asks from across the room, unfolding the playing mat.
“Whatever’s available, I ain’t picky. I just can’t DM.”
“I’ve got that covered,” Victor adds.
“You usually go warrior, yeah?” Seb asks him. I’m assuming he answered with a nod, because I don’t hear a verbal follow up. “That leaves us with wizard and healer.”
“Fine, dibs on healer then.”
I don’t bother bringing the other sheets to the table, wanting to save as much judgment as possible. I skulk over, holding the paper against me like a fucking gremlin bracing onto its treasure. I’m a little worried about this, and not just because my design is corny — think: magical girl, but with a cloak on — but rather because I’ve never done a campaign in-person before. Usually they’ve been with randos on the internet. No pressure to perform with people I’ll never meet.
Victor had a figure made of his character apparently, which I enviously eyeball while Seb flips through a lined notebook for his own. I know this guy is rich but I can’t help but imagine that lil’ model costing a fortune if he commissioned it. Or maybe he made it himself?
A quiet lil “ah” sounds from across the table as Seb settles on the page he wants. Maybe it was dumb to feel embarrassed about my own OC. He just has a… collage, we’ll call it, of a generic anime guy wearing various wizard-y garments, pointy hat and all. A real Hogwarts!AU Ravenclaw!Sasuke looking motherfucker. It is truly so poorly photoshopped, and appears to be taped into place next to the (surprisingly) neatly-written stats.
I stifle a laugh, which only goes noticed by Seb, who sneers at me beneath his hair. Modern!AU Sasuke looking motherfucker…
“Ready?”
Seb and I look to the source and nod, and Victor dives right into our plot, scattering some small plastic props across the board to set the scene.
The game lasts a short few hours, and goes a lot more smoothly than I’d anticipated. Once I got into the swing of things, and rolled a few lucky 20s, I felt more comfortable with myself and my character. The three of us absolutely crushed it, too.
Victor and Seb were both downed during our final boss, and because of a pretty mediocre roll, I was only able to resurrect one. I asked them to roll for the opportunity, not really knowing who the better option of the two was – leaving up to fate, if you will. Much to Victor’s chagrin, Seb rolled higher. We won even without Victor, though, and with a good rating.
It helped that the story was influenced heavily by a mish-mosh of The Legend of Lonk plot lines. Made things easier for me to follow, and helped me know what to expect from the mobs that weren’t canon to Solarian Chronicles. I noticed it during our game, but kept quiet, not wanting to mess with the flow. Victor admitted he took some creative inspiration after we wrapped up.
“Fucking nerd,” Seb muses.
“They’re good games!”
“No, yeah, I agree,” I nod in Victor’s defense. “Lonk is a fucking masterpiece of a series.”
Seb groans while Victor excitedly asks, “Oh, you play too?!” I nod. “Which game is your favorite?” Yeees, ask me more about my hyperfixations!
“Air of the Wild, for sure.”
“That one’s so good, maybe second or third in my books. I’m personally more into Skyward Spear myself.”
“God damnit,” Seb mumbles to himself. Victor and I both ignore him.
“Did you hear they’re remaking it?”
Victor beams. “Seriously?!”
“Yeah! It might push Air of the Wild 2 back a year or, like, three , which sucks, but it should be out by Winter Star. At least, that’s what I’ve read.”
“Are they only improving the graphics, though? Or is it a full, mechanics-based remaster?”
“I dunno, I think they’re just —“
“I’m gonna order some food,” Seb quietly declares, opening up a delivery app on his phone. He saunters across the room to his bong and starts, I dunno, setting it up? I’ve never Done The Weed, I have no idea what he’s doing with that thing.
“You’re not going to offer us anything?” Victor pouts.
“Oh, now you want to pay attention to me?”
I laugh, “Are you grumpy that we’re bonding without you?”
He sits back in his stool and glares at me while taking a hit. “‘Course not.”
“Fucking tsundere.”
Victor starts making grabby hands at the bong, and Sebastian reluctantly passes it over. Coughing through his words after a long rip, he asks, “Wanna get that greasy stuff you Ferngillians try to pass off as Gotoroan food?”
Seb shrugs, crinkling his nose slightly. “I was feeling pizza.”
They both turn to me, expecting me to make the decision. “Fuck. Uhh. Gotoroan sounds good.” I give Seb an apologetic shrug.
_______
Victor fell asleep on the couch promptly after downing a full carton of fried rice, because munchies I guess? I dunno. I was having fun getting to know him, but semi-private time with Seb is nice. Super welcomed, honestly. My social battery was starting to feel drained, and Sebastian knows how to charge that shit right back up somehow.
We’re leaning on each other on his bed, with our backs against the wall, and watching those stupid, quick recipe/craft videos. You know, like on Buzzfeed and whatever. Stuffing the last piece of the communal veggie tempura roll into my mouth, I can’t help but choke on a little giggle, directed at how much Seb has been giggling. This man is delightful when he’s high.
“It’s funny because it’s stupid!” he strongly defends.
“I didn’t even say anything!”
“You thought about it.”
He’s right. “You know you would fully hate this if you were sober,” I point out.
“‘You know you would fully hate this if you were sober.’” So high-pitched… Yoba, do I really sound that annoying to him?
“Mock me all you want, you know it’s true!”
He scoffs, “Fuck yourself.”
“I’d rather you do it for me,” I quip back half-jokingly.
He doesn’t respond for a few long seconds, seemingly zoning out on my screen as he tries to buffer what I said. Seb finally finds my eyes and sweet mother of god he looks like he wants to ravage me.
“You wanna?” he offers, his voice quiet and husky.
Tempting, but—
“Bro, Victor’s right there, why the fuck would I wanna?”
“Bro, the bathroom is right there,” he suggests, gesturing towards the door to our left.
A fair point. I can’t tear my eyes from his stare, god he’s so fucking hot. My horny goblin brain is urging me to accept, but I dunno, it would be a little weird with someone right beside us… only separated by a few-seconds walk to the door… would it?
As if he saw the gears turning in my head, Seb decides for me. He scoops me up over his shoulder like I weigh nothing and carries me into the washroom.
“Is this necessary?” I grumble into his shoulder blade. I could’ve walked myself in here but I can’t even be mad.
After taking care to shut and lock the door quietly, he settles me down, placing a towel on the counter for cushioning purposes before pushing my back against it. I can feel the slight flush of being upside down for a little bit removing itself from my face.
Well, that, and I’m probably just rosy from being, like… tossed around.
“Yes,” he softly asserts. “Unless you don’t like being handled like that.”
“I don’t not like it,” I confess.
The corner of his mouth curls up at my reply, and he takes my cheeks between his hands, kissing my forehead. Aww.
I get on my tippy toes, and right before I can reach my lips up to his, he flips me around and leans over my form, forcing me to bend over the sink, just inches from my reflection. I shoulda known better than to trust so easily. His hands are firmly on top of mine, as if he’s worried I’ll leave. He probably doesn’t realize I wouldn’t give this up for anything.
With my ass pressed to Seb’s groin, I can feel how stiff he is. I tantalizingly sway my hips a little, eyeing him through the mirror. He sucks in his lower lip and fights back, his grip on my hands tightening as he lightly thrusts onto the back of my skirt, hiking it up a little in the process. Shit. Well played, nerd. I fight back, pressing my booty towards him just a little.
He puts more weight on me, winding the breath from my lungs a little. But it’s fine, because he’s using the closer contact to nibble my neck, and holy shit this is making me feel tingly. His bluntly pointed canines piercing into my skin, just enough to not draw blood, send goosebumps across my body.
Hm, I kind of wish there was blood…?
Fuck it, vampire kink.
“S’that all you’ve got, emo boy?” I heckle.
The reflection of his dark eyes stab mine while I fiendishly grin at him. Without saying a word, he lowers his face back down.
After gently licking and kissing the area, he bites again, in the same spot, hard. No blood, but I still wince, like, in a good way. A weird half-gasp, half-moan comes out at the feeling. I repeat the noise as he leans back, takes a fistful of my hair, and tugs it towards him like reins. While this is going on he cups his hand over my mouth.
“Careful, (y/l/n),” he growls into my ear, “Unless you want Vic to hear you…”
I shake my head “no”, knowing damn well I look like a wreck. I love foreplay, but good lord I just want him to fuck me up already.
“If I move my hand, can you stay quiet for me?”
I nod again, pleading with my eyes.
Seb slowly lifts his palm from my mouth as if he’s diffusing a bomb, claiming his other hand back as well. He begins removing his jeans — a sound I'm now happily familiar with — followed by his boxers. I reach back, desperate to feel him, but he bats my hand away. Lame .
I turn away from his reflection to look at him directly, glaring as I shimmy my skirt off. Glowering back down at me with somewhat of a carnal look in his bloodshot eyes, he spits into his hand – I’m assuming it’s for lubricative purposes.
I accidentally let out a blissful hum just because of how lewd that looked, and face forward again, but not before receiving a hard slap to my ass. He shoots me a wink too. Cheeky bastard. I bite my lip to hold back another noise and push my underwear to the side. I’m way too eager for him to be inside me.
Seb smacks my ass again, catching me off guard and forcing out an airy, almost squeaky moan. I probably have fucking hearts in my eyes at this point, I think to myself, gazing up to his reflection. If this is my punishment, keep it coming, baby.
“Off completely.”
Staying bent over the counter, I slink the fabric down my hips, letting them fall once they’re past my mid-thigh. The moment they had gotten beneath my ass, Seb firmly groped my left cheek with his respective hand, stroking himself in preparation with his right.
He teases my entrance — pushing his head in enough for me to shiver with pleasure, but retracting it rather than going deeper.
Seb does this a few times, coating me with enough impatience, frustration, and primal need that I didn’t notice myself digging my nails into my palms. I see Seb lock onto the crescents on my skin, and he directs both of my arms behind my back.
Folding my forearms over one another, he locks his hands into mine. This is almost romantic.
“Just squeeze my hands,” he offers into my ear. “Don’t hurt yourself, darling.”
I tilt my head to face him, sneaking a kiss before mumbling a dreamy “Okay.”
Ok, fuck, it is romantic.
Lost in thought and not entirely noticing that his cock was still up against my entrance, he takes me by surprise when he slips in. No hands needed, huh? Am I that wet?
“That wet for me?” he grins, more than satisfied with himself. Fucking telepath.
“Shut up,” I whimper, my grip on his hands tightening.
He slams into me, a loud smack filling the room. I gasp, do my fucking best to keep quiet by promptly sucking in my lips.
“Make me.” He punctuates his demand with another smack of his hips against my backside. I never thought it would be so hard to not make sex noises.
“Oh, whoops,” he evilly chuckles, “Guess you can’t.” He wiggles my hands around behind me in the same way people make small animals “dance” by moving their lil’ baby paws around.
I defiantly shove myself back, knowing it won’t shut him up, but that it’ll definitely convey the message I’m trying to send: You’re a dick.
Seb lets go of one of my hands, takes both of my wrists in one of his fists, and he pulls, arching my back to meet his chest again. He firmly wraps his fingers around my throat — as he puts pressure onto those convenient arteries that’ll make me see stars, he tugs my face back far enough for me to see his.
A strangled moan escapes me as he starts moving again, still slowly, but with more precision and depth this time around. I try to kiss him, but the hand on my neck is firmly keeping me in place. His eyes are boring into mine like moths drawn to a flame, and he’s smiling madly. For fuck’s sake, the control he has over me is turning me on so much.
“Seb, please, I need more,” I struggle to plead out, blatantly due to his grip on me. “Fuck me.”
“Hmm, should I?” he sadistically wonders aloud. He speeds up just a little, and I can’t help the noises that escape me. “You might have to try harder than that.”
“Mmn, please, dude.”
He takes his hand off of my throat to brush away tears that I didn’t realize were rolling out of my eyes.
“Oh, you poor thing,” he notes, rubbing his thumb across my cheek. There isn’t even a tiny smidge of real pity in his voice. It’s purely for his entertainment. Curling his fingers around my chin, he keeps torturing me. “But… ‘please’? That’s all you’ve got?”
Yearning for comfort, I bury my face into his neck to absorb the sound of my fucking agony while I let out a groan and hope he gives me what I want. Preferably soon.
“Sebastian, please,” I beg. “Just blow my back out, fucker,” I add on, the words coming out as a stupid, whiney, frustrated moan more than a command.
Seb looks satisfied – proud of me, even – as he stops thrusting.
He grins and tugs me by the chin to finally give the sloppy, passionate kiss I was yearning for when I was first pulled back like this, and then pushes my face down towards the towel. Before I know it, he’s annihilating my cunt. His hand’s on the back of my neck and holding me firmly in place. I’m totally at his will. There’s no way on god’s green earth that I’m going to be able to keep my mouth shut.
I yoink one of my hands free so I can ball up some of the towel in front of me. I need to use it to muffle the yelps that are escaping my throat.
“Holy fucking shit, Sebastian~,” I yell into the towel.
“You want me to be this rough, babe?” I can’t tell if he’s talking dirty, or if the question is genuine. I can’t see enough of his face to determine it, either — the tears that were once trickling down from desperation are now replaced by those of pleasure.
I lean up enough so he can hear me clearly, and lay my cheek on the towel that’s now damp from my saliva. Gross.
“ Yes, oh my god yes.”
“You want more?”
I nod, desperately. “Please~”
Seb laughs sadistically, “‘Course you do… such a perfect little slut.” The insult, or term of endearment, or whatever the fuck that was supposed to be sends a chill across my skin. My boyfriend speeds up in the meantime, not sacrificing force by any means. “Shit, you feel incredible.”
Oh my god. With a death-grip on the towel, I break the other hand free from Seb’s clutch. Urgently needing to feel more, I snake my hand down to my clit. It’s not that Sebastian isn’t enough, but more that I’m feeling so much at once. This feels like the final piece to the puzzle, or whatever .
“Seb, harder.”
Moaning lowly, he firmly digs his hands into my sides, his hips moving more erratically with time. My head feels foggy with bliss, but I match my hand and my own hips to his pace the best I can.
Completely overwhelmed, my body doesn’t even give me a fair warning before I cum.
“Oh shit,” I laugh, sounding absolutely insane from the overstimulation. High off of it, even. “Holy fucking shit, I’m cumming Sebby~” I didn’t mean to call him that. But I think it flew right over his head anyway.
Seb leans over, his tall frame towering over mine, leaning his face into my hair. He mutters onto my scalp, peppering it with kisses here and there. “So good, love, you’re doing so fucking good .”
I use both hands to lean up from my folded position, to help give him some more leverage, and our eyes meet through the mirror as we moan together. My arms and legs are shaking. It’s taking every muscle in my body to stay on my feet.
“Pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease,” I whisper with each swift thrust. I don’t even know what the fuck it is I’m begging for, but Seb seems to.
He wraps around my torso, sneaks under my shirt, and grips the everliving shit out of my boob. A stress ball, of sorts. Seb then reaches his other hand around, effectively locking me in place, and strums my clit for me. I welcome the overstimulation with a heady mewl, making my partner smile down at my reflection.
Placing one small hand atop the larger one covering my tit, I wrap my other arm behind myself to pull him down, mumbling frantic curses into his mouth while I attempt to kiss his stupid perfect lips. Our sweaty foreheads are plastered to each other as he wrings another orgasm out of me in record time.
“Fuck,” I practically weep, “You’re so goddamn good oh my fucking god!”
He laughs, his voice lilting with pleasure. “Thaaat’s it baby, cum all over my cock.” Holy shit . “You feel so perfect, cumming around me with that tight little pussy of yours.” Holy shit holy fucking shit he is so hot.
Just when I’m starting to feel weak and eased from my comedown, Seb asks, “Fuck, where do you want me?”
What a gentleman, waiting for me to cum for the upteenth time today before doing so only his second. I owe him.
“Inside me,” I basically plead, hazy stars coating my vision while he continues stuffing me. “Please, I’m on the pill, please just don’t fucking stop.” I might snap again holy shit, is this guy actually a fucking wizard? I’ve never even managed to get myself off this many times in one session.
His dazed eyes scan mine, “You sure?”
I nod, “Please, I need your cum Seb.” A bit dramatic, but it feels like the truth at this moment.
He dips down to kiss me but winds up moaning, loudly , right into my mouth instead. He lets out a delicious, breathy laugh, and groans, “Fuck, I love you so much holy shit.” WHAT? “Mmmfuck~”
Shocked and full of butterflies, an unfortunate squeak makes its way past my lips — and we were doing so well today! A fog seizes my vision, while the combination of his confession and his throbbing length in me send me to the moon and back. This is some sort of fairytale shit.
Our heavy breaths echo throughout the room as he pulses through both our orgasms. I fumble my back onto the sink for support afterwards, quickly wiping myself down before shakily pulling my skirt and panties back up.
My eyes are glued to Sebastian’s, mesmerized. Inspecting him, I’m trying to decipher if he meant what he’d said, or if it was just his horny gremlin brain talking.
He’s normally so… cool. Sweetest guy ever, but still your typical edgelord bad boy. Definitely doesn’t read as the type who would spill his deepest feelings while fucking someone’s brains out.
He stares back, not much of an expression other than wide eyes on his face. “Fuck.”
“Sebastian,” I sing, raising a brow. Yoba, I can’t stop smiling.
“I didn’t mean for it to happen like that, I just got lost in the moment, it just like—,” he grunts, leaning his arms over the counter, placing his head atop mine. Locking me in yet again. He shouts “Fuck!” into my hair.
“Seb…”
He backs up, hands on his face as he paces in what little space we have here. Before turning towards me again, he pulls his pants up. Thank god . It was getting hard not to let out an inappropriate giggle at a man free-balling a nervous breakdown.
“I’m so sorry (y/n) that was so stupid. That is not how I wanted to—“
“Sebastian.” I walk up to him and take his cheeks in my hands, forcing him to look down at me. “Did you mean it?”
He takes a minute, scanning my face, and eventually nods apprehensively. “Yeah,” he whispers.

Julie and the Phantoms AU
What's going on y'all I've been enabled so now y'all get some half-baked angst!
Huge thanks to @we-are-inevitable for helping me finish this AU because it's been sitting on the back burner for literal months and I could never figure out all the details on my own.
CW: death, homophobia, terminal illness, emotional abuse
Okay, so! Here's the characters we're working with (they're not perfect stand-ins, this is just the general role they'll be fulfilling in the story)
Jack Kelly - Julie Molina
Racetrack Higgins - Rose Molina (he's Jack's younger brother tho)
Charlie Morris- Carlos Molina
Medda Larkin - Ray Molina
Spot Conlon - Flynn Taylor
David Jacobs - Luke Patterson
Sarah Jacobs - Alex Mercer
Albert DaSilva - Reggie Peters
Katherine Pulitzer - Willie
Joseph Pulitzer - Caleb Covington
Bryan Denton - Tia Victoria
Don't ask about Nick and Carrie, we don't talk about them, they've caused me so many problems in this AU. There's a version floating around in my brain with Spot and Race as Nick and Carrie. I've been through some things.
ANYWHO I have no idea how to structure this post because there is so much going on so we're just gonna start and hope for the best. I think we'll go by character and talk about where each of them is at the beginning of the story because I don't 100% know how everything fits together yet. Fingers crossed that this is somewhat comprehensible.
(Also, in case you haven't watched the show, Luke, Reggie, and Alex are all members of the band Sunset Curve, who died in 1995 before manifesting as ghosts in 2020. So when I'm talking about David, Sarah, Albert, and Les, their backstories take place in 1995)
Jack Kelly
Jack loves music, it’s basically his entire life. He spends all his free time out in the garage writing and playing songs with his little brother, Race. They would always talk about making it big one day and becoming a famous singing duo. But really what Jack loved was being able to share something special with his brother. He never felt closer to Race than when they were making music together. The two of them would sit side-by-side at the piano with their youngest brother, Charlie, and their adoptive mother, Medda, listening to them play and joining in when they knew the words. Those impromptu little concerts with the three people he loved most in the world were some of the happiest memories of Jack’s life.
Then Race got sick. Then Jack had to watch his fun-loving, goofy, energetic little brother waste away in a hospital bed so quickly it made Jack’s head spin. Then Jack was left with a garage full of instruments he couldn’t bear to play and half-written songs he didn't know how to finish.
He's still close with his mom and Charlie, but there's been a... shift... in the air around the house. He's written some short poems, but nothing substantial, nothing like what he used to write with Race. Jack doesn't play the piano anymore. He doesn't sing in the car or the kitchen like he used to. He hasn't even so much as hummed since Race died. He can't. Every time he even considers making music all he can think about is Race using what little strength he had left to ask Jack to sing for him one last time. All he can see is his little brother taking his last breaths as Jack sang him a soft, desperate plea. ("You'll never know, dear, how much I love you. Oh, please don't take my sunshine away")
Jack doesn't want to sing anymore. He can't sing anymore. So he doesn't. He tries to pretend that he doesn't need music anymore and just goes on with his life as best he can. He cheers at Charlie's Buddy Ball games and helps his Ma cook dinner every night and bothers his Uncle Denton at work and laughs with his best friend, Spot, and does everything he can to ignore the gaping hole in his heart.
He doesn't need music. Not really. He doesn't even want to make music without Race there to do it with him.
Jack Kelly does not need music.
He doesn't.
Don't ask why he still signs up to be in the music program the next school year. Don't ask why he can't bear to sell his keyboard like he told Medda he was planning to. Don't ask why he's so so disappointed in himself when he can't bring himself to just play when he's told he has one last chance to participate in music class before he gets kicked out.
It doesn't matter.
David Jacobs
David loves music, it’s basically his entire life. He loves singing, he loves playing guitar, he loves writing songs, he loves everything about it. He lives and breathes music, he doesn't want to do anything with his life other than make music to share with the world. That's the whole problem.
His parents have always told him he has great "potential". That he's smart enough to get into the top universities in the country and to get a full-ride basically anywhere. All he has to do is focus on his studies and fill out his resume with extracurriculars and work experience. Apparently, spending every waking hour of the day writing songs and rehearsing with his band doesn't count as "extracurriculars" to them.
He knows they just want what's best for him, he knows they just want him to get into a good college and get a good job one day. He knows that. But he just wishes they would understand that music is what he's passionate about, it's what he loves, and it's the only thing that makes him feel truly alive. David knows he's smart, he knows he could probably go to some big-shot college and become a lawyer or a doctor or something but he doesn't want to. He wants to write songs and share them with the world. He wants to do something actually meaningful with his life.
It's... tense... at home, to say the least. His parents get mad every time he brings home any grade less than an A, which is becoming increasingly more common as Sunset Curve, the band Davey started with his twin sister, Sarah, and their two best friends, Albert and Bobby, has started gaining some real traction in Hollywood. (I think Bobby is still Bobby, it doesn't really change anything about the story so he might morph into one of the Delanceys at some point, I dunno) His mom keeps signing him up for after-school activities against his wishes and then gets upset when he blows off the meetings to rehearse with the band. His dad keeps trying to get him a job at the company he works for but Davey never sticks around long enough for him to set up an interview. He manages to pacify them a bit by volunteering as an assistant coach for his little brother, Les's, little league team, but it barely helps.
The last straw for David is the day his sister, Little Miss Perfect Sarah, who had always followed every single outrageous rule and expectation his parents gave her, manages to work up the courage to come out to their parents and they act like she just confessed to a murder. There's a lot of yelling and, for the first time in his life, David worries that his mother might hit Sarah, she looks so angry. His sister leaves the house with tears streaming down her face and David moves to follow her before realizing he would be leaving Les alone with his parents looking absolutely murderous. He doesn't think they would actually hurt Les, but he's not taking any chances.
As David sits in bed with his little brother curled up at his side and trying to block out the sound of his parents fighting with each other over whose "fault" this was, David finally accepts what he's always tried to deny.
His parents would never truly accept him. He'd always wondered if he just did what they wanted, if he just worked hard to keep his grade up and joined all the clubs they wanted and got into a good college and got a good job that they would be proud of him. He had convinced himself that they would, that he was choosing their disappointment by pursuing a career in music.
But now he knew better. If they could manage to go from looking at his sister as if she'd hung the stars in the sky to borderline disowning her in a split second, they could never truly love him. Their love was and always had been conditional, and David had no intentions of fulfilling those conditions just to be accepted by the people who had never even tried to understand him.
Sarah came back after spending a couple nights at the studio (aka, Bobby's garage) but it didn't change David's mind. His mother kept insulting Sarah every chance she got and his father wouldn't even look at her. The twins spent a lot of time writing songs together at the studio, avoiding their parents together. Sarah insists that she's okay, that she had expected their parents to react the way they did and she just wanted to wait out the storm until they hopefully came around. David sees straight through her lie but doesn't comment on it.
David isn't sure what does it. But one day he's finally had enough. He comes home with yet another B- on an English paper and endures the lecture from his father and the screaming from his mother with a blank stare and no emotion in his heart other than mild disgust. Then he goes to his room, packs as much as he can into a duffle bag, and heads straight to Sarah's room. She knows exactly what he's doing without a single word exchanged between them.
"So that's it, huh?" "Come with me." "Davey, I can't" "Sarah, they're never going to change! Never. I know you want to fix things with them but there's nothing to fix. They never loved us. Not really. Not in the way you want them to." "Don't you think I know that? I'm not stupid, Davey, I know this isn't the way things are supposed to be but it's the way things are. And I- I know it's pathetic but I want them to love me. I want my parents back. So... so I have to try, Davey, just let me try." "...Fine. You know where to find me once you've had enough of their bullshit." "What should I tell Les?" "I- I'll figure that out later. I'll skip class and catch him at school before he gets on the bus and say goodbye then. I just. I can't stay here another second."
So Davey leaves and hides out at the studio. He never manages to catch Les in time to talk to him but Sarah tells him plenty of stories about what's going on at home. It took his parents three days to realize he was gone. They weren't happy. Davey couldn't care less about their happiness.
His parents don't even try to get him to come home, which just reinforces Davey's certainty that he did the right thing. According to Sarah, they're "waiting him out", expecting him to come running back to them within a week.
Davey never sees his parents again.
He's not particularly bothered.
Davey spends all of his time writing songs about anything and everything. Some of it meaningless, most of it not. He's never been that great at talking to people, so he pours every pent-up emotion he's been feeling for years into his songs. His anger towards his parents, his pleas to his sister, his regrets about his brother, his desperation to make something of himself. He writes about all of it. Some of the songs make it onto Sunset Curve's setlist, but most of them stay in his song journal.
His grades don't get any better or worse, but Sunset Curve gets big. Or, at least, big for a garage band of self-taught high schoolers with about $12 between the four of them. They start booking bigger and bigger gigs and they even manage to pull some favors and scrape together enough cash to self-record an EP.
Then their big break comes. A featured show at the Orpheum! It's everything Davey and his friends have been working towards for years. It's their chance to make it big, for real. Davey thinks about inviting his parents so they can see that he wasn't delusional, that his dreams weren't just stupid fantasies. But he talks himself out of it almost instantly. He doesn't need to prove anything to them. He doesn't want to prove anything to them. They already showed him their true colors and Davey didn't regret his choices.
The only thing he regrets is that he had to leave Les. His little brother didn't do anything wrong and he was one of the only good things about living in that house. He misses Les every single day and considers going back just for him. Sarah tells him that Les didn't handle his running away well and she can only do so much for him. Their parents haven't been taking out their anger on Les, that's the only thing giving David enough strength to stay away.
He knows it's for the best, he genuinely would have lost his mind if he had to stay in that house any longer. That doesn't make him feel any better.
His songs about Les stay private.
Sarah Jacobs
Sarah likes music. She likes her drums, even if her mother would prefer for her to spend more time practicing piano. She likes helping her brother write songs for their band and goofing off with her friends in the studio. But what she really loves is performing. There's just something about being on a stage in front of a crowd of people, buzzing with energy and knowing that she's about to blow them all away. It makes her feel absolutely electric and leaves no doubt in her mind that this is what she wants to do with the rest of her life.
If only she could muster up the courage to tell her parents that.
She admired Davey for how little he managed to care about what their parents thought. Maybe he just had a passion for music that Sarah lacked. Maybe there was more pressure on him to succeed, therefore it was easier for him to disappoint, and therefore it was easier for him to stop caring in the first place. Maybe she was just a coward.
As much as she knew that it shouldn't matter what her parents thought, as much as she knew she would be better off taking a page out of her brother's book and just doing what made her happy, as much as she knew she had what it took to succeed in music, Sarah wanted nothing more than for her parents to be proud of her. And that meant keeping her grades above a B, staying in ballet classes, going to a good college, and getting a "real" job.
Sarah hated herself for how well she played the role of Perfect Daughter. She hated how easily she slipped into the pleasant, kind, soft-spoken little girl her parents had raised her to be. She hated how she kept her head down whenever her parents ripped into David for whatever way he'd managed to disappoint them this time. She hated how no one knew who she really was, not even herself.
She wanted to be able to listen to the kind of music she liked and not be scolded for it. She wanted to wear clothes that felt like her and not like she was dressing up in a costume as someone else. She wanted to do and love and enjoy the things that she wanted to do and love and enjoy. She so was sick of pretending to be someone she wasn't. She wanted it to stop. Sarah Jacobs wanted to be herself more than anything else in the world.
Maybe that's why she did it.
Maybe that's why she had looked her mother in the eye and managed to gather up enough courage to be honest with herself for once in her life.
She wasn't sure what she had been expecting.
She knew what she had wanted. She had wanted her mother to prove her wrong. To look at her with the same amount of love and adoration she always had and to tell Sarah that she loved her no matter what she did, no matter who she loved.
Sarah isn't surprised to find herself sobbing alone, curled up on the couch in the studio after listening to two people who were supposed to love her unconditionally call her the vilest names in the English language.
And it hurts. It hurts so so much. She had always known, deep down inside, that her parents would never accept her for who she was. That was why she had always hidden her true self so deep down that even Sarah herself didn't know what her true colors were.
She had always known what would happen when she finally revealed those colors.
But knowing you're about to be stabbed doesn't make it hurt less. It doesn't stop the knife from piercing straight through your chest, making it impossible to breathe through the pain. It doesn't stop you from feeling the blade twisting inside your heart, destroying every last shred of hope.
She goes back home. David tells her to stay at the studio, that he'll take care of her there and that it'll be easier, in the long run, to cut their parents off then and there. She knows he's right. But she can't help but want her parents to love her again. If they had ever truly loved her to begin with.
So she goes back, she endures the anger and the hatred, she watches her brother leave her to pick up the broken pieces of their family all alone, she lets her parents blame her for David leaving, she lets Les scream that he hates her for not stopping him, and she lets him come back an hour later to sob through his apology.
She lets it happen.
And her parents stop screaming at her every time she walks by, resorting to ignoring her as if that meant she didn't exist. And Les stops begging her to convince David to come home, deciding he hates his older brother for leaving him and crying into David's pillow when he thinsk she wasn't looking. And Sarah plays her role of the perfect daughter when they're out in public, resisting the urge to flinch every time her mother puts an arm around her waist with a fake smile plastered on her face.
She had revealed one of her true colors and it had ruined everything.
She didn't regret it for a second.
Charlie Morris
Charlie is ten years old. That doesn't make him stupid. He understands what's going on around him, no matter how hard his mama and his older brothers try to hide just how bad things are. He knows why Medda is constantly working overtime, but makes sure it's only at night so she can spend every possible second at home with her boys. He knows why Jack looks so sad and lost all the time and why he can hardly bear to let his little brothers out of his sight for longer than a few minutes. He knows why Race isn't going to school anymore and why he doesn't help out at Charlie's Buddy Ball games like he used to and why he keeps waking up in the middle of the night with coughing fits so loud Charlie can't sleep through them even though their bedrooms are on opposite sides of the house.
He knows why Medda and Jack look so frantic when they can't get Charlie's big brother to stop coughing and just breathe and why Medda makes him and Jack stay in the other room when the ambulance comes and why Jack is holding onto him so tightly while they wait for Uncle Denton to arrive. He knows why the doctors and nurses keep giving him sad smiles while he sits in the hard, uncomfortable chair of the hospital waiting room and why his mama looks so sad when she tells him he has to say goodbye to his big brother and why Race looks so unbelievably tired as he manages to give Charlie a small smile.
He knows why Race doesn't say anything when Charlie lays down next to him and just wraps an arm around his shoulders, letting Charlie ramble about everything and nothing. He knows why Race rarely even opens his eyes over the next few days and why Jack stops driving him to school in the mornings. Instead, Uncle Denton picks him up and brings him to the hospital where Medda and Jack had spent the night. He knows why everyone looks so heartbroken when Race finally manages to stay awake long enough to talk and his only request is for Jack to sing to him.
He knows why his mama is hugging him tight to her chest, her tears soaking into his hair, as the steady beeping that was always running slowed to a stop. He knows why Jack breaks down into heartwrenching sobs as soon he finishes his song. He knows why Uncle Denton doesn't even say anything, he just pulls Jack into his arms and stares at Race. At his body.
Charlie knows why he's never going to see his big brother again. He knows why Jack won't even hum along to the radio anymore and he knows why Medda can't bear to touch anything in Race's room, even though there's dirty laundry on the floor and he knows she hates that. He knows why Uncle Denton keeps bringing homemade dinners over every single night and why he keeps smiling and joking as if nothing's wrong. He knows why his teachers don't seem mad when he doesn't have any of his homework done when he comes back to school two weeks later.
He knows what Medda and Jack mean when they sit him down and gently explain that Race had to "go away" to "be an angel". He knows that Jack can barely drag himself out of bed every morning and that Medda is struggling just to hold herself together as it is. He knows that they don't need him to be having a breakdown every time he feels like it (which is fairly often, if he's being honest). He knows that at least one person in his family needs to be okay.
So he tries his best to go back to normal, to tell Jack all about this day like he always does, even when he just wants his brother to hold him close and let him cry. Jack smiles every time, so Charlie thinks it's worth it. He tells his mama jokes and stories while she cooks dinner, even though he wants to tell her about how much he misses his brother and how angry he is that he had to go. Medda laughs at his jokes every time, and Charlie knows it's worth it.
Uncle Denton gets him a tablet for his eleventh birthday, and Charlie discovered pages upon pages of stories, information, and videos about ghosts and the afterlife. Charlie thinks a part of him knows that none of it is true, but come on, can you blame him for wishing there was a way to know Race was still out there somewhere?
That's all Charlie wants. He just wants his big brother back.
Les Jacobs
Les is ten years old. That doesn't make him stupid. He understands what's going on around him, no matter how hard his older siblings try to hide it from him. He knows that Davey and his parents are always one wrong look away from the next fight. He knows Sarah would do anything in the world to make their parents happy, even though they treat her like garbage. He knows that as soon as he's old enough for his parents to start setting expectations of him, he'll be going through the exact same things.
He knows that it wasn't Sarah's fault that Davey left, and he'll feel sick to his stomach for the rest of his life every time he thinks about the things he said to her when he was too angry and hurt to think straight.
He knows that Davey would have moved mountains for him, that he never would have left Les if he had any choice. But he still can't understand why he never even said goodbye. He can't understand why Davey never came back for him. He can't understand why Davey would leave him and Sarah to fend for themselves.
He can't decide which of his siblings is being braver, David for having the strength to get out while he still could, or Sarah for having the strength to stay and try to fix things. Either way, Les is glad to have her around and, years later, when he knows that those three months were the worst three months of his life, his biggest regret in the world is that he never took a break from his forced anger to tell Sarah how much he loved her.
His parents dismiss Sarah's invitation to the band's show with an air of annoyance and indifference, but Les couldn't be happier. Davey would be there. And as much as Les has been trying to hate his older brother for more-or-less abandoning him, he can't help but feel giddy at the prospect of seeing him again. Sarah arranges for him to ride to the show with Bobby's parents under the guise that Les is spending the night with a friend.
Les is giddy with excitement the whole week leading up to the show and, as Sarah tells him goodbye before she leaves a few hours early to run a soundcheck, Les barely even gives her a second look, too busy digging through his closet to find the matching shirt he and Davey had gotten on vacation the year before.
It's not until days later that he realizes that was the last time he saw his big sister alive.
He's not quite sure why Bobby's parents seem so worried when they arrive at the theatre. It's a bit empty outside but they are kinda early. He doesn't like how Mrs. Shaw squeezes his hand tighter while she speaks softly to the worker at the ticket booth with a mixture of shock and horror on her face. He can’t understand why Bobby is sitting alone backstage or why he bursts into tears the second he sees Les or why he can’t stop crying long enough to answer him when he asks “Where’s Davey?”
His parents don’t show up at the hospital for nearly four hours. No one can get ahold of them, apparently. Les isn’t sure where they could be. He doesn’t know what could possibly be more important.
Albert’s dad and brothers are around somewhere, Les saw them come in but they didn’t exactly exchange small talk.
Bobby and his parents are the ones to tell him what happened. Mrs. Shaw is the one to pull him in close and wrap him tight in her arms while he cries. Mr. Shaw is the one to hold his hand when they finally let him see his siblings after hours and hours of begging. Bobby is the one to hold him close when he runs out of tears and can’t bear to do anything else.
Les is ten years old. That doesn’t make him stupid. He knows that his parents are the reason Davey never came home. He knows his parents are the reason Sarah was so miserable all the time. He knows that maybe they couldn’t have done anything to stop what happened that night, but they sure as hell took away Les’ chance to say goodbye.
So when his parents finally show up having the audacity to look like they’d been crying, Les doesn’t run into his mother’s waiting arms when she calls out to him. He buries his head back in Bobby’s shoulder and ignores her, just like she ignored every desperate plea Sarah ever cried. He pulls away from his father’s uncharacteristically gentle touch and begins to walk away. And when his father tries to follow after him, like he never, ever did for Davey, Les yells at them to leave him alone, in the coldest voice he can muster.
He never quite remembers exactly what he said to them, but he knows it was all true. That they were the ones who drove Davey away, that they never once believed in him, that he was right to leave them, and that Les is surprised he stuck around for as long as he did. That they treated Sarah like she was nothing, less than nothing, that she had done everything for them, that all she had ever wanted was for them to love her. He tells them that his siblings died hating them and that he would die the same way.
He’s pretty sure Bobby’s parents stuttered out something about grief and Les not really meaning it but he did. And his parents knew he did. Because they knew he was right.
They could spend the rest of his childhood honoring his siblings and pretending they were heartbroken. They could keep trying to have a relationship with him and keep trying to “learn from their mistakes”. They could give Les the entire world and it wouldn’t change what they had done.
They had stolen something from Les that he could never get back, and he had no intentions of ever forgiving them for that.
Yeah so those are the only characters I've put a lot of thought into, so we're gonna do a rapid-fire version of the last four that are important to the plot. They'll all probably develop more as the AU goes on, and feel free to send an ask if one of them catches your eye!
Albert DaSilva
Listen, I love Reggie Peters with all my heart, he's probably my favorite character on the show. But I could not for the life of me figure out what to do with him in this AU. Jac suggested Albert be the third member of Sunset Curve and while I'm super excited to explore this version of the character, I have absolutely zero thoughts about his backstory.
Like, I guess I could do what I did with David and Sarah and just. combine his Newsies fanon backstory with his JATP counterpart's backstory, but I'm not 100% sure how to do that. He's definitely got some kind of daddy(?) issues 'cause I'm giving him Reggie's one-sided friendship with Ray/Medda
As of right now, Davey and Sarah are having a shared crisis, and Albert's just having fun hanging out with Medda and messing around with Charlie. He is simply vibing.
I told Jac that he would probably gain some trauma as the AU progressed and they responded, and I quote, "i cannot WAIT for this"
Send me an ask if you want Albert to get trauma and/or daddy issues.
Spot Conlon
Spot as Flynn is probably the best decision I have ever made in my entire life because they're such different characters but also they are exactly the same.
He’s doing all the same things that Flynn does, he tries to help Jack stay the music program, he gets mad when Jack lies to him about the band, he helps Jack get through the ups and downs of life, and he’s Jack’s #1 fan (he’ll accept being tied for first with Medda and Charlie)
It’s just. He’s also Spot. If you know what I mean. I don’t know how else to describe his role in the story, he’s Jack’s ride or die and that’s all there is to it.
Spot’s still a DJ I think, but I feel like he’s got a funny story for how he got into doing that. Or just how he ended up in the music program in general. Also, yes, during the I Got The Music scene, Jack does daydream Spot rapping. He’s very confused afterwards but I think it’s funny so it stays.
Joseph Pulitzer
He's taking on Caleb's role.
He's a creepy magician guy.
He manipulates his daughter.
He sucks.
That is all.
(I mean like I'll give him a backstory if you want but yeah, his main character trait is: sucks)
Katherine Pulitzer
Katherine my beloved!!!!
Okay so her backstory is incredibly involved with Pulitzer's (duh) so I guess this is kind of like a 2-for-1 type thing here.
Anywho, Katherine and her father were a double act together performing magic! I'm thinking around the 1970s or 1980s ish. She enjoyed performing but she wasn't a fan of her dad. He didn't really care about her, he just cared about how he could use her to make his show better.
She's only seventeen, so she doesn't really have a choice, but she's been making plans to get away from him the second she can, and then... well... she's not really sure. She's going to start out performing on her own, just to make enough money to keep a roof over her head, and then she'll figure it out from there. Maybe she'll find something she's actually passionate about. Maybe she'll be a performer for the rest of her life.
Katherine doesn't care. All she cares about is getting away and making something of herself. She doesn't care what she ends up doing with her life as long as it's something she can call hers.
Yeah so then a few months before her 18th birthday, one of her father's magic acts goes horribly, horribly wrong and that's the end of her story.
And then she becomes a ghost.
And now she's stuck under her father's thumb for the rest of eternity.
If only someone would come along and help her learn that she doesn't have to let her father define her and that she does have the power to stand up to him and take him down. And if only that someone was also very smart and funny and pretty and was a drummer in a 1995 rock band and was also struggling with figuring out who she was without her parents around to tell her....
IF ONLY
So yeah! That's more or less everything I have for this AU so far! I do have some ideas in mind for different scenes and overarching plotlines, so please please do drop an ask if you want to hear more! Ideas include but are not limited to:
Unsaid Emily scene but with Les! (I have a song in mind :D)
Wake Up scene but with Jack!
Les growing up and having to watch his siblings' best friend getting famous off the songs he stole from them (see it's even Worse because most of the songs are about his family because Davey wrote all of them)
Jack and Charlie having a nice little heart-to-heart about grief and such (it is criminal that we never got a scene between Julie and Carlos talking about how his obsession with ghosts and the supernatural was his way of coping with his mother's death)
Sarah and Katherine meeting for the first time
Albert telling Jack about Les (That scene from episode 5 where Julie calls Luke selfish and Alex+Reggie tell her about his mom)
Sarah running off to the studio after coming out to her parents (I have an idea for this scene that involves Albert! Mans gets to actually do things!)
Once again, huge thanks to Jac for their help with this AU and I hope y'all like it! I have spent two days writing this post instead of working on a paper that's due in 2.5 hours! Haha send help :D

Part 1
Summary: Since you couldn’t get your own freedom, you sure as hell wouldn’t pass up the chance to cling onto someone else’s
Pairing: Bucky x y/n
Word Count: 1.3k
Warnings: Language
Author's Note: Where’ve I been? Good question. Now on with the stories.
This one has been kicking around in my inbox for so long and I just love this request so much that I was scared of fucking it up but you know what, it’s 2021 and we’re all living our best lives so imma just dive in. Also y'all are so polite I love it, wasn't sure whether you wanted MCU or AU so I ended up going with the latter, hope that's ight friend.
---
You gripped the bottle of cheap-ish vodka tight as you strolled through the city, hoping you didn't look like too much of a delinquent; the corner store was out of paper bags so you had no choice but to rock the juvenile alcoholic look.
It was worth it, though, because you and your best friend Sam had been waiting for this night for years. Both of you had been living with your parents up until recently, but now Sam had managed to find a roommate willing to put up with his incredible foot odour and aversion to dish washing, so you were ready to hang onto his new-found freedom like a desperate little barnacle.
Luckily for you, his flat-warming party this evening was the perfect opportunity to properly sink your heels in.
As you approached the door, you noticed the new, immaculately white slip of paper next to the second buzzer down, which read Wilson / Barnes in Sam's scrawly handwriting. Chuckling to yourself, you pushed your thumb into the button and heard the distant ringing.
Wilson Barnes residence, how may I be of assistance?
‘You can start by opening the door you daft gimp.’
Could you state your full name and business being here please, it helps me weed out the salesmen and religious weirdos.
You could hear the rumblings of a party behind Sam’s stupid voice. Usually you’d play along with his antics, but quite frankly this wasn’t the nicest part of town, and you’d already spotted a couple guys down the street who’d taken a shine to your exposed bottle of spirit.
‘My business is to beat your ass at the first opportunity, Samuel. Open the fucking door.’
Geez alright testy, just tryna get you in the party mood, you know how it is.
You immediately pushed the door open when you heard the buzz, firmly closing it behind you and letting out a deep breath.
The inside was pretty well kept. There were a couple creaky steps and what looked like faint scratch marks on the walls, but Sam was on the same meagre wage as you, so you weren’t exactly expecting The Ritz. The muffled music led you to their apartment, where you gave the loudest knock you could manage.
Sam swung the door open and beckoned you in with a goofy grin, wiggling his fingers and hips in a come-hither motion in time with the music. You boogied towards him, taking no notice of the slight frowns you were getting from the sea of people you didn't recognise- you were pretty much Sam's only non-work friend, so it seems you had a lot of introducing to do.
You chuckled and pulled him into a hug. ‘It’s so good to see you.’
‘You too chief, glad you could make it.’
He grabbed you by the wrist and guided you towards the kitchen, weaving between bodies until the two of you reached a counter top littered with half-empty bottles and solo cups.
You set down your bottle with the rest and glanced around. ‘This place is awesome Sam.’
‘Ah you haven't seen the half of it, back up.’ You took a step back and, with the most punchable of smug faces, Sam proudly pushed a cup into the ice dispenser on his refrigerator. ‘Pretty neat, right?’
‘Oh shoot, I'm actually here to see my friend Sam,’ you coated your words in a thick layer of sarcasm as they spilled from your mouth, ‘I didn't realise I was going to be spending the evening with Elon Musk.’
He shoved you on the shoulder. The two of you chatted for a few minutes, mainly just riffing about all the crazy shit the two of you could get up to now you were free from his parents, before Sam seemed to get distracted by something over your shoulder. You glanced behind you, losing your senses a little when you spotted the most statuesque specimen of a man you’d ever seen.
'Buck, over here.’ Sam yelled and the statue turned in your direction, smiling faintly before heading straight towards you. ‘Y/n this is Bucky, my roommate.’
So this was the mystery Barnes...
Slightly lost for words, you just stuck a hand out in this stranger’s direction, feeling your face start to prickle under his bemused expression. He shook it, the loaded silence that followed making you wince. Sam was your lifeline in this situation but, just as you were about to grab on and yank as hard as you could, he sauntered away.
It took great effort to keep yourself fully collected, you just about managed to string together a couple of words. ‘So you're the poor fool who's agreed to live with that liability?’
‘You wouldn't believe how many people have asked me that this evening.’
‘Oh, I would.’
‘Yeah?’ He smiled slightly. ‘So everyone knew to avoid Sam but me?’
‘Pretty much. How does it feel to be the biggest sucker at the party?’
‘No different than usual.’
‘That’s quite telling.’
He gave a faint chuckle and brought his cup to his lips. ‘I’ve always been great at first impressions.’
My my, this was going well.
Unfortunately, before you could get in your next attempt at a witty remark, a very attractive young woman strolled over and snaked an arm around his neck. She smiled at you before planting a lingering kiss on his cheek.
‘Babe this is y/n, Sam’s friend.’ Bucky gestured towards you, then towards her. ‘This is my girlfriend Cece.’
At first your heart sank a little, the usual disappointment you got when you found out an attractive and friendly guy was taken, but you managed to pick yourself up pretty quickly. She was really beautiful and they seemed pretty happy, you were actually a little jealous of both of them.
The three of you made small talk briefly, but you got the sense that Bucky was a little uncomfortable for some reason, so you ducked out and left them to it. You hoped it wasn’t something you’d done, it’d be a huge pain in the ass if you didn’t get on with Sam’s roommate- you planned on spending a lot of time here.
The rest of the evening went surprisingly smoothly, you and Sam just goofed around all night and gradually got more hammered. You didn’t really speak to Bucky again. To be honest, it just felt a little awkward inserting yourself into a conversation with him and his girlfriend after, you know, thirsting over him like a fish out of water flopping around on the cold hard deck of spinsterhood.
You eventually called it a night and summoned an uber to take your drunken ass home. Sam escorted you down the stairs and waited by the door with you, giggling at the way you were swaying and struggling to keep your balance.
‘You sure you’re good to get home on your own? I can come in the uber with you, I don’t mind.’
‘Eh, I’ve done more with less brain power, s’all good.’ You tried your best to wink at him but it probably looked more like you were holding back a seizure.
‘If you say so.’ He smirked and folded his arms. ‘So what d’you think of Buck? Nice guy, right?’
‘Oh, I mean, yeah. For sure. He’s great, he’s… uh- really really great. Big fan.’
That was quite possibly the most conspicuous you’ve ever been.
Sam raised a suspicious eyebrow at you. ‘What’s going on? Did he say something to you?’
‘What? No. No way. Me? What do you mean? I don’t even-’ You could feel yourself digging a deeper and deeper hole but you just couldn’t stop. ‘Pfffffffffffft. Crazy talk.’
Thankfully, your uber pulled up before you could fully tie yourself in a knot. You blurted out a quick goodbye to your friend and fumbled down the stairs, jumping into the backseat of the car.
Man, if you were going to hang out with Sam as much as you wanted to, you really had to get over this stupid schoolgirl crush.

kaminari d. — 3am and electric love
Tumblr media
Pairing: Denki Kaminari x GN!Reader
Warnings: N/A
Notes: I've been experiencing some writer's block but managed to scrape this together- hope y'all like it ;w; no quirk au but everyone still goes to an academy called ua
Tumblr media
You and Denki sneak off of UA grounds and go on a 3am adventure.
Impulsive 3am trips to the little 24/7 restaurant was one of the best things you got to do with Denki.
You sighed as you pushed open the door and stepped into the quaint restaurant. Maybe it was small, but it was a nice place. With it's pop music playing quietly, the checkered floors, the sound of dishes clinking against each other, the small booths by the window with those seats that were red.
You loved it all.
You slid into the booth in the farthest corner, a waitress already approaching you, her hair tied into a tight bun and she smiled sweetly as she grabbed the pen tucked behind her ear. Her lipstick was a soft red color, and you noticed a mole under her left eye.
"Hey you two, late night, huh? What can I get you two?"
You glanced at the menu, ordering your food and chatting with Denki some more, enjoying the hominess of the restaurant. The air-conditioning combated the hot air of upcoming summer, relieving you from the heat.
"How mad do you think the staff will be if they catch us?" Denki asked, his bright yellow eyes shining with joy and mischief.
"Mr. Aizawa mainly would be fuming. I bet we'd be on cleaning duty for a week," you said with a little chuckle, propping up your chin on your hand.
The waitress returned with your food and drinks, and the two of you ate with laughter and smiles, exchanging silly thoughts and cheesy jokes. Your stomach twisted in knots as Denki tried to stifle a laugh after a particularly stupid joke.
You felt something softly hit your shoulder and you looked down at the booth seat, where a fry sat. You looked up at Denki, who was innocently whistling and looking out the window, as he tried and failed to suppress a smile.
You grabbed one of your own fries and tossed it at the yellow-haired boy, it hit him square on the forehead and he turned to you, rubbing the spot and giving a goofy grin.
"You just made a mistake," he said with a poorly said British accent, pointing a fry at you. "You've started a war, Y/N!"
You two spent a while tossing fries back and forth, giggles being exchanged as he attempted to once again catch a fry in his mouth- and finally succeeding. He celebrated by tossing his arms into the air triumphantly.
You giggled as you ate your last fry, waving over the waitress for the bill. She was smiling softly, clearly amused by something. She set down the bill and gave a head nod, and you returned it with a bright grin.
You reached for the bill but it was snatched by Denki, he waved it around teasingly. "Nuh-uh, I'm paying! It's the gentleman thing to do."
"Well no offense Denki but you're not much of a gentleman."
The boy clutched his chest dramatically, feint shock on his face as he gasped. "Y/N! How could you say that? I'm hurt.."
You laughed, hiding your face in your hands.
By the time you peeked your head back out, the waitress had already taken the bill. You and Denki stood up, Denki brushing all the crumbs off his black jeans.
As Denki opened the door, the waitress shouted, "You two have a nice night! And please come by again, we'd love to have you!"
You waved before turning around and going outside, the two of you hopping in Denki's car.
"Where to next?" He asked, glancing at you.
"Shouldn't we be heading back?"
Denki waved his hand, starting up the car.
"We'll be fine. Let's go to that lake! Isn't it somewhere close by?"
"Yeah."
Denki pulled out of the parking lot, the neon sign of the restaurant flashing.
The music on the radio played softly. You cracked open your window and the wind whipped into the car. You loudly sang the lyrics to the song as Denki turned it up, yelling it with you as his fingers drummed on the driving wheel.
You rolled down your window the rest if the way, the warm air flooding into the car and you smiled softly.
Soon you two made it to the lake, and you trudged down to the dock, sitting side by side with your legs dangling over the water.
You syared up at the stars and Denki didn't mention how he could see the reflection of the bright lights in your eyes, only smiling softly as he admired your face cast in the moonlight glow.
An idea bloomed in his head, maybe it was mean but you wouldn't stay mad at him for long for it, it would turn out being fun.
So very, very slowly, he inched his arm behind your back.
You didn't notice since you were too busy admiring the blazing stars, trying to maybe find constellations. But you did notice when you toppled forward and landed in the lake water with a splash.
Resurfacing, you wiped your face and gaped at Denki as he giggled, still perfectly dry on the dock.
Pouting a bit, you take revenge and grab his ankle, pulling and hauling him into the lake with you. He resurfaced and snorted the water out of his nose, and he still kept giggling because he didn't even care he'd been tugged into the water.
You shivered, it was still a bit too cool to swim but you brushed it off, splashing some water at Denki and he barked a laugh, splashing you back until a splashing war began with Denki ultimately winning as he picked you up and threw you back into the water.
Popping back out the water you went back over to him, wrapping your arms around his neck and your legs around his waist as he held your thighs, the two of you sharing a kiss or few and maybe even having a mini makeout session before finally stumbling out of the water.
A lot of giggles were shared and lucky Denki had towels on his car.
You two managed to sneak back into UA without being caught, and that night wasn't the last you would sneak out.
Denki Kaminari had a strange way of brightening up your life, and you loved it, and him and the little 3am trips the two of you took.

☼ ateez as your college bf ☼
Tumblr media
rating: sfw (mentions of teasing)
category: super soft, college au vibes!
---
SEONGHWA
you guys probably met in class or exchanged numbers only because y'all were apart of a group chat.
"we should study at the coffee shop together" yeah, real smooth hwa
you guys take super cute selfies together, if you don't think he'll wear matching outfits with you then you're sadly mistaken!
really bashful when talking about you, gets flustered when you compliment him
cute and subtle around friends, but once y'all are alone it's a different story
he wasn't kidding about that daddy kink, but that's a story for another day 😳
super romantic and loves kissing your cheeks softly, not very touchy but we'll hold onto you all the time protectively
Tumblr media
HONGJOONG
how did you guys meet? y'all don't really remember. maybe @ some college event where you complimented his pants
"wanna come hang in the studio with me?"
he's always busy, but he makes time for you, wants you to be there with him while he's working just because your company relaxes him
his phone background is a live wallpaper of you probably jamming out to some song he made, he loves that moment too much
isn't the most romantic, but talks about you like you're his everything. "yeah, that's my baby" or "oh my partner made this, it's pretty cool"
due to not being romantic, he gets a little awkward or shy when it comes to you complimenting him or saying you love him, but he says something equally as sweet in return
definitely falls asleep on facetime with you just so you both can wake up together, just a v chill couple
Tumblr media
YUNHO
he approached you at the cafe and said he liked your keychain, he didn't care about the keychain he just thought you were cute
ENERGETIC MAN, TALL MAN, KNOWS NOTHING BUT BEING TALL AND CUTE
very gentle and caring, always offers his jacket and holds your hand because he is so happy to be with you and around you
his petnames are never the same tbh, "baby", "apple pie", "chicken nugget" it can be anything
always down to cuddle anytime anywhere, loves feeling like he's protecting you in his arms while kissing your forehead
he gets super sOFT when you wear his hoodies or jackets. most boyfriends get agitated if you steal their stuff but yunho encourages it and shit like "yes take them all idc i wanna see my partner in my stuff"
protective as hell, will probably fight for you if it ever comes down to it, nobody crosses his BABY!!
Tumblr media
YEOSANG
he took a while to open to you, but he was sweet each time. always listening carefully and being genuinely interested in what you would say but his face made it come out the wrong way bc he probably looked bored BUT HE REALLY WASN'T
when you both confessed to each other, you were probably shocked because he seemed bored
"oh, i thought i made it pretty obvious y/n" in his own special way he did sure
master of surprises, he'd bring you cute little gifts and draw little doodles for you
smiles a LOT MORE when you're around him, super gentle when you guys hold hands
he doesn't ask for much, he just wants respect and reassurance because he's going to give the same towards you
"emma watson? who's emma watson? never heard of her before in my life." she's still in his heart, but she's not like his partner at all that's for sure
(there aren’t any gif icons of him so pls take this cute little selfie <3 )
Tumblr media
SAN
you guys probably met at a party and he came up to you and talked to you like he knew you
if he doesn't get attention every 5 seconds he's probably gonna die, that's fact
san: 🥰  y/n: *looks away for two seconds* san: 😰
he's the type of boyfriend who will tell you that he loves you every single day, gives you so many hugs and kisses and compliments you no matter what circumstance
"whoa seriously y/n you're so beautiful. it's like you're unreal." even when you just rolled out of bed being sleep deprived and unwashed hair. he doesn't care, he loves tf out of you
gets jEALOUS v easy when someone stares at you for too long he just holds onto you and hugs you but he'd get over it pretty fast because it's you so of course there's trust
constantly calls or texts random things hoping that you have a good day or again him telling you that he loves you and how lucky he is
Tumblr media
MINGI
*insert cheesy romance sitcom where you both run into each other randomly and he helps pick up your stuff*
L O U D. a big ball of positivity, always makes you laugh when you're upset or sad. he loves seeing your smile so he always does goofy stuff just to see it
ALWAYS trying to impress you "yea i bench 900 pounds, i bet you didn't know that huh?" he makes obvious bluffs sometimes, but you just go along with it
random hugs out of nowhere. doesn't matter where you are, he just wants to be closer to you because he's super affectionate with the person he loves
"hey y/n, i just got tickets to the zoo but..." dramatic sigh "i have nobody to go with...oh whatever shall i do?"
he really likes spontaneous dates and he sets up things for you guys to do all the time
he's scared of a lot of things so he's gonna be afraid but he's still gonna protect you as if ghouls and goblins don't exist in the dark (in mingi logic, they totally do)
Tumblr media
WOOYOUNG
you guys met through mutual friends, he visited your friend one day and probably looked over at you and was like "wow, you're cute" and casually went about his day
teases you CONSTANTLY, he kinda wants to see you squirm and get reactions from you. randomly kissing the side of your neck or brushing against you...it never ends
SUPPORTIVE AS HELL. even if you do something wrong he's gonna blindly defend you. "so what if y/n wants to punch babies?! let people live!"
if y'all ever argue he gets sensitive as hell and just stays quiet while you speak before taking his time to speak. he respects you and refuses to upset you any further if he did
makes matching charms so you guys can wear it together whenever you're around each other
still flirts with you as if you guys are strangers. you could be cooking something and he's like "damn, you got a boyfriend? 😏" again just to tease you and get a rise
you guys ALWAYS laugh and have a good time with one another, it's never a dull moment with him
Tumblr media
JONGHO
you guys met at some college event to where he sang a beautiful rendition of a song and you complimented his voice when you saw him later that day. he just says thanks and it goes from there
y'all were friends for a hot minute after that, he didn't want to jump to flirty mode because he has to feel you out first. once he confessed, he expressed his feelings more
overprotective as hell, but he does it very cutely. "y/n, it's cold...come close to me okay?"
sings you to sleep when you're having a very rough night, cuddling you and pulling you to his chest while he sings love songs to you. (ugh that made me soft bye)
prepares small little gifts for you, but kinda just pops up with it instead of surprising you because he sucks at surprises
super careful with you and intimate, just kinda stares at you sometimes because WHEW you're so beautiful
people think he's a serious boy but he's so soft to you, hand-holding and cuddles will happen along small occasional kisses. they say he doesn't like affection, but you're a different story ok!

Best Beloved: Chapter 5
A/N: Hey y'all! This is a PM AU I’ve been working on. It’s a bit different than my previous fic series and I’m really excited to try something new. I hope y’all enjoy it. This story is told in dual first-person narrative, from Kaia (F!MC) and Damien’s POV. The first half of this story takes place during Kaia’s freshman year and Damien’s senior year of college. The second half is two years after Kaia graduates. There will be sprinklings of canon in this fic, but we’ll try to step out of the box for the most part. Thanks for reading, and please leave feedback, and/or if you would like to be tagged.
Catch up here
Series Tags: @burnsoslow @lady-calypso @irishwhiskys-blog @loveellamae
Synopsis: What happens when you find yourself crushing on your best friend? For years, Damien and Kaia have been friends, while secretly harboring feelings for one another. Everything changes one night after a little too much alcohol and years of pent up feelings. Can they control their emotions and salvage their friendship, or will the feelings they hold for one another destroy everything they have?
All characters are the property of Pixelberry Studios. Thanks for allowing me to borrow them.
Tumblr media
Chapter Summary: Damien and Kaia meet for a study group, but the assignment isn’t the only thing they’re struggling with.
Kaia
“You’re late,” I said, my feet propped up on the table, as Damien shuffled across the library to where I was sitting. It was our weekly study session and we were supposed to start 20 minutes ago, but I was the only one in our group who had grasped the concept of time management.
“Yeah, sorry. This internship is kicking my ass. I had to stay late because we were setting up some new security clearance protocols. Don’t tell anyone though. That information is classified,” he replied as he slid the backpack off his shoulder. He took a seat at the table and shot me a panty-dropping grin. My body instantly reacted. Bastard. How did he keep doing that?
“Yeah, well Brad and Allison aren’t here yet either, so I guess I can’t be too mad at you.”
“You couldn’t be mad at me if you wanted to. You love me.”
I paused. Did he really just say that?  He always knew how to push my buttons. Even when we were kids. It’s like he lived to get a reaction out of me. I cleared my throat awkwardly. “Anyway. We need to get the rest of this project done. It’s due on Monday. Did you finish your part?”
“Of course I did. What do you take me for?” he grinned, pulling his laptop from his backpack. I watched him from the corner of my eye as he set it on the table and opened it up, powering up the device. “I’m emailing it to you right now so you can add it to the final document.”
I had the unfortunate task of presenting the project to the class, so everyone sent their parts to me. It was my job to outline the project, then organize each part into our PowerPoint.
“Not gonna lie, this is not how I wanted to spend my Saturday afternoon. I have a very pissed off girlfriend right now,” he said.
I hid my smirk behind my laptop. I know, I know. It wasn’t very nice of me, but I got a little thrill hearing that Damien and Alana were having problems. It wasn’t that I wanted my friend to be miserable, but if he suddenly became single, it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. I had nothing against Alana personally, but the few times we interacted, she was very cold towards me.
“Hmm...that sucks. So, I have Allison’s part. She emailed it to me last night, but I’m still waiting on Brad’s part. I put your part on slides 5 and 6 to transition from Allison’s slide, then we’ll put Brad’s part on slides 9 and 10 after my part. Then, we should be good to go.” I checked the time on my phone. Brad and Allison were over half an hour late. I sent both of them a text asking when they planned on showing up, then went back to laying out the presentation.
Damien and I worked in silence for several minutes. Occasionally, I would look up from my computer and sneak peeks of him. I couldn’t help but stare at his features. Even after all these years, my attraction for him never waned. He looked up and caught me staring; his lips turned up in a wide grin.
“Do I have something on my face?”
“Um...uh...nope. Y-you’re all good!” I replied a little too enthusiastically.
“Then why are you staring at me like that?” he smirked.
I felt my cheeks turn beet red. I quickly looked away and tried to focus on what I was working on, but I could still feel his eyes on me. My phone pinged, breaking the silence — and thank the gods — the tension. I grabbed it and saw a message from Allison. She mentioned that she wasn’t feeling well and would not be able to make our study group tonight, but that she would see us next week. There was still no word from Brad, which I was not surprised by.
I rolled my eyes and placed my phone on the table. “Well, Allison’s not coming. I don’t know about Brad, but I’m guessing if he was going to show up, he’d be here by now.”
Damien shrugged. “No biggie. That kid is a major tool anyway. Not having him here is a blessing.”
I giggled. “True, but we can’t finish without his contribution, so we’re stuck with him until we turn this stupid ass project in.”
“Yippie,” he said in a monotone voice. I rolled my eyes and went back to finishing up our presentation.
We worked for about ten more minutes until my eyes started to blur from staring at the screen. “Well, I guess this is a good stopping point for now. Until we get Brad’s part, this is as far as we can work,”
I stuffed my things in my backpack and slung it over my shoulder when Damien stopped me.
“Hey, you busy right now? Wanna go get a bite to eat?”
I cocked my head in confusion. Was he really asking me to hang out? I had offered to meet him for lunch or coffee outside of our study group several times, but he always had plans with Alana. “Uh…I guess. If that’s okay with you.”
“Obviously it is because I just asked you,” he smirked.
“Yeah, sure. You wanna go now?”
“Nah, I was thinking sometime next month. Of course, I want to go now. When else would we go?” His voice dripped with sarcasm.
I looked down at the yoga pants and hoodie I was wearing. “Well, I was hoping to shower and change before I go out in public.”
“You look fine. No one’s going to give a shit what you’re wearing. Besides, you’re technically already out in public, so it’s a little late for that,” he laughed.
I huffed. “Fine. Where are we going?”
“There’s a little bistro off-campus that has really good burgers.” He slung an arm around my shoulder, pulling me to his body. The feeling of him pressed up against me sent chills down my spine. I shuddered as he grabbed my backpack and handed it to me, then led me out of the library.
When we reached his car in the campus parking lot, he unlocked the doors and tossed his backpack in the back seat. I stopped in my tracks. He still had the same car from high school. All the memories of us riding around in this thing on Friday nights came flooding back. He moved to the driver’s side door, stopping to wait for me. “Are you going to get in the car, or are you just going to stand there all day staring into space?” He extended his arm and tapped his index finger to his wrist. “Time’s a-wastin', Park.”
Snap out of it, Kaia. It’s just Damien. But it wasn’t ‘just Damien.’ It was the boy I had been in love with for as long as I could remember. I moved slowly to the car and opened the passenger’s side door, sliding in. He smirked and started the ignition. We drove in silence, the only sounds coming from the radio. A song from our childhood started playing and we looked at each other with goofy grins on our faces.
“Remember the first time we heard this song? You wouldn’t stop singing it for weeks,” he said with a laugh.
“What? It’s a good song,” I replied, singing along and dancing in my seat.
I smiled at the memory that song brought back. It was the summer of 2009. Damien and I were in his backyard, hanging out in the treehouse he and his dad built a few summers before. Two of his younger sisters, Isabela and Carina, were having a sleepover, so he was hiding out. His sister Carina was my age and we were in a couple of classes together, so I was friendly with her, but I spent more time with Damien. The sun had finally set over the horizon so we decided to start up a fire in the fire pit and make S’mores. We climbed down the ladder and he pulled a lighter from his pocket.
“Why do you have that?” I gasped.
His eyes met mine and a smirk spread across his face. “I was smoking a J behind the school gym this morning, so I needed it.” He stared at me for a few seconds, watching my reaction, then burst out laughing. “I found it in the junk drawer in the kitchen, you dork. You know I don’t smoke.”
I leaned over and smacked his arm. “Not funny, Dames.”
“I disagree. I thought it was hilarious.”
“Whatever. Just light the stupid fire. I’ll run inside and grab the stuff to make S’mores.”
“Watch out for the slumber party,” he called back as I walked into the house. I made it to the kitchen and started rummaging through the cabinets, looking for the ingredients we needed. I found the graham crackers and chocolate bars but had no luck locating the marshmallows. I was about to go back outside and asked Damien when I turned and bumped into Isabela.
“Hey, Kaia. Whatcha doing?” she asked, holding several bags of chips in her arms.
“Dames and I are making S’mores. Where are your marshmallows?”
She set the bags of chips down and rummaged around the pantry before locating and tossing me the bag. “So, what’s going on with you and my brother?”
My cheeks instantly flushed. “Wh-what do you mean?”
She smirked. “You know what I mean. You two spend an awful lot of time together. Are you two a thing?”
“No. It’s not like that. We’re just friends,” I lied. Her cocked eyebrow said she didn’t buy my bullshit, but she nodded her head. I grabbed the bag of marshmallows from her hand and hightailed it back outside. "I Gotta Feeling" by Black Eyed Peas blasted through the portable speakers in the yard. I approached Damien sitting in front of the firepit, poking one of the logs with a stick. He was shirtless and the moonlight bounced off the muscles of his toned back. The sight made my mouth water. That was the first time I realized I was in love with him.
I was thrust back into the present by the sound of Damien killing the engine. I looked up and noticed we had arrived at the bistro. We exited the car and made our way inside, snagging a table toward the back of the restaurant. The waitress dropped off the menus and took our drink orders, before leaving us to decide what to eat. I pretended to peruse the menu, but my mind was on the guy sitting in the booth across from me.
“Order whatever you want. My treat,” he said.
“Huh?”
I looked up and he was watching me. He nodded toward the menu in my hand. “Don’t worry about paying. I’ve got it this time.”
“You don’t have to do that, you know.”
“I know,” he said softly, riling up the butterflies in my stomach. Our waitress returned a few minutes later and took our orders. Damien ordered the Maple Bacon Burger while I ordered the Mac ‘N Cheese Burger. The waitress left to put our orders in, leaving us alone again.
“So, now that we’re a month into the school year, how are your classes going?” he asked.
I shrugged, swirling my straw in my glass. “Classes are going well. I’m not ready to drop any of them, so that’s a plus. Dorm life is pretty fun, too. I got really lucky with my roomie. Her schedule is different from mine, so we don’t see much of each other, but one night a week, we hang out.” I tapped my finger against my chin. “It’s crazy to think that we’re already a quarter of the way through the semester, so that means I’m 1/32nd of the way through my college career.”
He laughed. “I guess that’s one way of looking at it. What else is going on? Any interesting guys catch your attention lately?”
My eyes shot up to meet his. Why was he asking me that? I went back to staring at my drink. “Uh...not really. There is this guy in my algebra class who asked me out, but I turned him down.” I peeked at him from under my lashes, unable to make out his expression.
***
Damien
I wasn’t sure how I felt about that. On one hand, I wanted her to find someone who would make her happy if I couldn’t. On the other hand, knowing that she wasn’t involved with anyone gave me a tiny sliver of hope. I know she wouldn’t wait for me forever, but I still liked that there wasn’t another guy capturing her attention. Jesus, I was such an asshole.
“So, what happened?” the words left my mouth before I could stop them.
She shrugged. “I don’t know. He’s super nice and really cute, but I just couldn’t bring myself to say yes. Which is weird, because there’s definitely an attraction between us. My whole goal for this semester was to step out of my comfort zone.”
She looked up at me, those big, beautiful brown eyes staring into my soul. No matter how hard I tried to fight it, everything about this girl did things to me. Her laugh was like the most beautiful music to my ears. Her sense of humor was aligned with mine. Even her looks were enough to make other girls jealous. When she complained earlier about how she was dressed, I internally rolled my eyes. Even when she didn’t try, she still looked mouth-watering. She was wearing a pair of black yoga pants and a light pink hooded sweatshirt with the words “Rosé and Shine” written in gold cursive letters across the chest. Yes, I looked at her chest. If she busted me, I would’ve just said I was trying to read her shirt.
I awkwardly cleared my throat. “You should give him a chance. Who knows? He might turn out to be a great guy. We all know those are in short supply lately.” Gods, what was I doing? I knew it was the right thing to do, but saying those words hurt.
She nodded. “Yeah, I guess. Maybe he is great and we’ll be really happy together. I just don’t know if I’m ready to start dating yet. I think… I just...I’m not over...” she trailed off.
“You’re not over what?”
“Nevermind,” she shook her head and took a long sip of her drink.
The wheels started turning. Was she talking about me? I know she dated in high school, but Nadia told me those relationships never lasted longer than a few months. She suspected I was the reason for that. Yeah, I know it sounded a tad creepy, but I was able to keep tabs on her, thanks to her cousin’s need to gossip.
One particular moment was that first Christmas after I left for college. I received a text from Nadia asking if I was coming home. She then asked that I keep my distance from Kaia. When I asked her “why,” she told me that she was still upset about what happened after graduation.
But I didn’t care. I wanted to see my best friend. I dropped by her house to say hi to her parents. They always treated me like the son they never had. Her dad asked how college was going. I told them about my classes and the friends I had made so far. Her mom was filling me in about the neighborhood gossip when I caught a glimpse of Kaia hovering in the hallway. She looked like she wanted to talk to me, but I could tell she was embarrassed to see me.
We locked eyes briefly before she turned around and retreated to her bedroom. I waited a few moments then excused myself to use the bathroom. I stood outside her door, listening for any signs of movement, before lightly tapping on the door. I heard the springs of her mattress squeak under her weight, then the door swung open. She looked adorable in her red and white Reindeer pajama pants and white thermal top. My eyes briefly traveled down and I noticed she wasn’t wearing a bra.
“So, you weren’t even going to come to say hi to me?” I asked.
She shifted on her feet. “I don’t know. I figured you didn’t want to talk to me after what happened last time.” I watched as her eyes traveled up and down my body. It took everything in me to keep from pushing her into her room and kissing her. As much as I wanted to, I couldn’t. Not only were her parents in the other room, I knew the whole age difference was frowned upon. And what if we did get together and it didn’t work out? I’d lose my best friend forever.
“You’re my best friend, Kaia. No matter what happened in the past, that will never change,” I replied.
“Even when I get drunk and act like a lovesick idiot?” She played with the drawstring of her pants, avoiding my eyes.
I gripped her chin with my thumb and forefinger, tilting her face up towards mine. “There’s nothing you could do that would ever make me want to stop being your best friend. And hey, I don’t hold what happened back then against you. Sometimes we do dumb things when we’re drunk.”
Her face dropped and it told me I had said the wrong thing. I brought my hand up and cupped her cheek and she leaned into my touch. The moment was interrupted when her mom called from the kitchen to ask me if I wanted some hot cocoa. I dropped my hand and gave her a weak smile, then backed away slowly as I made my way down the hall back to the living room. I looked over at my shoulder to see her still standing in her bedroom doorway, watching me go.
I was pulled back into the present when the waitress arrived at our table and delivered our food. The two of us ate in awkward silence, occasionally looking up at each other. After our plates were cleared, the waitress reappeared and I ordered a slice of cherry pie for us to share. When the pie arrived, we each took a fork and dug in.
“So, tell me more about this mystery guy?” I asked, trying to lighten the mood.
She chewed for a few moments, hesitant to talk about it, then finally spoke. “Well, his name is Hayden. He’s a freshman and a photography major. He’s from Upstate New York and has a Border Collie named Dipper. He also has a twin brother named Harley, but I guess they don’t get along. Nadia loves him and she’s been bugging me to go out with him for the last few days.”
I didn’t know this kid from Adam, but I instantly didn’t like him. Was it jealousy? Probably. Was I going to do anything about it? Nope. “It’s obvious that you like him, so why not go out with him. You’re overthinking this, Kaia.”
“Yeah, maybe,” she sighed and took another bite of pie. At that moment, Alana’s friends Rowan and Cecile walked by. They waved, then stopped short when they noticed it wasn’t my girlfriend sitting in the booth across from me. Cecile gave me a skeptical glance while Rowan looked on in shock.
“Hey, Damien. What are you up to?” He asked, looking between Kaia and me.
“Hey, guys! Just capping off a little study session. This is Kaia. She’s an old friend.”
He nodded. “Cool, cool. You guys going to Homecoming next week? Cecile is a candidate for court, so we were going to have a little get-together after the crowning ceremony. You and Alana should come. It’s gonna be fun.”
“Yeah, that sounds good, man. I’ll talk to her about it this weekend.”
Cecile cocked an eyebrow as if to call me out on my bullshit, but didn’t say anything. She narrowed her eyes at Kaia, then turned back to me. “Well, we gotta go. Tell your girlfriend, Alana, hi for us.” She grabbed Rowan’s hand and they walked out. I sighed. I was sure I was going to get a phone call about that by the end of the night.
“Well, that was weird,” she said. “Speaking of, what’s going on with you and Alana?”
Shit, where do I start? “It’s complicated right now. We’re taking a break.”
Her eyes widened. “You guys broke up?”
“Eh...Not exactly. We’ve been fighting a lot, so we’re taking a few days to calm down and re-evaluate the relationship. It’s not how I would have handled things, but she thinks it will give us time to,” I held up my index and middle fingers, making air quotes, “figure things out. She thinks I’ve been neglecting her, which I kind of have been. But she also thinks I’m cheating on her.”
“Wow...I genuinely don’t know how to respond to that,” she replied.
“Yeah, me neither.”
Kaia nodded silently, setting her fork down on the plate. She rested her elbows on the table and folded her hands in front of her face. “Can I be honest with you? This whole relationship seems really unhealthy. There’s a huge lack of trust on both sides. That’s something a break isn’t going to fix. If she doesn’t trust you to be faithful, your relationship is doomed to fail. So, it’s up to you to figure out how you want to proceed. If you think the relationship is worth saving, you need to prove that you’re a reliable partner, and she needs to work through her insecurities. If not, you’re better off ending it now. Especially before you two decide to get engaged or something.”
“I kind of already proposed to her though,” I said, rubbing the back of my neck.
“Oh,” she replied. “Well, you should think about doing some sort of premarital counseling before you get married.”
“Yeah, I don’t think that’s going to happen anytime soon.”
“And why’s that?”
“Because she said no,” I deadpanned.
Kaia went quiet. I waited for her to say something else, but before she could speak, the waitress reappeared to drop our check off and ask if we needed anything else. Neither of us spoke as I paid the bill and we made our way out to the car. I debated asking her what she was thinking but decided against it. We rode in silence back to the dorms. When I pulled up in the parking lot, she grabbed the handle to exit the car, then stopped.
“For what it’s worth, Dames, I am sorry about you and Alana. I might not like her, but you’re my best friend. And if she makes you happy, then I’m happy for you. If you ever want to talk about it, you know where to find me. I’ve been told I’m a good listener.”
I nodded. “Thanks. I appreciate that. And hey, let me know how things go with Hayden.”
She frowned slightly, then quickly covered it up with a smile. “Will do. I’ll see you in class on Monday. Have a good weekend.” She got out of the car and took off running towards her dorm.
I dragged my hand down my face. Get it together, Dames. She was my best friend. And I had a girlfriend. I got out of the car and headed toward my dorm. When I reached my floor, I swung open the door to my room and was met by the cold stare of my girlfriend, sitting on my bed, her hands folded in her lap.
“Alana? What are you doing here?” I asked as I moved into the room. She rose from the bed and made her way towards me.
“Cecile texted me.”
Shit. I knew this was coming. “Babe, it’s not what you think.”
Her eyes gave away nothing as she took a deep breath. “It’s not important. What matters is you and me.”
Confused, I grabbed her hand and sat down on the bed. “You know I love you, babe. And I know I’ve been a shitty boyfriend these last few weeks, but I want to make this work and I’m willing to do whatever it takes.”
She nodded, but her face told me she didn’t believe me. I sighed and pressed a kiss to her temple. It was going to be a long night.

Kiribaku au month: Day 14: YouTuber Au!! 📹💻
Hey guys! A little explanation, I was heavily inspired by Jenna Marbles and Julien Solomita, so I have some kiribaku art of the Jenna marbles Claire's makeover! I also wrote a drabble.
It also has a bit of yesterday's au prompt in it, Angel and Demon.
Tumblr media
@kiribakumonth2019
So! I hope you like that, and before we get to the drabble there's some things that need explaining.
Jenna and Julien have 4 dogs together, Kermit, Marble, Peach, and Bunny!
Now, I've casted them as the following, and please remember that they are dogs! 😂
Jenna: Katsuki
Julien: Kirishima
Kermit: Deku
Peach: Mina
Marble: Denki
Bunny: Uraraka
Ok, with that out of the way, I hope you enjoy the drabble! Oh! And I almost forgot, I made some inaccurate quotes to go along with this.
Youtuber Au
Inaccurate Quotes:
-------------------------------------------
Katsuki: Deku......I love you so much but you TEst Me EVeRy DaY, BOI!
Deku: *cries in nasty*
-------------------------------------------
Deku: *gives Katsuki kisses*
Katsuki: Aww, that was sweet
Kirishima: He just licked his dick right before that
Katsuki: *blankly stares and looks to Deku as Frolic by Luciano Michelin plays* Is that true? Did you do that to me??
Deku: *avoids direct eye contact and licks again* no
-------------------------------------------
Kirishima: *filming Deku drooling as he waits for food* OoOhohohooo Deku, that's so nastyyy!!
Katsuki: *cry laughing as he tries to feed Denki who will only eat off of the ground* wHhhyyy are you like this, Deku?¿? 😂
Kirishima: Ohhhehehh, he did- he did it AGAIN!!
-------------------------------------------
Katsuki gives a long sigh, cutting the camera off after reciting his outro. Another week, another video. With some help him and Kirishima pack up the lighting and recording equipment.
Deku has somehow climbed onto the table and is now crying for attention like always, the fucking weirdo. Katsuki gives another heavy sigh and goes over to usher him down.
"Get off the table ya fuckin nasty gremlin, god, Eijirou it's like talking to a crybaby, what does he even WANT for fucks sake?!?
"I don't know, maybe give him a greenie to distract him? God knows he needs it." Eijirou gives a little chuckle as he carries the equipment to their game room, cooing to Uraraka along the way.
Katsuki huffs and makes his way to the kitchen, with Deku and Mina hot on his heels hoping for food.
"Alright you piggies y'alls breath stink like Satan's shit hole so you're getting a greenie and NOTHING ELSE, ya hear?!"
Deku gives a whine as he sits up that weird way he does, and Mina just gives a little dance as she waits impatiently.
Bakugou struggles digging through the pantry to find the box of greenies he swore were in there. He curses a bit as Deku's whines grow louder and Mina gives a bark before he recalls using the last of the greenies for last week's video for the pupsicles.
"DAMN it, Eijirou! We forgot to pick up more greenies the other day!" He stomps over to the fridge to check if they had any leftover pupsicles. Distantly he hears Eijirou suddenly call after Uraraka and he closes the freezer after coming empty handed.
"You know what, Deku? I love you but imma need you to take it from an eleven to a two right now and Mina shushhhh, y'all want some fuckin watermelon I know we have THAT at least," he mumbles as he digs through the fridge to obtain the container of cubed watermelon.
"Katsu! Uraraka has your slap bracelet and I-"
"Goddamnit, fuck! Here, feed the cry baby and the chunk some watermelon and I'LL handle Uraraka."
He jogs over to the living room and snags a tug toy from the couch, disturbing a napping Denki in the process. He halts for a second to pat the clueless pup before turning his attention to the problem at hand, Uraraka having gone to her dog bed in the corner with Katsuki's slap bracelet in her mouth.
"Now hunny, that's not for you! Here! You want this toy?? Wanna play with this- this..." Katsuki takes a second to look at the goofy ass sausage link you he picked up and curses how absolutely ridiculous he must seem. He's glad his friends never come over enough to know the lengths he goes for his dogs. He calmly scoots close to Uraraka and wiggles the toy a bit to get her attention.
"Come here, girl, come on Ura, you don't want that" he slowly coaxes the slap bracelet out of her mouth and quickly tosses the toy for her to go chase. He watches her bolt across the couch cushions to give chase, fully waking Denki from his nap yet again.
Katsuki gives a small, lazy grin as he settles next to him. He scoops up the smaller dog and quietly coos to him while he skritches behind his ears. In the background he hears Kirishima establish some more commands for Uraraka before rewarding her with some watermelon as well.
When he's done, he joins Katsuki on the couch and turns on their friend Sero's twitch live stream that they were supposed to join in but cancelled due to Katsuki's weekly video still having to be filmed.
Slowly Deku and Mina join them on the couch and Ura settles back on her bed to mess with another toy. Denki settles back in his lap to drift back into dreamland and Kirishima stretches an arm around his shoulders.
Katsuki lets out a softer sigh this time and relaxes into the touch, and thinks to himself how truly lucky he is to have what he does. And he has the freedom to create the type of videos HE wants to make. Life couldn't get much better, could it?
Geez, this seems a lot longer then it probably is 😅 I don't really write much but I'm trying to make a new hobby out of it! That being said I really hope you guys like it, and feel free to comment and send me any critiques, I really could use the feedback!

MORE WHITEROSE BUT THIS TIME AN AU IDEA
A not so original idea but whatever.
High school Au time:
Popular and Preppy!Weiss has always noticed the quiet brunette with red highlights...I mean how could she not? She had the prettiest silver eyes that shone like mirrors. But this was not how she envisioned properly introducing herself would go...
Everything about her day started normally, Winter had made them both breakfast before having to leave soon after, for work, she had walked to school happily soon being joined by her good friend Preppy!Pyrrha, but as they entered the school they see the red hoodie girl and Velvet being harassed by Cardin and his merry band of losers. She could see Pyrrha gritting her teeth at the sight, she never had liked bullies. Just as Weiss was about to go over and give the brute and his loser group a piece of her mind, a firm shout from up the hallway froze her in place.
"Hey, asshat! What do you think you're doing to my sister!?"
And of course it was Yang Xiao-Long resident self-proclaimed badass, and not so surprisingly she is followed by Coco Adel, Blake Belladonna and Ilia Amitola. At their appearance, Cardin's group of losers begin to disperse, well everyone but the dumbass himself. He even goes as far as to continue to push the silver-eyed girl and Velvet around. And while Weiss doesn't particularly get along with Xiao-Long, Weiss believes Yang deserves better than to get expelled because she murders the piece of trash that is Cardin Winchester. Even if he did deserve it. So Weiss does what any eloquent, future business owner would do...
She whacks him in the back of the head with her bag.
And of course, she gets detention. But luckily so does Cardin, thanks to two calm, (technically) non-biased statements from Belladonna and Pyrhha. Unsurprisingly Cardin glared at her the entire time, mumbling derogatory terms under his breath that Weiss couldn't care less about.
What was surprising about the situation was that the red hooded, silver-eyed wonder was waiting for her outside of Principal Ozpin's office. She gives Weiss a small, awkward and admittedly cute smile and outstretched her hand, and within her palm was a small keychain that must've fallen off her bag when she hit Winchester. Weiss herself gives her a gentle smile and carefully takes the charm in her own hands.
"Thank you, and I'm sorry about what happened with Cardin today, I'm also sorry for uh..well interfering the way I did, I-I didn't mean to make it a bigger deal-"
However, the silver-eyed cutie girl just shakes her head and gives Weiss the most genuine reassuring smile she's ever seen. Before bringing her hands up and moving her fingers across her palm and connecting her fingers occasionally. This leads Weiss to a small bought of confusion but after the red hoodied girl fidgets with her glasses Weiss finally understands what she's doing.
"O-oh. That's sign language, correct? I-I'm sorry I don't, I didn't understand what you said"
Weiss can't help but feel a little awkward, she wasn't quite accustomed to this type of situation. The brunette gives her another reassuring smile and nod before grabbing out her phone, tapping on it for a moment and then typing something up. And she smiles softly as she holds her phone out slightly, and in a typical robotic sounding voice her phone says,
"You don't have to apologize for anything, thank you for sticking up for me and Velvet. I have to say it was really surprising to see you act like that Weiss"
Weiss is surprised by that. This silver eyed beauty, cutie, girl, the girl she's been admiring from afar actually knows her name. Well, her heart now feels like it's about to burst out of her chest. And the brunette continues to smile softly at Weiss, before typing up,
"I just wanted to thank you in person, no one other than Yang, Blake and the gang really stick up for me, so it makes me really happy you did-"
She pauses for a moment before she continues,
"-and if you wanted to...well I was hoping maybe we could hang out sometime. Maybe read in the library or something."
She has a slight blush over her cheeks as the phone reads this aloud, making Weiss's own growing blush burn brighter. And Weiss in all her useless pansexual glory adorns a slightly goofy smile and nods weakly...that was the only confirmation her lovesick brain could give out apparently. Luckily for her, the silver eyed girl was happy to take that as enough, she even smiles brightly as gives Weiss a small piece of paper, which, when Weiss gives it a closer examination has her number on it. And with one small, adorable smile and fidget of her glasses the silver eyes beauty begins to walk down the hall before Weiss has a sudden realization.
"Wait! Um, I didn't get your name."
She turns back slightly, smiling happily, making her eyes shine with the reflection of Weiss in them. The version of Weiss she never thought she would ever see reflected in another person's eyes. A Weiss that could quite possibly be a true future for herself. The brunette finished typing out her response in the time of Weiss's inner reflection,
"My name is Ruby. Ruby Rose. And I'll see you later Weiss"
And with one last sweet smile, one that forced her to close her gorgeous eyes, she turned and headed out to the parking lot, most likely where Xiao Long and Belladonna are waiting for her. Weiss can't help but stand there star struck, clutching the small paper to her rapidly beating chest. Smiling an undoubtedly goofy looking smile, while she reflects on the events of the day.
While it wasn't exactly how she expected their introduction to go, she was definitely happy with the overall result. And while she isn't quite sure yet where everything may lead her, there was one thing she knew for sure.
Ruby Rose is definitely going to be the death of her. In the best ways possible.
*And that's it*
Side Note(s): first of all, Happy Pride Month y'all! While at first, I was hoping to have this done earlier, I'm kind of happy to have it posted now. Feels appropriate.
and, for anyone wondering Ruby in this AU is mute by choice, I had a justified reason but I didn't feel like adding it in because it didn't exactly feel relevant to the whole reason I made the idea. Also once again HAPPY PRIDE MONTH!!!!

Movies
Pairing: SKZ’s Chan x OC [Yeon] Genre: college!au, slice of life, slight fluff Word Count: 5,693 Summary: Yeon was peacefully watching a movie at home until her brother disrupted her. Then she finds herself going to the movies with her siblings and her brother’s friends. What can she do though?
Warning: siblings playful fight. some curse words. i think that’s it.
yo, hey! i’m sorry that it’s another SKZ story, but hey it is what it is. lol and if you haven’t watched Detective Pikachu, then please do! it’s so cute. i didn’t put any spoilers in here if you haven’t watched it yet. lol but yeah, that’s about it and so happy reading and kthxbai, Admin Lia~
revised 9.13.20
"Yeon. Can you leave and go hang out somewhere else?" Minho asked his step-sister while standing in front of the TV blocking her view.
She swerved her head to look around him while speaking and not paying her step-brother any attention.
"No. I was here first. You're blocking my view of Xiao Nai and Bei Weiwei who are about to actually meet in real life."
Minho stepped into her line of sight and blocked her view once again.
"Can't you be like Seul and watch it in your room or something?"
"No. Why can't you go into your room and do whatever it is that you wanna do in there?"
Yeon paused the film and finally glanced up at Minho awaiting his response.
"I can't. I have friends over and it'll be too cramped." Minho answered.
"That's not my fault." Yeon replied indifferently while hugging her large stuffed rabbit that she was partially lying upon and continued to watch her movie. "Besides, the parents told us that we weren't supposed to have anyone over."
"Yeah, they're not here and I can do whatever I want." Minho remarked just as he tugged her plush doll out from under her and began to softly hit her with it. "Move so that I can have the living room, Yeon."
"Ugh, fuckin' Minho. No and stop it. You're so annoying."
She blocked the attacks while standing up to get even with him. Minho slightly feared for his life as he knew that Yeon doesn't hold back even if the other person was the opposite gender, but continued to attack his sister until the two tumbled to the ground and Yeon was now the one softly hitting her brother with the stuffed toy.
"You little shit. I took care of your cats for free and this is the appreciation I get?"
Yeon gave her brother one final little hit before standing up while huffing and letting the rabbit drop on top of him.
"Little asshole. Next time ask someone else to take care of them and I hope they charge you a lot."
Once Yeon had gotten all of that out of her system and looked in a random direction to not stare at Minho's body, her eyes met with a familiar face among the seven other people standing there. Yeon quickly averted her gaze out of embarrassment because she didn't know that he was friends with her brother.
"Fuck my life." She mumbled to herself before glaring down at Minho who had turned on his side while petting the stuffed rabbit to cast her a slight smirk.
"Why didn't you say that they were already here, you jerk."
Yeon lightly kicked Minho's thigh as he just laughed at her not responding back.
"I'ma eat all of your strawberry ice cream and tell Dad that it was you who broke his bookshelf and not Doongie."
"Ah, wait, Yeon. Please don't eat my ic-" Minho called out, but Yeon rushed off not letting him finish his sentence.
"Um, you good?" Seul asked her sister upon Yeon entering her bedroom without a knock.
"Minho's friends are here." Yeon informed her, but not answering her sister's question.
"He knows that Dad told us not to have anyone over, right?"
"He does, but he doesn't care."
"Well, that's Minho for you. Lucky for him since the parents will be gone for the week. Anyways, is that why you're in here now? Because you think his friends are cute." Seul teased as Yeon rolled her eyes and sat on Seul's desk chair as the younger female was occupying her own bed.
"Not even." Yeon denied. "I just embarrassed myself a while ago."
Seul laughed.
"What did you do?"
"I beat up Minho with Maki while his friends were quietly watching it all go down."
Seul laughed louder. Yeon wasn't amused and rolled her eyes until her sister's laughing died down.
"It's not that funny."
"That's pretty funny because that's so you."
"Shut up, but the dumb part is that I know one of them."
"Oh?" Seul let out in surprised. "Who? Do I know him?"
"Bang Chan."
Seul perked up upon hearing the name with a teasing look.
"Ohh, the one with that Australian accent, right?"
"Yes." Yeon confirmed while narrowing her eyes cautiously upon noticing her sister's expression. "What about it?"
"I have a classmate that has an Australian accent, too. I wonder if they're related."
"Oh okay. Same accent must mean they're related."
"You never know since I hardly come across other people with another accent." Seul stated before returning back to the previous top. "This is the same Bang Chan that made you a playlist when y'all first met so that you can listen to something while studying and even to sleep better, right?" Seul cooed playfully afterwards while Yeon rolled her eyes soon afterwards with a bored look.
"Yes, but that doesn't mean anything."
"Yeah, sure. It's been like what? Four years that y'all met?"
"Yes and I wasn't aware he Chan knew Minho. Then again, I never met any of Minho's friends. Also Chan and I only hung out at school, but it's weird because Minho attends the same one. Even you go there."
"Yeah, but I don't hang out with you at school either."
"True."
"Anyways, Yeon," Seul dismissed the current topic an went back to the previous one, "You can't hide in here forever. I have to run errands in a bit."
"What errands?"
"I need to get supplies for an assignment for one of my classes. It's due by the end of this week."
"Wow. Always last minute with you."
"Yeah, of course. You know how I roll. Anyways, do you wanna come with me then?"
"No." Yeon quickly declined with a disgusted look. "I hate shopping with you."
"Oh, c'mon. I hate going to places by myself."
"You're seriously just picking up stuff. It's different."
"Yeah, but I'll probably need help carrying the stuff."
"Nah. That's your fault. Should buy yourself one of those wagon things."
"You were supposed to get that for me for Christmas."
"Oh, right. I'll get it for you later."
"Mmhmm. I've been waiting for like two years now."
"You'll get it when you get it. Why not ask Minho's friends to help you out?"
"No. That's weird. I don't know them. Anyways, you wanna come or not?"
When Yeon and Seul were ready to leave the duo had walked out into the living room towards the door. Since Seul had walked out first, she happened to noticed one of Minho's friends who also spotted her before a goofy expression appeared on his face. The said male quickly rose from his spot on the floor before quickly making his way towards Seul. The rest of the boys curiously watched their friend stand up and headed towards the female duo. Seul with a small smirk pulled Yeon in front of her which resulted in the male to envelop the older sister instead within his embrace as his eyes had closed upon contact.
"Seul! I've missed you." He cooed with affection as Yeon silently freaked out and tried to squirm out of his hold upon the unexpected skinship from the random male.
"Sorry, but you got the wrong person." Yeon told him a second later causing the male to open his eyes and stared wide-eyed at Yeon apologetically.
"I'm so sorry."
Hyunjin instantly released Yeon causing her to stumble away from him before catching her balance and steadying herself a moment later. Hyunjin then faced the right person and pouted at her with sad eyes.
"That was not funny, Seul."
"Don't be such a baby." Seul said with a laugh. "You'll live, Hyunjin."
"You guys know each other?" Minho asked directing the question at his friend and little sister causing the two to turned their attention towards Minho.
"I'm her boyfriend." Hyunjin answered proudly with a large smile while Seul replied with a small smile and nonchalant tone. "He's a classmate."
Hyunjin's jaw dropped in disbelief as he faced his girlfriend.
"Did you just say I was your classmate and not your boyfriend?"
"Yeah. Technically, you are also my classmate." Seul stated indifferently before gesturing at a few of Minho's friends. "So is Felix, Seungmin, Jisung, and Jeongin."
"Hi, Seul!" The four greeted her happily while coming over to the female to give her hugs like they usually would do upon greeting each other.
"Hey, hey, that's my girlfriend. No touchy. Back away." Hyunjin huffed as he pushed his friends away with a playful smack once they got done hugging Seul and had move back to settling themselves in the living room again. "When did y'all become friends without me knowing?"
"Honestly, I didn't even know that y'all were friends. It's kinda weird now that I see all of you gathered in my home."
"You're telling me." Minho commented with a disgusted look.
Yeon shot Minho a look.
"Well, we wouldn't have to if you just didn't invite anyone over."
"Well, technically, I didn't, but now that I think about it you need friends, anyways."
"Wow, what a jerk. I have friends and it's weird if I become friends with your friends, too."
"My friends are a whole lot better than yours."
"You keep it up, Minho, I'ma tell Mom that it was you who made all the photo frames cracked and that it wasn't Soonie and Dori."
"Fine, Yeon, but I thought I could deal with one of them knowing my sister, but now five more of them knowing the other sister. Bleh. It's too much."
"You'll live. You have nine lives, anyways."
Seul brushed him off with a chuckle.
"Psh, I wish. Since when were you dating my friend, Seul?"
"I didn't know he was your friend. Actually, I've never met any of your friends until now."
"Yeah. I didn't know that this Seul was the sister you were talking about, Minho, that was the same Seul who was my girlfriend." Hyunjin commented as he clung onto Seul with a happy expression.
"Anyways," Seul interjected while letting her boyfriend hold her for a bit before directing her attention onto her brother, "Yeon and I are gonna go shopping right now and so we'll be back later."
"Oh, then buy me food." Minho tells them nonchalantly.
"Buy your own food." Yeon retorts with a narrow look at her brother. "Seul needs to buy school supplies and that's why I'm accompanying her since she hates going to places by herself."
"Oh. Is it for Mr. Heo's class?" Felix pipes from his spot. "I'll come, too, since I gotta buy stuff for his class, too."
"Go buy yourself." Hyunjin rejected the idea. "I'll go with Seul instead."
"Okay, cool. Go to the store with your boyfriend, Seul." Yeon stated with a smile. "I don't need to go now."
"Then you buy the food, Yeon." Minho repeated with a smirk. "You're the oldest and Dad left his card with you."
Yeon walked towards Minho while pulling out her father's credit card from one of her pockets and handed it to Minho.
"Just call delivery. I'll be busy."
"Doing what?"
"Watching Detective Pikachu."
"By yourself?" Minho asked with a judging expression.
Yeon cast him a 'duh' face.
"Yeah, obviously."
"Ohh, let's all go watch a movie together!" Jeongin exclaimed with a bright smile.
"I agree with Jeongin. Let's go watch a movie together." Jisung agreed with excited eyes. "We can finally watch Endgame."
"Hold up, Jisung,"  Seungmin interjected himself into the conversation, "I thought we were supposed to play games and hangout here?"
"We can do that another time, Woojin." A third person spoke wearing all black. "Let's all go watch Endgame since we're all free right now."
"Changbin's right." Felix said with a nod. "We can play games after watching Endgame."
"Ohh, yeah, I agree to what Felix says." Hyunjin inputted right after. "Let's do that instead."
"I'm going shopping, not to the movies." Seul stated giving her boyfriend a slightly annoyed look. "You can do that with your friends without me."
"We can go supplies shopping after the movies" He reasoned with a gentle smile.
Seul shrugged not minding it either way now that she thought about it.
"Sure, I guess."
"I'm pretty sure that Yeon said she wanted to watch Detective Pikachu and not Endgame." Chan reasoned giving them a curious look. "I don't think she wants to watch what we want to watch."
Everyone turned to face Yeon who at that moment had just turned to look over her shoulder to make sure that no one had noticed that she was trying to leave the place. She let out an embarrassed laugh upon being caught while catching the eye of Chan who shot her an amused smile who's been quiet this whole time.
"What?" She asked feeling like she had missed out on something.
"So what do you say, Yeon?" Chan asked her all of a sudden.
"Say to what?" She questioned now all confused upon not paying attention to their conversation earlier.
Chan smiled as he repeated the two options.
"I know that you want to see Detective Pikachu, but the other boys minus your brother wants to watch Endgame. So which one do you say to?"
"Hello. How may I help you?" The staff asked Yeon upon going up to the window at the cinemas although she glanced to her right upon seeing Chan standing there right beside her as well.
She ignored him and paid her attention onto the worker.
"Uh yeah, hi. Can I have eight tickets for Avengers: Endgame and two tickets for Detective Pikachu, please?"
The staff clarified the information before confirming the correct amount of tickets for said movies. Yeon handed her card towards the staff, but she also saw that Chan had also offered his as well. The staff looked between the two wondering which one to take. Yeon reached out her other hand to gently push Chan's arm away.
"This one, please." Yeon moved her card forward, but Chan did the same thing after getting his arm pushed away.
"Actually, this one instead please."
"Just choose whichever one." Yeon said in hopes that the staff would take her card in the end.
The staff didn't as Chan's card was taken instead to pay for the tickets. She shot him a look.
"Why did you do that?"
"My treat." He answered with a smile while taking back his card once the transaction went through.
Before Yeon could countered his reply, the staff spoke again.
"Here you go. Please enjoy the movie."
"Thank you and will do." Chan thanked the worker while taking the tickets.
He walked back to the group of nine as Yeon followed behind a bit reluctantly.
"So Yeon's watching Detective Pikachu and I'm assuming the other person watching it with her is you, Seul, right?"
Chan asked upon handing one of the two tickets for Detective Pikachu to Seul.
"Yup, that's me." Seul confirmed as she took the ticket from Chan. "Thank you."
"You're not gonna watch Endgame with me?" Hyunjin said to Seul with a pout.
"Nope," Seul shook her head with a smile, "But have fun with just the nine of you."
"Okay, but next time let's just come back when it's just the two of us."
"Sure, Hyunjin."
"Alright, lovebirds. Continue this another time when we're not here." Seungmin interjected a bit disgusted by his friend's lovey-dovey behavior with his girlfriend.
"I think it's cute to see Hyunjin like this." Chan commented with a dad-like smile.
"Okay, snacks time!" Changbin exclaimed happily as he rushed to the concession stand first with everyone else in tow.
Yeon told the group to order whatever they wanted and that she'll pay at the end when it was her turn. She even informed the other people behind them that they were a large group and to go to the other registers when they were free. After doing so, Yeon stood off to the side to hear everyone's order while memorizing all the items so that nothing was forgotten and everything ordered was there and be properly paid for.
Once everything was confirmed with everyone else getting a drink of their own while also sharing several of the snacks among them, Yeon finally stepped up to the cashier and put in her own order. It wasn't until a moment later when she realized that it was already paid for when a card and receipt was handed towards her as she hadn't had the chance to give her own card as payment. She stared at the items with a puzzled look before seeing a hand reach out to pluck them from the worker. Yeon looked over to see Chan smiling at her like earlier.
"When did you give them your card?" Yeon whispered to him while standing off to the side to await her drink and popcorn.
"Way before you went up just now and right after Jeongin." Chan replied with another smile.
"Chan, that was like six people ago." Yeon deadpanned with a frown.
"Cheer up, Yeon. It's fine. Remember, I told you it was my treat."
"But you already paid for the tickets, Chan. I don't get why you're treating in the first place."
"It's fine. C'mon, let's go catch up with the others."
Chan took her things with another smile while motioning his head to their large group who were waiting for them. Once again, Yeon reluctantly trailed after him with a sigh while becoming antsy with him already paying twice for their large group. Chan handed Yeon her items when she finally caught up to them.
"Okay. Since Detective Pikachu ends earlier than Endgame, we'll text you once it's over and meet up somewhere." Minho informed his sisters. "Sounds good?"
"Yeah." The sister's agreed with a nod and thumbs up.
"Okay. See ya later. Enjoy your movie!”
The two groups bid one another goodbye while parting different ways.
"Aww, Pikachu is so cute with his little hat and what not." Seul commented once she and Yeon left the show room. "That was a cute movie."
"I know right. He was seriously adorable." Yeon agreed with a chuckle. "I kinda expected what was gonna happen earlier in the movie because I read the synopsis of the game it was based on, but it was still unexpected at the end. So still good for a live adaptation of it. They did good."
"Yeah, they sure did. By the way, do you know what that one Pokemon was near the end. The pink one?"
"The pink one? Oh the big pink and fluffy one, right?"
"Yeah."
"Ahh, no, but I'll look it up later for you.'
"Okay, because I don't remember seeing that one and it was kinda cute. Reminded me of Jiggly Puff or that one that hangs out with Nurse Joy."
"It was cute and fluffy, but doesn't look like a Chansey or Blissey."
The duo stopped walking and stayed off to the side while looking about the mall. The pair wondered what they should do while waiting for the boys.
"So, what do you wanna do next?" Yeon asked her sister.
Seul shrugged before answering. "I dunno. Wanna get ice cream?"
"So, does Chan like you?" Seul asked Yeon once the duo settled at a table after ordering their ice cream.
Yeon almost choked on her ice cream, but recovered shortly afterwards.
"Why do you say that?"
"Because he paid for our tickets and food."
"What does that have to do with him liking me?"
"Because you didn't pay even though you wanted to."
"You saw?"
"Mmhmm."
Seul then cast her sister a mischievous smile.
"I think he really likes you. I just feel it in my jellies."
Yeon rolled her eyes at the mention of the phrase, but a small smile graced her lips upon hearing it.
"Oh, I'll take that as a sign that you like him."
"What sign?"
"You just smiled."
"I was smiling about the jellies part."
"Yeah, sure. Anyways, do you like him?"
"And if I do?"
"Nothing." Seul said with a shrug. "It just make sense."
Yeon rolled her eyes and directed the conversation elsewhere.
"So, your little boyfriend is a friend of Minho’s. How do you feel about that?"
"It is what it is, but it is a little weird."
"I don't blame you. Anyways, let's go buy you your school supplies so that we can leave once the boys are done with their movie."
"Okay."
Yeon and Seul had just stepped out of the store they were in to be bombarded by a worrying Minho and Hyunjin coming up to them upon having spotted the female pair. Well, Hyunjin worrying more about Seul than Yeon.
"Yah! I've been calling and messaging you like crazy. Why didn't you check your phone?" Hyunjin asked with an exasperated tone directed at Seul.
"Oh, my bad. It was in my bag. I forgot to take it off silent mode." Seul answered with a neutral tone not feeling bad whatsoever.
"At least you could've text us where you guys were gonna be." Minho reasoned as Yeon replied him with a weird look. "You could've tracked Seul's location since you both have iPhones."
"I did when I remembered that."
"Okay, there you go. We're fine."
Yeon then reached into her back pocket, pulled out her father's card, and offered it to Minho. Minho took it with a puzzled look.
"Why are you giving me this?"
"Use it or whatever. I'm going home."
"Why?"
"I'm tired."
"Oh, then feed my cats when you get home."
"Feed your own cats."
"I'm not going home, but you are."
"Only because I was originally only suppose to come help Seul with her school stuff." Yeon reasoned with an annoyed tone. "Also because I don't wanna do anything else now that I finally got the chance to watch Detective Pikachu. Basically, my day out is over now."
"I'll be nice, please."
"Fine. Just because I'm nice and a good sister."
"Thank you, Yeon." Minho thanked her sincerely and she dismissed him indifferently.
"Yeah, yeah. You're welcome."
"Oh, since you're going back home then, Yeon, can you take these back for me?" Seul asked while handing her sister all of her shopping bags.
"Why?"
"Hyunjin wants to go on a date now."
Yeon cast Hyunjin an amused look.
"Really?"
Hyunjin nodded with a shy look.
"If you don't mind?"
"Why would I? Go on your little date then."
Yeon took Seul's stuff within her grasps as Hyunjin happily dragged Seul away somewhere, but not before thanking Yeon.
"Thank you so much, Yeon! I owe you one!"
Yeon just wave them off not really caring if Hyunjin did owe her one or not. The rest of the group watched the pair until their figures disappeared from sight.
"He's so in love and it's disgusting." Jeongin commented with a slight shiver.
Felix placed an arm around Jeongin with a nod.
"That it is, but I feel sorry for Seul though since she has to deal with him majority of the time now."
"True, but at least we now don't have to deal with his affectionate ass." Jisung agreed with a relieved grin.
"Anyways," Yeon interjected as all the males' attention turned towards her, "Y'all have fun and make sure that Minho doesn't lose the card or his ass won't be able to care for his cats ever again. Okay, later!"
Yeon cast them one last smile with a small wave before swiftly turning around and walking away from the group of eight with a slight bounce to her steps. Yeon was casually humming to herself until she felt and heard another presence behind her. She rolled her eyes, but didn't turn back already knowing who it was.
"Y'know, you're just making it even more obvious, Bang Chan."
She heard Chan chuckled from behind her before he matched her pace and was now walking alongside her.
"Making what obvious?" Chan asked curiously while glancing over at her every now and then.
"How much you wanna bother me now that we're outside school."
"Is that so?"
"Mmhmm. First you paid for the tickets and then you paid for the snacks." She reminded him.
"I don't see how that's relevant though."
"It just is. Anyways, don't forget I remember how much you wanted to hangout outside of school, but couldn't."
"Because you always came up with an excuse on why we couldn't."
"Those weren't excuses." She shot him a slight glare before facing forward again. "They were legitimate reasons."
"Oh yeah, I'm sure they were." He agreed with a sarcastic and playful tone.
"They were." Yeon persisted casting him a look, but turning away shortly afterwards while mumbling to herself. "Jerk."
Chan laughed having caught the word, but didn't say anything as the pair excited the mall and were on their way to the metro station.
"So how was Detective Pikachu?" Chan asked Yeon a moment later.
"Good. It was a good movie. He reminded me of you." Yeon casually voiced out without thinking much of it.
Chan let out a disbelief laugh.
"Really? How?"
"Y'all are both cute one minute and then weird the next. Also, you're both clingy in a certain type of way that isn't openly obvious."
"So what you're saying is that you think I'm cute, weird, and clingy?"
"Basically."
"Wow, Yeon. I didn't know you saw me like that."
"There's a lot of things you don't know about me."
"I do know that you really enjoy the playlist I made for you on Spotify."
"Because you have good taste in music and it's versatile."
"Oh, thank you, Yeon." Chan thanked her as he wasn't expecting her to compliment him like that since he just wanted to tease her for fun.
"You're welcome. Thanks for making me one. It has helped a lot."
Chan suddenly turned shy, but still thanked Yeon while trying to brush if off.
"Ahh, thanks, but it's not a big deal. Glad that it helped out."
"Mmhmm."
The two grew quiet as they went about the metro station to find the right line to get them home and stepping into the right subway compartment. The two sat side by side one another before Yeon shot Chan a slightly annoyed look.
"So are you gonna accompany all the way home before you head back to the others?"
"Hmm, nope."
"Oh, then what are you gonna do after?"
"Chill with you until the others get back. Maybe we can watch a movie and relax."
"Oh?" Yeon let out with a suggestive tone until Chan slightly panicked with a chuckle and tried to explain himself.
"Ah, no, Yeon. I didn't mean it like that."
"Then how was it supposed to be meant, Chan?"
"Just chill and probably listen to music or watch a movie or whatever you feel like doing since it's your place. We can play games, too. Just those type of things."
Yeon laughed at Chan's flustered appearance as he explained himself before her laughter died down and she tiredly replied back to him.
"Anyways, Chan, I really don't wanna do anything with you or the others when they get back. I'm going to sleep when I get home."
"Aww, it's not even six yet and you're already retiring for the day?"
"Shut up, Bang Chan. I can do whatever I want. You're not my mom."
Yeon jerked her head away from him to lean it against the window like a child. Chan chuckled at her behavior before pulling his earbuds from his pockets and placing one airpod into his ear and the other in Yeon's ear. She jerked away from the item and looked at Chan weirdly before noticing what it was.
"Ahh, sorry, Chan, but I can't wear those. They don't fit in my ears properly." Yeon explained to him with an apologetic look. "They always pop out for some reason."
"Is that an excuse or an actual reason, Yeon?" Chan asked with an amused tone.
"It's a real reason." Yeon pouted without realizing it. "That's why I don't wear earbuds or something similar, but headphones instead."
"I don't think I believe you."
"I don't care if you do or not."
"C'mon, Yeon. It's a long ride and there's a new song I want you to listen to."
"Can't you just add it to the playlist?"
"Yes, but music always helps every situation and needs to be share constantly."
Chan still held out the other piece for her to take and Yeon let out a sigh before taking it in her left hand after moving the other bags to her right one.
"Fine, whatever you say, Chan."
Chan smiled giddily as he scrolled through his phone to find a song while Yeon placed the airpod into her ear, but kept her hand by her ear to hold the small item in place. She didn't want it to fall out along the ride and lose something that wasn't hers. The music softly started to fill into her left ear as Yeon's attention was drawn to the view passing by outside. She wanted to avoid looking at Chan since she felt like her face would reveal her shy demeanor upon being in their current position.
Chan fiddle with his phone some more before contently putting it away and glanced at Yeon a second later. He realized that she wasn't making up an excuse and was actually holding the airpod against her ear with her hand. As Yeon watched the view outside, Chan also glanced out the window to gaze at the now darkening view, but his eyes lingered every so often to admire Yeon beside him with a soft smile gracing his lips.
"Stop looking at me like that." Yeon mumbled only for Chan to hear upon noticing his gaze on her due to the reflection of the windows.
"Like what?" Chan mused not being phased about having been caught.
"Like you're admiring me or whatever."
Yeon tried to keep her tone neutral, but deep down inside she was becoming fluster by his constant stares and soft smiles. She still couldn't face him properly and only watched his reflection talk to her.
"What if I am?" Chan admitted still with the amused tone to his voice.
"Can we like not do this while riding the metro? It's weird."
"No, Yeon. It's easier because you can't run away."
Yeon swiftly faced him with a confused look.
"Run away from what? And don't tell me about it having to do something with my feelings for you, too, and all that lovey-dovey stuff."
"I didn't have to. You just did."
Yeon was about to deny it, but realized she did and closed her mouth. She decided to say something else to Chan instead before turning her gaze away from him.
"Shut up."
Chan laughed before speaking again when his laughter died down.
"So do you wanna watch a movie just the two of us next time?"
"Like in as a date?" Yeon asked for confirmation while turning her attention on to Chan.
"Yeah, like a date." Chan clarified.
"No."
"Why not?"
"Because then you'll pay again and I won't be able to do so."
"Okay then, how about this. We alternate every time we go out."
"You really just want an excuse to hang out with me don't you?"
"Mmhmm, but it's not really an excuse if we start dating because I don't need an excuse to see my girlfriend."
"Ew."
Yeon elbowed him away as her hands were unable to slap at him. Chan laughed as he nudged her playfully.
"I know that made your heart jumped a little despite how you reacted."
"Shut up, Bang Chan, and just let me suffer in peace."
"Why suffer alone when we can do it together, Yeon?"
"Because I don't think you'll live to see another."
"I'll take my chances."
"Ugh. I wished I never sat next to you on the first day we met."
"Oh why not? I only passed that class because you shared your notes with me."
"You passed just like everyone else in that class because I was the only one who actually took notes for it that made sense for y'all to comprehend and shared it."
"To which I'm totally grateful for, Yeon."
"Whatever. Don't talk to me until we get home."
"Aww, but I thought we were just growing closer to one another just now."
"I can't handle you right now."
"That's just mean, Yeon."
"I'm gonna move to another spot and let you suffer by yourself if you don't stop."
"Okay, okay."
Chan relented with a defeated laugh as Yeon glared at him, but it softened into a playful glare a moment later upon seeing Chan's smiling face.
"Fine, Chan. We can have a movie date this weekend." Yeon said already giving in to the male.
"At a theater or one of our places?"
"Wherever as long as no one else tags along."
"Okay. An actual movie theater where I'll pay it is then."
"I didn't mention about you paying, Chan."
"I know, Yeon." Chan said with a smug look as Yeon just shook her head knowing she wasn't going to win with this whole thing.
"Okay, yeah, sure, fine, whatever, Chan. You win."
Chan laughed upon hearing her response before speaking.
"It was never about winning, Yeon. It was just about you acknowledging me."
Yeon didn't respond with a shake of her head in disbelief of what Chan had just said, but with a slight smirk and on impulse she quickly hooked their arms together before the airpod in her ear could fall out. Placing her left hand against her ear again, Yeon faced the window to stare at the scenery once more with a soft smile upon her lips.
As for Chan, his heart thudded against his chest at Yeon's sudden skinship before glancing at her. He saw how shy she looked after doing so, but didn't say anything. Instead a slow smile crept onto his face as he once again quietly admired her profile and the view of the night sky as it passed on by.

Recent Reads: October 5, 2018
Happy October! Here’s a multifandom mish-mash, as usual. This list has some femslash, some podfic, four (4) Holmes variations, some History Boys (turns out I like the fic way more than the source material), and some Dirk Gently (despite doing a dedicated DGHDA list last month). I've recced some of these as one-offs, but it's nice to have them all in one place. Recs below--enjoy!
Holmes, Voiceless - @a-candle-for-sherlock - 5k, G, Holmes/Watson (ACD Sherlock Holmes) "On reading my stories, one might believe that Holmes and I have always been as we became, co-conspirators in everything. This was not at all the case. To begin with, I was a little in awe of him." No spoilers, but there's a line near the end of this fic that absolutely SLAYED me.
To know what's under the floor - beckaandzac, read by exmanhater - 4k, 21min, G, Charlie/Jo (Supernatural) "No one here is like me, Jo thinks, and she knows it’s what every eighteen year old on the planet thinks. And she also knows in her case it’s completely justified. But then she meets Charlie." A funny, sweet, slightly angsty sorta-AU starring Jo and Charlie as queer misfit college students.
My Heart Was Wrapped Up In Clover (The Night I Looked At You) - @dont-offend-the-bees 6k, T, Scripps/Posner (History Boys) "In which twenty years have passed, and it might even be long enough for Scripps and Posner to get their act together." Wonderful banter, and a lovely balance of regret and hopefulness.
The Only Way Out is Through (Or: How to be Almost, Mostly, Okay Again) - electricteatime | @kieren-fucking-walker - WIP, T, Dirk/Todd (DGHDA) "Even when he knows the truth somewhere deep inside it doesn’t mean he wants to acknowledge it. But, like all things, it’s only a matter of time." Fics in which Dirk works through his trauma are irresistible to me, and nobody does 'em like electricteatime.
A glimpse of something Holy, (where it wasn't meant to be.) - electricteatime - 610 words, G, Scripps/Posner (History Boys) "A look at longing, loss, and love. Two boys who keep looking, until finally something is found. A poem for some poetry loving nerds." A poem fic, and for this pairing, I'm here for it. Also, this is the second fic on this list to contain a devastatingly perfect turn of phrase.
For life's not a paragraph - @firstaudrina - 6k, M, Scripps/Posner (History Boys) "In the dying world I come from, quotation is a national vice. (Waugh)" The best kind of poignant.
By Any Other Name - Gray Cardinal (Gray_Cardinal) - 1k, G, Enola & Mycroft (Enola Holmes) "Sometime in the year since Enola Holmes reconciled with her brothers, Mycroft has clearly found time to familiarize himself with the language of flowers." The Enola Holmes books are absolutely my favorite Holmesian spinoff, and I love how this fic captures the reconciliation and understanding between her and Mycroft.
Lovely, Dark, and Deep - @hiddenlacuna - 3k, M, Sherlock/John, (BBC Sherlock AU) "'I soon realized that I must either leave the metropolis and rusticate somewhere in the country, or that I must make a complete alteration in my style of living.' - Arthur Conan Doyle, A Study in Scarlet. 'Upon consideration, as both choices before me were likely to require a similar amount of discomfort, I chose the former alternative.' - HiddenLacuna." Unusual, atmospheric, gorgeous.
The Part That Matters - @irisbleufic, WIP, E, Dirk/Todd (DGHDA) “'Find a boy?' Todd asked. 'Any boy? Would she be glad to know you found me?'” Y'all, irisbleufic is killin' it with this fun, satisfying fix-it fic.
March of the Degenerates - lotus_lizzy - 1k, T, Harry/Draco (HP) "An excerpt from Harry Potter's speech in 2003 during The March of the Degenerates." Short, defiant, memorable.
The Librarians of Baker Street - @missdaviswrites - 9k, E, Sherlock/John (BBC SherlockAU) "Sherlock is a cataloguer who's forced to work the reference desk once a week. Which he hates. Or at least, he used to hate it, until the library hired a new reference librarian. Guess who?" As a librarian, I'm very picky about library AUs, but from the moment I read "Sherlock is a cataloguer," I trusted this one.
Dearly Beloved - @mistyzeo - 20k, M, Holmes/Watson (ACD Sherlock Holmes) "CERTIFICATE OF MARRIAGE. This is to certify that on this TWENTY FIRST day of APRIL, 1896, DR JOHN H. WATSON, physician, 44, and MR SHERLOCK S. HOLMES, private detective, 42, of 221B BAKER STREET, LONDON were united in holy matrimony." This fic is a damn delight – it’s funny, charmingly anachronistic, and it relishes the accidental marriage trope.
Wind, Sand, Devotion - montparnasse, read by fire_juggler - 6k, 53min, T, Julie/Maddie (Code Name Verity) "Empty spaces want for filling, and Maddie Brodatt is overflowing." Code Name Verity is one of a VERY few books that made me cry, and this fic (as well as fire_juggler's beautiful performance) really captures the bravery and poignancy of the source material.
The Always Puzzle - @oldshrewsburyian - 6k, T, Joan & Sherlock (Elementary) "In which our intrepid consulting detectives experience tribulations, and emerge from them. There is opera. There are canon references. There is possibly an intolerable deal of sentiment." It’s the Joan & Sherlock hurt/comfort story that I never knew my heart needed! It’s also smart, moving, closely observed, AND it nails the dynamic of their partnership.
cross my heart (and hope to die) - @oneprotagonistshort - 3k, T, Dirk/Todd (DGHDA) "Dirk never understood why Todd always got mad at him after near-death experiences." I love this fic's depiction of these protective, secretly-soft idiots. There's also a joke in here that made me cackle like an idiot :)
Etta Candy's Last Stand - sanguinity - 2k, T, Etta/Diana (Wonder Woman film) "This is the way Etta is going to die: trapped between a bed and Diana Prince’s breasts." Bless Etta Candy and her goofy, awkward, romantic heart.
Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want - surprisinglyOK | @holisticdirkmuppet - 25k, T, Scripps/Posner (History Boys) "Scripps and Posner search for meaning in their life after sixth form, and end up finding each other." Well-characterized, emotive, and quietly cathartic.
Beyond Belief - thingswithwings - 14k, E, Peggy/Diana, (Wonder Woman & Agent Carter crossover) "Diana finds her for the first time in 1947, underneath a rather heavy pile of fallen masonry." Camaraderie (and sex) between two badass women.
Celebrate the Me Yet To Come - Vera (Vera_DragonMuse), read by @revolutionaryjo - 6k, 37min, M, Jillian/Erin (Ghostbusters 2016) "She is deeply strange and strangely deep. She looks in the void and the void blinks first. This is how Jillian Holtzman makes herself." Holtzmann is such a fantastically odd character, it's so enjoyable to dig into her past and her passions, especially when interpreted by RevolutionaryJo.
