It had started so well. Hell, it had even been fun for a while. One of the masters had rented Noah and instead of taking him to his suite at the castle they'd gone into town. That was different enough for Noah to appreciate in and of itself since he rarely found himself in town or getting to go there. Just the drive down was pretty nice, getting to look out the window and see everything since the master didn't seem interested in doing anything in the car. They'd gotten into town and the master's big, beautiful house and even the next couple hours had gone more or less according to plan. Admittedly, there was a little more pain than Noah would've liked since clearly this vampire had a sadistic bend to him but Noah had still gotten bitten and fucked so all good. He was a little roughed up afterwards but nothing he couldn't handle and figured he'd get taken back up to the Castle, looking forward again to the drive up.

That's when things had started to go sideways.

Instead of being finished with him, this asshole tied a rope to Noah's collar and decided to walk him around town like he was some sort of dog. He didn't appreciate that very much but humiliation came with being a slave sometimes so he rolled with it. He wasn't allowed to wear a shirt, either, but that bugged him least of all. The walk would have been fine but any time Noah tried to say anything, even if it was just a random comment, the vampire hit him. And not just a gentle tap, either, the first time he'd fully backhanded him across the face. That's when Noah got pissed. Not caring about consequences, he started to goad the vampire, dodging his hits as best he could, and would probably have physically fought back until the guy decided he needed to be publicly disciplined. So he'd dragged Noah to the park, tied him to a tree, and beat the shit out of him. Not exactly new territory for Noah but before he hadn't had a collar and his natural healing ability had been able to kick in. Not this time.

Noah must have blacked out because when he came to next, he was still tied to the tree but it was dark now. One of his eyes was swollen shut and he tensed immediately for more blows but it didn't seem like the vampire was still there. He couldn't see much and probably looked a mess but there seemed to be a small crowd around him, flashing blue and red lights nearby, and he lifted his head with some difficulty.

"The fuck's goin' on?" He mumbled, wincing because it hurt to talk. Damn. He hadn't felt this rough since...well, anyway. He hoped someone untied him from this tree soon. Feebly, he tried to pull at the restraints but it didn't do much good.

Now this was the kind of scene she was used to! Ember figured she’d have plenty to see the moment she stepped foot into the Golden Ward, but the Mermaid Cove Mall stuck out pretty vividly. Besides her concerts, nothing got teens swarming out of all control quite like the mall. Shops galore to spend their allowance, a food court full of restaurants to suit any palette, and plenty of space to chill with their friends, nobody but underpaid wannabe cops to try and stop whatever they wished to do. It was just the place to drum up interest in her music to make sure her revolution had its encore.

Her plans, however, would shift around a bit when something in particular caught her interest. Well, not so much something as someone. She was more used to seeing him in dorky spandex with his hair a flash of white rather than black, but she knew this form just as well. It was hard to forget the kid who’d pulled the plug on her plans twice, after all. If her powers were so weakened here, maybe his were too! She could at least torment him with her presence- there was no guarantee he knew she was weaker here too, after all.

Letting her feet lift just slightly off the ground- the one power she knew herself to still have- Ember drifted slowly across the way, making sure to stay out of sight from him. Notably, he seemed unaware of her presence, which, if she remembered his power set right, was a big point in favor of his powers being taken away too. She slipped through the crowds until she managed to get behind him, slowly dropping to the ground with a light clack of her boots.

“That ghost sense getting rusty, babypop?” A low chuckle escaped her. “Might wanna keep your head on a swivel.”

Collector held the makeshift sword, fashioned together out of cardboard paper towel rolls, in his left hand, the other end of it currently between King's upper chest and arm - as though the little Titan had been stabbed, and they looked down at him as he spoke.

❝ It is no use, beast, for I have caught you now, fair and square. ❞ They croak out in reply, voice slightly cracking from having to actively pitch it lower for their role in this game. They reach up with their free hand, tilting the paper mache crown atop their head to cast a dramatic shadow across their face - a move they had seen once while watching a human "anna-may" show, and smirked. ❝ It is with your puny weakness of death - this great triumph, that I can announce that my kingdom... has won. ❞

With that final sentence, he broke into a fit of giggles, dropping the cardboard sword and collapsing next to King in a heap, his paper crown toppling off his head. Once he had finally stopped laughing enough to compose himself, he rolled onto his back and grinned over at King.

I just wanna say bc I KNOW you're somewhere on tumblr, to the teenage girl who attended Take Your Kid To Work Day at an office building in Ontario, Canada circa 2013 and had a conversation with a middle aged woman in which you showed her your Black Veil Brides fanart and fanfics and ship content and told her about different fanfic tropes including a/b/o verse bc she happened to know who Panic! at The Disco and Fallout Boy were and thus you felt the need to show her your bandblr ship art, that was my fucking mother and I had to clarify all that to her including looking my mother in the eye and trying to explain a/b/o verse without sounding like a lunatic.

It's been 10 years and I still regularly sent evil energies in your direction. Since you'd be probably two years younger than me and thus legally an adult now, please know if this post reaches you it's on sight.

Hot take and not to be a killjoy or the shipping police but people treating Viktor or Jinx's aroace headcanons as if they were canon is not the revolutionary take people think it is.

Headcanons are always all right but we have to acknowledge that they are somehow damaging when they apply to stereotypes. It might not be the case for everyone but most of the time people unconsciously assume that disability/mental illness=asexuality. These headcanons erase the freedom of attraction from people who are already seen as unable to have sexual/romantic experiences/desires, when it's completely untrue and harmful.

You can headcanon Viktor and Jinx as aroace, but I have seen people changing their minds once Viktor is no longer disabled (s2 with all of his other forms) and Jinx is no longer as mentally ill (alternate universe Powder). And it speaks wonders of how people see these characters.

"I never thought about Jinx being able to feel romantic/sexual attraction until s2!" To believe she's actually only capable of that when she's not "damaged" is incredibly disturbing. Especially since Jinx has always had a bit of a flirty personality too.

"I've always seen Viktor as asexual, I don't know why!" That's fine. You can headcanon him as ace. But I believe there is a reason behind it, most of the time, if for some inexplicable reason the "vibes" of the disabled character are making you think he's ace.

I say all of this being aroaspec myself, by the way. Headcanon all you want but going to people's posts commenting how "it's weird for you that they have romantic/sexual plots when they're clearly aroace" is not a win at all. It's a headcanon, after all, and it should be treated as such, and that's fine. But it also is damaging to spread stereotypes like these.

Of course the disabled character is asexual. Of course the mentally ill character is aromantic. It's not as revolutionary as you might think, tbh.

Fandom is not activism and it's all right to have any headcanons you want BUT some of them are filled with damaging stuff and perhaps we should look into ourselves more before treating these assumptions as something canon.

Keeper -- a short comic about an angel meeting a robotic lighthouse keeper that doesn't know the world has already ended. Made in about 18 hours for a 24-hour 24-page* black and white comic challenge (that I arrived late to, ha.)

This was a really great learning experience as someone who's... never really made a completed comic. I ended up really attached to the story by the end of the project (possibly due to all-nighter deliriousness lol) and ultimately am very proud of what I made.There are some things I'd still like to change, particularly text placement, but in keeping with the spirit of the challenge I've elected to leave it as is.
