Not at all.

It's definitely a complicated dynamic, but none of it made me ever define wilmon relationship as toxic.

There are two specific moments that come to my mind to prove my point: 1) simon standing up for himself - i don’t want to be anyone’s secret - and yet not forcing wilhelm to come out, but giving him all the time and space he needed; 2) wille felt ready to let simon go and allow him to love someone else, despite it being the last thing he wanted to do and his current heartbreak, bc he thought it was for the best, for both of them to stop hurting.

People seem to forget about it but - they're so young. not facing life in the most mature and rational way is more than okay. they proved so many times to have such respect for each other’s boundaries tho. they're still learning a lot from each other, they’ve grown along with everything they’ve been through and always found their way back together eventually.

They’re still learning to communicate too and it’s the reason why they fight more than once, ending up speaking their truth and feelings in a not-so-comfortable way. there are no conflicts just for the sake of angst bc they're always constructive, also leading them both to make choices for themselves, and i personally love it.

It's the stressors and circumstances affecting them that have to be called toxic. can't wait for the wilmon endgame in s3 but i've already seen enough to say that they're meant to be - i really mean it.

if they didnt want to make byler endgame, there was no reason to confirm will's feelings for mike or "begin" a whole plotline for it on the SECOND TO LAST season. they could've just not made him like mike and not make mike act all weird and it wouldn't like.. change that much?

byler ADDS to the story, a lot - don't get me wrong. but we say that because of s4 byler.. without it, they genuinely could've just went another route and it've been okay.

s4 Is THE byler season. s4 recontextualizes byler in previous seasons, confirming it was romantic - specifically on will's end. it especially gives more context on the s3 fight, since there was a large crowd of people that didn't catch the pretty overt queer tones of "it's not my fault you don't like girls." mike's behavior at the airport and rink-o-mania turns the ending of s3 with mike an even more gay undertone.

could byler pass as close friends if they were like... not gay as shit together in s4? probably, there's a chance. (i still don't think mike and el would've lasted regardless of byler or no byler.)

so the fact will's feelings were chosen to be canon and were a literal plotline in s4, the second to last season, the same season el is feeling unloved by mike, just means it's gonna happen in the next and final season. i fear that's basic storytelling and media literacy

you know I have always been one of the first in lines fighting to defend Tae from that rumor, I'm 100% positive that is mediaplay still but something shifted these days as in yes it was mediaplay but ultimately Tae did choose to take part in that paparazzi walk( albeit he didn't look happy at all I think I have reasons to believe that even if he was somehow coerced he probably was made to feel like he had some negotiation power too) and honestly I guess I felt more adamant to defend him bc i saw how much he tried to fight the tide and separate himself from all of that ( the wv live in the airport, these insta pic changes being the last example etc and seeing ppl disrespecting his agency and his right to state himself his own truth really pissed off me a lot ) but I started to think these last days what's the point in him doing all of that when he agreed to do that walk and he must know what would happen otherwise why did he even agreed, what is he even fighting himself doing little things to separate himself from being associated to this person when he will forever be associated,for the gp and fandom itself and as you said once this will be in the historial of his live forever? By doing all of that it's like he made us, the fans who cared for him and were paying attention to him fr want to defend him too and literally fight air because there is nothing to defend when he did that walk, when the purpose of that walk being met. I'm not saying he did any of that with the purpose of having fans fighting on his name at all, I don't think so but that's what happened, I guess I'm feeling disappointed these days bc i see no need for him to even fight against all of this when this issues reached the levels it did when he chose to do the walk. I'm also disappointed bc i think anything he might do that would have been considered brave and important about his identity before loses weight completely now, him smooching jk's cheek on the party and uploading it, him being bold etc bc no one but a small group of ppl considered delusional by everyone will see this for what it is. He can do a lot now only bc no one it's going to take him/it seriously.

I used to be pissed by Holland behavior that one time but I even kinda can get the frustration now. Tae is safe or at least has reduced the risk at a minimum now to do whatever bc everyone thinks he dates women. And some ppl be crowing him as an LGBT icon when some other idols have actually exposed themselves honestly to a lot more without any security plan to fall back into. And that actually feels like being brave and doing something. Not making everyone who supports you look like a delusional clown and make the thought of you being queer laughable to most ppl. Moonbyul being a pretty good example of someone who has been direct and brave.

Im sorry I really needed to vent, I have loved Tae for a lot of time ( not that i dont love him now but sometimes i cant shake the disappointment and the distaste of not being able to enjoy his content without seeing him being constantly related to ppl I don't like at all) and I'm open to anyone making me feel different about this situation

Let me give you my perspective on this and maybe that will make you see things differently as well.

Tae is moving within certain boundaries. It is most likely that there are actual clauses in his contract that tell him what he can and cannot share publicly. That goes beyond plain saying that he is queer. That also goes for the level of queerness he can show through art and media. Basically I feel he is able to show queer media and art, but not adress it as such. Going beyond that would probably mean he’d be breaching his contract, which could lead to monetary penalties… and when it goes too far he could be kicked out of BTS (not that I think it would ever go that far). I think it’s possible that with this new contract, things have become more loose though. BH/Hybe doesn’t want to lose Tae, because he is one of the most popular members and losing any member would look bad. So I think there was some leverage there.

In my opinion it should not be underestimated how bad things still are for queer people in SK. Artists loose their careers over it stil. People like Holland are absolutely very brave and I hope within time there will be more and more like him. But you cannot compare one person’s choices with that of another’s. I think Tae possibly discovered his sexuality when he was already under contract with BH.. that would mean he had the choice to either hide, or to break his contract… leave BTS… and be left with a shitload of debt (because you don’t simply leave a contract). He would have no perspective of any career after that.. losing all his dreams and all chances of having any influence at all. It is an impossible choice maybe.. or maybe not.. I don’t know. Has he chosen to leave BH would his life have been easier, better? He would still have had to deal with severe homophobia. So I don’t think Tae had much options but to hide in the first case. It is not something he chose.. it was basically decided for him. Contracts are no fun anon, they basically chain them to the company in many many ways. I don’t think Tae ever had the option to be as open as Holland. And I think that is something he struggled with greatly. So if that walk was something he agreed to just because it would give him some more room to be authentic, I am absolutely not holding that against him. It doesn’t make him bad or whatever, it makes him someone who needs a bit of room to breathe.

In general I don’t feel Tae owes us much. Speaking for myself, I am here completely voluntarily and completely aware of forever being shit on by the rest of fandom. I’m of the opinion that both Tae and Jk aren’t actually fighting to be out and open.. so that probably makes my perspective on this different than yours. I think they’re just trying to live their lives and what we see of them is just stuff we pick up on.. because we pay attention. I always see myself as a bystander and not a participant in this. But.. that’s just me ofcourse.

So how did we end up here; Tae doing a walk with Jennie. Looking at it from a practical side, it was only one walk.. half an hour tops. If we assume he did agree to it and he wasn’t actually forced all the way, for him that was probably doable, and if he traded that for more freedom to be authentic.. to insert more queerness in his work (which is eventually what people will remember him by), then I think the trade probably looked worth it. Ultimately it wasn’t a fair choice ofcourse, because trading anything for freedom to be yourself is insane.. freedom should always be yours. But I do think the company possibly sold it that way.. and being used to having no freedom for years, maybe to Tae it did seem like a chance. It is ofcourse also possible they made him do this, but it’s not something I’m leaning towards personally.

It is not something Tae would’ve done/come up with himself. Tae didn’t go “yeah, I want to do a papwalk with Jennie for fame and attention”… people are right when they say he didn’t need that. He was not enthusiastic. And I think he was very over it all soon after.

The way I see it.. is that possibly Tae gave away a small part of himself to do something he felt is necessary in a broader way. His new mv is so important! To have such graphic display of queerness is so important! Especially from someone as famous as Tae. Imagine all the young queer fans he has seeing that! Tae knows what kind of influence he has. He has probably missed seeing representation like that himself when he was younger. I think this is what matters to him most and personally I just applaud him for that. Taennie will be nothing but a blimp on our radar in a few years, but his songs and mv’s… I think those will have an actual impact on many lives.

So today i was watching some of the debate between Rishi Sunak and Keir Starmer and noticed when the issue of trans rights came up they only focused on trans women and ive noticed this alot when talking about trans people and when people start going on about it and make excuses for their transphobia like saying they are trying to protect women only spaces and its never made sense to me why they never seem to have that much of a problem with trans men. So i thought could it be that there is a higher percentage of trans women over trans men. (This is very much not the case but it was interesting to look into nonetheless)

This lead me down a rabbit hole of statistics. (All data is taken from the UK 2021 census specifically about gender identity that i then put onto excell to be able to analyse it for myself) so overall i have found out that in 2021 then 0.54% who answered the question identified as a different sex than registered at birth and of this then trans men and trans women both were exactly 0.1% (of the overall data) so it was an even split. However when it was broken down into different areas of the uk i found it really interesting that all areas had an average of 0.48% identified with different sex than registered at birth but there is an outlier of london which has 0.91% this increases the average to 0.52% ive shown this in a bar graph comparing the different area of the uk.

Then after looking at this i looked at the breakdown of specific answers given as shown here

From this i learnt that trans men and women have the same percentage except in a few places were they is a marginally higher percentage of trans men by 0.01%.

Overall i have learnt that clearly there is a very marginal group of people that are trans and subsequently there is no statistical difference in the amount of trans men to trans women so it makes no sense why politicians care so much about trans women being who they are from a data point of view.

Im very sorry if ive worded this badly but i really wanted to talk about the data since i found it really interesting to find. This is were i found the data.

Remember everyone is valid and should be respected and given rights and its basic human decency to let them be who they are.

hmmmm yeah. there is an interview that gege says nanami wouldn’t want to get married while working as a sorcerer… i don’t think the same logic applies to satosugu, though. in their case, i think it’s a matter of they are aware of the career they chose and are also very in love with each other, imo being exposed to the dangers of being a sorcerer wouldn’t hold them back from being together/wanting to be together. they don’t struggle with how they feel towards the other, their feelings just make them lighter. so the logic to me is that they have already chosen a hard path, and how they feel wouldn’t change, so it’s better to go that way together. worrying about losing the other is a fact that would exist being in a relationship or not, they would struggle with that anyway, so i don’t think that would hold them back. and it’s natural of them to start dating and then living together/wanting to get married as they get older.

I can see the frustration with this joke, I get it a lot to and it’s so irritating, not only does it embarrass the woman but it usually puts me off of the character as well.

But I would also like to point out, like most tropes, there are good and bad ways of portraying this trope. And I’ve read some of the good ones where it is set up that it’s not trying to embarrass/humiliate the female character for assuming things but introducing the male character as some one different or understanding. For example; let’s say there’s an earlier scene with a different male character that goes, “I wouldn’t do that if I were you.”, girl “why?”, “A delicate woman such as yourself shouldn’t have to deal with such trifling things, etc, etc, insert unintended sexist thing here.” And that was the set up to show that was the norm for this character, then comes the trope with a reasonable explanation from so and so and it’s like a breath of fresh air. “I wouldn’t do that if I were you.”, “Why because I’m a girl?”, “No because I’m pretty sure that thing is about to collapse in on itself if a feather were to land on it.”, “Thank GOD I don’t have to deal with another egotistical sexist bastard” girl storms ahead, guy confusion “Your… welcome?”

I guess that last example isn’t really the norm, but when the woman reacts to that at the end of the trope I always thinks it’s hilarious, especially if the male character has no idea how to react now.

Point is, the trope can be very frustrating, especially recently when used, but that doesn’t mean I think the trope is awful or all dead so to speak. It can still be funny without being offensive to a single gender as a whole.

One of my least favourite dialogue tropes is when a man tells a woman, “You can’t do that” or “I wouldn’t do that if I were you” and she says, “Why? Because I’m a woman and therefore too weak to handle this/can’t take care of myself?” or something to that effect and the guy replies with, “No, because everyone who tried that ended up with a bullet in their brain” or something equally reasonable and not gender-specific that paints him as the rational not sexist guy and the woman as an irrational paranoid feminist who searches for sexism in everything. This whole scenario is built on the idea that sexism is over and women’s fears and suspicions don’t have a leg to stand on. It’s also self-congratulatory pseudofeminism bc it’s supposed to make the viewer/reader/listener feel that in this specific work of fiction women are treated respectfully and as equal with men.

There's something I've just realised with how Jinx, Isha, and Sevika communicate with each other.

None of them have to actually say words to each other, because they understand what the others saying through body language and looks.

Sevika and Jinx fight seamlessly alongside each other without calling out to each other.

The way they bicker without uttering a word, for example, when Sevika fully takes stock of how her arm look or when the music starts blasting and Jinx just responds with a shrug or a little dance.

Jinx thanked Isha by doing the finger gun towards her and Isha, understanding instantly that it was acknowledgement.

Jinx instructs Sevika on how to operate her new arm by just indicating the motion.

I love dynamics like this because it just shows the level of trust that all three have in each other, even though they know nothing about each other.

Jinx has been isolated from others for the past eight years, Silco has had Sevika work like a horse and, too frustrated with Jinx to really get to know her, and Isha is a new addition and non-verbal. But they still worked together perfectly.

Wilhelm and Simon's rooms

This is probably an already overdiscussed topic, but i've been requested to analyze it my own way, so here i am!

• Colors •

It's the most vivid aspect to notice in the show when it comes to comparing their bedrooms. the coloring reflects the different worlds they're part of in such a clever way.

The warmer tones of simon's room because it is, for a fact, his cozy room: he's at home, living with his family and inviting his best friends over, he managed to be creative and express his true self making those walls, literally every corner of it, speak for and of himself - things he loves and he's passionate about.

His room is probably simon's safest place but also we, as an audience, get to know a lot about his character just by walking in and looking at it.

The cold tones of wilhelm's room shows the complete opposite instead: it's very 'crown prince' shaped and communicates so little about the real wille. He changed room once, got a bigger one to be more comfortable, but he never really had the chance to make it his own. It's cold and plain in tones but in its aesthetic too, in how everything is placed and the presence of very few personal elements - the frog, erik's picture and red lights. it feels empty in a lot of ways.

• Appearance •

I call it 'appearance' but what i mean is basically how wille's mental and emotional state seem to affect his room's space most of the times: also tidy and clean, but all over the place whenever he's confused or overwhelmed. It's in those messy moments the real wilhelm stands out tho: they're the clearest representation of what he's currently feeling and going through, whether it's sadness, anxiety, anger or else - like taking a picture of his state of mind. it is brilliant.

In simon's room i didn't see much of a difference, apart from the messier nightstand and desk in season two, but still not as impactful as wille at least. The fish tank is the main thing i focused on: who would have thought that the choice to turn a tank could mean so much? - here's a previous post where i briefly talk about it.

• Red lights •

The scene in which red lights are lit in both of their rooms, not long before wilhelm's speech and simon's confession - this is why i feel like it is significant.

Simon's lying on the bed looking at the sparkling lamp (the first object wille touched when he was there) and wilhelm who lyes down too with his thoughts running. They are kind of mirroring and thinking about each other: red lights that warm up the atmosphere, radiating a sense of comfort but internal conflict at the same time, can't be just a coincidence.

so much stuff. indians haven't made history in f1, but i know we will one day. because all these people have given the future generations motivation and hope. and i know the legacy will be carried.

so many japanese people who love yuki, the amount of chinese people that cried seeing zhou, all the love alex gets.. as an Indian, Asian - it makes me so happy. f1 is not just for the majority - the minority has made, is making, and will make history.

people don't understand how valuable it is to have a driver from your country in a sport you love. people that hate on checo or zhou or so many other drivers dont understand the DIFFERENCE THEY'RE MAKING for the next generation. its not about the place they finish, its not about the points they score, its about seeing YOURSELF out there. seeing someone LIKE YOU doing something so great and i think thats so. fucking. beautiful.

But, you know, if a team makes it to the end, there can only be one.

And we've seen that except... they aren't the type to give the win to the other, they worked too hard, too proud of their skills, and it would feel like a disservice to the other to try and hand it off.

They aren't the type to sling bloody punches at each other in a cactus ring, begging for apologies and singing their sorrows.

They aren't the type to promise an honored deal with crossed fingers only to turn and twist and laugh maniacally as they betray due to the desperation of time ticking inevitably away

They aren't the type to twist bitterly and finally end up together, one reaching only finally so they aren't alone for the other to throw it away in what they think is what is wanted

They aren't the type to dance around and ignore hearing that the other doesn't want the win, ignoring it because they don't want to be alone only for the other to die silently without realizing and left wondering

Either of them could win. Statistically Joel has beaten Gem more than she has him, but that doesn't mean she can't win, Joel gets flustered easy. Joel tends to get more reckless and take the long shot that pays off, but Gem tends to flounder if caught off guard.

I think, if they are at the end there will be no promises or honor duels or gifted or taken wins, I think they'll just lunge. Not like a desperate wolf bites, but as an acknowledgement to who they are as people, bloodthirsty and fun and wanting to win. Maybe they will, at best, mention fight club and maybe negotiate the same rules, leather or no armor with wooden swords, but this is not an honor battle of forced apart partners nor is it a grief stricken apology to make the game end.

And I think one of them will die laughing as they go. Maybe disappointed but proud because they almost got the other and they did it together
