Moscow is mourning today. This night, more than 60 lives were taken by camouflaged men in Crocus City Hall. 3 of them are children. There are more than 120 people hospitalised. More can die. All of them were innocent civillians.

So today i was watching some of the debate between Rishi Sunak and Keir Starmer and noticed when the issue of trans rights came up they only focused on trans women and ive noticed this alot when talking about trans people and when people start going on about it and make excuses for their transphobia like saying they are trying to protect women only spaces and its never made sense to me why they never seem to have that much of a problem with trans men. So i thought could it be that there is a higher percentage of trans women over trans men. (This is very much not the case but it was interesting to look into nonetheless)

This lead me down a rabbit hole of statistics. (All data is taken from the UK 2021 census specifically about gender identity that i then put onto excell to be able to analyse it for myself) so overall i have found out that in 2021 then 0.54% who answered the question identified as a different sex than registered at birth and of this then trans men and trans women both were exactly 0.1% (of the overall data) so it was an even split. However when it was broken down into different areas of the uk i found it really interesting that all areas had an average of 0.48% identified with different sex than registered at birth but there is an outlier of london which has 0.91% this increases the average to 0.52% ive shown this in a bar graph comparing the different area of the uk.

Then after looking at this i looked at the breakdown of specific answers given as shown here

From this i learnt that trans men and women have the same percentage except in a few places were they is a marginally higher percentage of trans men by 0.01%.

Overall i have learnt that clearly there is a very marginal group of people that are trans and subsequently there is no statistical difference in the amount of trans men to trans women so it makes no sense why politicians care so much about trans women being who they are from a data point of view.

Im very sorry if ive worded this badly but i really wanted to talk about the data since i found it really interesting to find. This is were i found the data.

Remember everyone is valid and should be respected and given rights and its basic human decency to let them be who they are.

out of all of the songs hyunjin have ever written, i think i like ice cream the most. using ice cream as a metaphor is clever, and the wordplay is so good. “ice to the cream, i see ice as a cream” like?? instead of just saying that the person has melted for him, i like how he says “i see ice as a cream.” i feel like it’s a clever twist. i also like the lyrics — “my love account book started because i like you, i checked how much i wrote today.” i find these lines pretty hehe.

as for love untold, who hurt him dawg 😭 “broken shapes of pastel, it’s like a group of different colours” i think the poetry he keeps reading every night is definitely paying off because this man’s similes are popping off 🗣

The ferns at least tend to be labeled right because they're actually really popular. Right now we've got like a thousand Boston ferns and last I saw sold out of the Kim Queens but tons of people ask for them. The real pain comes from the tiny tropicals. I can ID snake plants and pothos in there but we've got like five other viney things and assorted tall grasses under the "Assorted Tropicals" and I just do not know enough about them to figure out what they are.

Not to go all Pamela Ives here but I'm realizing just how little people care about nature and plants except as decoration with no thoughts to the fact that it's alive. Basically my job is turning into an exercise in radicalization because it feels like a puppy mill but plants.

Okay I’m sorry but I feel like people are missing the point of Jace’s speech!!! The whole point of this conversation is about his insecurities and how he views his bastardy.

Do I think he should be insulting the small folk? No. But I don’t think you guys understand- people viewing Jace and his siblings as bastards and unworthy of the throne is quite literally now where introduced to Joffrey and him.

The topic of being a bastard is so prominent to his character! Throughout the first season Jace is constantly reminded that he’s a bastard and how ‘strong’ he is. Him being a bastard has caused problems in the past as well.

—> During the fight with Aemond, he’s reminded of Harwin being dead and also Aemond calling Jace a bastard (fight inevitable led to Luke cutting out Aemonds eye —> Aemond killing Luke).

—> During the aftermath of this fight, the topic of Luke and Jace being bastard is really prominent and it’s being thrown around the room for everyone to see and hear. I can’t imagine how embarrassing it must be for your cousins to be like “just look at them, everyone already knows”.

—> having to watch his brother fight for his legitimacy in front of the entire court room. Seeing a man call your mother a whore, and than watching that same man be beheaded (and he’s legally ur uncle too lol).

—> Him asking Rhaenyra with so much contempt if he was a bastard.

There is more examples of his, Luke and Joffs parentage being consistently mentioned throughout the show but those are some examples.

So, here is Jace who has quite literally watched his, his family and especially his mothers claim be put in question and almost taken away because of his existence- and than here he is seeing other Targaryen bastards being able to claim a dragon.

He even says it during the argument, that him having a dragon makes his claim legitimate. But seeing all these other people claim a dragon, well what does it mean?? This is backed up in season one when Alicent mentions to Viserys (or maybe Cole? My memories a bit foggy) that she’s surprised his dragon even hatched. Why?? Because he’s a bastard

I don’t think argument comes from hatred towards the small folk (although he used some colourful language…), I think it comes from so much built up resentment all coming out. I mean, what claim does he even have??? Wouldn’t everyone else also have a claim???

For so long he’s been so insecure about himself, about his future and about how others view him. This is really just him releasing his pent up anger towards a situation that’s never been able to leave him alone.

while it’s perfectly fine to have your own headcanons that are non-canon compliant — by all means, go wild. recognizing pieces of yourselves in fictional characters can be a very healing and validating experience. this is nonetheless a casual, well-intentioned reminder that gale, in fact, does not have bpd.

bpd is a pervasive pattern of instability affecting interpersonal relationships, self-image, and mood. the disorder is marked by impulsivity beginning in early adulthood and is present in a variety of contexts. a diagnosis requires at least 5 of the following 9 criteria to be met:

Fear of abandonment

Unstable or changing relationships

Unstable self-image; struggles with identity or sense of self

Impulsive or self-damaging behaviors (e.g., excessive spending, unsafe sex, substance abuse, reckless driving, binge eating).

Suicidal behavior or self-injury

Varied or random mood swings

Constant feelings of worthlessness or sadness

Problems with anger, including frequent loss of temper or physical fights

Stress-related paranoia or loss of contact with reality

i highlighted the criteria that do apply to gale in one way or another in a pretty purple.

i personally believe that it’s rather harmful to equate his relationship with mystra with her being “his fp”. she is a deity, his goddess, and the source of his powers, who is in in full control of the magic he wields.

gale: mystra commands all magic. salvation, if such a thing exists, is hers to bestow or withhold.

gale has been effectively groomed and conditioned to serve and revere her at every turn since early childhood. imo this comparison really undermines a lot of crucial points in gale’s story that deal with his overall trauma and abuse. after all, you wouldn’t call shar sh*dowhe*rt’s fp either.

gale doesn’t revile mystra, nor does he commit benevolent deeds solely motivated by the secret hope that she will somehow notice and take him back. when you meet gale in the game he has already fully come to terms with the fact that he has been abandoned by mystra with no hope of reconciliation whatsoever. he also had some very fitting lines in ea regarding this topic that i'm sad haven't been repurposed in the full release in some way.

gale: [the tadpoles] don't know that some things are impossible. they don't know that... they don't know. player: what is impossible about what you're being shown? gale: forgiveness. gale: it is mystra i see. and yet it cannot be her. there was a time when i would have believed - but no longer. gale: suffice it to say she would not bestow upon me the favors promised in these dreams. that is how i know they are delusions.

he has already reached the stage of acceptance. moreover, gale only starts to realize that mystra might have been in the wrong for requesting his death once the tadpole squad & tav speak some sense into him. and even then he doesn’t ever show that his emotions regarding mystra are anywhere along those lines. he is instead rightfully angered that she only saw value in his death, after he had been worshipping her loyally for years.

gale: i worshipped mystra loyally for years, and in that time she granted me the barest sliver of the power i was ready to wield. gale: even with the fate of the world at stake, she had little more to offer me than the means of blowing myself up at a more convenient time. she's done nothing to help us.

gale: you abandoned me in my hour of greatest need. i had no obligation to help you in yours. gale: because you had no right to ask that of me. you cast me out, remember?

gale doesn’t display rapid changes in mood either. he is a character who is generally very composed and has been known to remain nonchalant even in the face of utter horror. tim downie himself even commented on this once. source: [x]

the only instance i can think of is his sudden switch from resigned-to-death to utter-eye-sparkling-enthusiasm once he spots the crown of karsus. apart from crucial story reasons that i won’t touch upon in this post, i’d also like to add that it’s a rather common phenomenon for people who have just barely survived a suicide attempt to suddenly be filled with zeal and unbridled energy. he doesn't display impulsivity without thorough consideration when it comes to its acquisition either. he considers this a golden opportunity and is positively enthusiastic and elated that this might prove an alternative to him ending up in a cloud of netherese smoke. nonetheless, he knows what he is doing. evident in him actually succeeding in ascending in one of his endings.

gale: this is no passing whim, trust me. if i can obtain that crown, it will affect us all. it is not a decision i'll take lightly. gale: it's our future that i'm thinking of - we can't rely on anyone else to do it for us. gale: for now - we've learned all we can.

neither are his relationships that we do know of (namely elminster, tara, and morena) frequently changing. they are marked by years of mutual respect, care, and consistency. there is nothing unstable about them. while it's important to note that his relationship with tav is still in its honeymoon stages during the main game, there is no inclination of any push-and-pull dynamic between them whatsoever.

gale isn’t preoccupied with keeping up some sort of benevolent act in order to win (back) affection — he genuinely IS a good person and he proves this at every turn. moreover, to have a tressym become your familiar you must be of Good alignment.

there is never a moment where his ideals or alignment suddenly change. in fact, i’d argue that he and wyll are most consistent in this regard when compared to the rest of the companions. gale makes his moral standpoint very clear from the beginning on and also explicitly states that he believes that in order to survive this entire ordeal it would be selfish of him if he wouldn’t be willing to compromise on his morals. this isn’t a sudden bout of ✨muahahaha wizard hubris✨ that he barely contained to hold in before, this is yet another act of selflessness — it is what he’s willing to do for the group and subsequently, the welfare of faerun.

player: i love unsavoury things. don't feel guilty on my account. gale: that's good to know. although i should say i do what i do out of a sense of utility and pragmatism, not a love of the unsavoury. gale: we're up against the greatest threat faerun has ever faced. i don't mind getting my hands dirty if it gives us a better chance of surviving. gale: whatever advantage i can gain for us. i will. and i refuse to feel guilty for it, no matter how much mystra's chidings might echo in my skull.

this is him, once again trying to be useful in whatever way he can. to give them an advantage, a slither of hope against seemingly impossible odds, so they might make it out of this in one piece. gale wouldn’t approve of those actions under normal circumstances, but their predicament is as far from any definition of “normal” as it can get.

gale is no fool, he realizes this is essentially about survival. he knows that he has no option left other than to tolerate, which is why he can be convinced to not immediately depart tav’s company even if they choose to commit atrocities. this is no character flaw of his or him displaying a previously dormant openness for cruelty, this is about recognizing the necessity.

player: you don't stand a chance alone. you're free to go. i dare you. gale: gods damn you - you're right. few things are more powerful than the will to live.

gale: i thought the orb to be the greatest of my sins, but i see now that there are darker depths to which i might yet sink. you may be content to sink into that abyss, but i assure you - i am not.

gale doesn’t lead a split existence. he has a very strong sense of identity. he knows what he wants, what he doesn’t want and he isn’t shy in expressing his boundaries either. which he has especially shown when it comes to his relationship with tav. i originally had intended to touch upon this in another post entirely but: i firmly believe his entire Gale of Waterdeep™ persona is more of a performance than him struggling to find a sense of identity and trying them on for size. it is an intentional decision to separate gale dekarios from the great wizard of waterdeep, to create distance and make sure his family name remains untarnished in case things should ever go sideways.

gale: i agree. and on the plus side, if i get myself into any truly cataclysmic straits during the remainder of our journey, my family name will go untarnished.

there is also a deep-rooted feeling of unworthiness and his firm belief that love and praise are conditional resources that he will only be granted through his talents alone, naturally. presenting himself as gale dekarios, the man, would mean highlighting his shortcomings and very human flaws, while distracting from the aspects of himself that are deemed praiseworthy, the ones that actually matter: his magical prowess.

i personally believe that part of the beauty of gale’s story is him realizing just how “little” it takes for him to be truly content. he gets his happy ending, with someone at his side who truly sees him, understands him and unabashedly commits to him. they worship and adore him in return — and it is well deserved. he isn’t reduced to be constantly and restlessly searching for some unattainable ideal to fill the gaping void within himself. he doesn’t secretly thirst for more power still or believes that in being with tav he is settling for something. instead, he is finally happy to just be. be and be accepted. teaching a class of unruly wizards and coming home to his spouse each day already fulfills him.

gale: that's how i feel with you - content. it's a rather unfamiliar feeling, i must say. not something gale of waterdeep ever craved.

even if he doesn’t pursue a romance with tav, he reaches a realization of “oh, it appears i am not irredeemably flawed and only able to reach true redemption through my own death. what i needed was actually with me all along.” throughout their journey and through his friend's support. i think that’s a very powerful and comforting message. he is very well capable of finding peace within himself.

devnotes: his default state is that he returned to waterdeep and became a professor of illusory magic at his former school, blackstaff academy. general vibe here is that this is a gale who's found peace with himself - he's a great teacher, one his students are mostly in awe of.

to repeat myself: sharing your headcanons is all in good fun, nor should you ever be discouraged from doing so. this is your personal tumblr experience, after all. but i personally think we should be mindful of unintentionally perpetuating negative stereotypes, such as narcissism being a general indicator or being deemed a classic depiction of bpd. i think we can all agree that the continuous longing for acceptance, connection, praise, and approval is something we all have in common deep down, regardless of whatever disorder we may have. In this person's case, she knew very little about wool production and just assumed that shearing was painful/harmful or that sheep were kept in cruel conditions.

I've found that a lot of people who aren't vegans still hold that assumption that all animal work is bad. My father drives a mule carriage and has people who don't know a mule from a horse come by all the time to tell him that he's a horrible person and his "horse" is sad and thirsty (there's water right in front of them). Moving to large factory farms where people don't see what goes into raising animals has left people detached from the cruelty that goes into some meat production, but it's also left people detached from any idea of what healthy animal husbandry looks like.

was just reminded of when my roommate's friend came to visit and saw me spinning wool and asked me "oh, do you feel like that's ethical?" and I just looked at the wool in my hands.

Shigaraki Kinktober - Day 4 - Hate Sex and Bondage

Shigaraki has very few memories of spending time with animals.

Sensei never kept any around the house; he always said they were too much work to train, with little to no reward. The few times he was forced to leave his room as a teenager and venture into the streets to get groceries, he might have seen a dog, or two, maybe some squirrels. Nothing more.

But he has this distinct image in his mind of an afternoon spent at Garaki's lab, looking over with boredom at vials of bizarre substances while the doctor talked to Sensei about things that didn’t interest him at all back then. He's maybe nine in the memory, tall enough to see over the counter, but not enough to reach anything with his scrawny arms and still decidedly unpredictable hands.

But the one thing that did catch his eye in the lab was a cage. It was small, smaller than a shoe box, or a box of cookies. Inside, there was a small rat looking rather in bad shape: its fur was dull, patchy, with bloodied marks over its small body. Its beady eyes stared right back at Shigaraki, pleading so desperately to be let free, yet filled with unforgiving anger he recognized well.

“What did the rat do to be held like that?” he asked.

The two men paused their conversation, and the doctor laughed, an unpleasent, gurgling noise, while Sensei only smiled.

“Oh, Tomura, the poor rat didn't do anything,” Garaki had explained with a chuckle, walking over to the cage. He poked a fat finger between the metal bars, just enough for the rat to smell him but not close enough to bite him. It had felt oddly cruel. “It was just unfortunate enough to be exactly what I needed for my experiments. Nothing more, nothing less.”

The memory is coming back to him so vividly, he thinks, because you look exactly like that rat in its cage.

“Did you decide to start talking yet?” he asks you once again.

“Fuck you,” you scowl at him, your eyes so dark he has to wonder if anyone had ever looked like him with such hatred and lived to tell the tale. “I'll never tell you anything.”

You spit at him from the chair you're bound to, narrowly missing his shoe by a few inches. He tsks in disappointment, bending down to collect the liquid off the dirty floor with his index. It shines under the flickering neon light, and he smiles at the look of utter disgust on your face.

“It's not a good idea to waste your saliva like that. Who knows when’s the next time I'll feel like giving you water…”

He gets closer to you, wagging the wet finger close to your plump lips. You're almost snarling at him.

“Wanna take it back?” he coos mockingly. He toys with your bottom lip, forcing his digit into your warm mouth. Not a second passes before you bite down on it, hard, and he curses as he pulls his hand back to safety. The wound is shallow, but he's got a perfect print of your teeth on his skin, now glowing with a mixture of saliva and blood. You look at him triumphantly, but you lose your bravado the second he starts chuckling. Soon, he's openly laughing, holding onto the finger in absolute delight at your reaction.

“C'mon, is that all you got?” he manages to snicker in between breathless laughter. “You can't even bite like a real sewer rat! No wonder hero society is collapsing.”

You shake your chair angrily, trying to get out of your restraints. It's no use, and you both know it: the cold metal chain binds your hands, legs, and neck firmly in place, making it impossible for you to use your quirk. Attached like this, still all dressed up in your hero outfit, you look like a children's doll still in her box, bound with tie wrap until its owner decides to free it.

“I got an idea,” you snap at him. “How about you uncuff me and I can show you just how much I can bite?”

“Tempting,” he admits with a crooked grin, “but I have a better idea, hero.”

He pets your hair with his bloodied hand like a twisted parody of affection, and you recoil from the touch. But the chain doesn't let you get far, and you grit your teeth as he keeps caressing your hair with false compassion.

“How about you stay like that, all tied up like a nice little present for me, and I have fun with you until you tell me what I want to know?”

You scoff, throwing him a defiant smile that makes his pants feel tighter. He loves it when they have some fight in them.

“You're even more pathetic than the UA reports said,” you taunt him, looking straight into his eyes; a cornered animal trying to act like it's the predator. “Is this the only way you can get anyone to fuck you?”

He doesn't take the bait; he knows he's still in control. Slowly, he gets on his knees, and rests his head against your thighs, looking at you from under his eyelashes with a smirk. The restraints are too tight for you to hit him with the force of your knee, and you seem to have realized it, so you stay nice and put, looking down at him with fiery loathing. Good.

“How about we make it a game,” he suggests, raspy voice syrupy sweet, “so we both get something we want out of it. If I can't make you cum, you're free to go. I'll even drive you back to UA myself. Isn't that nice of me?”

He's broken that bold protective shell you’ve put around yourself, he can tell: even though your eyebrows are still furrowed and your eyes are still throwing him daggers, there's a glimmer of something else there. You're considering it.

“But if you do cum, and I win,” he continues, feeling high off his own words, “then I'm not letting you go until I want to let you go. Even if you talk. And that might be a long, long time…”

“How do I know you'll keep your word?” you ask distrustfully.

You stay silent for a few seconds, weighing your options. He knows what you'll say before you even open your mouth.

“Deal,” you accept, lips straightned in a thin line. Your serious game face. The excitement is coursing through his veins like adrenaline; he's got you.

He doesn't give you a warning when he rips the bottom of your costume, revealing your tantalizingly pretty pussy.

“Hey!” you hiss, obviously displeased he's ruined your costume.

“No panties underneath,” he comments, ignoring your protest. “I really have to wonder what kind of hero you are…”

A first proding finger starts tracing your warmth, not quite pushing into your hole.

He's palming himself with his free hand, getting off how badly you're trying to maintain your hero dignity.

He pumps his fingers in faster, rougher, and you can't help but gasp. You close your eyes, in what he can only assume is a mixture of pleasure and utter embarrassment.

There are a lot of things from the books that confirm things in the canon, which makes sense. I understand how it could make things frustrating because of the books not actually being about the established human characters, but about representations of them, and it can cause confusion. Timeline videos and books summaries though are very easy to find and I have used them myself for context for the games, etc.

Because of this, (and I dont really want to bring up the movie, because it hasn't been released yet) the argument that Cawthon/the production team have given for the movie not being as lore-based as it could've been doesn't make sense to me? Like it is really simple to just figure out at least some of game lore before the movie so it doesn't make sense to me why they have (seemingly) made it a completely different thing entirely to keep it more accessible for audiences who "dont know the lore" beforehand. But this is a whole other argument entirely. Feel free to disagree with me, as I said, the movie hasn't come out yet, and I could be pleasantly surprised with how much is consistent with game lore.

i know that a lot of people are upset about the books suddenly being canon to the fnaf games + you need to read the books to understand the games story but lets be real here. out of any video game fnaf should be allowed to do that. no matter if the books are canon or not to understand the story youd have to do research and watch a timeline video or something. fnaf has always been that way. fnaf has always been about piecing together the story and doing deep dives/researching things to find lore. you have to care to fully understand the story and do (a small amount of) research but if you dont then you already just dont care and the story doesnt matter to you. you know?

plus it takes like 2 seconds to figure that stuff out. you already have to watch a timeline video to understand the fnaf story if you dont know already and then youll just be told about it. i just dont think its as bad as a decision as ppl think and theres a lot more you could consider why the books being canon didnt work out as well as it could have
