all jokes aside what has ronnie radke done? I've heard a bunch of shit from rape accusations to homicide accomplice to like???? there's an article that im mad i can't find that started with the lines 'Assault. Animal abuse. Drama online. Ronnie Radke is in the news again, for all the reasons' or something like that and it haunts me but genuinely, how much of this shit is actually true? Deeply confused and very out of the loop over here.

okay well. this is what i know. so don't quote me on it but i hope it clears some things up?

he got jailed for wearing brass knuckles to a fight in a state that they were illegal in, he did NOT get jailed for killing a man, his friend however got time for self defense, because the guy who died was threatening them with a gun so Ronnies friend shot him. iirc.

the rape and domestic abuse accusations were dropped by the court because of the lack of evidence, so there's really no saying in how accurate or inaccurate they are, since we know how easily sa accusations get brushed to the side...

he threw a metal mic stand to the crowd and injured a fan in the crowd, he did pay for all the hospital expenses with no issues (i think) so that was solved. still a shitty thing to do and most venues now (or the one that it happened at) banned metal mic stands. that's less of a "kill him now" thing but still kinda funny and odd that it happened in the first place ?? y'know ??

i have NO clue about the animal abuse. i just know he has a dog called Lobster and that's it

Mostly what he's done in the past years that i'm aware of:

he's chronically online and can't take criticism whatsoever

he thinks everyone criticizing his music is attacking him so he has a fullon meltdown on his twitter (that got banned for harassment i think. imagine getting banned in elon musk era twt??)

he has really transphobic views, he went off about the ''trans women in bathrooms'' ''debate'' and was just NOT listening to anyone. he can NOT be wrong in ANY scenario. he will just attack you. people were very calmly trying to explain to him why he should reconsider his comments and he just.. went off on them. it was so stupid.

he bullied non binary teenagers (mostly fans) on tiktok for using they/them pronouns. this was like 2 years ago. i think his tiktok got deleted?

constantly getting into random arguments with other musicians he doesn't like. it's just unnecessary

he has also made ableist remarks about a girl in a wheelchair to her face at a meet and greet (allegedly), racist, homophobic and other transphobic comments, that i have not witnessed myself but i've heard from people online and i do believe he has made those because he's just... a handful.

he's just a massive cunt really but, knowing that he has quite a big platform it just pisses me off. as sb said on reddit, it's his massive ego, inability to take criticism, bigoted comments, and victim complex...

so he's very much a red pilled transphobe who kind of scares me because why are you as a 40 year old bullying children on tiktok and commenting about where trans women can piss. please get a hobby

I wasn't kidding when I said I spent an hour just trying to sketch out the pose for this drawing! Sometimes you just gotta go through like 8 sketch layers to figure out what you're doing.

I also ended up looking at two references--this one from The Pose Archive, which I traced the legs from after struggling for a while to get proportions that looked right, and a photo of myself that I asked my roommate to take so I could figure out what to do with the arms. The process got significantly faster when I remembered I could use references and started working with them.

I think it's good to show some of the behind-the-scenes of your artwork every now and then, both because process is cool and because it removes some of the sheen of "whoa, i could never make that." I know I get discouraged at times by artists who "make it look easy," when really I can't see all the time and hard work that went into making something. I don't want to create that feeling for anyone else!

So, here's a glimpse into how much I struggled to get the pose right, and below is the timelapse where you can see how much I fiddled with the colors until I had something I was happy with. It was probably at least two hours of "i am spending way too much time on this" and "why does this still not look right" before I got to a point where I started thinking, "wow, this looks good." But I got there eventually, and I'm really happy I stuck it out!

hm. i'm not sure how i want to present this but i have an upsetting headcanon/interpretation proposal about yusuke that i wanna make

i don't think i've ever seen anyone mention this kind of hc for yusuke, but i think there's a lot of elements to his character and backstory that suggest he might have been a victim of csa. i've been thinking about it for a while, and here's what i've got:

neglected kid (only friend was keiko, no father, mother is frequently drunk or hungover, when not absent; almost certainly lonely, and in need of emotional and physical care (i.e. feeding himself) from an adult. shitty school, shitty teachers, possibly already issues with attendance, discipline, etc (skipping, poor/weak relationships with teachers); vulnerable, no reliable adults to notice abuse or report abuse to. in short, he's the perfect victim for grooming)

deep, deep mistrust of power, authority, adults; manifests as quiet resentment, because he doesn't believe anything can truly be done about it (which may seem a bit odd at first from a character as reckless and feisty as yusuke. but in terms of systemic change and justice, he's given up on changing things. he views himself as helpless. also an insistence that adults won't listen even if you tell them what's wrong, that explaining yourself or the situation is useless. which suggests past experience with being shut down, ignored, etc with something so important and/OR so frequently that it's stuck with him)

poor sexual boundaries (you could argue this extends to conversational matters, but i'm mostly talking about his habit of harassing (if not assaulting) keiko, as well as his treatment of miyuki. i usually see this symptom mentioned regarding young children, but i can't imagine it just.. goes away as they get older)

emotionally closed off, as a result of being hurt or dismissed by those he depended on to help him. has a hard time being vulnerable with people

seems to expect authority figures to want to hurt him (even does this with koenma/king yama in ep 2). doesn't even flinch when mr iwamoto punches him in ep 6(?), as though that sort of physical violence is normal at school and/or with adults regarding him (because no one thinks to protect yusuke)

only way of defending himself, of asserting himself, etc, is physical (again, talking doesn't work in yusuke's mind, or within the narrative, in most cases). power is expressed through physical violence within yyh, and it starts before we even meet yusuke. how did he get so good at fighting? at violence? he needed to protect himself (not necessarily from his abuser, but perhaps future malicious actors, real or imagined). those with power use it to hurt others, and yusuke knows this, and since no one was there to protect him, he had to learn to do it himself. i think csa could fit into this presentation of the world, and of yusuke, extremely easily

emotionally volatile, lashes out

disregard for his life, well-being; passively suicidal

none of these factors are That strong on their own, but it's a pattern i can't quite shake. i think it's worth considering, anyway, though i don't know that i have any real ideas regarding further explorations of it. it's one possible explanation for some of his behavior, and it fits into our glimpses of yusuke's world pretty neatly. i think a lot of people might dismiss this initially because 1) he perpetuates sexual violence (and what victim would do that?) 2) he's a guy 3) he's not a meek or helpless character. he doesn't fit into a typical depiction of csa victim, as flawless or delicate. but there are survivors like yusuke out there. it's not so cut and dry. idk

like.. did he seek out attention out of desperation, or did it find him? did he finally find someone who was good to him and watch as, slowly, that relationship twisted into something wrong? or did he accept it, thinking himself more mature than he was, and needing some kind of attention, even if it was unhealthy? and did he try to tell someone? was the response delayed, or nonexistent? or did he not even try, because he was afraid (of his abuser, of being rejected on something so important, of getting in trouble), or simply thought it could not matter to anyone enough to change a thing? would he tell keiko? would he tell anyone?

i look at his hopelessness and see the trauma that caused it. csa does not Have to be a part of forming the yusuke we see. but it's not that much of a stretch, imo.

so i tried to keep their general appearances/colors intact while adding some actual personality (because i think the main problem with the original designs is that they feel like extras, not side characters).

Red: Zabrak orphan who grew up on Tatooine. 18 years old, was a member of the local insurgent group around the end of the empire era. Has a combo blaster/interrogation droid arm. Speeder is a repurposed version of Maul's speeder from phantom menace.

Blue: Human raised in the non-Tatooine parts of the Outer Rim. 23 years old, known assassin who worked for Jabba. Uses a scavenged magnaguard-type electrostaff. Has basically a version of the mandalorian helmet visors built into his face. Speeder is an abandoned scout trooper speeder.

Yellow: Tusken orphan from the clans around the podrace area. 19 years old, became a bounty hunter after his tribe (and bantha) were killed by the Pikes to expand spice routes. Has a Vader-style chest panel and rocket feet. Speeder is a custom pod attached to one of Sebulba's engines, with attached rancor teeth and horns from his late bantha.

Green: Human who grew up on Coruscant, but family fled the Empire to Tatooine around A New Hope. 21 years old, originally worked as a local enforcer for various Hutts. Has super battle droid arm & leg attachments. Speeder is stolen from local nikto gang.

one thing i think about is how sunny mustve dealt with his feelings of guilt. he was around 12 when mari died, meaning he was just a kid, and i think, especially at first, he'd have some very, very, very conflicting emotions and thoughts, one of them being the desire to "put the blame" on basil. "he's guilty too." it's irrational, of course, and i think he would understand that, and hate himself for these thoughts even more. sunny's mind would just come up with "excuses" like that to make the crushing feeling of guilt a bit more bearable, "it's all basil's fault we dealt with mari the way we did"

and i found the phrase/lyric "i don't wanna be friends" to be something that kind of captures that childish tone these thoughts of his could have sometimes, i think. not 'childish' as in 'immature', 'childish' as in he was just a goddamn kid when he had to process all of this and so he mightve expressed his feelings using the most simple words and concepts such as these ! just. ough. my poor son.
